Nested in the valley with a little winter stream we welcome you to relax at our semi-rural property. Beautiful in all seasons, wake peacefully to bird songs and frogs croaking, watch the majestic gum trees from your bed, take a walk through the garden or simply relax and read a book. Discover the Australian wildlife (a family of kangaroos, possums and beautiful birdlife) or watch our neighbour’s sheep graze in the paddock. Great for solo travellers, couples, to families with small children.
Enter though your private ground level entrance to a one bedroom granny flat featuring a pot belly stove for colder days, reverse circle air-con, a comfy queen bed, and a bath. It has a kitchenette with some essentials provided. A barbeque can be used upon request. We can also provide a travel bed, high chair and some toys for babies/ toddlers. There are pets and live stock at our property.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Nadine's. It's location is excellent, very peaceful and quiet and with a small creek only several metres from the private verandah area. The living area was very private, with seperate bedroom and bathroom, and was very rustic yet clean and comfortable. We would love to stay a little longer here another time!

Well done, a property well worth staying at to explore the Adelaide Hills.

Our hosts supplied an amazing wine & cheese platter and chocolate, nibbles & breakfast food. A home away from home. We would highly recommend this property.

  • We had an AMAZING stay at Veronica's place and was well and truly one of our favourite AirBnb's! Her studio is very spacious and has everything you will need for an enjoyable stay. The furniture, fittings, bathroom etc are all of the highest quality and makes you feel like you are staying somewhere of real luxury. The garden is nothing short of beautiful and is very nice to sit in with a book and a glass of wine. Not to mention, the cheese platter and breakfast that was provided was delicious and lots of food! We will definitely be back and recommend anyone travelling to the Adelaide Hills to stay at Veronica's. Heck, even if you're not planning to travel here, make the exception because it is well and truly worth it!!

  • We loved our short stay at Bernard and Sue’s. The accommodation is excellent, it is so clean with many extra touches and the provisions were plentiful! The place is so relaxing and in a beautiful setting, we loved the alpacas. Bernard and Sue gave us many suggestions for places to visit, sharing their extensive local knowledge, they are great hosts.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Bernard and Sue’s alpaca farm! They were amazing hosts, and showed us a great time with the alpacas. The alpacas were super cute and a lot of fun. The accommodation was spotless, with a lot of thoughtful touches like breakfast, snacks and even a white wine! Highly recommend and we’ll be back for sure!

    Tuan Hung2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at a few places while travelling through Kangaroo Island and south of Adelaide and I have to say most of them were above expectation, but this one was extra "warm and fuzzy". Travelling with an 11-month old you really appreciate the extra touches that show your host really wants you to be comfortable and that's what we got here. It's amazingly clean considering you're at a farm. The deck in the back is lovely and there's even a little playground. Plan your days a bit in advance so you're out doing stuff in the hotter parts of the day because there's not much shade on the property (unless you just want to enjoy the deck, which is also very relaxing with nice view, but with a baby it only lasts so long.. sigh). Overall loved our stay and would recommend to anyone, baby or no!

This lovely home provides a private separate living room with facilities for light meals, a bathroom and 2 separate bedrooms - and separate access from the main house. It is secluded with extensive country views. Close to restaurants, cafes, wineries, family-friendly activities and wildlife. You’ll love it because of the landscape, farm animals and its beautiful Adelaide Hills location.
  • Beautiful surroundings, close enough to tourist spots, far enough for peace and quiet.

    Linda2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous stay! Very clean and lots of lovely little touches that makes it feel so homely. We were a couple that stayed 2 nights as had a wedding in Loebethal. Easily positioned a short drive from Handorf and much much cheaper. The unit is attached to the main house with your own seperate entrance and a balcony that overlooks the garden and property. It has a spacious lounge, dining area, kitchenette with everything you could need including milk, butter, bread, cereals, and plenty of snacks! The property itself is beautiful with a mini vineyard, lamas, cows, goats and 3 cute dogs. Sandra was an excellent host, responds very quickly, showed us round and left us to our own devices. Highly recommend this place if you want to feel like living like a local and enjoying a country escape. Location is also a short drive to Woodside, which has an IGA, pharmacy and a bunch of other shops and cafes. If you’re looking for one of the best breakfasts in Australia you must try Avalon of Woodside. Sensational food, lovely setting and excellent service. Thanks so much for having us Sandra!

    Nicole2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place is situated at the top of a hill giving fantastic views over the country side. It has wide verandahs where comfortable seats enable relaxing & enjoying the scenic panorama. The accommodation space is large and comfortable. Sandra offers a huge variety of breakfast provisions as well as snacks to enjoy during your stay. The gardens are beautiful and Sandra does an amazing job tending them. It is close to the Adelaide Hills wineries and also other activities nearby. We enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend it.

    Patricia2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on Sandra’s property. Nice quiet location, super clean, beautiful surroundings. Sandra has goats, alpacas, cows and dogs. Was great for our two year old to be able to explore the property and see the animals

    Melanie2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very quiet surroundings

    Cheryl 2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy lives, a friend and I escaped to the country for 2 nights and were enchanted with the peacefulness that surrounded us at Sandra's place. From every window we had views of the gardens, the paddocks, the friendly goats, the flowers, the birds - nature so close. Sandra has well stocked the kitchen for breakfast choices. We loved being at Castle Hill so much we chose to eat in both evenings, enjoying wine and a grazing platter we made up and having a Retreat from everyday life.

