Relax and unwind at this cozy post-and-beam cottage in a woodsy setting. Complete with all the modern amenities you will feel at home after exploring all that Maine has to offer. At day’s end ascend to the loft bedroom for a great night's sleep.
This custom post and beam cottage is brand new. Designed by John Libby, one of the most respected timber frame builders in New England, (www.housesandbarns.com) this space was thoughtfully designed and meticulously built specifically for your enjoyment. This cottage resides on the owner’s property, but is sited on its own two acres nestled among a beautiful stretch of Maine hardwood forest.  Accessible via its own private driveway and surrounded by acres of pristine forest, it is the perfect place to relax among nature. No matter the season the exposed weathered Douglas Fir beams of the building will both welcome you and wrap you in a feeling of comfort and contentment. This complete home has all of the amenities. The kitchen includes natural unpolished granite countertops and brand new appliances including a stainless steel gas oven/range, dishwasher and refrigerator. The whitewashed walls of the hallway and bathroom provide a more modern feel, while showcasing all the wonderful knots of the Maine white pine from which it was milled. An easy-to-access, low/no step corner shower complete with floor to ceiling tile and an oversized vanity make time in the bathroom a pleasure.  The open concept makes for a natural flow through the space and the sitting area comes complete with a queen sofa bed, TV and a gas fired wood-stove. The vaulted ceilings rise 22’ above the floor providing a spacious and beautiful feel. Radiant heat in the finished concrete floors make the space cozy and keep your feet warm. Oversized and lit stairs lead to the loft where you’ll find a king sized bed providing the opportunity for a great night’s sleep.  Large windows make you feel as though your sleeping in the tree tops…come Fall this Oak and Maple forest comes alive with color.  A ceiling fan keeps you cool, in the Summer and moves the heat around come Winter. Enjoy the beautiful outdoors on either the front or back deck, or from your own personal fire pit complete with granite bench. Don’t forget the s’mores!
This post and beam cottage is in the small town of Pownal, 20 minutes from the wonderful restaurants, sights, and sounds of Portland. It's a 10-minute drive to Freeport and the L.L.Bean flagship store. Bradbury Mountain State Park is two miles away.
  • This is the perfect Maine getaway cottage. The location could not be better with a 15 minute drive to Freeport and a 25 minute drive to Portland. Vianna offered many ideas for things to do and made us feel at home with a bottle of wine and a note upon arrival. There was no detail spared, everything about the cottage was thoughtfully picked out and placed to give it a well put together look. Once we left, the first thought that crossed our minds was "when will we be back?" this place leaves you wishing your stay was longer.

  • The pictures don't do this place justice. We were absolutely stunned when we walked in. The space created a sense of calm that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed!!! Highly recommend!!

    Bill2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cottage in the woods! Vianna was very welcoming and left us small little notes of welcome.

    Sarah2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Vianna was extremely helpful and accommodating. She was always there when needed and was very kind and knowledgeable. Her postings were very accurate.

  • Dreamy cottage in an amazing location! You’ll need a car but everything you would want to explore is within a 15-30 min drive! When you arrive, go to the grocery store - buy hot chocolate, pancake mix, fruit and bacon. Spend your mornings sleeping in, turning on the wood stove and cooking breakfast with your significant other and/or family! You will feel disconnected to the busy real world and feel at peace in the woods. The cottage is 100% as pictured if not better. We absolutely loved the loft, the bed, the windows looking out to the snowy trees, it was just perfect. We hope to return!

  • Perfect cottage and a perfect location to experience all Maine has to offer

    Patrick2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was hands down one of my best Air B and B experiences. This cabin was so nicely decorated with charm and home-like. Vianna was so helpful in making our trip to Maine a memorable experience. She also added a few extra treats that made the experience even more special.

    Kelli2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful here at Vianna’s place! It was thoughtfully arranges, cozy, and they were very kind and helpful.

  • This home was so incredibly comfortable that it felt like home. It was centrally located for us to explore Maine. It was clean, cozy, quiet and everything was set out beautifully for comfort. The bed was very comfortable as were the couches. We even got to sit outside on the small entrance deck at night for a bit to see the beautiful stars. All in all amazing stay!

    Tawny2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I really loved the place. A lot of natural light and open space. Cozy, clean, and private.

  • This was a very last minute booking as our trip to Houston was cancelled due to storm Imelda! And how lucky were we. A beautiful, peaceful place to stay. The pictures definitely don’t do the space justice, it is unbelievably comfortable, spacious and sparklingly clean. Tim got back to us so quickly to say we only booked late the night before and couldn’t have been more helpful. The area has everything you could need for a trip to Maine, coast and sea, lighthouses a plenty and stunning Fall colours. If you come across Tim and Kendra’s place, don’t hesitate to book, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you both so very much.

    Mick2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Tim's place. He was incredibly easy to communicate with and responded quickly to all of our questions. The checkin process was a cinch and the space was even more beautiful than the photos. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. I highly recommend this relaxing location!

    Heidi2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderfully stay, in a clean well appointed open floor plan space. The place was spotless and featured a full kitchen. The owners were attentive and full of friendly local advice. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Dan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tim’s place is so nicely decorated, felt like a professional interior designer put the place together. The apartment was very clean and everything we needed for the weekend was available. The place is about a 25 minute drive to Portland which actually felt quicker while driving. Tim’s place is definitely a gem.

