  • We loved our stay here, it was the perfect weekend getaway space. Loved being so close to the Monroe center square, but enjoyed having such a cozy space to relax. The apartment was very clean, cute decorating style, and a lovely place to stay. Amanda gave us all the details we needed for our arrival and our stay. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Monroe.

  • The place was kept clean and Amanda was responsive. She gave feedback on where to go. And gave good recommendations.

  • Located downtown you are surrounded by great options for food and entertainment and only a block from Minhas Brewery. The apartment was so clean I was almost afraid to sit down, but she has an incredibly comfortable couch and the greatest movie of time in her entertainment center, Smokey and the Bandit. Superhost!

    Frank2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s place in Monroe was fantastic! We have been coming to Monroe for day trips for a while, but never really found anywhere in the square to stay & walk to all the fun things Monroe has to do. Amanda’s place is the PERFECT location. It’s spotless & comfy & even better than the pics!! We can’t wait to visit again in the future. Great communication & easy check in & out. If you are debating.... DO IT!! You will be happy you did! 🤗

  • You will not find a better bargain paired with such a beautiful space! Frank and Moonyean were top notch hosts, responsive to all our questions and needs, and made our stay one of the best ever! We enjoy cooking our own meals when on the road - their fully stocked kitchen matched wonderfully with our requirements. The space is clean, spacious, and very private. While we don’t have children, the space is laid out for little tykes, and the hosts are clearly welcoming and considerate of all ages of their guests. Fully recommend this space and its gracious hosts!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive and helpful.

    Alicia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Frank and Moonyean’s place. It was a perfect spot for our family to spend a week between holiday events and visiting friends. Their place was very clean and modern, but what stood out most is how thoughtful it was laid out and furnished. We had everything we needed to cook meals, relax, and keep our kids busy. The beds were very comfortable! In addition to the great space, they were exceedingly helpful with open and clear communication out entire stay. You can easily call this place home during your stay!

You’ll love my place because I love making you feel comfortable and at home. Although I have one spare bedroom, I also have a couch, air mattresses and space. Extra toilet and laundry in the basement. Babies welcome if you have a Play N Pack. Smoking ok outside. My place is good for couples, families, solo adventurers, and business travelers. My son's dog is visiting Summer 2018. While he is a safe fellow, if you are allergic to, or fearful of, dogs, this may not be your place this summer.
A single-family 3- bdm ranch house with 1 dedicated guest room. I live alone, but am open to interns needing a longer term.
A residential neighborhood 14 blocks from the Courthouse Square. Easy access to shopping, museums, gas and grocery, restaurants, laundromat and Swiss Colony.
  • Pat was quick to respond to my inquiries. Pat's home is very comfortable and a great choice! When in the area again I'll check if Pat's available.

  • Pat's place was so good I booked an extra night!

    Oak2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the stay. Pat was a delight to work with. Room was cozy, plenty of nice touches.

    Christopher2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Pat is a very warm and friendly host. She went out of her way to see that I was comfortable and that I got the most out of the local attractions and cuisine.

    Lewis2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was very personable, warm and friendly with great info and suggestions on local events and directions! The house was nice and cool when we arrived (which was great with the hot summer weekend weather!) and she provided a great breakfast before our race. Thanks for the delightful stay and conversations!

    Veronica2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was awesome, she waited outside when we checked in late. Provided breakfast in the morning and direction of the local places. Her hospitality is truly remarkable

    Md Imran2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little spot if you’re looking for a quick night. Monroe is a cute little Swiss town with lots to do and see, and Pat is incredibly hospitable. Just be prepared for some clutter and a shared bathroom!

    Pat2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was a very kind and gracious hostess. I really enjoyed chatting with her and learning about her background. She also recommended lots of cool places in Monroe and gave me a useful map for the rest of my journey when I departed. I'd recommend Pat's home as a base for anyone staying in the Monroe area.

Loft in building separate from house on 15 acre livestock farm. Full bath & fridge in building. King size bed, with twin on floor, & sofa for additional guests, but the ceiling is at 6 ft so really tall people have to duck. I raise goats, sheep, & cattle so you'll have the opportunity to commune with them while enjoying the land, spring fed creek & pond. Within driving distance of several state parks, the Mississippi, & Galena, IL. An hour to Madison, WI; 2.5 hours to Chicago.
IF YOU ARE A TRAVELLING HEALTHCARE WORKER, MESSAGE ME FOR A DISCOUNTED RATE. 10 x 32 loft room in multipurpose shop/animal housing building. Full bathroom, fridge, coffee maker, tv, and wifi. You won't smell the animals, but the rooster or goats might wake you up. Loft temp in the winter is 68-70 degrees. A space heater is available if you prefer a warmer room. If you're looking for a farm experience on the cheap, here's your place. If you prefer a more traditional motel/b&b type of housing, pass us by. Biker, pagan, LGBTQ friendly.
I live in the provinces. There's no food delivery, but there are small towns within 3 miles with the larger town containing the most amenities ten miles away.
  • If you need what this is... it's perfect! No frills, but all the necessities. Hot shower, decent water pressure, microwave, fridge, comfy bed, very peaceful and quiet except for the occasional animal sound. Very clean. The building is essentially light industrial, but it is very new construction, is heated, and is well lit. I'd choose this sort of set-up over a motel every time. The hosts are friendly and accomodating, but are very hard-working, with a lot of other things to attend to, so this would not be a great choice for guests who are fussy or needy.

    Jesse2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an unusual but interesting place to stay. The set up is adequate but not fancy at all. I am not an overly picky person but if you are allergic to dust, this is not the place for you as it is in a machine shed/barn. The dust wasn't a problem except when I got out of the shower and walked with damp feet on the floor - dirty feet! The owners have an old turn table and tons of vinyl records to play. The king sized bed is super comfortable and, except for farm animal noises, the place is very quiet. The owners gave me lots of privacy, I had the whole building to myself and it's HUGE. Would have loved to have stayed in the spring/summer and actually gotten out with the farm animals.

    Michelle2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is as described. It is a great farm and a very unique place to stay. The animals and the old records were a nice addition. Jeanne and Tom were very welcoming and accommodating.

    Michelle2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • I cant say enough how much I enjoyed staying at Goat Land! Jeanne and Tom (and dingo)were very welcoming even though we were a tad late coming in. Even though it’s getting colder outside it’s cozy and warm inside the barn with a record player stereo system and all of the great oldie records to spin! iI’ll definitely be coming back soon since it’s only two hours from milwaukee! The goats just sealed the deal 🐐♥️✨

    Jade2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne is great and her farm is very peaceful!

    Kate2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Most people won't be able to understand the simplicity, and real beauty in the place. If you want an unbelievable value, in a rolling rural area-hit the RESERVE button now. GOOD HOST(S)....people and animals.

    Justen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne and Tom were excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating, particularly for arranging charging for my Tesla overnight in their shed on the farm. The goats were fun to watch. Pretty good restaurant just a few miles down the road.

    Philip Jay2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • If the idea of bunking above a chicken yard sounds cool, this is your place. Jeanne’s farm stay is clean and comfortable, with all the mod-cons necessary. I did a quick load of clothes, too. The goats are great, the sheep are silent, and the donkey will steal your heart. Jeanne’s a great host. But it’s not super easy to find if you don’t have a sharp Co-pilot. Look for the blue barn roof with a cow statue on top!

