Places to stay in Keswick
Cute and cozy cottage in Keswick on the historic mile. Great setting for getting away or hanging your hat while you visit local attractions!
Cute-as-a-Button Efficiency Cottage, located in the heart of Keswick Horse Country. One room cottage with kitchen, bath, and two twin beds. Conveniently located within 2-1/2 miles of Keswick Hall, 8 miles from Charlottesville, 10-12 miles to UVA, and near local historical attractions: Monticello, Ashlawn, Montpelier and local wineries. Great place to hang-your-hat while visiting the area. Nestled amongst shade trees on the Keswick Historic Mile - route 22. Great location for Parent-Weekend at UVA, Homecoming, Foxfield Races, Horse Events in Keswick, Weddings at "the Hall", wine tours, etc. The cottage is located behind our home on historic route 22/Louisa Road and Clarks Tract. Enjoy all that Charlottesville has to offer, community theater at Live Arts, Four County Players, the Hamner Theater, Black Friars Playhouse, etc. "Fridays After 5" on the downtown pedestrian mall is a must for mingling with the locals or enjoy the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings on Water Street. First Fridays (the first Friday of each month,) is when local art galleries on the downtown mall have open house, or visit the plethora of wineries in the area (Keswick Vineyards is just a few miles down the road on route 231.) Then you may want to consider day trips to Washington, D.C. (2-1/2 hours away to the north-east,) Colonial Williamsburg, VA, (2 hours away to the east,) Richmond, VA (1 hour away to the east,) or beautiful Skyline Drive/Afton Mountain, (45 minutes away to the west.) Our family enjoys jaunts to some of the world's most beautiful caves: Lurray Caverns, Dixie Caverns, and Shenandoah Caverns - all within an hour and a half. Just four miles away, our family owns an antique mini-mall, featuring over 50 vendors of 18th, 19th and 20th century finds. (It's also the source of most of the cottage's furnishings.) But we are just as delighted to share our other favorite antiquing hot-spots! Begin your treasure hunt at A&W Collectables, and there, you can pick up a map to our other favorite antiquing hot-spots!
Keswick is a gorgeous community. Horse farms, wineries, and board fences abound. But the thing I like best about Keswick, is its quirky characters. There's an odd blend of Virginia FFV and good ol' boys, re-emergent ethnic diversity, affluence and stable poverty. Shifting fortunes seem to be taken in stride and there is no lack of local curiosity. It takes a while to meet local flavor. And yes, truth is indeed stranger than fiction. William Faulkner has some interesting quotes about Charlottesville and the area residents - all pretty accurate. :)
  • This place is always perfectly well put together. The host family is lovely the yard is great there are little hidden treasures all throughout the cottage. My son and I absolutely love this place

  • This place is charming. A tiny house experience! The shower was wonderfully bigger than expected. The beds comfortable. And the kitchen had everything we needed. We took nice walks down the road. And enjoyed the beautiful hills and farms.

  • We have stayed at Sofie’s place before, and will again. It is always clean and tidy, and she is lovely. The charming cottage is perfect for our time in Charlottesville.

    Amanda2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cottage located in the horse country of Central Virginia is suitable for two people with twin beds on both ends of the space. It has everything you could need for a short stint in Shenandoah. Sofie is an incredible host and offers exceptional hospitality to her guests. We felt right at home. And what a beautiful area! Get used to seeing horse pasture and mountains each day of your stay!

    Ron2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just what I needed for a quick solo getaway. Tiny but cozy - with a friendly host who seems to always have something sweet up her sleeve. Getting to downtown Charlottesville was quick and easy, too!

  • This is a cozy, stylish little cottage in a lovely setting close to Charlottesville. The space is small, but it is very comfortable!

    Sharon2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough great things about the Fox Den. Sofie is a gracious host and engaging - plenty of stories about the neighborhood. Scenery is exactly what you want if you’re looking for a retreat. Certain I will be back soon.

    Austin2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! This is a perfect cozy getaway. The space is always incredibly well-kept and there's always a nice new addition to it every time we arrive. Sofie offers a kindness and hospitality we've not seen before. My partner and I have continued to travel here every year since the first time we booked and we always look forward to the experience.

  • Very clean and accommodating room. Hosts were quick to respond and we friendly when our paths crossed. Location is excellent as you are secluded and able to “unhook” from daily life, but also only 10 minutes away from the charm and amenities that make Charlottesville so appealing.

