Places to stay in Lanark Highlands
Welcome to the Mississippi River! I am still renting. If you are looking for a break to unwind look no further. Deep cleaned inbetween renters. It is quiet, peaceful and tranquil. My space is a traditional cottage that has been fully renovated with modern amenities while still keeping much of its charm. It is truly a quiet escape from the city. There is one queen size bed, one double bed and one double size pullout. Located 15 minutes to beautiful and historic Perth and a 10 minutes to Lanark.
The cottage is located in a rural area down a private road. Definitely meets social distancing requirements.
  • This is a very cute cottage by the river. Everything was perfect except that I had very little cell phone reception , so it was difficult to do any work. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.

  • We spent a lovely winter weekend at this cabin curled up in front of the wood stove. The place is super cozy and right on the river. Two thumbs up! We would stay here again.

  • Log Cottage on Mississippi River was perfect for our relaxing weekend in February. The place has an authentic log cabin atmosphere. Wood stove was easy to operate and the wood was provided. The roads to the cottage were clean and well maintained. The place is about 15 min drive from some awesome restaurants in a historic Perth. Some phones might not have a full signal by the river, but you'll get the service up the driveway. Sarah was responsive and considerate. She preheated the cabin for us and gave us some great local tips. All in all - exactly the stay we were looking for.

  • Our family of five (kids 12-18yrs) thoroughly enjoyed unplugging on the shores of the Mississippi River. It was flowing quickly and made such a beautiful sound. The shower is hot with good water pressure and the kitchen had everything we needed! Extra pillows and blankets with lots of towels were available. There was just enough cell service to allow a quick check-in when it was a must, but spotty and slow enough to encourage putting our phones away. Loved it!

    Gwyneth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Sarah’s cottage in the winter and it did not disappoint! Even though the weather outside was chilly, the inside of the cottage was nice and warm thanks to the wood stove (which Sarah had going for us when we arrived!) It was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the river. Thank you for sharing your cottage Sarah!

    Kyra2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing getaway experience. We spent most of the time indoors due to the low temperatures outside, but we truly enjoyed the view of the river, which is literally 10 steps away, the freshest air possible and the wood burning stove. There is plenty of wildlife in the area as well. We are looking forward to going there again in the summer time!

    Dzmitry2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location along a fast flowing river. The log cabin/cottage was super cozy. We loved hanging out by the woodstove

    Kevin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is simple and cozy with an incredible view. We arrived to a warm, inviting cabin with the wood stove already going. Sarah was quick to respond to a few questions we had packing up the final morning. A perfect place for a quiet weekend away!

  • Had an amazing time at the cottage. Exceeded expectations.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Taina and Frank’s place. The cottage was cozy and equipped with everything we needed. It’s located next to Taina and Frank’s own cottage but there are enough trees between that it feels very private. The dock was a lovely, peaceful place to sit and relax. If you feel like going for a little hike, take a trip to Blueberry Mountain. It’s about a 7 minute drive around the lake, and a little hike up the mountain will provide you with a beautiful view. We loved everything about our stay. We had a great time! Thank you Taina and Frank!

    Heather2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin! Taina and Frank were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Would definitely stay here again.

    Dustin2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Frank and Taina's. The lake is very quiet and secluded. Its very nicely set up to sit outside and have a fire or relax on the dock or on the porch. It's a great spot for a quiet getaway. Frank and Tania live right beside the house but they were never obtrusive and there is enough distance and trees in between the two buildings for privacy. Also if you needed anything they were right there to help. I'm sure I will be staying there again in the future

    Tom2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and cozy house! Thank you, Frank and Tania! We will come back)

    Anastasia2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time here this year. We went in June and we just had to go back before Fall officially started. Tania and Frank are awesome hosts, love the cottage, the privacy, boats and hiking Blueberry Mountain. This place is a gem - 5 stars all the way!

    Diana2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were wonderful and super helpful. Both the cottage and the land was beautiful - you would have to try hard to not have a peaceful, relaxing and wonderful time. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back again :)

    Heather2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at Taina and Frank's place, which says alot about how much we love coming here. We actually brought another couple this time and we found that the cabin was still roomy for everyone.

  • A fantastic cabin with everything you need, but still maintaining a rustic feel. Great privacy and a very homey feel to the whole place. The check in process was seamless. Tiffany provided prompt communication and was very accommodating with our last-minute booking resulting from another hosts' cancellation. I can't recommend this place highly enough - both for the accommodations and for their gracious host.

  • Nice little cabin. Good hosts ,privacy

    Ben2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in dozens of cottages and this hit all the high notes for me. Right from the beginning the hospitality was evident and we fell into a comfortable rhythm. The cosy cabin blended all the best of the old with the new and enjoyed amazing privacy on a very healthy lake with nature abound. at the risk of missing out on future bookings I cannot recommend this one enough.

    Rob2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. This place is just what we needed for a relaxing time away. Beautiful location with a view of the lake from the main living space and a nice deck to enjoy the outdoors. Lots of trails nearby and there is good fishing. We did not run out of things to do. Also, the cabin is well-stocked with essentials, they truly thought of everything. Highly recommend.

  • I almost don't want to share how great our stay was, as I am afraid it will become a hot spot and unavailable next time I want to go to Perth. But in fairness to our hostess, Tiffany, everything was amazing. Very clean, beautiful setting and lots of special touches.

Welcome to the Stumble Inn, one of two original hotels on the shore of the Mississippi River in the village of Ferguson Falls. Built circa 1830, the Stumble Inn has been updated and converted into a charming, cozy large one bedroom cabin getaway.
The Stumble Inn is a rustic cabin located at the front of a shared property. The owners live on the property in a separate residence and are available during your stay. The cabin is located close to a road with a posted speed limit of 50kph, however we all know people don't always follow the speed limits. A charming log cabin with wood floors on the main level and carpeting in the large bedroom area. There is a large 12x20 deck complete with a patio set, lounge chairs and a propane BBQ. The fire pit is located between the cabin and the river for toasting and roasting summertime treats. The main living area has an open livingroom/dining area with a hide a bed couch and a comfy chaise lounger. The kitchen is completely stocked with all your cooking and serving dinnerware. The upstairs area is a spacious one bedroom with a king size bed, desk area, three dressers, and a sitting area. The three piece bathroom includes a toilet, shower and sink area with a large counter space.
Ferguson Falls is a small hamlet located in Lanark County on the Mississippi River. Ideal for fishing, biking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching and enjoying nature. There are many golf courses and some hiking trails. Quaint areas closeby to visit include Carleton Place, Perth, and the famous Amish store in Balderson. Relaxing on the deck while bird and wildlife watching, and listening to the sounds of nature is a perfect way to start any day.
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Stumble Inn! Perfect place for a fall getaway. Relaxing and cozy at the cabin and close to many nearby towns for lovely country drives and exploring. Doug and Donna were exceptional hosts and welcomed us with an already lit fire and lots of chopped wood ready to go. We would highly recommend this cozy getaway!