    Deborah2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A really relaxing and local experience in the Adelaide Hills. Thoughtful little touches and super comfortable room and living space within striking distance of wineries and many lovely towns. Fantastic stay

    Tom2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what the listing says. You have a guest suite attached, which is attached to Sandra's home. There is a small kitchenette for basic cooking which Sandra keeps very, very well stocked. The area around the place is pleasant - nice views and ambience.

Settle back on the chairs in the beautiful garden of this historic building. Built in 1896 as the Blakiston Cheese Factory, this creamery has retained its rustic charm with original beams, exposed stone walls, and high ceilings alongside modern art.
Exposed stone walls, a combustion fire and original timber beams mean the property retains its original rustic charm, while modern furnishings, stunning artworks, new bathrooms and a charming country-style kitchen ensure guests have all the comforts and convenience of modern life. Beautifully appointed bedrooms with the luxury of 100% linen sheets mean you’ll be well-rested for your exploration of the surrounding Hills area.
The house is in beautiful surroundings in Blakiston with Howards Winery and The Lane Vineyard minutes away by car. The historic hill towns of Hahndorft have boutique breweries, gin distilleries, chocolate makers, galleries, design shops, and cafes.
  • Charming farmhouse stay in Adelaide Hills. Peter’s place is magnificent- from the art work to the grounds, the bed linen and huge kitchen. It’s perfect for families and groups, close to the wineries and a quick drive from Adelaide. We had a wonderful time. Make note that it’s close to the highway so if you’re noise sensitive it might be bothersome. And because the building is historic you’ll be sharing the space with a certain number of bugs and spiders.

    Tahnee2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Creamery is a beautiful place: spacious, stylish, well set up and equipped with all you could need. It made for a wonderful setting for our family Christmas. The old stone building is charming, surrounded by a lovely garden. (There is a little bit of noise from passing traffic, but that did not really detract from the setting.) The house has been thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, with many interesting pieces of restored furniture. Everything was of the highest quality. It was a delight to cook in the big kitchen and then savour our meals at the long refectory table. Communication was very easy and Peter accommodated our request for a late check out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Hilary2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and it was beyond words. Perfect location, stunning gardens and the house is so beautiful and comfortable. The beds in particular felt like sleeping on a cloud! Couldn’t have asked for more. And the gardens!! Incredible.

    Anna2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We used the Creamery as a base for our wedding party over the long weekend. Absolutely nothing to fault, and exceeded all expectations - whether for pre-wedding photos in full spring bloom, the stylishly decorated interior space, or the owners flexibility letting us host a small brunch in their home. With a mix of weather over the weekend we loved sitting out on a picnic rug in the sunshine with a glass of bubbles but found just as much enjoyment sitting by the fire inside. Everyone was amazed by the location, and we've decided we need to start a tradition and come back every year! Thank you again Peter for a magical stay.

    Christopher2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Blakiston Creamery has everything! From the moment you walk in you are captivated by the charm of the old stone building and instantly feel at home with the style of the modern decor. The lawns and surrounding gardens are beautifully maintain with plenty of space for a group or family gathering. Peter the owner met us at the property to show us about and was always easily contactable during the booking process. It was the perfect place to explore the wonders of the Adelaide Hills. We will be back for sure. Thank you Peter

    Jenny2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • magical place , with beautiful park-like grounds and very special, spacious, soulful house you will never want to leave...

    Anna2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? Everything about this stay was wonderful - and by far the most impressive and unique Airbnb we have ever stayed in. This old Cheese Factory building, the ‘Creamery’ has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind home, filled with thoughtful touches and quality amenities. From the luxurious linen sheets and hand wash, to the ready to stoke fire place, to the local produce, coffee and wine that was left out for us upon arrival! Peter welcomed us when we checked-in and ran over the finer details about the house, which made everything smooth sailing. We were a group of 6 (3 couples) and you could easily fit another couple or some kids in the set of king singles that we didn’t touch. After our days out exploring the Hills and Hahndorf, we spent time enjoying our incredible wine, cheese, chocolates, whiskey, gin and local produce - and the art pieces scattered around the house made it like no other experience. The spacious layout makes for a very relaxed and comfortable chilled vibe for a big group. This family is clearly very clever, talented and creative. Thank you for having us Peter and Co. We would highly recommend this home if you want a 5 star unique experience, while also enjoying the simple things in life! The Adelaide Hills won’t disappoint - it’s still one of my favourite regions in the world. Love, Teagan.