The home is very cute and the location is in a great proximity to the city and Monticello. We are grateful that Brandy opened her home! 5 stars

Our place is a newly constructed barn loft in our 1960's barn. Enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from large windows and a private balcony. The barn is surrounded by our horse pastures and neighboring fields. Self check in with the key lockbox. This loft is separate from the main house where we live. Private parking and entrance for our guests directly outside of barn loft (this is separate from the main house driveway).
One bedroom with queen bed (semi-private with a half wall). Spiral staircase leads up to a loft with two twin beds, easily adapted to queen if desired. Large open living space with full kitchen. One full bath. Laundry closet with washer/dryer.
Our neighborhood is a private road with several large properties on it, great for walks or runs. Just 3 miles down the road is a large park, Darden Towe park, that offers extensive walking/biking trails. These trails run along the Rivanna River and connect to many trails throughout the city of Charlottesville. There are several river access points for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Just past the park is convenient shopping for groceries, coffee shops and several restaurants. The loft is 4.3 miles to Charlottesville Downtown mall and 5.6 miles to the University of Virginia grounds. There are also several vineyards within a 10 mile radius.
  • The loft is such a sweet place to stay. We loved every inch of the thoughtfully laid out floor plan. We especially enjoyed the sweet touches like extra blankets, comfortable beds, and fresh flowers! Very easy to get into town, but also felt like we were secluded and away, which is what we were after for a 24 getaway.

    Kelly2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to getaway from the DC area. The place was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and peaceful. So many details, big and small, that we really appreciated. The fresh flowers, the fresh clean towels, sparkling water, and some local beer left for us in the fridge. We highly recommend and hope to come back at some point . Thank you!

    Monica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Lennice was a great host and provided a fine stay. The room was all that was described and more. Clean and spacious, the room was also quiet and comfortable. She also provided many amenities including high speed internet, tv, and a fine array of breakfast items (including her delicious banana bread). I was visiting family nearby, but the room would have been convenient to Monticello, several vineyards and Charlottesville. I will be back.

  • Lennice was absoultely wonderful! She always made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond, even making fresh banana bread. I would highly recommend staying at this residence. It is a little secluded, but not a far drive from downtown Charlottesville and the vineyards. It was very clean and had it's own private entrance and wraparound porch as well. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • Great place and good location!

    Meghan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It was close to Charlottesville where my husband was working and just enough in the country to have peace and quiet. The bedrooms were very pretty and I was able to fit two pack n plays in the bedroom for our toddler and baby. It worked perfectly for what we needed. We also loved our bedroom and the king size bed. The kitchen was great and the kids loved the giant tv screen. Even though they did have cable (which we enjoyed because we don't have cable), we did bring our roku so the boys could watch Daniel Tiger on PBS. It was really a nice stay and very quiet too. Thank you again for allowing us to stay there. :)

300 sq. ft. studio is light and airy with a huge window overlooking the farm. It has a separate entrance with queen bed and single futon (inflatable available), bath with shower and kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker). As we are in the country, cell phone and internet service is variable. Do the city by day and retreat to the tranquil country at night. 9 miles to C'ville.
Chopping Bottom Farm dates back to King George II and 1730, at the foot of the Southwest Mts, it has incredible views. We've been here for 22 years and love country living and we'll make sure you do too. You're welcome to walk the farm, swim in the pool and drive scenic 231, one of the most beautiful roads in the country.
Keswick is Jefferson country. He would ride down from Monticello and visit friends along the road we live on. Over half the land in Keswick is permanently conserved so it has stayed pretty much the way it was when Jefferson was around. Even in winter, the countryside is stunningly spectacular.
  • Amazing property in an amazing convenient location!

    Luke2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely space! Would highly recommend holing up here and enjoying the quiet. The property is beautiful, the space is cozy and neat, and Tony & Annie are incredibly thoughtful hosts.

    Elyse2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very nice and cozy! We really enjoyed being greeted by deer in the driveway every night and would definitely stay there again! Cell service (verizon and AT&T) was bad but the Wifi worked well with iPhones

    Kevin2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Tony and Annie’s loft. It was perfect for our weekend of enjoying the area. We hope to return though to be able to really enjoy their lovely home. We loved being able to walk our dogs in long walks each morning and o my wish we’d had more time to spend just relaxing in the countryside. Annie and Tony were quick and responsive as well.

    Tessica2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We found Tony and Annie's Keswick studio apartment to be just fine. Directions were easy to follow. Check-in was a breeze. The apartment was stylish, well appointed and comfortable. The property, Chopping Bottom Farm, was beautiful and quiet. It was an ideal "home base" for our excursions to Charlottesville, Monticello, wineries, fine dining and more. I particularly enjoyed walking the property in the early morning during our fall stay, watching the sun come up over the trees and the mist burn off the ponds, listening to the gentle murmur of the creek, spooking a deer or two, and admiring the beautiful, frost-coated landscaping. Hosts Tony and Annie were very cordial and their sweet puppies were, too.

