Places to stay in Monroe

Places to stay in Monroe
Bright, off-grid, cozy cabin with beautiful sunsets and majestic local and long distance views of Vermont's Green Mountains! Well-furnished, clean and immaculate, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Sources of energy include solar (electricity), propane (indoor gas stove, refrigerator and gas grill) & wood energy (indoor wood-burning stove). An outhouse is 50' away and it's clean and bright. An indoor commode is available for use at night. Hiking, wildlife, ATV's, photography.
This cozy cabin with knotty pine walls & ceiling along with picture windows and cathedral ceiling make this special place so rustic and charming. Laced with comfortable & casual furnishings and collections of nature items from the forest puts you more in touch with this lovely mountain setting. Kicking back and relaxing on the farmer's porch brings immediate rest from the business of your world at home. Taking in the incredible westerly view and watching sunsets from the cabin's porch will be highlights of your special escape vacation. Staying in an off-the-grid cabin is great enough but having a propane stove, water at the sink, a solar-powered shower and even a gas grill make the stay a bit more comfortable.
On your way to the cabin you'll be traveling through rural countryside, passing by dairy farms and country homes. This is a quiet little town with plenty of farming and agriculture as well as having some nice neighborhoods with more modern homes. On the mountain, there's only one other "occasional-use" home and plenty of private acreage. You're pretty much alone up there and there's plenty of trees and open land on the property.
  • Sue and Jeff always make sure our time is amazing! The cabin is out of this world and you won’t experience anything else quite like it. So homey and they have everything you’ll need for a stay that you’ll never forget!

  • Loved every minute of this escape! Such a cozy spot and the challenge to get there makes it that much sweeter. If you’re looking to unplug and relax, this is the spot. We didn’t see a soul (besides our local wild turkey and deer friends) for 4 blissful days! Thank you again :)

    Heather2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely worth checking out in the winter time, take a snowmobile and sleds for a good time :)

    Ibraheem2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My second time doings a couples getaway at the cabin in the winter and it was just as great the second time. We had some good snowfall so the surrounding snow-covered trees really made for a nice aesthetic. Recommend for anyone looking for some isolation and adventure! Views are beautiful

    Andrew2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Jeff’s place was AMAZING. It was exactly what we needed and wanted. We are not people who have a lot of experience “living off the grid” so it was awesome to experience that! They helped us a lot, were always willing to do what they could, and answered very quickly when we needed to contact them. Would DEFINITELY recommend their cabin!

    Kaitlyn2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. The views are outstanding it’s like out of a painting, I just can’t believe how amazing it was. We want to go back again.

  • Wonderful getaway, beautiful views, and exceptional hospitality! Highly recommend

    Adam2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a cabin! We drove up with a 4WD truck and were able to park next to the cabin to unload our gear. The road in front of the cabin is not plowed by the town so be thoughtful with your vehicle choice in the winter. You can see a beautiful landscape from just outside the cabin door. Once inside, we found everything we could need...Beds, couches, tables, sink, range, and a very capable wood stove. The front porch is covered and allows you to look out on the area while sipping your morning coffee. We had some slushy weather so Susan and her crew were kind enough to park my car on their property so I wouldn’t need to drive down treacherous conditions. We picked up the car Monday morning thanks to a ride from Jeff, and we were on our way home. Highlights from the weekend include board games on the table, venison stew cooked on the wood stove, and gorgeous view from the outhouse.

  • That the owners were very welcoming, the place was immaculate and that the view was amazing, Very peaceful and the view of the river was breathtaking with the snow and ice on it . Definitely coming back in the summer time.

  • Very nice, and relaxing. Beautiful view of the river and surrounding hills. Away from the hustle and bustle. A great place to relax and recharge.

    Doug2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Of all the AirB&Bs and B&Bs where I have stayed, I think this may be my favorite: clean, spacious, and in such a beautiful and tranquil setting. I was so busy with several planned day trips in the region, my only disappointment is that I did not spend more time at this wonderful apartment on the Connecticut River. And as for amenities, this place has everything— from fully out-fitted kitchen, games, fire pit and DVDs, to binoculars, kayak, canoe, and even fine china in case you feel like fixing a nicer meal. “If it ain’t here, you probably don’t need it!” 😊

    John2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • a nice quiet spot right before you cross into Vermont. There are canoes and it has a wonderful view of the mountains.

    Daniel2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great accomodations overlooking a beautiful river. Would have loved to take advantage of the fire pit and BBQ but was only staying for a short time. Lots of small thoughtful touches make this place feel like home.

  • Consistently awesome! Corbie's places are the best.

    James2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • My first Airbnb experience and it was more than I could hope for! Corbie was supper considerate and understanding and I felt so comfortable and cozy the whole weekend. The place was spotless and the view was impeccable. Me and my girlfriend will definitely be back in the summer to take advantage of the lake access!

This large tipi (teepee) is comfortably furnished and has an indoor fire pit for an open, crackling fire. You are unlikely to encounter any other humans while exploring the surrounding woods and land but be prepared to meet deer, turkey, partridge, and even moose!
Enjoy a unique experience and stay overnight in a tipi. This is not a tipi campground where you have other parties all around you either intruding on your peace and quiet or forcing you to stay quiet yourselves. This is a single tipi in a private wooded setting of 31 acres allowing you to get connected to nature, enjoy the serene setting, and have fun.
The tipi is located near Littleton, New Hampshire. If you wish to explore farther afield than the tipi's private setting, the White Mountains of New Hampshire are nearby as are many hiking and walking opportunities both locally as well as in Vermont. Other fun activities in the area include shopping, checking out waterfalls and covered bridges, getting lost in a corn maze, or swimming or paddling in the ponds and lakes.
  • Great location and view!

    Matt2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and surrounding nature make this spot one of a kind. The teepee was so fun! Temperatures dropped into the mid thirties and we stayed warm with just our sleeping bags and a nice fire. We definitely recommend staying here if you want to escape from it all! Hints: set a navigation course before hand as we had little to no service within the surrounding area. We stopped at the food co-op in Littleton for locally sourced food and cider to enjoy in the teepee. We had sleeping bags rated for 30 degrees and were totally comfortable the entire time. The second night we opted to use our pump up air mattress on top of the sleeping platform and it made all the difference for a nights rest.