Mt Barker is a town of about 30,000 people located in the Adelaide hills, accessed by a free-way about half an hour from the centre of Adelaide. This location is ideal for guests coming from the eastern states who don't wish to tackle the traffic of Adelaide at the end of a days drive. All facilities are here including all main banks and supermarket chains, Harvey Norman, Spotlight, K Mart, BCF, Government departments inc 'Centrelink' and numerous speciality shops, cafes and restaurants plus the heritage listed Auchendarroch function centre and Wallis multi screen cinema complex. Mt Barker is also home to 'Steamranger'....the steam railway preservation society with currently 4 steam locomotives, carriages and a dozen diesel locomotives and railcars. Regular full day steam rail trips are offered from Mt Barker to the Fluerieu Peninsular (climate permitting). Being a cool climate wine producing area many vineyards are within a few Kms of Mt Barker all offering tastings and some with restaurant facilities. The famous German hills tourist town of Hahndorf is 5 Kms from Mt Barker

Come and get away from the city in to this country retreat. Experience the beauty and quiet of this Stone Cottage. Originally built as one of the first buildings of the small township of Dawesley - it served as the office to an Old Copper smelter. Rich with culture and history it is now a quiet retreat for you to recharge your batteries. Only a 20 Minute drive to Hahndorf & Woodside it has endless opportunities for beautiful lunches and lazy afternoons.
We have renovated this old stone cottage to be the perfect couples retreat. Lots of eateries and wineries in the area will be the backdrop to beautiful lazy lunches. On the property you can relax with the animals, we have sheep - chickens - cows and horses on site. Not to forget the many wild native animals you will also be able to see.
The cottage is conveniently located on a corner of our 40 acre property, walking trails and stunning views are all here as are all the farm animals to meet and cuddle. We live on site, merely 50 metres away but conveniently facing opposite directions. Lots of quirky shops and cafe's less than 5 minutes drive.

  • We had a wonderful stay! We enjoying the stylish, clean and romantic fit out and loved exploring the beautiful surroundings and meeting their pet chickens, dogs and sheep. It is ideally located very close to a bunch of awesome wineries and picturesque Hanhdorf. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!!!

    Natalie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage is a lovely, welcoming space in an ideal setting for just cutting off and relaxing. The property is beautiful and had plenty of things to watch and admire - I saw lots of bird life, plus the farm animals were gorgeous and friendly too. Milos and his partner were very hospitable and kept communication open during my stay to make sure I was happy with everything. I’d recommend his place to anyone wanting a base for Adelaide Hills exploration or as a secluded place to cutoff for a while.

    Lexi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best experience staying here. The aesthetic was beautiful and every piece was thoughtful and creative. A lovely venue for a romantic getaway! And lots of areas to explore on the property including the animals!!

    Sasha2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a weekend getaway! The renovated cottage is stunning, the bed is super comfy and I appreciated all the thoughtful touches Milos and Maddie put in to make it even better. Loved the chance to meet all the animals as well. Thoroughly recommend! :)

  • A Serene & tranquil well appointed master bedroom with bathroom & leafy courtyard setting. Host Kerrie was friendly warm & welcoming & makes an awesome barista coffee in the morning. Great place to stay & highly recommend.

    Leanne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place as beautiful as it is clean. Kerrie is attentive and makes a great deal out of the stay. Thank you again for the corner of paradise towards the bbq. Our stay was perfect

    Mika2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely and peaceful stay.

    Mark2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Booked a stay for my in-laws, they love the night away apart from they found it weird not having a tv in the room. Thanks for being an amazing host Kerrie, will definitely recommend to other people 😊

    Macayla2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a short getaway with Kerrie's beautiful place as our base. The suite forms part of Kerrie's house with a lockable inner door and private access via a lush green courtyard to the side. It has everything needed for a quiet escape, and we loved the little extra touches. Lots of great cafes and farmers market in Mt Barker to explore.

    Mel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie's place is a compact annexe off the main house with its own gate and entry. There is a bed/sitting room space with a modern ensuite bathroom and small kitchenette fine for coffee, snacks and breakfast. Kerrie generously provides quality bathroom and kitchen staples. The area is very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Two minute drive or 10 minute walk into the town centre & shops. The place is outstanding value for a couple as Adelaide Hills accommodation is relatively expensive. Not a large space but a comfortable one. Kerrie is a friendly, knowledgeable host.

    Mary2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kerrie is a wonderful host looked after us and made sure that we are comfortable and happy we loved chatting to her we will defenitly visit again

    George2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Kerrie's place. A brilliant home away from home feeling. Kerrie's suggestions about what to see during my stay were spot on and a great help.

“Wonderful to arrive here to such a welcoming B&B. Lovelly stay - we’ll be back” Aida and Doug, Victoria. Hosted bed and breakfast in the Adelaide Hills at The Jonathan Art Centre. Hahndorf 15mins CBD 45mins
Come and experience peace and tranquility you wouldn't think was possible just 45 minutes from Adelaide CBD. "Home from home - with a touch of luxury" - guest review. What was once Liz's studio has been converted into a cosy self contained cabin in the grounds of Jarramarrumba House. Take a seat on your own private terrace under the shade of the vine while you gaze at the view and enjoy your complimentary platter of local wine, and cheeses. Your room also includes luxury bath robes, and free Wi-Fi. Peace, tranquility with views to the far hills and Lake Alexandrina some 60km away - you can't help but relax. The Studio has an ensuite shower room and small lounge area. Your breakfast is prepared for you and there are host of superb restaurants just a few minutes drive from us. There is a fully equipped kitchen with stove, cooktop, fridge and microwave. Jarramarrumba is the Peramangk people's word for 'this is a good place'. We are sure you will agree. Even your breakfast is cooked for you. Liz will prepare what our guests tell us is the 'best brekkie in the hills' for you to enjoy in our new gallery cafe or while taking in the view from the deck. The Studio is so much more than just a bed for the night. You are welcome to explore our 40 acres or just take in the view from the veranda. Watch the wedge tail eagles soar above you. Then at night, marvel at the billions of stars stretching over head from horizon to horizon. Jarramarrumba house is our home so we are always on hand if you need advice on the best places to eat, drink or visit. Be inspired by the natural beauty of the Adelaide Hills. We can point you to the best walks, hidden gems and best kept secrets that only the locals know about.

