  • The Stone Cottage is a large, comfortable, clean, well-equipped house perfect for a winter weekend. The kitchen had plenty of sparkling clean plates, glasses, pots and pans, along with a new-model high-end stove and a huge, spotless refrigerator. We ended up making breakfast and dinner there each day. Lots of hot water and nice fluffy towels for warm showers after a day spent in the snow, and comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. This may not be a "luxury" place, but it was like coming back to your own home after a busy day out having fun -- comfortable and spacious and warm.

  • The property was a great base camp for our snowmobile trip. The living room, kitchen, and dining was larger than expected and offered a great space for relaxing at the end of the day. It had everything we needed and was very close to the Bear Den for sled gas and a few grocery items.

The trail is literally right outside your door, and Jonathan kept us updated on trail conditions and offered great advice for our ride. Other conveniences include gas and a terrific place to eat (Andy’s) just across the street. Don’t hesitate to book a stay anytime of the year, we will definitely be back!

A dream cabin with 300ft of frontage on East Lake and loads of privacy. A true wilderness experience with all the comforts of home. Included is a small paddle boat and fishing boat for your use and a sandy bottom swimming area in a very private spot. There are many attractions nearby and those brochures will be there for your review. Such as: the Tahquamenon falls, Oswald’s Bear Ranch, Pictured Rocks kayaking adventures and many square miles of state land wilderness & other lakes to explore.
  • This cabin was the perfect getaway. My boyfriend and I travelled to see the fall colors of the U.P. this cabin was perfect for that also. The view of the cabin was amazing. It was cold, so we heated the cabin everyday with the wood burning stove. Jeff has an endless supply of wood for you, you will never run out! We also made a fire outside and cooked all of our meals on the fire. Having coffee on the back deck or down by the lake was the best way to start the day! We did have to travel 45 mins plus to go to Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls. However, this cabin is in a perfect central location for sight seeing. Jeff made check in and check out super easy. The cabin was clean and spotless. The jet tub was huge and clean! This cabin has all the amenities possible you can think of. Anything you would forget, Jeff had available for use. I am already missing waking up to the smell of the wood burning stove and the beautiful view at the cabin! Such an amazing way to spend our relax time in the U.P. we definitely want to return back to this cabin! Truly a great place for any season.

    Erika2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's cabin is idyllic - cozy and secluded, yet centrally located for UP adventures. The cabin itself is only 30 minutes from Pictured Rocks and 45 from Tahquamenon Falls. We came up to experience northern MI's beautiful fall foliage, bringing our pups along with us. When we weren't out exploring, we spent time relaxing out on the deck, roasting s'mores in a bonfire pit by the lake at dusk, or stoking the flames of the living room wood stove as we wound down the evening. The lake itself is quaint, yet large enough to row/paddleboat around in - another amenity Jeff provides. All-in-all, you'd be remiss to forgo Jeff's cabin for your next UP adventure. We'll certainly book if available, the next time we come UP!

  • Had a great time staying in McMillan. East Lake is beautiful. Easy drive to Tahquamenon and Munising.

    Eric2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and cozy cabin located right on the water! Very clean with the opportunity to disconnect from the world if you’re seeking a moment of serenity! No WiFi or cable helps you to embrace the wilderness, fishing, building fires, cooking and spending time with loved ones. We will definitely be back!

    Alison2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Lots to do and see within 2 hours of cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is small so it's great for a couples get away or with two kids. Plenty of privacy around the cabin. Loons on the lake. And a nice fire pit next to the lake. Not a lot of boat traffic.

    Douglas2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and setting are beautiful. It is nicely decorated and true to the pictures posted. It is in a central locationwhere you can plan day trips to the attractions to the east and west and makes a good home base when spending time in the area.

    Amy2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I enjoyed our little getaway here for our first anniversary. I loved the fact it’s on a little lake and he provides a fishing boat. I didn’t want to leave but we had to come back to reality. I hope to be able to plan a week trip with the kids next year.

