  • I stayed at Meyske's home as a single traveller guest for a 4-overnight trip and well, it was real special: Not only her house is extraordinary - especially the public living & dining area and this beautiful balcony - also I booked a 2 days tour which I was lucky that Meyske could take over herself. The day before was a funeral and because of Saturday also Buffulo Market and Meyske was so friendly to invite another guest and me for a lift by scooter - just as friends. thanks so much! Back to the tour: I joined Meyske on the back on her scooter too :-)) What a pleasure :-)) - 1st day South 2nd day Nord. Too much to tell for a short recommendation. Well, and in addition Meyske is so good connected: we also visited on a private basis families and their so called illness relatives. This included Meyske's professional knowledge: What an experience! Summary: really VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! And if you might think as me in the beginning tour seems a bit expensive please notice all entrance fee and gifts for the visited families was included and of course Meyske is surely one of the best guide you could find. Thanks again for all !!

  • I went to stay at Meyske's house with 2 friends and my nephew. My nephew was very sick during the trip and threw up and had high fever during our stay. Meyske and David were very helpful and helped us a lot. I am very grateful for their awesome hospitality and help.

  • From the moment we arrived Meyske and David made us feel like we were at home. They were so kind and helped us with the organisation in Tana Toraja as well as for our further travels. The accommodation is perfectly clean and very comfortable. Every day during our stay we gathered with other guests in the living room to have a chat. The breakfast ist just great and we can only recommend to book the dinner since Meyske is a very good cook. The friendly atmosphere in this homestay made it the perfect place to relax and to start exploring the Toraja culture.

  • We had three wonderful days at Meyske's lovely homestay. We so much appreciated her cooking (own varying & delicious creations!) and guiding skills so that we would have stayed there longer if possible. Her place is cozy, but at the same time spacious which makes you feel welcome and at home. Don't let yourself be put off by her pricier tours, it will be so much worth every rupiah because she will take you to special locations off the beaten track. Great host, highly recommend!

  • We did a Sulawesi Roundtrip and saw many different places. Rantepao with Meyske was the Highlight! The accommodation was very cozy and fits exactly the description. Food was very good and Meyske was the best guide we've ever had. We learnt so much about the culture of the Torajans and saw a lot of beautiful places. Meyske spent a lot of time with us and explained everything very well. We enjoyed the tour with her very much and can highly recommend her as a guide. On top we felt like home at her place. The whole family was so nice to us. If you go to Tana Toraja, you really should stay there 😊

  • A beautiful experience in an authentic Toragean place. Super tasty food, kind and helpful host.

    Gabriele2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The house is lovely and in an historic tongkonan. Though Meyske was not there, she arranged everything perfectly for us and her mother cooked delicious food for us. We loved the way the accommodation was decorated and the view from the balcony. Definitely a perfect place to explore the Torajan culture.

  • Ne Pakku family house offers an authentic glimpse on how it's like living in a Torajan house. It has everything you need for a wonderful visit: Nice, warm and strategically located house, complete amenities, check-in time is very accommodating towards travelers' usual arriving time from Makassar, and most definitely memorable hospitality. 10/10 will revisit!

Youll be staying in the new house, with balcony and nice views
Very welcoming neighbors (in all of Toraja actually). You'll be smiled upon when you arrive! The house is about 50 meters offroad from a busier road, connected to the main road. When you ask for 'Mama Tia' on the Jl. Ke'te kesu street, everyone knows where to send you. But easier: when you text me i can pick you up wherever you are!
  • It was a perfect stay in the Mama Tia house. The son is a very good guide to show you the toraja culture. All was perfect during our stay.

    Julien2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mama tia is MUCH better than description - own double bed room, western bathroom, balcony, reasonably priced yummy dinner, nice people

    Kadek Ayu2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • It's my second time at mama Tia and all I can say it's a very nice place for a more than reasonable price. Yacob and his family are very friendly and welcoming

    Heike2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed 3 nights at mama Tia and can recommend this place without doubt for anyone, who is looking for a very welcoming, always smiling host! The room I had was cozy and clean and there is a new building with for spacious really nice rooms, a common area and two toilets/showers. You can enjoy the nice view from the balcony while having breakfast. Yacob and his son yansen are always around and ready for a chat. We had yacob one day as a guide and the other day it was yansen showing us around. Both have great knowledge about everything and are more than happy to share with you. In the evenings yacobs wife cooked delicious food for all guests which we enjoyed together in the common area. Mama Tia is absolutely the place to be, if you want to experience a local family and their knowledge about the area :)

    Heike2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Yacob and his family are very welcoming. The homestay is a bit distant from Rantepao but far removed from the noise of the city. Possibility of taking a scooter.