    Jon2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Quick responses, very close to great hiking and climbing in the Whites. Highly recommend.

    Jeremy2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The best spot!

    Eduardo2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was a truly special place to experience nature. The views were stunning and the wild blueberries we found along the trail a delight. The guidebook Sharon provided was super helpful and detailed. We learned tips for staying there and realized how extensive the trails were in the area. Wish we could have explored more! One of our favorite parts was making a fire inside the tipi and watching it glow in the darkness. We felt in our own little world as frogs called to each other outside, and we slowly fell asleep.

    William2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • So, so peaceful and beautiful. Every day I thought about sleeping in but was extremely glad I chose to go see the sunrise - it is not to be missed!

    Danielle2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, myself and our 2 young children enjoyed a unique stay at the tipi! Great local hikes and close to Littleton for major services. We enjoyed relaxing in the chairs with the terrific mountain views. Thanks!

    Amie2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's tipi was incredible! My wife and I escaped for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had a great time just being in nature while enjoying each other's company. The property is beautiful and Sharon's local tips were a great touch. There was plenty of firewood and we had no issues being comfortable and warm! Thank you!

  • I stay often at Melissa's place when I'm in the Northeast Kingdom for outdoor activities. Her place is cozy and Melissa is an all star host. Definitely recommended!

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place was perfect for our little hiking holiday in the Whites! The room was comfy and warm and we had everything we needed. We arrived late after bad traffic on the way up and Melissa was very accommodating with helping us check in anyway. Also, their dogs and kitties are super cute! Would recommend :)

    Lara Catherine2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot as always!

    Joyce2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed at Melissa’s place several times (work related) ans it’s always a pleasure. Do be aware that in the winter it is necessary to park your car up a hill away from the house. If you are mobility limited, this could be an issue.

    Kel2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Bob's place is cozy and quintessentially Vermont. They are both very friendly and laidback. Great proximity to Saint J, value, and communication. The sweet pets are a bonus as well! Will be staying here again- highly recommend!

    Joyce2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Bob were great hosts. We were looking for an affordable place to sleep and shower before hiking and their home was perfect. Despite no heat upstairs we stayed perfectly warm with a space heater and electric blanket. We loved their two dogs and cats. Melissa and Bob were kind and welcoming. They offered us coffee and fruit in the morning.

The 'Airbus' is a vintage 1987 Volkswagen Syncro Vanagon. The Vanagon is set up on a platform in the trees, with a beautiful view of Mount Washington! It has a private bathroom with hot shower, sink and compost toilet. The van has a comfty bed , a mini fridge and small table. There is also a small heater for cooler nights. Outside table with chairs under an umbrella as well.
Our place is in the White Mountain region, with beautiful views of the Presidential range. Many hiking trails are within 15 minutes. Also we are within 10 minutes of several breweries, restaurants and pubs in Littleton and Bethlehem, NH.
  • Dan's place is right out of a movie, with such a wonderful setup, a great experience, and is very comfortable. Dan is friendly and accomodating. His property is like a museum. Highly recommend.

    Linda-Anne2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel was an incredible host for the entire trip. The Airbus is also a wonderful experience, not in the least bit uncomfortable and honestly all the amenities that you need. It’s a great escape and I highly recommend to check this out if you are planning to spend some time in the white mountains.

    Thomas2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing treehouse. Definitely going to come back there again!

    Oleg2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • WOW. I’m absolutely amazed by Daniels Treehouses. He really put in so much effort and detail and thought into his places. By far our favorite place we stayed on our New England Road trip. It’s glamping at its finest. And surprisingly very warm! The view of the mountains was unreal in the morning. If you’re adventurous and love the camping in the wilderness feel... this is perfect for you.

    Crystal2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, one of the jazziest setups I’ve ever had the chance to stay in. The weekend was nothing short of amazing. Daniel is an awesome host, the location is super close to the white mountains and the center of town in Littleton, and THE PLACE! An experience everyone’s gotta get a taste of at least once (or a hundred times) in their life. Cozy, breathtaking, romantic, and raw... all at the same time. Kudos for Daniel making this an experience. 10/10 will be back!

  • Great host and amazing place!

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, peaceful property about 30 minutes from Cannon resort. It's the right place if you mostly want to be out for the day then in for the night (although staying in all day works here too) because it is not too close to restaurants. The great room is spacious with a nice fireplace and the kitchen is perfect for cooking and hosting in the sun-drenched room next door. Love the king bed in the master, but you should know ahead of time that the loft upstairs is open to the rest of the house so some couples might not like that if they are seeking privacy. Otherwise, everything else is perfect!

    Thomas2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space Adley/their family has created is wonderful. So grateful for being able to experience it. It is a perfect place to unplug and be rejuvenated. Adley’s communication and responsiveness are outstanding. Very much looking forward to return visit.

    Thomas2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adleys place is incredible! Truly private and a beautiful home with great amenities. The steam room was unbelievable! The hot tub was great! The wood stove was fantastic. The heated floors were excellent! We will definitely be back!

    James2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Adleys house is a wonderful retreat in the mountains and you are sure to be relaxed for the full length of your stay

    Thomas2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time here, and I loved it as much as the last time. If you are looking for a private, isolated place to have a peaceful vacation, this is the place. Also, the sauna is a must!

    Erik2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Adley was a great host, great communicator! Each time I texted to ask a question, he was right there with a response! His Cabin was even better than the pics, to me. Great use of space, especially the kitchen, and master bedroom! Very homey, and cozy place. If you’re looking for a quite place away from civilization, this is perfect! Would definitely go back.

  • Jill’s cabin is so ideal for a New England weekend getaway! The cabin is so homey and has spectacular views. Everything from the fire pit, to Lake Harvey, to the surrounding outdoors is wonderful. We came up in the fall to enjoy the foliage and weren’t disappointed! 10/10 would recommend and will visit again in the future!