    Nicole2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Donna's place was wonderful. The cabin itself is very cozy and comfortable, and the property it is located on is beautiful. Donna was very responsive, and she communicated exactly what we should expect during our stay. We spent time in Perth, which was very cute. We recommend staying at Donna's!

    Laura2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Donna and Doug are great hosts and the Stumble Inn has such character and history. The quiet and serenity was wonderful, sitting by the open fire and watch the Mississippi flow by, Donna has catered for everyone’s needs with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, the Kingsize bed was so comfortable.

    Barrie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • this is a wonderful rustic cabin right beside the river. There is peace and quiet in the country setting, sitting on the deck is so relaxing, watching the river flow gently by. Everything you need is there, the bedroom is large and comfortable. We would love to come back again next year for a getaway!

    Marian2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful way to step back in time for a beautiful, peaceful getaway. Loved feeling like we were a part of history in such a quaint, restored, very roomy cabin. Lots of beautiful small towns to visit in the area, and we especially enjoyed Carleton Place and Perth. Spent a lovely day too in Ottawa sightseeing, walking the Rideau Canal and seeing boats travel through the locks. Then crossed the river to Quebec and discovered the amazing Gatineau Park for a beautiful hike around Pink Lake. Could have stayed a couple more nights for sure!!

    Lori2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Perfect get away from the city, definitely would stay here again. Donna and Doug one of the best hosts I’ve experienced with Airbnb. Super comfortable and large king sized bed.

    Cameron2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • the view of the river is amazing donna as a host even betterand cant wait to come back for another stay

    Mackenzie2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an adorable cabin! My partner and I spent 3 nights at the Stumble Inn and had a great time. The kitchen is fully stocked along with a BBQ, and the bedroom space is amazing. My partner and I slept like babies in the comfy king sized bed, and enjoyed fishing on the river in the canoe (Lots of pike!). We visited Balderson’s cheese factory, Wheeler’s pancake house, and Maberly’s bakery (all within 30 minutes drive) on a rainy day, and spent an evening watching movies in the cabin during a storm. Definitely a perfect getaway! The nearby highway has some traffic on it first thing in the morning, but other than that, the area is so peacefully quiet. We loved it. Thanks again to Donna who was always available for any questions, tips or suggestions!

  • Carolyn and Steve are amazing hosts and their place is just stunning!!Unfortunately, we could only spend one night in their house in the woods, but it was the most comfortable night out of our 5 day trip. Steve and Carolyn warmed the house with fire and prepared electric blankets for us! We had a very cosy and warm night! The view is breathtaking! I would definitely recommend that place to anyone who is seeking for get away from busy city! Thank you a lot for the fantastic accommodation and hospitality, dear Carolyn and Steve!

    Anita2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was Oct. 23-25, and I can only repeat wholeheartedly all of the praises that previous guests have heaped upon the Rock Ridge Retreat, and Carolyn and Steve. What beautiful people, and top-notch hosts they are! It takes very special people who have kind hearts and faith in the goodness of humans to open up their space to people unknown, and C and S have exactly those. The Retreat was sorely needed by me at this time (for rest and songwriting), and the solitude and beauty around me didn't disappoint. In fact, as others have said, the photos are very accurate, but the reality is even more wonderful! As I navigated my way into (and out of- a comedy of errors on my part!) the canoe, Steve was there to help me with both. Such a good and nice man. They offered tons of local info and tips on the stay in the cabin, and both helped me with my bags as well, since the short path to the cabin is rocky and a bit tricky (removing wet leaves from the path may help prevent a slip the next autumn around). And what a gorgeous log cabin it is!! I actually shed tears of pure joy at walking in (after my hosts had left, of course- kind of embarrassing!) This was a bucket list check-off moment for me- being in a log cabin in the woods. They've both provided every big and small thing you would need (food notwithstanding, but coffee and water, yes) for a rustic and restful stay. There was lots of wood for a cozy fire in the wood stove, candles on the mantle, tons of warm blankets and pillows, etc. My only observation was that the hotplate was in need of a bit of a cleaning, so I gave it a soapy wipe down. Otherwise, the cabin is lovely and clean. The rate was competitive and affordable, as well. I kept thinking that I wish I had had a couple more nights there! Knowing my hosts were nearby was great for peace of mind, and yet it was private and quiet enough to feel secluded. The views out of the windows are breathtaking, especially at this time of year. I don't hesitate to encourage all to visit the RRR to see for yourself. Thank you so much, Carolyn and Steve, for making people in need of beauty and space (like me) so happy. I was inspired to write a song (while there) about this magnificent spot- the lyric is done, and when the music is, as well, will get it to you both asap!

    Patricia2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This location is idyllic! The pond and hike is gorgeous, the cabin is incredibly cozy and comfortable (the woodstove is easy to maintain and keeps it beautifully warm), our hosts were perfect, offering support as needed but allowing us the space and privacy we were looking for. We've been here twice now, would absolutely recommend it and look forward to returning in the late Spring!

    Jess2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Little Paradise in the Woods. The place is simply awesome and has everything one needs for relaxing couple of days. Right next to the cabin are some trails in the beautiful nature and you can even use a canoe to discover the pond. Carolyn and Steven are amazing hosts and put a lot of effort into making your stay as comfortable as possible.

    Alexander2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn's house is located in a beautiful spot. The house is very cozy and Carolyn prepared a chimney fire for us so that the house was nice warm inside when we arrived. Carolyn was very attentive so we felt really welcome at her place.

  • Tom's place was perfect for a quick couples getaway. Peacefully located in a quiet wooded area, yet conveniently close to town. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spacious and immaculate home with an accommodating host. Thanks Tom!

  • Tom's place was perfect for my daughter and I to stay during our snowmobile trip. He is close to he trails and knows what snowmobilers need. He was a perfect host who made himself available if need, but gave us total privacy. His place is spotless and had everything we needed.....including coffee :)

  • Amazing host, perfect location, super clean! We will return!

    Rachelle2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Tom's place for a ski competition at Calabogie Peaks, do not hesitate and book Tom's place, it is absolutely immaculate the pictures do not do it justice! The setting is beauitful I'm sure in all seasons. Besides the accommodation's Tom is the most considerate host, he was concerned when we arrived 10 hours late with no luggage and had to drive through a snow storm, he offered to leave food or provide anything we needed and had the place cozy warm when we finally arrived at 3:00am. He provided a list of local restaurants, Red Necks is really good! If you like clean large spaces you will not be disappointed staying at Tom's! We will definitely stay again!