    Richard Corentin2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We can recommend the accommodation in every respect. The family is very personable, open and give lots of tips. Jacob the host father is a very good, authentic guide, with a lot of knowledge about the life, the rituals and myths of Toraja.

    Evelyn2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcome yacob, his wife and son. He speaks English and a little French. We also recommend it for its guiding qualities Nico and Jade

    Nicolas2019-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family of three (my husband, me, and our nine-year-old son) spent four nights with Yacob and his family, and we had a great time. It was so fun for my child to make friends with two Indonesian children close to his age, and in fact, Yacob's son was able to accompany us during one of our days exploring Toraja, with Yacob as our guide (we rented one of his motorbikes that my son and husband used and I rode with Yacob). It was a special treat to stay with an Indonesian family--we ate breakfast with them (simple things like pisang goreng--fried banana--and homemade cakes and coffee) and a couple of dinners, which were enjoyed sitting on a tarp on the floor in pretty typical fashion, and used a mandi for bathing. Yacob, Desi, Karin, and Kensel were super welcoming and kind. My husband and I had both spent a fair amount of time in Indonesia, so I felt like we knew what to expect from an Indonesian home; if you expect luxury, this is not for you. But if you want an authentic experience with a generous family who raise their own pigs and chickens and vegetables, don't hesitate to book!

Two charming bamboo rooms with balconies from where you enjoy a splendid view of our organic farm and the Torajan mountains in the distance. The price includes 3 organic meals daily, snacks, fruit, coffee, tea and water. A private bathroom (traditional toilet and mandi) is located next to the bungalow.
Our bungalow has two private rooms situated on a hillside (almost on top) right in the heart of Toraja, offering spectacular views from a large shared balcony over the farm, mountains and valleys. You will be living with a local family of around 10 people, not counting visiting relatives and friends, who occupy two other houses. The price is for a private room within the bungalow for two people, and includes three organic meals a day and fresh coffee and tea. Most of the food comes from our own organic farm. Besides our organic farm, which has ducks, chicken, goats and lots of vegetables and fruit, we run the Natsir's Nature School, where children from the neighboring villages can learn English for free. The school has afternoon classes from 2pm - 3pm and 4pm-5pm, and can get a little noisy at times. Learning English is very important for these children as it will increase their chances of finding a job in the future. Volunteers help out on the farm and with teaching English, and stay in two small huts above the bungalow. During your stay you can simply relax on the balcony of the bungalow, experience the life of a local family, have a look around our organic farm, the school and the library, enjoy the views, or take a nice walk to the river or the market in Rembon (on Saturdays). By walking through the rice fields for 15 minutes, you reach the main road, where you find public transport to Makale. Alternatively a private car can be arranged for transport to and from Makale for an additional fee.
On our beautiful remote hilltop farm there are plenty of ways to spend your time: - stroll around and explore the area to see authentic Torajan country life, beautiful nature and local culture - immerse yourself into farming life. I would love to show you around our organic garden and inform you about the planting, harvesting and use of our wide range of vegetables and fruit (for example pineapples, passion fruit, coconuts, vanilla, chilli, rambutan and many more) - learn to cook Torajan style dishes with my lovely wife Diana - produce your own chocolate or coffee - simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful view. Read a book, relax and let time pass by.
  • Were warmly welcomed. Very familiar and Natsir is a warm person with lots of good ideas and great projects. The bungalows are simple but cozy and the toilets are typically Indonesian. We got a variety of dishes (vegan on request) with fresh vegetables and fruits from our own garden by his wife Diana.

    Jürgen2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We have to thank Natsir and his family for an amazing stay. It is a basic and simple stay in a small village next to makale. Hopefully we come back soon, since Natsir and his family treated us as friends. We felt like beeing a part of his family and enjoyed the whole stay.

    Christian2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful stay in beautiful surrioundings and great company! Natsir is very welcoming and friendly, and was more than willing to show us his big organic garden full of exotic herbs, fruits and vegetables, as well as show us how to make stuff from it. His wife makes incredibly tasty homecooked food, and we felt as welcome as we could get. Also by staying there you are supporting Natsir’s project, which is a school he has set up for the children around the village to help them get an education and learn english. All in all it was a very special experience, and we are happy we chose this homestay.

