Places to stay in Mhamid
Discover the deeply stunning beauty of the Sahara desert at our quiet camp among the dunes. Here you will be able to listen to traditional music under a sea of stars, eat mouth-watering Moroccan dishes, and sleep in one of our four cozy adobe style huts. We are 2 km from M’Hamid El Ghizlane—away from the loud streets of town, you will find peace and tranquility in the desert.
Each private adobe hut comes with clean sheets and blankets. There is a shared bathroom facility where you can take a hot shower after a long day trekking in the Sahara. The price of the stay includes breakfast. We can also prepare an excellent traditional dinner for an additional fee. We are more than happy to adapt to your food requirements. You are of course free to explore the surrounding desert by foot or we can provide camels/4x4 vehicle.
M’Hamid is the last town before the Sahara Desert begins; as such, it is full of opportunities to deeply engage with the Sahara. There are many traditional shops, cafes, and transport options.
  • Whatever other berber camps you saw, forget about them and book this one! Said and Ahmed are absolutely lovely, highly hospitable and just amazing! Also super friendly, accomodating and interesting! I'm really glad I booked this place! The camp is located 2 kilometres outside of M'Hamid in the dunes, which is good, because it's quiet. You'll be picked up in M'Hamid and dropped back off (or they order you a Tuck Tuck to get back). You'll have your own private hut, with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is shared and basic, but perfectly good. There is even a real toilet and not a squatty, which is comfortable for westerners. The cost-benefit-ratio boggles my mind! The Wifi connection is actually very good. The food is fresh and amazing. The tea is delicious, the night sky amazing and Said and Ahmed will help and assist wherever they can. You can also book a tour with them, for example to Erg Chegaga. I did that too and it was awesome! I highly recommend this place and would go back immediatly!

  • I missed my bus to go here, but the host helped me through WhatsApp before I even arrived to Morocco. Greatest experience of my life. Would highly recommend.

  • It was such a great stay in M'Hamid! It's about 450 km away from Marrakech. You can jump on the CTM bus from Marrakech New Town to go directly to M'hamid. I takes you about 10 hours. But it is worth it - I promise!! For me it was the most unique place I've ever seen so far! And - gosh!! - these people! Said is a gorgeous host, he reads your wishes from your eyes. What an amazing experience to calm down, to enjoy the silence, to open the ears for more. I am so grateful for becoming more familiar with the this wonderful people.

  • An excellent option I have no words to describe this experience. A magical place. Thank you all it was amazing.

  • We were the only visitors in the camp. The small cabin has two beds but we slept outside under the sky anyways. Mohammad was very helpful and kind and did his best to support us. Some misunderstandings due to language barrier but overall a very good stay. It’s a little hard to find the way from the camp to the town Mhamid on your own if you don’t have a car that is suited for driving in the sand.

    Mhamid, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Our Mhamid Desert Camp is set a step away from the famous village of Mhamid, staying in our Camp gives you the opportunity to watch breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, lose yourself in the silence and peacefulness of our charming Berber tents as well as enjoy Berber campfires with traditional music, excellent traditional dinners and breakfasts. You will also have the chance to join one of our desert tours run by our Berber team.
The desert is a magical and captivating place, and one of the many flames of fascination with Morocco.  A visit to the Sahara desert is a guaranteed item on the bucket list for those who love to travel and experience the many wonders of the world. What you are guaranteed to get out of your stay in our desert camp : -  breathtaking sunsets and sunrises over a clear 360° horizon over an immensely magnificent landscape -  surreal vistas of deep orange-gold-pink colored dunes crafted by the wind -  silence, peacefulness and quiet in a vast space unlike anything most people ever get to experience - a myriad of stars and the shining band of the Milky Way across the desert night sky -  Berber’s campfires with traditional music, excellent traditional diners and breakfasts
The best thing about our neighborhood is that we are the only residents. The town is a 15-20 minute walk away (although we have a motorbike and a car we are always ready to use if you need anything from the town), and the neighboring camps are empty , so it is always quiet. The camp is where the sand dunes begins, during your stay here will give you the chance to walk more deeper in the sand dunes for more calmness and meditating by silence and watching the amazing sunsets/sunrises.
  • Enjoyed my stay here, enjoyed how close it was to the dessert. Hospitality and food were excellent

    Navin2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice people, good cooking and talented musicians! Very good and easy communication!

    Leyla2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place feels authentic and the staff cared for us. Any worries we had were gone once we looked around the location. It is remote and semi isolated from the city, so you should expect a bit on the lower side for amenities, but with that said everything available was in great condition and well maintained. We felt very welcome to make the site our own. It is also recommended to seek the dessert experience with this stay as it truly is unique and an amazing experience. We'll very likely be back in the future and recommend the spot without hesitation.

  • Do not allow yourself to make the mistake of NOT going there: book it! It was simply one of the best travel experiences I ever had. Brahim is an incredibly sweet and attentive host, a gifted musician and a great cook. I spent a little less than a week there and wished I had a month more to enjoy this place. At his home, you will feel really in the middle of the desert, the dunes are right in front of the small houses. My days were spent walking in the desert around the camp or reading in the hammock while drinking mint tea with their cat Minousha. We went to Mhamid old Kasbah, the oasis and he even organised an overnight stay deeper in the desert for us. We were blessed with live music and a sky full of stars every night. Go and see for yourself: Brahim’s place is, truly, a paradise.

  • OMG! This was by far the best experience I’ve had in all Morrocco, I couldnt get in time in Mhamid, I had to come the next day, and Brahim was very nice to change it for me, his brother came to pick me up, received me with tea and great confort, the house was clean, the view is the best! I had a lot of fun in the desert, great dinner and breakfast, they were very kind to take me to town to have lunch and bringing me back! I felt really spoiled in the desert and I had it all to myself, not being selfish, but I really enjoyed it, great sunset, sunrise, with a full moon over the fire! They have a great cook that made me the best Tagine I’ve tried so far. THANK YOU (I’m sad that I have to leave, I’m coming back for sure) You will be well received here

  • Stop reading reviews, Stop doing research, stop looking around...You found the best spot in M'hamed to stay. Hands down. This was far and away the best sleep we had in Morocco and some of the best hospitality we've been shown...ever. The boys at the camp had tea ready whenever needed and cooked an unbelievably good dinner for us (they even went as far as to ask if we preferred vegetarian or not). Beyond that they even played music with us and hung out late into the night. Organizing our stay in the Sarhara was a breeze through Brahim and our car sat at his camp while we were away and stayed perfectly safe. Once we returned the guys at the camp gave us tea and came into town with us to help organize a SIM card snafu at one of the local cell phone shops. Also, it's worth mentioning that we were a bit concerned about finding the place given the seemingly vague initial instructions. I'd be remiss not to mention that our concerns were completely unnecessary. We were met by name at the cafe they mentioned and our journey to the camp was effortless. If we had more time we would have stayed here for days and days. The solitude, comfort, and pure sense of awe really cannot be topped. I cannot sing the praises of Brahim's camp enough. Do yourself a favor and make up for our mistake—book more than one night here and stop the search. You're going to thank me later.