Welcome to Koalaville, in Bridgewater: beautiful in all seasons Wake peacefully to birdsong amongst the trees overlooking the little valley. Open the triangle windows of your small but modern, bright, clean studio room and smell the fresh breeze. Sit outside in the sunshine on a picnic blanket & relax with a book. Talk to our chooks or catch sight of a friendly possum or koala. Explore the gorgeous hills, nearby wineries & Germantown, Hahndorf. Netflix, snuggly electric blankets, aircon.
Need a sweet little tree change amongst nature and wineries? |•The Area•| The Forest Apartment at Bridgewater- nestled between leafy Aldgate and the famous sparkly German town, Hahndorf, is a delight in all seasons: Cooler in summer with an afternoon cool gully breeze that entices you to throw open the windows... Cosy-warm, misty, green and fresh in winter, and bursting with sweetly scented flowers in spring; but the area truly shines in Autumn, with an incredible array of colours and floating leaves. A peaceful retreat, for those who need time away from it all, a rest and recharge, tranquility and a connection to nature, or a reconnection with a loved one. Or for those exhausted by life needing time away, take a long, deep sleep, or a day spent among the soft pillows and cushions with a good book or free unlimited Netflix. Light the little vanilla-scented candles, have a nice hot shower, make a cup of tea (or wine, or port from the intricate port sippers provided)..and rest. For the explorers, so much awaits to be discovered, whether it be a pop out for meal, or a day-trip adventure- scroll down to the bottom for ideas, and a whole folder more await you upon arrival to help plan your adventures. Want to visit wineries but not drive? I might be able to drive you around and know lots of magical places- message me with what you were thinking- great for a surprise or special occasion too. If you are new to air bnb, and sign up by clicking this link, it seems you will get $55 off your first trip if it’s not with us. www.airbnb.com.au/c/kharman5 |•Your Accommodation•| Your apartment- airy, modern and sparkly-clean, consists of a double bed with silky soft sheets and snuggly cushions and pillows; Tv with DVD player (and a selection of DVDS) and all-you-can-eat free Netflix for a quiet night in; and ensuite bathroom. The large picture windows let in plenty of natural light and the space is welcoming and relaxing. At night, the sparkling touch lamps, tea light candles and fairylights provide a warm, soft atmosphere. Cold night? New split system, plenty of soft, snuggly blankets provided, and of course, tea. More types than you could poke a teaspoon at- the way it should be. The apartment is on a different level to the main house, separate and not joined by any internal stairs or doors. Every effort is made to ensure your privacy and peace throughout your stay. We leave it to our guests to initiate meeting us if desired, but are on hand if you were to wish for anything further. Private and secure with key lock and independent check in, you will have your own separate entry down a set of garden stairs, with your own designated off street car park included. Although there isnt a 'kitchen' or kitchenette, you will find a toaster, kettle- electric teapot and selection of tea, coffee (just instant- apologies) and hot chocolate. There is also a microwave and small fridge. We have also provided a bbq with cooktop/stovetop gas burner for your exclusive use under shelter outside your room, with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils provided. You are most welcome to eat in your apartment or take the little dining setting or picnic blanket outside for a garden picnic. As you will be on holidays, there is no need to take out your rubbish or make your bed on the day of checkout - more time to relax and enjoy your stay. A small selection of books, DVDS and games are available to borrow- just ask. We can organize self-cook BBQ breakfast ingredients or a wine and cheese platter for you with a little notice- please asks about our packages. A little minibar is in your room in case of lazy days where you would prefer to relax and have a bottle of wine or snack handy. -An extra special treat if you are staying at the apartment in spring- a small heart shaped meadow for picnics, with 50 daffodils and 600 freesias to sit amongst- you would be welcome to borrow our extra large picnic blanket and picnic set upon request -Although unsuitable for children (one adult and one child sharing the bed has been done often), we have had pairs of friends, singles and mother-daughter pairs stay. |•The Property•| Set on a quarter of an acre in a safe, hillsy and friendly neighborhood, most of the way down a quiet no-through road, Koalaville is perfect if a peaceful and relaxing getaway is what you are after- or a fun filled adventure of food, wine and cheese, as the best wineries are so close by, as is Hahndorf. Great for those who love to get in touch with nature and want to reconnect with each other. The best thing of all are our cute-as-a-button koalas, masquerading as fluffy toys, but making grunting sounds like bears, they sit adorably eating leaves- we recently had a mother, father and baby family living in the gum tree right outside your apartment window- at the moment there is one big one. There are possums-a plenty- Pete, Percy, Pixie and baby Pinkie use the trees as a possum playground, a delight to watch, and ever present. If you hear a little furry thump, it's just them having their night time adventures. Feel free to feed them, they love bread and fruit and are friendly. Fall asleep to frog chorus from the winter creek and pond, and wake peacefully to warbling magpies and singing galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos, the laughing kookaburra sounds echoing across the valley, and the satisfied soft clucking of our hens once they have laid an egg. Watch the pretty parrots and rosellas in the trees while enjoying a cup of tea- we ensure the bird feeder outside your window is topped up to entice the stunning array of birds- stay very still and enjoy a spectacular show. |•The Location•| An easy drive to the city (under half an hour), or take the 'pretty way' as we choose to go; up Greenhill Road or Magill Road, and meander down through the lush Adelaide hills for a gorgeous scenic drive- perhaps stopping along the way to pick up some fresh raspberries, 'lemonade', flowers or produce from children's stalls along the side of the roads. Ensure you drive down our favourite road, Aldgate Valley Road- we loved this road so much, that we approached several property owners to see if they would allow us to hold our wedding ceremony in their garden- we were incredibly lucky to be able to be married at a private property at 10 Aldgate Valley Road- our idea of heaven. Adelaide has gorgeous beaches- Glenelg is less than 40 minutes away, or drive down through the hills to the coast to Goolwa and along the coast through to Victor Harbor and jump on the horse drawn tram (and feed the friendly Clydesdales- they love carrots). For an incredible daytrip, head to Carrickalinga/ Normanville via Meadows- stunning, quiet beaches with dolphins around sunset. °*|•Special Occasion?