  • Wonderful stay! Penny and Greg were the perfect hosts, available if you need anything but not the least bit intrusive. The property is beautiful and well kept, and there are several great spaces to lounge aside from your room. I particularly enjoyed hanging out on the porch at night. I'd recommend staying here to anyone coming to Monroe.

    Maryam2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exceeded our expectations! We stayed in Mays Suite, what a beautiful room! The amenities were fantastic and we enjoyed sitting in the front porch! We would certainly recommend this to our friends and families. Thank you for making our first Airbnb experience a great one!

    Nicole2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The mansion is beautiful and Penny was a thoughtful host. The rooms are very comfortable. I would love to come back sometime to see the refurbishments that she has planned.

    Andrew2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I found this wonderful mansion to stay at for our anniversary, as we were headed to Monroe, Wi to have a weekend's getaway to visit the Minhaus Brewery, distillery and winery. Penny was an absolutely amazing host and even offered us lawn chairs to take in the local concert on the square when we arrived. The mansion felt inviting and smelt amazing. After a long day of exploring, the front porch was a welcome sight and even offers a gas grill if you'd like to stay in and make your own which complements the little kitchen inside for use. There are multiple seating areas within the property to relax including a large den with a larger tv for your viewing. As a response to other reviews of this property stating the grounds could use some work, I would say " don't we all have constant upkeep on our own properties ". Penny and her husband have made this a beautiful place and have many more plans to enrich this great place. We can't wait to come back and see all of there progress and of course return to eat at Pancho & Lefty's, the best pulled pork we've ever had .

  • We had a wonderful time staying here during our winter weekend in New Glarus. The home is a good location with plenty of space and room for multiple couples. You can walk to downtown when nice outside. We were there in the middle of January, so we drove instead of walking to town. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return.

    Debbie2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our rental in New Glarus. Amber and Mike have an adorable townhouse with three bedrooms and two full baths. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The location is not quite downtown, so if that's important for you, take note, but getting to downtown is just a short walk or drive. We would definitely come back to New Glarus and stay in this house again!

    Sara2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

  • My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend stay while exploring the surrounding areas. Seth was a great host, making us feel at home. We particularly enjoyed sitting by the fireplace, watching the many cardinals out the window, and going for a walk on the trails with the resident dogs. Would highly recommend!

    Katherine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cool space, basically a basement off the side of the house and has great views of wildlife roaming around or the stars while enjoying the fire place! Also pretty close to new glarus for food and stuff

    Steve2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. It was a super place to stay that was near the city, but out in a nature sanctuary that was perfect to act as our home base when we were in town visiting family. Returning every evening to this beautiful space was a great way to recharge every day. It was extremely clean and it had everything I needed. But the best part was that this space catered as much to my pugs as it did to me. My dogs loved being able to easily go in and out with our private entrance. They loved sprawling out on the big dog bed in front of the fireplace and even meeting the host dogs for a little friendly run about. This place was so welcoming and is a real gem in the Airbnb community. We will be back for sure.

  • Seth's place is the perfect restful getaway. We absolutely loved the view and how quiet it was... and the beautiful birds that stopped by to use the feeders. The space had everything we could possibly need and even more... we enjoyed the books and games (especially Mancala!). We spent a day hiking through the Brooklyn Wildlife Area in the snow, that was also great! Would highly recommend this space to others.

  • This place is amazing!! Such thoughtful touches all over the space and they were so kind and flexible with us. Access to the nature trails right out the back door, and coming back to enjoy a Jacuzzi bath and a fireplace was so delightful. We are definitely going back as a go-to get away spot!!

  • This was a wonderful place to vacation. It is the perfect size for a couple people to peacefully stay. The property had everything we needed to be comfortable and have our needs met. It was perfectly clean & pleasant to be in, and very welcoming. We were traveling with our two dogs who were very welcome to join us on this trip which we greatly appreciate!!! The owner checked in with us several times to make sure we were doing okay and if we needed anything, but at the same time gave us our space & privacy. This home is a very beautiful home filled with beautiful hearts. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!

  • If you want to get away from it all and enjoy natural surroundings to recreate in or just look at, this is the place. Big, fresh snowfall was perfect for sledding and snowshoeing. Would be beautiful sitting on the patio in warmer weather too. Seth was a very congenial host.

Enjoy this large sunny condo right downtown, steps away from dining, shopping, and entertainment. Perfect for a couples' getaway, friends' weekend, or business traveler.
Large 1 bedroom condo/apt located in the heart of New Glarus. Kitchen is supplied for all of your basic needs. Pots, pans, dishes, basic cooking supplies, condiments, cereal, coffee & tea, etc. Even got some pizza in the freezer for that late nite snack. If its in the kitchen you can use it. Kitchen opens into a spacious, well lit living room looking over main street New Glarus. There is a 48" smart TV. We get all the Madison channels, but, sorry no cable. However it is preloaded with netflix and amazon prime so there is lots to choose from. There is a small office area in the back complete with basic office supplies. Free WIFI is provided. Turn down the lights and crank up the gas fireplace for a nice relaxing vib in the evening. Large bedroom with a King (deep quilted topper, super comfy) and a Queen (sleep number with a cool memoryfoam topper). Large closet to keep all of your stuff out of the way.
Located in the heart of New Glarus, almost everything is within walking distance. The Brewery is about 2 miles away and is a must see. The historical village will bring you back in time. Incredible dining opportunities, live music every weekend, and of course the festivals. If you are a runner or a biker the Sugar River Trail is 2 blocks away. The neighborhood is generally quiet, but we are located on main street. During some of the festivals it can be a little noisy so we do provide a box fan for "white noise" for folks who are light sleepers.
  • Great value and great location.

  • Roberta's place was even better than I thought it would be. The rooms were larger than I expected, with plenty of space to spread out and put my things away. The kitchen was large with enough room to cook and spread out on the table, and tons of utensils, cookware, etc. There was even a little nook for reading and writing - just what I needed for this trip. Everything was super clean too! But the best part about this property is the outdoors - amazingly quiet, tons of nature, room to walk, and curious goats to brighten your day. This was my first stay here (for a solo meditation retreat) and it had everything I needed. I will definitely be back again!

    Jory & Maria2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was very clean when we arrived and communication leading up to and during the stay was just what we needed. The eggs and homemade bread were amazing touches and we would not hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in town. Thanks!

    Nate2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was quiet and comfortable; we wanted a weekend in the country and got exactly that. The location was perfect for our day trips to Mineral Point and New Glarus for art, beer, food. The perks of fresh eggs, banana bread, and goats were also appreciated. We’d love to come back to stay during the warmer, more vibrant months on the land.

    Andrea2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This weekend at Roberta's guest house was a fantastic getaway. The banana bread she made and farm fresh eggs she brought us were just the beginning of this ideal experience spending a weekend away the from the hustle and bustle of city life. Making a short drive to small towns in the area to eat and shop revealed a true Wisconsin culture that thrives on seemingly nothing but local farms and businesses. We enjoyed our anniversary weekend here very much and highly recommend to anyone considering staying here that they take advantage of everything this lovely, modern, extraordinary, inspiring place has to offer.

    Collin2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This space is a wonder. The house is cozy and exactly the amount of space we needed, the farm-fresh breakfast (delicious aronia-banana bread, for us!) was perfect for getting the day started, and my fiance got to see the Milky Way for the first time in the peace of the surrounding land. Plus, the goats were very friendly! All in all, a restful stay with a warm personal touch.