    Paola2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful beautiful location. If you are looking to spend some time away from the city life and go to wineries, see the stars like never before and stay in a very relaxing surrounding think no further. Tony and Annie along with their 4 dogs are extremely friendly and caring throughout your entire stay!

    Renata2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Anne are a great couple. Super friendly, interesting and fun to talk too. They alone are worth the visit. However their place and property are spectacular. We have 3 dogs and they were able to run off leash with no worries of being close to a road or another property. The home sits way, way back from the main road. It's completely hidden. The space is light, clean, basic but great for a weekend stay. The location is only about 20 minutes to Charlottesville. There are wineries, and cideries close by. We will be back. Highly recommend.

    Bo2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location! Seems so far away from it all and peaceful-yet so close to all the amenities. We saw so many stars at night. Super lovely. The place itself was really clean, and the hosts were welcoming but also really good about honoring our own privacy—good balance of friendly and helpful and letting us enjoy. I’d see stay here again

We call this our hidden gem because it's not too far from town, wineries, UVA, Monticello and more that Charlottesville has to offer, but yet it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The renowned Clifton Inn, a popular destination wedding venue is less that 1/4 mile away. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is a 7 minute drive. The campus of UVA is a 15 minute drive. We call this our studio loft because it has the feel of a mountain cabin. The views are gorgeous and the setting is peaceful.
We are located just outside of Charlottesville in the county of Albemarle. So we have great mountain views with a peaceful setting but if you need to get to town it's only a 15 minute drive.
  • This was my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed in. It was beautiful, clean, relaxing, and we felt very welcome by a note the owner left for us. It was a lovely location and the host was super kind, accommodating, and very hospitable. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Trish is a fabulous host! The studio is super clean and so comfortable not to mention peaceful and quiet. I booked her space for my parents for their anniversary and they had such a wonderful weekend. Trish was always very quick to respond to any questions that I sent her which made the whole stay convenient. I would recommend Trish’s place to anyone visiting C’ville or the surrounding area!

The place was a great size and everything was super clean and well decorated! We slept amazingly well at her place, it was very quiet and relaxing. We loved every second of our stay and wished we could’ve stayed longer!! Next time I am in the area for the night, I hope to stay at her place again!

    Sarah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very nice and perfect for our girls getaway! We had 6 ladies and there was more than enough room for all of us. About a 15-20 min drive to downtown. Easy check in and check out. Thelma even offered to mail me my electric toothbrush I left which was extremely considerate of her. I would definitely recommend!

  • This house is worth every cent. I felt so comfortable amongst the stylish amenities. The kitchen was spotless and the beds were so cozy. I can't wait to return!

    Colleen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic setting with luxurious touches inside. Everything inside is new and the beds are very comfortable. The area is full of beautiful farms and rolling hills. Monticello and Charlottesville are under 20 minutes away. Shenandoah National Park is about an hour away.

