On a main bus route to the city centre and the university.
A large atmosperic and characterful attic bed sitting roo m. The room is furnished with a bed, sofa, dining table, work table and chair, two sets of drawers and wardrobe. The room is adjacent to a spacious bathroom with shower and bath. Unlimited Wi-Fi
The apartment is situated in the cosmpolitean and multi-cultural Spring Bank area with its diverse shops and restaurants. Within walking distance of the city centre, Hull Royal Infirmary and the nightlife of Princes and Newland Ave. Regular buses to the University quarter. Unrestricted on street parking.
  • A cosy warm attic room, with a lounge area, this feels like being a student again in a share house. It's a multicultural area, very close to the city centre, so ideal for getting to the transport interchange or getting food in the evening. Andrew offers his kitchen too, so if you were staying a few days, you could self cater without feeling you were imposing. He is very sociable and makes you feel at home. One thing to note is the wooden floors mean sound does travel upstairs to the attic, so you can hear doors closing etc so if you are a light sleeper, take ear plugs. Exceptionally good value for money, this is what AirBnB should be.... an invitation into a welcoming home, with a kind, friendly, easy going host.

  • Andrew is a very cordial host and helped me with luggage to the attic room which I found to be a most pleasant gesture. The room is clean, dry and warm with a nice comfortable bed in which I had a sound night's sleep. Would recommend Andrew's place to any traveller to the Hull area. Many thanks Andrew.

  • Andrew is a great host with good knowledge of the area which is very helpful.

  • Cosy and great value. Nice touches. Andrew is an open and hospitable host who leaves you to do your thing but makes you feel most welcome. Lots of free parking outside.

    Evelyn2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place is close to local amenities, easy to find, with ample free parking in the street. The room is lovely and big with a big sofa and storage. Andrew was a pleasant host and had provided thoughtful touches like books, drinking water in the room and local info. His home was really nice with art on the walls. A lovely value for money stay in a great area.

Large modern double bedroom with King Size bed ideally located near Hull Royal Infirmary, KCom Stadium and the City Centre. Hull train station is about 15 minutes walk. There is a convenience shop (One Stop Shop) righ next to the house with plenty of fresh food and other essentials.
Please note that communal areas like the hallway or kitchen are currently being redecorated so some parts of the house can look a bit worn out or like they need repair. There is no dust or dirt, just not the same standard as the bedroom right now hence the bargain price for the room! There is a small dog in the house who is still young and can get very excited about visitors. The dog will bark when guests come in or out. If you are a dog lover, you will love her as she is super adorable.

The Gold Room is one of four guest rooms with King sized bed and en suite facilities, smart TV, room fridge and use of a guest kitchen, gym, sauna and games room.Beautiful, historic house . Breakfast included (eggs, toast, cereals, juice & hot drinks), private parking and only 20 minutes walk from the city centre
In 2013 our house’s rescue was featured on BBC2's Restoration Home. Once a grand townhouse and home of one of Hull’s greatest philanthropists and fishing fleet owners, Christopher Pickering, the building has been a children’s clinic, flats, even a temporary mortuary during WW2, before falling derelict around the turn of the century then undergoing a complete transformation from 2012. The Restoration is ongoing!
We are close to The Deep, the Marina and Hull’s city centre, as well as walking distance from the KCom Stadium and Hull Fair

  • This place was a brilliant place to stay and offered us exactly what we needed while in Hull. There were some little boxes of cereal provided as well as everything else we needed for our stay. The kitchen was really big and again very well equipped, and checking in and out was very easy with great communication from the hosts. A lot of Airbnbs in the area were family homes, but this was perfect for us as we were visiting old uni friends and knew we would be out late on a couple of nights, so didn’t want to wake up any kids! Overall I would really recommend this place.

    Hannah2019-11-22T00:00:00Z

  • Amazing location, had a really good time!

    Sophie2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at a very reasonable price - the check in process is very simple and well communicated, and very convenient for those looking for a more flexible stay. This room offers a good split between a hotel and a rented apartment with an en suite bathroom and shared kitchen area that comes well equipped. The room also had some complimentary breakfast items which was a nice touch, as well as a television and wi-fi. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, so it is well located and not too far from the city center, and offered use of a private parking area. Communication was great, with any questions quickly answered. All in all a very comfortable experience.