  • I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this stay! I had to come to Portland for both business and a social visit and Megumi's place gave me exactly what I needed! First of all, the space is very comfortable - it's a full 1 bedroom in-law apartment behind the garage. It's spacious with a full kitchen and bath as well as cable TV! The entrance is private with parking right outside the door and lovely woods on 3 sides. It is so peacefully quiet! Check in/out could not have been easier and communication was prompt and friendly. The space was impeccably clean and the bed was comfortable! The location is about 20 minutes from Portland and worth the short drive when you consider how reasonably priced Megumi's place is compared to anything within or just outside the city. I come to Portland at least a few times a year and will definitely stay here again and again!

    Lara2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

Our historic home, built in 1810, is on Main Street in the heart of Yarmouth village. The two bedrooms and bathroom are located on the second floor. You'll have a separate entrance (front door facing Main Street) with plenty of room for your belongings. Enjoy a freshly-made full breakfast daily, made to order. Our home is within walking distance to restaurants and is a convenient 5-minute drive from the highway. We welcome families of all ages, as our property sleeps 4 in two bedrooms.
You'll notice that there are no cleaning fees added to your stay with us. Not only does that save you money, but you can rest assured your rooms will be "owner-prepared" - that means Barry and I do all the cleaning. And there's no better cleaner than the owner of the property! Although your space is part of our home, it will feel very private to you. As you enter the front door (you'll be the only one using this entrance), you'll head up to your two bedrooms and bathroom. This space is securely separated from the other part of the second floor. Each spacious bedroom (16' x 20') is furnished with a queen bed with a Tempurpedic mattress. There is also a flat screen cable TV (with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video for account holders) in each room. Bedroom #2 also has a sitting area. Here you'll find a work station to check your email or have a snack, two comfortable chairs for watching TV/reading, and a small refrigerator. We've also provided an electric water kettle for a bedtime cup of tea. In the chilly months, we add a heated mattress pad on each bed. You are going to love it! And in the summer months, there is a window air conditioner in each bedroom. Between the two bedrooms is the bathroom with tub/shower and plenty of linens, a hair dryer, and baskets filled with most any toiletry you may have forgotten. Each bedroom has its own doorway to the bathroom. Got kids? You'll be in great shape here. For babies & toddlers, we have a Pack 'n Play, as well as a booster seat, high chair, and a stroller. We even have spare car seats if you need them. And there's plenty of toys and games for babies up to teenagers. Headed to the beach? You are also welcome to use our beach chairs, umbrella, tote bags, beach towels, and cooler. Parking is available on Main Street, directly in front of our home. You will find it quite safe to leave your car there overnight; however, if you prefer, you are welcome to use our driveway. Between November 15 and April 15 however, overnight parking on the street is not permitted, so you can just use our driveway. You will find Yarmouth is a very safe place to spend your time. In fact, the whole stay of Maine is very safe! Do you still have some questions? Just let us know!
Right here on Main Street, all within one block to 1/2 mile, you can walk to The Garrison, named 2019's best new restaurant in Southern Maine by the Portland Press Herald. Here on Main Street, you'll find top shelf pizza, a great bakery, a brewery serving great food, a bakery, a neighborhood pub, a farm-to-table restaurant, as well as a couple of coffee shops, and a spot to pick up soups and sandwiches. In addition, we have a handful of small shops to explore. Take a half hour to walk the sidewalk-lined streets, taking in the character and charm of all the 100-to-200 year old homes in the neighborhood. Around the corner from us, you'll find the Royal River Park with its 1-mile paved walkway. It's great for a walk, a run, or a bike ride. Just outside the park entrance, there are canoes available for rent for just $10 a day. No transporting necessary. Just put it in the calm waters and enjoy a quiet paddle up the Royal River. Within a five minute drive, you can check out several excellent restaurants here in Yarmouth. And remember, here in Maine, it's all casual dress. Portland, the largest city in northern New England, is a fifteen minute drive south. And Freeport, home of LL Bean and a vast array of discount shops, is five miles up the road. Fabulous beaches line our coast, our favorite being Ogunquit Beach, 50 minutes south. But you can find several nice beaches within a 15-25 minute drive.
  • Debbie and Barry were excellent hosts and I would happily visit their Airbnb again! The rooms were very comfortable and clean and provided a nice amount of privacy from the rest of the house. Debbie was very warm and helpful and I enjoyed all of her insights about the local areas.

    Sarah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place. Hosts were thoughtful, charming, helpful, and informative and super responsive but still very respectful of space and privacy. I love that I could stay in a house where the hosts were also living, in the center of town, on a pretty street, but still have my own staircase going up to the suite. Lots of separation in the house. Best bathroom and towel service I've seen in an Airbnb. Bright white towels without any stains, smelled clean and fresh without that smell of too much detergent. Not stingy about towels either, it felt like enough towels for a large family. Everything perfectly folded and presented. Not a molecule of dirt or hair anywhere in the bathroom or on the sheets.

    Mike2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great location with excellent hosts! Very clean, and our hosts made an excellent breakfast. We would definitely stay again. Thanks, Debbie!