Enjoy our lovely handcrafted cottage in its wooded, peaceful setting with walking trails, chickens and a beautiful garden -- just a mile off the Keswick exit of I-64 near Charlottesville, UVA, Monticello, many wineries and historic sites.
The cottage at Golden Hill features a beautiful design with coffered ceilings, cherry floors, huge expanse of custom-made windows looking out over the Southwest Mountains, and handmade stairs leading to a loft which will make you feel like you are in a tree house. With the wood stove going it feels cozy in the winter; the lovely deck with lounge chairs facing the amazing chicken coop complex, bricked fire pit area and beautiful gardens creates a wonderful, relaxing place in warmer weather. Take a walk on the private, gravel road or through the woods and down to the beaver pond at your leisure. Visit the garden, play with the chickens, enjoy a beautiful sunset and marvel at how many stars you can see because there are no interfering lights.
The neighborhood is very quiet, though you may hear the clucking of chickens and the occasional barking of dogs (ours or the neighbor's). The cottage is perfect for those who want a peaceful, cozy, unique getaway.
  • Patricia is truly the hostess with the mostest! She responded immediately to our last-minute request to book the cottage and was ready to accommodate us. Despite the same day arrival, she had a fire ablaze in the wood-burning stove, along with homemade cookies and a bottle of wine upon entrance. In addition, she had fresh eggs in the fridge that her hens had laid earlier. The golden yolks and deliciousness of them rival that of my local farmers market eggs. The unexpected but very welcome addition of a chicken coop across the way provided entertainment and an educational window into the life of well cared for hens. We even got to feed them some leftover scraps, avoiding any waste on our part. I must add that because there are only hens in the coop, there isn't the loud cock-a doodling one normally associates with chickens (Patricia explained to us that roosters are the loud ones). In fact, it is not noisy at all. The 20-minute drive to the UVA campus made it easy to spend some time with our daughter, a first-year student, also affording her the opportunity to "get away" briefly to study in a peaceful setting. The cottage sits tucked away in the woods, with a great view of the mountains and a little stream running down below. Waking up to that panorama was rejuvenating. Patricia also had an outdoor fire pit with plenty of wood. One of the evenings we made an outdoor fire, as our daughter studied for an exam indoors-it was perfect. The location is also nice for short walks along the wooded lanes. We have two little Yorkshire terriers and took them for a walk to the end of the long driveway, where we approached 2 horses from a nearby farm. It was an amazing scene. The cottage, built and designed by Patricia's son, is a beautiful testament of love, adoration and skilled craftsmanship from a son to his mother. I had everything I needed in the kitchen. Patricia had plenty of supplies, coffee, and fresh milk. One of the main points I would emphasize is that Patricia provides very clean and tidy accommodations. For us, the cottage was a perfect size. Not too tiny, and not too big. Patricia is a wonderful, interesting and warm host. We felt very comfortable from the moment we showed up. We would highly recommend this unique location. Thanks for sharing such a special gift with us. Until next time.......all the best:)

  • This was our third stay at Patricia’s cottage. It’s always such a treat and my girlfriend and I look forward to it every year. It’s such a cozy space and Patricia has always been such a wonderful, accommodating host. She also makes amazing cookies! We can’t wait to come back.

    Christopher2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful weekend getaway to Charlottesville and Patricia's place was the perfect stay for us. It was the perfect location in the woods, but still close enough to downtown and had just the right amount of cabin feel. Patricia was very responsive and check-in was wonderful! We would definitely return.

  • The Guest Cottage is so wonderful! Gordon is a welcome host and provided extra touches (organic blueberries, bagels, free range eggs and yogurt) which were SO appreciated as we arrived late evening for our stay. The cottage is sparkling clean in a gorgeous mountain setting. Numerous deer spotted the field behind the cottage as the sun rose this morning! Wonderful stay and we plan a return stay in the near future.

  • In my book, this ranks in my top 3 AirBnB stays, and I've been to a lot! Easy to find, easy to check-in, amazing space, thoughtful touches, quick and easy communication...what more could I ask for? A longer stay!!

    Kelly2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • There are just so many wonderful things to say about this place! The scenery is so gorgeous that we had a difficult time leaving our back porch and poolside. Breakfast items were provided and that may seem like a small thing but It allowed for a leisurely morning. This is conveniently located to most any attraction. I highly recommend the tour and wines at King Family vineyard. Pippin Hill is a must see as well. It is on the most spectacular site. Don’t hesitate to book this place and enjoy all that C-ville has to offer!

    Jill2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage is fantastic and the pool is wonderful. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great recommendations on restaurants. We loved all the personal touches, including the delicious local granola, eggs, bagels and other treats for breakfast. The view, privacy, the landscaping and the beautiful chorus of birds and display of butterflies was lovely. A great visit! We hope to return.

  • Our stay was gorgeous in this wonderful house in the middle of the forest! The house is spacious, full of light and decorated with great style. The rooms are spacious and have lots of space. Charlottesville is just 15 min driving from the house. I highly recommend this place!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay - hopefully can come again soon! It is a BEAUTIFUL location, extremely peaceful, great views and very quiet. The interior is nicely decorated and extremely clean (and I am picky about cleanliness). Stay Charlottesville was very responsive. The pullout couch for the third bed could use an upgrade but wouldn't detract me from going again with three couples :) Thanks so much!