    Abbey2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta was a great communicator and made us feel welcome in every way. We were treated to fresh farm eggs and aronia banana bread. Quiet and beautiful setting with walking trails. Non-scented soaps and local teas were much appreciated. We couldn't have had a better stay and were sorry we had to leave! Christine

    Christine2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBnb experience and Roberta did an amazing job of not only being quick to answer any questions, but we loved receiving fresh banana bread and farm eggs for breakfast! This was a cozy place away from home tucked in the beautiful Wisconsin country side. I’ll recommend anyone looking for a quiet retreat to stay here.

We offer a private 700 square foot apartment over the top of our detached garage. The space is located a block away from a coffee shop and the Badger State Trail.
Our space is unique due to its closeness to Sugar River, and the Badger State trail. There are also places to hike the Ice Age trail that are 5 minutes away. The Village of Belleville is a small quiet place but only 20 minutes away from Madison.
Our neighborhood is quiet, and our neighbors are wonderful. Everyone I have met around my home has been very nice to us.
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean and well maintained. It’s private with no disturbances. The place is behind the main house with its own entrance. We also received welcome cookies.

  • Great deal and private stay- close drive to new glarus and Madison. Also checkout the Duluth outlet that is a couple mins away, and the coffee shop-llama (something)- less than a block away, cute and good!!

  • The place was simple and clean and well worth the cost. I was in town on business for well over a week and couldn’t have picked a better quieter place away from the hustle. This was also in a great location less than a minute walk from a great coffee shop and local cafe. I would highly recommend this stay!!

  • We were in town for a family wedding and had a wonderful quiet retreat here in the carriage house. Belleville is such a cute town and everything is just a short walk from the house. Check-in was super easy with clear instructions to check in on your own which was great considering we got in much later than we expected and therefore didn’t have to disturb anyone. Overall a cozy and wonderful stay! We would definitely recommend staying here and if we’re ever back in town for a family event we would definitely stay here again! Thank you for your hospitality!

The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the home was exceptionally clean. Roger was great to work with! We’ve already recommended to our friends and family in the Freeport area!

A fully equipped kitchen, dining room table that seats 10+, and a bright spacious living room that looks out over the lake. That is not to mention the family room with the ping pong table in the lower level. Roger was quick to answer all of my questions and emailed instructions regarding the house the day before we arrived. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet neighborhood home to stay in...Roger’s place will meet your needs.

Unplug in our gorgeous barn loft above our working barn. Sleep to the sound of crickets and frogs in the pond, then wake up and pet the sheep, goat, rabbits, kittens & chickens. Open floor plan, cathedral ceiling, farm decor, fire pole, sliding barn doors. Full kitchen, whirlpool tub, rain shower, laundry. Stone patio, fire pit, treehouse. 2 bedrooms, sleeper sofa, air mattresses. Juice, coffee, bagels and freshly laid eggs provided. NO A/C or WiFi; ABSOLUTELY NO PETS Facebook oakspringsfarmwi
The loft is above a working barn so visiting our sweet animals is a special treat. We don't have a rooster crowing but you might hear the sheep baa-ing to greet the morning as they head out of the barn.
We have 24 acres with woods, a pond and pasture. The woods are filled with wildlife, including a pair of young does born this spring. Bring sturdy boots and clothes and go on a woods ramble (especially fun during summer wild raspberry season!) plus, our farm animals are friendly and love attention. Blanchardville, Argyle, New Glarus, Mt Horeb and Monroe are all nearby with Saturday farm markets, river tubing, local brewery tours, excellent restaurants and lots of interesting shops. We would be happy to offer recommendations if you like. Madison is 45 minutes away, too. Also, Yellowstone Lake State Park is 15 miles away, offering all season hiking and fishing, and boating or swimming in warm weather.
  • This is year three of us staying with Karen and she is simply wonderful every time. The loft is everything you could want in a getaway, no cell service, warm comfy beds, and gentle baaaa's from lambs as you come down the stairs. What could ever be better??

    Taylor2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our farm stay was the first for my boyfriend & me. We were not disappointed! They were spectacular hosts & we adored the animals as well as listening to Karen’s knowledge on them. Karen truly pours her heart into her farm. We were sad to say goodbye! We may make this a yearly trip. 😊

    Kimberly2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay. Very cozy and clean, and the barn animals were just the cutest! 🥰

    Emily2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place definitely a place to check out for yourself.

    Lucas2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our first trip so much, this was our second within a month. Such a lovely space during the holiday season, the weather was milder so we spent quite a bit of time by the fire pit, when we could get our boys away from all of the sweet animals. So quiet and peaceful, chickens roaming around, cats waiting outside the door for snuggles, drama llama escaping again, haha! Chewie , the goat has a special place in our hearts, the kittens, oh, the kittens! And of course the sheep, I’m pretty sure my boys know the names of all of the animals now! I love that it’s such a rustic, barn feel downstairs , but the actual barn we stay in is so clean, beautiful, a true vacation for a mom. Thank you, Karen and George for your hospitality, and great ideas of things to do. The Toy Train Barn was a huge hit and Cave of the Mounds, wow, amazing. And stop in Mt. Horeb, with all the crazy trolls, we ate a 1 and 1/2 pound soft pretzel at the Grumpy Troll. We can’t wait to come back and see all the new lambs!!

    Suzanne2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place definitely has the wow factor! The loft is beautiful. And the animals are so sweet and gentle. I wanted to spend more time with them, but I was afraid my husband would start sneezing if I had too much snuggle time with them. Karen and George were awesome. We loved this trip.

    Donna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gems of a place! ❤️ We went on a girls trip with my 11 and 14 year old daughters and 3 of her girlfriends she met at camp. The animals, treehouse and shopping in New Glarus were the highlights of the weekend! We feel completely and utterly in love with the kittens on sight (Caludious was my personal fave) and it was great to see how well Karen and George cared for their animals. One thing to be aware of is that the loft does have an open concept, which allowed sound to travel easily. It was a bit of a challenge (obviously) with 4 teenage girls who wanted to be up later than mom and little sister. However the treehouse served as their hangout where they could talk as we slept. 😉 Karen and George were quick to respond with questions and their hospitality was amazing. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

    Amy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough about this place! I have never seen my 2 boys (11 & 12) so excited, they had so much fun with the animals, my husband and I as well! Bandit, the llama, fell in love with my boys, my husband fell in love with the little gray kitten. Karen and George are amazing hosts, so helpful, and so many wonderful special touches around the loft. The fire pole and fire pit were a big hit. The loft is beautiful, full size everything in the kitchen and so clean. We had so much fun, we decided to come back in a few weeks and stay longer. Can’t wait!!

