  • We did not want to leave! The cabin and grounds are a lot nicer than the pictures could show you. Dick and Karen were great hosts and kept communication and service available when needed. There was so much to do and not enough time to do it. Our dog had the time of his life in the yard and in the trail to the cave. We look forward to coming back with our family and friends next time. Highly recommended experience and stay!

  • Great cabin with everything you need, secluded, lots of trails, open floor plan ideal, plenty of space for multiple guests, couldn’t ask for better hosts!

  • This place was absolutely amazing! From exploring the cave, to relaxing around the cabin/hot tub. Let’s not forget the brownies! We will definitely be back again!

  • Dick’a cabin was a real treat to stay at in southern Wisconsin. We were very pleased with everything, especially the home hospitality and amazing amenities. We will definitely book again!

  • My husband and I absolutely loved this place!! It was quiet and secluded!! We really enjoyed playing pool and foosball!! It was so nice to be out under the stars in the hotub!! The cave was awesome too! Also, thank you for the wonderful treats!! We can't wait to plan our next visit! Thank you again Karen and Dick for sharing your wonderful place and great hospitality!!

    Courtney2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super great quiet secluded. We got a little lost looking for the cave but dick was nice enough to come pick us up in his off-road vehicle. It was a great conversation with him learning about him and all of his properties. Definitely would return the price is definitely worth the value. If you're looking for something that secluded and want to get away from the craziness of the rushing lifestyle. This is the place to do. Plenty of seclusion for long walks with your dog or grabbing your four-wheelers with a bunch of your buds this place is has everything even in the summer upon with a bunch of bass fish. #1 😁😁 All 5 of us had a great time. Thanks

    Kevin2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING!! this place looks like its out of a story book, i was worried a bit being a city slicker and having to drive down a dirt road but you come around a bend and see the most lovely cabin on top of a hill. the porch overlooks the woods and its dreamlike in the morning. the host were angels!! i had an accident during my stay and i was so scared to tell them, they cam up to look at the damage and were so forgiving and understand. their communication is the best I've ever had and we got everything squared away quite quickly. i went in the winter so didn't check out the cave but i'm already planning my next trip in the summer!!!

We love our home! It was built in 1905 and subdivided into separate dwellings shortly after. The Airbnb is a beautiful upstairs studio apartment filled with charm and original wood trim with a private entrance. Our family lives downstairs so guests can expect to hear the sound of a typical family- children playing and possibly arguing, occasional instrument practice, and maybe even an, “I said get in bed!” around 8pm. We think you’ll find the space welcoming and cozy, even in spite of us!
If you love old houses, you’ll love this space! It’s got original wood trim and a sitting area with beautiful windows perfect for meals, a relaxing drink, or to get some work done.
We’re a short 0.5 mile walk to downtown and less than a mile to campus. You can get the best coffee in the world right down the street where 4th meets Main and Driftless Market, also on Main Street, has phenomenal soups for lunch or you can grab ingredients to make yourself a meal back at the apartment. Just let us know if you plan to cook so we can be sure to stock the kitchen with supplies!
  • A cute little place to relax and enjoy the view from the sitting room.

    Marria2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • From the start Vikki was very quick with communication and she continued to do so throughout the stay. The place is charming, cute, and 'historic' and just as the description presented. My favorites were the amenities, the sitting area, and the bed - so comfortable!

We enjoyed every minute and wished we could of stayed longer! We enjoyed a day away to Galena which was about 45 min from the cabin and we all couldn’t wait to get back to relax on the deck by the fire pit. Enjoy this wonderful home centrally located in Dubuque! Loras College is directly across the street, and downtown is just blocks away. Minutes drive from the main highways coming into town, in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Private backyard with a fire-pit. Fantastic view. Off-street parking. This is a grand old Dubuque home, but please understand that it needs some updating; in the meanwhile, its clean, spacious, and comfortable for your stay!
  • Great place in a great location. We loved our two-week stay at Alta Vista. Situated right across from Loras College, this house has a beautiful river-view and is just minutes from downtown. Kitchen is well stocked to cook. Which we needed during our 2 week stay. We really appreciated the sun room, and overall the house gets great natural sunlight coming in, especially in the morning. All the amenities really helped our stay feel like home. Cynthia and her partner were very kind and communicated well with us. We were able to move around flawlessly around the Dubuque area and we will remember it as one of our milestones in our career as a band(Cellocentric). Very grateful to have found this place. Highly recommended.