    Emma Louise2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Natsir was a great host. You can help with the activities of the garden, walk around the area, learn about his project and enjoy the delicious meals. We really enjoyed our stay there.

    Rebeca2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn’t recommend this enough. Natsir is quite the incredible person and doing amazing things for his Tana Toraja. He has a great outlook, and many terrific project that are directly benefiting his local community. Apart from all the special things Natsir is doing, he makes your stay extremely enjoyable. With so much local knowledge and fun things going on at the farm, you’ll have a great experience.

    David2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • excellent hospitality, an exceptional social approach, a gift of self of the rarest. Natsir cares for others in an exemplary way and displays remarkable courage.

    Philippe2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Natsirs place is so amazing and really unique!!! He treats his guests like family and loves to teach you aspects from his perspective and things about the culture and the life here. Hes a very smart and creative man and tries to improve the situation for the local people, especially for children who cannot go to school. Besides his free english school, he does a lot for the nature by farming organically, collecting rubbish in the surroundings or teaching people about taking care of the environment. The meals were so good, actually the best we had on our 2 months indonesia trip, because the food comes straight from his garden. If you want to experience a real and meaningful stay in Toraja, come here! You can help Natsir or the kids, or simply enjoy the nature with an amazing view and nature sounds.

    Marvin2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Natsir runs this airbnb in order to support an amazing education project for local kids, so staying there was an opportunity to discuss many interesting things with the host and understand a complex context. The space itself is amazing, located rather remotely in the hills, built using local materials and techniques, very respectful towards the environment. The air is clean, cool temperatures, not many moskitoes. Food is included for the day, always super fresh from the garden and less oily than in most places I've eaten in Indonesia. You can arrange transport & tours in Toraja region and pick-up/drop-off to the station are included. All in all, a place you want to stay immersed in as long as possible.

6km NE of Rantepao. A rural self contained 3 bedroom dwelling set in a bamboo forest beside terraced rice fields. Within 80 meters of other village houses. Be looked after by people in the village and by qualified tour guides. Experience village life. Use this house as a base for trekking and exploring Tana Toraja. Has a kitchen and clean separate bathroom (toilet and shower). Recently built by an Australian Engineer/Architect for his part time personal use and as a gift to the local village.
The house is now finished. There is no other rentable house like this in Toraja. Built in traditional style from local wood with a high class of carpentry. The views from the front veranda over the rice fields and forest are "to die for." The site is quite and serene. Guests can enjoy the whole house. The bathroom and toilet are in a detached brick building located a few metres from the house.
The view over the terraces rice fields and forests is stunning. Guests can interact with people in the village and learn about village life. The rice harvest starts in July and can be watched from the verandas. The guests will be able to mix with the village workers and gain an understanding of farm and village life.
  • We had the best time in Rantepao in HIll House Garuda. A family of five, we chose to go mostly on our own in this ideally located bungalow. The hosts fully respect your intimity if you want to but you can also benefit from the good will of Agus to discover this amazing region, on rented motorbikes or in his car. He knows about everything, just ask ! I would also recommend Ayub's kitchen, especially her Pa'piong Ayam cooked one hour in bamboo trunks in front of your house !

    Véronique2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • You will live with a really kind family in a lovely place. Agus will cook for you, Ayup will bring you throughout the Toraja country and will give you all the explanations to understand a bit better their culture and exploring all the best places (culture and landscapes)... The place to stay is in a small village in a very quiet place and a so nice view! The children of the village will be so happy to meet you! Just a perfect immersion time ;-)

    Jean-Philippe2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an exceptional time. Without doubt the best place to stay when you want to visit the Toraja country or just rest and contemplate nature. Thanks to Agus who is very caring and who prepares the meal if you wish. And a big thank you also to Ayub for making us visit the Toraja country and share its culture.