    Cheryl2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We are a family of 4 who ski at Calabogie Peaks. Tom's place is perfect for us... it is close to the hill and super easy to get into with all of our gear (lots of storage space). The driveway is well plowed and the walkway clear. The inside is much more spacious and beautiful than we expected - high ceilings, big windows, very nice kitchen, big bedrooms (very comfy beds!) & bathroom, gas fireplace, BBQ etc. etc. It was extremely easy for us to make ourselves at home here. Tom is very, very responsive and is wonderful to deal with. Thank you Tom for everything!

    Lisa2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's place was stylish, very clean, and incredibly economical for the space that it was. I would definitely stay again.

  • Tom is an absolute gem. One of the friendliest people you could hope to meet. Excellent communicator and a complete professional. The place was spotless, cozy, inviting and perfect for our snowboard getaway. Had everything we needed. Highly recommend! 5 stars... I wish I could give 6 :)

    Ryan2019-12-31T00:00:00Z

The Treehouse is built almost exclusively from natural and reclaimed materials. It has it's own unique look and feel and has often been described as a little slice of paradise.
Due to its high concentration in maple trees, Lanark County is also called the 'Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario'. The county is home to over 100 lakes, rivers and waterfalls, and the coastline is speckled with coves and pristine beaches. The region is a paradise for outdoor fans who like to go biking, hiking and engage in adventurous water sports activities such as rafting, canoeing, kayaking and more. Erik is co-owner in a couple of restaurants in Perth. One is called Fiddleheads Bar and Grill and is located at the corner of Wilson and Herriott St. overlooking Stewart Park and the Tay River. ( www.fiddleheadsbarandgrill.com) The other one is a Southern Style outdoor restaurant Called Wildfire BBQ and Smokehouse (www.wildfirebbq.ca) and is located at 65 Craig St. right beside the downtown Tim Horton's (not the one on Hwy 7) If Erik is not at the Treehouse to greet you upon arrival, it is likely he is at one of the two restaurants.
  • This place is beautiful and much more than we expected. Words can not describe the serenity and natural beauty of the area and the cozy, quaint and eclectic charm of the treehouse. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the river is such a cleansing and comforting feeling! Erik was readily available and hospitable, ensuring our stay was comfortable. We’ll definitely be back🤗.

  • Great place to get away for the weekend!

    Jodi2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place! It was so cool and eclectic. The view and sound of the river was amazing, I slept so well next to the window. Wish we could have stayed long but we definitely be back

  • Erik's treehouse was a hit with everyone - the decor and building is so creative and unique, we were always finding new things to marvel over. It's quite spacious. The river location was lovely - but be sure to bring bug spray! Erik was very friendly and we definitely enjoyed our stay.

  • We booked the tree house for a girl's weekend getaway. We were five and all had an amazing time! The tree house has so much charm! It is so peaceful being so close to the rapids. We took the short walk down the road for a swim, which we all recommend. The only downfall was we must have put too much water in the chemical toilet because we could always smell it, and we ran out of toilet paper the last morning - 2 rolls for 5 women drinking wasn't enough :) We all loved our time together and the tree house made it that much more special. We may make this an annual trip!

    Kristen2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Unique experience. Please be careful with directions. Ways took us 10 minutes before reaching the final destination on inside road called Hunter side road which was full of holes and had a huge sink hole. Our vehicle was stuck and took us 2 hours to get towing and $200.

    Reggie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • It‘s an adventure to stay at the treehouse. Go for it! Explore the surrounding or relax in the hammock!

    Rita2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse exceeded our expectations! It was a very cool place for our family to spend my son's 7th birthday. The treehouse was very cool with so many creative touches and the outdoor porch outside of the treehouse overlooking the rapids was spectacular. My favorite part was sitting on the outside of the treehouse - the constant sound of rushing water makes it a perfect getaway. Inside was very cool and it was much cleaner that I expected it to be given that it is a treehouse. I was amazed that I didn't see a single sign of a mouse the whole time. We followed the instructions carefully and made sure to close the door quickly behind us to avoid bugs, but with a 7- and 9-year-old there was a lot of running in and out. We did not have a ton of bugs until the last day, and even then they did not bother us at all because they congregated upstairs and we were all sleeping downstairs. We were there at a particularly hot time and it was still comfortable for sleeping because there are plenty of fans. The swimming spot we were pointed to was one of the best we've ever swam in! It is a river, so it is rocky, so bring your water shoes, but amazing swimming. The water was clear and super warm, with light currents that the kids enjoyed riding on. It was shallow in some spots and deep in some, which was perfect for our kids. We also enjoyed the hammock outside the treehouse and having fires. Our kids loved playing int he rushing water near the treehouse, too. Another bright spot of our trip was that on Friday morning, we went out to breakfast at Wheeler's Pancake House (we were in maple county after all), and were surprised to find that it also had a museum and playground. The playground was extra special because it had a zipline that the kids loved playing on. There was also a Native American teepee that you could go in and the world-record holding largest collection of maple items. We really enjoyed checking them all out and watching the video on the history of maple in the area and how syrup is produced. The place even had a few animals you could visit. Another neat thing nearby is Purdon Conservation area - during a two-week period, a huge orchid colony blooms there and we caught the tail end of it. Perth is about 22 minutes away and worth a visit if you like architecture - many stone buildings were constructed by Scottish immigrant stone masons shortly after the war of 1812. Many if the farm houses you see in the pristine countryside around the treehouse also were build of stone. We enjoyed the beautiful views everywhere we went. Another thing to note is there is no cell service - so bring your maps! (There was also one in the treehouse.) Erik and Liseanne were great hosts - we forgot to buy coffee and Erik gave us some. We also forgot marshmallows and found he had left some maple marshmallows, which we roasted, and are now obsessed. ;) If you are outdoorsy, you will love the treehouse! I am a nature lover but am probably the member of my family that is least comfortable with "campiness" and found that for 3 nights the treehouse was a great time!

  • Amazing place that exceeded our expectations. Perfect cottage to escape the city for a bit and relax in a beautiful environment. Julie was accommodating and had great recommendations. Would definitely come back on a regular basis.

    François2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • You could not find a better cottage to stay in! My friends and I stayed at Julie's house during a ski trip weekend and her house was impeccable and very modern. There were lots of modern luxuries (e.g. towel heater, touch-activated kitchen faucet, a beautiful rain shower), as well as thoughtful finishing touches like makeup wipes for women. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and had a wide variety of spices, tea, and condiments. The covered deck was perfect to sit on with a cup of coffee and a blanket. And at night, the fire in the basement was perfect to sit by (wood included!). Julie was a friendly and an attentive host, and was excellent at communicating in a timely fashion and making sure our stay was going well. I would come back in a heartbeat!

  • Beautiful space inside and outside!

    Stephanie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Julie and Tony’s was such a great retreat. We had a great time walking along the maintained trails and hanging out in the very comfortable cabin. There was plenty of space and extra comforts, as well as a very well stocked kitchen which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Thanks again!