  • Good location and spacious apartment with everything you might need for a longer stay. Be careful with the parking lot by the health center that it closes in the evening and you can't access the cat until next morning. Sanjay is a great host and very easy to talk to.

Our Edwardian home is full of warmth & character. We are close to shops public transport eating places the uni but the avenues area has a relaxed village feel and is a great place to stay. We have a shared bathroom with a shower and a bath which is used by ourselves and other guests. Cyclists may use our shed to safely store their cycles. Our south facing garden has a sunny seating area and a bbq available for guests. Pianists bring your music. Parking is available directly outside the house.
Our home has many original features including elaborate molded ceilings, fireplaces and lincrustia in the hallway. The bay windows and front door have beautiful art deco stained glass. Two downstairs rooms and one bedroom have original fireplaces. We think the house has a warm welcoming feel and hope you do too.
We are situated in a lovely leafy avenue, close to shops and restaurants. A short walk will take you to Pearson Park which was given to the city by a local Victorian philanthropist call Zacharia Pearson. Known as the peoples park this is a pleasant green space soon to be transformed by a 3.5 million pound lottery grant. The Avenues have many properties of historic interest and a number of beautiful mermaid fountains. It will take just over half an hour to walk into town.

  • Kathryn is a lovely, friendly lady who made us feel very welcome. Our room was lovely, very high ceilings a beautiful fire place and a huge tv! Immaculately clean with a very spacious en-suite with a bath and a powerful shower. She supplied towels and let us use the kitchen to make hot drinks. The best part of our stay was all of her fantastic pets. Gorgeous Sam the dog and 6 little cats all so friendly. I highly recommend Kathryns home 👍👍👍👍👍

    Bev2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • very impressed with accommodation - easily the best I've stayed in so far, tho no breakfast other than teas and coffees which for me was easily compensated by the gorgeous house, use of kitchen to make meals, great location, easy access to city centre (20 mins walk for me), friendly pets, chilled atmosphere, private and spacious.....(yay!) only other thing which would have improved would be small desk and chair for laptop work, but minor point.

    Kai2020-01-29T00:00:00Z

20mins to City Centre (via public transport) easy access to public transport (10min walk to the end of the street is a direct bus to city centre) 15min walk to KC Stadium. 10 min walk to cosmopolitan area, coffee shops etc 10min walk to the university. Access to communal areas, kitchen, washer (please note the washer is not available for stays of 2 nights or less) Easy going household. On road free parking I also have a double room available for up to 2 people and a SuperKing room for 2 people.
Cozy, single room in my 4 bedroom House. My house is clean and tidy but not a 5 star hotel. A small single room (suitable for 1person) with large single (4ft) bed (standard single beds are 3ft6"), designed to give you maximum facilities and comfort in a small space. There is a wardrobe, a TV and chest of drawers. Hangers in wardrobe, mirror, hair dryer. Please note this room is a SMALL, cozy room but great value for money.
The neighbourhood is a lovely, sub-urban area of Hull. It's a professional area and not far from great night life of Newland Ave. Please note we are in the city not the country so there is traffic and pedestrian noise as you would expect in a built up area. Ideally located for Hull City Centre. 30-40 min walk or a short bus ride. KC Stadium is only a 10-15min walk from the house for any football or rugby fans. There is also a newsagent 6 doors up the street open 6am- 10pm, 7 days a week. They sell pretty much everything you need. The end of our street is one of the cosmopolitan areas of Hull, Newland Aveune where you will find a plethora of coffee shops, bars and restaurants along with some unique Independant clothes shops. Princes Avenue is only a 15min walk away. Fairly centrally located for access to most of Hull, free on road parking if you have a hire car.
  • Gill and Nicola are really helpful. I had a wonderful stay. Thank you

  • The housekeeper was nice and the stay was very smooth. Very detailed answer

    Fan2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Gill's many times for work - this was the first time I think in more than a year, mainly because she gets booked up very quickly, and I imagine with repeat bookers. Lovely clean room in a quiet household, car parking on the road outside (it's 10 mins from the city centre but only a few minutes walk to bus stops on a main route). Nice touches with tea and coffee left for guests, room in the fridge too in a lovely big kitchen and lovely soft towels and flannel. The place is spotless - the reason I've put down as expected is because I knew what to expect! When staying over in Hull, it's always my first choice for value, cleanliness, comfort and location.

