*As seen on The Great Staycation: Dot's Farm, BBC 1 HD* Cosy up in the hut with free ranging hens for neighbors. There's a full size double bed, table, microwave, kettle & water storage. The hut is easy to heat with the electric heater or you can go old school & use the wood burner. There is hot & cold running water & a loo close by at the farm. Please note the cost is the same whether it is one guest or two, so why not bring a chum along :) Nosy at our farm on insta @cronkshawfold
The Shepherd's hut provides a comfy double bed which will be made up with bedding and blankets on your arrival. Other facilities include a fold out table hidden under the main table and chairs which can be used inside or carried out onto the spacious veranda so you can easily write/ paint/relax/work indoors in the cosy hut or outside with views over the valley. The hut also has a woodburning stove for heating, an electric heater for instant cosyness if you don't want to bother with the fire and two side boards with a microwave, storage container for water and a small kettle. There is cutlery, crockery and a cool box you can take over to the hut the kitchenette. The cabin is basic with only one double plug socket. There is no running water - there is a large container of water in the hut for you and more water can be found close by along with toileting facilities. The Shepherds hut provides the perfect simple get away for those on a limited budget wanting to get away from it all and live the simple life. Guests who will be arriving in the dark/ in winter time who aren't keen on navigating in low light should bring a torch to find your way to the hut as the path to it is unlit. This is because we have an abundance of rare wildlife on the farm including bats and owls (which you will likely see) which need the dark to be best able to hunt for their dinner. Useful things to bring: A flannel/ wet wipes for washing and a towel A torch Wellies CHECK IN is any time at all from 5pm onwards - it's self check in so it doesn't matter at all when you arrive. You won't disturb anyone if you arrive in the middle of the night after a night out/ long drive. Check out is 10am. If you watched us on the BBC and saw we also have a hot tub, we're currently figuring out the best way to set up a system so guests can book to use it when they get here. It will definitely be available to use from March, but only ~40% chance we'll get it sorted by December (but we're working on it!) It'll cost £15 per hour to hire out the tub for 2 people.
Neighbourhood updated The farm is tucked away off the private Alden road, this is a quiet place to stay with no street lights shining in through the windows or cars driving past. A short walk away is Helmshore textile museum where you can explore the rich history of the cotton, wool and linen industry here in this part of Lancashire. The museum also holds the local farmers market on the first Sunday of every month in the car park. WALKING We are situated minutes away from a bridleway that takes you up to peel tower, which lends spectacular views over Manchester. Haslingden grane is about a 25 minute walk away and is a great spot for bird watching. There is a walk opposite the farm that takes up the large stone at the tip of Musbury tor. EATiNG The cotton house is a modern bar with a nice atmosphere some great cocktails and good food. A little further up from that is the local shop Neary’s which is usually stocked with all your necessities including extra firewood. We are a ten minute drive from Ramsbottom, a popular alternative town in greater Manchester that has some great eateries, The Mousetrap and Eagle and Child are fantastic places to eat and drink. It also has the only plastic free shop this side of Manchester, ‘plentiful’. The second Sunday of every month you'll find the farmers market here. PUBS Back on Helmshore road in between the cotton house and Neary’s is the station hotel. there are no airs or graces here but it has friendly locals and the station hotel has a pool table a beer garden. There is also Robin Hood pub which is on the way to Haslingden Grane and has a lovely beer garden and is dog friendly. At the foot of peel tower, is the shoulder of mutton which is a popular stopover from the walk. SIGHTS There is a bus stop 25 minutes walk away that has regular buses to Manchester. A steam railway that goes from Rawtenstall to bury through Ramsbottom, (if you listen closely you can hear it in the distance on the farm) The link will tell you more information. http://www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk/plan-your-day-out/destinations/ramsbottom.aspx We are just 30 minute drive from Pendle hill, a hour away from the forest of Bowland and an hour and a half drive away from those wanting to explore the lake district.
  • Cosy hut, perfect stay to get away from it all.

  • Loved this place, nice to sit and watch the rams grazing from the back window of the hut. A great place to do some mediation, get away from the city, and relax

  • We stayed at Dot's farm as a group of four - we booked the Shepherd's Hut and the Woodland Yurt. We were mildly concerned about whether we were mad for booking to stay on a hill farm in February on the third consecutive weekend of weather warnings, but it all added to the experience. Both the hut and the yurt were super cute, quaint and quirky. Clean, tidy and had everything you need for a cosy night away. We spent most of our evening down in the yurt with the log fire burning, playing board games and drinking wine. Plenty spacious enough for the four of us and it is just the cutest, most magical place ever. It warmed up lovely with the fire on (despite it raining and blowing a gale outside) and the little touches such as the vintage furniture and fairy lights make you feel like you're at a festival. A good night's sleep was had by all and we just loved the ambience of the beautiful farm in general. We'll be back in the summer and looking forward to trying the treehouse next. All hail the fantastic Dot and the wonderful Cronkshaw Fold Farm. Get yourselves booked in whilst you can!

  • Second time visited on the farm. We've had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back.

    Chloe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This a delightful little getaway at the shepherd's hut. Lovely, cosy and thoughtfully prepared space. The farm is really welcoming when you go for water, crockery, wood etc and to use the toilets. You definitely need wellies and torch! The work you can see going on in the farm is inspiring in their commitment to protecting the environment and in community projects. Young and old children will love this place 💖

    Jill2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very interesting and beautiful place. Demanding physically - that's part of the joy of staying in a shepherd's hut. I am in my 80's and the mud slope was a challenge I was pleased to survive - not without some groans! Take wellies or footwear with good grip. Ice added to the excitement, and lots of snow as I left. That's what you want in the Pennines. Also, be good at lighting a fire. I left an easy start for the next person. I really enjoyed the solitude, though your cat did his best to provide company. I'd love to come again.

The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with kettle, microwave oven and chiller. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.
Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond through the tree branches and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house.
We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road.
  • It's hard to find the words to explain how amazing this place is. Tranquil, beautiful and a little bit of heaven tucked into a gorgeous bit of Yorkshire. It was lovely and cosy and very comfortable. Tony was an amazing host, I didn't get chance to meet Barbara but I will be back so hopefully will get the pleasure next time. The outdoor shower was just amazing. The weather was fairly mild but it was an exhilarating experience none the less. I can't wait to visit again.