  • Wonder location in the desert and amazing people. Best food I had in Morocco! Can’t wait to go back!

    Amy2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brahim's camps (in Mhamid and in the desert) are great to go to if you are looking for a perfect desert experience. The organization is top notch; you don't need to think or worry about anything. The meals at the camp are delicious and the views are beautiful. Every staff member is helpful and super friendly! I promise you this: satisfaction guaranteed with Brahim and his team. 💯

    M'Hamid El Ghizlane, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco

Welcome to a place where the road ends, and the great sands begin. Our camp is located just a 15 minute walk from village M'hamid, being a perfect spot to start any trip deeper in the desert, which we are happy to organize. Our cozy eco clay-wooden huts will keep you warm at night and give coolness in a daytime. Electricity coming from solar energy is provided in each hut. Full Moroccan breakfast is served every day and is always included in the price of stay. Welcome to the desert, friends!
Our neighborhood is the beautiful, wild Sahara desert. We are located right at the place where the sand dunes begin. Here you can enjoy the silence, let your eyes rest on the line of horizon and admire magnificent sunsets every day. Tajine near the fire, breakfast served in warm morning sunshine, camel rides, cous cous with our family, traditional Saharawi henna or cooking classes are just some of ideas for spending time at the camp. But this is just the beginning! Desert Camp is not only our home, but also a place where we start our DreamTeam Caravan trips deeper into the desert, and to which we return. Our experienced guides know every path here and understand desert laws. You don't need to look further if you are looking for a safe, responsible way to explore the Sahara. We organize private, tailored trips both by 4x4 and camel trekking.
You wake up everyday to a beautiful view of small dunes where you can walk barefoot and enjoy the silence. It's also a perfect starting point for any further trips deeper in the Sahara.
  • That was wonderful, amazing time! You literally living in the desert. This is magical place. You can enjoy the silence. And at night you can see all the stars when you sitting by the fire. Food was wonderful! I felt so comfortable like at home! Thank you Mohamed and Agata for showing me this beautiful world. Also if you thinking about a trip deep to the desert. I recommend to take offers from Mohamed and Agata. I took offer trip to desert and that was incredible not forgettable experience of my life! I am defiantly someday will come back to this beautiful place!

    Gloria2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Welcome and good time at the meeting, it is a serious camp. Mohamed is nice and discreet at the same time, evening with dinner and tam tam music. The breakfast was very complete. We didn't expect to have it all Thanks to the bivouac team I recommend

    Marie Annick2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks again Mohamed and Agata! An amazing experience! Both the desert camp with all the hospitality and the tours that can be arranged. The camp itself is very neat and very clean. Nice to see how they manage and keep the sand out. The plumbing is also very good and well cared for. You cannot take it off as a hotel or residence, it is an experience with Agata, Mohamed and family. Hard to describe, but still an attempt together with the other reviews. If you can join on arrival for lunch or dinner, do the same. They cook well and fairly and everything is shared. There is no set program, everything is possible in the desert :). From the camp to the (real) kasbah (unfortunately we didn't have them with us, but the children there will be very happy with something small. A pen, pencil or a balloon puts a big smile on their face), see how it gets lived. Nice to do some shopping in the village with the men from the camp. After spending a night at the camp on the outskirts of M'hamid, we spent a night in the desert with Mohamed. He is a true nomad and will show you everything and experience it. I am still speechless that you can bake a loaf of sand without eating sand. Too many to mention. Tea with a nomadic family, sleeping under the stars, tajine with camel meat, music by the fire. You will leave with unforgettable memories and riches. Unfortunately we only had two nights but would like to come back here! In the desert, everything is possible :)

  • What an amazing experience! We drove with Moustafa, who is Mohameds cousin and Feta into the desert which is an experience on its own. Super fun time with those two while driving to Erg Chegaga. When we arrived, we made a Dromedar Tour into the sunset and afterwards the cook of the camp made a super tasty tajine. To top everything of, we made music with drums around the fire pit and then fell asleep while listening to the silence of the desert. My girlfriend and I are still stunned when thinking about the experience Agata and Mohamed provided, who are also super lovely people. All in all, we just want to come back.

    Tarik2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • I’m so happy I landed here! Mohamed was already at the bus stop in M’hamid when I arrived, and I was greeted at the camp with a fabulous meal of soup and traditional couscous (I am a chef and can verify!) The camp is clean, simple, and provides everything you need but nothing more (an important concept I think we westerners struggle to appreciate.) The fire was always going, and there’s always someone around to chat with. Mustafa and Mohamed were warm and welcoming, so I decided to book a trek deeper into the Sahara—WOW, you should DO THIS! You’ll get an authentic, wild dose of nomadic life from a native Saharan; I promise, you’ll get an unparalleled experience that will open your eyes and your heart. You’ll eat traditional cuisine cooked over live fire, see more stars than you ever have, run across swathes of infinite dunes, and enjoy the glimpse into nomadic culture in the company of a most special, genuine guide. Thank you Mohamed and Agata! :)

  • This place is an absolute gem! If you are on the fence - book it now. The hospitality of the family that works here is beyond outstanding. They make you feel at home, and introduce you to an experience that is nothing short of magical. My friends and I are already counting down the days until we can return.

    Olivia2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place is outside mhamid, right were the dessert begins. It was clean taking into consideration the conditions. They have a nice area for the evening to sit around the fire. We took also erg chigaga trip with Mohammed. It was a very nice experience.

    Cristina2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had wonderful stay at the camp! The Camp is very peaceful and quite. The room and facilities were clean and well equipped. Our stay in the dunes was unique! Everything was very well organized and Muhammed and Mustafa (his younger brother) were very lovable and knowing guides. They told us a lot about the way of living in the Sahara and respect the needs of the group. Their cooking skills were amazing! I would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to see the dunes in a less touristic and individual way. Thank you so much for everything!