    Ian2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great location, excellent clean and well appointed accommodations and a yummy breakfast! Who could ask for more? We were greeted at the door, and Debbie provided recommendations on dessert and coffee. The mattress warmers were perfect on this chilly night. Speaking of coffee, the pot was right outside our rooms as soon as we woke. Breakfast was delicious. Hopeful I can return soon!

    Kim2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What’s not to like about breakfast and conversations? Debbie and Barry were everything I expect when I stay with a local AirBnB host. Very communicative throughout the process, flexible with check in/out, super friendly and in general great hospitality overall. With the breakfast choices and the homemade remedies for sore throat, the little homely features and friendly conversations, it almost felt like a home away from home. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Maine. PS - the yogurt parfait with home made granola should have its own yelp listing.

    Harsha2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Barry were wonderful hosts! Every detail is thought of and comfort is the priority in their home. We only stayed one night but couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. I would highly recommend this home.

We are renting out our converted microbus on our small farm. The bus has a double bed, counter, writing desk, small fridge, captains chair and storage space. It's parked next to our 100 foot, cement floor greenhouse, which has a propane grill, an outdoor shower and it is a great spot to sit and relax. *Winter months* There is no running water. Bring drinking water and good boots for snowy terrain! We have a heater and tons of extra blankets that keeps the bus very cozy!
The bus has been home bound for three years now, hosting folks from all over. Before it’s current role as tiny home, it traveled across the country, mobile home style, running on waste vegetable oil and lit up by solar power. Our family has grown and put down roots and the bus was our first home on this land as we began our farming adventure. The farm is very much a work in progress. There is currently a small food forest on the land. A hoop house and some field space where we grow all of the tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers and greens our family eats year round as well as many seasonal fruits and veggies. We are working at planting many perennial medicinal herbs including echinacea, marshmallow, lavender, mints, lemon balms, California poppy and lemon balm to name a few. At the same time we are leaving many wild spaces for native plants to flourish and planting more native plants to see if they will take in this ecosystem.
We live five minutes from the highway, 8 minutes from downtown Freeport, 15 minutes from Brunswick and twenty five minutes from Portland Maine. We also live near some off the beaten path towns including Lewiston and Lisbon falls, be sure to check them out for fun events (hot air balloon festival, moxie parade etc) and great restaurants. The bus is set back off of a commuter road which is busy at rush hour times, the only traffic is getting off the highway around 5 pm but that is minor. We rent out the bus and a tent platform so the greenhouse can be more of a communal space when we have multiple guests and our family is working on the farm or playing in the field. When we are around we are happy to give tours of our herb gardens and let you know about the best swimming, walking and eating spots around.
  • Really nice place ! :)

    Oliver2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the bus! Very cool and perfect place to crash for a night. It got below freezing overnight and the space heater and blankets kept the bus nice and warm. It's small but absolutely worth the value.

  • Though we only stayed for one night we had an amazing time under the stars at Kristen's place. Check-in and check-out was seamless, and the hosts were super communicative. Thanks!

    Winnie2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this stay. Couldn't have asked for kinder hosts! The bus is very cozy and warm with the space heater. Bed is also very comfortable. Recommended!

    Emily2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • There is something magical about staying on Kristen's microbus. My stay was super cozy and the solar powered heater was very useful during my Autumnal stay. Her hospitality is superior and the property itself is simple but beautiful. I highly recommend her place to anyone looking for a rustic, bohemian experience!

    Sarah2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great way to spend the night semi-outdoors. The bed was very comfy and although it was cold at night the space heater helps a lot. Nice way to spend a night during a week of leaf peeping!

    Susan2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely experience to spend the night at the converted bus. It is very ingenious and unique. The farm where it is located is amazing and very close to Freemont. I would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Maine.

  • We had a great stay and would not hesitate to recommend Holly and John’s to anyone. Great facility and service above and beyond!

    T.Z.2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay. Plenty of room and privacy. Very quiet and clean. Holly and John are perfect hosts. They make you feel at home. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

    Trina2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Holly and John's home was the perfect home base for a relaxing getaway. The room was spacious, clean and charming; the grounds and house itself were beautiful and set the scene for a peaceful getaway. And it was still convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, including Portland, Freeport and Cumberland. Minutes away to excellent restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, many of which were recommended by Holly. Holly and John were excellent hosts, greeting us warmly and checking in with us mid-stay. I would definitely recommend.

    Brooke2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • While the space is attached to the main house, it's very private. While it's advertised as a private room with a private bath, it is very nearly a one room apartment. There's ample space, it's well appointed, and it's in a very pretty rural spot. At the same time, it's close enough to Freeport and Portland to easily allow visits to those places. Holly and John were very accommodating and friendly, and also respectful of privacy. I'd visit again!

    Richard2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A truly great find along Maine’s beautiful coast, this lovely farm house is a treat to stay in. Cozy, comfortable, and classic, it does feel like you are staying with family.

    Ann2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a spectacular stay! The space was so quaint and their gardens and outdoor spaces were STUNNING! Holly and John were lovely to chat with about the local area. Location is perfect for visiting both Freeport and Portland. Would love to stay here again in the future!

    Chelsea2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It is in a beautiful place. The fields, gardens, and night sky far from city lights are beautiful. The room is private and very well kept. Yet, it is convenient to Portland.

  • Great 1st floor apartment, plenty of space (2 good size bedrooms/kitchen/bathroom), and good value as it is a short drive to Portland/Freeport. Hannaford or Rite Aid is less than a 5-minute drive away. Good local food choices as well.