    Lynsey2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures and descriptions have literally made me feel excited ever since booking this trip and whilst they were incredibly accurate, nothing prepared me for the overwhelming beauty of the space, as we arrived. Tony was incredibly welcoming and supportive and explained everything to us with so much patience, although we had arrived quite late. The view from the bed in the mornings was probably my highlight, and I don't believe I could put into words how very calming, nourishing and relaxing the little cabin was. On the last day, we braved the elements and tried the alfresco shower and it was such a surreal experience. Despite the cold temperature outside, the water was hot enough to not even notice the cold, and the views were simply breathtaking. Both the main cabin and the smaller "bathroom" were decorated with so much love for details and provided us with everything we could have possibly dreamt of. We had no reception whatsoever, which was great to just be in the moment and take everything in. We went to Hebden Bridge twice for food and coffees and had lovely vegan food and stacked up on some snacks and water. The fairy lights outside the door, as well as the smaller lamps inside the cabin always invited us to stay in, read a lot of books or play chess. Overall this was one of the most beautiful holidays I have ever been on and we are more than excited to hopefully come back next year again.

    Eva2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place even in the rain. Beautiful surroundings truly at one with nature. On arrival Tony & Barbara shared information about the local area and walls. Then to the cabin which was very spacious and tranquil. 100% recommend this place. Would like to book again when I can find a date it’s free, that’s just how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!

    Amy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin and really enjoyed our time there! Feels very secluded despite being close enough to the house in case we needed anything; the perfect balance! Tony and Barbara provided some very handy tips for walks around the area, as well as delicious flapjacks and great selection of hot drinks and breakfast options. Really accommodating of dairy free too, which was much appreciated! Good location, with Hebden Bridge only a short drive or bus journey away. Such wonderful accommodation. Will definitely be looking to stay again next year!

    Harriet2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Barbara and Tony's, really friendly hosts and beautiful location with lots to do nearby. The cabin itself was really unique and Barbara and Tony provided us with useful ideas for walks and were really quick with communication

    Simran2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the tree cabin for a little break away. It was absolutely beautiful, great location & the hosts were lovely adding thoughtful touches to the stay including Tony’s homemade delicious flapjacks 😃

    Lauren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • You have to experience the cabin to understand it's charms. It was everything the details told us but Tony and Barbara's extra bits were great. Homemade flapjack on our arrival was delicious along with all the tea, coffee etc which was so helpful but on arriving the peace was something else. Absolutely no phone signal or WiFi in the unit helped us relax but you cannot stay in the cabin and not relax. We never touched the car until we left walking everywhere and wallowing in the views but the final joy was on the morning we left jumping into the outdoor shower was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you for sharing you little bit of paradise.

    Rosemary2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such lovely hosts, gave us a proper tour of the area when driving back from the station and invited us in to show us some local routes. A very relaxing stay and well worth the money.

Private, spacious, self contained dwelling. Modern bathroom with walk in shower, WC, sink. Private kitchen with under counter fridge freezer, sink, combi microwave oven, single induction hob, kettle, toaster, fitted units and work top. We provide tea, coffee, filtered water and continental breakfast (bagels, butter, jam, cream cheese, fresh orange, cereals & muesli, yogurts and milk). If you have any dietary requirements please let me know and I'll cater for you. King size bed with hotel quality bedding. Smart TV, free Wi-Fi. Robes and slippers provided. Dining table, plates, cutlery and glasses provided. Access is via the driveway and car park with lovely views of our large garden, stables and paddock. We stable our 2 horses here all winter and usually at the weekend in the summer months. We have a "wood fired" hot tub that has been imported from Sweden. This is not connected to any power and is heated purely by burning wood, the only noise you will hear is the crackling of the fire (no humming of jets that you would get in an jacuzzi powered by electric and no chemicals). It is so peaceful and so many guests have said how well they have slept. The tub can be used with prior arrangement as it takes around 3 hours to heat, in summer a little less. It is a fantastic way to relax, unwind and view the stars, whatever the weather. There is an option of a free standing large umberella that we can put up in the rain, but not if it is too windy. We heat the tub to around 39, 40 degrees but you can add more wood to the fire to heat up or cool via the cold water hose, whatever your preference!! Or cool yourself down with our cold water bucket shower!! Each time the tub is used we clean, refill, heat and then will leave you in peace to enjoy the wonderful experience. You can use the tub for as long as you wish, but you will need to top up with wood yourselves. Open a bottle of wine and chill!! (Please note that use of the tub is at your own risk) There is a picnic table, chairs and bbq area behind the "Getaway" for your usage and weather permitting you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet within our large garden. We are very dog friendly but please be aware that our horses live here in the winter and will be in the paddock during the day, Business Travellers - if you are travelling on your own please message me and I can offer a discounted price. Whilst the worries of Covid-19 are everywhere you can be assured that our property is thoroughly cleaned. You have access to open spaces and I can easily stay at a safe distance. The hot tub is also thoroughly cleaned between each guest with the addition of chlorine to offer extra protection.

  • Great place for a relaxing few days away! Peaceful, spotlessly clean space with a great host who is always willing to help. Loads of recommendations for things to do and places to eat are available which is so helpful! It was amazing to have a hot tub right outside the door too that was warm whenever we needed.

  • This property is absolutely lovely. A perfect little gem! We only booked for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. Sue greeted us upon arrival (along with the gorgeous and very friendly Charlie!) She showed us around the grounds and left us to settle in straight away, but was on hand should we have needed anything during our stay. The space was lovely, really well thought out and lots of little touches making it even more special. The hot tub was the highlight of our stay. Sue had it all set up and ready to go for us and we were lucky to have really decent weather all evening - Once we were in we didn't want to get out!! Everything was clean and fresh and we felt right at home from start to finish. We would love to go back again at some point! Would highly recommend this place!

