The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Highly recommended! Excellent stay!

  • Beautiful little cabin very cosy and warm with fire! Shower would be perfect in summer but cold for winter months overall great place to stay!!

  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x

Our attractive, modern, ground floor coastal apartment, with its own decking, for one or two guests, enjoys magnificent sea views, is a stone's throw from Perranporth's wide, golden, sandy surfing beach and is very close to village amenities. It contains everything you will need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Wi-Fi throughout. Central heating. No cleaning fees. Parking to rear. The coastal footpath is just outside our front gate. You will never tire of the view; it will keep you spellbound.
If there is a one night vacancy showing on the calendar, between other bookings, please message to enquire about availability. The whole apartment is centrally heated, double glazed and has Wi-Fi throughout. I don't charge a cleaning fee and we also don't charge extra for electricity or for the central heating. Located here in glorious Perranporth, Cornwall, enjoying the most incredible far reaching views, with a landscape which is constantly changing, yet we are only a stone's throw away from the beach and everything which the village has to offer - eateries, shops, bars, pubs etc. You can walk everywhere. We have provided rattan chairs, a table, and full length loungers on the apartment's decking, where you can dine alfresco, all the while drinking in the amazing view laid out before you. Early risers can experience a Perranporth sunrise from a decking viewpoint. We even provide throws and a hot water bottle to keep you warm and toasty should you wish to sit outside when the weather turns chillier. There are windbreaks, seating and mats for the beach located in the main hall. From the decking, step through the French doors into the main living area. Here we have a large flat screen smart television with NETFLIX for our guests, DVD player with dvds, dining table and two chairs, a very comfortable leather two seater recliner sofa, coffee tables and a fully equipped kitchen area. There are ample cupboards and worktop surfaces with fridge (including a small freezer compartment), microwave, electric oven, ceramic hob, toaster and kettle. The apartment is equipped with stainless steel saucepans, Pyrex dishes, white tableware, a selection of various glasses (wine/champagne/tumblers), cutlery, place-mats, tea towels and many other sundries. We have provisioned it with fresh milk, tea, instant coffee, cafetière with ground coffee, drinking chocolate, biscuits and condiments. Dish washing, cleaning items, bin liners, J-cloths etc are kept beneath the sink. Additionally, there is an iron, ironing board, and portable clothes dryer. We have also put out binoculars, board games and playing cards and a selection of relevant books about Cornwall and paperbacks to keep you entertained. There are lots of leaflets in the apartment detailing Cornish attractions, including discount vouchers too, along with a set of tide tables so you can keep an eye on what the sea is doing. I am more than happy to drop off a daily newspaper for you as I always nip down to the village to get my own first thing in the morning. The apartment's main front door is located within this area. Walking through to the bedroom there is a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, lots of drawer space, bedside cabinets with matching lamps and a king size bed made up with a king size duvet and attractive bed linen. In addition there is a wall mounted Smart TV with DVD player (there are some DVDs in the apartment should you wish to watch them) on which the internet can also be accessed and NETFLIX for our guests. Additionally, there is a hairdryer and bedside clock radio. The fully tiled en-suite shower room, with heated towel rail, has an excellent power shower and towels (one bath and one hand towel per person) provided, along with various toiletries eg shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. We have our own private car park to the rear of the main property. Check out is at 11am but we are more than happy for guests to leave their car for a few extra hours after this time so that they can eke out their break just a little longer before their return journey. Just ask. From our apartment you can look across to the exact spot on the cliffs opposite where Winston Graham wrote the novels Ross Poldark and Demelza in the 1940's. Of course, most of the filming for the television series Poldark takes place around Cornwall, and hereabouts. The beach is famed for its wide expanse of golden sand, which is cleaned regularly throughout most of the year. It's a tremendous walk to the other end of the beach (just watch out for the incoming tide!) or to meander along the sandy dunes. It's great for surfing, with a surf school practically on the doorstep (closed during the winter months, although there are others in the village open all year round). Lifeguards patrol the beach for your safety during the busier months. Storm watching can be wild and exciting in the winter months, especially if the tides are exceptionally high, when the beach takes on a very different character. Watch all the excitement from inside without getting cold and wet outside! Access to the coastal footpath is practically on our doorstep and it's a glorious walk to St Agnes, which is about four miles away across the cliffs. Or to Holywell Bay in the other direction. The Watering Hole, located on the beach itself, is a very popular bar/restaurant to view some of our amazing sunsets over the ocean. Perranporth Golf Club, enjoying breathtaking views up and down the coast, is one of Cornwall's finest links courses and is only a 1.4 mile drive away. Perranporth Tennis Club has six grass courts and three newly resurfaced floodlit hard courts. It is open to visitors and is only a 0.5 mile walk away from us. The nearest riding stables are just under two miles from us by road. The local doctors' surgery and Boots the Chemist are extremely close, should you require their services during your stay. The bustling cathedral city of Truro is only nine miles away (try The Heron Inn overlooking the Truro River at Malpas, which is just a couple of miles drive/walk from the City centre); the famous Eden Project 26 miles and St Ives 24 miles distant (hint: drive to Lelant Saltings or St Erth then take the train right into St Ives, a very memorable scenic railway journey, albeit quite short, as driving around St Ives can be quite challenging). If you're a Doc Martin fan then why not go to Port Isaac which doubles as Portwenn in the series. We love having lunch at The Budock Vean Hotel (TR11 5LG) at Mawnan Smith, 21 miles away, followed by a walk through the beautiful grounds down to The Helford River (think Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek). Their Cornish cream afternoon teas are such a treat too: large, homemade scones, with lashings of Cornish cream and Boddington's strawberry jam, along with a selection of delicious homemade cakes. Travelling widely over the years has given us an insight into what travellers like and expect. We have, therefore, used this knowledge when setting up the apartment for our guests. However I am always very open to any suggestions to make your stay with us special and memorable. If you think we've forgotten something, therefore, please don't hesitate to let us know. We don't charge a cleaning fee either. So come and share our view with us. We guarantee you won't be disappointed. Please also see our other Airbnb listing for four people: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/19563456. This apartment is located on the opposite side of Bay Court's main hallway
We have travelled fairly extensively over the years and we both think that the beach here at Perranporth has got to be one of the very best beaches in the world. Come and experience it for yourself.
  • Our stays at Beth's apartment was lovely, the view was amazing. The apartment was clean and tidy. Beth was welcoming and on the phone if needed. Will definitely return one day.