  • Lovely apartment in charming town of Yarmouth. Shops, cafes, and a river walk all within walking distance! Very clean and inviting spot. Would def stay there again!

  • We stayed 2 nights in Jane's appartment and we really enjoyed it. It was like home. Nicely decorated, very well equiped. It was a really nice experience for us.

  • Great house, beautiful yard, dog friendly. Way bigger than we expected! The decor is awesome, and we loved the old fashioned TV and DVD selection. Perfect Maine experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Come enjoy the historic charm of South Freeport. This antique home and cozy accommodation await you, featuring a private entrance, private room, private full bath, t.v. with cable, and wi-fi. This is a second-floor room, accessed from a dramatic original (steep) staircase, and is conveniently located in an area of lovely homes, with Freeport Village just five minutes away.
We are just a short walk to the waterfront and Lobster Rolls, minutes to LL Bean and Freeport Outlet Shopping, Wolfe's Neck State Park, Bradbury Mountain State Park, and only 20 minutes to downtown Portland! Great location, picturesque setting!
This is a neighborhood of historic homes. There are many professionals and families, with dog walkers, bicyclists and runners. Please be mindful of the speed limit and pedestrian traffic. Lots of great walks and hikes to be had!
  • The location for exploring Maine is perfect. I’m a regular visitor to Maine so was happy that it was so close to all I hold near and dear. Quiet and off the beaten track yet only minutes from great exploration. I highly recommend and will be back myself soon!

  • Comfortable, sparkling clean, quiet, and private.

    Faye2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy and Jerry were incredibly responsive, and their home was lovely! Even though I didn't have the opportunity to meet them, they left little notes with advice about the area around the suite - so nice. Their place was exactly as listed - private suite even with my own entrance to the home. Check in and check out was a breeze, and Freeport is a lovely, lovely town. I would certainly stay with Sandy and Jerry again, and I would recommend their place to anyone I knew.

    Amelia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place is adorable!! Really comfortable, located in the middle of the woods, beautiful views but easy access to downtown Freeport and Portland with the car. Hosts are accommodating and thoughtful! Would definitely come back!!!

    Lea2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, private, and comfortable lodging. Close to everything including Brunswick and Portland. Thank you, Sandy and Jerry, for a wonderful stay.

    Lynn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at Sandy and Jerry’s. This was my first time using air bnb and it was a great experience. I am used to staying at hotels and this was better! They provided so many nice touches, like coffee creamer and breakfast bars, that made it extra convenient. I was on a solo get away so I really appreciate how their setup allows 100% privacy. I did not hear them once! The location is great - a very quite and seemingly safe neighborhood with people out walking and enjoying their day. Sandy and Jerry offered to let me check-in early to avoid driving in a snow storm and also shoveled out my entrance walkway and put salt to melt the ice. Very thoughtful and kind. Very comfortable bed and awesome pillows. 10/10 and will be staying again!

Welcome to our dog-centric organic habitat! You have the comfy first floor of our split level home, with your own entrance and little fenced yard, and we live upstairs. Take full advantage of our “stay and train” program (Jenny is a CCPDT certified professional dog trainer) or just enjoy Bliss Woods Farm’s organic gardens, local trails, tidal beaches, and Freeport/Yarmouth restaurants and shopping! Twenty minutes to Portland or Brunswick, with many dog welcoming excursions nearby!
Our organic gardens are nested in multiple layers of fenced in rooms that allow you to safely manage your dog and condition positive emotional response to training. If you only need one room, you get a room with a private bath that opens into a small private dog training and exercise area. Your room is equipped with giant crates and gates that you can use if you need them. Beyond your very dog friendly room and yard are mown fields, and dog-centric organic gardens, sometimes with a view of lovely belted gallway cattle. In winter, bring skis and learn to skijor around the fields. An addition bedroom abuts your room and is available (additional fee may apply) if you need a second bedroom. Our facility of fields, fenced training yards and trainer lounge/barn is surrounded by 3 miles of preserved woodland trails. We are 1.7 miles to Winslow Park (a dog friendly waterfront park, where the tidal waters are warm and very swimmable, to us anyway) and 3 miles in the opposite direction to LLBean's flagship store and factory store. We are only 1 mile to S Freeport Village, the marina and maybe the best fried clams in the world!
We are an organic subsistance farm, growing approximately 50% of the food we eat, and we are happy to share. You are welcome to pick berries or flowers or herbs, enjoy the gardens and leave your dog here while you enjoy swimming at a Winslow Park. Bliss Woods Trails here are dog friendly, but not TOO friendly! Bring bug off clothing for venturing into the woods, where mosquitos can swarm! Bliss Woods surrounds our farm, it’s a preserved forestry area with approximately 3 miles of dog friendly trails. We are about 1 mile to the S. Freeport marina, the YMCA, restaurants, 3 miles to downtown Freeport and LLBean. We're barely a 20 minute drive to Portland’s East End Beach (dogs welcome off leash before 8 am and after 5 pm) and the trail to the downtown Portland waterfront. We're on a fairly busy road but our property is entirely fenced in. You can just open the door and let your dog(s) outside with no worries.
  • Perfect place for you and your dog. We are repeat clients. Jenny and Al are great hosts. Despite the focus on dog visitors, the space is spotless. Very convenient to both Freeport and Portland.