    Erin And Greg2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is as advertised and very dreamy! The view is amazing, particularly in the fall. The cabin is very spacious and welcoming, and our family of three enjoyed it immensely. It's a steep but short hike, or drive, up a gravel road to the lookout, which was spectacular. There are plenty of trails to walk/hike around the house. We brought our 16-month old daughter, and were able to use our jogging stroller on the paths without an issue. The last mile of the drive is as others describe, a one-lane curvy gravel road; not bad at all, but you definitely don't want to meet anyone coming the opposite direction! Luckily it's a private mountaintop, so that's unlikely. Top marks: - Fantastic view and remote feeling--though a very short drive to Charlottesville, groceries, etc. - Comfortable bed in Master (didn't try the other beds) - The bathrooms are both very nice, though not pictured. Big shower in the Master and a nice deep tub in the 2nd bath. - The kitchen is well stocked and a great place to cook a big dinner - Comfortable furniture in the living room and dining area - Great stereo/speaker system, and a really great local radio station (WREN 97.9 FM) Room for improvement: - The listing needs to be updated to better reflect accuracy on the "family friendly" amenities: a highchair and pack and play are not included as stated, though you can include them with an additional fee. We double-checked and brought our own. Another note for those traveling with small children: the second bedroom has a very large (very beautiful) window overlooking the woods. The sun rises on this side of the house and shines into the room much of the day. There is a nice blind for that window, but it does little to darken the room during the day, so if your kid(s) are used to blackout shades or the like, they may have trouble napping. It wasn't an issue for us as our daughter isn't conditioned for super dark naps, but we did put her pack and play partway in the closet to make it a bit dimmer during her naps.

    Bonnie2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home that is closer to downtown than expected, but still very quiet and secluded. The master suite and main living areas are very spacious and lovely. The second bedroom and bathroom are relatively small. While still comfortable, it's good to note especially if more than 4 people are staying. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider going back.

    Jessica2019-09-16T00:00:00Z

We are tucked away on a mountain ridge but 10 minutes from downtown Charlottesville and less than 5 minutes from Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. We love what Charlottesville has to offer and want to share it with you! Great dining - check. Not one, but two fantastic French bakeries - check. Views - check. Entertainment - check. Wayne is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and can point you to wineries that will please your palate! We and our two friendly cats look forward to hosting you.
We want you to feel comfortable and like you're visiting friends who just happen to live in the heart of Virginia wine country. Your room is well appointed with a queen size bed, private bath, closet, storage and wooded views. If you are traveling as a family/group, a second room with a queen size bed is available for an additional $25/person beyond 2 guests. The bath is shared between the two rooms.
Ashcroft is a hidden gem in Charlottesville. We live on a mountain ridge which is wooded and private (we can only see one other house!). Watch for deer on your drive in! However, everything Charlottesville has to offer is readily accessible. UVA is a 10 - 15 minute drive. The downtown mall is 10 - 12. There are several wineries within a 30 minute drive. I-64 is at the bottom of our hill.
  • Wayne and Michelle are the ideal hosts! My husband and I felt very welcome the entire time. We had everything we could ask for - great people to talk with (if you so choose. I do recommend chatting with them!), all the comforts of home, and the sweetest kitties, Muscadet and Shiraz. Their house is located in a peaceful setting with a small waterfall right outside the front door and a view overlooking the forest. We will be back!

    Erin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I honestly don’t even know how to start. Wayne & Michelle are simply THE BEST. In fact, this is by far one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed. Their hospitality is unspoken of. Their kindness and warmth made me feel so welcomed. Thank you so much Wayne and Michelle for an amazing stay! This is the perfect place for you to stay in Charlottesville. It’s close enough to downtown (about 10 min driving), but surrounded by trees and forest. In my last night, I even saw a family of 8 deers in front of their driveway! They have a mini waterfall running in front of the entrance, which makes the atmosphere so peaceful. The room was implacable and beautiful. So homy! The bed was very comfortable, and everything was very clean. Wayne is a wine expert! So, of course, I asked him for vineyard recommendations. I ended up going to four vineyards and all of them were incredible. Michelle is super sweet! We watched part of a baseball game together and had such good conversations. They were both very quick in communicating and in giving tips for traveling around. Also—the cookies in the bedroom were HEAVEN! I CANNOT recommend their home enough for you! You will be so happy to spend your stay with Wayne & Michelle. I am definitely coming back! Thank you for everything, you both!

    Ingrid2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful property and the owners/hosts are terrific people. Their home is very inviting, and the location is ideal if you don't mind not being in walking distance of the university - close to a grocery and quick-food places at Pantops, yet not in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Charlottesville. We would definitely stay with Wayne and Michelle again if the opportunity arose to do so.

    Lynda2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne and Michelle’s place felt like a home away from home. It was a spacious room in a beautiful house in a lovely area just outside Charlottesville. The location was perfect and so were these thoughtful hosts. Highly recommend!

  • Sarah’s house was perfect for a quick friends’ weekend away. The house was kid-friendly, and we especially appreciated all the toys for all different ages. The house was perfectly clean, and as it was the first really chilly weekend of the season, we were glad to see that the house was warm and cozy too. We loved the farm fresh eggs Sarah provided, and her quick communication was so helpful. We’d gladly stay here again!