    Alice2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the deck are spectacular. Even in wintery blustery weather it was a stunning place to be. Everything we needed had been thought of. It was great.

  • We stayed at Beth's place for one night for my boyfriends birthday, on arrival their were thoughtful touches of confetti and napkins saying happy birthday and even a card. The apartment was very clean and homely it felt like we had been there forever! Lovely area and lovely hosts, we plan to go back in the future probably in the summer for a few days as it was so nice this time.

    Jemma2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Easy communication, thoughtful touches such as flowers, birthday confetti and biscuits to enjoy. Well stocked cupboards, ideal for self catering. Within easy walking distance of local shops, restaurants and beach. Perhaps the best feature is the view. Endless hours could be lost gazing out to sea.

Secluded, self contained, 1 bedroom apartment in our home by the sea. Bedroom, bathroom (shower), living area with kitchen. Living room with TV (Netflix, iPlayer ...) sofa, dinning table & chairs, kitchen (hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge & freezer.). Bathroom with shower, sink & loo. Bedroom with king size bed, wardrobes. WiFi, USB ports, Bluetooth speaker. The flat has private parking by it's own entrance (key code access). Not suitable for babies or children and we are keeping it pet free.
It's a cliff top house, overlooking the sea and beach, on the edge of the village we love, Perranporth. To get the great sea views in the photos you do need to step outside the flat and go up the stairs to the top deck, that you can use anytime. From the flat you do have a limited narrow view of the sea down the side of the house (see current photo 13), but it's worth going up the outside stairs ! From the property, walk down to the beach and Perranporth village with plenty of shops, surf schools, restaurants, pubs and cafes. OR turn left onto the coastal path. St Agnes is a bit under a 90 minute cliff top walk. Dinner and a taxi back is a great evening. The house, including the flat was completed in late 2017. We tried to take on a lot of current "eco" build ideas in that the house is well insulated (triple glazed windows, sheeps wool in the walls), and has most of the internal air continually refreshed, not from vents and gaps, but a ventilation system that gives more filtered and dehumidified fresh air into the building than a traditional property. There is some more obvious tech in that the light switches give multiple scenes, the bathroom lights are PIR sensor triggered and the blinds are on remote controls.
Droskyn headland is at the south end of Perranporth beach, at the edge of the village.
  • Rory is a lovely host! The cabin is attached to his house, a very modern ecological beauty, that has his own entrance and is connected to the main balcony showing you one of the best view in Cornwall! He made us feel at home, leaving us fresh local butter in the fridge and delivering local milk every two days in lovely little glass milk bottles. You could really taste the Cornish milk. In the house there were already coffee, tea and shortbread to start our lovely stay. The house is fully equipped with modern and new facilities and he has everything settled if you need to go around Cornwall, maps, books and himself advising you on nice spots where to go! The house has everything a couple should need for a lovely staying in Cornwall! I highly recommend Rory! Thank you!!

  • A fantastic Airbnb space. Really well thought through layout which is very practical and clean. The space is bigger than it looks in the photos. Rory is a great host. He was easy to communicate with before we arrived and had provided some nice personal touches to the space. There are sea views from the lounge down the side of the main house and we wrapped up warm to enjoy local Rattler Cyder on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, beach and town. We visited Perranporth when it was stormy with sunny spells and still found plenty to do locally! A really lovely place to visit.

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little flat in perfect surroundings. The perfect get away. Rory was super helpful with tips and made us feel at home. We will 100% be back again. Thanks again!

  • Amazing location, only a few minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful space with everything you need for a get away. The shower is ten out of ten! Rory and Sarah both very welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

  • A very well equipped, elegantly designed comfortable modern flat. Immaculately presented with many additional features such, streaming TV (Netflix, iPlayer etc) Bluetooth speaker, an exceptional shower, high tech insulation & ventilation that keeps one cosy in winter. (we stayed in Feb 2020 during storm Dennis!) and pleasant in summer. Beautiful view from the shared balcony a short walk outside from the flat entrance door down the side of the house & up some stairs. We were sad to leave.

    David2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I can not fault Rory’s place, it’s beautiful, clean, open, and comfortable! Great value for price, and Rory was so lovely and helpful to us! Location was great too, with amazing views.

    Megan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The place was really cool and clean, and the area was much better than we expected with plenty to do. The pub tips were brilliant and we enjoyed the food. When the storm hit we had an amazing night in with plenty of entertainment. We’ll definitely be back!

With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.
  • Wonderful location, combining both quiet privacy with the convenience of a nearby beach and easy access to Falmouth and more. Very clean, suitably equipped for preparing, cooking and eating in with both adequate dining and relaxing space in the kitchen/diner/lounge. Comfy bed, roomy bathroom.....Even our fussy dog made himself comfortable.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage. Great location, walking distance to a lovely cove (with café, even in March). Other nice walks in the area. Rural but within easy reach of the amenities of Falmouth. Super clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

    Megan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely, really close to a small cove just outside of Falmouth. The host's where more than accommodating. There were plenty of toys for our daughter to play with which really helped when not on the beach. The cottage has really well sized rooms and perfect for a small family. it has great transport links and close to coastal walks too. N&K

    Neil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place was perfect for our short work trip - being just down the road from where we needed to be. It was warm, welcoming and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Sharon and hosts were not intrusive at all and left us to it which was great. We’d certainly try and book again if we are coming to the area again.

    Marc2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Perfect location. Jill has done a great job at the flat, it is cosy and very clean. I would very much stay there again. Highly recommended!!

    Beatriz2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for having us Jill and all the lovely little touches you left for us to ensure we had a fabulous new year! We loved the apartment! The shower pressure was great, and the shower took no time to warm up! This is a small apartment with a kitchen, oven and hobs, a microwave and kettle and toaster! More than enough for the 4 days whilst we were there. I loved the fact we could also recycle! We had to buy a tin opener whilst in Newquay but that was no problem! One thing I'd have appreciated was a hook on the back of the door just to hang a coat up but we just placed them over the dining chairs! In summer this wouldn't really be an issue. We would 100% return. It was a 20 ish minute walk into Newquay, lovely views of fistral beach and very quiet! Thanks so much!