  • Lovely quiet cabin with beautiful views of the lake, we especially loved the loons and eagles every morning while we enjoyed our coffee! The bathroom had hot water and great pressure. The communication was good and checking in and out was simple. We would visit again.

  • Exactly as expected :) my boyfriend and I visited the ice castles and when we came back, we had a few drinks and he played Candyland for the 1st time! The books and games were a wonderful touch even for those without kids, and I could imagine a godsend for those with them! Convenient stay, hospitable welcome and well worth the price.

    Savannah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home in a quaint town. We loved everything about this trip. Kimberly’s place is beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches from coffee, tea and beverages to maple candies and maps. We especially loved the Lincoln Logs!

    Heather2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in. The apartment was clean, charming, and well-stocked.

    David2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay here! So much to do (Burke, Littleton, Fairbanks Museum, etc etc) and such a comfortable and cozy place to come home to after our busy days!

    Kate2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly like the pictures. Perfect location. We could not be happier. Thankyou so much.

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kim’s place was extremely accurate from what your post had shown, incredibly clean, had some great touches around the apartment to admire (posters, books) and was just a great spot overall! Would 100% stay there again!

The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, Induction Hot Plate, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup. Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugar houses, breweries, and farms as well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
Our property is private yet only minutes away from downtown. Saint Johnsbury is a typical small town that has a few shops, restaurants and stores. Most of our guests enjoy outdoor activities when they visit. Hiking and biking trails, ski mountains and lakes are all within 30 minutes of us.
  • Perfect weekend getaway!! Very relaxing.

    Sandra2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew & Marilou's place was exactly as we expected. It was clean & cozy! The fire place & hot tub were perfect as they allowed us to be outside on a cold winter night. Please note, they do not provide firewood, so make sure to bring some (they did sell some at the hardware store). They did provide boozy waffles which were delicious & fun to make on a slow morning! We would definitely come back & we are hoping to check out their other tree house!

    Brittany2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a peaceful retreat in Andrew & Marilou's treecabin - clean, quiet, comfortable, and secluded - with the hot tub and the waffles, it was exactly what we needed :) Definitely recommend

    Akhil2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Marilou’s Tree Cabin was a great getaway where we were able to relax and unwind for a few days! Great touches like the hot tub and the delicious waffles made our stay exceptional. We really appreciated the care put into the cabin itself and the hospitality. It was great to see some snow this winter, we’d love to come back to experience Vermont in another season!

    Bryan2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most relaxing getaways I've been on. We even took our 3month old and it was so peaceful.

    Timothy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most perfect, unique, serene and adorable little treehouse cabin/location and we could not have had a better time! Ideal little hideout for a short, romantic getaway!! Great experience and extremely clean which we REALLY appreciate!! The waffles were a one of a kind sort of amenity, we enjoyed them SOO much! The Apple jack ones were our favorite! Marilou and Andrew are extremely quick with communication and so very kind and welcoming! They also left TONS of information about the area and all of the funn activities to do! Our absolute FAVORITE and most exciting, beautiful thing we did this weekend was the sleigh ride we went on that was only 30 minutes away!! Thomas and his enormous, handsome Belgium horse, Pete, gave us the best experience we could have ever had on this random little getaway! With blankets, hot chocolate and all, they took us around to the most beautiful sights in VT and gave us a free bottle of their homemade maple syrup!! It is called Chandler Hill Farm on Bayley-Hazen Road in West Danville, VT! Wonderful family! We also got a couple beers and some yummy wood fired pizza at Shillings only about 5 minutes away from the cabin! We even got to stop and hike at the Quechee Gorge on the way home as well!! So much to do and so relaxing all at the same time! :) Do not hesitate to rent this place, you will not regret it!! Best thing we could have ever done, so special. <3

    Samantha2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely serene space. Up, tucked in with the trees with such a calm peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful little cabin with everything you need. The hot tub was perfect while being surrounded by snow! Marliou met us upon arriving and was a great host. There are a few restaurants in the area. Would recommend for a real getaway away from everything!

    Jennifer2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how quaint and homey this tree cabin was! We loved the waffles and sitting out in the cozy hot tub even when it was -20 degrees outside! It truly was magical! Thank you Andrew and Marilou for hosting such a wonderful place!

UPDATE 8/5: SlTE CLOSED UNTIL BUILDING FINISHED. WILL OPEN CALENDAR BACK UP WHEN FINISHED. THE STRUCTURE- Unavailable for construction for new Airbnb. We are starting this transition in June. You'll love staying on our property because you'll have full access to the 7 acres. We live the next town over. Less then 10 minutes away. Complete privacy from any neighbor. Our property has the VAST trail directly attached. During the Summer/Spring/Fall seasons you can walk to the trail.
The area is in the country but a located close to small towns for needs. Cabot is 5 minutes away, Danville is 10 away and Hardwick is 15 minutes away. You can't see the neighbors. But if loud enough they may here you or vice versa. We had many family get togethers when my dad lived across the street with fire works for 4th of July with no complaints. I want guest to have fun but please no fights or yelling. Should the neighbors complain we may not be able to continue the camping fun.
  • I had an awesome time staying on Jessica’s property. It was in a beautiful location perfect for my mountain biking trip. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating while still giving me plenty of privacy. Can’t wait to come back!

    Jameson2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The property is wonderful, secluded and quiet, and they have provided wonderful accommodations for a camp spot. Our pup loves being able to run around and as our second stay here we had some friends join us with their dog as well. The night sky is clear and gorgeous, and we were close enough to town to take a half day trip in to explore. We highly recommend their property.

    Mikaila2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding stay! I was totally expecting just a plot of grass begat I could set up a tent on, but Jessica and her family blew me away! The were super helpful when suggesting good local breakfast places with real Vermont maple syrup too! 10/10 would come back if I’m in Vermont again!