    Whitney2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent location to see many of the items in the area of the UP. A very nice location with kitchen for breakfast that is a step up from a hotel. Communicate to Jeff via text. The lake has poor coverage for cell phone and no Wi Fi. Washer and drier worked well and let us get caught up on laundry while traveling. The address on the GPS was wrong so use the house numbers on the side of the Florence Drive. Florence Drive goes all the way around the lake. Florence is listed off 28 shortly after the restaurant. The cabin is on the top of the hill hidden from the road. Text when your are on the way with your ETA and Jeff or one of his neighbors will meet you there. The cabin has no AC but with all the shade and the ceiling fans it is not necessary. It was in the 80's when we arrived but was fine in the cabin. Lots of screens open up to allow for plenty of air. Needed to turn on the furnace second night that worked good as it was in the 50's. Wife enjoyed the Whirlpool bath. 2 bedrooms one with full size bed and second with bunk beds. Bunk beds had a master bath. Fished off the small pier and caught little ones for a while, bigger ones are further out. The row boat was there but did not use it as was the paddle boat. Life jackets are available to use. Restaurant food was ok near the cabin but slow. Visited Pictured Rocks and a number of water falls, Tahquamenon Falls Upper and Lower and do not miss the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, go in the early morning or evening to see the animals. It is a drive though. Great location to do it all from and drive the National Lakeshore from. Take 3-4 days or pick a couple if you have less time. There is worms and night crawlers in the store near the turn from 28. Cabin is clean and well cared for. Nice view of lake. Take mosquito spray but they were not a big problem. Has a grill and a fireplace in the cottage and a fire pit outside and near the beach down below. Nice view of lake from kitchen table and has a nice deck area for relaxing also. Did not use the TV but they had a nice selection of video's, mostly action for watching. Swimming area is a little rough with roots and sticks so wear sandals. We would stay again but longer to see more in the area, walk more trails and so on.

    Krista2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • From the text messages leading up to our arrival, to the coffee, to the spices and condiments left in the kitchen, Liz really thinks of everything a traveler could need. The cottage was very clean, stylish & comfy. The view of the lake was picturesque. We stayed in the winter and appreciated the small entry room with lots of hooks to hang snow gear for the ice fishing, snowshoeing and hiking activities planned for the trip. Like I said, Liz thinks of everything. We will come back!

    Tracy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful with amazing views of the lake. My husband and I stayed here and hiked around the UP. Perfect location and an amazing place to come back to at night! We will definitely I rely be back!

    Jen2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • It took us a minute to find the cottage - it was very dark and raining. However when we walked into the cottage all tensions melted away! It was beautifully updated and Liz had a book made up on the table with all information we would need about the cottage, things to do in surrounding towns, and suggestions for food. We quickly unpacked and sat outside on the deck to listen to the waves of the lake. I can imagine it would be phenomenal in the summer, but even in the cold of fall the lake house cottage was a perfect stay to relax and reconnect. Liz also added a special touch to our trip by leaving us an anniversary card (it was our 2 year celebration) and a YOOPER chocolate bar. Any contents were available for us - which is excellent if you plan on cooking- basics are there! Liz was also great @ getting back with us right away with any questions. I highly recommend staying here and we plan to return in warmer weather with our children.

  • Very clean! Host is very prompt with all communications. Some cabins decor updated more then others, however that is not a big deal to me. Newer beds would make stay even better. Beautiful spot right on the lake, we look forward to staying again during warmer weather to take advantage of the outdoor amenities.

  • This cabin was so cute! John and Sandy were fantastic hosts, great people! Pictures do not do it justice. It's on a nice sandy private beach, beautiful lake, the location is perfect for day trips to see many attractions. I will be back next summer for sure! There is a fire pit on the beach, shower works great and beds are comfy. If you forget any essentials there is a dollar general a mile or 2 down the road and Curtis is a cute town that is very close. Thank you for a perfect getaway John and Sandy!