    Frances2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend staying in this studio flat. The property is very close to Fistral beach for surfing and a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Newquay for exploring bars/restaurants. We would definitely stay in this apartment again.

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

    Alex2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • From arrival to departure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Amazing cream tea supplied by the host enjoyed by the log burner whilst watching the llamas!

  • Michelle's cottage provided the perfect bolt hole for myself and my wife with everything considered, characterful and of the best quality. The bed and be linen were second to none and the quality of the kitchen equipment simply made me jealous. Michelle obviously cares about her guests as much as she obviously adores the cottage, with thoughtful touches and splashes of luxury and oodles of style. The stairs to the bedroom are very steep and you do need to use the rope hand rail but we soon got used to it and the extra care needed. The bathroom agin is uber stylish and the highest quality and the outdoor area, even though the weather didn't really lend itself to making full use of it, was charming. Mithian itself is lovely small hamlet with a decent country pub less than a minutes walk and St Agnes, just 2 miles away, is full of Cornish charm with easy access to the South West Coastal Path - just exceptional walking. Overall? And exceptional place to stay and well worthy of the accolades its reviews bestow.

  • My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful few days in Cornwall staying in this beautiful cottage. I couldn't recommend it more - wonderful relaxing break!

    Daniel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time in a beautiful home and every detail was just so thought out. Really nice touches in terms of decorations and also a great use of such a small space too made our stay really comfortable. We had an awful weekend in terms of weather but the cottage was very cosy and we managed to spark up the fire and chilled out with Netflix on the smart tv which was a nice touch! Bed was super comfy and the robe and slippers again another nice touch! The host made us feel at home and was on hand at all times, making sure we had everything we needed. Garden was so pretty and quaint, would love to go back in summer when we could enjoy it! Will certainly be taking some of the ideas for design features back into my own home, and may even buy some knitting needles after being inspired by the ones in the cottage! Thank you, we had a lovely stay!

    Louise2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Cottage. Warm and cosy and so easy to spend time in. Michelle goes the extra mile with the little details. Special section for our pooch with treats and welcome furry toy was a special touch. This is one Airbnb host who goes the extra mile. The village is very picturesque and the local (Miners arms) is what you would imagine a pub should be.

  • Lovely stay in this little cottage :) the stairs are very steep just as a warning. Loved all the thoughtful touches!

  • We had the best time in this fantastic thatched cottage. The location is great, the property is beautiful and Michelle was all that we could have asked for as a host. If we get the chance, we will definitely be coming back!

  • We really enjoyed the couple of days in the area exploring local beaches with our dog Houston. Although I’m half Cornish/half Devonian I have lived away from the area for many years. As part of a 10 day road trip back to the area to see family, my wife and I wanted to get away from urban life and enjoy some ‘raw’ Cornish countryside. A very warm welcome was received by the host Angie on arrival. The location of the accommodation was great, immersed in Cornish countryside yet close enough to get to local beaches within 10 mins by car. The accommodation had lots of little ‘touches’ that catered for our every need including the very generous ‘welcome pack’ and the heavenly electric blanket. Houston our dog really enjoyed the grounds which surrounded the accommodation which were safe and secure. The pub location was perfect and much needed at the end of both days. I would highly recommend if you want to get away from it all and enjoy rural Cornish countryside in its entirety.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Angie. The cabins were impeccable and so well equipped. Angie and her husband bent over backwards to accommodate our 8 week old baby and our dog even buying them lovely gifts! The Cornish touches were fantastic and it was super cosy staying there on NYE. Now all we need to do is go back in the spring and summer to admire the view and explore the local areas in the sunshine! A fabulous spot, can’t wait to go back.

  • The most peaceful, relaxing stay. Such a great location to the local beaches (especially for surfing) and walking distance from Mithian. We really loved the added extras and personal touches to the room including local jams, bread and fudge which I love! Also so dog friendly which was amazing for our new puppy, it was great to have her running around in a safe enclosed space, she was so happy. Angie and family are lovely, thoughtful and helpful.

  • Would 100% recommend staying here. Angie and Prakesh were amazing hosts, from the treats on arrival (homemade jams, coffee, biscuits, etc!) to giving recommendations of things to do. So helpful! The chalet was nice and cosy. Such a lovely location and so peaceful with a nice view! Fire pit and BBQ to use as well which was useful. About a 5 minute drive from St Agnes beach and a nice little pub walking distance round the corner. Thanks so much again!!xx

  • Absolutely amazing getaway with gorgeous views of the country! From the moment we arrived, we had everything we could have possibly asked for and more. There were little pots of jam and other treats when we arrived, bottles of water, teas and coffees. Angie came out to greet us and gave us different recommendations of places nearby to visit. There was everything you needed for a short break and the shower room was lovely too. The place was about 10 minutes drive to the beach and not far from the local pub and places to eat - The Tap House did not disappoint! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back to visit again

  • Cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous place. A true break away from life. Angie and her husband were amazing hosts, on hand when we needed them but other than that we felt like there was no one for miles! The place has everything you need, including the all important doggy biscuits! The garden is secure for even the most determined pup. The bathroom is about 20m from the furthest cabin. It meant a lot to me that Angie noticed my mobility issues and offered to move us into the closer cabin the next day when the other guests had left so I wouldn't need to walk so far (not everyone is that perceptive of my disability and I hadn't mentioned it as I cope ok with help, but it was thoughtful that she offered). The local pub The Miners is lovely. They do a special menu for gluten free and vegan too which was brilliant. Also has a handy little shop and does cashback. All in all, beautiful little place not far from some lovely towns to explore. Will definitely return!

Set within the grounds of the original Count House for the Basset mines (as featured on Poldark). Nestled on a world heritage site. North Coast beaches just 5 miles away. Cosy cottage in a tranquil location, overlooking Carn brea and views to the coast. Ideal as a base for exploring the rugged beauty of Cornwall whilst remaining a short drive away from the local town and shops.
Little Basset is a cosy cottage which has its own fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with its own closet space, and bathroom in which there is a shower.
Little Basset is located on private grounds on the outskirts of Carnkie. Carnkie is a peaceful, friendly village in the heart of the old mining community. There is a pub a half a mile walk away and taxis are readily available, it is also a walking distance from Carn Brea castle which is a Jordanian restaurant; the castle itself can be traced back to 1379. The main thing Carnkie has to offer is the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere!