    Chris2020-01-23T00:00:00Z

  • The check-in process is really very easy. With the notification on the day of arrival you are well informed and know how to get to the room. The rooms are simple but nicely furnished. The sofa bed could be a bit more stable, but the mattresses were very comfortable for us. The location is very central, which is why everything is easily accessible. All in all a top price-performance ratio. We had a very nice stay.

Large modern double bedroom ideally located near Hull Royal Infirmary, KCom Stadium and the City Centre. Hull train station is about 15-20 minutes walk and 5 minutes by car. There is a convenience shop (One Stop Shop) righ next to the house with plenty of fresh food and other essentials. The room is located on the first floor and has recently been redecorated and features a spacious double bed with comfy mattress, a desk and a chair, a shelving cabinet and some storage space.
There is a small dog in the house who is still young and can get very excited about visitors. The dog will bark when guests come in or out. If you are a dog lover, you will love her as she is super adorable. Please note that communal areas like the hallway or kitchen are currently being redecorated so some parts of the house can look a bit worn out or like they need repair. There is no dust or dirt, just not the same standard as the bedroom right now hence the bargain price for the room!

  • I didn't really have any expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself with such a quiet and private, comfortable and spacious room. The extras, like the fridge and hot water machine in the room were really helpful. The shower was hot and clean. I was really hot so they, without being asked, offered me a fan which made all the difference to my sleep on the 3rd night. Having a kitchen shared with other 'tenants' was also really helpful. I didn't cook much but I could have done and I didn't even realise that this was going to be there. They were really friendly and helpful and if I were ever to stay in Hull again I wouldn't need to look for anywhere else. Interesting house too that they are renovating. Fantastic stay, I felt welcome, safe and had my own space. Thank you!

Situated 5 minutes from the centre of Hull, the house is an early Victorian terraced townhouse, built in 1842, with many original features. It has a pretty, secluded terrace garden, which has won awards in the "Hull in Bloom" competition. There is parking for a small car in front of the house. Guests have full use of the kitchen, their own fridge, and there are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. I speak some French, German, Dutch and Spanish.
  • I had a lovely stay at Cassies. I was working at the Hull New Theatre which was a 2 minute walk, excellent location. Cassie is very friendly and I felt very welcomed into her home!

  • I stayed with Carol for a month whilst on a placement at Hull Royal! Carol goes above and beyond to make sure that you feel at home! She is full of local knowledge and a woman of wisdom on many topics! Her dog Daisy is a dream and will always make you smile as she greets you each day. Her house is rather like a museum and every day I found myself noticing some new work of art on the walls or ceiling. Carol is very kind and if you're lucky you may even get to sample her fine baking skills. Experiences such as these is what make's Air BNB so special, crossing paths will people who you will remember forever! Thank you Carol you are one of a kind and I will certainly be recommending your place to all who visit Hull!

    Seb2019-11-28T00:00:00Z

  • From the very first moment that Ann opened the door, I knew I had made the right decision to stay at her house. She is very welcoming and her house is lovely, which is situated in a nice quiet road and neighborhood. Got a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed, had a lovely shower in morning and when I got downstairs, I had a nice surprise waiting for me, which was a tasty breakfast. If I'm ever in the area again, Ann's place will be the first I will look to be staying at again.

This is a small bedroom in our large Edwardian family house in the popular Avenues area of Hull. You have use of a shared bathroom with bath/shower and kitchen facilities. Please note that this is a mainly vegetarian household. Whilst we are happy for guests to eat cooked and pre-prepared meat products in the house, we would ask that raw meat is not cooked in the kitchen.
The house is located in the popular Avenues area of Hull, famed for its tree lined streets and beautiful individual Edwardian properties. Pearson Park is a 5 minute walk from the house and there are numerous cafes, bars and restaurants located on the adjacent Princes Avenue and Newland Avenue, all within 10 minutes on foot. Ideal room and location for the solo traveller coming to Hull. The room is quiet and light with a large window overlooking a beautiful garden. It is softly decorated, creating a sense of calm. The large single bed is comfortable with Egyptian cotton linens. The upstairs bathroom, located next to the guest room is for guest use during their stay. Tea and coffee facilities are provided in your room. Guests are welcome to self serve breakfast. Mostly, any food and drink provided will be organic.
The area is very quiet and yet conveniently situated for shops, restaurants and the City Centre, also the University. Pearson Park with its beautiful trees and architecture is a ten minute walk away.
The neighbourhood is friendly with a sense of community. People are often surprised at how quiet it is. The street is tree lined with planters situated along the verges which the residents take care of. The University is quickly and easily reached.