  • Sarah is a communicative, responsive hostess who sees to it that every need is met. Her home is immaculately clean, the kitchen & fridge were very thoughtfully stocked, and helpful instructions were clearly posted throughout the home. When we did have a question, she answered within seconds. We were there for 3 nights for a wedding at a vineyard close by and unfortunately, we were too busy to spend a lot of time at the property, but at the end of a long day, it was a peaceful, quiet, comfortable respite. There were 5 of us and we had more than enough space and privacy. We highly recommend Sarah's home.

Very convenient location and comfortable home right in the heart of Charlottesville where everyone is welcome! Quiet neighborhood on a lot that backs up to natural areas. We are extremely close to Historic Charlottesville, UVA, Monticello, the Downtown Mall restaurants/shops, the Rivanna walking and biking trails at nearby local parks, and much more! The space could include the entire townhouse, but I would also be willing to share the space as well, since this is my primary residence.
My home is central to everything Charlottesville offers, but is in a very quiet neighborhood that backs up to a natural area so it provides peacefulness while at the same time allowing quick access to the city of Charlottesville and surrounding Albemarle County.
I live in a quiet neighborhood where people are walking dogs, saying hello, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets we see at the top of Pantops Mountain. There is a park nearby right along the Rivanna River where many hike, bike or even kayak. We are very close to the Downtown Mall which boasts of amazing places to eat and shop. Monticello and UVA are about 10 minutes from us, as well as many wineries and breweries.

  • Great house! Clean sheets and plenty of towels for our large group. Shower supplies, coffee, and complimentary wine are great touches. House is in a great location - remote enough to feel like a secluded getaway, while also close to several wineries / cideries and about 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville.

Farm style home on 13 acres offers closest proximity to Monticello (4 minutes away). Jefferson Vineyard (1 min), Ash Lawn (3 min), Michie Tavern (5 min), Downtown Open-Air Mall (14 min). Relax with a cold drink on the front porch or enjoy the views of the mountains and pond from the back deck. There is plenty of space to breathe here. Feel free to snack from the fridge or pantry. Full kitchen & laundry. Great views and country feeling but close to everything. Relax & make yourself at home!
Super-fast Xfinity Blast Internet! The master bedroom (upstairs) has new King high-end mattress with pillow top. In addition there are two good size bedrooms with queen beds upstairs. There are 2 full bathrooms upstairs, and a half bath on the main level. You are welcome to the bacon & eggs in the fridge. Coffee, tea, sodas, and water are also complimentary. Actually, what the heck, feel free to snack on anything in the fridge or pantry. They are usually fairly well stocked. There is a second fridge in the garage with additional cold drinks. The kitchen fridge has a dual ice maker (door and freezer) so there should be plenty of ice. This is not a fancy house but we think you will find it comfortable and convenient. We have a 48 HDTV with stereo sound in the living room and a 32 inch HDTV in the master bedroom. The house has Xfinity Blast internet, most major network and cable TV stations, Amazon Fire TV with Alexa & Prime Music, Hulu, and Netflix. If you are staying less than a week you will likely have the house to yourself...Contact me in advance for longer stays. The garage is also available should you want to use it. A remote will be provided.
We are on Thomas Jefferson Parkway (Rt. 53). This is the same road Monticello is on. We are about 4 minutes from Monticello. The Parkway is a scenic and beautiful road. The driveway to the house is directly off Thomas Jefferson Pkwy (Rt. 53).
  • Jeff’s place is great! Just like the pictures portray it to be! Jeff is a great host, he is quick to respond and was very helpful with information about the area. We want to come back again!

  • Jeff's home was perfect for our stay. Plenty of space for 2 couples and 2 toddlers, and great location for short trips into town. Jeff was very communicative and friendly. The fridge was absolutely packed, certainly the most well stocked of any Airbnb we've ever stayed in. Carters Mountain just minutes down the road was perfect for getting the kids' energy out before sitting in a car for a few hours heading home!

  • Jurriaan’s place was a wonderful spot for our Swiss friends visiting Charlottesville for our daughter’s wedding. Our friends loved the woodsy location, the amenities of the house, and the warm hospitality of the hosts. They would love to stay here again if they have the opportunity to visit the area in the future.

    Gayle2020-01-04T00:00:00Z

    Melinda2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Can't believe this is SO close to Charlottesville...a quick zip out of town, take a right, and you're in another world, by deer, meadows and beautiful trees. Told our host if he ever wants to sell the place...call me! The place is super clean, and Jurriaan is the consummate host--friendly, and a fount of knowledge about the area. The sleeping loft is great fun, and though we were pretty much in and out, everything you need for a longer stay seems to be well supplied. Thanks, Jurriaan--we look forward to a future visit!