  • This is a very cute, simple little cottage in a pretty amazing area. You can walk all the way up Carn Brea from the doorstep :) Not too easy to find (it is not the Carnkie in Helston!) but Alisa was very helpful with directions and quick to respond. Very quiet and solitary - a great little escape!

  • This is a very sweet, warm and cosy nest. It provides all that is needed and it is in a charming location among ruins of the mining past of the area. The coast is at about 20-30 minutes driving and it is stunning, also featuring St Ives. We have seen otters, deer, fish jumping, squirrels and other wildlife from your balcony. There is a comfortable double bed, small kitchenette, toasty shower room, gas central heating & gas fire. Free wifi & warm welcome awaits. Nancarrow Farm is nearby.
We are set down a beautiful half mile lane and, although it feels as though you are miles from anywhere, Truro and Perranporth are only a 10 minute drive away and we are literally 3 minutes off the A30 so great for access. We can therefore offer city shopping and endless beach options within a 10 minute drive. We are a 15 minute walk from Nancarrow Farm so a perfect complement to any function there.
Local village pub serving excellent food half an hour walk or 5 minute drive away. Excellent surfing beaches (Perranporth and Newquay) a 10 minute drive away. Although tranquility awaits, we are just 3 minutes from the A30 and a 15 minute walk from Nancarrow Farm function venue.
  • Katie and her family are welcoming and the grounds are idilic, we even got a couple of visits from the very friendly family dog! The boathouse was much bigger than I expected and has a sizeable balcony area with lovely view of the water and surrounding area. The property was plenty warm thanks to central heating and a gas fire. Running water and shower are also very hot. The stream running alongside was calming and we made use of the firepit which Katie kindly provided the wood for. She also let us stay on an extra night as my flight was cancelled. Many Thanks

  • Cosy little getaway- Lovely having a morning cup of tea and watching the moorhens on the pond! Thanks

  • This is such a hidden gem and the pictures do not do it justice! The space is so cosy and beautiful. Me and my spaniel had the best time in Perranporth beach close by and cosy evenings with Netflix on my laptop and watching the birds on the lake in the morning. The veranda at the front of the boy house has a big reclining chair that you can doze away in or read and having the water just there is so wonderful and with a tiny stream running alongside from the back of the house. I can not recommend this place enough and it feels really private. Katie was so warm, relaxed and welcoming and her sweet friendly dog was a joy to meet also ! I will definitely be back in Spring !

  • Amazing space and surrounding's. The boathouse has everything you need. It's warm, relaxing and beautiful. 5***** perfect little getaway. Will definitely recommend and be back later in the year

  • We had a lovely stay in the Boathouse. We didn’t want to leave after 4 nights. Clean, cosy place with a fantastic view. At night you here all kinds of sounds directly from nature. What a delight! Would love to come back.

  • Lovely little room with views onto the lake. It’s next to the main house but feels cosy and private. We were greeted and shown to the room and comms were great. Great location for local walks.

  • A lovely little lodge by an idyllic lake with loads of wildlife to spot. A comfortable clean space, only 10 minutes from the centre of Truro. We felt a million miles from anywhere which was wonderful, but it’s so easy to get to main roads. Katie was a wonderful host and gave helpful tips on places to visit. Thanks for a great stay, we will definitely come back and recommend to others!

Our treasured home, a listed thatched cottage hidden in a beautiful, tranquil, tucked away location in the ancient village of Mithian near St Agnes and Perranporth. Set on the North coast, it is the perfect spot for surfers/walkers (so many great surfing beaches to choose from: Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, Perranporth and Fistral to name but a few). The stunning coastline latterly of Poldark fame awaits your discovery. For shops, culture, cafes and nightlife head to Truro, Cornwall's capital city.
A beautiful, detatched thatched Grade II Listed 18th Century cottage with two upstairs boutique styled bedrooms and ground floor open planned living space. The bathroom and kitchen are also situated on the ground floor. Externally, there is a patio table, chairs and deckchairs and a shed with rockpooling / beach items. The garden is brick paved and surrounds the property with established honeysuckle, hydrangea, rose and camelia hedgerows, offering privacy and an abundance of birdsong. Perfect cosy romantic get-away snuggled up by the fire under the gorgeous thatched roof. There is a fantastic 16th Century pub/restaurant two minutes' walk from the cottage and The Rose and Vale Hotel is just five minutes' walk from the cottage so you can eat out every night with no worries about driving home!
St Agnes parish is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with old mine workings and forms a part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage site. There are several beaches nearby with excellent surf to be had; including Porthtowan, Chapel Porth and Perranporth. Explore further down the north coast to Hayle to surf, walk or rockpool at Gwithian and Godrevy. Beautiful St Ives is a lovely day trip we would recommend - white sand and stunning views whatever the weather! The Eden Project with its famous biomes is approx. 30 minute drive from the cottage, and well worth a visit. Explore stunning Porthcurno beach and the Minack Theatre, a unique outdoor theatre, during your stay.
  • A beautiful cottage just across the road from a very good quality dining pub. Jeanette adds lots of thoughtful additions that give the cottage a very welcoming feel.

  • Beautiful, clean and quiet perfect for a break away. Lovely personal touches as well. We all slept amazingly and awoke to bird song in the morning. The pub opposite was lovely as was having dinner in. We will be back! I'd also recommend driving to Godrevy point for a walk as there are seals :)

    Sarah2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tuckaway Thatch is a very cute and cosy character cottage in a lovely village location. Jeanette is very communicative and made a huge effort with extra touches (nice things to eat!) on arrival. Something to note is the bathroom is on the ground floor at the rear of the property - which is typical of older cottages - but may not be so suitable for people who need a lot of bathroom access! Otherwise if you like quaint, cosy, quiet places this cottage is perfect!