    Karin2018-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 3 days this summer in the house of Agus and it was an unforgettable experience. The house is wooden, on stilts, adjoining a village of a few houses. It is built from the rice fields and offers an extraordinary view. You can walk around the house in the rice fields. At sunrise and sunset, it's amazing! The village is about ten kilometers north of Rantepao. The house is very simple, with a small kitchen, a bedroom on the ground floor (and soon a second) and a small bedroom on the mezzanine. We live mostly on the large balcony L overlooking the rice fields. Adjoining the house, a small shower and toilet. It is a unique place, extremely picturesque and in our opinion, the best way to discover the Toraja and its inhabitants. For the meals and the maintenance of the house, Angus, one of the inhabitants of the village, takes care of it. Delicious and hearty meal. Angus is adorable and with some Indonesian rudiments we are very good at talking to her. Finally, for the discovery of Toraja, there is Ayub, who was our guide during the stay. A very nice meeting. He speaks perfect English and made us discover the region and the amazing culture of the inhabitants. We can arrange things in advance with him through WhatsApp.

    Fred2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Hill house is a beautiful, quiet place in rural Indonesia. Agus and Milkha are two really Nice ladies that Will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner if you want, but you Can also cook yourself. Facilities are basic and the house itself is still a bit work in progress. The last improvement was a separate bathroom with a western flush-toilet and running cold shower. Our Son loved to book water on the woodstove outside, providingnus with hot water to shower with. This combined with the view whilst in the shower, Made it the best shower ever :). The owner (Garuda) Can get you in touch with local guides to do a Nice trekking. We went with Pery, who did an excellent job. Two points of attention: be prepared to sleep in a house in the country side (so expect bugs in the room) and because you are in a secluded place it is not easy to for insta ce compare guide fees Or transport prices. We ended up for instance in a car to Makassar at 1.4 mio, where we met other travellers that paid around 900k. We did get a very luxurious car though :). But this did not spoil the great memories we Will have from our 5 day stay in Rantepao!

    Madeleine2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous visit and should have wished we had planned to stay even longer. From our first queries throughout the planning all the communication was great. Ayub was so very kind to not only book but also arrange and pay for the bus tickets to Rantapeo at a busy period - over and above the call of duty. Ayub was a very safe driver, and accommodated all that we wanted to see in our few days stay and shared lots of stories and local info. Highly recommended you have Ayub show you around! Agus cooked us delicious vegetarian food and we felt so relaxed and contented. Loved the whole beautiful valley and were so lucky with both the weather and the fact that everywhere was so uncrowded. As the airbnb description says - if you want 5-star luxury - don't come. But if you want to stay in a clean, simple cabin and listen to the sound of the wind through the tall bamboos by day - and hear the cicadas and frogs by night while watching the stars come out - you will love it! Strongly recommended. Go before everyone else does!

  • If you want to experience Torajan culture in a personal way, dissociate from western culture, and be in a semi-secluded location, this is the place to stay! We stayed 6 nights and were really starting to incorporate ourselves into the family's day-to-day. We found this homestay a couple of weeks prior to our stay, but given our experience it would have been nice to stay longer and hire Ayub for a trek. I would encourage you to stay at least 5-6 days. The home is not finished yet but you have what you need. It is in a spectacular location. Be sure to take a walk in the rice fields which the home faces. Because it is semi-secluded (about 15 minute drive into the central Rantepao), the best way to get around would be to rent a motor bike. We ended up staying at the home for most of the time (we have a 20 month old and don't feel comfortable riding in a motorbike). Ayub, who lives in Rantepao is part of the family and is a professional tour guide. He took us on day excursions which included local must-see sites, attended a funeral, and we participated in the Village's Catholic mass, celebrating harvest. Ayub's English is excellent. We picked his brain and learned a lot. He also can arrange to do trekking trips out to more remote villages. Agus lives in the village and is very attentive and makes sure you are fed. She would bring food to us for lunch and dinner until we told her that we would cook our breakfast and lunch. We continued to ask for dinner but got involved in helping her prepare dinner. This is a great way to learn to cook Torajan food. Toward the end we were contributing meals for dinner and sharing as well as eating in Agus' kitchen. My husband would spend some afternoons drinking local palm wine with the village men. We downloaded an app that helped us translate between English and Bahasa and it really helped in the communication process. The water comes from a stream and we boiled it to use for drinking and had no problems! The only suggestion I have to future guests is to be mindful of the inorganic waste you bring and produce as it ends up being burned on the property. Indonesia's culture around waste management is not ideal. Definitely consider this a true homestay! That said, the more you engage and share, the more enriching of an experience you will get. We really feel like we made friends here and hope to return with more family in the years to come.