Built in accordance with local methods guest house (kasbah) offers authenticity and comfort during hot summers and cold winters. The house has three rooms and all other important facilities you need for comfortable stay before you head on to your next stop in the dessert (hot shower, wi-fi, washing machine, terrace). House is run by me, Mohamed from nomad family. You will be able to explore more about our local life, nomadic family culture, desert nature, milky way, camels and more.
My guesthouse is located at the end of the village, right before the Sahara dessert. From the terrace you can have a nice view on the surrounding buildings and nature. The house is situated in a very peaceful and safe area. House has an interior garden, three guest rooms, kitchen, hamam, shared and private wc and shower. I am also offering other activities where you can explore the area: - night stay in the dessert camp around Mhamid (dunes) - camel ride - night stay in the Erg chegaga (big dunes) - jeep 4x4 You can experience camping with nomads, sand boarding, quad bike ride and sleeping under the stars.
About my village: M’hamid El Ghizlane is the last village before the vast expanses of the Sahara, is a rural municipality of the Zagora province, in the southern Drâa – Tafilalet region. It is located at the end of the N9 road, after Tamegroute, Tagounite. An ancient cultural crossroads – its territory used to be a stop for trans-Saharan traders – M’hamid El Ghizlane is part of a nomadic area. With its little adobe shacks made of mud or clay bricks, the little ochre village seems to come right out of sand. M’hamid El Ghizlane is sheltered in a palm grove stretching for 16 km along the river Drâa (oued Drâa). On one of the banks is M’hamid Bali, the old town, which holds an important kasbah. On the other side, M’hamid Jdid, the new village, offers essential facilities: groceries, craft shops, cafés, restaurants, family hotels, tourist agencies … Every Monday there is a lokal market where all nomads arrive to the city. It is a great opportunity to see the famous « blue men », desert camel-herders,and to buy local products, bathed in the colors and fragrances of these goods. M’hamid El Ghizlane has established itself as the main departure point for desert excursions, particularly to the dunes of Erg Lehoudi and Erg Chegaga erg ezahar ...
  • Highly recommend to stay here, the place is natural styled and at a quit place of the end of the town. it is easy to walk to the center and walk in the wide fields as well. We had very good sleep. good matras and delicious breakfast that was included. we had contact on whatsapp what made it easy for in and out the house. Aziz is a very friendly host. i would go there again.

  • The place is quiet and authentic and has a very good energy. You come here and feel relaxed.

    Christine2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Mohamed's place. It is situated in a quite, very safe and lovely part of the town where you can also leave your car. Mohamed took good care that we arrived safely and that we had everything we needed, as well as showed us how things worked around here. Breakfast was also very good! Furthermore, we recommend you consider taking a tour with him to see Erg Chegaga and the Oasis.

    Tobias2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • You feel immediately at ease when you arrive at Azziz. The welcome is warm, the house is very pleasant and authentic. Located at the gates of the desert, it is the perfect place to settle before going to discover the dunes. I found it very pleasant simplicity. Azziz speaks French well, as well as other languages, and the exchanges were very interesting. Azziz is very accommodating, I really recommend this place to travelers.

  • Great stay in the Sahara! Mohammad is a very kind host, very hospitable, genuine and friendly. Very comfortable room. Mohammad can help you plan your time in the Sahara, and shared lots of great local tips! Thanks!

  • I cannot say enough good things about this young man who I now call friend. You will always be treated with respect. He ensures you are welcome, comfortable and well fed. I read a lot of reviews before booking an Airbnb and sometimes am skeptical that things could be so good. But not at this place. Everything is as amazing as you could imagine. Especially if you ask this fellow to take you out into the desert. Your well-being is at the top of his mind as he ensures you make the most of your time in the Sahara. Book it! You wont regret it.

    Twylla2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice stay at Mohamed, a lot of good intentions, a place with the advantage of being already in the desert

    Bechar2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Simple accommodation on the edge of the village just before the desert. The host was very nice, has described us by sms everything well and we organized a camel ride after arrival. Accommodation was with breakfast at an unbeatable price. The car we could park directly in front of the house. Interesting, authentic village with few tourists (we were felt the only ones). We felt very comfortable and Mohamed told us a lot about the country and its people.

  • We had a great time with and with Yahya. Yahya is a very nice and flexible host. His accommodation is very clean and the breakfast was delicious. The trip to the “Erg Chegaga” desert was a highlight of our entire Morocco trip. Yahya was a very good guide.

    Lukas2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • At Yahya, we particularly appreciated the simplicity of the place, the warm welcome as well as the feeling of security that allowed us a good night's sleep. His house is at the gates of the desert and well located - following the directions he will send you. Its cuisine is also delicious and its small garden delights with the song of birds. In short! We heartily recommend it! And for those interested, Yahya also offers desert excursions. :)

    Martine2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Yaya is a super helpful guy. He organized the crossing of Chigaga and Iriki Desert which was not planned, it was really great! Night in a bivouac in the dunes with little care! I highly recommend

    Matthieu2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Yahya adapted to us and to our requests: for example, we prepared the evening meal (tagine) with him. He provided us with basins and detergent so that we could wash our clothes. And we also discussed a lot ... A simple and very warm welcome in his house. We also went on an excursion to the Erg Chagaga dunes: Yahya organized it very well (4x4, camel ride to see the sunset, comfortable bivouac, meal ...). In short, we recommend it !!

    Flora Et Guillaume2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts at Dar YaYa were really friendly and good people and the rooms are nice for couples wanting a warm shower when returning from a Desert trip.

    Louis2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful riad with a lovely courtyard garden full of birds. Yahya is very friendly and welcoming. The powerful hot shower was amazing after our days in the desert beforehand!

    Debs2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dar Yahya is at the edge of the desert gate, at the end of M'hamid. Yahya is very welcoming, the house is beautiful and quiet, pleasant with the sunny breakfast in the small central courtyard. It is also located close to shops and the Little Prince, where we meet beautiful people!

    Flora2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfull host. We drove to Mhamid by own rentalcar. He informed us to watch out for people along the road trying to stop us, which was very helpfull information. We had a fantastic stay, better than expected. We booked our desert trip upon arrival with Yahya, he took us into the desert himself. We were even able to put our car in his garage. His English is good. The desertcamp had great food, great beds and the Erg Chigaga Dunes were very impressive. Highly recommended.