    Hayley2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • You can't go wrong with this lovely cottage. Small but bijoux. Lovely interieur and very well equipped. Warm welcome from the hostess. Nice and quiet location with a great pub on the doorstep. Dog friendly. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Great location too within easy distance of the coast. C and M Taylor

  • We had a wonderful stay at Tuckaway Thatch. Would highly recommend and would definitely love to come stay again. St Agnes was great to have nearby (St Agnes Bakery had some truly delicious pasties!) and we really enjoyed exploring the coastline. Jeanette welcomed us with a lovely array of goodies for when we arrived and we were really touched by her thoughtfulness.

  • We had a great stay at the tuckaway thatch! It was very cosy with excellent heating ( especially in January). Lots of thoughtful touches including cream tea and toiletries. Excellent WiFi. Also great local tips we used to explore ! Thanks and would definitely stay again. 👍

  • Really lovely little cottage full of character and very easy to feel at home. We arrived much later than we expected so hadn’t had time to pick up our supermarket essentials yet but needn’t have worried as Jeanette had left loads of lovely treats for us. Our 7 year old loved her room and all the festive decorations, and our dog was very relaxed. There was room for her bed both in the kitchen and in the living area so she could hang out wherever I was. The village was lovely and quiet and the pub across the road were really friendly and had great food options for carnivores and vegans alike. They were also dog friendly.

    Beth2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tuckaway Thatch is a gem - a lovely, cosy cottage in quiet and scenic Mithian village - close to St Agnes and beaches, with the welcoming Miner’s Arms pub just steps across the street. We had a wonderful winter stay. The cottage is well appointed with all that you need - including TV and board games - and Jeanette left an array of special holiday touches for us (festive decor, candies for the kids, a lovely bottle of wine for the parents and local biscuits, cake and clotted cream for the whole family). It was the perfect spot for an excellent holiday getaway!

Portreath, situated on the North Cornwall coast, about 5 miles north of Redruth, was originally a small fishing village. Today it's a beautiful retreat with a narrow harbour, secluded sandy beaches and a stream running to the sea on one side. It is ideal for swimming, surfing and windsailing in watched by the local Surf and Life Saving Club. Portreath offers the pleasures of sea and countryside with beautiful views, spectacular cliffs and walking trails. Illogan Woods is adjacent to Portreath with lovely streams and a circular walk leading to the 14th century church tower of Illogan. There is also Tehidy Country Park just outside of Portreath with its adjoining golf-course. It is a beautiful country park comprised of 250 acres of woodland, lakes, bridleways, cycling and nature trails. There are several ponds and a lake with swans and various kinds of waterfowl.Occupying a dramatic valley location with one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast, Porthtowan has been drawing visitors for years to take advantage of its natural sun trap. A superb location for a holiday to Cornwall with a fine beach and close to good main roads means that you can easily explore the surrounding area on days that are not conducive to sitting on the beach.Porthtowan has one of Cornwall's finest surfing waves. Producing good waves at all states of the tide, the wave is particularly good in an easterly or south easterly when it really pumps with some lovely hollow barrels. It is not for the faint hearted and beginners should be careful. An excellent surf school operates from the beach. At low tide the beach stretches down to St Agnes Head and Chapel Porth Beach where you will find a lovely National Trust Cafe full of warming hot chocolate and fabulous views. From Porthtowan you are ideally located to reach the many beaches on the North Coast famous for attracting keen surfers and beginners alike.
  • What a beautiful place, the guys had obviously thought long and hard as we had everything we needed for a fun packed 4 days, the hot tub was the icing on the cake (cleanest one we have had use of).

  • We had a great time at ‘Snapper’ and it exceeded our expectations in every way. When we arrived the directions to the lodge were easy to follow and we were in the hot tub within a few minutes (great after the long drive). Accommodation was great. Spacious living / dining area and clean, well decorated bedrooms. Never been to Cornwall before and we all loved it. Lots to see and do, with the lodge a great base to return to each night for a glass of wine and to enjoy the fantastic view (sometimes from the hot tub). Would recommend highly and likely that we will return again next year. We loved it!

    Mike2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Bungalow was spacious and well equipped. Location ideal - peaceful, safe for toddlers and only a 5 minute drive to Portreath with other popular destinations within easy reach. Jacuzzi was loved by all – especially the children. Easy check-in/out and good communications with host. Recommended and would happily stay here again if returning to the area.

Unique quirky large double bedroom with en-suite. Own entrance. Although attached to our house it's a self contained space. Telly with DVD player, wifi, tea, coffee and fridge. Fantastic space , right in the heart of the village. 3 mins walk to 2 pubs, restaurants, local shops and fantastic coffee house. Under a mile walk to our beautiful cove although there are another 2 beaches a cliff walk away. St .Agnes is a truly spectacular place to just be !
    Perfect retreat for couples .
The spacious room is attached to my house , although we are mindful of guests you may hear our chatter occasionally ! We are situated on a residential road . This runs parallel to the main road in the village so everything is close . The local primary school is just behind us which means the roads can be a little busy at drop off and pick up time around 9am and 3pm, but outside this time it's very quiet.
  • Highly recommend

  • It's a lovely, well furnished space which is perfect for a weekend away. Great location close to the local shops of St Agnes and not too far from the beach. Theresa was very quick to respond to messages before we arrived and was also really helpful once we were there.

  • Fantastic place to stay! Beautiful little hideaway in the perfect location, it’s practically a 5 min walk away from everywhere! Would recommend taking a walk to the cove, and eating at Cafe Q! Just make sure you check what’s open when, we didn’t realise so much would be closed out of season. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s such a lovely room. Thank you for a fantastic stay x

  • Second time here, great location, lovely cosy room, comfy bed, coffee, tea and milk provided which was a very thoughtful touch. Short weekend but much needed break.