•|*° Is your stay for a special occasion? Ask about making it extra special for you and surprising your loved one, or making your wedding night magical :) As of February 2018, we have created three different ‘Magic Packages’: -Arrival Surprise Treat -Twilight Magic ‘Secret Fairy’ and -Enchanted night in Or mix and match your own choices. We hope to have a proposal here someday- if you are considering this, let us help make it the most memorable and magical moment possible. |• Cost options•| As many of our guests are from Adelaide or road tripping from the eastern states, we can offer your stay for $30 off if you would like to bring your own towels and linen, if the room hasn’t already been made up. Go ahead and book, let us know at the time of booking, and we will return $30 to you. Want to stay awhile? We’d love to have you, and will give you 20% off when staying a week or longer, and 25% off if staying a month- maybe more for longer stays, give us a message for a chat. ☺️ |• Pets? •| As you can tell, we LOVE animals. One of us significantly more than the other, so I'm hoping my husband won't wade as deeply into my slabs of text as you have, and discover this update *grin*. Although we never allow pets into the apartment to keep the space clean and fresh, we do in our own home: Our cocker spaniel sleeps with her head on my pillow and snores in my ear. So if you have a pet and you can't find anywhere and you want to travel with her instead of putting her in a boarding kennel and she is a cocker spaniel, cavalier, springer, ferret, rabbit, sausage dog, kitten or similar, please let me know and I'll attempt some arm twisting for you. She might be able to sleep up in our bed in the main house too while you are on holiday. |•News•| Ask about our new packages for special occasions - would love to spoil you. -April- a gorgeous Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, who we have affectionately named ‘Bert the Bird’ has been visiting us lately twice a day, and is becoming more and more tame. We are talking to him lots and hoping he will start to talk back soon. The other day he brought along his gorgeous little baby, Bertie. She is very sooky, whines while she eats, and is quite uncoordinated, particularly with her balance and her landings. She is an absolute delight to watch from your window. - March- we have a new powerful split system installed for snuggly winters! - We now have Netflix setup and logged in for you, with chromecast, so that you can lie back, snuggle up and watch all your favourite on the room tv for a lovely weekend in. - We have now had a couple with a baby as well as a mother with a 9 year old boy stay successfully and enjoy their time here. Whilst there is only the one double bed, if you’d like to bring your little one with you, let us know in your message and we can see whether Koalaville might be able to work for you too :) Three baby magpies and two big magpies, just outside the apartment- the babies still have fluffy little bellies, aw. The warbling is amazing. Last night on our drive home, we went down Sturt Valley Road- so beautiful, and deserves a mention for a little drive. We have super fast NBN connected! No more slow internet- hooray! January : Mollie the Koala has had a tiny gorgeous baby- for a short video of she and her baby taken from the garden, the baby tugging at her furry ears, please send your number with spaces between each letter or in words, oh four oh etc, so it doesn't get blocked, and I'll send it to you- it's the cutest thing! Bird photos and descriptions can also be seen by clicking on the photos and scrolling through- the myriad of birds that come to feed at the bird feeder outside the room is delightful- including a few pink-and-grey galahs who, if you sit very still, will cheekily watch you with tilted head. January: Pixie the Possum had a gorgeous little baby, who clings onto her mother via four pawfuls of fur- so beautiful! A hair raising piggy back ride through the trees, and a joy to watch through the windows- we captured a photo of them and included it in the property photos for you to see. |•To do~Activities in the area•| A folder of ideas for exploring the area awaits you in your apartment- fun activities for the area include: -Pick your own strawberries at Beerenberg Farm and taste the incredible chutneys, jams and spreads on offer- they are just past Hahndorf and entry is only $4 including eating as many strawberries as you can manage! - Walk and explore- there are plenty of walking trails in Bridgewater and in and around the nearby tourist town of Hahndorf. Even walking through the roads of Aldgate is the most relaxing and beautiful experience. - Stirling, Aldgate and Crafers villages nearby have great cafes, shops and pubs. We highly recommend and love the Stirling Hotel- great atmosphere including live acoustic music often. - Bike riding- Adelaide hills is great for this, as it is part of the Tour Downunder circuit- we also have the beautiful Amy Gillett Bikeway, running along Woodside and Oakbank, past some lovely wineries and the Melba's Chocolate factory- bikes available on request- notice needed for this to ensure they are in perfect working order for you. -Visit the monthly Stirling Laneways markets Sundays in Stirling- "The award-winning Stirling Laneways is more than a market. • Absolutely perfect, we loved our stay here so much. Kylie was an amazing host, her attention to detail and her friendly happy spirit made for one of our most favorite stays of all time. Please indulge in the packages Kylie offers. We had both the evening platters and also the breakfast package and we were not disappointed. So much love and hard work was put into making our stay a magical experience, we will definitely come back here again. You won't regret it. The bed was comfy, the view was perfection and the cleaning standards were immaculate. We love KOALAVILLE!!!