    Kevin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful experience!!! My husband and I were so happy with our stay, and our dog Luca was equally happy. We chose to stay because of Jenny’s expertise with dogs and dog training. She was great with Luca!! Her facility is excellent and we recommend anyone who wants training for their pup, please go see her! Our room was in a great location, just couple miles from great restaurants and shops in Freeport. Our room was clean, and the location was beautiful. We highly recommend.

    Nicole2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Clean accommodations. You probably will not find a better place to bring your dog! Jenny is most accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend.

    Doug2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Albert are wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed the gardens and the opportunity to let my dog roam the property and to train with Jenny. Jenny was a wonderful guide to local places and it really enriched our trip. I have to mention that the beds were so comfortable and the rooms and amenities were cozy and we felt totally at home.

    Kendra2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a unique and incredible place. I didn’t have my dogs with me, but wish I did. For my purposes the location was ideal and the unit perfect. It had lots of room and a basic kitchen area with microwave and refrig. Being dog-centric, it is a very practical place... not luxe. The farm and dog training areas were beautiful, with trails running off into acres. I was carless, but Uber was available. Jen was an incredible and helpful hostess. Loved her enthusiasm.

    Susan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny kept in great communication and was very accommodating! Great value and an awesome location.

    Rachael2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Repeat client. There is no better place to stay with your dog. Recent addition of porch was a great idea. Massive fenced area is great to let dogs wander off-leash.

    Kevin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun stay with unique accommodations. We brought our 17 year old beagle and Jenny was so understanding and sweet with our situation. We could not have asked for a better place for our needs traveling as a family with a dog. Very convenient to Freeport (important - El Jefe and Frostys Donuts) and Portland. Everything was perfect! We joke that after seeing our pup on the farm, perhaps she wants to retire to Maine!! Thank you again to Jenny!

  • Aleister and I enjoyed our week at the farmstead! Kristen and her family were a pleasure to get to know; they have a lovely property so full of life...from bees and butterflies in the gardens to ducks and a sweet pup who loves to play. I'm excited about all of the plans they have to build a community there! The greenhouse with kitchen, seating area, and shower is a welcome treat - especially on cold evenings. The last night, we made a camp fire and chatted with new friends staying in the micro bus. The close proximity to Freeport and surrounding small towns is a bonus! There's even a 24 hour laundromat about 5 minutes away. Great food and shopping so close. Thanks for offering such a unique place for us to hang out! We'll be back someday! ✌

  • Exactly what we were looking for. The platform is upgraded to have a roof and three walls. It’s very clean and easy to find. Simple and easy.

    Alla2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Kristen’s place! There’s a great shelter up on the platform, awesome composting toilet and semi-outdoor shower with hot water, and all on a gorgeous farm. Had no trouble finding the place, also did not find it a noisy spot. Would recommend to everyone and definitely stay here again!

    Katie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

This quiet and cozy house is located in the woods at the renowned Ten Apple Farm. Centrally located in Southern ME, we're just a short drive from Portland, lakes, ski areas, LL Bean and more! On the farm you can meet and interact with our herd of goats, sheep, pigs and chickens, learn to milk, collect eggs, and arrange on of our famous goat hikes!
Welcome to the Woods House at Ten Apple Farm! The house is both a Maine woods getaway and a farm retreat. Nestled in 17 acres of woods, just down the hill from our farmhouse, this charming Cape was where Margaret's dad retired to after 40 years as an English professor. The decor is part literary lair, part Wes Anderson, with many touches that reference Professor Hathaway's idiosyncratic taste. Set at the end of a 400-foot private drive, with a lawn that gives way to blackberry brambles and woods, The Woods House is quiet and private. Our second-growth woods are perfect for hiking and snow-shoeing, and are great for wildlife watching. Keep an eye out for Mr. Brown, our resident owl, and the family of deer who frequent the lawn at dusk. Guests are invited to visit the farm where we milk our herd of alpine dairy goats twice daily, make cheese, and keep chickens, woolly pigs, sheep, turkeys, a large garden and small orchard. Let us know in advance if you'd like to schedule a goat hike! Find us on the web for more information about Ten Apple Farm. The house comfortably sleeps six in 3 bedrooms. There are 2 double beds and a trundle bed that can be configured to one or two single beds. There is a futon in the living room that can sleep two more, and for very large groups a second futon mattress that can be put on the floor in the master bedroom could sleep 2 more.
  • I can’t find enough words to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the goat farm. It was a great location for us and what a cute town. We were surprised and appreciated so many special amenities like the goat milk, fresh eggs, the best scones we have ever had. Plus it was such a lovely farm and milking the goats experience was a memorable highlight of our vacation. It has wonderful hospitality and it is an amazing place to stay in a beautiful location.

    Debbie2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kids had a blast meeting the animals and playing with all the toys in the b&b.

    Karin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay at the goat house. The hosts were kind, greeted us when we arrived, and gave us fresh goats milk and eggs from the farm, and even dropped of baked goods while we were out one day. We were in town for a wedding and unfortunately had our whole weekend scheduled with wedding events so we were not able to visit the farm or meet the goats, which was a bummer.