  • Adorable little getaway, it’s like a home away from home. The host was friendly and really responsive and has great attention to cleanliness and detail. The Hot tub is a great addition and is a must if you come here. Overall a great experience and I would definitely come here again! Highly recommend Sue’s place to others

  • Had a perfect weekend at Goose Dub Getaway. Thanks for the extra birthday touches. The woodfired hot tub was amazing, even during Storm Dennis! We will be highly recommending this place to friends and family. Would definitely stay again.

  • Spent one night here as a surprise night away with my boyfriend. Beautiful location with lovely hosts Susan and Neil and especially Charlie their dog. Heating was put on for us immediately and even lit the hot tub for the evening. Was beautifully decorated inside with lots of little touches such as board-games, hot water bottles and robes and slippers. We were left to make ourselves at home but Susan was only a message away if we needed to ask anything and she always responded quickly. In the morning we weren’t rushed to check out and got to walk down and see their 3 horses who are all very friendly and cheeky! We then checked out and went to spend a day at Southport and had a nice walk on the pier. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others! Thank you so much Susan and Neil x

A beautiful, spacious double room very close to Manchester city centre. The room has a wardrobe, a bedside cabinet and you are also free to use the kitchen and bathroom any time. The flat is only a 5-10 minute bus/taxi ride from Manchester city centre, or a 25 minute walk. You can also catch the Bury tram (Metrolink) to Queens Road station. The apartment is then only 5-7 minutes walk away. It is also close to Monsall tram station which is on the Rochdale line.
My place is a 3-bed flat just outside of Manchester city centre with a living area, newly-fitted kitchen and a bathroom. It is on the 2nd floor, up 2 short flights of stairs. The heart of Manchester is only a few minutes away from the flat and is perfect for anyone visiting Manchester for work or pleasure. The flat is well connected for public transport and there is a secure car park to the rear of the building. FOOTBALL FANS - you can get a direct tram to Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium from Queens Road which takes about 30-40 minutes, and the 53 bus gets you to Manchester City's Etihad stadium in less than 10 minutes. Alternatively, FC United play just up the road in Moston and their games are a fantastic experience!
The neighbourhood is very friendly and mostly residential. The apartment is right on Rochdale Road which leads straight into Manchester to the right and Harpurhey to the left. Harpurhey is a small town with a huge shopping centre which is also home to Manchester College, the Factory Youth Zone and the "world famous" Embassy Club!

  • I stayed in George's place for about 11 nights and it was fantastic. The place was clean, cozy and was overall, a really nice place to stay whether short term or long term like me. I had the freedom to cook, and it was nice to have free reign of the kitchen. The only thing I could nitpick was the room was a bit chilly but it might be because I'm not used to the cold. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and I highly recommend it.

  • What an amazing few days!! Absolute bliss if you want some peace and quiet away from every day life. What a beautiful location. Coming from a big city, this is the perfect break away! Perfect location, super quiet and peaceful but close enough to go to the shops etc. The lodge is very clean and has everything you need. Having Alexa, prime and the outside speakers was a great touch!! The hot tub was amazing, could have stayed in there all day and night!!! Angela was such an amazing host! So welcoming, friendly and helpful. Colin the cat was a personal favourite of mine! The dogs were adorable too and very well behaved! Beautiful horses in the field too. Being a huge animal lover, all of this just made our stay even better. There has no negative aspects to our stay and we will most definitely be returning!!! Thank you so much!!!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Sam‘s home! Sam is such a nice, welcoming person. We are very thankful that he drove us to the tram station on our last day in the rainy city. Moreover, the house is very clean and beautiful with three cute cats. Thanks a lot to Sam!

  • Great place to stop; it's not in the city centre, but it's excellent value for money on a restricted budget. It's spotless cleanliness-wise, kept in very good repair and you would not realise that cats live there too - 3 of them - they are so well behaved and so clean. Well worth the fee and I will stay with Sam again.

    Keith2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sam is very welcoming host. Provided all necessarities in home to make it 5 start hotel. Really clean, welcoming and warm home. Had 3 night stay with him and felt comfortable, safe and free to do things around at any time. Would recommend Sam with honesty. Oh and 3 lovely cats also made the stay more welcome and homely atmosphere.

  • Great Find, it was my first experience renting a room and not a whole apartment but Sam was so friendly and welcoming as were the three gorgeous cats I straight away felt comfortable. Both the room and house was very clean. Transport into the city only took 15 minutes and was so affordable, would definitely recommend staying here!

    Jon2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to relax, feel cosey but in a luxurious well maintained property look no further, you will no doubt love the indoor heated pool that’s all yours! With a stylish mini pad above that my teenage son found amazing, the log fire in the cottage kept us all warm and happy with large glass of wine in hand just chilling out, it was a great holiday and sad it wasn’t longer, but we will definitely book again!

    Jill2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at this beautiful and quaint cottage (with the added benefit of the pool house and hot tub). Couldn't fault the place at all, it exceeded our expectations. My five-year-old niece loved the pool, and we had a job of getting her to get out when it was time for bed! The house has fantastic amenities, and the added special treats from the host were well received and appreciated (wine for the adults and treats for the children). The cottage does feel like it is in the middle of nowhere, but this was ideal for our family weekend away. The two neighbouring cottages were friendly too. The cottage is ideally placed for going on long or short walks in the surrounding countryside. Plenty of farm animals to be seen! We took our own provisions, as the nearest shop is roughly a 20-minute drive away, but the cottage does have some existing provisions (tea, coffee, sugar etc). The towels and robes were greatly appreciated too. The house is well decorated, with some quirky accents (teapots) and really add to the farmhouse/cottage vibes. There are plenty of board games and quizzes to keep you busy on wet days, as well as the games room at the back of the property. The toy/ play area is also brilliant for children, again my five-year old-niece loved it. We would definitely stay again given the chance. Well worth the money!

  • We stayed at David's place for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday with family. The place is fantastic, facilities are on point, would highly recommend. David is ane excellent host, rapid replies, gives you all the information you need way in advance. Highly recommended!