Staying in traditional house and enjoy visiting the best attraction in Toraja such as experience the famos funeral ceremonies, the hanging tomb and watch the sunrise in the land above the cloud. I am living with my mom in traditional house of Toraja people, I am also the tour guide who can bring you to the best hidden attractions in town. My place is close to the attraction, the bus stop is just in front of my coffee shop. My room is basic but you will have the best experience to stay here.
It is a wooden traditional house of Toraja with rice barns with a small coffee shop with mini bar for beer and local spirit ;-)
Locals is surrounding this place.. you can interact with them since your first step.. you can do hiking to the most attractive LONDA burial site.
  • I had a wonderful 4 days staying at Wilanda and his mother’s home right outside Rantepao. The highlight, of course, was having Wilanda as my tour guide. My experience echoes all the previous outstanding reviews. Wilanda has deep roots in Toraja. He knows the customs, history, and folklore intimately, plus he has a unique talent for communicating this information. He is also very thoughtful and deliberate about planning each day’s excursions based on your available time and interests. Wilanda’s mother made us a delicious breakfast each morning, and was friendly and helpful. The house is a lovely old Torajan family home. It is not a hotel, so adjust your expectations accordingly. There is no hot shower, and the room is basic. You are out in nature, and you’ll be sharing your space with some (mostly) friendly insects. If you are used to a higher standard of luxury, this may not be your best choice for accommodation, but if your comfort comes from simple living in a welcoming home, then look no further.

  • Wilanda is a rare person, honest, available, attentive and generous, her adorable mother too, happy to cook with her guests and to learn new recipes (French crepes!). The room is in the family house "in its own juice", the time seems to be stopped there dozens of years. Thank you both for your warm welcome!

    Celia2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The room is simple in a traditional house, with a small balcony and a shared bathroom. The only drawback is the main road which is really very noisy. But Will is a very good host who has given us his many tips and which was especially helpful after a small accident. His mom is very kind! Will is eager to meet new people and is very curious, it's a pleasure to chat with him and discuss our different countries! I recommend !!

  • Wilanda (and his sweet mother) are very kind hosts. We had a great time and Wilanda played a great part in this. He knows the area and culture really well so gave us very good tour. If you want to get to know Toraja taking a tour with him is greatly recommended. The room is basic, but together with Wilanda as a guide a very good base for exploring Toraja land. Thanks a lot!

  • I was fortunate to extend my stay at Wilanda’s airbnb! I’m a traveler from America, and this was my first time to Toraja. As mentioned in my previous review, Wilanda is an amazing tour guide that truly made my experience in Toraja unforgettable. In the short while we quickly became good friends as well, he’s very knowledgeable and communicates well, our conversations were very good, and I learned a lot. With him, I was able to see a traditional house warming ceremony, Ma’nene activities in Pangala, and a funeral ceremony. He took me to the main sights of Toraja that come up on google searches and to many hidden gems, also great restaurants from beautiful views to the local foods. My favorite was bamboo pork! I give my highest recommendation to stay at Wilanda’s airbnb, and especially to have him as your tour guide through your stay in Toraja. I look forward to returning in the future and staying at his place again!

  • My stay at Wilanda’s was truly amazing and fantastic! There’s so much to explore in Toraja and even in a short time of 4 nights and 5 days, with Wila as my tour guide, we were unstoppable at seeing the most of it! This was my first trip to Toraja and certainly will not be my last. I’ve traveled many times to Bali, and Toraja is now my favorite. The room itself is basic but I slept very good and found the bed comfortable, the pillows are really good too. The house has a lot of character, and Wila’s mom is a sweet lady who kindly made me very nice breakfast meals. The house is in the style of Toraja, and staying in one was a unique experience. It’s located a little outside the main part of Rantepao and I found everything to be very convenient, the bus from Makassar will drop you at Lande Coffee. My stay was so awesome I was fortunate to extend my stay, and so will continue my review... :)

  • Such great, helpful communications before and after arrival. Wilanda and his lovely Mama are exceptional hosts, who make you feel very much at home. Wilanda speaks fluent English, which is unusual in the region. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide for our day out attending a family funeral.