    Andrew2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is amazing. Check in was simple, the home is completely brand new with heated bathroom floors and towel racks. Everything is so cozy from the wood stove to the comfy plush blankets all over the house. Nice and secluded, we had the most relaxing weekend watching movies on DVDs in front of the fire. 10/10

    Michael2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 4 plus one dog had a great weekend at Julie's place. We enjoyed sledding, hiking, and curling up inside with some board games and puzzles. Highly recommend for a winter retreat!

    David2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Quick communication with the hosts, easy check in and gorgeous lodge! The indoor fireplace was so nice for the winter, as well as the heated floors and towel rack! Very nicely decorated, comfortable and useable space. Would love to go back in the summer to experience that too!

This is a cozy little cottage that has a lot of character. It is in a great location 5 minutes from Calabogie Peaks ski hill, nordique ski trails, Eagle's nest (and other) hiking trails, a par 3 golf course, mountain biking, two public beaches and more. This cabin has it's own water front and private beach and dock. A canoe and two kids kayaks are available upon request for no cost. A great way to experience all that Calabogie Lake has to offer!
Guests have private use of a little beach, fire pit, table and chairs, BBQ and a large dock. Perfect summer living!
This is a quiet lane with mainly retired, friendly residents.
  • Excellent location. Close to trails, ski hill, lake. Beautiful view no matter what season.

    Aaron2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place was perfectly located just minutes from Calabogie Peaks, down a quiet lane way with a gorgeous view of the lake. The grocery store in town is fully stocked and has tons of options, even to accommodate dietary requirements. The cottage itself was warm, comfortable and cozy. It had all the amenities we needed to make full meals for 5 people, sleep, shower etc. Lots of hot water, ability to cast music or videos to the TV, and a comfortable porch to overlook the lake. Highly recommend the space, made for a perfect getaway ski weekend!

    Melissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Eric were extraordinary hosts. I got my car stuck down a lane way on my way to the property, owing to a mistake on my part. Without being asked, the couple left their home (it was late and very cold), got my car out, led me to the cabin and let me in themselves. They were spectacularly kind about it. I was honestly blown away and can’t thank them enough. The cabin itself was super cozy and lovely, it had everything we needed. We had the perfect weekend. Would stay there again.

    Lisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was excellent and had everything we needed. The place was very clean. The distance to calabogie ski hill is excellent and we will definitely stay here again.

    Cameron2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This perfect getaway has all the charm and beauty anyone could ever ask for. My girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic relaxing cabin in the woods to spend time and go for daily hikes and this place for the bill to a T. Julie is the perfect hostess and the process was seamless which made it all stress free. Whether a couple or a family looking to spend quality time, I recommend staying here and experiencing a little bit of Calabogie.

    Stephan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot near Calabogie Ski Resort!

This little area is called Sheridan Rapids and we are a small community of about 6 families who all know each other and revel in the natural beauty that surrounds us. Great for casual strolls on backroads through farmland and bush lot combinations
  • Absolutely amazing experience overall. Better than the pictures can show. Such an amazing getaway, words can’t even describe. We will 100% be going back :)

    Sarah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect little get away if you are looking for somewhere to get outside and relax. We loved having our own little private island for the weekend! The views are amazing and falling asleep to the sound of the rapids was incredible!

    Nick2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem La Isla is - we felt like we were in paradise. It's so enchanting, thoughtful, inviting, comfortable, creative, and ultimately peaceful. Thank you, Liseanne and Erik, for creating this treasure!

    Faith And Richard2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was the best choice I made this year! I didn’t expect the place to be that great (way better than the picture). Just make sure to bring condiments such as salt and pepper if you are going to bbq, and make sure to close the 2-layered tent curtain to keep warm in the morning. Definitely willing to come back to this mini paradise next year.

    Ji Won2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • As magical as it appears on screen, the reality of being immersed in La Isla continually magnified an endless supply of magical wonders. What a delight to experience the lush surroundings and accommodation -- both are caring artistry at its finest!

    Susan2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • La Isla is exactly what you need if you are looking to get away from it all and surround yourself with nature and tranquility! This is definitey glamping at its best! The outdoor couch is great for soaking up some sun, and taking in the beautiful view of the lake. The outdoor kitchen has everything you could need, and the tent is spectacular- super cozy! I will definitely be back :)

    Corey2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in this natural setting. Erik and Liseanne are charming and responsive. This place is good for the body and the soul. All this nature and the superb installation of our guests have made our stay a moment of pure happiness. Thank you for everything. Everyone should live a moment like this. Just perfect.

    Jerome2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • La Isla is truly a little slice of paradise! The tent itself is comfy and roomy with lots of indoor seating for when the bugs come out at night. Also lots of outdoor seating areas to relax, nap, and enjoy the gorgeous views! La Isla is well equipped - definitely my kind of "camping"! Some tips - there is WiFi access, but you should note there isn't unlimited WiFi in the country - so come prepared with your shows and podcasts downloaded ahead of time so you don't use it all up! Or bring a book or two (my preference!) so you can truly recharge in nature. I didn't get any cell signal, but my husband's network was just fine. I also recommend water shoes for the river like the previous reviewers have - we're glad we took that advice!

    Megan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy communication and check in. The place is definitely tiny but doable. We loved exploring the nature in the area: took a lovely canoe ride on the lake and saw lots of nature on a near by trail. Screened in kitchen might be a bit much for October but probably wouldn't have been as bad if it hadn't rained.

    Kat2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Once again, Sven's cabin was cozy and delightful. He is a thoughtful host and is great to interact with - both online and in person. Would love to have the chance to stay again!

  • Cozy, functional cabin! Sven and his family are very hospitable, and around to answer any questions/provide any assistance. The location is a beautiful break from the city, though you do occasionally hear cars driving by on the road. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Comfortable space and hosts give you lots of privacy. It was very cold outside when we were there but the space heater warmed up the cabin very quickly!

  • Everything is as described in the listing and by other reviewers. This is a pet friendly rental which is fine but there is a bit of dog hair around so something to be aware of if you are allergic. Host’s are always available and the location is unique. Looking forward to staying again when we are not held captive indoors by a fierce ice storm so we can explore the hill behind the cottage.

Rustic vintage wood panel. Cozy comfortable living room featuring a large fireplace ( the only heat source) Lots of windows. Queen bed in master bedroom. Well stocked kitchen ( equipment wise not food wise). Master bedroom and bathroom are the only rooms with doors. Otherwise curtains separate rooms. It's a secluded quiet area. Interested in facilitating friendly gatherings. No rowdy parties Must have knowledge of maintaining fires, in shoulder season when heat is necessary for comfort.
Rustic vintage cottage with few upgrades since the sixties. A place for pure relaxation. Poor cell service, 3 channels on TV. Beautiful secluded river setting with 756 ft of frontage. Well treed lot. Rugged ground surrounding cottage and shoreline. Caution should be used at all times when navigating the property.
Located in a quiet bay, closest neighbor across the bay, separated by some marshy waterfront. Nearest store 15-20 minutes to sharbot lake 30 minutes to perth
  • Is was a great stay in Mississippi Gem. It is an absolutely lovely space directly at the river / lake. When we arrived the fire place was already burning :-) - Thank you We did a canoe tour and walked in the forest also out dog enjoyed it very much. I will certainly come again.