    Katie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was truly an amazing experience. You are an amazing and generous host, full of interesting knowledge. The goats were also delightful hosts, and it was such a pleasure getting to interact with them. (The library was an unexpected bonus, and I wish I'd had more time to explore it.) We loved the experience, and would love to come back someday.

    Gary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Not only are Karl and Margaret some of the nicest people we have ever met, but our experience on the goat farm was one to remember! We had the wonderful opportunity of a private goat hike, as well as the ability to learn about the goats and their personalities and learn how to milk them! The woods house is a cozy, beautiful little cabin tucked away in the woods. You feel like you are in your own little world. Karl was super attentive and communicative with us, greeting us every morning and letting us know what to expect for the day and making us feel like we were part of the family — and their daughter makes amazing cookies! All in all this location and experience can not be beat :)

    Ashley2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. Our hosts very patiently showed my four year old daughter how to milk their goats which totally made her year. Would definitely stay here again if we end up back in Maine.

    Michael2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience! We're so grateful to have one of a kind goat experience, a real farm life experience. Can't recommend Karl & Margaret's place enough!!

  • My boyfriend and I spent four cozy nights at Nick’s place. It was rainy and grey for a majority of our trip, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beautiful view, the warm campfire, and the snazzy outdoor shower! The king bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the pellet stove kept us toasty. Neither of us had ever used a composting toilet, and by the end of our trip we were talking about wanting one in the future. We hated leaving, and would love to go back!

    Genavieve2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cozy and has a full kitchen and microwave. We only stayed the night but we plan on coming back as the house is right by a river and Nicholas and Abigail provide a canoe for daytime adventures. Thanks so much, this place is an awesome little getaway!

    LeighAnn2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts hospitality and kindness was next level—it far exceeded the hospitality I’ve ever experienced, even at fancy resorts. I was looking for a secluded place but not totally in the middle of no where to stay to be “one with nature” but also be able to explore Portland. This was perfect in every way. From the little home, you can’t see any other properties which is so amazing. Just beautiful trees and amenities to enjoy like a fire pit, indoor fire stove thingy (forgive me idk the name), and the water is right down the hill (the private dock with the canoes were our favorite touch). It’s very private but the hosts live about 500 ft away and were always quick to respond if we had any questions (like restaurant reqs). TBH, I have hardly ever left a review for anything in my life but our stay was so great and the hosts were so gracious that I had no choice. I literally left our stay saying “wow I guess humans don’t suck” after Nick dropped everything to help us with car trouble. Thank you so much!

    Caroline2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space was the perfect combination of a camp and a modern living space. The hosts were responsive when needed and it truly felt like our own private space!

    Katie2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot that is super comfortable and well done with some rustic touches. We really enjoyed the provided fishing poles and cooking supplies. The toilet took a little to get used to, but it was otherwise a seamless stay! Thank you so much!

Come and enjoy our new 1000 sq. ft. 2 bedroom, 1 bath barn apartment. Located on the 2nd floor & conveniently located 5 minutes drive from downtown Freeport. Living Room is bright, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is fully-appointed with brand new appliances as well as pans/dishware/utensils. Bedrooms are quiet & feature comfortable memory foam beds. Bathroom is private & clean & features a spacious shower. This apartment was designed to accommodate short or long stays. No pets allowed, sorry.
The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the barn. Over the past three years, we have converted the space from an empty hay loft, into a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. It was a labor of love and now we are ready to share it! The barn is located on our property, but you will have the privacy of it being located in a separate building. However, it is located close enough, so if you have any questions or needs we can tend to them right away.
The apartment is located less than 3 miles from Interstate 295 Exit 20, but is located in a quiet rural residential area. The apartment is also only a short 5 minute drive from downtown Freeport.
  • What a gem! This beautiful, spacious space with woodland views envelopes you in warmth and comfort. Sparkling clean and well designed area. Kitchen has all the pots and pans and tools you need to cook, king size bed was very comfortable and warm, convenient laundry made our week+ stay easy. You feel you’re out in the country but freeway is only minutes away as is Freeport, Brunswick, Yarmouth and Portland a little farther. Highly recommended.

  • Liza and Co. offer a great new renovated space. Extremely modern, very clean, and above and beyond. Their communication is well above standard. My wife wife and I enjoyed our stay very much here and is the space is very roomy and cozy. As far as we are concerned, we are considering this rental again in the near future. The hosts are very professional and accommodating. We highly recommend this rental for any getaway whether short or long term. AAA+++

  • An excellent place to spend some quiet time. Outstanding layout and amenities. Our only complaint was that we were disappointed we did not see a deer walking out of the woods during our stay! This place comes HIGHLY recommended by us.

  • Excellent place to stay. My favorite Airbnb so far. They are excellent host and have thought of everything. I completely felt at home I highly suggest you give this place a shot.

  • This was a wonderful stay. It is close to town but the barn is set back enough from the main house that there is privacy. Liza thought of everything we could need for a warm comfortable place in January.