Come stay in a real tiny house with a super comfy memory foam full-size bed, sitting/dining area, and its own kitchenette. Think of this as the ultimate "glamping" experience. A private bathroom with an oversized shower is just a few steps across your private brick patio in the adjacent studio building. Great for couples or solo adventurers.
Welcome to our new addition to Still Point, perfect for one or two people. With its comfy memory foam full-size bed, sitting/dining area, and kitchenette, you will have everything you need in a cozy, yet surprisingly open space. Just steps across your brick patio is our studio which houses a private full bathroom. Actually inspired by our 1963 Friendship Vacationaire vintage canned ham travel trailer, we were able to design and build in only 108 square feet everything you need for luxury comfort in a tiny space: a place to sleep, to sit, to eat, and to prepare meals. As a three seasons building, during non-freezing weather it has running cold water to a small double sink. The kitchenette also features a refrigerator, a high quality double burner hot plate, fresh well water for drinking, stainless steel counter, cookware, utensils, French press coffee maker, and charming vintage style dinnerware. The kitchen makes it easy to prepare simple meals, while just steps away onto the main house deck is a gas grill. We ask that you not cook potentially messy, smelly, or splattering foods like bacon or fish in such a small space (…lessons we learned the hard way in our camper). For your comfort in the building there are both a space heater and air conditioner to moderate temperature extremes. There is also a quiet variable speed exhaust fan to pull fresh cool air through open windows. The bedside lighting and chandelier are fully dimmable, and the patio side windows have privacy shades. Although there is limited WiFi (no streaming because we have monthly data limits on our satellite Internet service), you will appreciate the built-in USB chargers for cell phones and other devices. Even though it may be tiny, there is hanging space on clothes hooks, cubbies to store dry food and personal items, and room under the bed for a suitcase or bag. There is also plenty of space in the large studio bathroom for some of your personal items. You will enjoy the nearby flower and veggie gardens and lounging on your own patio away from the larger deck near the main house. Or, you may want to join us or other guests in those areas, including the campfire circle. Certainly, you will want to experience the outdoor shower near the upper gardens and deck (…an often praised feature by our guests). The view beyond the south windows is the head of one of our two small trails, so nice to explore for their peacefulness. Whether springtime for the migrating birds and flowering redbud trees, early summer for the blackcap wild raspberries, the late summer wildflowers, or the autumn colors, there is always natural beauty just outside your door. You will notice our Tiny House pricing is considerably more affordable than our main rental at Still Point Country Retreat. And, especially if you rent it as a package with friends or family, there are discount advantages. If you rent the main apartment and want to add the Tiny House, we will discount the latter by 25%. And, if you want to rent the main apartment, but prefer to have exclusive privacy, we will block the Tiny House from other renters if you pay us 50% of its rental fee. You need to request these discounts in your inquiry and we will return with a "special offer" reflecting those discounts. You may also find us by searching the Web with our name, Still Point Country Retreat. Basically the same info, but we think prettier. We want to book exclusively through Airbnb because there is insurance that protects both parties. There is a link on our website directly to this listing.
Primrose Township is one of the most rural parts of Dane County, Wisconsin, the same county that is home to the well know city of Madison. Surrounded by rolling farmland, we are mostly farms and woods here. Popular with bicyclists and trout fishermen, but not a place for shopping since there is not a single retail establishment in the entire 36 square miles. However, with the small towns of New Glarus, Mt. Horeb, Verona, and even MIneral Point and Spring Green all within a relatively short drive, there are plenty of things to do, restaurants, etc. And, Madison is only 30 minutes away...a city to satisfy virtually any cosmopolitan desire.
  • Joe you were an amazing host...Your home is a really sincer and tasteful reflection of your travels and master crafstmanship of woodworking and interior design. • Staying at the Tiny House during our vacation was a perfect fit! Located close to everything we were in the area to see. The property itself was beautiful, peaceful, and full of amenities. And to top it off, the Tiny House was absolutely adorable!!! Only wish we had more free time so we could fully utilize the property and chat with Kathi & Joe more as they were a treat to meet.

    Jodi2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi and Joe’s place is a little slice of heaven in the heart of rural Wisconsin!

  • The Tiny House was everything we imagined and more. It was like walking into a fairytale. It is a place of tranquility where you can escape the everyday chaos and renew your soul. Joe and Kathi were gracious and kind hosts. We are already making plans to return on the summer.

    Barb2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough great things about this one-of-a-kind stay. The small house is amazing - so cozy and comfortable with incredible amenities and thoughtful touches. Joe and Kathi are amazing guests who know so much about the surrounding area. Will definitely come back here 5/5

    Michael2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolute DREAM. Kathi and Joe were amazing hosts and communicated with me before my stay so I knew exactly what to expect. It was just what this tired mom needed to refresh and recharge. Reading on the patio was so serene and the night sky was beautiful! The tiny house has everything I needed. The bathroom was more than adequate and really not far- less than I have to walk in my own house! If you are on the fence JUST BOOK IT, you won’t regret it!

Our house is situated in 10 acres of forest, 5 miles south of the charming swiss town of New Glarus, WI. It's 30 miles from Madison. There are gardens, trails, fruit trees and a camping/picnic spot on the property. It's ideal for people who want to get away from the city & relax in the secluded setting of the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin.
Our home is surrounded by a lush forest and a natural garden. you will wake to the sound of songbirds in the morning, and be surrounded by a clear sky filled with stars at night.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.
  • So my weekend at Schuhchen's with my seven year old boy could not have gone better. I knew I loved the Driftless region of South/W. Central Wisconsin from a prior visit to a pig farm in Belleville, a town nearby, but this trip was something on a different level. I received accommodations that all prior guests promised I would. FIVE STARS.. Please come visit the "four seasons" at Schuhchen's home, an architectural study of lines, levels, colors, perspectives, and natural landscapes. Inside, it's the cultural interior designers dream. The natural lights are fine indeed. Any musical minded soul is certainty at home here. Oh and farming, and a wood stove and sight lines and perfect windows, and this and that, but let's get to the main attraction; there is the lovely, amusing, talented lady who is responsible for all of the above. Well done, madame!!

  • Schuhchen was so friendly and welcoming! Her place was super easy to find, upon arriving you’re greeted with a beautifully constructed home (that she designed!!), with an amazing view! The house is even more beautiful in person! The bed was very comfortable, and everything was SO clean! She even lit the wood burning stove prior to us returning so it was toasty warm! Unfortunately, we were just too tired to enjoy it. My boyfriend and I had a very lovely time for our very first AirBnB stay! Thank you Schuhchen for being such an amazing host! If we do another trip out there we definitely will be looking into her place again!

    Meghan2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Schuhchen's house is beautiful -- stylish, spotlessly clean, and warm. My favorite part, though, was the hostess. Schuchen is such a very kind and fun person! I've never met an Airbnb host who treated me like an honored guest in her home, but it was amazing. (Note to travelers who want privacy: Schuhchen made it clear that the level of interaction was up to me. I'm sure a solitary visit is possible, if that's your style. I wanted to talk with her about the house, Wisconsin life, etc. and she most graciously obliged!) The house and woods are both so calming and lovely. Do yourself and your spirit a favor and spend some quiet time at Chez Schuchen. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

  • Simply the best.

    Jonathan2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Schuhchen’s home is even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. Driving to her home was fun, especially going up her long driveway, revealing a cozy and stylish home at the top of the hill! My boyfriend and I spent the night in one of the comfiest beds ever, really. Although it was a cold November night, the warmth from the wood burning stove and the heavy comforter kept us very warm. Our clean and well lit bathroom was just across from our bedroom. I enjoyed the shower a lot. Schuhchen was very careful when designing and building this home. You can see her creative thoughtfulness in everything from the vaulted ceilings and small loft bed In our bedroom, to the carafe of water and cups to quench our thirst in the middle of the night with out going too far. (I really loved that water). This was my first Air B&B, and I would definitely stay at another, with hopes of it being as nice as Schuhchen’s, and for my next new Glarus weekend I would totally stay with Schuhchen again!

  • Our family decided to spend a weekend in Monroe, half of us came from Chicago and the other half from Minnesota. This was a the perfect weekend get away house. It blows you away it was so beautiful! On the main floor the 4 bedrooms all have their own bathrooms ensuite which was very nice. We had a couple sleep in the basement on the couch and air mattress. I would love to come back when it’s nicer out to take advantage of the property, volleyball and the outdoor kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked which made cooking easy. We absolutely loved our weekend and highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed!