Meet at our agency DesertBivouac, opposite the large mosque in M’Hamid. A drive in 4x4 vehicles takes us past the palm tree groves on our way to Bivouac El Mezouaria. In the evening you can have a nice dinner , with music around the campfire .
Word of mouth recommendations ensure numerous tourists come here, all fascinated and won over by the immense desert areas extending beyond M’Hamid El Ghizlane. Are you looking for a new form of tourism that respects nature and the environment? How about trying something really different. If you are keen to make new discoveries and learn more about Nomadic people, at Desert Bivouac you can count on a warm welcome as individual, family or as part of a group. Desert Bivouac takes you on a fantastic adventure, exploring the desert in authentic style, starting off from a village which is equally authentic. Majestic palm tree groves in the ochre-tinted earth, with sand everywhere – that is what awaits you at M’Hamid, at once the starting point for your adventure or for living your dream… The desert allows you to come and experience it, but never reveals its secrets ...
  • Ismail runs two great desert camps which we visited: the first one is close to M'hamid but nevertheless has great dunes around. The other camp is two hours drive from M'hamid in Erg Chegaga and has even better dunes around for walking around or photographing the views, camels and sunsets. Both camps serve excellent and very tasty local cuisine and Ismail can organize trips around with camels or 4x4. Absolutely beautiful experience with complete silence in the night with all those stars.

    Jari2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the stay, Ismail and the staff were friendly and attentive, the chef was INCREDIBLE! Best food in Morocco by far. I recommend the place. Thank you very much.

    Alberto2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful desert camp with all amenities. Ideal for families. Food is delicious and more than enough. The staff does everything to give the guests a special experience such as making music by the campfire. The agenncy can be easily reached via asphalt roads with the normal car, it does not require 4x4. You will then be taken to the camp by Ismael or one of his people with a 4x4.

    Peter2019-05-04T00:00:00Z

  • Unbelievably located! Just in the desert. I haven’t heard this silence yet in my whole life. Won‘t forget it! In the beginning i was a bit sceptical because i felt a bit unindependent since it is heavy to walk to the city and at night even more. But there were jeeps pendeling all the time. Also when i woke up early in the morning to catch the 6 o’clock bus. Nice breakfast as well! All in all definetly worth a visit!

    Amir2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very nice stay with a kind host. Very nice camp in the desert. Typical old location with very nice style. Very good dinner and breakfast in the desert and nice fire in the evening. The host organized everything we want for a fair pricing. Nice family tent, we visit with 3 small children (4months-23 months-3 Years).

Welcome to the Sahara Peace bivouac ! Whether for a night or several days, venturing into the desert is a strong experience for many of us. We look forward to welcoming you to share, during your stay, our life in the desert. We are specialized in organizing hikes and trekking with camels. Bivouacs under the stars, tasty cuisine, a varied landscape, we put at your service a competent, experienced and happy team to share with you their love and knowledge of the desert.
The stable bivouac is a camp permanently established in the Sahara. Between dunes and mountains, Sahara Peace's, an hour's walk from the road, consists of 5 "tents" for sleeping, built of traditional materials of earth and straw. A place for meals, a kitchen, and a small sanitary block with 2 showers (hot water possible) and 2 toilets. The whole thing is comfortable, simple and clean. Living in the bivouac for a night, a week or a month is certainly a total change of scenery and a beneficial return to simplicity.
The camp is located on the edge of a cordon of dunes, not far from a mountainous relief, and towards the plain, the view is endless. In Erg Lihoudi, you can see camels and wild donkeys passing by. Welcome to this peaceful, open, silent space, which is tinged with soft colours at sunset. Sahara Peace's bivouac is an ideal starting point for hikes of a few hours or treks of several days. Finally, it is a privileged place to organize personal development courses, such as yoga or dance.
  • Was our best experience ever. Wonderful host, wonderful place under the stars. Nothing bad to say about it. They took big care of us and treat us as a family. If you choose this camp don't forget to bring some liquor for Brahmin, you will make him super happy!

  • The traveler will be very well received and friendly. The host seeks to please and satisfy He knows the environment very well and seeks to share a life experience

  • Great stay! Our hosts were lovely. Everything went well, Ibrahim, Ahmed, Mbarek and all the others were very attentive, warm and accommodating. I will not fail to return, and I recommend them :)

  • Definitely worth visiting the Sahara piece team. Just staying at the camp is fun enough as there are dunes which you can explore during the day in the evening, but the real experience begins once the team takes you out into the Sahara. Going to the giant dunes of Erg Chigaga was mind blowing. Really something special. Further, the food every night was absolutely stellar. The place itself wasn’t what we expected, and in June and July it got so hot that to sleep under the stars was a better option than sleeping indoors. The team was so accommodating, helping to move around furniture as needed. Moubarak also helped us personally in the end as he drove us to our next destination. Thank you, Sahara peace team! It was an experience I’ll never forget!

    Nick2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Total change of scenery for us who did not have time to push further into the desert. Despite a late arrival our hosts were able to organize fun activities. A little musical evening as a bonus!

  • We booked two nights and stayed three. We really enjoyed staying in Sahara peace with the friendliest hosts, cosy rooms and the best tajin we had in morocco!! Also we did a tour which was such a Great experience- wow! I highly recommend staying in this authentic place.

  • The host Brahim and his family are super friendly, caring and helpful! Amazing space and food. Dessert is super relaxing and calm.

  • What a wonderful experience, once in a lifetime, thank you! The M’hamid camp is just outside of town and nestled near the dunes, in itself a wonderful place/experience. The trip to the dunes at Chigaga which Brahim organized for us was just breathtaking. On a practical note, the camp is a little hard to find, so just stop at a cafe in M’hamid when you arrive and message/call Brahim - someone will come to meet you and show you the way. Also, if you tell the cafe owner where you are staying they can help you. Brahim was a wonderful host, and put up with my thousands of questions before our visit. Thank you again, we will remember this trip forever!

    Argyle2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brahim was an exceptional host. He was very responsive to my messages and his airbnb in Mhamid is right at the entrance to the Sahara. Him and his folks were very hospitable and we had an amazing time. We also did the one night Erg Chegaga desert camp trip and it was mind blowing! Everything was beyond our expectations and we had a blast. Highly recommend!

    Shalini2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The site is great. The rooms are very large and much nicer than i had thought with views from the door and windows are of the sand dunes. Food was great and the guys were really friendly, always asking how i was doing and if i needed anything. Brahim met me at the bus stop unexpectedly when i arrived in town which was really cool. The highlight of the stay is actually the hut rooms. They stay warm when it got colder at night (November) and face the sand hills with the mountains on the background. my room had a king size bed and alot of space. This time of year there is no milky way but the sky is still full of stars. The nearby town of mhamid is friendly and happy. My traveling had been a bit hectic so this was the perfect place to relax for a few nights and take it easy.