    Louise2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cosy, comfy little home-from-home, and we really loved the decor! So good to see that other people are brave enough to use dark, strong colours. Really funky and lovely. It was great being able to park the car right next to the door - so easy for unloading the car. We easily found the short-cut route to the little man street, but it's not necessarily obvious. Carry on down the hill, and look for a pathway cut-through veering right that's a little dark, but takes you to the well-stocked convenience store, pleasant pub, and other shops. We had a short stay but enjoyed it so much. Happy to recommend and give it five stars. :-)

    David2019-11-22T00:00:00Z

Located on a private lane with private parking and access through a tiered garden, The Pound is a two bedroom (connected rooms) L-shaped flat. The front door leads into the lounge with bedrooms to the right. From the left a step takes you into the kitchen with the bathroom on the left.
‘The Pound’ is a quirky two bedroom (connecting rooms) log cabin flat. It also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom and is accessed via a zig zag path leading up from a designated parking area. When we bought the house 6 years ago, The Pound was a dog grooming parlour, hence the name, which was in a very bad state. We renovated it for two of our sons to live in and a few years on, and both sons having moved out, it is now surplus to our requirements, so have decided to rent it out for you to stay in to enjoy the Cornish experience. We have tried to think of everything you would need during your stay to make it a home from home holiday. At the front of the property there is a storage box which houses recycling bags and where your bagged rubbish can be stored for collection on a Thursday evening. As we are close to the A30, which can be seen from the front of the property, there is traffic noise outside but not within the accommodation. There is a table and 4 chairs on the patio at the front of the property but as the property is surrounded by large trees there is only direct sunlight in the morning. To the left side of The Pound there is a small gate which gives access to our garden which you are more than welcome to use on sunnier days and meet our friendly Labrador, Jago. Located between Illogan, Portreath and Redruth there is easy access by road to each. Jenn's Diner is a family-run American style diner a one minute walk away. The Track is a five acre cycle facility based near Portreath and is less than 1 mile away. The Track is suitable for ALL types of mountain bikes, E-Bikes, BMX bikes and balance bikes and all ages and abilities. Kernow Hydro pool is also situated on this site. The Cornish mining town of Redruth town is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to all surrounding towns and villages via the public bus and train system. Redruth is home to a variety of exceptional pasty shops, individual shops, cafes, cinema/theatre and boasts the home of the famous William Murdoch, the first man to invent domestic gaslighting. His house can be visited and his invention is celebrated with Murdoch Day every year during mid June with an exciting programme of events including children’s dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old time fair exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events around the town. Redruth also hosts an annual Pasty & Mining Festival each September. The event is focussed around the town centre. The Friday is Mining Day, the Saturday is Pasty Day and the Sunday is Memorial & Fun Day. Activities on Pasty Day include cookery demonstrations and ‘make your own pasty’. Portreath is the closest beach, being only 3 miles away. With Porthtowan, Gwithian, Hayle, St Ives, St Agnes and Perranporth all a stones’ through away on the north Cornish coast. Each beach is unique boasting beautiful golden sand, cliffs and rocks with miles of coastal paths ready to be discovered with The Pound being a great location for you to relax after any expedition, however being close to the A30 there is traffic noise in the garden, but not inside the accommodation. Overlooking both Camborne and Redruth and reaching up to 738 feet above sea level is Carn Brea which is 1.8 miles away. The Carn can be seen from most high ground in Cornwall and the monument on top easily picked out. Conversely the view from the top of the Carn takes in both coasts and a good deal of the Camborne/Redruth conurbation. What is not apparent from any distance is the size of the monument, with it being a 90 foot high granite obelisk. The huge hexagonal column was erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Bassett, Lord de Dunstaville. The Bassetts where the most important mining family in the area and had lived in Tehidy for over 700 years (Tehidy is now the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now managed as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area. Francis Bassett was however the first to be elevated to the nobility due to his efforts to raise an army of miners to defend the port of Plymouth from the combined Spanish and French fleets. Another legacy of the Bassett family is Carn Brea Castle. It is suggested that it started out as an Elizabethan hunting lodge, was a Victorian folly and is now a restaurant. Carn Brea also has associations with the legendary giants of Cornwall. It is said to be the home of the giant Bolster who when standing could put his other foot on top of St Agnes Beacon over 10 miles away! Cornwall's capital city Truro is 11 miles away. Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the duchy of Cornwall. Designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson, it is one of only three cathedrals in the UK which has three spires. Completed in 1910 it is a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture. A must-see place to visit in Cornwall with free entry. The Bissoe Cycle Path is a coast to coast trail that links Portreath harbour 11 miles across the county to the port of Devoran on the South coast. In the 1800s, this trail was used as a mineral tramway for the copper mines around Redruth. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit and is 33 miles away. The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean where they hold musicals and operas every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is 27 miles away. St Michaels Mount is 17 miles away. St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. St Ives is classed as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and listed as one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman’s cottages and only 17 miles away.

  • Katie’s place is clean and spacious. There are lots of extra touches like blankets and additional heaters for cold days and she put out some cake and fresh flowers for our arrival which was lovely! We enjoyed being walking distance from Holywell Bay and would highly recommend a trip to Healey’s Cider Farm which is a short drive away. Would definitely recommend!

  • It was our second time we have stayed at The Pottery. This time it was with a new host, Katie. She is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The communication was fast. Katie lives in the house in front of The Pottery so she was on hand if/when we needed her. The location is superb, a quiet hamlet next to costal paths and beautiful beaches, lovely walks. But to not too far to drive to Perranporth or Newquay. There is a shop, a bakery, a pub and a fish & chip shop nearby. When the weather is warm there is the opportunity to buy freshly grown veg and eggs from houses nearby. The Pottery is compact but has everything that is needed to have a relaxing and cosy stay. The kitchen is well equipped. There are books, dvds and board games to play. Two tv's. There isn't any wifi but 4g works no problem and making calls on a mobile is possible with a good reception. The shower room is clean and modern. The beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of space to put clothing and belongings. The out door space is great to sit in the sun. I would highly recommend a stay here. It is good value and in a beautiful part of Cornwall. We really enjoyed our stay x

  • Adore this lovely cottage and its beautiful location with beautiful walks across some of national trust best countryside. Fantastic welcome to a cottage with everything I could want. It could have been a summers day on Holywell Beach. The cottage was snug and warm during the winter chilly evenings. The cottage has been tastefully decorated since my last stay and was spotlessly clean. Can’t wait for my next visit.

    Liz2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a lovely place to stay. Katie and her partner made us feel so welcome and gave us lots of good tips about things to do nearby. It was a gorgeous short walk to Hollywell the most beautiful beach and very close to the village with such a sweet bakery and great pub. The BNB itself was very clean and the had a well equipped kitchen as well as a great BBQ area. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come again!