  • Berger's Bungalow was a great place to stay. It has many conveniences, special touches and is exactly as described! The kitchen is new & fully stocked. We found ample linens, paper products & very clean throughout. The owners are helpful & respond quickly to questions. There is a large yard , ample parking & it is in a nice quiet neighborhood. If steps are a concern you need to know there are a half dozen to enter the residence & 2 of the beds are a flight of stairs down in basement level. Other than that it is a fine value which wr enjoyed & would definitely recommend!

  • My friend and I had a fun weekend out of the city planned and there couldn’t have been a better or more comfortable place for it! They had everything we would’ve needed there, especially in the kitchen which makes up for the fact it’s a little far out of town. It also felt completely private and safe, which we appreciated. Highly recommend!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Julie's place. Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The welcome basket left for us with local beers and snacks was a nice touch. It rained our first night and Julie was so thoughtful as to ask whether she could bring us dry kindling, since she knew we were hoping to have a campfire. We enjoyed the secluded location, which was still only 15 minutes away from groceries and shops. There were all the utensils we needed to cook meals, though I personally would have liked a regular coffee pot instead of a Keurig, so we could have a full pot of coffee, but the Keurig pods were provided, which was convenient. The pool table, TV and games kept us entertained. Overall, I would highly recommend Julie's place to anyone. We would definitely stay here again.

    Gianna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Easy to find and perfectly located for our travel plans. Huge open living space- kids loved the pool table! Sat outside under the porch our last morning next to the gas fire pit and watched deer grazing by the tree line. Stocked with everything you would need for a stay and has WiFi which many of our precious Air B&Bs have not had. Totally recommend!

    Heather2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Trulie Oaks was exceptionally clean and comfortable for a quick girls' getaway. Conveniently located near many popular WI attractions. Many cool amenities: Netflix, pool table, Galaga arcade game, fire pit, grill. Well stocked kitchen (appliances, spices, coffee, etc.) as well as thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket of beer, water, and snacks and bug spray for outdoor adventures! Stay here...you will have a truly great experience!

    Sadie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first visit through Airbnb and we were blown away! The home was exactly as described - plus some! We loved all the little touches like the arcade game, wine cooler, air mattresses, bag toss and firepit but our favorite touch was the welcome basket with a "Happy 1st anniversary" note in it. Our expectations were surpassed and we will definitely be back with friends &/or family!

In a quiet valley with rolling hills and a small trout stream. There is a full bedroom, full bathroom and an additional loft sleeping space. Some workshops and on farm experiences offered, be sure to ask. Thinking about staying more than one night? Ask about our pet policy prior to booking. ~Dorothy's Range
The cottage is 850 Sq Ft, has a full bedroom, an additional loft space, a kitchen, and a full bathroom. Bring proper clothing so you can take hikes and check out the 50 acres. Trout streams, cheese factories, breweries and lots of history around us. Lots of peace here. When my garden is full of delicious goodies, i share. Feel free to use our coolers, towels, area maps, binoculars, folding chairs, plant, cloud, and bird books...ask if you are in need of something. Give us a heads up let me know what your looking for. We have some rare birds here and an abundance of wildflowers and wild life. Most night we hear coyotes or owls in the distance and see the bats dance in the nights sky. No mosquitos here...TRUE. The fireflies start their show at dusk in June. Southwestern Wisconsin is abundant with beauty. There are restaurants that offer the traditional friday fish fries in Blanchardville and New Glarus as well as other towns around us. New Glarus offers history, shops, cheese, festivals, and the brewery. Monroe is nearby as well, offering Saturday Farmers Market, shopping on the square, and one of the olders brewerys in WI. Plenty of parks in this area: New Glarus woods, Yellowstone lake, Blue Mounds, and lovely trout streams too. Mineral Point, an old silver mining town, is a short drive away,
QUIET. Our neighbors are the birds, frogs and deer. We live here and there are two airbnb spaces.
  • Great stay! Quiet, serene, perfect for a little getaway from the city.

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance, son and 10 year old grandson stayed here for a overnite while exploring the area. April greeted us and showed us around the property. The pigs were so fun to watch and learn about. April left us farm fresh eggs and greens from the farm. Which ended up making a delicious breakfast. My grandson loved his own space in the loft. Without a TV, we were able to enjoy board games, puzzles and actual conversation. :) The farm has so many areas to take amazing photos. Lots of memories were made. We enjoyed our stay very much.

    Kathryn2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, calming place with amazing hosts.

    Natalie2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a weekend trip at the cottage and it was great. April greeted us and took us through a plant workshop of their land. We learned about medicinal properties and what was edible. The space was super cute - we were able to cook our meals there and have a bonfire during the nights. April and Steve we’re out and about on the land so if you have any questions they were there to answer them. They were beyond great hosts, showed us around and gave us all the tips for the local spots.

    Kaitlyn2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A genuine farm stay with genuine people! The area is so beautiful. A very welcome shift from urban living. April is so passionate about sustainable farming and living. Our conversations were a real treat. My 11-year-old loved our time there as well. We hope to return.

    Brenda2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This property is absolutely magical. There are flowers, birds, and butterflies everywhere. And don’t forget the friendly pigs! April and Steve were so kind explaining their work and all about the farm to us! We want to come back for every season. It was one of the most relaxing, beautiful weekends we have ever had. If you’re looking to have a peaceful escape, this place is perfect. New Glarus cheese shops and brewery are also very close and enjoyable too! Thank you again!