    Joseph2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying in Brahim's camp. The rooms are nice and clean. The guest area is super stylish with an amazing view. The breakfast was included and was really delicious. Anytime I needed a ride from the camp to the centre they always say yes. I will definitely stay with them again and again, thanks alot

    Azeddine2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I didn’t quite know what to expect, but communication was always very quick, so that made me feel very confident. Although we probably could have clarified the meeting point earlier. The trip to Sahara was through a 4x4, but the window was down so it did get a bit warm. On the way back, it was windy so our driver did turn on the AC, but it wasn’t very strong. Not super bad, the travel time was about 90 mins. Wonderful experience!

    Cindy2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brahim's Berber camp and desert tours are highly recommended! The locals, the food, the views, the whole lot of it made for a definitely unforgettable experience. Sleeping under the stars during summer is obviously preferable than staying inside the hut. I would love to come back!

    Reli2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The drive to camp is in itself quite an experience, going through various desert terrain. Tents were clean, the food was good and we had a great camel ride in the sand dunes. We were off season and were the only guests at the camp which made for a unique experience.

Rejuvenate yourself away from all the pollution of the city, in the pure and peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Discover nomadic life with real Sahrawi nomads, between rides camels , music under the stars and around a campfire, typical tents and bivouacs, and excellent Moroccan dishes.
Housing in traditional nomadic tents or traditional daub houses, with excursions in the desert of southern Morocco in option. The houses have electricity thanks to solar panes, and there is running water for showers and toilets. We adapt to your preferences of food and transportation (foot, camel or 4x4). We can enhance the usual camel seat to provide you extra comfort and provide boards for sand surfing. If you have special wishes of destination, leasure or any other enquiries, just ask, and we'll do everything satisfy you. The price that we offer is for the accommodation in a bivouac (traditional daub house) in M'Hamid El Ghizlane, the starting point of any excursion. It includes breakfasts and tea on demand. The price of the excursions depends on the options chosen (duration, destination, leasures, mean of transport, number of people, food, etc.).
Friendly nomadic people (Sahrawi), who had to settle down because of harder conditions of border crossing toward Algeria, Mali, etc Shops, cafes, cyberspaces with computers and internet, taxis and buses are available in the village of M'Hamid El Ghizlane, a few minutes walk from the bivouac.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Shaid and Achmed. We feld super welcome. they are very kind and hospitable. The place is like a little comune with (little) cats and dogs and a lot of friends. Its like a desert-farm. The place is near the desert village M'Hamid (20 minutes walk) but it feels like far, far, far away from everthing. That makes the place special and makes a good otherworldly experience. From the place you can make different trips to the dunes of Chegaga. Depending on your wishes you can choose your adventure. They think in solutions! When you like adventure, nature and camping than is this place the place to be! Here your mind can be blown away;) We are already planning our next visit to Morocco to stay longer at this magical place of Said and Achmed. Thanks for everything see you later, insjallah!

  • I would give 1 million stars if I could!!!! AMAZING trips to Erg Chegaga and Erg Zeher, seeing the Milkyway at night, and of course being a part of this wonderful and caring family. I was a little apprehensive when looking for a place to stay as a solo-female traveller. I'm happy to say I felt exceptionally secure here, and had little trouble in Morocco as a whole. There's good phone connection (get an Orange SIM card). You can get almost anything you need in the village which is a 20 minute walk away. Said is a quiet man at first, but once he gets to know you he will open up. ;) He is incredibly insightful, clever, honest, and thoughtful. I learned so much from him. I will carry his wise words in my heart wherever I go. Except for breakfast, you pay for the meals they cook for you. You can use the kitchen, and the food in town is cheap. There's an ATM on the far side of the village (30 min walk). Inchallah I will be back in no time. :)

  • Amazing time relaxing in the desert with the wonderful host Said. We drank tea throughout the day, watched the magnificent Saharan sunset, and gazed at the many stars. Would recommend this camp to anyone because it is beautiful and the hosts are too kind.

  • Had a great night stay, and from here organised a great desert excursion. Said was very helpful and accommodating. It was a desert stay so wasn't expecting many home comforts but the Bivouac was a great place to stay in. The onward desert camp at Erb Chegaga organised by Said was incredible and a great experience. Would recommend for people wanting to see the Moroccan desert!

I’d recommend to anyone wants to explore the wild nature and have a taste of Morocco culture (and the food).

Our Mhamid Desert Camp is set a step away from the famous village of Mhamid, staying our Camp gives you the opportunity to watch breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, lose your self in the silence and peacefulness of our charming Berber tents as well as enjoy Berber campfires with traditional music, excellent traditional diners and breakfasts.
  • Great stay at the Airbnb and awesome tour into the desert!

  • My family had a wonderful stay in Brahim's AirBNB and at the desert camp. Driving into M'hamid, we were met at a cafe by Brahim's brother and followed him to the home. There was no chance of getting lost The accommodation is basic, but comfortable and very clean. We were greeted with tea and a delicious dinner on the first night. Our girls (5 & 8) loved sliding down the dunes and it was magical when the sun set and all the stars came out. The desert camp was amazing. Hussein, Mohammed and everyone at the camp were fantastic. The camel ride to watch the sun set over the dunes was a major highlight, as was the visit to the oasis for fresh squeezed juice and the sandboarding. The sing song around the fire after dinner was so much fun and everyone treated our children with so much kindness. It did get cold at night in January, but we were prepared with warm clothes for the nighttime and there were lots of extra blankets provided. It was truly magic and such an adventure. We loved every minute and recommend it highly.

  • What a great experience. We were met in M’hamid by Brahim’s cousin and went on to Erg Chegaga for a night in the desert. Everything was great, food, hospitality, tents. The sunset over the dunes was incredible. Only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back to do a 4-5 day trek in the desert. Thank you Brahim!

  • Amazing trek into the Sahara. We spent on night at Brahim’s camp and two more at the desert camps. Absolutely amazing experience, loved every moment. Do not hesitate to go!

  • I hesitate to write a stellar review because I don't want to over-expose the magical and peaceful charm of this relatively hidden gem. But - if you want an authentic, not-too-westernized, Sahara Desert experience - this is the place to go. Brahim and his brother and cousins have built a fantastic, intimate, cultural retreat, complete with a scenic, isolated setting, traditional Moroccan cuisine, warm showers, sand skiing, camel riding, and Saharan music by the campfire. It's not easy to get to, but it's absolutely worth the effort.