  • We had a great family vacation at Christy's place. We traveled from Central Michigan area to go snowmobiling for the weekend. The pictures accurately matched what we were expecting from the cabin. Driveway was plowed with tons of parking space for snowmobiles trailers. The orv trailhead was just right down the road and very easy to access. Absolute perfect location. Also we really enjoyed the variety of DVDs Christy had to offer, they kept us laughing all weekend! Definitely interested in going back!

My husband and I along with our toddler had such a great experience. She ended up sleeping in the bedroom because she goes to bed so early, and they had a pull out couch the we slept on with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We were very pleased with our whole stay. Would definitely come back!

  • This place is perfect if you want a comfortable and centrally located place in the UP. We were about an hour away from everything we wanted to see, which was perfect with having a 1 year old who napped on the car rides. The cabin was great. My husband, daughter and I were all comfortable and had plenty of space. The view is awesome looking out at the lake and made a great breakfast view. We would definitely return to this cabin or one of the others from this host.

The cottage is located on a hillside, overlooking a 4,000 acre lake, offering water view sunsets that can be different every night. The cottage has an enclosed porch and deck overlooking the lake, with stairs down to the lake level frontage.
  • This cabin was beyond our expectations. It was close to our planned excursions and a great place to come "home'" to at night. It was quiet and well stocked for our needs. We will be letting all of our friends know about this gem in the UP.

  • Very kind hosts and a beautiful destination.

    Krista2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a great place to enjoy "lake life." You can do everything from boating, fishing, kayaking, or just chilling by the water listening to the waves roll in on the lake and the breeze of the day. The cabin is located only a couple miles from Curtis, which has some good restaurants, great subs at Pizza Stop, and Kim's Tally Ho is good for a variety. There are two ice cream parlors. My favorite was Chet and Pat's. Their sundaes are awesome. Daryl's place is nicely located, making day trips to see surrounding attractions easy. Great place! The sunsets are amazing every night! The cabin has an inviting feeling as soon as you walk in the door. My favorite place was the sunroom/porch, no matter the day, you can sit out there and watch the water and enjoy the breeze. I thought it was perfect!

    Lori2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Daryl's place exceeded our expectations in every way. The value was excellent, it is a lovely cabin in an idyllic setting with lovely hosts and neighbors. The weather was perfect, the sunsets incredibly beautiful, and the friendly wildlife nearby were a joy to experience. We saw deer, frogs, fish, and during our last sunset at the cabin we witnessed a bald eagle right outside catch a fish and fly through the backyard! The only very minor drawbacks of the cabin were that there was not a dishwasher (we made most of our meals at the cabin, so we did a lot of dishes!) and the water is well-water, which takes some getting used to and you'll want to bring drinking water. Curtis is an adorable little town and only an hour from some of the most beautiful sights! We had day trips to Mackinaw Island, The Pictured Rocks, Oswald's Bear Ranch, Seney Wildlife Refuge, Kitch-iti-kipi Spring and our favorite and new happy place - Tahquamenon Falls. We can't wait to bring our family back to this gem. I would recommend this place to anyone!

    Alexius2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a great place to stay and relax. We cant wait to come back in the future!

    Maggie2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in a beautiful area and the sunsets are gorgeous. The cabin is well-equipped and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming. It is a serene and comfortable getaway with many things to do within an hour. Seney Wildlife Refuge is even closer and beautiful.

    Beth2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a beautiful week in the U.P. The cottage was well beyond anything we expected, the location is utterly amazing and the property is set up so that guests can enjoy the beauty of the lake in comfort. We're tent campers, this was such an amazing and dramatic departure from that, it gave us all of the freedom we wanted to explore things like Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon and countless beaches and the amazing natural resources of the U.P. but also gave us a truly beautiful home base to come back to. The sunsets, stars and quiet at the cottage, along with the the ease of a full kitchen, comfy bedrooms and sweet hospitality of our hosts... it was perfect!! I can't recommend this home highly enough, it's perfectly located to make day trips of many of the major sights in the U.P. and so comfortable, you can't go wrong!!!