  • Great house with loads to do and the pub down the road served brilliant food

    Thomas2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful family break at David’s cottage. Despite the horrendous weather, we had a fantastic time as there was so much to do. There are lots of beautiful walks accessible from outside of the front door and great amenities to enjoy at the cottage when we got back or if we just wanted to relax. We have a 10 year old who really enjoyed the pool and we all made very good use of the hot tub. There were lots of games, books and DVDs provided (which we didn’t actually need as the tv didn’t go on once). You really couldn’t ask for more to do here. Any issues we had (mainly due to the weather) were sorted out extremely quickly and David replied to messages within minutes. The only problem was that we wish we had longer! We will definitely be back!

    Eleanor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing stay. The pool was amazing.

    Carol2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was just as described and was all we hoped for and more. There was 5 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10 we all had an amazing time making great use of the pool and hot tub. The cottage was very spacious and had a lovely home from home feel with log fire and farm house kitchen. The children were kept occupied with all the toys and games, while the adults appreciated the complimentary wine and biscuits. Being being to walk to the local pub for a delicious sunday lunch was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

A lovely purple-themed private room with a single bed, drawers for storage. You are also free to use the kitchen and bathroom any time.
The heart of Manchester is only a few minutes away from the flat and is perfect for anyone visiting Manchester for work or pleasure The flat is well connected for public transport and there is a secure car park to the rear of the building.
  • My stay at George's was super comfortable. He gave me detailed instructions on how to get to the apartment , transportation to the city centre (place is very well connected) , tram card prices, etc. The room was very clean and there was tea and coffee for breakfast. Didn't see George much because he was working, but we had good communication on WhatsApp. I would definitely recommend!

My place is in West Bradford, a mile and a half from Clitheroe, with great views and countryside walks. Although there are no shops or pubs in the village itself, a fantastic restaurant is just a minute's walk away. You’ll love my cosy, compact cottage dating from the 1730's with an original beam. It is located in beautiful gardens bordering a babbling brook. A private patio overlooks the brook towards fields. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets).
CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS During the current time we are taking even greater care over cleaning the cottage. All surfaces are being wiped down with anti-bacterial and anti-virus cleaner. An anti-bacteria and anti-virus agent is being added when bedding and towels are laundered. If guests would prefer to bring their own bedding and towels they are welcome to do this. Weavers' Cottage is small but beautifully formed and oozing with character. The stone built cottage is located opposite our house and has been operating as a self-catering holiday cottage for the past twelve years. The studio accommodation has everything you need: double bed, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, two easy chairs, breakfast bar, separate shower and toilet, full central heating, TV with DVD player.
West Bradford is a relatively small village community one and a half miles from Clitheroe. It is a rural community with a number of farms and acres of farmland with excellent walks within yards of the cottage. The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists. The village does not have any shops but the nearby town of Clitheroe, has a very good range of shops and supermarkets. Whilst there are limited amenities within the village The 3 Millstones restaurant is less than a hundred yards from the cottage. It is open Wednesday to Sunday and offers excellent food at very reasonable prices: there is an early diner menu Wednesday to Friday 6.00 to 7.00 pm with two courses for approximately £13. There are always two guest ales on tap and there is a very good wine list. The food is consistently excellent, we eat there at least once a month and have never been disappointed. One mile down the road is Waddington, a very picturesque village with three popular and well regarded pubs and The Country Kitchen which provides a hearty breakfast at reasonable cost. Both The Waddington Arms and The Lower Buck are dog friendly.
  • Absolutely stunning place to stay with the stream bubbling behind the cottage and friendly ducks wandering around the garden 🦆. Inside was toasty warm and had everything we needed (including good tea bags). Loved it!

  • Cosy little cottage. We needed accommodation for a wedding at nearby Eaves Hall, this place was perfect for us. Andrew and Susan were friendly and greeted us at check in. Its in a very old building but inside it was modern and heating was good enough even in December. They also have facilities for self catering which made it felt more homely.

There are a couple of convenience stores close by. Restaurants and supermarkets are in the city centre. There is a breakfast available for you from 7.30am. You will find a selection of breads, jams, yoghurt and fruits on the counter for you to help yourself to. We usually have dairy free milks and spread available too. Your room has a comfy double bed. You are able to get the best of both worlds during your stay. Please keep in mind, you are in Salford. Manchester is a stone's throw away from the busy centre of Manchester.
  • Vincent and Graham are exemplary hosts. They are very welcoming, and give very good advice to visit manchester (the free walking tour was great). Their house is sparkling clean, the breakfast is delicious, their son is really nice and quiet. I was visiting with my friend and our stay was great thanks to our hosts. The bedroom and bathroom are really comfortable. Everything is perfect! It is not right in the centre of the city but the 30min walk from the station was really easy. There are also buses (but we didn't take them) Thank you again for this stay, and also for the poutine :)

    Marion2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful place, near to the city center bu bus, very quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend

  • The accommodation was very modern and the city center was easily accessible by bus. The house is in a very nice neighborhood. The extremely courteous and friendly host is warmly recommended.

  • Highly recommend this apartment! Perfectly clean, stylish, comfortable house. Nice breakfast. Cutest and hospitality family!

    Daria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Spotless and stylish! Super comfy bed! Lovely welcoming hosts with the most adorable dog! Lovely touches such as a mini shampoo and soap being left out for your use on the bed, and the best brekkie I’ve seen provided by an airb&b. Cereal, toast, croissants, crumpets and fruit. Lots of condiments too with choices of milk. About a twenty min walk right into city centre, but buses very frequent from literally around the corner. Would definitely stay again.