Want quiet solitude for peaceful relaxation surrounded by forest, flowers and birds? Want quick access to the best quiet sports, state parks, and cosmopolitan attractions in southern Wisconsin? Stay in your own apartment upstairs in our country home. And, now that we have added a Tiny House to the property, you can bring some friends for a total of 6 people (see separate listing and pics at the end of this one).
The perfect retreat for one or two couples (or three couples if you add the Still Point Tiny House - a separate listing). Note that we offer generous discounts on the Tiny House if you add it to your booking. Read to the bottom of this description to find out more. You will stay in the upstairs of our country home, an apartment offering a separate bedroom (with room for additional convertible sleeping in the living area or on the screened porch), ¾ bath, full featured kitchen, cozy dining area, small office area for writing, living area with comfortable seating, natural skylighting, woodstove, and all the comforts of the modern home (wifi, HDTV with multiple satellite stations and BlueRay DVD player as well as a BlueTooth enabled stereo sound system so you can bring your own music). Please note that the wifi is from satellite service that limits our monthly data, so extensive video streaming is not an option. However, you will have access to our DVR and the many movies and program recordings we have saved. You will enter via the private spiral stair to your own screen porch with room for dining, relaxing, or even sleeping in the comfy bed. A private bedroom with queen sized bed, two dressers, and a large closet will make you feel right at home. There is plenty of space for relaxing and dining at the breakfast bar or adjacent table with room for four. A small woodstove (and perhaps a trip to the sauna) will take the chill off any cool evening. There is a separate zoned thermostat to control central heat and air conditioning, as well as a whole house fan to refresh indoor air without the use of air conditioning. The kitchen has everything a cook needs: large refrigerator and freezer, gas cooktop and oven, large double sink, dishwasher, microwave, stainless steel cooking pots, wine rack, quality table ware, coffee maker and burr grinder, blender, slow cooker, cutting boards, good knives, napkins, placemats, plenty of storage space for groceries, and all the utensils you always wish you had on vacation. If you can't find it, we probably have it downstairs for you to use. We'll keep on hand some essentials like basic spices, cooking oil, etc. When we have excess in our veggie gardens, we will share with you. Also, at the bottom of the spiral stair is a gas grill. We even have a charcoal Weber if you prefer. The bathroom, like so many other parts of the property features handcrafted cabinetry by the owner. You will enjoy the custom built shower. But, if the weather is not freezing, you must experience the outdoor shower adjacent to the beautiful gardens and tucked off the deck for privacy (signaled with a flag system) Centered on our 9 wooded acres, you overlook a large deck and fire circle (dry wood available at low cost for evening campfires) surrounded by our extensive flower and veggie gardens. There are two short trails through the property, perfect for enjoying nature close up. Whether you come for the outdoor activities (bicycling, birding, hiking, cross country skiing, river paddling, and many other nature experiences) or you just want to melt the stress away in quiet solitude reading a good book in an idyllic setting, you are just a short drive away from the cosmopolitan attractions (fine dining and entertainment) offered in nearby Madison and other smaller urban communities. Note that you will stay on the second floor of our country home and have private entry access through an outdoor spiral stair with an emergency exit through the interior stairway. The two house levels are separated by a (secret) door at the bottom of those stairs leading to our main kitchen and laundry area. Guests are welcome to use the laundry by making arrangements with us. Although there can be minor sound transmission between floors, rest assured that your privacy will be respected. Having said that, while using the deck, fire circle, and grill, it would be impossible for our particular worlds not to cross. We feel that our guests become part of our household. We enjoy interacting as much or as little as desired. Please note about weekend pricing, which does not show up on the opening view of our listing, although it is shown on the calendar. The weekend rate is $200/night for Friday and Saturday, with a 2 night minimum. Each additional guest (beyond 2) will be charged $25/night for any night of the week. If you also rent the Still Point Tiny House (see separate listing), we offer a 25% discount for it. That makes it more affordable to bring friends and provides a third bed, as well as its own private bathroom. And if you decide you want to come, but prefer to have exclusive privacy for your party alone, we will discount the Tiny House 50% (assuming you don't use it) and will block it from other renters. Yes, you do pay a bit more for that privacy. You may also find us by searching the Web with our name, Still Point Country Retreat. Basically the same info, but we think prettier. We want to book exclusively through Airbnb because there is insurance that protects both parties. There is a link on our website directly to this listing.
Although we are located very close to Madison and other urban areas, we live in one of the most rural townships in southern Wisconsin. Known for its lush dairy and cropping farms, we are surrounded by working farms, woods, and quiet roads that invite walking, jogging, and bicycling.
  • This trip marked my third trip to Stillpoint- I think it is fair to say I love the place. I always take a day trip and this time I went to Cave of the Mounds and Mt. Horeb.

  • Kathi & Joe’s place is better than the pictures! Spacious and naturally lit, with nature all around, it’s a absolutely gorgeous and relaxing place to stay. We absolutely loved our fall stay.

    Marny2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The space and the setting were both beautiful and Kathi and Joe were incredibly kind and accommodating. We can’t wait to go back!

    Mark2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at this incredible country retreat! The drive there meanders betweens beautifully manicured farms & pastoral settings; and after a winding climb to the house, you’ll be enamored by it’s storybook beauty. The main house, and the tiny guest retreat are surrounded by gardens full of birds & butterflies, and there’s plenty of seating areas to escape into all of it. It’s a place of peace and beauty and stillness. Bring your books & a journal! The second floor screened porch is a fav and overlooks all of it! And while you’re there, you must drive the six miles to the Swiss village of New Glarus, and eat at The Cow & Quince. Completely charming!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay! Hosts are friendly, responsive, and amazingly thoughtful. Space is clean and welcoming. Great screened in porch with a bed - great night's sleep there. Awesome outdoor shower - that is very private - but allows one to soak in the sky and the beautiful surroundings. Close to New Glarus. Close to Madison. Close to a Frank Lloyd Wright tour. We have been back twice.

    Julie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Warm hospitality in a beautiful and well appointed space--set in the rolling hills of southern Wisconsin, you will love your stay here. We did!

  • One word: RELAXING! We had a great stay at Kathi & Joe’s. Their apartment is very comfy and has everything you need for a great stay. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and perfect for lounging around. Especially the treehouse and the bed in the upstairs screened in porch. Joe even started a fire so that we could make s’mores for the kids.

Small town pace, I built for myself as a Chicago getaway. Fun constantly changing space. When I find something cool I'll grab it for the space. So the furniture and other items of interest are always changing.
Part of a former hardware store now a one of a kind loft getaway. I converted this space for a weekend getaway for myself. I tried to be as green as possible by recycling and re purposing building materials. A big 1980s bar, 1950s Metal kitchen, 1930s Ben Hur freezer converted to an island stove plus mostly recycled door, windows, light and bath fixtures. 1500 total square feet. The main area is appx. 1000 sq ft with 12 foot ceilings. The executive suite has a queen size bed and there are the Pullman Junior suites, They are 60 and 70 sq ft sleeping alcoves. I have some old bicycles available so you can ride the trails. I am on the doorstep of SW Wisconsin adventures. A few blocks away you can get on a bike trail nework with over 200 miles of trails, the Sugar River is across the street for tubing fishing or canoe/kayaks. The Swiss town of New Glarus and its acclaimed brewery are 20 minutes away. The Driftless area has some of the best motorcycling roads in the central Midwest. Historic Mineral Point, House on the Rock, Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin and many other activities and attractions are an easy drive. In the winter hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails are at the door. For some culture you are 30 miles south of the wonderful college town and state captial of Madison. Small town, get away from it all. Limited cell service with some carriers. 3 bars, two diners, a pizza place open 5 to 8 a few nights, small bowling alley, a mini-mart and Dollar Store on the edge of town. Full markets in Broadhead or Monticello
Small town America, you are in the heart of downtown, but it's only 1 block long. Pizza place, ice cream shop, a diner, 3 taverns, bowling alley on a tubing place are on the block. The only Internet in town is slow just like the town.
  • Go visit Center Tap-cute Main Street and lots of space!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mark's place! What a fun and unique apartment in the center of a wonderful small town! The vintage decor was so cool and you can't beat being 2 doors down from the Center bar!

  • The loft style space was clean and would heat quickly. All the kitchen, bath and bed amenities were solid. I found the atmosphere homey and very relaxing. While a business professional may need a copier and other services, I found it met 95% of my professional and personal needs, which I was willing to sacrifice for the comfort, bedrooms and full kitchen. The neighbors upstairs were almost never heard and although they have a dog, it seldom barked. None of the previous reviews’ problems were found by me.

  • Great place for great value. Be sure to check out Center Tavern for some tasty burgers and beers. This was our second time staying here and probably won’t be the last. 👍

  • GREAT LITTLE PLACE TO STAY FOR A NIGHT OR TWO. WALKING DISTANCE TO RESTAURANTS/CAFES. VERY CLEAN SPACE

  • This is a very nice stay right in the downtown of Brodhead. Easy access to the building and rooms via a keycode, which is always much nicer than a lockbox. It's like a miniature hotel, with a handful of rooms sharing the same main entrance. Despite that, they all have private bathrooms, and I never saw anyone else there. Would definitely recommend, it's definitely worth the affordable price.