This unique property rental includes use of the entire "Musher's Village"--11 acres with a 16' Pacific Yurt, a Tiny House/Cabin and Cookshack. Pets are welcome on property and in the buildings. Please read the entire description below as this is a very unique, remote and RUSTIC property. There is NO electricity on this property. This is a great property both for small and large groups. There are endless hiking and biking trails from the property.
The cabin and yurt combined sleep 8-10 people. Property is truly OFF GRID (NO running water, electricity, plumbing or internet. There is NOT a place to charge phones, etc). There is plenty of peace and quiet. Property is near our large, professional sled dog kennel so you may hear barking dogs. Property is easily accessible, located on a well-maintained dirt road. There are two outhouses, hand-pump for clean drinking water, an outdoor cook stove and grill for cooking, fire pit and comfortable beds. The beds are all twin size with the exception of one double bed in the cabin loft. There is no indoor plumbing...this means no shower or flush toilet. There are two clean outhouses on site. This is a kid-friendly property with great woods to explore and sand to dig in! There are great trails for hiking and mountain biking right from the property. There are also many lakes nearby for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. We are very close to the Silver Creek Birding trail for excellent bird watching. It's also a great place to enjoy night sky viewing with no light pollution. There is ample space for parking a trailer if you bring an ATV or boat.
There is no neighborhood...that's what makes it unique!! You can experience nature without having to bring all your own camping supplies. No tent or stove needed...it's all here! And, there are no neighbors to bother so feel free to sit up late and make noise around the campfire.
  • Great place, Tasha the host was very nice - my group already talking about staying there again next year..

    Benji2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the mushing village was incredible! No cell phone service, no electricity, no light pollution - it was everything you’d want out of a primitive camping experience but with the comfiest beds to sleep in, a wood stove for warmth, Board games, and literally everything we could possibly need for cooking, bonfires, sleeping - everything! Tasha was a great host and was super helpful in telling us how to get to places like the grocery store and Tahquamenon Falls since we didn’t have cell phone service. We’re already looking forward to coming back sometime next year for another little getaway! It’s the perfect place to unwind from the busyness of life. Thank you for an incredible weekend, Tasha!

  • If your idea of vacation includes “disconnecting”, this is a great getaway for you! All the necessities are there for you- cookware, beds, bedding, shelter, water pump, dishes, etc. It was just me, my boyfriend and our Great Dane on the trip and the little cabin was cozy and worked well for us. Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay in the yurt as Heat was a must during our trip and hadn’t been hooked up yet. We really enjoyed the property, including the sauna! Everything was conveniently available and labeled for starting the wood stove fire, cookware for making breakfast, washing dishes, etc. The last morning we were there we sat in the garage with the door open sipping hot tea and eating pancakes while watching giant white flakes stick to the colorful leaves on the trees. You can hear the kennel, which we enjoyed as being big dog lovers- it just added to our experience : ) we did swing by the kennel on our way home and really enjoyed getting to learn some facts about dog sledding and of course- pet the dogs and play with the puppies. Even though there were a muddy mess from the sun melting the snow away, it was way worth it. I hope to stay again sometime. Thank you!

  • The best experience for whoever wants to dive into the beauty and wildness of the UP!

    Piero2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly what we were looking for. A remote, rustic location to stay while we explored Pictured Rocks and the surrounding area. I will definitely plan more time at the camp if we're fortunate enough to return. The camp is well laid out, well organized, has a fantastically stocked kitchen, and there is very little asked of you at check out. It's a beautiful location. Hints/Tips for future travelers: DON'T TRUST GOOGLE! Use the directions sent to you in the reservation. And follow them out to the highway when you leave camp. The way Google wants you to go will not get you to the camp, and it is an ATV trail. 4x4 recommended to get to camp, especially if it has rained recently. No cell service was available after about 15 minutes outside Munising. Have a paper map or download the maps prior to embarking on your adventure. You will definitely hear the dogs in the neighboring kennels. It's pretty cool, but if you're someone who needs silence in the woods to sleep, it might not be for you. This is a very well stocked kitchen and camp. We brought a few things just in case, but the only gear of our own that we used was sleeping bags (supplemented by the provided sheets/blankets/pillows) and fire starters (because we were tired/lazy).