    Alexandra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really great space, clean and tidy. It's a short walk away from the city center, and pretty cheap even if you decide to Uber your way downtown. The hosts are super nice and helpful. Couldn't have had a better stay, thank you! (Also, 100% worth a visit to Blue Caribou to taste their amazing poutine)

    Mariana2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

Our newly converted cottage is located 50 yards from the centre of Settle which has a excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops. The location, although central, is only yards from the National Park with stunning walks from the front door. Registry Cottage has 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The lounge/kitchen is on the first floor, which makes the most of the great views. There is also a relaxed seated mezzanine area. We are dog friendly.
The large upstairs space is vaulted with very tall windows bringing in masses of light. Above the kitchen there is a mezzanine area with two large armchairs and table with games, great for kids to do their own thing or adults to relax. The bedrooms are both very cosy and comfortable, the master bedroom has a comfortable chair for reading. The cottage (converted from the towns registry office) with all it's interesting features has been a real labour of love and we are extremely proud of it. N. B. During this difficult period we have altered our cleaning regime to pay extra attention (using disinfectant and steam cleaners) to areas that are touched regularly, such as doorknobs, drawer pulls, the toilet flush lever, faucet handles, remote controls, light switches, seating areas, etc. We have also supplied the cottage with plenty of tissue, disposable paper towels and hand soap. If there are any additional safeguards you require please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Super space extremely well located in the middle of Settle. 50 metres from Talbot pub that does good filling dinners useful after a days walking. The flat has a feeling of space and is well equipped. Would go again if we can find the time.

  • Such a fantastic place to find: central, cozy, roomy and we had everything we needed. We are stuffed full of Sydney’s roast lunch and enjoyed some lovely walks. Many thanks and we would love to come back.

  • We loved our stay at this beautiful house. The location was amazing and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing weekend. We will definitely be coming back.

    Samantha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay that as central to walks, pubs and a great town. Bruce was a great host with lots of advise. Very clean too!

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recently spent a couple of nights at a Bruce’s Cottage in the centre of Settle and really enjoyed my stay . The cottage is really well designed and comfortable and Bruce was a great host , he had very kindly switched the heating on and left milk and biscuits so I could make a brew when I arrived . Very much appreciated after a challenging drive up in the rain ! The cottage is ideally situated within the village and for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area . Will definitely be back !

    John2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had to cancel at the last minute due to ill health, Bruce responded really quickly to our enquires and was very helpful. We were very disappointed not to be able to stay in upside down in Settle.

    Debbie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gear place to stay, comfortable, cosy warm, quiet yet central to the lovely town. I would recommend this place for sure and hope to return a little later in the year. Thank you

  • A big thank to Andris. Extremely quick response. A place I would recommend to all of you if you are visiting Manchester.

    Steve2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay over night while we stopped in Manchester for a concert! The room itself has such beautiful interior design. Such a luxurious, new and clean feel and such a cheap price. We arrived at the same time as another guest staying - we parked in the driveway and they parked on the road side. I can’t fault anything - the room smelt divine, the space was clean, the en-suite was great as well, bed very comfortable. Our Uber into town was approx £5 which is super cheap. Only thing is that we wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thanks for the great stay.

    Kirsten2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Bobs place is fantastic if you’re looking for a relaxing place away from home. Debbie is most definitely a superhost who makes you feel welcome from the moment that you book. The apartment is spotless, cosy and warm, lots of little extras and a welcome pack awaited us which was a lovely touch, she also hung a birthday banner in the summerhouse which was a really sweet gesture. The on-site brewery is a fantastic place, if like us you like real ales then farm yard ales won’t disappoint. The hot tub space is private and extremely spacious and very clean. If you book you are sure to have a great time.

*As seen on The Great Staycation: Dot's Farm, BBC 1 HD* The perfect getaway for fellow outdoorsy families! Bring crumpets and brioche to toast on the fire while snuggled up on the sofa. Enjoy the stunning views across the farm and 'nature detective' activity packs for the kids. There's a double bed, futon single bed, travel cot, microwave, toaster & kettle. The hut is easy to heat with the electric heater or the fire. Nosy at our farm on insta @cronkshawfold
The Nature Detectives Headquarters provides a comfy double bed, a futon single bed and a travel cot. When you book just drop us a line with which beds you need making up and we will have them ready for your arrival. We made this place with nature loving families in mind so there are lots of outdoor nature related activities ready for you on the top shelf. Each activity is in it's own backpack so you can take it with you to go bug hunting/ nature colour matching/ bark rubbing and many more fun activities all with an explanation card of how to do them inside the bag to make life easy for the grown ups! The fold out table and chairs can be used inside or carried out onto the veranda so you can easily eat/draw/play indoors in the cosy hut or outside with views over the valley. There's a wood burning stove for heating and an electric heater for instant cosiness if you don't want to bother with the fire. Inside there's a kettle, microwave, toaster and a storage container for water. There is cutlery, crockery and a cool box. There is no running water - there is a large container of water in the hut for you and more water can be found close by along with toileting facilities though it should be noted there is no shower here. The Nature Detectives HQ provides the perfect simple get away for families wanting to get away from it all and live the simple life in the beautiful great outdoors. Uninterrupted family time where you can truly enjoy each others company. If it is icy on the farm road in the winter months park at the bottom of the hill (unless you're in a 4x4, in which case 1st gear, foot down!) If you have little kiddies call us as we're more than happy to help you up the hill with your gear if you're struggling. Things to bring: A flannel/ wet wipes for washing and a towel Wellies CHECK IN is any time at all from 3pm onwards - it's self check in so it doesn't matter at all when you arrive. You won't disturb anyone if you arrive in the middle of the night after a long drive. Check out is 10am. If you watched us on the BBC and saw we also have a hot tub, we're currently figuring out the best way to set up a system so guests can book to use it when they get here. It will definitely be available to use from March, but only ~40% chance we'll get it sorted by December (but we're working on it!) It'll cost £15 per hour to hire out the tub.
The farm is tucked away off the private Alden road, this is a quiet place to stay with no street lights shining in through the windows or cars driving past. It also has the only plastic free shop this side of Manchester, ‘plentiful’ which was set up and is run by my housemate Abbie! Go Abster! The second Sunday of every month you'll find the farmers market here. PUBS Back on Helmshore road in between the cotton house and Neary’s is the station hotel. there are no airs or graces here but it has friendly locals and the station hotel has a pool table and beer garden. There is also The Robin Hood pub which is on the way to Haslingden Grane and has a lovely beer garden and is dog friendly. At the foot of peel tower, is the shoulder of mutton which is a perfect distance away to feel you've earned one of their Sunday lunches or evening meals! SIGHTS There is a bus stop 25 minutes walk away that has regular buses to Manchester. A steam railway that goes from Rawtenstall to bury through Ramsbottom, (if you listen closely you can hear it in the distance on the farm) We are just 30 minute drive from Pendle hill, a hour away from the forest of Bowland and an hour and a half drive away from those wanting to explore the lake district.
  • Great location, easy to find following host instructions. Wonderful views, amenities basic but fine. Working farm but also other sites with guests so nice friendly feel. But also quiet and ideal to escape the world for some rest time. HQ was so cute and comfy, worried a bit about not being able to light fire in mid march but radiator made hut toasty enough anyway.. defo stay here again

    Elaine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really relaxing escape with gorgeous views over the countryside. The local village is a short walk and has some lovely pubs and restaurants.