    Kathy2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wilanda was really nice, he helped us a lot to organize our days in Toraja. He gave us advices on places to visit, booked a bus to Tentena for us, offered us some coffee, showed us how to drive a motorbike and was a great guide in the mountains, thanks to him we could watch a wonderful sunrise above the clouds. His family house is traditional and has a great soul. It is right next to the main street to Rantepao, so the environment is quite noisy and polluted but still less that in the city and we had earplug so it didn’t disturb our sleep. Wilanda is building 3 new houses that will be really beautiful, further away from the street, don’t hesitate to book when the first will be ready (in two months normally). The room we slept in and the equipment were very basic, the mattress is on the floor and there is no hot water in the shower, it didn’t bother us at all but that is something you should know, you have to like adventure a little bit! Breakfast is not included but you can ask Wilanda and his adorable Mama to prepare one for 15.000 rupiah, it’s really good! We also could rent a motorbike from Wilanda for 150.000 rupiah a day (+fuel). Rantepao is 5 kilometers away from Wilanda´s house, to get there you can use a motorbike or public cars (with yellow license plate) that drive from 6 am to 6 pm for only 5.000/pers. Staying in Toraja is an experience and an adventure, we thank Wilanda to have shared a part of his culture and life with us!

The room was clean and the house itself is awe inspiring. Meyske also provided me with an amazing tour, which I highly recommend doing, if you want to learn about the fascinating culture of Tanah Toraja. Saying goodbye was sad, but I'll be sure to visit again!!! Highly recommended!!

  • hey guys, if you’re open minded & not squeamish this could be an experience you’ll never forget. we were honored to get an insight into this culture very different from ours(european😉)..by living at meyskes & having a tour with the guide ino

  • This is the most authentic place I have ever stayed in. The family, being mainly Meyske's mother, grandmother and uncle, are absolutely lovely. They make you feel at home right from the start. Meyske was not in Toraja when I stayed there, but that was not a problem at all, we stayed in contact anyways and she organized so many things for me, that I didn't even have to think for anything myself. The guide she organized (Rian) showed me a lot of interesting things (avoiding the tourist crowds) and explained a lot about the culture. Unfortunately I had a pretty bad fever for 2 days when I was there, but her family took really good care of me, they are so kind hearted. Did I mention that Meyske's mother is a really good cook, too? My personal highlight was when the family invited me to join them for a house funeral ceremony. It was really something to join for such an authentic experience and I felt very welcome to be there. If you ever go to Toraja and think about staying at Ne Pakku Homestay, don't think twice. It is just perfect and you won't regret it. I am really grateful to have had the chance to stay in a traditional Toraja house with local people and I wish Meyske and her family all the best and thank you for all your kind help and hospitality.

    Ralf2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice traditional house, with warmth and home feeling. Simply furnished bedroom, with comfortable mattress. The whole upper floor is guest living area and very cozy. Meyske was not there during our stay, but her mother lovingly took care of us, and Meyske has organized a good guide for everyone, and help and advice from a distance. We were a guest for a week and enjoyed the time very much. Really highly recommended :)

  • We definitely recommend Nupac for your stay in Toraja. The location is the traditional style of Toraja. The owner, Meisuke, is familiar with the culture of Toraja. Her tour is a wonderful word. There is no doubt that it will be a great learning. I don't know anything else, but I don't think it's the best experience you can have. Stay in Nupac for a taste of Toraja with a very unique custom in Indonesia! Meiske tour is recommended! We definitely recommend Nepakku for your stay in Toraja. The location is the traditional style of Toraja. The owner, Meisuke, is familiar with the culture of Toraja. Her tour is a wonderful word. There is no doubt that it will be a great learning. • Great stay. Everything was perfect !

    Marine2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The time I spent in Meyske's place was probably the best during 3 weeks in Sulawesi!! First of all, Meyske and her mom are great hosts, the accommodation makes you feel comfortable from the moment you enter, it was very clean and even though the rooms are quite basic, everything necessary was there. Breakfast every day was super good as well. If you get the chance to try Meyske's cuisine (additional cost for dinner) , don't miss it - it's super delicious!!! Meyske really knows what hungry travellers like. Second of all, if you can get Meyske as a guide, make sure you accept. We were a small group of 4 people and Meyske organized the best 3 days in Tana Toraja for us: we went to North and South of the region where we got to enjoy the beautiful landscape (especially in the north), attend a Ma'nene ceremony and get a deep dive into the torajan culture in general. We were also lucky that there was a funeral on our last day which we Meyske took us to. The price for a tour that Meyske offers might not be the cheapest compared to other guides in the region but the knowledge she brings, the places she takes you, the passion you feel when you listen to her and her family's stories are definitely worth it!!! (I talked to many other travelers that I met afterwards and honestly, none of them had participated in a tour as good as ours. ) Thank you, Meyske, for making the time in Tana Toraja unforgettable!!!