    Barbara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great long weekend in the UP with Tasha's cabin as our home base. This place is RUSTIC, which is exactly what we were looking for. The outdoor cookhouse is fully stocked with everything we needed to have some simple meals by the fire with lots of space for our dog to run around. Staying on a property intended for dog sled teams was particularly fun! We loved hearing the dogs at the kennel down the street doing a collective bedtime howl together in the evening while we sat around the fire.

    Lauren2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great base camp for day trip excursions to explore eastern UP. Plenty of space for larger families and all the amenities (bedding, cookshack, tools, coolers, etc.) allow you to pack light and avoid hauling excess gear for camping alternatives. A wonderfully unique location to get away from it all for a while.

    Joseph2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing adventure if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Good location to see all the wonders of the U.P.. very friendly hosts. We loved the whole experience!

Our cottage is fully remodeled on the inside and we hope you enjoy it, as much as we do. It's just 2 miles to the South Manistique Lake boat launch which is on Norton Rd. for fisherman who likes to catch many fish, or just catch a beautiful sunset. Within minutes to the unique waterfront village Curtis, which has a access to both South Manistique and North Manistique Lake. Within 1 hour or so you can visit many U.P. attractions.
It's been said many times its a charming cottage with a relaxing feel, theirs a picnic area to enjoy the pleasure of eating outdoors and fire pit to relax and chill out under the stars and a welcoming woods on the left with a nature walk
it is safe, neighbors are nice and to themselves

Easy on the East is an up to date, cozy and affordable getaway located on the North shore of East Lake in McMillian, MI. Spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom. Row boat, Canoe, and two kayaks are available and it is dog friendly. Please note- there is NO Cable or Internet. There is a T.V. and DVD player-along with movies!
Friendly neighbors, quiet peaceful lake-great for fishing!
  • My family enjoyed our week at the cottage. The lake views are beautiful! We saw an eagle and an otter on the lake. My kiddos caught quite a few fish and loved kayaking on the lake. The house has everything you would need. Loved how all the U.P. attractions are a quick drive away. My dog lived hanging out on the gated deck watching the ducks. The stars at night were breath taking. The only thing that would make this home even better would be a camp fire pit. We would definitely come back again!

    Valorie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's home is cozy and comfortable, the view of the lake was beautiful during our fall stay.

    Lindsay2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Neat and clean cabin with added benefit of a washer and dryer. Nice base to explore area’s nature spots. Though not an on-site host, Jessica left detailed info for guests and was prompt in her communication.

    Maryjude2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cabin! We had 4 adults and 2 kids and we all fit perfectly. Being right on a lake was a perfect location for our up north vacation. We were able to drive to lots of attractions with a lovely home base in the middle. Would definitely stay agin!

    Elizabeth2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Easy on the East was such a great getaway from normal life! Jessica's place was immaculately clean and prepped for our family of 6 to stay a few nights. We loved using the kayaks, rowboat, and fishing from the dock. The road around the lake is great for a morning or evening walk too. The cottage is also an easy drive for day trips to area attractions like Tequamenon Falls, Whitefish Bay (Shipwreck Museum), Pictured Rocks, Oswald's Bear Ranch, and Kitchen-iti-kipi. We also went into Newberry and had a great dinner at Timber Charlie's. One more thing: make sure to bring bug spray. The mosquitos were intense when we were there (although we heard from some locals that they were having particularly bad mosquitos this spring)!

    Jen2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a perfect experience at the Easy on the East cottage. The cottage was exactly what we wanted for a week-long getaway, and the photos/description provided by Jessica were very accurate. The cottage is just steps away from the beautiful East Lake, and the water in the lake was very clean and swim-worthy (we were a little concerned about potential weeds/lake gunk, but this was not an issue here at all.). We will have fond memories of roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, looking out onto the lake from the porch swing, and rowing around the lake in the rowboat provided. We could even see the Northern Lights at night! The neighborhood was very quiet, and the neighbors seemed friendly. Jessica was a great host, and she answered all of our questions in a very timely manner. Overall, this was a great experience, and we are excited to come back!