    Sharyn2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Koalaville was wonderful. Kylie put so much thought and love into her little sanctuary in Bridgewater. Upon entry there was a personalised welcome sign and lovely note on the mirror as well as some fairy mood lighting and music. Kylie has thought of everything and provided little extras in case of emergency. Little notes around the room for information/instructions was a special touch. The room was so romantic and cosy and styled well. We loved all the blankets and (especially the heated blanket) to stay toasty and warm. Bathroom was clean and tidy and shower pressure and heat were perfect. The view was beautiful and we had many bird visitors to watch come and go. Hoping to see some koalas but they must have been elsewhere when we stayed. You can really tell that Kylie prides herself on giving her guests that extra special experience. Highly recommend and we would love to visit again. Thanks Kylie :-)

  • Wendy & Merv's place is a great place to stay. It is within easy reach of Adelaide Hills wineries & other activities as well as being a comfortable fast trip to Adelaide. It is a large comfortable space with some excellent touches which made us feel at home. Wendy offers generous provisions for breakfast which were from local, delicious produce. It also provides easy access to the Amy Gillett cycle path which is a great ride through some very scenic countryside. I would highly recommend Wendy & Merv's place for stay in the Adelaide Hill.

    Patricia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, comfortable and clean place to stay in the Adelaide hills. Merv and Wendy were great hosts, giving us plenty of space but also checking in every now and then to check if we needed anything and give us fresh produce from their beautiful garden. The breakfast they provided was extremely generous and locally sourced. The accommodation was well equipped, with coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine to make things easy. Very comfy bed, lots of blankets, heating and cooling, beautiful claw-footed bath, and very very clean. The pool was warm and the place felt very private despite being so close to the main house. A great place for a relaxing retreat.

The gardens are green, flowery and immaculate with a nice sized clean heated pool. Add into a great location, quiet but close and central to several nice Hills towns. We wouldn’t hesitate to head back and stay there again!

Dannie went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Dannie was kind enough to offer us a lift to the wedding we had on. This was really helpful as we did not have to stress over taxis.

A stylish suite in a country character house with exposed beams, high ceilings all with your own private entrance. There's a lounge room with a kitchen and dining area, a separate bedroom and a bathroom. It is in the main house but is accessible only via its own entrance. It's a 5 minute walk to Hahndorf's historic main street where you can enjoy amazing restaurants and cafes.
Uniquely designed to capture elements of yesteryear and beautifully balanced with modern touches. Wide timber floorboards, lofted ceilings with dark feature beams and limestone rendering complete the country charm. Reverse cycle air conditioning, WiFi access, smart TV and contemporary art and furnishing bring the room into the 21st century. The room is very quiet, private and block out curtains will ensure a good sleep in whilst on holiday. The room has a private access down the side path and cannot be accessed directly from the house allowing guests complete privacy. A 400m walk down a charming street takes you to the main street of Hahndorf.
The property is a beautiful street with large gum trees and even some cows at the end of the road. Hahndorf was first settled in 1839 by German immigrants. Many of the historic buildings are well preserved and can be seen in the main street. Hahndorf is a great place to be based whilst exploring the Adelaide Hills, with the Barossa Valley to the north and McLaren Vale to the South.

  • This place is fantastic !!! very very very nice and my parents and I love it so much. The decorations are so beautiful and the place is clean and spacious. Rick is such an warm and enthusiastic host and we get a lot of help from him and his wife. They are so generous and nice. We have a wonderful night there. Living with them likes living with family numbers and their dog and cat are so cute. what's more, their kitchen is fantastic, a lot of high quality stuff and seasoning and flavor for cooking. Rick's house is super beautiful, and the design is very reasonable and exuberant. The host is also very very warm and generous. His kitchen is full of seasonings, and the roast beef is delicious and close to the German village. Very very perfect, super recommended, love it, and would like to go again

  • A huge thank you to Rick and Jacinta. We needed to attend a wedding in Hahndorf where accomodation was at a premium. We chose this home as it was so close.. only a 10 minute drive from the venue. We were so glad we did. We stayed with 2 friends. The bedrooms were comfy and private. Such wonderful artworks on every wall. The bathroom was devine, with a large deep bath and separate roomy walk in shower with toiletries from the Body shop..yum. The hospitality couls not be fs6ulted as Rick kindly made us a cuppa before we checked out and joined us for a relaxed and interesting chat. Quality ground coffee and leaf tea was delicious... and accessible to us during our stay. We all highly recommend staying here instead of the hassle and hustle of Hahndorf. Classy, comfy and cosy .