    Carolina2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend to my Loras college parents!

  • A well restored historic home! Super clean and a great location. A wonderful, homey place to stay! I would definitely stay again. Great coffee and all the other amenities one needs to feel at home. Cynthia was very communicative about the quirks of the house and how to check in. Thanks for hosting!

  • This is a neat old house with lots of character. Great value and walkable in central Dubuque. Do be aware that it's on the corner of a busy street, across from a campus, so it can be a bit noisy through the night.

  • The location couldn't be any better, next door to main street and the shops but around the corner so it is quiet. It is not a large space but had every thing we needed and did not feel crowded. Char and Rich were very helpful. The Cave and the Old Jail and Firehouse will be the first place we look when we visit the area again.

  • The cabin is beautiful and spotlessly clean. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the quiet, rural location. We saw deer and a fox, as well as a ton of birds at the bird feeder. It was an ideal setting to catch up with family, cook in the nice kitchen and stage day trips.

  • Hilltop Hideaway was exactly what we needed and more than we hoped for. Peace and quiet was what we were looking for and Julie's warm, welcoming and secluded hideaway delivered! The surrounding driftless area hills are gorgeous. Even though it was foggy and rainy most of our stay, the woods were beautiful and so peaceful blanketed in fog. The cabin was so clean and everything we might've forgotten was provided. Julie was responsive when we messaged her asking about local amenities but otherwise she gave us our privacy. We'll definitely return again.

  • This was hands down one of the best places I've stayed using airbnb... and I have stayed in many! Sandy and her husband were excellent hosts! They were upper responsive, gave us local suggestions, and even baked us some of the BEST cookies we have ever had! The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for! This would be the perfect place to go for a relaxing weekend away, or an adult friend/family gathering! It is right on the Wisconsin river so I would be nervous bringing small children, but man... the sunsets were unreal! We will definitely be back!

    Chelsi2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very warm and comfy. The view is fantastic. We had all the amenities we needed to snuggle in for a couple of cold, soggy days. We were able to cook meals, play board games (some provided), watch movies (even used the DVD player for some Redbox rentals) and cuddle up in front of the fireplace. Sandy is a great hostess, she was very sweet to meet us upon arrival and give us the ins and outs of the cabin. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be back again!

    Misty2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beyond my expectations! Everything about it was beautiful but the view was the best part! Sandy was also a great host and very quick with the responses, she also made the best pumpkin bread ever!!

  • Absolutely spotless, comfortable furniture and beds, lots of room. The deck is right overlooking the river and very peaceful. Listen to the wildlife, you will hear many things, owls, coyotes and such. Very relaxing environment. There's a nice little winery in the area to check out as well as the countryside.

  • Novelty Ironworks is a great place to stay. We have stayed here many times however our stay this weekend was very memorable. The food at the new Southern Ego “food truck” was amazing food and the comedy club was a lot of fun for our group. Max was very responsive and very hospitable throughout our entire stay. This was well worth the price and so much better than a hotel. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Brand new hardwood floors flow throughout the kitchen and hallways with new, plush carpet in the living areas. Every space has been updated and boasts a very comfortable, homey feeling. We bought our 1970's home 2 1/2 years ago in its original condition. Since then, we have worked endless hours on updating and modernizing every square inch of the property. We’ve enjoyed many nights on the outdoor patio hosting friends, grilling out, and playing games, along with cooking s'mores over the fire. Guests have access to all of these amenities as well as a one car garage stall (provided with advanced notice.) If you’re spending the day on the river, take advantage of nearest boat landing less than 1 mile away! We love our home and hope you do too!
The neighborhood is extremely quiet and private as most neighbors are elderly, private and not overly active. Our home is centrally located between downtown, numerous restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores. We are one block from a city park and five blocks from the public pool. We are only a short walk from nearby attractions like Prairie Fun Land, restaurants, shopping center and downtown bars.