  • We actually didn't end up staying the night as there are no wash facilities anywhere on site, this is listed but muggins here didn't read it properly and my wife had different ideas of a romantic night in a log cabin after a long haul flight. I can't fault Dot, this place is exactly what it says it is - just read the blurb and bring wet wipes!

    Tom2020-03-05T00:00:00Z

  • The house was amazing, not only was it really stylish and super clean but it’s location was brilliant. We even received recommendations from Richard on the locations of bars, restaurants and shops nearby, this was really helpful. The hot tub was fab, we all really enjoyed it. Even when we encountered a small problem with it Richard was very quick to reply and give a helping hand. Overall we all really enjoyed our stay at the beach house and would recommend to anyone. Especially due to the great hospitality of the hosts, Laura and Richard.

    Robbie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I must say we were blown away by Richard and Laura’s beautiful home! From the level of service provided by the hosts to the finishing touches in the home... it was more than we expected and truly exceptional! As a host myself, I look for key essential to help other host improve on their services. And with Richards home I really couldn’t pick any faults. We booked this for 10 of us celebrating a mates wedding and the property was spacious, modern and comfortable also the hot tub was amazing! I highly recommend this stay for couples, families or friends celebrating any occasions there was 10 of us and everyone slept comfortably. We are defiantly going to return in the summer!

    Saheem2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The hot tub and balconies are absolutely to die for. Breathtaking views of the sunset. Truly a special experience, to curl up in the hot tub with someone close and gaze into the galaxy all night long. We could have watched the stars all night... Richard and Laura left us to it but were prompt to respond if we needed anything. A simply special night.

Little Nook is the separate detached barn annexe to our home, Three Nooks. In the distant past it used to be a chicken shed. There are no neighbours save for a herd of cows so it is a very peaceful, private place. Towards the rear is a hot tub and tiny garden area accessible by the hot tub. There are wonderful uninterrupted views across the fields from the juliette balcony and a view down the driveway through the quirky round window. Peace and quiet reign. SkySports, box sets and Netflix.
🌼CORONA VIRUS NOTICE🌼 🧹🚿🧽🧴We would like to reassure our guests that at every changeover we are deepening our usual cleaning routine. This means that all surfaces:- door handles, light switches, furnishings and carpets are disinfected. All crockery will be throughly washed. All bed linen is washed on a 90 degrees cycle. The hot tub is changed and disinfected. 🚗🌊🚗🌊We are very lucky in terms of being a single unit in a remote location. When you come to us on your holiday you won’t see anyone else so in that respect we are an ideal holiday location for right now, particularly as travel abroad is severely disrupted. And don’t forget you have miles of empty sandy beaches 10 minutes drive away from Little Nook. 🌼🙏🌼 🙏So as long as you are feeling well, you are welcome to holiday at Little Nook. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼 There is a small outside space down one side of Little Nook which is a real sun trap with a bench looking over the fields. A brand new 6 seater hot tub has been installed with mood lighting and Bluetooth audio speakers. You have to climb through the hot tub to access the small secret garden with its festoon lights hanging from the trees. Little Nook is detached and very private with two car parking spaces directly in front of it’s door. Coming through the front door you will arrive in a large hallway with a slate floor. GROUND FLOOR Off here is the kitchen equipped with fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave, two barstools and small table. Milk, tea, herbal teas, coffee and sugar are provided. Likewise in the cupboard there is salt, pepper, oil and tin foil. Also on the ground floor is the shower room. Towels are provided for your stay together with shampoo and shower gel. UPSTAIRS The first floor runs the entire length of the property. It is huge. At one end with the circle window overlooking the winding driveway is ‘the bedroom area’ comprising of a double bed and two single beds. The middle section makes way for a dining table and chairs seating four. At the other end of Little Nook’s first floor is ‘the lounge area’. There are two leather sofas, an armchair, coffee table and the TV/DVD with Netflix, SkySports and SkyBoxsets. Down the winding driveway is a little lane surrounded by fields. We are the only property on the lane. We are very accessible to other places. We are situated between two A roads so there are good route links. When you are outside you can hear some traffic noise but not when inside Little Nook.
Set in the pretty village of Clifton, the village shop is half a miles walk from Little Nook and there is a large green to walk dogs on. There is a great selection of pubs within the local area of two miles and some wonderful walks in the parks of Preston, beaches of Lytham St Anne’s and Southport and Lytham Hall. The Lake District, Peak District and Manchester and Liverpool are all one hours drive away. Beautiful market towns and villages in the Ribble Valley and Becon Fell can be reached in 30 minutes drive. The cosmopolitan town of Lytham is 15 minutes drive away and is host to some wonderful eateries, bars, cafes and boutiques. For families the area is host to many child friending amenities:- Ribby Hall (swimming, woodland walks, boating, tennis, Segway, Lasertag, Waterwalkerz) is only 10 minutes drive away. Horse riding at Wrea Green - 10 minutes drive Penny Farm - horse farm - 10 miles away Blackpool Promenade with all its attractions - 30 minutes away Beach Huts at Lytham St Anne’s - 15 minutes drive Lytham - 15 minutes drive away - Kaos high wire indoor climbing, Lytham Hall and grounds, Park View award winning park with Eco-Pod.
  • The Little Nook is a fantastic get away and I would recommend to anyone! Really easy to get to and communication with host was great and quick throughout. Sharon even helped with putting the hot tub cover on and off. The place has everything you need and is so heated and comfy. It was windy at night so we didn't stay in hot tub late, but was fine going in the afternoon and the morning :) can't wait to go back!