    Noah2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing spot! The property is beautiful and secluded. We had a great time and for a camp site there were more amenities than we ever would have expected or needed. They communicated with us quickly and stopped by when we arrived to say hi and make sure we had everything we needed. We didn't leave the site but they had a book with some area places to eat and see. Definitely recommend staying here, we will be for sure.

Our dog loved running around outdoors in the large property. The location was perfect for a ski weekend with multiple mountains in the area, and we loved nearby Littleton which had great restaurants and shops. • Mardi was an awesome host from start to finish. The apt was so much better than I was thinking from seeing the pictures. I would definitely stay there again.

  • The Spencer House is a beautiful Victorian house completely remodeled with all the comforts of home while keeping it’s unique charm. Mardi, our host, was delightful and provided breakfast, snacks and a little something special. From the fluffy comforter to the hot coffee we were cozy in this beautiful VT B&B.

  • We recently enjoyed a second stay with Mardi and it was great as expected! Mardi is a wonderful host - friendly, thoughtful, and goes out of her way to accommodate guests needs. She responds quickly to messages and communicates needed information. The “apartment” is very clean and well kept. We highly recommend Spencer House lodging and Gallery.

Mardi's place was wonderful - quiet neighbourhood, quiet house, super clean, thoughtful touches, comfortable, convenient. The apartment is lovely, Mardi had great response time, was willing to be as friendly or absent as one needed. Truly enjoyed the stay!

  • Our stay at Corbie’s place was great! The lake views can’t be beat, only a short drive from hiking trails and ski resorts. The house itself was spotless and very cozy! We will be back for any future hiking trips!

  • Very clean, very easy check in and check out. Lots of fun stuff in the area. 10/10 would recommend to a friend

  • Do yourself a favor and do not sleep on this place, it is a little slice of paradise. Corbie and Rob picked the perfect spot and luckily enough are willing to share it with the rest of us. The house is in the most wonderful spot right on a lake and waking up to the view with the recently fallen snow was like looking at a photo, hard to believe it was real. Aside from that, there is more than enough room for 2 with a full bed and a futon and 2 full bathrooms on top of it. Not to mention the kitchen which looks right out on to the lake. My wife and I came up for a snowboarding get away and before we left the property we were already talking about planning another stay here during the summer. Thank you Corbie and Rob for a wonderful stay!

    Stephen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Clean and comfortable. Perfect.

    James2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Corbie was readily available to communicate when needed. Before our stay, she gave us plenty of delicious recommendations for dinner around the area. Her directions for check in were easy to follow. The house was so neat, clean and like new. It had absolutely everything you could need. Plus you cannot beat the view. We really loved our stay and would love to come again in the summer!

  • Randall and Amy are by far the most gracious hosts we've encountered through AirBnb. They were thoughtful and considerate with small touches for us and even a yummy bone for our dog. They told us about local events, activities and places of interest. The house was cozy, clean and we loved the privacy. The neighborhood/community was friendly and welcoming as well. Randall and Amy are fantastic communicators and provided us with a wonderful get a way. We are looking forward to another visit asap!

This is Cabin #1 - "Rustic Retreat" What makes Rustic Log Cabins unique? It’s not just one thing but many. One of those things is the WOOD BURNING FIREPLACES in every cabin. Next is the SALMON HOLE BROOK that wanders its way through the 16+ ACRES. It runs by each cabin and the OUTDOOR FIRE PITS, singing it’s soothing songs as the water rushes over the rocks. You can stick your feet into cool off, sit along side while watching and listening to the babbles of the brook, go fishing (its stocked!) and even pan for gold! And don't forget to greet the GNOMES. They love having their pictures taken with our guests. Each cabin has a FULL KITCHEN and BATHROOM and WiFi. Some cabins have HOT TUBS. There are ONLY 6 CABINS spaced far apart. Every cabin has a YARD. All have a front porch, side yards plus a front and/or backyard. You can barbecue on your CHARCOAL GRILL on the porch (a gas grill just isn’t rustic). Each cabin even has a LIVE EVERGREEN TREE! We have OUR OWN HIKING TRAIL on our 16 ACRES leading to the MAIN CORRIDOR SNOWMOBILE TRAIL that runs through NH, VT & ME. You’ll pass the well house that delivers ARTESIAN WELL WATER to each cabin. We are located in the White Mountains Region of New Hampshire, just 15 minutes away from the WHITE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL FOREST and FRANCONIA NOTCH STATE PARK with it’s many hiking trails and natural wonders. 10-20 minutes from several small towns and villages. 15-30 minutes from several outside recreation sites and just a 40 minute scenic drive to MT. WASHINGTON, via some of NH’s official SCENIC BYWAYS. Speaking of the charm our cabins hold, TIMBERLAND - the large clothing outfitter - has chosen us to do 4 PHOTOSHOOTS as of 2019. We are OPEN YEAR ROUND and - unlike so many other lodging places - we DO NOT RAISE OUR RATES on weekends, holidays or peak seasonal times. Every one of our guests has their favorite season. SPRING welcomes the new blooms and baby creatures to the region. The mountain air awakens your “scent-ses“ and the blooms preview what’s to come in .... ... SUMMER! The full compliment of the regions’s outdoor activities await. Hiking, fishing, zip-lining, biking, and more. All of these activities and more continue in the ... ... FALL! The fall adds many colorful aspects as the rainbow of leaves float down into the Salmon Hole Brook, onto its banks and throughout the White Mountains Region. All the wonders of fall wander into ... ... WINTER! Skiing, snowmobiling, snow laced forests and that magical time of year can all be had. • This was the perfect little retreat. the cabin was in a very quiet secluded area, which was exactly what we were looking for. i forgot how much i love sitting in front of a nice fireplace. the front staff were friendly and accommodating. I look forward to staying at the rustic cabins again!

  • I can't say enough about this spot! This stay was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. It was a last minute booking and Alana was responsive, welcoming and SO helpful. My partner and I have been seeking a cabin rental for a while now, and Rustic Cabins was absolutely perfect. We are already planning our next weekend to come stay and will absolutely be making this our "go-to" getaway. The bed was so comfortable, the room was SPARKLING clean, the fireplace was ideal and the coziness of the spot was unlike anything I have ever experienced.