We welcome you to be our guest in our comfy, warm cabin nestled on the lower Wisconsin River. We disinfect entire cabin between each guest. We are close to many area attractions including Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin, House on the Rock, American Players Theater, Wisconsin Dells, and much more! Activities include canoeing, fishing, hunting, shopping in quaint villages, or just relaxing watching the river... Our cabin is easy to get to and close to area villages but in a private setting.
Our cabin sits about 30 feet from the river. We have a spectacular view of the river from a large picture window in the cabin, or from sitting on the deck or back yard bench.
  • Very nice little cottage. The view of the river was lovely, and the brownies the host left were a delightful touch.

  • Terrific cabin on the Wisconsin River. Amazing views with outdoor activities at your fingertips. Rick and Sandy are great accommodating hosts. Much looking forward to our return trip.

    Rob2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the stay here much. By the second day it was already feeling like home. These two are wonderful people and with the early snow they made sure we were taken care of. Sandy works in a lovely flower shop half an hour away that we were invited to visit.

    Jenelle2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely lovely stay! Sandy was a quick and communicative host, and made it easy to extend our stay. She also made us some chocolate pudding, which we all enjoyed! The cabin was extremely well equipped— we made dinner there every night! The views are spectacular, and the changing colors of the leaves were lovely. There is a grill that we used, and a fire pit where were made a fire each night. The space was more than comfortable for myself, my fiancé, and my mom. We stayed upstairs in the bedroom, and mom had the downstairs level all to herself—lots of privacy. We could not have asked for a better stay! We would come back to the area in a heartbeat— just to stay at the delightful little cabin and enjoy the fall views! Do yourself a favor, and book Sandy’s cabin!

    Kyra2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay! Sandy was a great hostess, meeting is us at the end of the drive and showing us around. She even went as far as leaving a pumpkin pie and whipped cream! Beautiful scenery as well! Highly recommend this place.

  • Sandy was so considerate and baked special treats for our friends from UK. She responded to all my questions very quickly and was genuinely a wonderful hostess. I would love to come back again soon.

  • What a wonderful cabin and wonderful little place on the Wisconsin River with great views from the back window and also from their deck Sandy and Rich were great hosts and we hope to go back there again someday also the fishing was good for a few days did get a few big channel catfish smallmouth bass and a drum but the following day caught many fish including a few flathead catfish but they were all on a small side.

    Marty2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place where you can walk out the back door and be a few feet from a gorgeous, wide river, this place is for you. A deck overlooking the river where you can grill on the grill or roast marshmallows over an open fire, while listening to the sounds of nature. Or you can sit inside and watch the river through the large picture window. Then in the evening, if you've had enough quiet, you can watch the very large TV - including Netflix and Amazon. Your hosts are gracious and helpful and there is comfort all around.