The Tree Yurt is quite literally a yurt in the trees. Surrounded by trees, this is glamping close to Portland and Freeport. Please note: There is a main house on the property which is rented out as well. There is a chance the house and the yurt will be rented out at the same time. The yurt is approximately 200 feet from the house and the only shared space is the driveway, so it is actually very private. Please respect each guests privacy and use the yurt path to and from the driveway. Thanks
Park in the designated yurt spot in the driveway and follow signs through the woods to the Tree Yurt. Surrounded by nature, get ready to relax and unwind in my glamping spot that's as unique as it is peaceful. Located at the base of the stairs to the left is the fire pit area and to the right the outhouse which houses a dry flush toilet. Up the stairs on the deck is various seating areas and the BBQ grill. Inside there is a small fridge and another cooktop. A woodstove makes the coziness pop along with comfy bedding and a relaxing atmosphere. Coming in 2020 will be the bridge to the fairy land where kids of all ages can make fairy houses for the woodland creatures.
A Natural beauty. My area is rural with many trees and woods in between my neighbors and the TreeYurt. I am located across the road from an apple orchard and down the road from another.
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Tree Yurt. The bed was comfy, the fire was warm and the space is so cozy and comforting. Waking up to seeing the trees through the skylight was a plus! Would stay again for sure!

  • Amazing vibes here. So cozy and comfy!!!! Amy is an incredible host! Three of us stayed here for a girl’s night and had the BEST evening. The wood stove kept us nice and toasty warm. There’s a really great locally owned pizza shop right up the street ( about five minutes) which worked out GREAT for take out dinner. We cannot wait to stay here again really soon!!!

We’re a couple miles away from a goat farm (goat yoga Thursdays and Saturdays all summer), 2 beautiful wedding venues, apple orchards, disc golf, a farmer’s market (in-season), Pineland Farms, Val Halla Golf Course, and Cumberland Fairgrounds. We are about 20-25 minutes from Portland.
If you’re from out of state or coming from a city, our place is a great commutable option to Portland, but gives you a taste of quiet New England life. One of our recent guests from a Mid-Atlantic city said on their 20 minute drive from Portland to our place, they pulled over to the side of the road just to look at the stars. When you enter our ranch home you will see lots of natural light and beautiful artwork. We offer a comfortable quiet room and private bathroom with a cozy queen sized bed. We put up blackout shades and have curtains in the room, too! You can look out your bedroom window towards our lawn and flowers...you may even see a couple of furry friends looking back at you! 😉 Luggage rack recently added to room. As described above, we are very close to many southern Maine attractions. Sunflower Farm (goats and weekly goat yoga all summer) is within walking distance, and multiple apple orchards are a short drive away. It’s a very safe neighborhood.
Our residential neighborhood is quiet but close to most southern Maine attractions.
  • Rachel and Joe were lovely hosts. The place was clean and easy to access, and convenient for our needs during a Christmas holiday visiting nearby family. They had great local tips and the place was quiet and warm despite the snow outside!

  • Private room with bath, in a beautiful semi-rural area. Great hosts, no hassle, and exactly what I expected, having stayed here before. Highly recommended if the location works for you!

  • Rachel & Joe were my first hosts for Airbnb! It was a great first experience. Everything was clean and organized. Activities & places to eat were also provided for us. It was only about a 25 easy minute drive to Portland.

    Courtney2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Rachel’s place during our visit to the Portland area. The accommodations were clean and well maintained. Rachel and Joe were extremely helpful in providing information concerning area attractions, places of interest, and restaurants. The accommodations were in a picturesque area just outside of Portland that allowed us to take in the beautiful building architecture and scenery of the area. We highly recommend Rachel’s place to individuals and couples who would like to experience the Maine country side with close access to the Portland area.

    Dale2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean and comfortable. Rachel and Joe were perfect hosts, and very helpful about local sites. The bedroom and bathroom were very nice, and well appointed. Parking and entry into the home was easily accessible. The grounds were beautiful, and the wooded area was exceptionally quiet. We would stay there again anytime.

  • Polly was a warm, welcoming guest who made every effort to make our stay fun and comfortable!

    Kim2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet & just far enough outside the town to have peace and solitude but still be within easy access to all we wanted to do. Her ample acreage provided pleasant forest strolls and we were entertained by her dog and chickens. Polly was full of good tips. The private sitting room allows guests to either remain secluded or join the family in their own kitchen and living spaces. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Jo Carol2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Polly's 19th Century farm house is amazing and sits on 78 beautiful wooded acres! Fabulous historic details with modern touches make the stay effortless. Upon your first night you feel like you're at "home"! Great location with quick access to Freeport (think LL Bean flagship and a ton of antique shops and shopping) also very quick access to Hwy 295 that zips you right into Portland within about 15-20 min. This IS THE PLACE!

    Lauren2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Polly, Nellie and the house are very easy to love. Very comfortable space to spend a relaxing few days in the Portland area.

    Erin2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Polly was a wonderful host and her house is beautiful! We had a great time exploring the area and enjoyed sharing our stories from the day with Polly, who was super friendly and fun to chat with! We had plenty of space and as much privacy as we wanted. The property is so quiet and peaceful and beautiful; I really couldn't ask for much more. Thank you Polly!

    Karen2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Polly's farm house was the perfect place for our multigenerational group of adult mothers and daughters (including an 86 yr old grandmother) to spend a weekend in Maine. It was 10 minutes from Freeport and 20 mins from the LLBean Paddling center where we all participated in a kayak birdwatching tour (highly recommended also). The bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds very comfortable. Having a bedroom on the first floor was perfect for those who didn't want to use stairs. There is a lovely front yard surrounded by a granite wall and we enjoyed sitting there in the early evening with our wine cheese. The living room was cozy at night after a busy day out, with comfortable chairs and good lighting-to plot and plan the next days adventure. We appreciated the use of the kitchen to cook breakfast one morning, and the spacious dining room with a large table did double duty for eating and meeting.