Our mobile home is a 2018 model and is very nicely decorated. There is ample room for a family of four, with two loos and a shower. There is a fridge/freezer and gas cooker. The home is centrally heated and is double glazed. It is situated in our yard in a sun trap. It is a 10 minute drive to the beaches and also 10 minutes to the centre of Truro, which is a lovely city, lots of shops, cafes and quaint streets. An ideal getaway.
We are very central, living in between the north and south coasts, there are several National Trust properties nearby as well Truro has excellent restaurants and a cinema. The Eden Project is not too far either.
  • Would really recommend this home for comfort and locality

    Simon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Its a lovely static caravan, bags of space, cosy and sparkling clean. It`s in a private peaceful spot with lots of space for parking. It`s only a few minutes drive to Truro and ten minutes from the beach. Sally and John are lovely and very helpful and there is a super friendly Jack Russel and a Chicken for company.

    Steffan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home with cosy atmosphere inside! More spacious than it appears outside and has everything you need and more! Hosts were friendly and the little touches such as milk in the fridge and shortbread cookies made all the difference! Will definitely recommend to everybody!

    Victoria2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week at Sally's place with our two small children. The accommodation is surprisingly spacious and extremely well equipped and comfortable. We arrived to cake, biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge and never even unpacked our bag of kitchen essentials. Location is excellent for travelling within Cornwall and Sally provided lots of useful local information. We would return.

Basic, clean, spacious, self-contained, practical single level accommodation just outside a small village with countryside views. Private garden space and off-road parking. Central location with quick access to surfing beaches and the rest of Cornwall.
It is very private with neighbouring farm fields and a woodland over the road. There is only one neighbouring house which means it is quiet.
  • Perfect location if you’re here for a wedding/event at nancarrow, a ten minute drive from lovely sandy beaches too. Unbeatable value for money, would definitely recommend! Thanks again!

There is an additional lower decked area which houses a high specification jacuzzi for sole use of the Chy Mena guests to relax and unwind.
Chy Mena is in a great location, just minutes from pubs, bars and restaurants. For breakfast we recommend The Greenroom, which is located in Peterville just a couple of minutes walk away or Genki, just a few minutes walk down the hill. The Taphouse, Bear Bar are also located in Peterville which are great for lunch, and there's also a chinese restaurant and takeaway. If you head down the hill towards the beach, which is a 10 minute walk, we recommend the Driftwood Stars as nice traditional pub or Schooners overlooking the beach. • Simon was the perfect host and our stay was so great. Weather wasnt the best but at least we had the hot tub to keep us warm 😂 Can't fault anything😁

    Ethan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time staying here, had everything you need and Simon is always at the end of the phone for any questions or queries :)

    Leah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chy Mena, where do we begin? Perfect was the first thing that came to mind on our arrival. It was spotlessly clean, modern, stylish yet cosy. The hot tub was really just the cherry on top! Even storm Dennis the Mennis couldn't have ruined our stay. Simon was a star! He responded so quickly, provided so much information and quite honestly, we couldn't find any further questions to ask. Everything you'd need to know is provided to you ahead of time. The nearby restaurant serves beautiful food and the general area is of pure beauty. Be prepared to drive up some steep hills though! :D All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you again!

    Peter2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Small house well located between shops and the beach, the jacuzzi is a real highlight !! Very nice place to stay.

    Julie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This property is well designed and has all your basic needs, plus a bit more! It is open plan with all modern conveniences, and was cosy and warm, even though we stayed in December. It is situated on a wooded hillside in a quiet, secluded spot but it has all the convenience of local shops and fabulous pubs that are just a few minutes walk away. The rocky cove of St Agnes is gorgeous with access to the South West Coast path running across the cliffs. We fully recommend Simon's place.