  • Had an amazing time in this cabin. Everyone was really nice. Cabin is very simple which is exactly what I wanted. Had everything you needed but not anything more. Didn’t love that firewood wasn’t included at all and was a little more expensive than I would have liked but still give this place a extremely high review. Thanks for everything!

This private studio space is located on our walkout basement level. You will have your own entry with a parking spot just outside the door. We are a 15 minute walk to many of the popular businesses on Main Street and there is easy access to I93 for all the outdoor activities in the White Mountain region. We enjoy welcoming travelers to our town and are happy to field any questions you may have. Otherwise, we are very respectful of our guests privacy.
The Beal House is a short walk from our house and a good dinner option. Crumb Bar is our favorite pastry stop. Schillings is great for local beer.
  • If you’re traveling up this way, I highly recommend this cozy stay. Not only is there an incredible mountainous skyline view this time of year, but this family really goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We ran into more trouble than expected or planned, and they were more than willing to help in any way they could. They also had amazing recommendations for places to eat, hike, see some views, and shop. This stay was unforgettable, if I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would.

This magical Lodge is on 100 acres of farmland with an amazing view of the White Mountains of New Hampshire and multiple amenities. It is operated on solar power with a backup generator and has been the venue for many types of events - weddings, reunions, corporate retreats. We do not live at this property, it is entirely yours during your visit. We know you will love your time at the Lodge no matter your length of that stay! NOTE- Our Lodge is closed for the Winter season, November 1 to May 1.
There is a large orchard at the lodge filled with apple trees of all varieties. Many times you may witness the wildlife of Vermont who share this property, wild turkeys, deer etc. Your pet is welcome to roam the 100 acres too.
We are located about 3 miles from the little village of North Danville on a small dirt road. When you turn off this road to go to the lodge you will think you are driving through the farmland and you are. About 3/4 mile up the road the lodge will be on your right, not visible from the Old North Church Road. The sign at the edge of the field says Curt’s Vance Memorial Orchard private, it is not private but because it is a regular Vermont street sign it must say private because it only goes to the Lodge. Enjoy your stay in the Vermont Country!
  • Wow this place was amazing. It is a gorgeous cabin with so much space. The perfect camp get away for friends or family. We were only here one night but we hope to come back again soon. It had everything!

  • Linda was a lovely host and the log cabin was comfortable, cozy and just beautiful. My two little dogs joined us for their first 'vacation' and I've never seen them happier! We had a fun time at the Laconia Pumpkin Festival, we enjoyed the delicious hand pies made by Linda and felt calm and rested when looking up at the night sky and seeing millions of stars! Beautiful spot, Wonderful host!

    Donna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Linda’s place. The orchard and fields are beautiful, and the house is an amazing log structure. It was wonderful to meet Linda.

  • We enjoyed staying at this unique and beautiful lodge in a picturesque idyllic setting. It is amazing how every log is from their property and carefully constructed with no nails. Linda and her sister Susan were very hospitable and warm. It is rustic but in a good way. We would definitely come back!

Great stand-alone, over the garage, apartment within walking distance to Littleton's award-winning Main St. Private entrance and neat, clean space that is perfect for a quick overnight or has enough comfort to stay for a few days. Fully stocked kitchen is great for cooking or you can WALK to lots of great restaurants in ten minutes or less (The Beal House is 2 minutes away)! Also less than a mile from I-93 and within biking distance (1 mile) to PRKR Mtn Trails.
The second bed is the green pullout couch located in the kitchen. It has a very comfortable full mattress and sheets for it are provided as well (located in top of bedroom closet).
Great neighborhood with both commercial businesses and residential properties. The Littleton Police and Fire Station are less than 1/4 mile away in case of emergency. Main St. is also VERY close, less than 1/8 of a mile away and certainly within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and other accommodations.
  • Very close to town. Very clean.

  • Great little place to stay for a short trip! We stayed on a ski weekend and enjoyed how close Blake's place was to restaurants and grocery store. Littleton itself is very cute! Very comfortable bed, plenty of towels and blankets, and a fully equipped kitchen though we did not use it much. Highly recommend staying here for a quick overnight trip in the Whites!

    Evi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little spot with all the things you need for your stay. Right by the downtown area of Littleton, which is an adorable cluster of shops and restaurants.

    Jenny2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable apartment above a garage with all the amenities you’d need for your stay. We didn’t need to use the full kitchen, but gracious we had the option. The bed was extremely comfortable as has been mentioned by several guests. Blake was very thoughtful and made sure to keep me informed about the rough weather they were having the day we were to arrive. Had we needed to arrive a day later he was willing to waive the first nights stay. Just super accommodating. Will definitely come back!

A cute, snug apartment with private entrance located above our garage . We live in a quiet neighborhood located just off I-91. You will have the whole apartment to yourselves, come and go as you please.
This is a place to come to unplug, as most phone service is hard to get here, and Wifi is not available at this time. No smokers. We cannot accommodate animals.
Our neighborhood is located in a little valley on the Stephens River, which feeds directly into the Connecticut. In fact, from the tiny kitchen window, you have a beautiful view of New Hampshire. The neighbors are friendly, and the village is a great place to walk around.

Located in the heart of the White Mountains this 19th century farmhouse has been a destination for hikers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts since 1899. The "Loom Rooms" was where the family loom was kept. All the linens were made on this loom. The unit now contains 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Check out all of our farmhouse listings on AirBnB! Come relax & enjoy the rustic setting on this historic NH farm!
Pinestead Farm Lodge was built in 1852. Alyssa and Brandon are the next generation of innkeepers faced with the task of renovating the old farmhouse while maintaining its rustic charm. Their current priorities lie in improvements and upkeep of the accommodations. Guests return frequently to see the changes that have been made since their last visit. We hope you, too, will enjoy seeing our progress. You can buy farm products from us year-round. This includes our grass fed beef and naturally raised pork as well as wood-fired maple syrup. We run a farm stand on the property from May through October with seasonal vegetables and fruit. If you'd like a list of availability and prices, we are happy to send that to you upon request.
Cannon Mountain Ski Area is a ten minute drive from our lodge. Bretton Woods and Loon Mountain are also a short distance away. Ski Hearth Farm and the nearby Franconia Inn offer cross country skiing and other outdoor activities.
  • Very rustic and comfortable accommodations. Communication was superb and prompt. We were thrilled to get discounted lift tickets and even even heard about a baby calf’s birth during the night. Fun and casual!