  • Enjoyed my stay there, room as described, even with air conditioning. Omar and Mustafa help out with everything you need. Loved the small (and big) pieces of art everywhere, the relaxed and joyful atmosphere and the location directly in the center of M‘Hamid. Breakfast and dinner are offered in great amount and quality. Coming back for sure :)

  • Had an amazing time here. The staff especially Omar, Mostafa, Ayoub, and Mohamed were absolutely wonderful and always making sure I was doing great. I also took a 4 day trip in the Sahara and it was incredible. Mohamed and Ayoub were the greatest guides and cooks I could have asked for and the food here was incredible in general. Definitely stay here when your in M'hamid

  • Our stay at Dar M'Hamid has been very pleasant. Omar and his staff are very kind and welcoming!! Also Omar was very responsive! The room we had was clean and nice and there is the possibility to have lunch and diner, which is good! We went one night in between our nights here into the desert and Omar was as kind to give us the possibility to leave our car and luggage. When you visit M'Hamid and/or a trip into the Sahara I would really recommend staying here!!

  • Excellent room, communication and service, well worth the (stunning) bus trip from marrakech Room as described. Onsuite, western toilet, shower with good pressure and sockets for recharging gadgets. Friendly staff and excellent chefs. Breakfast more than I could possibly eat. I recommend ordering evening meal as again quantity and quality superb. No hard sell from omar but I went on his nomad experience desert trip and had a brilliant and insightful 24 hours. See next reference as I then stayed on as this listing is highly recommended.

    Louise And Clive2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Went on omar's overnight nomad experience camp in the dunes trip. Superb....A real insight. With 3 x 1.2-2 hour walks (not riding) with the camel a general level of fitness is required. Leaving 10.30 am for 1st walk then lazy afternoon under the palm trees. 2nd walk into the dunes late afternoon when it's cooler. unpack the camel to pitch camp in the dunes. Modern tent for sleeping not the pre pitched permanent affairs offered by other operators. Sat at top a dune to watch the sunset. Dinner round the fire. Incredible star showing between sunset and the moon appearing. A true nomadic experience and some incredible memories. Shame airbnb doesn't have the facility to upload photos. Meals included, all cooked on an open fires. Tips: Good walking shoes that can cope with the sand. Water bottle and rucsac/bag to carry water, let the camel carry carry the big bottle! Overnight bag so you can leave main luggage at guesthouse. Take wipes, disposal bags and maybe antibacterial gel for toilet arrangements. Plenty of palms or dunes to nip behind. Not to be missed. Fantastic 24 hours and well worth the (stunning itself) bus ride from marrakech.

Kasbah Sahara Services is a traditional Berber house situated at the foot of Mhamid village in southern Morocco. It is a family run guesthouse and restaurant. It is an excellent haven for a warm welcome and a true Moroccan experience.
It is quite easy to find on the road direct at the entrance of the village on the right hand. The magnificent scenery and Berber architecture with zellige on the ground, tadellaket in the wall, an arrangement reconciling refinement, elegance and sobriety are a wonderful introduction to this guesthouse. The house disposes of 6 magnificent air-conditioned rooms, 6 tents and beautiful terraces. Opened on a small garden, where orange trees, palm trees, bougainvilleas and rosebushes create a particular charm, it extends over 200 m ² with 150m ² of terraces.
MHamid is a small Sahara Desert village in the Zagora region of Morocco. Mhamid is one of the two places in Morocco where Sahara begins (another is Merzouga). MHamid is the real Sahara Desert and an the perfect place to have a Morocco Travel Sahara Trek and experience. MHamid is arguably more “authentic” part of the Sahara Desert. MHamid is just 7- 8 hours by car from Marrakesh and 5 hours from Ourzazate.

  • It was a very very nice trip to M'hamid. We stayed longer than we wanted and a tip: you don't have to go to Che Gaga or a other touristic desert place. The home from Abderrahmane, Hessam, Faisal and all the other people is the beautifulest place I ever been. You only have to go out of the house, cross the road and there is the true desert, 2 Dromedars and Palm trees without ending. Hessam and Faisal were so nice to us, I drive the first time in my life with Faisals Motorrad and Hessam sings and plays guitar like no other. I am total in love with this place. I hope I come back soon.

  • Abdul and Sid Achmed are great people. They are very thoughtful, patient and are always happy to help. Abdul never forgets to be thankful. At one point he even thanked China for his smartphone. He certainly taught us what it means to be content. Our trip to the desert was breathtaking. Quite and peaceful but wild at the same time. Sleeping under the stars, cooking diner in the sand, singing and playing guitar around the campfire. Yes, it may sound cliche but when you lay there in your sleeping bag and you look up to the sky, the only thing you can think of is: 'I am so happy to be alive'. Thanks for everything

    Helena2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • I came to this camp looking for an experience that didn’t make me feel like a tourist. The camp itself is beautifully crafted made special by abdol’s generous and warm heart. In no time I became part of an amazing family which included abdols beautiful and genuine friends. I can’t recommend the experience of travelling into the desert dunes, with only our camping gear, our ingredients for a tajine and tea, our camels and our individual arabian turban. I felt like a true Saharan cowboy stopping to let the camels feed whilst myself and abdol scoured the area for the fire wood we would need to cook our dinner...the absolute highlight of it all was being wrapped up in my sleeping bag and just staring up at the most beautiful night sky you could imagine. I will spread the word to anyone who even mentions about going to Morocco to go and visit these authentic guys

  • This was the best part of our trip to Marrakech. Just book it without any questions. Desert is an another kind of experience and you should know what you want to do before you arrive to Mhamid. We really had a difficult time to choose what to do in the desert but Agata and Mohammed helped us the find the best possible way just for us. Dont hesitate to go Desert Camp Chraika. It was simply the best.

  • Mohamed and Agata’s desert oasis was nothing short of visually spectacular, and completely comfortable. Pair that with their outstanding hospitality (driving my partner and I to and from the bus station, bringing us tea and smoothies at random, taking us on an impromptu tour of the old town kasbah, entertaining us around the fire, arranging a sunset camel ride, etc.) and with the best meals we’ve had in our extended stay in Morocco— we had an experience that words cannot do justice, you’ll just have to see for yourself. Also a shoutout to Mohamed’s younger brother Mustafa; the sweetest desert guide we could have asked for. Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed!

  • This is by far one of the best experiences you can have. Everything was super clean, amazing hospitality...and Mohamed and Agata help to coordinate desert trips of all sorts (highly recommend to take them up on the offer). They helped arrange a taxi for me as well to and from the airport and it was super easy getting to their place. This is a place I definitely want to revisit in the future. You should go!!