    Michael2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jurriaan's place was perfect for our weekend trip to Charlottesville. It is only a short 10 minute drive to the downtown mall but feels like you are much more removed in the open space at the house. We had a great time and could not have asked for a better place to stay.

    Keith2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay at the Mindful Mountain Retreat was fantastic! Jurriaan was there to greet us upon our arrival and everything was as described. Very homey feel with all of the amenities. The bedroom is so cozy with French doors that open up to back field where we were able to see deer! It was so peaceful. Jurriaan even sent us recommendations for breakfast the next morning before we checked out but we decided to enjoy the comfy bed a little longer and UberEats. We will definitely stay again next time in Charlottesville!

  • Angela was very responsive... she reached out multiple times to make sure we were all set up and could get into the house. The place was immaculate, fit 14 of us very comfortably. The kitchen had everything you need to cook and we had zero issues. The place is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood not too far from Charlottesville. 10/10 would recommend.

    David2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Angels Nest was a perfect oasis to our couples retreat! There were enough rooms, amenities and bathrooms for every couple. Location was right by all the local wineries, just a couple miles away. When I first booked didn’t realize Angels nest was a bed a breakfast, this was a sweet surprise for us. Angela was very responsive and kind enough to allow us to check in early so we can start our day. Highly recommend.

    Kathleen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had read the reviews on Angela's place carefully, so it was just what we expected it to be. We needed a place for 15 people for our son's wedding - and this place was perfect. Extra sofas, futons, and plenty of bathroom space made this an easy place to accommodate all of us and our needs. There is plenty of room on the main floor to host others - there is seating for about 20 at tables - but there is space to mingle and move around in the other rooms. I don't think we could have found a better place for our crew. The location was perfect because of where the venue was located. I recommended this place to any family or large group.

    Gertrude2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is absolutely gorgeous and was perfect for our large group! The beautiful decorations and little touches really made the stay special, and Angela was incredibly easy to communicate with. I absolutely would recommend staying here!

    Stephanie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing AirBnB!!! The house is stunning and has tons of room! We spent a lot of time in the spacious kitchen, back porch, and living room with a fireplace. Perfect for large groups!

    Katherine2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's house is where high school friends, The Pickles, spent a weekend together. The house was huge (3 floors) plenty of room to spread out but we all stayed together (while we were awake) mainly in the kitchen area. We did a wine tour one day but we spent the rest of the time in the house. We brought food for lunch and dinner because Angela said she would have some things for breakfast for us. We were amazed by how stocked the refrigerator was with delicious breakfast foods, coffee, and creamer for our weekend stay. She was very attentive and called to check on us to make sure we were warm. ( first cold evenings and heavy frost in the mornings). We enjoyed our stay.

    Dana2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angela has a wonderful home. It was perfect for our large group. Lots of room for everyone to spread out and not feel like they are on top of each other. She has the basics for breakfast and coffee. She communicates well and accommodated our group by letting us drop our stuff by early so we could go wine tasting all afternoon. Everyone was happy to stay in and either order pizza or cook in the evening so we could enjoy her lovely home. Highly recommend.

    Linda2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Angela’s place during our residency retreat. It’s a very beautiful and cozy house. It has a great deck and outdoor space. I would definitely recommend it!

  • We had a party of 8 people and had a fantastic time here. Plenty of space and very comfortable beds. The basketball court is very nice and well lit for night time. Pool table is in great condition and we also utilized the very nice poker table. The kitchen had plenty of space to cook for many people and everything was very clean. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone!

  • Stayed here over a Saturday night in October with wine tasting on the list of things to do. Gary communicated at all times and was always responsive to questions. It was a group of 4 couples for my wife’s 40th birthday. When we pulled up there were deer in the yard and the setting is quite beautiful. While the house is older, it is huge with tons of space a nice game room down stairs and a fireplace. Gary allowed us to check in early and even left a birthday card for my wife.

Clean, warm, large living spaces - we had a great time. The only downside is that you probably want a rental car - this is not an easy area to get an uber/lyft - expect 15+ minutes wait. That said, if you *have* a car, it's really wonderful.

    Alex2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The area around the house seems remote but it’s only a few minutes from the downtown mall! Peaceful property with comfortable beds and a beautiful yard.