Also close to the University, which was convenient as I was visiting my son. Would recommend and will be back to stay when visiting Hull again.

Sandie and Steve did everything to make me feel at home and they shared generously of their lovely house and beautiful garden. Everything is perfectly clean and orderly. Victorian house in the leafy cosmopolitan 'Avenues' area of Hull. Great location with restaurants/ bars and the university all within a short walking distance. Our house is currently undergoing a sympathetic restoration to its former glory.
The house is a little rough around the edges at the moment, we have recently moved in but are embarking on a full restoration (this will not impact guests). We a providing a comfortable room with a private bathroom and access to our kitchen and sitting room.
The Avenues has a real community feel. The area is protected by a conservation order that helps to maintain the unique look of the properties within it. There are also plenty of bars/ cafes and restaurants that help give the area a unique vibe.
  • Wonderful stay! Huge room and comfy bed. We appreciated access to the kitchen to prepare our dinner and breakfast. Ian was very welcoming and friendly. Street parking was easy. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

Set directly opposite Pearson Park in the tree lined avenues which form the heart of Hull's restaurant area, Number Seven offers comfort, flexibility, a sprinkling of design flair and an incredibly quiet nights rest being hidden away from the madding crowd with access via a private road. Covid-19 - Please follow the Government advice. If you have essential travel then we have moved to a strict no contact self check in & improved our already immaculate cleaning. Stay safe, travel safe.
We designed and built the apartment at Number Seven between August and December 2016. The accommodation exists as a self contained annex within my home, and part of the joy of designing bespoke lodging from the ground up is the freedom it gives you on focusing on it's prime purpose and then adding some desirable extras. The main room is 5 meters in length, the combination of lashings of natural light and well chosen fittings lending it a light and spacious feel. We added amenities we thought you would enjoy, such as 48" HD smart TV with all your catch up favourites, youtube and a selection of free movies that pivots for comfortable viewing be that from bed or seating area, USB charging sockets, soundproofing, thermal insulation, a fully equipped kitchen and an independent heating system meaning you can set the perfect temperature you enjoy be that for relaxing or sleep. I am not someone who believes rental accommodation should be laminate floors and melamine wardrobes, so you will find some very pleasant furnishings and fittings, a welcome king size bed with quality mattress and cotton rich bedding, tactile fabrics and floorings of tile, real slate and the finest Westex pure wool carpet. I am particularly proud of the lighting design - we placed all the main lights on dimmers and combined them with lamps and light features while adding a colour scheme and fittings that allow for the interplay of light leading to some lovely options for setting a homely mood for you to enjoy - we really do encourage you to have a good old play with your fun options. We even installed a Hollywood mirror, so no excuses for not looking and feeling your most glamorous on a night out :-) We provide breakfast on the first night of your stay with us, so if you are just with us briefly on leisure or business then you don't need to worry about gathering supplies for the morning, no matter what time you check in you know you can spend your evening relaxing knowing it's always nice waking up to a treat as breakfast is included. Tea, coffee and cooking condiments are also supplied along with towels and toiletries. We hope you enjoy our offering.
Two minutes walk from your accommodation you can choose either Princes Avenue or Newland Avenue with a myriad of independent bars, restaurants and retailers covering anything from Thai Fusion to Moroccan, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Fish and Jamaican through to Modern English. In summer it is THE place for alfresco drinking and dining. Pearson Park is opposite the house. Your access to the accommodation is via private road, which means it is both quiet, and offers excellent vehicle security.