  • Stayed at Pinestead Farm Lodge, unit 3 "Loom Rooms" and had a great experience. We were looking for somewhere close to Cannon Mountain so myself and family could ski/ stay and it was exactly what we needed. Very affordable, clean, and convenient. 10 minutes from the mountain, had all the basic essentials, and Alyssa & Brandon were very helpful. If we ever needed the stay in the area again, we would happily return.

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The space is quirky with a lot of history. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. We cooked ourselves some great meals and the kitchen had all the tools we needed. We enjoyed the starry sky, the quiet, and our time spent playing games around the dining room table. Beautiful views of the farm and mountains. Great value Airbnb for folks looking for a simple yet comfortable farm lodge. Helpful and attentive hosts. Thanks for a great stay.

Spend the night in a 1785 farmhouse, replete with the charm of antique wall paper and well-worn floors. Tucked away in a quiet valley just three minutes from Peacham center, the farmstead complex has been maintained as a formerly operating dairy farm with the Cabot Creamery Cooperative. Enjoy rich spring greens or golden autumn hues on the 200-year-old maples out front. Take a stroll through the apple orchard to visit the A-frame cabin on the property, and enjoy fresh, local breakfast treats.
In addition to a downstairs shared bath with shower, the upstairs queen room has access to a half bath with a clawfoot tub. Use of kitchen on an individual basis may be allowed upon inquiry. Coffee and tea is provided throughout your stay. Enjoy an evening in the Adirondack chairs on the patio in the fragrant lilac garden, if you like.
If you're looking to get out for breakfast or lunch, pop down into town for a bite at the Peacham Cafe. Snap a photo of the most photographed church in the New England, or enjoy a local story hour at the Peacham Library. Or, just enjoy a stroll on the quiet, winding roads from our home.
  • Ian and Gretchen’s place was even better than the pictures, and they were warm and welcoming. Their farm in Vermont was a great weekend getaway from the hustle of Boston. It was so relaxing to put our feet up by a real wood burning stove, like a trip back in time. The house is from the 1780s and even better than the pictures, super charming and full of interesting historical touches and plants. Gretchen made us a wonderful breakfast and offered home made baked goods and tea at other times, as well as recommendations of where to eat in the area. There is a beautiful claw foot bathtub by the guest bedroom, though we didn’t get the chance to use it. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

    Ronnie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen and Ian were very kind and communication was thoughough and thoughtful!!

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to unwind, detach and have a simple but amazing weekend this is the spot. Tucked in a cute valley, the farmhouse is worthy of a museum. Absolutely authentic and stunning. Exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend. And then of course there are the hosts who were thoughtful, great to talk to and gave us loads of suggestions of what to do. I recommend to anyone who cares about great atmosphere and ‘slowing it down.’

    Mark2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cool barn, with a great story hosted by great people. Awesome history! We hope to be back.

    Dan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. Gretchen is a great host and was very hospitable. The furniture, plants, and decorations had a lot of thought put into them. We'll probably stay here again in the spring next time we're in the area!

    Brandon2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful old quirky farm house tucked into the hills around Peacham and Barnet. A warm bed, hot shower, and warm hospitality.

    Mike2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a step back in time you will love this place. When we first arrived I was greeted right away by Gretchen who immediately made us feel right at home. She gave us a tour up to our room. I was memorized by the furniture, and all the details of the home, inside an out. The walk around the homestead was more than I imagined. When you walk back to the A frame tiny house and look back at the farm with the foliage in the background, it is absolutely breathtaking. In the morning we woke up and Ian made us breakfast in the kitchen with nice conversation. We would love another trip with a stay here in the future.

This spacious, well-stocked, immaculate RV with large picture windows provides grand views of the impressive Connecticut River and local mountains. The RV is situated on a scenic, private waterfront property that provides easy access to launch our canoes and kayaks into the river. The guests gain access to the property through a quiet neighborhood, past a farm with an old barn, and down a private right of way.
The property is yours to explore and use freely, as though it were your own. We provide lawn games such as badminton, lawn bocce, bean bag toss, croquet, plenty of indoor games, DVD's w/ player, puzzles, books, etc. There are kayaks and canoes for you to borrow, free of charge, down by the river's edge (just please don't forget to put your life jackets on before heading out). You can explore the river up and downstream between the two dams, and you can explore the islands as well. The adventurous can pull their canoes out of the river and walk around the dam to continue on their journey upstream. Fishing is a great activity out on the river with an abundance of fresh water fish for the catching! You'll enjoy cooking up some juicy steaks on the gas grill while sitting out at your picnic table while taking in the breathtaking views of the river. In the evening, you can kick back and have smores while sharing stories around the campfire. Before you retire for the night, be impressed by the awesome northern night sky with such vibrant, bright stars and constellations like you've never seen before!
This location is very rural with chicken and dairy farms scattered across the landscape. The neighborhood that our guests pass through has a dozen or so private properties. The backdrop to the neighborhood is Hunt Mountain where guests can hike and enjoy the beauty of a brook running down off the mountain. The town of Monroe is located halfway between Woodsville, NH and Littleton, NH, both towns with plenty of shopping and services for our guest's convenience.
  • We had an absolutely wonderful experience. We reached there on a really cold night. Susan and Jeff made sure that the RV was ready with heating. The bed was comfortable and the RV was super cozy. The camper has everything you need. If you need anything else, Susan and Jeff are just a text away. They were very helpful and sweet! We hope to be there sometime in summer as well! Highly recommend this for a nice getaway.