    Laurel2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage by a lake. Great view and quiet - except when are passing on the nearby highway. Spacious and extremely well-equipped.

This is a private cabin next to my home right on Lake Manistique! This cabin has two huge picture windows so you have a view of the lake even inside! The kitchen and living room are retro and you feel like you're in a 1950s cabin but with modern amenities. The cabin is set about 150 feet from the road so you are surrounded by woods and have as much privacy as you would like. This cabin has a no smoking policy and a no pet policy.
Boats for rent and bait shops are in the town of Curtis only 3 miles away. Boat access is only 1/2 mile.
I'm also only about 1 1/2 miles from the best Maple syrup farm! Curtis has a farm market once a week, festivals, and a great 4th of July parade. St. Timothy's Catholic church welcomes visitors and has awesome potlucks, and the Lions Club does pancake breakfasts!
  • What a perfect setting for our family vacation! The cabin was such a cozy place to relax between different siteseeing adventures. We went to Seney Nature Refuge, Pictured Rocks and toured all the different waterfalls. Nina’s cabin was equipped for our family breakfast and dinners with many thoughtful touches of a welcome basket and age appropriate toys for our kids. The cabin had everything needed for an up north retreat with comfy beds, beautiful views and Nina’s gracious, generous hospitality. Don’t delay, book your adventure at Top of the Lake II today!!

    Kindy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nina has the whole hosting thing down pat. She is gracious, giving & just so personable. The cabin is cozy & retro. If you like fishing, she’ll be more than happy to take you out. The morning views of the lake are great. The location is central to lots of nearby attractions. You won’t be disappointed!

    Carrie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nina is a wonderful host. She gave us recommendations and checked in on us from time to time. Her pup Riley is adorable! We were so pleased with the cabin. The bed was so comfortable and we were able to drink our coffee while looking out at the beautiful lake each morning. What a great trip!

    Abigail2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Top 'O Lake II! From the moment we arrived Nina was pleasant and welcoming. She showed us the lovely cabin we would be staying in and told us about the area. We ended up at the End Of The Road Winery as she suggested and owners Jim and Robin were lovely people. We were able to come back to the cabin and enjoy a little fire in Nina's pit with her and her pup Riley. Once the fire died down we went inside to watch the lake though the big windows while having a glass of local wine. Top 'O Lake II is within driving distance of several UP attractions also. The area is beautiful and the people are friendly. You won't regret staying here. Nina is a wonderful host with a very nice cabin in a great area.

  • Beautiful location, great little getaway

    Elon2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Top O Lake ll was clean and cozy! Nina had a bag of breakfast items and snacks when we arrived. She was very helpful and had brochures and books about nearby attractions. We went to Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald’s Bear Ranch, Kitch-iti-Kippy, and Pictured Rocks while we stayed there. It was a perfect location right on Lake Manistique and enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets from her dock. We also loved the paddle boat and her floats in the water. Perfect 4 days and weather was great. We even saw a bald eagle that nests near her cottage!

    Heidi2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Expect outstanding views and amazing hospitality from Nina. The place is very clean and cozy.

    Malia2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family was honored to be Nina's first Airbnb guests at this quaint little cabin in the woods overlooking the pristine Big Manistique Lake. We enjoyed a short weekend here while attending a family reunion in Curtis and Engadine. The Top of the Lake II cabin has everything you could possibly need -- from kitchenware and coffee and tea to meat spices for grilling on her charcoal grill. She has thought of everything. The beds were really comfy and the radios in the living room are a nice way to zone out from a blaring television (of course, there's a TV and DVD player in one of the bedrooms if you want to watch a movie in bed). My daughter and I went fishing on Nina's peddle boat. She graciously gave us some worms so I didn't have to drive into town to buy some. The fish weren't biting, but we still had a great time. She also pulled out inflatables for my daughter to play on in the lake. Inside the cabin, Nina has books and board games for kids and adults to play (After this trip, my daughter's new favorite game is a campfire-themed board game called Toasted Roasted). This cabin is just a few miles outside of the town of Curtis. If you want to be within walking distance of those amenities, stay in town. But if you're looking for a quiet getaway in the woods, you should stay at Top of the Lake II. We'll definitely be coming back. Chad, Amanda & Madison Livengood St. Clair Shores, Mich.