Designed in 1951 by Frank Lloyd Wright and still owned by the original family, the Kinney House offers a rare opportunity to experience firsthand what it would be like to live in Wright’s Usonian non-rectilinear architecture. Wright believed the parallelogram plan, based on "diamond modules" with 60 & 120-degree angles, would create complex spaces that provide a sense of spaciousness within an affordable small footprint. Located in the small town of Lancaster WI, just 50 miles SW of Taliesin.
The house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1951 for Patrick Kinney (a Lancaster, Wisconsin attorney), his wife Margaret, and their three children. Margaret had initially experienced Wright's architecture firsthand while working at Taliesin (just 40 miles from the house and a great day-trip) as an assistant to Wright's sister, and was inspired to commission Wright for their home. Construction was completed in 1953. The original plan consisted of a double hexagonal central core housing the living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, and a bathroom. A linear wing housing two bedrooms and a second bathroom extended from the core. After completion, the arrival of a fourth child necessitated an addition for two more bedrooms and a bathroom. Taliesin Fellow John H. Howe, who had supervised the construction of the original house, designed the addition. Wright’s lifelong passion to create a “democratic” Usonian-style of architecture is exemplified in the Kinney House. Rising to the challenge of the $15,000 budget, Wright suggested a modest 1500 s.f. modular footprint and concrete block as the primary building material. In an effort to keep costs down and get the local Wisconsin limestone he loved, Patrick Kinney acted as the contractor and took on some of the labor himself - going so far as to dynamite, cut, load and deliver limestone to the site in his 1939 Chevy truck before work most mornings. Consequently, the Kinney house is often referred to as one of Wright’s few “owner built” homes. When most people think of modular homes they think 90-degree angles, but not Wright, whose genius is on display in the non-rectilinear layout. Wright believed the parallelogram plan - based on "diamond modules" and 60 and 120-degree angles - created interesting spaces that gave people a larger sense of rooms unfolding as they walked around the house. The “diamonds” extend beyond the plan to inform three-dimensional space: the ceiling, the lighting, and the furniture. Today, when I reflect on the house I remember school children calling it a “space ship,” and the people from all over the world who would simply stop by unannounced hoping to get a peak at Wright’s work. Typically, my parents would invite the strangers in and proudly show them around, often for hours at a time. Building this house was the most defining aspect of my parent’s lives.
The Kinney House is located in the City of Lancaster, in the southwest corner of Wisconsin. It is known as the "City of the Dome" for the beautiful Grant County Courthouse in the center of downtown. The charming historic shopping district features an array of boutiques, a variety of dining opportunities and a restored historic movie theatre. There are a variety of activities year round including an annual County Fair, Night on the Square, Music in the Park, Deal and Steals Days, parades and much more.
  • Our stay at Frank Lloyd Wright's Kinney House was amazing! How unique to be able to spend time in a home designed by one of America's greatest architects. Anyone who admires his work would love to stay here! The home is located in an unassuming neighborhood but set on an expansive tree-filled lot with amazing views. Jane the owner was so kind and helpful and responsive to all our needs. There were even architectural drawings we could look at and compare with what we saw! Great location in southwestern Wisconsin, close to supper clubs, microbreweries and the Mississippi River. We would love to go back!

  • Stay here - the rooms are clean, QUIET even with a little pub below there was no 'bar noise' or anything.. Very comfortable and would stay again in a heart beat. The bed - WAS AWESOME!!! Thanks for a great stay!!!

  • Great stay. The suite was more than expected. One bedroom w/ bath, living space, and full kitchen with cooking utensils. While the building is obviously quite old, the space had some nice modern upgrades. (Flooring and accents) great size accommodation for the price. There’s not much around, we had planned to take our boat on the Mississippi River, but the weather did not cooperate. However, drive to Dubuque was easy and lots of things to do. We didn’t go this time around, but the Potosi Brewery is good for some tasty beer and food. We enjoyed the restaurant below the Inn for a hearty breakfast. Check in was easy- we had no need to contact the host. We will definitely stay again if in the area!

  • We went back less than two months after our first visit. The cottage has been the perfect place to stay during our skiing trips, super cute and clean!

  • The place is great! Can't say anything negative about it. Truly one of the best rentals I've seen. Thoughtful touches everywhere, everything you need, great lighting, plenty of firewood, garage... See it for yourself! A few hills and turns away from Galena, minutes from Iowa, you won't regret it!