    Harini2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • My best friend and I stayed one night and instantly wished we booked and stayed for an entire weekend. Susan and her husband were super hospitable and made us feel right at home. We got in on a really cold night and were so grateful to arrive to a cozy RV! The property was beautiful and my favorite part (besides the super cute and friendly dogs) was the panoramic window that looks out onto the lake. If you want a tranquil place that has pure beauty and accommodating hosts... this is the place for you. I can't wait to go back!

    Martaluz2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The camper has everything you need. The bed was really comfortable, and the property is in a beautiful location. Nice little getaway--especially great for couples or for someone looking for place to relax.

    Peter2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I chose to stay in the RV placed in this super scenic spot. We arrived late in the night, yet it was easy to locate - thanks to the clear instructions provided by Susan. Usually, I enjoy stargazing when I go far from cities, and this place allowed me to do precisely that as soon as I reached - perfect to my liking. It’s so scenic and close to nature. The RV is clean and has all the required amenities. The hosts (Susan and Jeff) quickly responded to the situation when the furnace didn’t function, even in the late hours. They immediately provided us a space heater that night to help us warm up and stay comfortable. Besides that, they gave us an option to move to the nearby loft (which was beautiful) and provided us refund for a night. I stayed during the peak Fall, and this was undoubtedly one of the best spots to stay during that time.

    Dinesh2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolute wonderful stay. The view is amazing and the property is just beautiful. We were able to easily prepare meals. The location is perfect for all your trips. We were close to the white mountains and the green mountains and we even had a short trip to the coast. We will definitely be staying here again!

  • Susan and Jeff have a beautiful property on the Connecticut River. We stayed for 2 nights while doing some hiking in Franconia Notch. It was absolutely perfect. The RV is situated facing the river so you have incredible views of Vermont, the sun setting over the hills and morning fog rising from the river. The RV is located in Susan’s yard (which we knew) but it is just far enough away from the house and situated so that you have plenty of privacy while hanging inside or out by the fire pit. It is super clean and cozy...well stocked with supplies if needed. We forgot coffee so the Keurig was a bonus. We would definitely stay again! Thank you!

  • This was the best treehouse we have stayed in yet. It had a full bathroom with flushable toilet, shower with hot water inside and a heater; although the house itself was surprisingly warm without the heat. It was close to the main road which made it easy to find and close to town. It is also about 30 minutes from the white mountains which has beautiful hiking trails. Daniel was a wonderful and kind host. He was quick to respond and made sure we had dry wood for the fire pit. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Honestly, better than advertised! Everything from the preparations to recommendations, Peter was on top of it. He even let us borrow his family's snow shoes to take a hike. The house was cute, and cozy, Peter had put cookies out for us when we arrived and milk and cinnamon rolls in the fridge for our convenience. The house was well stocked and has every amenity. We will definitely be returning!

  • It’s a really nice apartment, clean, comfortable, cozy and well equipped. Flawless email communication with the host. The location was really nice a lot to do around.

  • We loved staying here! The space is clean, stylish, and the beds are sooooo comfy! We enjoyed the milk and cookies after a long day of skiing, and we were grateful to stay somewhere so close to town on a -10 degree night! We had great food at the Kingdom Taproom just a few minutes down the hill. I’d choose staying here over somewhere closer to Loon any time!

    Erin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely apartment newly renovated, tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable. A very nice touch with chocolate chip cookies at the ready upon arrival. Peter communicates well and promptly. I would go back and recommend without hesitation.

  • This is a perfect AirBNB. Lots of space, easy parking, sparkling clean, lots of entertainment options, and nice & quiet for a good night’s sleep on an incredible mattress. Even some cookies as a sweet treat when I arrived late after a long day!

Located in the heart of the White Mountains, this 19th century farmhouse has been a destination for hikers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts since 1899. The "Milk Rooms" are comprised of 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a private bathroom. 10 minutes from Cannon mountain, guest enjoy discount lift tickets when staying at Pinestead Farm Lodge. Check out our other farmhouse listings on AirBnB.
  • This must be the coziest spot in the white mountains! I felt like I was at a dear relative’s house and felt safe and well-cared for our whole stay. I loved sitting on the big front porch and enjoying the sun and the clear stars at night!

  • We just stayed in Jeff's apt for 1 night, but it was a perfect stop. Easy to find (even in the dark!), clean, comfortable, warm. Wish we had longer to stay. Definitely recommend.

  • Jeff is so nice! Very easy to communicate with and quick with responses. I would recommend this location! There is plenty of space and the heat is amazing! The kitchen is perfect and has everything you need.

    McCall2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, and much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Plenty of room to spread out, yet it's warm and comfy for a winter getaway. Jeff met us at arrival with an extra heater in hand, as it was an exceptionally cold couple of nights while we were there. The place has everything you'd need and is super clean. It was slightly more than some others we were considering in the area, but still a good value. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Mary2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great!

    Stephanie2018-10-09T00:00:00Z

  • Jeff & Paula's place was the perfect place for us to rent! It offered all the amenities & conveniences of home. Very clean! Was wonderful to have a grill to cook on and we so enjoyed sitting on your enclosed porch just relaxing. It's conveniently located to many places. We were able to do a little exploring. I personally highly recommend your place and we are already talking about our next year plans. You'll be hearing from us! Thanks again for your hospitality & was a pleasure meeting you!

  • Julie's little house is a well designed and comfortable place to sleep. We loved the colors she has choose and her thoughtful touches. Julie is a warm and friendly host, and made sure we were happily settled in. The house is easy to find in a very convenient location off of RT.2. Her place was quiet and our surprise bonus was the stunning beauty of the stars and night sky as we lie in bed. We felt like we could almost touch the stars overhead.

  • The closet space was wonderful, the floors and bathrooms were beautiful! The home was decorated for Christmas (must be year round) and the beautiful decor was on every surface. We carefully moved several things to be able to set things down and function, especially in the bedrooms. We would happily stay here again and will recommend to friends. The location was perfect for exploring Vermont and the White Mountains!