  • We were well taken care of at this lovely cottage rental.! Tracey brought extra wood to ensure we would have ample to get us through the chilly nights with the wood stove and also enjoy outdoor fires. We were able to rest and relax, and enjoy the scenery, fishing and solitude. Thanks to Tracey and clan!

  • If you’re looking for a place for the perfect serene getaway, this is the one for you! This cottage is amazing! Other than the great amenities provided by Tracey and her husband, the cottage itself is very well maintained and has everything you might need for your stay. The best thing about it though is its location, the cottage is set in one of the most beautiful sceneries you will find with a perfect view of the lake and river. Will definitely be coming back here when it’s a bit hotter to take full advantage of the lake activities. Very recommended!

    Sami2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey's accomodation is beautifully located, and very private. I enjoyed the walks alongside the road leading to the cottage being surrounded by forest, as well as exploring the path leading to rapids. The fishing was plentiful. Nights were getting colder, but the fireplace provided soothing warmth. I can imagine this cottage being a pleasant environment in all seasons. I almost decided to have a swim on our first day, as the weather peaked 27, but soon enough, it was a bit too cold to contemplate such thoughts. Tracey was a great host and most welcoming.

    Sylvie2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our time at the cottage. Our hosts were friendly and the cottage had everything we needed including a truly authentic cottage feel. It was secluded, quiet, and the view on the lake was gorgeous. It was a perfect weekend. Thank you Tracey!

  • Total privacy, beautiful views, ample wildlife...if these things are important to you, you've found your place! You can walk up the winding, private road through the woods, or you can hike up the river and have a look at some beautiful white waters. Explore the lake with the cottage or kayak at your disposal. Aptly named The Gem of the Mississippi!

  • My family and I had such a great time at this cute little cottage. The cottage itself was exactly what we wanted and expected. It was clean, well equipped and on a quiet lake. The lake was also amazing for swimming and fishing or just sitting by the dock. Overall, it was a great stay here!

  • Our stay at Mark and Mirandas cottage was better than expected. The cottage itself was clean, cozy and functioning. The cottage was fully stocked, we did not end up needing most of the kitchen, bathroom and sleeping supplied we had packed. Upon arrival the cottage was clean. We will definitely be returning for another visit. Friendly hosts made out stay even more comfortable! Thank you again Mark, Miranda, and daughters!

Enjoy your visit in our private tiny house on Stump Lake, part of the Mississippi River system. Simply cross the road to the dock and take the canoe for a relaxing paddle. The kitchen is equipped with all you need to cook meals, including a small fridge. There is electricity but no running water in the cabin. A jug of drinking water is provided. There is an outdoor shower just beside the cabin. The toilet is an out house. There is a large fire pit in front of the cabin. Fire wood is provided.
There is a canoe available for the guests. The water by the dock is shallow, but there are many amazing swimming spots on the lake. You will be alone on the property. There is a main house on the hill, but it is empty. This is a new cabin, thats why there are still no review's. Check out our other listing and reviews ;-)
This is beautiful quiet countryside with lots of lakes and trees. Stump Lake has mostly small fishing boat, canoe and kayak traffic. There is a public boat ramp across the road. The next closest grocery, gas station and liquor store are in Sharbot Lake. Elphin is a small village just up the big hill which has a chip stand open on the weekends in the summer. Elphin is the closest place with reliable cell reception (best spot is in the church parking lot). You are truly on an escape from the city! Hiking: You are very close to the K&P Trail. A nice stretch for hiking starts in Mississippi Station. Park the car at the local dump and than go south on the trail. • Such a beautiful place to relax and unplug ! Being able to watch the stars and the sunrise from the comfort of bed was an incredible experience. Definitely recommended for people in need of a little relaxation!

  • Sven's place was exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway. The space was small and cozy, the location was perfect, and Sven was a very helpful host. We skated on the lake, had a fire and watched old school movies. Sven's place was everything we hoped for, and we would definitely go back again

    Sarah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sven’s tiny home cabin is very dreamy with its smart design and cozy feel. We were very pleased to welcome the new year in here, and would love to visit again in the summer. You get all the charm of an older rustic cabin experience in a fresh, neat, and well insulated space. The numerous windows offer a great view of the lake and trees around the property, letting in lots of beautiful daylight. This is a great place to unplug, relax and connect with the landscape.

    James2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sven provides everything you would need for your stay from pots/pans to drinking water. He gave very clear instructions that were easy to follow and set up a dreamy vacation spot. I expected it to be cold inside but it was the opposite. The provided heater was more than enough. The only downside being the lack of running water which we were aware of. The place and outhouse were both spotless. We would definitely stay again and for longer!

    Shaija2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sven has such an beautiful and cozy place! It is the perfect place to disconnect! He was a great host and was great at communicating! Hope to be back sometime!

  • This place was not less than any magical getaway somewhere far. It was super clean and had everything that we needed and expected. From privacy to fun, this place has everything. Will definitely recommend it and book it in future. :)

Very cozy and quiet.
The apartment is very cozy with a European feel to it
We are right next to Stewart park and the centre of town ...the best location
  • Wonderful place to stay in Perth. Very clean with plenty of kitchenware to use. Walking distance to the downtown area. John was a great host!

    Cory2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Johns place is probably one of the best Airbnb stays that I have ever seen! My parents stayed here the night and they loved it. The complimentary bottle of wine was a great touch. As well as my mom loved your beautiful paint work. :)

  • Second stay here in a week. Great spot - Will stay here again if I’m back in Perth.

    Annabelle2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very comfortable and clean apartment in the heart of Perth - only minutes to everything by foot - with parking in the garage. The beds are comfortable, lovely linen, very cozy comfortable living room, and a well-outfitted kitchen. Lots of little extras, which we really appreciated. The host is very responsive to requests, and answers all questions within minutes. I highly recommend this place, except to those with mobility issues (about 10+ steps up to get into the apartment). Thanks John!

    Annabelle2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is my go to place whenever I am staying in Perth. Every visit is 5 star plus. I always look forward to returning to this wonderfully bright, sparkling clean, welcoming space. Highly recommend!

    Daintry2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was BEAUTIFUL - more so than the pictures conveyed - and a comfortable, cozy space for our short stay in Perth. Ours was a last-minute visit, and John was very prompt in his replies, which was helpful for us. His space was in a great location to be able to walk everywhere, and we were grateful for the garage parking. The bed (we only used one of the two rooms) was very comfortable for both my husband and myself. A wonderful stay!