The house is a solid stone Queen Anne Villa style home set in the popular Adelaide Hills less than 10 minutes from both Stirling and Hahndorf, and less than 30 minutes from the city of Adelaide. Come and stay for some peace and quiet, and to connect with nature. We have three friendly farm dogs, a snobby indoor cat, chooks and alpacas. The property has swimming pool, spa, sauna, full hard surface tennis court, and loads of space - both open and forest - to find your place of absolute zen.
Swimming pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, paddocks, forest stroll, living spaces, kitchen.
The local hotel, Bridgewater Inn, is relaxed with an incredible menu. Set beside a flowing creek. In the beginning of the warmer months the sounds of frogs and sight of ducks, and locals strolling on walking paths is so relaxing and dreamy. There is also the cute Bridgewater Greengrocer and Cafe, where you can get some nice organic produce and have a snack and tea/coffee(next door to Coles). Stirling is a beautiful little town with great cafes and shopping boutiques. The historic German inspired Hahndorf is just a few short minutes away. And nature reserves and walking trails surround the property. Of course, very nearby is Cleland National Park where you can hand feed kangaroos, and have your picture taken with a koala. Warrawong Sanctuary houses some protected Australian Native animals. Monarto Zoo is just up the freeway, where you can tour in a bus amongst giraffes, lions, and other wild animals.
  • A truly amazing stay! Natalie and Andrew have an amazing home in a beautiful location. It has everything. The property itself is secluded and private yet so close to the town of Bridgewater and only a quick dash into the hills or the city. The hosts are generous with their property and their time. We were lucky enough to meet the alpacas on arrival and were promised we could help feed in the morning. It truly was Aplacas in the Mist. It was great fun meeting and feeding the alpacas and a great part of the stay. We then enjoyed a leisurely walk around the property in the cool of the morning talking with the hosts. The view from the deck of the outdoor entertaining is brilliant as is the water in the sparkling clean pool. The lush green grounds and gardens add to the atmosphere. We asked for tips on a local restaurant and invited the hosts to join us for dinner. They happily joined us and we had a great meal and really enjoyed the conversation and their company. The house is massive and the rooms all climate controlled with some nice thoughtful touches. It was also great to enjoy a coffee and a chat before we departed. I can’t recommend their place enough. Overall another faultless Airbnb experience.

    Duncan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a stunning property and two very kind and generous hosts who made us feel very welcome and at home. Natalie and Andrew happily showed us around the property, letting our kids feed the Alpacas and talking us for a bush walk. We were very comfortable using the indoor and outdoor space at our leisure and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask. A fantastic few days spent visiting the Adelaide hills and there is no doubt we will be back! -thanks again Natalie and Andrew.

  • Stunning house and property! The pool , spa, outdoor kitchen and dining area are great for relaxing all year round. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and were very generous with opening their home. We loved the experience of hand feeding the alpacas and meeting the dogs and cat too.

  • We had an amazing stay at Zarah’s place! Zarah’s place is a convenient less than 10 minute walk to the main street of Hahndorf and there is plenty of street parking available. We had our own private entry via the side gate and our dog (and toddler) had plenty of room to run around and explore in the backyard. The best part of our stay though was meeting Zarah and her beautiful family, who welcomed us like family. We are so glad to have chosen Zarah’s Airbnb over a hotel or resort and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, private room with easy access to Hahndorf and surrounding attractions.

  • Jason and Emily's place was a beautifully renovated cottage. They provided everything we could have needed and more. They thoughtfully provided delicious breakfast options from the local area. The only thing that I thought was lacking and would have been useful was a washing machine and pegs. I would definitely recommend this B&B for future travellers and hope to stay there again.

The kitchen and facilities were excellent and super clean. One thing to be mindful of is the only toilet would have been an external toilet in years gone by. It's now fully connected to the house, however it would be cold if you're staying there in the middle of winter and need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night! But hey, that's all part of the experience and reminder to be grateful for our modern facilities in our regular houses. The fruit bowl was gratefully appreciated, as was the variety of food in the fridge and cereals. We also met the lovely dog and one of the cats on a short walk around the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome views surround this delightful bungalow we call the poolhouse. Cosy in winter with the fire blazing and cool in summer as you step out onto the front porch and sip your cocktails by the sparkling pool, great for a romantic getaway or simply some "me time" and all right in the heart of the premium wine region of the Adelaide Hills. Only five minutes into the historic town of Hahndorf, 15 minutes down the freeway to Adelaide, and 40 minutes to the beachside Port Elliot.
Our guests have all said the photos dont do it justice. The poolhouse is a unique space that overlooks the Adelaide Hills over a sparkling pool. Enjoy the autumn colours and the cosy fireplace in winter. We are within 10 minutes drive to many of the Adelaide Hills finest wineries, and only 5 from the Hahndorf Hamlet, where there are restaurants, pubs, shopping and strawberry picking all available!
Hahndorf is a German Town steeped in history with old stone buildings and a real village appeal. It is a very popular tourist spot in all seasons. We are only 15 minutes down the freeway to Adelaide city, and 15 mins through Hahndorf to Mount Barker Regional Centre.