  • Absolutely lovely place, we didn't want to leave.

    Jamie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful ever so quaint little place to stay. The home is spotlessly clean and decorated very tastefully. The hot tub was nice in the cold weather with a glass of Prosecco or two and it was nice to just escape the hustle and bustle to relax. Ralph and Sharon are great hosts and gave us some great tips on nearby pubs and restaurants. We shall definitely return in the summer.

  • Amazing time, thanks so much!

    Maria2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 1 night for my best friends 40th birthday. Beautiful place, lovely and clean, thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge and happy birthday banner put up. We loved the hot tub and watching Netflix. Thank you for your hospitality x

    Clare2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay! The hot tub is amazing, don't forget some flip flops to get to it. The cover can be a little hard work but well worth it once you are in. The indoor space is really nicely decorated and clean. Worth noting that the beds, dining room and living space are all one open plan room and on the first floor, so would have been very challenging with children. Sharon and Ralph were really helpful and responsive. We didn't have great weather but it's a beautiful location.

    Paul2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the little nook for my birthday, and had such a lovely stay , the upstairs area is a lot bigger than I expected which was great , I loved the layout . The decor is stylish and high quality . we had everything we needed and more , we will definitely come back to relax again thank you very much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ xx Nikki Alex and Megan

  • I have stayed at Jenny’s many times now and my reviews are all above. I can only confirm how lovely, comfortable, welcoming and thoughtfully presented and maintained Jenny’s studio is. This time I used buses to get in and out of Preston from there and it great! Easy with stops just round the corners and so so lovely to come back to. Sparkling clean, thoughtful essentials and extras, quiet, restful, beautiful, prompt and helpful communication. It’s perfect for me and I’ll go back again and again.

    Filomena2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny was a perfect host - both welcoming and extremely helpful. The accommodation was perfect for my needs - warm, quiet, comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my stay and it was a shame it only lasted two nights whilst I was working in the area.

  • Jenny's place is lovely. It's quiet, clean, comfortable, cosy and a great location too. Highly recommend.

    Joanne2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I am now a regular at Jenny’s lovely place so there are a few reviews by me here. Clean, comfortable, with little thoughtful touches like fruit in a bowl and local honey and breakfast items in cupboard and fridge, compostable food waste bags in a basket in the bathroom together with cleaning stuff, a desk and small telly and many other little things. Stylishly furnished and thought if, it’s a small room once the bed is made out but so so lovely to leave from and come back to if, like me, you have few full on days on a postgrad course at uni. Quiet area, restful vibes. It’s perfect for me and Jenny is very responsive and helpful if needed. I’m already booked ahead of time for my next visits to Preston.

Delphine and Clive were really interesting people with a wide knowledge of travelling themselves so it was interesting to hear about their experiences.

A cosy yet modern & secluded bungalow set in the countryside. With 1 double bedroom, a new bathroom, comfortable lounge with a fold out futon this is the ideal get away for peace and quiet. Situated in rural Preston close to the coast & river Wyre the location is perfect for walkers with Blackpool illuminations just a short drive away. There is easy access to Lancaster & the beautiful Lake District. Given its rural location driving is a must, a parking space is situated next to the bungalow.
Rural location in a modern yet cosy self contained bungalow. Electric fire in lounge with Hive controller central heating throughout. The bungalow warms quickly in the winter and is very cosy. There is a rear garden with table and chairs with views that look out to the Lake District. Large TV with DVD player and surround sound, it's an ideal space with all you need to relax.
This is a lovely rural location with friendly neighbours. There is access to beautiful walks and scenery with public footpaths off the door step and some fantastic pubs and restaurants near by. The location is also ideal for bird watchers with the UK's top estuary for birds nearby - Ribble Discovery Centre. There is so much within reach of the bungalow which is perfect to relax and do nothing or to use as a base and go off and explore, particularly with the Lake District 45 minutes away.
  • Awesome place for a short get away

    M2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely bungalow. In a beautiful area. I found it easy to get to. The location and directions are very accurate. Great communication from the hosts. Nice extra touches of fresh eggs, biscuits, bread. Perfect little home. There is a dog on the property and that was an added touch for me. So friendly. Couldn’t fault the place. Thanks for hosting us

    Shan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Another lovely stay. The bungalow is quiet, well equipped and cosy. The teen again enjoyed the fresh eggs, feeding carrots to the horses, and cuddles with Simba the dog. The eggs plus other extra touches of bread, milk, tea/coffee and cookies mean you can arrive late and happily survive til morning. Gareth is a fab host - responsive and friendly, but not intrusive at all. We'll be back again!

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at this fantastic bungalow. Nice and secluded in the beautiful countryside :)

    Phillip2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay to get away from it all, but also peaceful to get some work done, too. It was definitely quiet and secluded. Gareth was superb in providing prompt responses and also for giving a sense of privacy. It was spotlessly clean and cosy inside. I had a weekend break there, and I strongly recommend it.

    Michael2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My Mum and I came over from Australia and NZ for a difficult reason due to an ill family member but can honestly say coming back to the Bungalow knowing we were safe and sound in the peace and quiet of the countryside was absolutely wonderful. Gareth was an amazing host and we knew he was there for anything we may have needed at any time. The Bungalow itself is warm, cosy and comfortable. Beautiful surroundings in a perfect location for us. Place was spotless, had everything you could ever need in it. We hope to be back one day for sure! Highly recommend staying here, Gareth is definitely a superhost!

    Aimee2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic stay at The Bungalow. Communication with Gareth is so easy and he is very responsive. The Bungalow is clean, peaceful and lovey & warm, just what we needed on a Winter night. Even though Gareth and his family are close by, they are in no way intrusive. The surroundings and views are breathtaking and tranquil, this is certainly a place to recharge your batteries but it is also not far away from local amenities so you get the best of both worlds. This was our second visit in the last few months and we are already planning on when to book again.