    Vince2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great week at Townhall. Ashley is such a great hostess. The house was so clean, inviting and full of things that made us feel right at home and relaxed. She solved any problem in a flash and checked on us by text once in awhile to make sure all was okay. It was great to have a garage to park in and lots of firewood and fire starters. Watch out for that step into the living room, it'll wake you up. It's so easy to visit Dubuque and Galena, both very close.

    Lacelynn2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely adorable. It is equal distance between Dubuque and Galena for an abundance of things to do. The cottage is updated and modern and Ashley took care in creating a cozy environment. The beds are super comfortable and Ashley went above and beyond to provide extra blankets, sheets, towels etc. She left some cinnamon bread from a local bakery that we enjoyed every morning along with the abundance of coffee that was provided. The cottage was very clean and stocked well... from the movies and games for kids to the extra bathroom amenities/supplies. We encountered bitter cold during our stay and quite the snowfall and were delighted to see the extra care in snow plowing the driveway for us. The location is serene and quiet and reminiscent of the English countryside. It really is the cutest little cottage and we cannot wait to return.

  • The cookies were delicious and the house was beautiful. Thank you so much! Would absolutely love to rent again if I am ever back in the area to visit!

  • This Airbnb is a great place to stay if you are wanting to go to Galena or downtown Dubuque. Our group had a couple dogs and it was perfect! There was a basket of dog toys as well as dog treats, it was an awesome surprise! The host was very responsive, they answered a text right away. It was a safe area as well! Everything you would need is in the house. The host left cookies out for us and there was ice made in the freezer!

  • Last night, Dawn and her home were quite literally a port in a storm for my golden retriever Fitzgerald and myself. We were returning north from a weekend women’s conference in Kansas City towards Green Bay Wisconsin where we live, and there was a massive storm ahead of us which my family and friends advise me to stop so that I could not travel through. With only two hours notice, I found this place and did a reservation. She responded right away and got us all set. The house is easily gotten too, super cute, very comfortable and everything as described. If you are traveling with pets, you must stay here! Dog toys, dog blankets, and dog treats! Fitzgerald gives it for paws way up high. They shoveled the driveway and the walk and the back patio so it was all clear for us to get in, and I could park my car in the garage overnight out of the cold. There were even fresh cookies for me along with the treats for Fitzgerald. One of the beds was more on the firm side and the other was plush and cozy – my personal preference! We got in, got ourselves settled, call DoorDash for Chinese dinner, cozied in and watch TV for a few hours then crawled in for a wonderful nights sleep. I have been at a women’s conference for a few days so was not and surprisingly pretty tired, and I crashed. Which is pretty unusual for me given the circumstance. Dawn messaged me and told me that they didn’t have anyone checking in the next day so I didn’t have to worry about rushing in the morning if I didn’t need to. That extra hour was a godsend – just like her and this wonderful cozy home. I have been thinking about doing a weekend trip to Dubuque sometime, a long weekend, there are breweries involved, and maybe driving over to Galena which is very expensive to stay there – so this would be perfect and I think I will be back.

    Cheryl2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Dawn was very quick to respond, offered recommendations and even got us a fire pit when we asked if they had one! She was very accommodating and it made for a lovely stay. Would stay again! Lovely home!

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is tiny but very inviting and cozy. If you’re in the bedrooms expect to hear the train coming through town. Thank you for leaving out cookies for us!

  • This feels like home away from home. VERY clean and comfortable! Convenient location for outdoor activities and indoor leisure. Unique decor. More space than what the pictures provide. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

  • This A-Frame is a peaceful place for those who want to stop and relax. This a very well maintained space with little touches that make you feel at home. I highly recommend this place!

    Kevin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice stay, cozy and sweet. The accommodations are very accurate as advertised. The beds were comfortable and the atmosphere homey and welcoming. Sandy was a great host and was really great about communicating about parking and the challenges with the hill. That said, with the right vehicle it is so worth it to come stay at this cute little place. I loved that as we arrived we saw clear signage that showed us where to park and that we were at the right house. Thoughtful little touches were around as well. I would definitely love to stay here next time I come this way!