  • Room and bathroom are very clean with privacy on one wing of the house. Loved the continental breakfast on the patio with beautiful ambience and fresh crisp air. Sheila is a wonderful host with a lovely added touch of a light cake/strudel in the evening.

  • Great place to stay. Private room and own en suite. High standard of cleanliness and great hosts with lots of local tips. Did the sketching workshop at the Cedars with Sheila as tutor which I would highly recommend.

  • Sheila and her husband Stan are really wonderful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them in Handorf. The accommodation is very clean and to a very high standard. The bedroom, bathroom and study area are very private and Sheila (and Stan) go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We enjoyed getting to know them, and at the same time, they were very happy for us to enjoy the home as our own. We don't often stay in B and B's but can highly recommend this one. Handorf's main street is a short walk away and the accommodation is in a private and quiet street away from the daily bustle of this quaint town. Definitely, worth the stay - we would love to come back again.

    David2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Stan's house is the perfect location to explore Hahndorf. Their house is welcoming and the bedroom is wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was had with handmade blackberry jam, can't get much better than that!! Remember to ask about the Hans Heysen studio and house when you stay as Sheila volunteers there and knows a lot about it. We loved staying here and would do so again.

    Georgia2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay with Sheila and Stan! Their property is exceptionally clean and well situated in Hahndorf. Sheila went out of her way to help us when we were running late for a wedding, even dropping us off. Sheila and Stan are lovely people and very easy to chat to. We would happily stay again

    Rebecca2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a friendly and thoughtful host who made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. The bedroom, bathroom and guest lounge were well appointed, comfortable and sparkling clean. Sheila's artwork adorns the walls and makes her home feel quite special. Breakfast was amazing, especially the just picked blackberries. It was great being able to walk a few hundred metres and be in the heart of Hahndorf. Thank you for a great stay.

Every season in the Adelaide Hills has it's own beauty. It's proximity to Adelaide and easy transport routes means you are often in the city faster than if you live in the suburbs. Likewise a lack of traffic and open roads give us easy access to the wine regions and southern beaches making it a great base to get around.

  • A beautiful, peaceful, private retreat a few minutes from Hahndorf Town. Loved every minute of our two night stay, only wishing we had booked longer. The breakfast hamper included in our stay was sufficient & delicious- the milk was udderly amazing, it had cream on top!!! We enjoyed using the beautiful bath on the balcony, respiting in the tranquility of this property. The resident cows were a welcome enjoyment, and the ability to feed them from a little bag of goodies left by the owner was thoughtful. The bedroom was comfortable, with lovely bedsheets, comfortable bed & pillows. The dressing gowns were a great inclusion & came in very handy for the midnight dashes to the loo! The little kitchen/lounge room was well equipped, however champagne glasses would have been great. All in all our stay here was fabulous, the little thoughtful inclusions were great & we would highly recommend to book in a few nights here.

At the Mylor Farm we're transforming a secluded cottage with beautiful gum forest nestled beside a creek into the ultimate farm getaway. We have an established veggie and herb garden, as well as fruit orchard that is 18 months old! We have recent additions of a secret garden with tree fort, cut flower beds and further country garden. Over 15 acres all to yourself and your family - use it as a retreat or a base for exploring the wonderful Adelaide Hills.
Did you ever wish there was a place close to the city where you could go to get away from it all? Our farm is just the place. Just 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, yet a whole world away. The cosy stone cottage has three bedrooms tastefully furnished with queen sized beds and soft freshly laundered linen. There is a fireplace to snuggle up to and read a book. A kitchen with stocked pantry to cook your own food and a large dining table to enjoy meals with family and friends. Relax and enjoy the view from the delightful lounge whilst listening to a record. Outside is an abundance of fauna, including visiting kangaroos and koalas. For the birders, we have documented over 40 species of birds. Walk around and explore the woodlands with its wildflowers. Try your hand fishing from the creek, or bring a dish and pan for gold! If you want to be active, our vegetable garden is seasonal, and you'd be welcome to help out. We also have further gardens around the house and a secret garden near our treehouse. Other activities include hiking the Heysen Trail, mountain and road biking, and of course enjoying the local produce, especially the famous local wineries.
Hiking, mountain biking, and fishing are at your doorstep. A little further down the road is Mylor, a small village in the Adelaide Hills. It is surrounded by over 60 wineries with some of the best cool-climate wines in Australia. The Adelaide Hills is known for its weekend farmers' markets, with artisan and local produce.

  • Wendy and Luan have one of the best AirBnB accommodations that my wife and I have stayed in. It had had all the essential amenities, and was quiet and exceptionally well maintained. My family and I enjoyed the secluded spot but which was also near enough to the towns in Adelaide Hills and will certainly want to stay there again for more family bonding!

  • This property ticks all of the boxes: stylish; functional; private; unique; close to amenities; and family friendly. The winding pathway through the property was easily accessible for all ages. The path leads to and enclosed sanctuary for Easter the kangaroo. He was so gentle and let us pat him and feed him grains. Each bedroom felt luxurious, so no one felt as though they had the “bad” room. The property is close to Mylor village and the popular cyclist cafe, Harvest. We only wished we had stayed for longer!

  • We decided to stay here to relax after a very busy work schedule, and walked away feeling refreshed and at peace! This property is stunning.