From the cabin you are literally only a hours drive to all the big attractions in the area: Tahquamenon Fall, Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, Crisp Point Lighthouse, the locks etc. Everything was great with our stay at the Cozy Cabin.

  • We were not sure what to expect as we hadn't used Airbnb before. However, this turned out to be our favourite place to stay out of the 5 different places we had booked on our holiday. John and Ghe Ghe were the perfect hosts, making us feel very welcome. As we were a group of 6, the communal areas where we could socialise was fabulous. One evening we had a lovely time sat around the fire pit playing campfire games. Breakfast was simple, muffins and fruit, but there was no problem bringing our own food in as there is a fridge and microwave on the upstairs landing. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate was available all the time. The rooms were quite luxuriously decorated and really spacious. Curtis is a small, friendly town, ideally situated for exploring the Upper Peninsula with everything an easy distance away. We would certainly stay there again.

  • Exceeded our expectations. Immaculate and tasteful decor. Enjoyed the starry evening with a glass of wine, warming our toes by the fire on the front deck. Peaceful and private despite sharing the inn with other guests.

  • We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Make sure you scout ahead to find places to get food and personal items if you don't want to spend a bunch of money on those items. Overall a great trip and great little cabin, we will definitely be back and recommend it to others.

  • Terra and Mick's place was even better than described. It is an amaing value for a few reasons.....it is a fully private cabin(though if there are other residents at nearby cabins you will share outdoor space), it is dog friendly and easy to maintain the cabins cleanliness while having you pets. There is a full kitchen and outdorr grill. The bathroom was spotless. The lake is right there with a dock for your boat and Manistique lake is stunning. A few stores and bars are withind walking distance. If you want a convenient lake/outdoor experience with more comforts than camping, this is it. My husband usually like to camp very secluded with a tent so having this cabin space where our dogs were allowed and having such easy access to the lake and our boat was pure luxury! Amazing value for the money in our opinion!

Rustic Old house right in the heart of Newberry Mi. Snowmobilers haven, right on snowmobile trails. Very hot shower after long day of riding. Shared common area. Friendly family dog on premises.
House is warm and comfortable. Must be able to climb stairs
  • Justin's place is perfect for snowmobilers. There is good parking behind the house and on an alley that connects to the snowmobile trail a block away. There is a bar/restaurant 2 blocks away that we walked too. Will definitely stay again. Room was clean and quiet with exactly what we needed. If you would like to see your money go to a young family that is trying their best, this is your chance. Thanks Justin

Open Living-Dining area, knotty pine interior, large picture window facing the lake, lakeside porch and just steps to the dock and sandy beach. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.

  • Beautiful setting with access to everything that you need to enjoy the lake and the cabin. Great place to relax and take in the sunset. We were able to easily see both Pictured Rocks and Mackinac Island from this location.

  • Great value for money. Everything was in order and as advertised. WIFI and cellular communication was not good but considering remote location understandable.

    Bruce2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little getaway Cabin. First time in the upper peninsula and we had fun. We'll be back.

  • The cabin was just what we were looking for. We stayed in cabin 9 at Lakeshore Resort. It was a good size for our family and had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The lake is shallow near the cabins and allows for a large area for the kids to play. I would recommend staying there.

  • Central location for trips around the Upper Peninsula. Clean. Not fancy, but who is looking for that in rural UP. Made a great place to stay for a few days. If you are cooking, make sure you know where to get groceries. BTW, things start shutting down in mid-October.