    Michael2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel is lovely, we enjoyed our overnight stay. Brodhead is a pretty town with old buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are some friendly bars and a great breakfast spot down the block. I recommend a visit!

Welcome! You are about to experience life on an active 4th-generation Brown Swiss dairy farm nestled in the rolling hills of Green County. Take as much of a hands-on approach as you would like. Feed a baby calf, milk a cow, or just enjoy the relaxing and peaceful serenity of rural Wisconsin farm life. Located less than five miles from Monroe, this home away from home is close enough to all that Monroe & the surrounding community has to offer, but still has room to stretch your legs.
This space is fully licensed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Privacy, space to relax, activities to participate in, room to run around - whatever it is you are looking for, it's here. The home has several reading nooks, plenty of space to play games or work on a puzzle, and several options for outdoor seating. Feel like having a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up and the countryside awaken? Relax on the cozy front porch. Feel like grabbing an afternoon glass of wine & local cheeses to watch the sun go down and the evening colors come alive? Take in the view alone, or spread out with a group on the spacious upper balcony - we'll even help you get the cheese. Sleeping arrangements include one master bedroom loft with one queen bed and twin trundle, and three additional bedrooms; with the couch in the common area included, figure ample sleeping room for up to 11 guests. Bathrooms include a main-level bathroom centrally located with toilet, shower/tub combo, and more than enough towels to go around, as well as a private bathroom with shower attached to the upper master bedroom loft. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen and dining room, with generous grocery and restaurant options less than a 10-minute drive into town. In fact, there are a couple restaurants that even deliver to the farm! For nights in, enjoy a large family room with streamable TV/entertainment center. Our WiFi is excellent; stream what you want to watch, or borrow a DVD from our collection. The tile floor is heated for ultimate comfort, and a functional fireplace made from field stones we picked from the farm adds the ultimate touch. We'll even make sure there is firewood ready to go. Outside there is plenty of room to run around. Go ahead, burn those calories - or stock up on them by roasting s'mores over an open fire underneath a starlit sky. Some of our nights are clear enough to see the Milky Way. If outdoor barbecuing is more your thing, there is a grill plus accessories in the garage, ready to go. We'll even make sure there is plenty of gas and firewood on hand. While you're grilling, the kids can play with the toys in the garage. If you are a larger group, no sweat - there is plenty of room for multiple cars. Come and experience for yourself this integral, yet familiar slice of our local heritage! Hope to see you soon.
The Dairy is located approximately three miles outside of Monroe in the rolling hills of Green County. We are easily accessible; the farm is situated towards the end of a quiet country road, less than two miles off Highway 11/81 . If you're looking for an authentic reprieve at the doorstep of a truly wonderful community, we can't wait to have you here! The Dairy is less than a ten-minute drive into the heart of Monroe where you will find a generous variety of unique shops, world-class restaurants, and delightful stores. We have some of the best beer and cheese around, with an ever-changing variety of live music. There are parks to explore, trails to hike or bike, and plenty of options for your soul, too - take in a yoga class, try reiki or book a massage, and definitely check out the Monroe Arts Center, which boasts an ever-changing variety of music, culture, art exhibits, and live performances. Catch a live show at the Monroe Theatre Guild, and tour the countryside - there are wineries, breweries, cheese factories, and more than enough local culture to fill an extended stay.
  • This was exactly the place we were looking for. 3 families with 4 little kids in tow, and we found a wonderful host, house, and experience. It is as advertised - a working dairy farm where the cows are just outside your door. We will be back!

  • What a great experience for our New Year celebration with our friends. We've been a lot of places in our 30 years of traveling together, and who knew we just needed to visit our local area for such a great stay. The house was a friendly and comfortable place for 8 "seniors" to gather in. When I choose a place for the group I usually go for one that has the best gathering space, and with the fireplace and comfortable seating this one ticked all the boxes. The unexpected delight was the birth of a new baby Brown Swiss that we were allowed to name. Her name is Melody, and say hello to her when you visit. It was a delight talking to Dan and Ashley about their vision for the farm. They are off to a terrific start.

    Kate2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing. We were looking for a place for family from Minnesota and Indiana to meet for our Christmas. The original plan was Wisconsin Dells but we decided to try this place instead and we are all glad we did. Dan and Ashley are just awesome. My daughter fell in love with Zoe and Leo. We really enjoyed listening to Dan talk about the background and future vision of the farm and he was more than happy to take all the time needed to answer the many questions we had. Excellent communication from both Dan and Ashley before and during our stay. The morning of our departure, we all agreed that we need to try and make Wegmueller Farm Stay a yearly event for our families.

    Chuck2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a dream vacation! We had two families staying at the farm house and had such a wonderful time! There was plenty of space for everyone the house was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully updated. We had amazing experiences on the farm including a farm tour from Dan, feeding baby calves (one had been born our first day there and we got to name it), helping the milk the older cows, meeting the horses and donkeys and more! There is also plenty to do in the town hiking, shopping, tours and tasting of lots of beverages, cheese tours. We would recommend this airbnb to anyone going to Wisconsin or looking to get away. We decided to come back next year for sure!

    Melissa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Dan & Ashley’s place, The Dairy at the Wegmueller Farm, was spectacular. Upon arrival the view of the farm was breathtaking. We were delighted to have kind words and treats authentic to Wisconsin nicely arranged in a basket on the counter. Dan & Ashley took us on a tour of the farm. Bottle feeding the calves, milking Frankie and learning the history of the land made us feel apart of the farm. My desire to enjoy prepared food led to an awesome breakfast and dinner with instructions to go from the oven to the table. My life these days is quite busy. Thank you Dan and Ashley for allowing me to slowdown and enjoy everything your farm retreat as to offer.. ❤️

    Nekaya2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This farm is by far the best stay I've had! As a lover of animals, it was such a lovely experience seeing and interacting with the cows, dogs, and cat. My teammates and I even got to milk a cow and bottle feed the calves! Dan and Ashley are so welcoming and truly have a special place to share.

    Selah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a special place. We were greeted by Zoe (one of the two dogs) and a few welcoming barks from Bruno. The home was clean and well stocked including some refrigerated items like condiments, and there was a thoughtful welcome basket with some local products for us to try and enjoy. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us and then some. Our favorite part was learning about the dairy farm. Dan and Ashley and their intern gave us a tour of the farm and took time to answer all of our questions. They are great with guests of all ages (our ages ranged from 2 to 85.) Their farm really is a labor of love and we will recommend this to friends and hope to make return visits ourselves.

  • TL; DR: Bring everyone you know here for a weekend of relaxation, hospitality, and education that's a once-in-a-lifetime experience! To be honest, my parents are farm people; I am not--or so I thought. I reserved the Dairy at Wegmeuller after a neighbor recommended it as a gift to my country-loving parents, with the expectation that my young kids would get a kick out of farm life while I merely survived. AND I AM FOREVER CHANGED. Ashley and Dan were extremely communicative during the booking and preparation stages, and upon doing some homework, I learned that Monroe is a short drive (just over 2 hours ) from Chicago and a totally different area than our over-explored Milwaukee. In fact, it's just 25 minutes from New Glarus, home of charming Swiss stuff galore and, yes, New Glarus Brewing--maker of Spotted Cow. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the cleanliness of the house and the uber-thoughtful (and tasty) local treats our hosts left. The amount of bath products and towels bordered on insane, and the mattress in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I've slept in forever. But enough about the house; let's talk about the FARM. Oh. My. Dairy. Ashley and Dan are kind, savvy, brilliant business owners who walked me and my family (ages 4 to 71) through their business, allowing us to hand-milk cows, assist with calf feeding, and explaining the industry's many challenges and rewards. It was truly an honor to spend time with them on their family grounds and get to partake in the farm's activities--they even met us (again) on Labor Day to let my kids milk the cows instead of taking a rare morning off. Their commitment to quality and education is something to be commended, and I am so glad that I am my children got to witness it first-hand. Let me tell you, I will NEVER purchase dairy products the same way again, and I cannot wait to return in the near future. I am so appreciative to have met such incredible people doing such incredible work in the most gorgeous setting. Also, my kids have been afraid of dogs foverer, but Zoe and Bruno the Farm Dogs cured them forever, and now we might have to get one. Or maybe suburb cow, if that's a thing?