    Rebecca2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place in the woods! Very clean and everything you need for a relaxing getaway from home. Will definitely return again.

    Justin2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time staying here and it did not disappoint. Perfect location for a ‘do nothing’ getaway. Sandy’s place is a delight, we only ventured out for a stroll to the cute downtown and walk along the river. The rest of our time was spent playing board games, reading and drinking old fashions! The perfect spot to unwind for a weekend. Hope to do it again next year.

  • Corey was professional and understanding and quick to respond. The place was cool and in a good spot. Would recommend.

  • Interesting place.

    David2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • My dog and I loved staying in the cozy Octagon room! It was the perfect size for one person and the fact that dogs are allowed sealed the deal for us! Corey provided excellent instructions on how to find parking and our room inside this large building. Aside from the occasional train passing through, it was a quiet, restful place to stay. (The trains didn't bother us anyway, but I always travel with earplugs.) The room is actually part of a large, completely renovated historic mansion, which was amazing. It made me feel like I was living inside the Clue board game or something. Professor Plum in the Conservatory with a Candlestick anyone? Excellent experience and I'll come again if I get the chance.

    Derek2019-11-21T00:00:00Z

The log cabin was built as a place to unwind, relax, and truly unplug. Nestled among 15 acres of rolling hills, the cabin can serve as a place to hunker down and read three novels, or a home base for hiking, cycling and putting the nature back in your life. Be advised, there is NO television or WiFi and that’s for good reason. Cook, drink, eat, play, relax and refresh yourself. Wake up to the songs of birds and listen to the owls at night while you’re warming yourself around a bonfire.
The loft has two queen size beds, a convertible queen size sofa in the lower level. The bath on the main floor has a claw foot tub with a euro-shower. The lower level bathroom has heated floors and a walk-in shower and an outdoor shower for the warmer days.
Located in a rural development, the log cabin sits on 15 acres within a 500 acre community along the Grant River. 10 minute drive to the Mississippi River and the Potosi Brewery and National Brewery Museum. 30 minute drive to Dubuque Iowa or Platteville WI. 50 minute drive to Galena. Be sure to take a lazy tube or kayak down the nearby Grant River.
  • We had a great time staying at John’s cabin. He is a wonderful host, and the check in process was a breeze. They cabin is lovely, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away.

  • I was hoping to find a place of solitude and peace, not too far from town in case I needed anything or wanted to eat out, yet far enough where I could enjoy peace and quiet and be in nature. I experienced all I was hoping for, and more! The property is very accommodating and provides all the amenities one would need. Owners live just up the road in case I needed anything, and the Grant River is right in the backyard. I hiked with my dog everyday. I will return!

RESPA Retreat Airbnb is located in downtown Dyersville, IA. Close to beautiful Bascilica, restaurants & bars, shops, and new brewery! It is an upstairs apartment with private entrance, bathroom, fireplace, kitchenette area. It sleeps up to 3 with a queen bed, and single pullout. Can arrange air mattress for one more guest. It is a quaint area. There is internet access with a TV/Roku with Netflix and Hulu. You have use of microwave, mini frig, toaster and Keurig coffeemaker.
During the summer months, there is access is an outdoor patio.
RESPA is across the street from the beautiful basilica, and is a great location in the rear of a Victorian home. It is a quiet area, close to downtown for shopping and going out for the evening.
  • I was working downtown and this spot was perfect! I could easily park my rental car and walk to all my meetings -- it was right in the center of everything. I just wish I had free time to hang out in the spa while I was there!