    Lisa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • Great value. If you need somewhere to stay in the area, then you’re not going to find cheaper. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Very good location if you need to commute via the train or bus station, 10 minutes and 25 minutes walk away. Shaun was friendly and welcoming, though I pretty much just used the bedroom as I’d had a busy week of work and didn’t have much downtown before bedtime. I was able to come and go as I pleased. The room is pretty much as advertised, a desk, radiator and a bed, but if you’re just needing a good nights sleep it’s perfect. The area was quiet during my stay.

*As seen on The Great Staycation: Dot's Farm, BBC 1 HD* Alden Yurt is tucked away in the woodland on our farm. It's lined with hand knitted tapestries of native British trees and has a toasty wood burning stove, specialist thermal insulation and a comfy full sized double bed angled so you can doze off while watching the fire. Recline in the old wicker armchair and enjoy. The nightly price is the same whether you book for one or two guests Nosy at our farm on insta @cronkshawfold
*Please no smoking inside or in the doorway or near the yurt. The fabric holds the smell and it takes days to take down and £££ to dry clean* The yurt is well insulated and covered with knitted tapestries of the woodland depicting the four seasons - can you identify which trees? A comfortable full size double bed will be made up for you on arrival with sheets and blankets. The bed faces the glass fronted wood burner so you can watch the flames dance as you drift off to sleep. The wood burner is one of the newest designs available from 'Esse cookers and stoves' and heats up the yurt to toasty temperatures. We've had guests say they had to open the doors when it was -8c outside and snowing because they were too hot inside! If you are coming during a cold period please make sure you are a confident fire lighter - the stove takes a while to get going and you will get chilly if you can't light it. Bring a girl scout or read a Ray Mears book to make sure you're confident on getting the fire going and keeping it going through the night :) We provide wood for one night per stay. You can buy more from the farm or local shop, Nearys, in Helmshore. We also provide spring water, there's an urn in the yurt and more on tap in the kitchenette. There is a table and two chairs for eating/ painting/working ( please note the lighting in the yurt is not super bright, so for reading/ card games at night you'd need to bring a torch) space for luggage, a crockery shelf and a dog bed for visiting pooches (who must stay on their leads as we have free range chickens - sorry pooches, they don't like playing tig) We ask guests with dogs to make sure paws are wiped clean before going inside and that you bring your own dog blankets for pooches to rest on. Please do not use our blankets for dogs or allow your dog to get on any of our bedding. We really super appreciate this :) Around a 5 minute walk from the yurt is a small kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, sink with hot and cold running water, fridge and washing machine, there is no hob/ oven currently. Next to the kitchenette is a toilet and wash basins. These facilities are shared with our farm staff for brewing up and lunch brakes - this is a working farm so we can't promise they will be super tidy or mud free, though we do try to keep the farm chaos out of these areas! We're happy to talk farmy things with you should we bump into you when brewing up. Currently there are no showering/ bath facilities so people willing to have a flannel wash are the best types of guest for the Alden Yurt. There is no electricity but there is plenty of battery powered lights to illuminate the yurt and which are operated via a remote so you can turn all the lights on/ off from bed/ the doorway/ anywhere in the yurt. We also have silent battery powered dehumidifiers in the yurt to ensure their is no dampness in the air - the yurt might be made from canvas, but there is nothing damp or tent-like about staying in this little cosy home from home. As we're full time farmers and we're currently trying to expand the farm business we ask our guests to tidy up, strip the bed, refill the log bins and take litter home with you when you leave. We can't express or highlight enough how grateful we are when you do this. It really makes a massive difference to us and saves us so much time, which means we can offer our yurt at a reasonable price to lovely people like you lot looking to have a cheap rural escape :) 99% of people are fab and leave the yurt as spotless as when they arrived. Don't be the 1% who don't (or we will bury you alive in the muck heap! Just kidding!) CHECK IN is any time at all from 5pm onwards - it's self check in so it doesn't matter at all when you arrive. You won't disturb anyone if you arrive in the middle of the night after a night out/ long drive. Check out is 10am. Read our reviews if you'd like to hear first hand accounts of what the yurt is like. *Small note: The first 14 reviews for this listing are for guests who shared my farmhouse. I've now changed the listing offering guests Alden Yurt instead of my spare room* If you watched us on the BBC and saw we also have a hot tub, we're currently figuring out the best way to set up a system so guests can book to use it when they get here.
The museum also holds the local farmers market on the first Sunday of every month. Also hosts the farmers market on the second Sunday of every month. PUBS Back on Helmshore road in between the cotton house and Neary’s is the station hotel. there are no airs or graces here but it has friendly locals and the station hotel has a pool table a beer garden. There is also Robin Hood pub which is on the way to Haslingden Grane and has a lovely beer garden. At the foot of peel tower, is the shoulder of mutton which is a popular stopover from the walk. SIGHTS There is a bus stop 25 minutes walk away that has regular buses to Manchester. There is a steam railway that goes from Rawtenstall to bury, trough Ramsbottom, (if you listen closely you can hear it in the distance on the farm) The link will tell you more information. http://www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk/plan-your-day-out/destinations/ramsbottom.aspx We are just 30 minute drive from Pendle hill, a hour away from the forest of Bowland and an hour and a half drive away from those wanting to explore the lake district.
  • Beautiful location, cozy and personal accommodation and welcoming friendly people. So relaxing and a lovely way to disconnect from the world. 5 stars ✨

  • Beautiful escape - all the best bits of camping (the countryside, a fire, hearing the owls at night), with a bit of luxury thrown in (a bed, guaranteed being warm and dry, fairy lights)

  • Fantastic quirky stay over in the Yurt. Really is worth doing if you’ve never done anything like that before. The fire in the Yurt is stunning, keeps you extremely warm whilst lit but can get cold overnight as expected. Extremely friendly host and great to see them striving to be as environmentally friendly as possible

  • Stayed the night to break my journey to Scotland. It was just what I needed, good night sleep in a very quiet area and nice comfortable bed. Fully equipped kitchen next door to bedroom is definitely a bonus. The place is a short 10 min walk from the train station. If ever I needed to stay in the area again I would not hesitate to come back.