  • The Bungalow was a really pleasant stay. In a very nice neighborhood and near a really large park. Decor was very well done, and thoughtful. Courteous service generously offered right on que. Two comfortable beds to choose from, really nice closet space. Comfy furniture in every room. The parking up to the side of the house on the alley was perfect, my car fit there nicely. Nice tableware, utensils & appliances furnished as nice as I would have at my own house.

Our little piece of New Glarus history is now your home away from home! With room to sleep 6, come with a group and save some money versus hotel options. Get extra comfortable in our clean and cozy three bedroom two bathroom charmer! Bonus- We are only 2 blocks from downtown! Close enough to walk, yet far enough to get away from the chaos of summer festivals and live music events. We are also only blocks from the Sugar River Trail, and the snowmobiling trail.
We remodeled this historic home just for you! We carefully tried to maintain the charm from the homes original character while bringing it up to modern standards so that it feels simultaneously old and new. The bedrooms are located on the second story, and the original stairs are a bit steep; there is a full bath on the first story in case someone in your party has mobility issues. If you are traveling with children let me know; I go above and beyond to make staying comfortable for families with kiddos and have a lot of extras that I can provide to make trips easier on mom/dad.
You are only blocks from downtown which has many shops and restaurants that are easy to walk to. The Sugar River trail is also only steps away. The New Glarus Woods and the famous New Glarus Brewery are a short drive away. When coming up for the weekend consider coming Friday and leaving Sunday; much of town is closed Sunday and Monday.
  • House was very cute, clean and spacious. All updated and our needs were met. Good location to walk to shopping district, I would recommend to anyone planning a stay in New Glarus!

Check-in was super easy, too! Thanks for a great experience, Laura! I hope to be back soon.

Newly renovated, 3-bedroom vacation home located on the Sugar River in downtown Albany. Albany is a quaint little town with a lot to offer. Enjoy tubing/canoeing down the river, a diner, pizza place, Italian restaurant, 3 taverns, and a bowling alley all within the downtown block. With being only 30 miles away from Madison and 17 miles from New Glarus, Albany is a prime location for your stay!
This space is an updated storefront building located right on the main street in downtown Albany.
  • A very comfortable and well planned space. Love how it was decorated for Christmas! It gave a very festive feel. Thanks for the extra touches.

    Judith2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Sugar River behind the apartment is a Bonus. The Hideaway is just that, a hideaway, disguised from the street as a dark storefront, but a stylish apartment awaits within. The space is super versatile, with three bedrooms, nicely separated from each other so individuals could easily retreat when they felt a nap coming on. In addition, there’s a comfy leather sectional couch, a fold-out futon near the view of the river to the back, and a couple of air mattresses. We used all three bedrooms and the occasional couch, and everyone was cozy and comfortable (though the rooms in the back of the house do run a little chilly in the wintertime). The full kitchen, though a little tight, had pretty much everything we needed in a well thought out layout. All full sized appliances worked beautifully and are in near new condition. All we had to bring were some larger pots, a roasting pan and a couple of serving pieces to cook and serve our thanksgiving dinner. We could not have pulled this gathering off in most other short term rental apartments. This was a great experience and one of the nicest AirBnB I’ve stayed in. Best of all, we didn’t have to leave our dogs behind. (They’re well behaved so there was no fear of damage.) The kitchen has plates and utensils for 5, which we supplemented with a few more platters and cooking supplies. For normal meals, what was supplied would have worked just fine. Dish TV was great for the occasional movie, a table and four chairs in the dining area large enough for sit-down dinners, and the sectional with coffee table worked for board games. There were plenty of towels, blankets, linens, pillows and spare shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We would definitely stay again. Looking forward to trying this place in the summertime, when you can kayak down the river, with the canoe livery half a block away— too cold to open in November but looks like so much fun in the warmer weather!! Just looking at the river from the large sliding glass door was relaxing. Checkin and leaving the keys where we found them upon checkout was easy as pie. There were even a few beer tokens left for us for the bar/restaurant next door, but we were so busy cooking and visiting we really didn’t have time to check it out.

    Cathy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in a small town. Really nice inside.

    Judith2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I love the name of Tanya's place, the Sugar River Hideaway. It is exactly that because you'd never know what a cool Airbnb is beyond the doors of what you see from outside. It's a very stylish, chic space and the view of the dam from the deck is one of the highlights of this place. I would totally recommend this as a great place to stay if you're in the area. There's a restaurant next door and we went and spent the day at New Glarus and checked out the wineries and the brewery. We had a great time!

    Merrilee2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing little Gem. Clean and comfortable with great views on the back patio in a sweet town full of wonderful people. Responses were quick and check-in was super easy. Lots of towels, pillows and a fully stocked kitchen. Close to New Glarus and other great spots for local beer, wine, spirits and CHEESE! We can’t wait to stay here again and visit with our new friends in lovely Albany.

    Erin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute place! We enjoyed our stay at Tanya’s place even more than we expected. If you are looking to stay in Albany, this is the Airbnb to choose! It’s a short drive to New Glarus to the brewery and nice restaurant options. We did try Gabriella’s Restaurant right in Albany which was also good. The bar “Dam Near Home” right next to Tanya’s place is a great place to have a beer and some cheese curds. Thanks Tanya for being pet friendly, and for providing such an adorable space!!

Right by the park and all the shopping and restaurants. Most of the festivals are within a block away.
  • Lovely place to stay with a great location. Incredibly clean.

  • Great location downtown New Glarus. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The hosts are great and were very responsive. The apartment was ready for us as described and was very clean. The hosts even left us a few drinks and some snacks which was a very nice touch. One small critique - the walls are a little "thin". You can hear some music at night from the bar next door and some ambient noise from the neighboring apartment. It's really not a big deal and would not be a deal breaker for me, but it was noticeable. Overall - great stay, I would definitely stay here again.

  • Awesome location within walking distance to most local attractions. The New Glarus Brewery and Baileys Run Vineyard were just a mile or two out of town. Has a private parking space off the street and an adorable space inside! The fridge had some local beers and waters and there were some snack size bags of chips on the table for us-a sweet surprise and awesome for when we got back to the room late at night!

  • Great location in downtown New Glarus. Very comfortable apartment with all amenities, nicely updated, also a dedicated off street parking spot. Even with water and local beers in fridge on out arrival!

  • The location was wonderful! Directions were very helpful and thorough and check-in was a breeze. We had a wonderful stay. While there is wifi, it is not super fast. We had difficulty streaming Netflix in the evening via the Roku. The shower has great water pressure but is a little small and awkward with where the doors are. Overall, I would recommend - it's perfect for a weekend getaway!