Just 10 miles off the Interstate, but you'll feel like you're way back in the country. Enjoy long view eastward across the Connecticut River Valley to New Hampshire mountains.
Dawnside is a hillside home on a dirt road, tucked into the woods with a view of local hills and distant mountains and plenty of space to unwind. Built over many years, it started out as an 800 sf, off-the-grid home. Today the now 1,700 sf house has electricity and WiFi, and can easily accommodate four or five, although it's cozy for one or two as well. There's a queen bed in the large (16x20) cathedral-ceilinged master bedroom, a full bed in one small (10x10) bedroom, and a twin bed in another small (10x10) bedroom. With its central location between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire, you can use Dawnside as a base camp for day trips to go hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring the area. Or stay right here and take a walk on the property's woods roads and listen to the wind in the trees. Relax on the deck and watch the sunrise with your tea or coffee, or enjoy your favorite evening drink as you watch the colors shift and change on the mountains and valleys as the sun sets behind you. Lie on your back at night and enjoy the bright stars - there's virtually no light pollution up here on the hill. Light a campfire, toast marshmallows, make s'mores, and watch the fireflies. Rainy day? Curl up with a book in the cozy library nook. The TV, along with a selection of DVD's, is temporarily located in the nook as the living room is being renovate d. There's no cable service but there is WiFi so you can hook up a laptop or Fire Stick and stream video. The kitchen is small but well equipped: refrigerator with ice maker, 5-burner electric range, microwave, dishwasher, and large single-bowl sink. Small appliances include coffee maker, coffee grinder, electric kettle, blender, hand mixer, and 4-slice toaster, and there's a French press as well. There are plenty of plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, utensils, and cookbooks. Plastic children's plates, bowls, cups, and silverware are also provided. A selection of coffees, teas, condiments, and spices are provided. A gas grill is located on the back deck for outdoor cooking. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower upstairs. A small 3/4 bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), with a 30" door, is off the laundry room. The laundry room has a front loading washer and dryer and fragrance-free laundry detergent is provided. A 50 gallon water heater provides plenty of hot water. Cell service is spotty at best and seems to change with the wind, weather, and number of birds flying overhead. Verizon works better than other carriers, although you may need to stand in the parking area to catch a signal. There is a landline for your use.
The house is located 1.25 miles (2.0 km) "off the blacktop," halfway up a 1/2 mile (0.8 km) long, quiet dead-end road. There are neighbors but they can't be seen from the house. Sometimes it is so quiet here that you can hear kids playing on the next ridge over... 1/4 mile (0.4 km) away. Quiet country back roads are great for walking, running, and bicycling on. The last 1/4 mile on your way back is a bit steep. Northeast Slopes, where you can ski "the way it used to be," is less than 10 minutes away. It's totally volunteer-run, nature-dependent for snow, and features up to 12 trails, 360' of vertical height, 2 rope tows, and a T-bar - all for a $15 day pass. There's no night skiing but there is reasonably priced food at the snack bar. You can snowboard, too. Bring your own skis and/or boards. If you're going to use the tows bring leather work gloves (or buy them at the snack bar). Burke Mountain and the Dartmouth Skiway are about an hour away. There are two general stores within 10 minutes. The Roots School, which teaches traditional skills, is just 6 miles/12 minutes away. The Mountain School in Vershire is 13 miles/25 minutes. The town of Bradford, with several restaurants, a Kinney Drugs pharmacy, a large Hannaford's supermarket, the awesome Farmway feed/clothing/shoes & boots/furniture store, the Red Kite Candy kitchen and store, and the Bear Ridge dirt race track, is 20 minutes away. The city of Barre ("Bear-ee"), home to famous granite quarries you can visit, is half an hour out. Vermont's capital, Montpelier, is 45 minutes away, as is the up-and-coming White River Jct, Vermont and the home of Dartmouth College: Hanover, New Hampshire. Waterbury, VT, home of Ben & Jerry's, is an hour away and Burlington, VT is an hour and 15 minute drive. A drive-in movie theater is about twenty minutes away. Camp chairs and outdoor blankets are provided so you can grab them and go watch a movie under the stars. In mid-September the Tunbridge World's Fair is just 35 minutes away. Several area artisans participate in May and October Open Studio Weekends and invite you to meet them and see their work. White Mountains attractions, including Lost River Gorge and Polar Caves, are about an hour away. The house is located midway between the Appalachian Trail and Vermont's Long Trail with access to each taking an hour or less, and there are several hiking trails in the area including the 3.5 mile Wright's Mountain Trail just 15 minutes away. Fishing, boating, and swimming are available at many places within a half hour or so radius and Vermont Fish & Game offers free boat launch access at many locations (Note: some lakes and ponds do not allow motorboats). Sporting licenses are available at the East Corinth General Store or online.
  • Erich’s place is beautiful, it's like a dream house. You will have everything that you need and more! He is a kind person and always ready to help. One of the coziest places where we have stayed.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Dawnside. It was a nice, relaxing winter getaway. Erich went above and beyond our expectations. He was quick with communication, and provided little surprises around the house that we loved! The views are wonderful. The place is clean. We highly suggest staying at Dawnside. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks Erich!

  • This was my second time staying here and I think we will continue to do it every year going forward! Erich is a great host, with an immaculate home. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful and restful place to spend a weekend. We were delighted by all the thoughtful touches throughout Dawnside—and my husband let me sleep through one of the most beautiful sunrises they’ve ever seen!

    Meghan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Winter at Erich's place is the epitome of hygge (google it). The house itself is tremendously well thought out - we marveled at all the details that went into building such a wonderful place all weekend, and I'm sure we could have kept marveling for weeks longer. I could list all the great things about this place (the beautiful surroundings, the quiet neighborhood, the comfortable furniture, all the little household items available to you, etc.) but to short cut to the point - you definitely won't be disappointed staying here. We will definitely be going out of our way to stay here again.

    Peter2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at Erich's place was above expectations, from the little attentions with many local products freely provided to the clear notes left everywhere to avoid any hassles. Everything was sparkling clean and the champêtre design of the house really helped us evade for a weekend! Will certainly book again if needed!