The Linhay is a recent conversion of a charming stone farm building situated in a secluded and peaceful position, in beautiful rolling countryside north of Truro. The luxurious accommodation incorporates many traditional features of the original barn, but uses cutting edge energy saving technology to minimise its environmental impact. A quite superb location close to the bustling cathedral city of Truro, yet also within a 15 minute drive of the spectacular coastline around Porthtowan & St Agnes. Dog friendly.
Situated 4 miles north of Truro, yet only 7 miles from the golden sands of Perranporth, the sleepy hamlet of Tregavethen is an enchanting rural retreat where you can find true peace and quiet, broken only by the sounds of local wildlife and the odd passing tractor. The Linhay was a traditional agricultural building that has been sympathetically refurbished into a quite superb two bedroom holiday home by its very caring owners, who live a short distance away. The accommodation benefits from a sizeable open plan kitchen / living space with dining table and sofas, and French windows opening onto a secluded patio area. There are two large en-suite bedrooms, one of which also has French windows to the garden so is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee. The Linhay is a particularly environmentally friendly place to stay with cutting edge energy saving technology including solar panels, an air source heat pump, LED or energy saving light fittings wherever possible, and a rain water harvesting and recycling system. There is also a cosy wood burning stove to keep things really warm on cooler evenings. One of our luxury, dog friendly holiday cottages in Cornwall. Accommodation Ground Floor Only: The open plan living room is bright and airy with a high ceiling and exposed beams, and incorporates a kitchen, dining area and living area with 2 large sofas. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and an en-suite bathroom with an over-bath shower. There is a further twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and French windows opening onto a secluded garden. Both bedrooms are fitted with attractive, locally made pine furniture. Exterior: The private garden is on two levels, with both grassed and patio areas with unspoilt rural views, external furniture and barbeque facilities. Facilities & Services There is underfloor heating throughout, heated towel rails in both bathrooms and a wood burning stove (with an initial supply of wood provided - extra complimentary logs available on request in winter). The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. In the living area there is a flatscreen digital TV and a DVD player. WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron and ironing board. A highchair and travel cot are provided (please bring bedding for travel cot). Accessibility information: There are no internal steps in the cottage, and small raised thresholds at the front and patio doors. The lower garden and patio are at the same level as the accommodation, and can be accessed from both inside the cottage and from the flat grassed track running beside the cottage. The upper garden has wide, shallow steps (approximately 4 inches high) to it. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen (apart from travel cot bedding) and towels are all included. Guests are to provide their own beach towels. There is off road parking for up to 2 vehicles. Up to 2 well behaved dogs will be permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog/per week (please bring towels for dogs and do not allow them on furniture). Regrettably no smoking is allowed. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
For those wishing to sample the enormous strength of the Atlantic Ocean will do well to bring their surf boards to the Atlantic Coast. From Chapel Porth above Porthtowan, passing Perranporth, along to Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay at Newquay, up to Trevose Head and Polzeath past Padstow you will find all the best surfing beaches in the South West, of not only Cornwall but also England. The cliffs surrounding these beaches are nothing short of dramatic. In contrast to the gently rolling shores of the south coast, the north have dark mysterious drops where land has been eaten by the atlantic ocean, hence why the waves are far better here. Inland you will find Wheal Coates Mine, now looked after by the National Trust, part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. St Agnes is part of only 12 sites in Cornwall awarded Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Newquay is not only famous for Fistral Beach, but Newquay Airport connects the county to places such as the Isles of Scilly, Edinburgh and Alicante. The Saints Way Trail is a 30 mile path from Padstow on the Atlantic Coast to Fowey on the South Coast. Padstow is more commonly known as Rick Stein country following the success of his numerous businesses in the town. Lucky really that the National Lobster Hatchery is just a stones throw away. Wadebridge, once a Market Town is now more widely known as being part of The Camel Trail, that takes the cyclist out to Padstow from the depths of Bodmin Moor. Occupying a dramatic valley location with one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast, Porthtowan has been drawing visitors for years to take advantage of its natural sun trap. A superb location for a holiday to Cornwall with a fine beach and close to good main roads means that you can easily explore the surrounding area on days that are not conducive to sitting on the beach. Porthtowan has one of Cornwall's finest surfing waves. The city of Truro is 4 miles away and has a wide selection of good shopping including a Tescos, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer and many other high street outlets. There is also a cinema and a great selection of restaurants, pubs & cafes. The resort of Newquay is about 12 miles to the north with its spectacular surf beaches at Fistral & Watergate Bay. Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" restaurant is located here. Padstow, with its fine selection of restaurants influenced by Rick Stein is just over 20 miles. Harbourside towns & villages such as Fowey, Falmouth & St Mawes are all within easy reach. For those flying to Cornwall, the airport is within easy reach. The Cathedral City of Truro is in the heart of Cornwall and offers a wealth of facilities for the visitor. Dominated by the stunning cathedral, it is one of the south west's most attractive cities. Lemon Quay plays host to many events throughout the year including the Cornwall Food & Drink Festival in the Autumn and the famous Truro Fatstock Show just before Christmas. Regular farmers markets occur every Wednesdays & Saturday and there are also arts & craft markets on Saturdays. There is a wonderful range of shopping for the visitor including all the regular high street stores, but Truro also has a wide range of more specialist stores. It really is worth a wander through the back streets and alleys to find some fabulous little boutiques. Truro has a superb range of restaurants from Bustopher Jones & Mannings on Lemon Street to the always popular Pizza Express. There are lively bars, pubs & nightclubs including the superb Old Ale House, a busy Wetherspoons and the infamous L2 if you are so inclined! The Hall for Cornwall hosts everything from Shakespeare to rock concerts and the cinema on Lemon Street has all the latest releases.
  • This is a great place to stay, very well equipped, spotlessly clean. We had a warm welcome from our hosts. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. An excellent base for exploring Cornwall, be prepared for narrow lanes!

  • Beautiful well cared for cottage. We stayed with our two dogs. The gardens are enclosed so perfect for us. Quiet location but also close enough to towns and beaches by car. Would definitely recommend.

  • Lovely location, very peaceful. The cottage is well-equipped with almost everything you could need during your stay. It was easy to prep our own meals as the kitchen was well equipped and there is even a washing machine and a dryer. Had a wonderful time and would book again.

  • Ground level, cozy, practical cottage. A converted agricultural building, in the middle of the countryside. From the window you can sometimes see horses, cows, sheep. Each of the 2 bedrooms has its own bathroom with toilet, once a bath, once a shower. The living room is comfortably furnished with 2 sofas and TV, dining table with armchairs and spacious, fully and richly equipped kitchen. Free Wi-Fi works throughout the house. In a folder you will find all important information on how everything works in the house. On arrival we were greeted with a fresh bunch of flowers, milk for the first breakfast, Cornish biscuits, even coffee, tea, sugar and salt were there! We were 3 adults, including an old lady, the ground floor cottage was ideal. But there is also a baby high chair and unbreakable crockery for babies. There is a small patio in front of the living room, with barbecue, which we did not use. A few steps lead to the second part of the garden that surrounds the house. Parking is possible in front of the house. As continental Europeans, one soon realizes that many roads in Cornwall are very narrow, including part of the road to Linhay. We liked it very much there!

  • A great retreat in the middle of nowhere! Very peaceful, secluded, dog friendly and well equipped. Fresh flowers on our arrival and a pint of milk in the fridge. The only thing that bothered us upon arrival was the noise of the heating system. After communicating it to the owner, she immediately proposed a great solution and fixed it. The setup in very dog friendly, so is the garden. We’ve seen pheasants every morning walking past our living room. Really cool.

  • Great location with fantastic views over the countryside. Quiet and private. Central to both the south and north of Cornwall.

  • Great stay in a stylish room in St Agnes. Our hosts were able to accommodate us at very short notice and were quick to respond. The room (a former garage but fitted out brilliantly) was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our night's sleep. Just a short walk from the local pubs and completes a good loop of them around the town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other travellers in the area. Thanks.

  • A lovely, cute little place to stay, and only a short walk away from St Agnes shops and the beach. Super clean and wonderfully decorated. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a lovely stay in Lizzie's conversion. It was simple clean and homely. The decor was perfect for the coastal location. As for location... it was ideal. Just a short walk into town, to the beach and to the coastal walks. We stayed out of season and during storm Ciara but we still found plenty to do nearby and the locals were very welcoming.

  • This was a trip for the parents, they came back stating the place was lovely and in a great location!

  • A beautiful cornish cottage that is cosy, warm and in a lovely quiet village setting. Tara is a warm happy to help kind of lady who makes you feel very welcome im her home. We arrived quite late (after 22:00) but it was not an issue for her at all. To top it off she has the softest, fluffiest cat I have ever met and I fell in love (I am a dog person), it was hard not to take him with us when we left