    Tali2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • John was a fantastic host. He replied promptly to all our email questions. The place was very clean and check in was easy. We loved the extra touches in the kitchen which saved us from having to buy the basics on arrival. The bottle of wine was also much appreciated! Fantastic experience in Perth - we have already recommended this place to our family.

  • Faith & Richard were very kind, quick and responsive. We appreciated their local tips and suggestions - if you’re looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay they are highly recommended, we appreciated all the little touches including having water and tea available in the room for us, the room was decorated beautifully and the candles in the fireplace really set for a calm and serene atmosphere in the evening. It’s close to the centre of Perth and walking distance to some awesome food. Would recommend for a couples getaway for sure!

  • I had a very nice one night stay while visiting my son in Perth and then heading on to Ottawa. The room was spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the shower water was nice and hot. And a good location close to the center of town. I plan on staying again in the future when I visit Perth again. Thank you, Faith and Richard, for providing me with a nice place to stay.

    David2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This home is filled with beautiful things, centrally located to downtown, but also quiet. We had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable and the room we had is very dark at night which my husband loved for a good night's sleep.

  • We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Keron's this past weekend. The rooms were sparkling clean, bright and large, and in such a lovely setting. Keron was very responsive and even contacted us a couple of times over the weekend to make sure everything was okay. Seeing the beautiful property, I think a late spring or summer stay might have to be on our calendar. Thanks again Keron.

  • Fantastic space to get comfortably away. It was easy to reach, located just outside the main road of Perth. We had a big snowfall during our trip, and the laneway was plowed before any of us were up to even hear the truck. The space is really neat. It is an educational space during the week, so there are lots of neat things around the house to touch and interact with, including traditional kids toys, but also elements brought inside from nature (birds nests, plant cuttings and pieces, even some small animal bones). All this is to encourage a sense of wonder and exploration in kids. This extends to outside where the yard includes several different areas to creatively play. Our kids were too young to do much, but older kids would be entertained for sure. We had two just toddlers in our group, and the space inside was well equipped for them, including baby gates, and a crib. There is one room on the main floor if anyone has trouble with multiple stairs; there is also a good sized bathroom on the main floor. If you've got a group of 2-5 couples with kids, this is a great space. Close to Perth and all the amentities you might have forgotten from home, but far enough away that you feel you're on a break. It's adjacent to Hwy 7 and a train line, but the noises were very minimal. A nice surprise to look out and see the train, rather than a disruption.

    Kristin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect get away with our kids over the holidays. There was a fire pit for marshmallows, play structures for the kids, and bunnies! A perfect family adventure not too far from home.

    Meghan2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Overall truly a great place to escape with a family - both young and old. Has everything for kids from games, puzzles, toys to endless things for them to discover and have fun with outside. A very spacious place, we comfortably slept 7 adults and 2 kids, along with a roomy main floor with multiple family rooms to sit back and relax. Can't say enough positive things about this place, a truly special space!

    Sean2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very inspiring, playful and restful space! a very beautiful experience!

    Amy2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of room for a group of 8 of us to spend a weekend with all the amenities we needed. A great place to escape to!

    Siobhan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This unassuming place is a well-kept secret of quaintness, cleanliness, and lots of space. We were only 4 people visiting town for a wedding but, with the 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large kitchen, dining room, and living room, 8 people would be very comfortable. We had no children with us, but the set up is IDEAL for kids and their parents (wish we'd brought some kids with us!) The place had been freshly cleaned when we arrived, and Robyn happened to be onsite and gave us a quick tour around the grounds. She is 5-star friendly and welcoming! The kitchen and bathrooms had all the must-have and nice-to-have amenities, including bedding and towels. It's an old farmhouse with addition(s) put on so there are some stairs to navigate. The lower bedroom and bathroom is ideal for anyone who can't do stairs. We were there in September,so didn't need the heat or AC, but it looks like there are portable AC units and baseboard heating. The only noise we heard at night was trains going by (and it was just the sound of them running on the tracks, no whistles) and roosters in the morning! Robyn was quick to reply to all my questions, including providing some restaurant recommendations, and she did a quick check in by messaging to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a country-setting retreat that is just a few minutes away from downtown Perth.

    Ann2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and nice quiet location. Comfortable beds and tons of space. Perfect for families

    Steven2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The house is beautiful and we loved the lay out of the kitchen and living area. There was plenty of room and the bedrooms were comfortable. The toys, games and play structure were well used by my young niece and nephew. The kitchenware and utensils were a bit light and the many of the light switches don't work, which made things a bit tricky the first night, but all in all we made it work! I loved that guests are encouraged to reduce their waste and explore natural setting. Robyn was quick to respond and answer questions, which was much appreciated! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

  • Was my second time staying at this AirBnb in Perth. It was an amazing stay as always. Perth is a great town with a lot to offer and this place is right in the heart of it. The entire place is very clean and organized; accurate pictures. Martin and Randa were very swift to answer any questions I had and the check in /check out was very smooth. Will definitely be booking this spot again for our next stay in Perth.

    David2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect location in Perth. You can walk everywhere. The property is a heritage building which comes with a unique layout. Super clean with everything you could possibly need. Even a bottle of wine to welcome us. You must be able to carry luggage up two flights of stairs but that was made clear in the description. Would absolutely stay again.

    Andrea 2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A great space! Clean, spotless and stylish. Right on the main street in beautiful historic Perth, walking distance to everything. Martin is quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We would definitely recommend this space to any friends or family and will be sure to stay again when we come back.

    Larry And Alida2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Martin and Randa's place was exactly what we needed. We live in Kanata and needed an escape from our hectic lives to decompress! The living room is very cozy, Netflix available plus the breeze and sounds of the water outside. Comfort is top notch, aromatherapy, wonderful mattress, great shower and perfect location. We got take out breakfast directly across the street Saturday morning. While Perth is lacking in a variety of restaurants that use fresh ingredients, we managed to find the Rocky River Cafe. We went there for Friday and Saturday dinner, plus Sunday brunch out in the courtyard. Highly recommend! Back to the accommodations..It would quite easy to prep a meal here with a bakery, butcher on the same street. If you don't have everything you need, it's an easy walk down to grab extras. We always travel with my own salt n pepper grinder after being annoyed on previous trips . Having been to numerous Airbnb's in Canada and the US, this one hits the high marks and it's barely an hour from home:)

  • A beautiful and clean space perfectly located in the cute town of Perth. Close enough to some amazing restaurants and sites that kept us occupied during our stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The self checkin went seamlessly. We parked the car and didn’t move it all weekend because the location was a short walk to all attractions and restaurants. The rooms were modern and comfortable and came with a well equipped kitchen. There were some lovely added touches which I won’t spoil the surprise for you. Highly recommend the Martins as hosts and staying in this beautiful space.