  • Communication from the offset was quick and precise. Janet was very friendly and helpful. Even when we were 2 hours late following a motorway closure there were no issues and Janet was there to meet us with a smile. The place itself is in a great location and even though it's close to the centre of town it was very quiet, no street or noise from drunk herberts! The place itself looks brand new, is sparkling clean and cozy. The biscuits and wine were very welcome gifts after a hellish journey and a lovely gesture. The lounge, diner, kitchen was more than ample space wise for us, the kids sussed out the telly and WiFi in an instant!! The mezzanine is huge and there's room for a couple more beds up there!! The beds were comfy and the bedding of a good quality. The bathroom was again a good size and very clean, the towels again, a good quality. In terms of negatives I can think of 3. We could've done with a cheese grater. But we just bought ready grated cheese. A corkscrew would also have been good, again, I just bought screw cap wine. The last thing was the green light on the emergency light is quite bright when you're trying to sleep. It didn't disrupt our sleep but it did illuminate the place when the lights were off. Small petty things but that's just a testament to the great offering this place is. Would definitely recommend and if we are back in Hull this is the 1st place we will look for.

Light airy and roomy with lots of space. Female guests only. The room has two beds which are available for two guest who arrive together. With extra charge.
Princess avenue and Newland avenue offer a an excellent choice of restaurants and bars all within walking distance of my house. Also there is a park near by where you can enjoy tea or coffee whist enjoying the view . If you enjoy walking there are two theatres, Hull Truck and Hull New Theatre showing the latest productions. Around the town centre there are many museums and an art gallery which are free in the old town. Not to miss the beautiful marina where you can eat and drink. If you are able you can walk to all these places from my home. If not there is public transport at the top of the street which is a very short trip into town. Shopping in the town is easy with many choices suitable to your taste.

  • This is the perfect place if you want to be independent and have your privacy. The room is nice and airy, quite big and light, and also warm during winter. It's clean and smells nicely. There was a kettle, mugs and teaspoons, culterly and a few dishes provided along with some tea, sugar, coffee and cereals. Shampoo, soap and shower gels were also provided. The bathroom was clean and all things considered I think it's a great place and definitely one I'd happily go back to.

  • A nice room in a great location. Value for me money! I had some difficulties finding the lock box where the key was kept. Also the code to enter the room is on the key! Luckily someone helped me.

  • Clean house, easily accessible and spacious. Would recommend.

    Ayo2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean room: big enough for two with an en-suite, television and extra seat in the room. Wardrobe provided. Kettle provided with tea, sugar and mugs. Breakfast provided via those small cereal boxes you can get along with some cutlery and dishes/bowls - must provide your own milk but there are shops nearby. The bed was giant (although my girlfriend and I are hobbit sized). Only issue was that we couldn’t figure out how control the radiator in our room, but that might be our fault rather than the hosts. Great location: in the middle of Princes Avenue with easy access to the bars and restaurants down there, or a 10/15 minute walk to Newland Avenue. Overall, awesome value for money, great location and a nice, spacious and, clean room. A+