  • We had the best time at Mohamed and Agata amazing camp. Staying there is a unique experience which we would definitely recommend to anyone traveling Morocco. In summer it’s too hot to sleep inside, so you’ll leave your bags in your room and Sleep outside on the beds while looking at the stars. Mohamed drove us whenever we needed to the village, they cooked for us breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved the camp itself, the people there, the atmosphere, the thousands litres of tea, the delicious tajine, the frozen water to survive the 48 degrees... Also, we would totally recommend letting Mohamed organising a tour to the big dunes and a camel walk on the dunes. We truly hope to be back in winter ☺️

  • Where do I start! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, our trip was easy and amazing. Mohammed and Agata cherish their guests and truly offer a fantastic experience. If you’re looking for an adventure or just a break away you will not be disappointed. The food was lovingly made by our now good friend Mustafa and in camp there is everything you need from shampoo in the showers to WiFi (if you want it) it’s very clean and stylish and all you have to do is ask if you need anything. The desert trip was organised with everything included and it will touch your heart to feel their hospitality. You will leave with good friends in the desert and definitely want to return. I recommend you don’t take so much stuff as you won’t need it when camping on the desert and prepare yourself for long walking days to start but great peaceful resting moments after. The food is traditional and prepared beautifully but remember you are still camping so it will be the best you can get with what you have. Even in the midst of a sandstorm we had a lovely rice dish prepared by Mustafa as he made sure our needs were met with enthusiasm and love. ‘No problem’ is a constant repetition and you will really feel looked after. Evenings of talking and great food and laughs. Berber hospitality is genuine and the tea is fab, Get to know your guides at the first instant and you will find these people are warm and friendly and loving. We will definitely be returning to our friends in the desert As soon as we can x

  • BEST PLACE TO STAY IN MHAMID! Mohammed is more than a host, he is a real nomad who knows how to put you at ease and will fold in 4 so that everything goes well for you in this desert which is his. Looking forward to return!

  • Thanks to Agata and Mohamed, we experienced wonderful moments in the desert. We felt all the time taken care of from the very moment of arrival, to the last moments! The nomads who wandered with us Hassan and Zaid have compasses in their heads, they cook delicious tagins, they bake bread in the campfire, and Ahmed enjoys the local music! Camels are fantastic animals, it was good to watch them! High dunes and starry sky over the desert will not dream about us! Sahara saves in the soul. Thank you very much to everyone. Agnieszka and Alicja.

  • My partner and I had an amazing experience with Agatha and Mohammed’s desert team! We felt safe and welcomed into their close community of friends. Mohammed and other guide led us on the 1.5 day trek, cooking great fresh meals and making sure we were well rested and taken care of. He made delicious bread in the hot sand while we enjoyed the clear night sky. Agata is very kind and made the booking process reassuring. She joined us for the Jeep ride through various desert areas and for the night in Erg Chigaga at a large camp in the big dunes, which was incredible!! We highly recommend a trekking experience with an overnight in Erg Chigaga for anyone looking for authenticity and an appreciation for nature’s incredible landscapes. We plan to recommend to any friends wanting a truly wonderful experience!

Our camp is 5km from the famous village of M'hamid. Staying at our camp gives you the opportunity to watch breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, lose your self in the silence and peacefulness of the Sahara, rest soundly in Berber tents, as well as enjoy nighttime campfires with traditional music, excellent traditional dinners, and filling breakfasts. You will also have the chance to join one of our desert tours run by our experienced team.
You can sleep in either traditional nomadic tents or traditional daub (adobe) houses. The houses have electricity thanks to solar panels, and there is running water for showers and toilets. The price that we offer is for the accommodation in a bivouac (traditional daub tent). It includes breakfasts and tea on demand. Dinner is available for an extra cost (generally ~€ 6-8/person depending on market prices). We also offer guests tours into the desert with knowledgeable and experienced local guides. The price of the excursions depends on the options chosen (duration, destination, means of transport, number of people, food, etc.).
MHamid is the last town before the Sahara desert begins. It is full of opportunities to deeply engage with the desert.

  • I had an absolutely amazing time staying with Mustafa. He is an incredible host. He picked me up from the CTM bus station in M'Hamid (10 HR drive from Marrakech), and we drove a few minutes to his peaceful camp on the edge of the Sahara. There, I ate the *best* tagine I've ever had, gazed into a sea of stars, and slept soundly in a very cozy room. In the morning, I had an amazing breakfast and Mustafa was able to help me organize a camel tour into the desert (which was SUPER cool!) I feel like I was able to engage deeply with the desert and the culture despite my short stay. I will always carry these memories with me. Thank you so much Mustafa! Inshallah, I will be back soon!! :)

  • Very nice experience! House very well placed a few steps from the dunes. • Never lived or experienced anything like this place before! Would definitely stay again and recommend this hidden treasure to all who appreciate authenticity, sincerity and uniqueness. You will be received as family member and you will be treated as dearest guest! Geneviève is the most attentive, caring and discreet host we have ever met. She created an amazing home for travelers and took Airbnb concept on a whole other dimension! It's not surprising that her team includes such an amazing person like Mokhtar! As long as there are such people like Geneviève and Mokhtar I have hope for our world - they make it a better place to live!

  • Mokhtar and Youssef went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. And they did it with ease. They cooked very well and plenty for us. The soups were particularly good! The main room or dining room is very beautiful and not only stylishly furnished but also equipped with a fireplace! In this cold season at night (January) it was great to warm up and feel good. In the rooms there were electric heaters that made a woolly warmth possible. The kasbah behind the "Chant des Dunes" facility is definitely an insider tip !!! Partly inhabited, partly abandoned, original and wildly romantic. Absolutely worth seeing. We also did a dromedary ride in the desert: with an overnight stay in the nearby sand dunes! An exceptional experience! Particularly noteworthy was the "Pain de Sable" by Youssef ... a Berber tradition in which bread is baked in the sand right next to the fire! The best bread that I have eaten in Morocco. WE WILL COME BACK, NO QUESTION....

    Alexius2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great welcome from Moktar, a very quiet, authentic, clean, pleasant place to rest. We were with family and we really recommend if you are looking for something authentic and different. Excellent meals, the best breakfast we had during our stay and original menus. Unfortunately we did not make excursions in the desert with Moktar, we had already booked before for the very touristic dunes of Cheggaga ... We will undoubtedly come back to make a more authentic excursion with Moktar, that gave us desire. You understand we recommend without hesitation !!!

  • Really very good. Very calm Very kind Very welcoming We laugh a lot with the family. Very good meal. To do and come back.

    Philippe2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is sober, imposing and dark. It keeps the freshness, which is very appreciable. Comfort is basic but sufficient. Very nice welcome from the family. Make it clear if you want to be independent for the kitchen or let Aïcha cook (recommended !!!). We live at the rhythm of the family, they are the strong point of this experience. At the edge of the ksar you can walk in a landscape of small dunes, with some groves of palm trees and tamarind trees to make stops in the shade.