  • We had a wonderful time relaxing by the fireplace and snowshoeing. Hanne and Robert were amazing hosts. They took the time to show us the alpacas and answer all our questions about these lovely animals :) Highly recommended if you want to get away from the city!

    Mireille2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here. Hanne and her husband were lovely hosts and very accommodating. The farm and cottage are beautiful and the alpacas are wonderful! It was great to be able to visit the barn and learn more about the alpacas. We had issues with cellphone reception (rogers) so just a heads up before you go there. They had Wi-Fi so it wasn't a problem.

    Alexandra2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, and cozy getaway this is the perfect place! My boyfriend and I loved the area and being able to go on a beautiful walk to see the stunning lake was just perfect. Hanne and Robert are such lovely hosts! They gave us a tour of the barn, recommendations of what to do during our stay, and were also there to answer any questions we had! During the first night of our stay there was a bad storm that caused a power outage but Hanne and Robert quickly came over to supply some more flashlights and candles, we had a nice romantic dinner! The beds were also really comfortable and made for a good nights sleep! We have no complaints, we will definitely be returning!

    Gabby2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Hanne and Robert's place. Very clean and spacious cottage and it was great to spend sone time with the alapacas. Highly recommended!

    Adam2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hanne's place was lovely, we highly recommend a visit. Our kids (ages 3 and 5) had a lot of fun feeding the alpacas, saying hi to their dogs, and playing on their sweet playground. We were warmly welcomed and got an excellent little tour of the barn to meet the animals. The cottage is spacious and picturesque with lots of windows to watch the clouds and alpacas -we had some interesting storms during our visit. The beds were extra comfy, you are sure to sleep well. Pick up some cheese from the Back 40 cheese folks if you happen to be there on Saturday (only open on Saturday, and just 8 mins drive away). Hanne and Robert have great handmade alpaca items for purchase, so don't leave without checking out the store!

    Adrienne2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hanne and Robert were wonderful hosts. Very welcoming, helpful and kind. Our stay began with a welcome gift of a beautiful bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine. The last night Robert took my husband and son out to do some fishing and they had a great time. Hanne and Robert were close by to answer any questions and offer any help. The house was clean and clearly represented in the photos. They were lovely hosts and the alpacas were a very fun and interesting bonus.

    Gwen2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hanne's place is comfortable, beautiful and welcoming. The alpacas and the store are one-of-a-kind, and both Hanne and her husband are so welcoming and accommodating. We look forward to coming back some day soon!

    Alex2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Hanne and Robert were amazing hosts from beginning to end. They have a beautiful property and it was a special treat to be able to see the alpacas and purchase some items that were made with their fleece. They were very helpful and warm. This was one of our top stays at any Airbnb, a truly unique experience. Thank you so much Hanne and Robert and we look forward to coming again!

Stunning lake view Private entrance, balcony, hot-tub This unit is a private loft, attached to the main house, with its own deck with hot tub and BBQ, a second floor balcony with deck chairs and stunning view of Calabogie Lake. Manitou Mountain hiking trail is across the street. Calabogie Peaks 4 minutes away. 15 minutes to Calabogie Motorsports Park

  • Cheryl’s Place is a beautiful loft in a serene location. It had everything we needed for a great weekend on the slopes of Calabogie Peaks. I would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a great stay. Very nice clean place. Would recommend it to others and would definitely book again.

  • Great communication and a beautiful place surrounded by magnificent nature

    Ra2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at The Loft over the weekend! Nice location with lake access, a very quiet and private area. Cheryl was super quick and helpful with her responses and made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner. Would recommend this place to others!

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was amazing; pride of ownership as well as the great location really exceeded our expectations. With the hot tub and great location surrounded in privacy, the balcony for our morning coffee, and the dock available for when we went kayaking; Cheryl's Loft had it all! The home was very clean as well as had all the expected amenities and more. The local beers left in the fridge was a nice added touch as we enjoyed them while cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. We didn't use any of the television equipment or speakers throughout the loft and hot tub but it was available. All in all I would highly recommend Cheryl's Loft to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, a weekend away with a few friends, or a small family weekend away.

    Brandon2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a fabulous weekend at this beautiful little oasis in the mountains for a weekend of spring skiing. With great weather we treated ourselves to ribs on the BBQ on the balcony (with gorgeous views I might add). A well stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze. The hot tub was the perfect finish to a great day of skiing. Looking forward to coming back.

    Amanda2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl and her husband have a beautiful space with an even better view. They provided a warm welcome to their cozy loft and were so kind to be concerned about my safety and well-being while I was there for a week on my own. The kitchen was well stocked to make cooking easy. The bedding was lovely and cozy. And the hot tub was the piece de resistance. I can't wait to return.

    Tanya2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the Loft was fantastic. Communication was plentiful with the host before arrival. It was originally anticipated that the hot tub would not be working and Cheryl gave us the option of cancelling. We decided to keep our reservation and thankfully it was working again before we arrived (we were notified of this as well!). Check in was a breeze and it was a really nice touch that there was coffee and a couple of local craft beers waiting for us in the fridge. The space was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The sheets on the bed were very very soft. The ease of access to the water was a bonus point, we definitely want to return in the summer. I certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay.

  • A lovely location in the heart of Perth, paired with Marcel's wonderful hospitality. Definitely a great place to stay.

    Eric2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Marcel was absolutely amazing. He was very sociable and kind and the house was extremely clean and cozy. Great location and Marcel was the life of the party!

    Ali2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Marcel was a great host who went out of his way to make my stay there comfortable.

    Neil2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I did not end up staying at Marcel's place because my plans changed last minute. However, I would highly recommend booking with Marcel based on my experience with him as a host. Leading up to my stay he was very communicative and responded promptly. He really made the entire process simple and stress free. I can't speak on behalf of the place itself but based on my communication experience with Marcel I expect nothing but outstanding hospitality. I highly recommend Marcel's place and would stay again (or I guess for the first time!) with him if I am ever back in Perth.

    Marisa2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Marcel was a great host, even when he was travelling out of town he made sure there was someone we could access in person if we had questions. Perfect spot to stay, was easy to walk to restuarants, pubs, Stuart park, farmers market and more. I would definitely stay again!

  • Great stay at Marcel’s for a wedding! Perfect location in Perth, the wedding was at Code’s Mill, 5 min walk away. Marcel was very friendly - we weren’t there long but it was perfect for us.