Check out the article 'explore the avenues' on hull 2017 Step outside the city centre to discover more of Hull’s thriving independent culture. Away from the hustle and bustle of Hull city centre lies a neighbourhood that has been proudly doing its own thing for many a year now: The Avenues. Named after the tree-lined residential streets that run east-west between Princes “Prinny” Avenue and Chanterlands “Chants” Avenue, it’s also come to refer to Princes Avenue itself and Newland Avenue, just north of Princes Avenue. The Avenues is a thriving, cosmopolitan neighbourhood, close to the University of Hull, with more than 30 restaurants and bars. It also has scores of independent cafés and traders that regularly tempt people away from the city centre. Here are just a few of its many highlights. SHOPPING The Avenues area remains largely untouched by the chain stores of most city centres. Instead you’ll find a coterie of charity and vintage clothing shops, alongside increasingly more specialist retailers and high street staples of greengrocers, butchers, bakers and even a fishmongers. EAST COAST BICYCLES: An independent store on Princes Avenue selling custom and cruiser bicycles, as well as accessories and clothing. East Coast also arranges weekly group rideouts, open to all. JUDY’S ATTIC: A super-cute craft shop hidden away behind Zoo Café on Newland Avenue. The shop currently helps more than 40 local makers sell their handmade art throughout Hull and also offers people the opportunity to learn and share skills through a range of workshops. TESSIES: This independent boutique shop offers a gorgeous range of cute and affordable clothing. With designs inspired by female icons past and present, the shop’s ethos is backed up by empowering and inspirational quotes displayed in its Newland Avenue windows. DOVE HOUSE HOSPICE NO. 87: Newland Avenue is a treasure trove of charity shops bursting at the seams with bargain buys. For something a little more unique Dove House Hospice’s retro and curio speciality is brimming with vintage clothing and ornaments. COFFEE AND CAKE Cafés are ten-a-penny around the Avenues, with varied menus that will delight coffee guzzlers and anybody with a sweet tooth, perfect for catching up with friends and family over lunch. FRIZZA CAFFE GELATO: An instant hit when it opened on Newland Avenue in 2015 this gelataria has since expanded to open a second café on Princes Avenue, too. It serves homemade Italian ice cream to bright-eyed children and adults alike, alongside milkshakes, waffles, crepes and a savoury menu. ZOO CAFE: A vegetarian wonderland, tucked away down a tenfoot off Newland Avenue, Zoo has recently been refurbished, painted itself bright blue and announced itself to the world. Sound familiar? LYDIA’S CAKEAWAY: One for Bake Off fans, Lydia’s menu includes such delights as rhubarb crumble muffins and Oreo cake. In the evenings, this Newland Avenue café is packed out for language cafes, craft nights and regular Family Film Club screenings for parents and young children. THE ARTISAN: This warm and welcoming Newland Avenue café is the ideal place to while away the hours. The coffee here is from Hull’s own Blending Room you’ll also find irresistible cakes – including vegan and gluten-free options – as well as to-die-for afternoon teas. Artwork on sale from local artists adds to the ambience. THE BOARDROOM: From Scrabble and Monopoly to Pandemic and Ticket To Ride, there are more than 200 board games to choose from at this popular Newland Avenuecafé. Knowledgeable staff are on hand if you get stuck and there’s a well-stocked fridge full of craft beers. What’s more, the award-winning Hull Pie, located further up the road, delivers direct to your table. VINTAGE CAFE: A delightful little Chanterlands Avenue café that’s a haven for coeliacs with a host of delicious gluten-free sweet treats, Vintage can also cater for other allergies. This place is also a buzzing social hub with regular craft clubs throughout the week.   DINING OUT Whether you’re looking for somewhere a little more quiet and intimate for a special occasion or some tasty pub grub to break up a session, you’re spoilt for choice. THE FISH AND CHIP KITCHEN: Given Hull’s fishing heritage it would be remiss not to include a seafood offering. The Fish And Chip Kitchen on Princes Avenue includes a drinks menu of British beers, ciders and cocktails, although Yorkshire Tea is available if you’re a staunch traditionalist. LUCCA: For fine dining, head to Lucca on Princes Avenue where Italian dishes and some of the city’s best steaks fly out of the kitchen in a slick contemporary setting. Lucca also has a cocktail bar. GUSTO DA GIANNI: A small and cosy Italian kitchen from the Da Gianni family, who also own the eponymous Italian restaurant on Princes Avenue, Gusto on Newland Avenue is ideal for couples looking for somewhere romantic around the Avenues. ROOTS RUM SHACK AND KITCHEN: The menu at Roots on Newland Avenue features signature Caribbean dishes such as curry goat and Arawak chicken, alongside more rums than you can shake a stick at. COGNAC: A small parcel of Paris in west Hull, Cognac on Chanterlands Avenue serves classic French food with Mediterranean touches. Its a la carte menu changes with the seasons, along with a selection of French wines.  HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Dirty Bird is a new addition to Newland’s takeaway scene, with succulent Korean, togarashi and buttermilk chicken. Nofretete serves mouth-watering authentic Egyptian dishes while El Chupitos offers Mexican grub and potent cocktails. Sumo and Hei Sei Ya compete for best Japanese takeaway on Newland and Dundee Fisheries on Chants is an ever-popular chippy. Tropicana and Thai Houserestaurants on Princes Avenue cover south-east Asian cuisine with Malaysian and Thai menus respectively.   GOING OUT   Any number of combinations of nights out await revellers, from quiet drinks in cosy pubs serving up craft beer to late opening bars with live music and DJs to dance the night away. PAVE: One of the earliest bars down the revitalised Princes Avenue, Pave is known for its wide selection of craft beers and the regular midweek jazz nights where anyone can join in the jam. There’s also a large beer garden at the back. 80 DAYS BIER HAUS: A small independent bar that stocks a range of craft beers, with an atmosphere inspired by the owners’ time spent travelling through Europe and America. A giant painting of New York by Hull artist Daniel Mitchell dominates the wall, while the bar’s tip jar has become a regular source of amusement among politically minded locals. DIVE BAR: The newest watering hole on Princes Avenue, Dive features artwork by Hull artist Mr Joe Johnson. The bar is billed as a space for Hull’s creative community to hang out and screenings and exhibitions are planned for the future, so keep your eyes peeled. THE POLAR BEAR: A stone’s throw from Prinny Ave on Spring Bank, the Polar Bear is home to live music institution, The Sesh. This free weekly event spawned the Humber Street Sesh festival and presents the best of Hull’s musical talent, as well as acts from further afield, every Tuesday until 2am. THE QUEENS: A traditional pub in contrast to the newer bars elsewhere, Queens sits on the Queens Road mini-roundabout at the top of Princes Avenue just around the corner from Newland Avenue. Regular live music caters for the older rock crowd, who can often be found sharing their more discerning tastes on the jukebox. LARKIN’S: This bar and kitchen by the railway bridge over Newland Avenue stakes a claim to having the best beer garden in Hull. With its gable-end mural of a steam locomotive by Hull aerosol artists Spray Creative, it’s a must-visit. On bank holiday weekends, you can often find real ale festivals and live music here, too. THE ADELPHI CLUB: This tiny venue has hosted some of the biggest names in music over the years – Supergrass, Pulp, Radiohead and Oasis have all passed through on their way to stardom. The venue on De Grey Street, off Newland Avenue remains a popular stop on the touring circuit and a jewel in Hull’s cultural crown. Check out the pool room in the back too, not only is pool just 50p a game, you can also see the road sign that Bill Drummond famously installed on a Hull roadside, twinning the city with “your darkest thought”. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Honestly, you’re spoilt for choice, especially on Prinny Ave where bars sit side-by-side with plenty of outdoor seating that heaves when the sun comes out. The Piper on Newland Avenue is the home of the Loaded indie night, every Friday. A few doors down The People’s Republic stocks world beers and runs regular quizzes.