  • A Hidden Gem! I arrived in Iowa on a two-week business trip, and it’s likely I’ll be making several more trips. When I do, I’ll DEFINITELY be booking the ReSpa again! The location is directly across the street from the Basilica, and the room I rented had a bedside view. Dyersville isn’t the biggest town, but the ReSpa is within walking distance of all the best restaurants—Chad’s Pizza, the Palace Saloon, Chan’s Garden, etc. It’s a 20-30 minute walk to the nearest grocery store, but the sidewalks and streets are highly walkable. The room itself may be the main event, but the hospitality was the icing on the cake! Karen is an exceptionally attentive hostess: she refilled my K-cups on request, stocked an assortment of travel toiletries for anything I forgot, and was easy to reach by phone or text. The ReSpa also offers massage and spa services (for an additional price), and I wound up booking one of the most relaxing 90-minute massages I’ve ever had. The room itself consisted of a living room area, a partial kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom. It was perfect for an extended stay, as there is onsite laundry. I’m not much of a cook, so the kitchenette’s microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator were all I needed. The carpeting was very plush and comfortable, and the television’s Roku let me connect to YouTube, Netflix, and all my online streaming services. To top it all off, the place is cheaper to stay than the Comfort Inn, and offers a comfy, cozy extended stay experience. You won’t regret your trip to the ReSpa!

  • My second stay here, love this place when needing to travel in the area. The space is very clean, and now decorated in snowman everywhere. There are a few steps (one flight up) to the apartment. Great little table to have dinner and breakfast, microwave, fridge and toaster (bring some bagels and cream cheese). Look out the bedroom window and you see a great view of the Basilica.

    Amanda2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed the accomodations very much.

  • One of my best experiences at an AirBNB. Karen was very timely with her communication and room was perfect for two. The location was across the street from St. Francis Basilica, a must see. Overall my experience with this location was excellent and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Also, what a beautiful small town, very impressed.

    Mark2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • With a gas fireplace, open layout and cozy feel, this apartment is perfect for a couple's getaway. In the evening, we took a short stroll over to the Textile Brewing Company, a beautiful, friendly space that really seems to be the heart of the community. And while the apartment doesn't have a kitchen (or a kitchen sink), we enjoyed numerous cups of Keurig-made coffee in the morning.

Plenty of space for a big group and the best part is the indoor hot tub in a separate building connected by the deck. Cows are right out back too which was amazing to wake up and look out to see! If you would like the amenities of home while on a short or long stay, then consider The Den. It has a patio, tables & chairs, charcoal grill, fire pit area, living room with a sofa sleeper, dvd player & movies only, WiFi, full kitchen, full size bed, bathroom with washer and dryer. Sit back and listen to the country sounds. Ask about stays that are a month or longer.
The Den has a western décor. It is cozy and affordable for up to four people. Why stay in a hotel when you can bring your food and enjoy some time in the beautiful country of southwest Wisconsin. Books and games are in The Den for your use. Bikers welcome. Towels and linens are provided. Full Kitchen with utensils and cookware. The Den is located below The Driftless Lodge.
Our neighborhood offers a lot to see and do. It has some very nice restaurants too. There is a golf course a mile away and disc golf 5.5 miles. Trout streams and the Wisconsin River are near. We have a snowmobile trail that goes thru our property. Check out our guidebook. Some of the information is on there. There is information in the Den for you to look at when you arrive.
  • It's out of town, so it has a country well. If you prefer non-chlorinated tap water, it's great! It's really out in the middle of nowhere, so if you're looking for some peace and quiet, it's great. We were there during the winter, so we weren't able to enjoy the farm stuff, but it was okay with us to just stay in and watch movies or use our phones. Wi-Fi is included, but there is a strong signal from Verizon Wireless, so I didn't really use it. There are actually two beds. There's one in the bedroom, and the couch has a hide-a-bed. While we were there, the temperature outside was extremely cold, but the heat worked just fine. The water pipes froze one morning, but they were thawed out about an hour after I let her know. The water pressure seemed a bit lower than what I'm used to, but maybe that's just me.

  • Esther is a wonderful host. Her home is very comfortable and everything is spotless. I would definitely stay again at her home. Her home is in a beautiful location across the street from a nice park. Very safe neighborhood. Thank you Esther for your kind hospitality.