    Elizabeth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property is amazing! We went for my best friends bachelorette weekend and she didn’t know anything about the house before getting there and was so happy with it. She kept saying how awesome the house was and how beautiful the property was. It had everything we need and then some. We loved everything about it and would recommend this place to anyone looking to go to the Charlottesville area. Tons of sleeping and lounging areas and great for any kind of trip, whether it’s family oriented or a bachelorette like we went for!

  • The house and property was awesome and we had a fantastic stay. It was very peaceful, lots of wildlife and the barn was a fun, unique characteristic. Ubers/Lyfts will take about 15-20 minutes to get to you most of the time.

    Beth 2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The views of the mountains are simply amazing. The location is very convenient to grocery, restaurants, and shopping nearby both downtown or near UVA. The home was quite spacious and comfortable for 8 of us. We made marvelous memories!

  • Lots of space.

    Teresa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a large group. We came down for a girls weekend with 7 guests and had plenty of space to cook, eat, and hang out together. When we arrived, there was a beeping noise coming from a locked area and Fraidoon quickly sent someone over to fix it. Only negative was that two of the beds felt smaller than a queen size, as listed.

    Jackie2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best weekend and the back porch with the view was just phenomenal. It was all very clean and had everything we needed. Fraidoon was super responsive throughout the entire time and would highly recommend others to stay there.

  • Great place

    Melissa2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • was very spacious for a family or several couples. The floor plan was great for dining and just relaxing. Adjoining areas we did not use, so there were options for seating/dining. very clean, lots of windows and natural light. the deck was huge and inviting. Did not see a grill but plenty of space in kitchen for cooking/eating.

    Patricia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

The house is incredibly comfortable and spacious. Only ten minutes from downtown, yet the wooded 2 acre property has a natural country feel. A beautiful, bubbling creek runs along the entire back yard. Theres a large deck to chill on and also a picnic table, fire pit and sweet labyrinth at the far corner of property. Lots of privacy from neighbors! The kitchen is huge and wonderful for cooking. Lots of counter space. Over all it’s a very special space with a magical atmosphere!
This beautiful space feels like a luscious yet humble retreat. Comfortable and roomy. Enjoy a short walk around the two acre property. There is a lovely wooded yard that borders a clean, bubbling creek. Relax in chairs and savor the sweet sounds of the water. There is also a small but sacred labyrinth on the left corner of the property. Huge deck to enjoy or practice yoga/tai chi or to get your dance groove on! Guests are welcome to have their meals out on the picnic table.
The house feels VERY private, more so in summer months while leaves are still on the trees. There aren’t any neighbors that directly border the house (within sight) but it’s easier to see them in the winter. There is one neighbor across the creek. But, I rarely see them. The lush, wooded yard feels like a park. Perhaps an urban park because cars will drive by. But they can’t see into the yard as they pass.
  • The house was perfect for our weekend stay! It had everything we needed for a nice girl’s weekend away.

    Laura2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • wounderful place if you could spend a week yard was lovely and the sun room great, but a little history of the place would be interesting.

    Susan2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have loved this house more. The minute we walked in, we fell in love, and felt at home. All of the lovely decor, the comfortable furniture, the HUGE kitchen; it was perfect! The beds were so comfortable. The grounds were beautiful, and it was awesome to see deer grazing out of the big window. The huge deck out back was a great place to sit and relax. No phone reception, but that was ok because the free WiFi allowed us to make calls thru FB Messenger. And no problem texting. Megan was a thoughtful host, letting me know in advance that her awesome huge bathtub might be difficult for my father, who has mobility issues, to step into. We loved this place, and can’t wait to go back!

    Aileen2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Megan’s house with 8 ladies for a ladies weekend to Charlottesville. It was very spacious. Big kitchen, comfortable beds, and a lot of room for all of us. The whole vibe of the house is so cute! We all felt very comfortable and this house made our weekend perfect!! Megan was also very helpful with communication. Any question I had she would respond back right away. I would highly recommend staying here! It was a wonderful experience!

    Kami2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay for our group of girlfriends :)

    Sum2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Megan's place was spacious and clean. It is an eclectic space and provides a great base to explore Charlottesville. We had plenty of space for our group and loved sitting on the back porch!

    Hollis2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint property with a wonderful backyard! While we didn't use the kitchen, the other parts of the house were spacious. We were very comfortable. Megan was a very communicative hostess.

    Naim2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Charming location - you feel like you are in the Virginia countryside, but you’re only a few minutes outside Charlottesville. Nice back deck overlooking a private yard with a pretty stream. The cottage is comfortable, but a bit quirky. Foodies and chefs: bring anything you think is essential, including sugar, coffee, paper towels, and aluminum foil. Beds were comfy.