  • I absolutely loved staying at Sarah's! Sarah's home is beautiful, and located in a lovely neighbourhood. I had an entire floor for myself, with my pretty room and my own bathroom. Couldn't have asked for more! Comfy bed, extra pillows and towels, snacks..I felt right at home as soon as I arrived, and Sarah was just a fantastic host. She went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. Would highly recommend Sarah's place to anyone wanting a 5-star Airbnb experience in Hull!

  • Had a great stay at Sarah's art loft. Very comfy bed, nice-sized attic room. Despite a few cold nights, the room was nice and warm; an additional heater was provided just in case, but it wasn't necessary. Sarah and her family were very friendly and welcoming, with loads of local knowledge and helpful advice. Highly recommended!

Just off the main A63 road into Hull and a mile from the City Centre, 114 Coltman St is one of Hull’s most historic townhouses, featured on BBC2’s Restoration Home. Converted back into a grand town house from 5 derelict flats, the house offers comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities. Including breakfast (Eggs, toast, cereal, fruit juice, hot drinks) in the guest kitchen. Guests have the option of using the guest kitchen to cook evening meals though there are several takeaways nearby
The Twin Room is one of our four guest rooms and offers both a single and a king sized bed, as well as WiFi, ensuite shower & WC, TV and room fridge. Guests also have the use of a lounge and guest kitchen, as well as the gym, sauna & games room, with a pool table and darts
We are close to the town centre, have plenty of parking though off road parking will only fit medium and small cars, as the entrance to the car park was designed in 1850 for a horse and carriage
  • Perfect location, within walking distance to town center and train station. Sparkling clean room in a family home. One of the best AIRBNBs I stayed in. Highly recommended.

  • This has become a favourite Airbnb destination for work - great ensuite bedrooms, separate kitchen with everything you could need for breakfast, well located for the university and town centre, easy to park. Check in is always hospitable and straightforward, and it's always a pleasant stay and a good night's sleep. Easy to recommend.

    Alison2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The other reviews are accurate. I was traveling on business and arrived late after a long day. Very warm welcome and I appreciated there were the basics to have a late night snack and access to the well stocked guests' kitchen opposite my room. Owner shared the fascinating history of the building and the development work they had put into it . Room has a quirky layout to be expected and enjoyed in a historic house. Much more interesting than the Premier Inn box. Comfortable bed, good shower and peaceful. Heater provided if I got cold. Parked right outside on the street. Excellent value for money . Would stay again. Sorry I could not stay longer.