Rustic cabin on the banks of the Tay river 5 mins from Perth. Very private, solar powered, gas cooking, outhouse, fishing, canoe/ kayaking, swimming, train tracks about 3/4 of mile away, so you might hear that lonesome whistle blow.Fire wood and propane are provided
Situated about 20 feet from the bank of the Tay River, shaded by a large oak and ash tree, on thirty acres of river front property...there are no neighbors although I am close if you need anything..very private and picturesque. Great swimming and canoeing /kayaking/ bird watching ..lounging..sitting by the fire..what can I say... it's a piece of paradise . There is one double bed, a sleeping platform for one with a foam mattress ..and room for another mattress on the floor..there is also lots of room to set up tents for extra people. Two night min stay. The bed is a firm thick foam mattress this is because the mice don't get into it during the winter.this is a rustic cabin not the holiday inn..and depending on the time of day yes you can hear the road ..but you are still very secluded from it....fire wood and propane for the BBQ and indoor oven are provide..fire wood is meant forsmall evening/night fires only..if more is required for daytime cooking or longer fires etc. it can be provided at an extra cost ,the canoe and kayaks are there for your use as are the hamocks, ice for the fridge/ice box and drinking /cooking water are also provided..
Well i think i have said it all...I love the river and all it has to offer.. and I think you will too. Cheers

Welcome to our award-winning home! Enjoy this charming, peaceful bedroom at the back of the house - original pine floors, super comfortable bed with antique wicker headboard, quality linens and towels, antique rocking chair, and plenty of storage. Relax and unwind in this beautiful property, located in a quiet area, only one block from the centre of town - ideal for exploring Ontario's prettiest town. If you need two rooms, see Warm & Characterful Perth Heritage Home, our other listing.
The bedroom has a very comfortable queen sized bed and a closet with ironing board/iron. There is also a desk/chair. Bathroom with toilet, sink, jacuzzi tub & shower. Soap, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer and towels are supplied for your convenience. We have high speed wifi, with details in the room. Original pine flooring. Lovely big backyard with extensive flowerbeds, gazebos (one screened in for dining), ponds with soothing waterfall. Easy to walk to restaurants, cafes, Stewart Park, golf course, shops, a superb art gallery "Studio 87", supermarket and more. Close to Ottawa, Kingston, Westport, Almonte, Rideau Ferry, and all that this beautiful area has to offer - hiking, farmers markets, art galleries, antiques, maple syrup, lakes and rivers galore. We love our town and want to share it with others! Please note: The house is not air-conditioned, but it is very well-insulated. However, in a heat wave, the room does get warm. We provide fans for your comfort, and if you leave the window open at night (and close it during the day with the blind down), the room cools down. **We also have another queen bedroom and a single, should you want another room or to rent out the entire top floor of the house.
We are close to everything, at the quiet end of the main street through Perth.

  • Faith and Richard are wonderful hosts and lovely people. The room was beautiful and serene, and the house so gorgeous. The bed is extremely comfortable, made up with quality linens. And the space super quiet and private. This is amazing value. Book it, because you will be so pleased you did. Not to mention the precious greeting we received by their collie Findley... who could be a stand-in for the famous Lassie!

We just renovated this lovely little space on the water in a very special corner of the world, Sheridans Rapids. The house itself is up on piers and nestled among giant cedars giving you the feeling of being in a treehouse. It is on a piece of property that boasts a meandering river on 3 sides and also has an island. The entire side facing the river has floor to ceiling windows and glass doors making your experience very unique.
The master bedroom has a King sized bed. The first loft has a King sized bed and is accessible by a loft ladder. The second loft has a Queen and is also accessible by a ladder. (While the lofts are really cool, they were designed to do in a pinch and are not full bedrooms.) There is also a pull out couch with a Queen, so in total you can sleep 8 people comfortably. This is a truly unique space making you feel like you are quite in touch with nature.
We are in Lanark Highlands with all sorts of things to do in the local area. Visit lanarkcountytourism.com to see all of the great adventures that await you!

Enjoy life in our Farmhouse! Originally built in 1880 and given new life with a complete renovation and addition in 2016. Located on a country road with direct access to the snowmobile trail, this house is a great getaway with all the luxuries of home! On the edge of Wheelers Pancake House property, guests will have access to the facilities 9am-3pm.
1 hour from Ottawa, 30 minutes from Perth and 75 minutes from Kingston. Located 8 minutes from Dalhousie Lake. Details on the house: Wrap around porch on three sides of the house. Linens, dishes, and toiletries are included. Excellent well water for drinking. There is one step up on the porch but then the rest of the main level is accessible. The stairs to the second level of the house are on the steeper side and a little uneven. Radiant floor heating and central air conditioning. The Farmhouse was originally built in 1880 by settler family. In 1936 Mary and Clarence Robinson lived here until Vernon and Judy Wheeler (owners of Wheelers Pancake House) purchased it in 1972 because of the beautiful maple trees and Vernon's dream to make maple syrup. Vernon and Judy already had a home so they severed off the Farmhouse from the 200 acre maple bush and sold the house to the Ward's. Roughly 40 years pass and Vernon purchased the Farmhouse back, with hopes to share our piece of heaven with others.
The Farmhouse isn't within walking distance to anything except Wheelers Pancake House. The closest village is McDonalds Corners which has a friendly general store that has all the essentials. Here is a website with things to do in McDonalds Corners: http://www.mcdonaldscornerscountrytour.com/
  • Beautifully located, very secluded apart from some car and snowmobile traffic to the pancake house that you can hardly hear. Tracy was a gracious host and made sure we were comfortable and happy. House sleeps 13 comfortably and the living room is cozy and sits plenty as well. Visiting Wheelers Pancake House was a treat, beautiful artifacts from the surrounding are and an interesting history to learn about in the Maple Syrup industry!

    Donald2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's house was perfect for our annual ladies weekend away. Check in and out was easy, house was clean and kitchen was well stocked with cookware and glasses. The spacious cozy living room comfortably sat 11-12 people. Tracy is easy to communicate with , quick to respond and very accommodating. I would highly recommend the Farmhouse! <3

  • I rented the farmhouse for accommodations for my wedding this past weekend. It was the absolute perfect place for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready in. We loved everything about Tracy’s place. She was so easy to communicate with, and the farmhouse was spotless upon our arrival. Thank you so much Tracy! We would come back here in a heartbeat!

    Christine2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Tracy for the amazing experience at the farm house. The hospitality was exceptional. We would love to return again in the future and will certainly be recommending the farm house to others!

  • Tracy's place was perfect. A group of us stayed for 4 nights as we were doing some night work in the area. The place was spotless, with plenty of space, and super comfy couches. Tracy was very quick to respond when we had questions. The location was in a nice quiet spot, but with easy walking distance to the Pancake House made it super convenient for a late breakfast stop. Everyone had a great time. Hopefully we will be back next year!

  • We enjoyed our Civic long weekend at the Farmhouse. Spacious, well organised and supplied. Hosts are prompt and responsive to our needs. The bunk bed setup is ideal as our group have kids and they can share time together. A plus for the Wheeler Pancake house.

  • Nice cottage away from the noise of the town, a lot of forest and nature all around, big indoor space, lots of seating in the living and dining area, lots of beds in the bedrooms and a very welcoming host! Also a bunch of trails to walk in the forest around, overall a pleasant experience away from the city.