  • The nicest people on earth, so genuine and welcoming, living in an area so calm, beautiful and charged of history. To walk in the first dunes of this immense desert that are a few steps away is an incredible feeling.

    Benjamin2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful and inspiring! conducive to introspection and mediation. The family is really welcoming and Aziz, a very helpful and caring young man with his guests. He even inspired us with these few lines: Man of the desert In the heart of the desert, the silhouette of a nomad stands out in the distance. Dressed in a blue gandoura revealing his brown and fine facial features. His gaze at the warm ambruns recall the land of his ancestors. The marks of time glide over his camel skin, leaving no traces except goodness. Its size does not reach the height of the dunes but it is capable of training alone hordes of travelers, in search of tranquility and wonder. The desert brought out this man who understands his language and his subtleties. By following him he opens his doors to us. A calm and luxuriant place of striking beauty. Resistant to the assault of time. Dunes as far as the eye can see surrounded by palm trees, plants as numerous as they are unexpected. Bearing the name of Aziz, bearer of dreams and hope. A confidant, a friend who accompanies beyond time. It contains in itself the essential, the rest turns around to pass out in a mirage. His imperceptible anger in the heart lasts only the time of a dream. A treasure remains in him, his sensitivity which is only offered to the pure heart and thirsty for sweetness. While calling him to somewhere else. The escape that plunges us inside. It can only be found where his heart resides, in the Sahara of Bounou.

    Anis2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Sarhani family gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. We had dinner with the family twice and we loved it, definitely recommend it to any one who wishes to experience true Moroccan hospitality. Next to that the location is absolutely sublime!

  • An incredible immersion into another world - hospitality and conviviality at its best ! Thankyou, may we meet again!

  • Our stay at the home of Aziz and his family was, simply, spectacular. The place, slightly removed from the tourist MHamid, offers the opportunity to experience the desert with tranquility. Sharing the table with the family is a luxury, sleeping in the silence of the unforgettable Ksar de Bounou. We can only recommend this place to which, undoubtedly, we will return. Our stay at Aziz 'was simply wonderful. The location, just a few km away from the touristic Mhamid, offers the opportunity to peacefully experience the desert. Sharing the food and the table with Aziz 'family was a wonderful gift, sleeping in the Bounou's Ksar simply unforgettable. We can only recommend this place. since we ourselves will surely return soon.

We are surrounded by small dunes, it is very beautiful and quiet here. Central point of the camp is a fireplace where we chill out each night before going to sleep.

  • We were in Morocco with our two small children of 7 and 10 years old and Habib knew to be attentive and to their listening to them as with us besides. He has seized opportunities to please them. Habib is someone very calm, very sweet and very posed and he has allowed us to live wonderful moments in the desert. As for his apartment, it is quite correct with a beautiful terrace where you can even sleep. To recommend

  • The Habib house has a very nice terrace, basic services and even wifi. Habib and his companions are very kind. They delighted us with one of the best tajines we have tasted. It is a very nice place for families, and one step away from the desert activities, where you can also help to hire it. It has been a pleasure.

  • We stayed with Habib for one night and he organized a private desert tour for us for 3 nights. On our return we showered and changed before heading off. The hospitality was great. We had tea on arrival and ate a delicious tagine with Habib and Mohamed our desert guide. The following morning we packed for the desert, collected camels and provisions and spent 3 nights in the desert. The experience was great. The cooking was excellent with plenty of food for lunch and dinner. The walking was easy with enough breaks. We were alone all the time and away from heavy tourist areas. The desert is cold so bring good wool under clothes but the tent and many wool blankets kept us warm. Camp fires and singing and making desert bread in the sand was a really good experience. We will probably return next year and spend longer in the desert walking to Erg Chegaga. We recommend Habib’s team for a private and friendly experience.

  • This was by far the highlight of out trip to Morocco. From start to finish Habib was a truly amazing host, with great communication and kindness from start to finish. Myself and 2 friends, spent one night in Dar Toureg, and 2 nights in the desert with Habib as our guide. Habib made us feel completely at home, and the accomodation was so clean, comfortable and relaxing. The food was the best we had in Morocco, with delicious tagine and plentiful mint tea. Our trip to the Sahara, was mind blowing.. absolutely magical and captivating watching the most amazing sunsets and sunrises from the majestic sand dunes. Evenings were spent with music and laughter, as we got to know Habib.. a warm, kind funny and interesting man. It was a unforgettable experience, the tranquillity and silence, and beautiful clear views of the most amazing stars under the desert sky. We cannot wait to return, and cannot recommend Habib and his hospitality enough.. he showed us a truly authentic experience of nomadic life in the magical Sahara. He was so helpfull in every way from the moment we arrived, and his prices are very fair too. We were sad to leave, and only wish our trip was longer. Big thanks for everything, and making our trip so special :)

  • Even if when we arrive there was a problem of communication due to the night bus arrival, the stay with this big family was incredible! They made everything to make us feel like home. We shared food and typical things. The place is amazing and the bungalows super tidy and clean. After a long trip we finally relaxed and took a hot shower. Beds are comfortable and the crew is friendly. Best place to look at the stars in a quiet night with typical music around the fire. Thank you Abdoul and Hamza, we will definitely go back!

  • This was the most amazing experience of our tour of Morocco. Camp Sahara is in a beautiful setting on the edge of the Sahara, surrounded by palm trees. Our room was really clean & comfortable, everyone there went out of their way to make our stay special. The food, delicious, and the best live music around the campfire. We decided to stay in the area longer and booked the excursion further into the desert to Erg Chegaga. I am so glad that we did, it was an out of this world experience, we all enjoyed sandboarding down the dunes, a camel ride to the highest dune, and you couldn't ask for a better view of the sunset, and back to camp for yet another freshly cooked tajine, and more entertainment round the fire. The peace and tranquilty of this part of the Sahara is something you really shouldn't miss if you come to the area. To lie on cushions gazing up at the billions of stars is something I will never forget. Abdoul and his team will go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. Thank you so much, we will be back.

  • What a wonderful desert experience! I can recommend this camp to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in Mhamid. Abdoul and his team were extremely welcoming and helpful, the permanent tents are very clean and cozy and the beds comfortable. My tent had an ensuite toilet and shower. Dinner and breakfast prepared at camp were delicious! We had a bonfire one night and the crew played traditional music and songs for us. Don’t forget to look up at the stars! I will be back, thank you!