    Julia2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a pleasure to meet Polly and stay in her home. We barbecued, enjoyed the ground and relaxed with our friends in our own wing of the house. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the country cottage decor. We would definitely stay there again!

    Julie2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay with our family at Polly’s comfortable farmhouse, and everything was perfect. The beds are very comfortable – we always sleep well when staying here. There are thoughtful extra touches like fresh flowers and water in each room. Polly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved sitting outside after a day of hiking and just relaxing to birdsong as the sun went down. We hope to return again very soon!

Quiet setting with easy access to I95/295, Portland, LL Bean/Freeport Outlets, Bowdoin College. Part of home is circa 1795. Enjoy breakfast on the patio and dinner under the grape arbor! Walk or bike to South Freeport waterfront.
It is close to the highway, waterfront and downtown Freeport, but on a private 1.5 acre lot. The original house was built in 1795 so the property has antique details with modern conveniences.

  • Beautiful home in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to anywhere you would like to go. Sandra and Cam were very welcoming with lots of great tips and what to see and do!

    Lara2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quite possibly one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed in! Sandy and Cam were unbelievable hosts - warm, accommodating, and very hospitable! Their home is lovely, with a beautiful homegrown garden in the back full of fresh veggies and herbs. Cam took us a on fun tour of the garden on our last morning of our stay, definitely a trip highlight! The private room is cozy and clean, with a large en suite bathroom. There is a great kitchenette just outside of the room, with a fridge and freezer to put food/drinks in. There is also a larger kitchen towards the entrance with a coffee machine for the guests! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone planning to visit Freeport ME. Their home is centrally located and makes getting around Freeport easy. We already know we need to come back to Freeport and stay with Sandy and Cam again!

    Arielle2019-09-08T00:00:00Z

  • This was our first trip to Maine as well as using Air BnB; and it was an excellent experience. The location was in a quiet neighborhood; but not too far away from the main roads. The room and bathroom were very clean and met our needs. There was a list of local restaurants and places to explore. If we had any questions Sandra answered them promptly. We would definitely book with them again without question!

    Melissa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's place was in a great location to Portland and Freeport and many other towns. The home was spotless and the room was perfect as the bathroom was inside the bedroom....so no need for walking down the hall! There was a little sink and full size refrigerator just outside the room which was extremely convenient. Both Sandra and Cam made us feel welcomed throughout out stay. I would definitely book this AirBnB again!

  • Bravo Jack - airbnb owner ...tenting made easy! How to calm your central nervous system and unplug into the woods with minimal hassles. To wake up looking up at sky and trees is fab! Then to sip hot nice quality coffee, in a thermos that keeps it HOT- that Jack delivers .. If it has been awhile since you camped or never this is the place...safe, quiet, refreshing- venue the autumn must be gorgeous up there. I will return and maybe invite friends, so they can stay at the campsighrt across the way....

    Abudureheman2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Myy first time camping and this was a great introduction to camp life for a city boy like myself. The sleeping tent was amazing! Jack had everything we needed to get the fire started and to cook dinner. There was a grocery store within 15 minutes from the camp grounds, which is very good if you need to pickup something last minute. Would definitely recommend my friends and family.

    Andrew2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I went camping one night and it was super nice! Jack had everything you need already set up for you, including marshmallows!

    Sierra2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on Jack's beautiful property. The fire pit was laid with wood, there were marshmallows in the tent, and he even brought us coffee in the morning (for a small fee)! The site couldn't have been more peaceful.

    Hall2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience I've had, ever. I'm a single girl that loves a weekend getaway and this trip couldn't have been better. I'm also a bit of an amature when it comes to the outdoors and Jack made it so easy to experience nature without spending hours on setting up camp. The property is magical and only 25 min from Portland. Go for the tiki torch and coffee service add-ons. Seriously, so good.

    Whitney2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this location. The rent was large and the bed was very comfortable for an air mattress. Jack was a great host. Responded to questions within minutes and helped us get to the site. He even drove our cooler to the site for us with his ATV. The campsite was well set up with plenty of firewood. Make sure to bring paper towels and hand sanitizer for yourself. It has the grilling equipment, roasting sticks and marshmallows. There is a nice outhouse facility. There is no shower, but that is expected with the campsite rental. Overall, it is a great site for camping close to the coast. Worth a weekend away.

  • Mystic Gardens is so serene and beautiful for walks around the property, and occasionally meeting a family member along the paths. Each family member was very welcoming and willing to share information about the grounds and the area. You won't be disappointed unless you're looking for city life within walking distance. We enjoyed the 15+ minute drive to recommended areas for hiking, nature viewing, shopping and eating. The house is very cozy, quiet, comfortable and private. We would definitely go back there!

    Debra2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great, beautiful, and quiet place to stay just north of Portland. The drive isn't bad at all, and it's a 1/4 of Portland's prices. The fresh eggs and bread in the fridge was a very nice and unexpected touch!

    Bernard2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The family suite was perfect for us. One kid grabbed the small bedroom and the other took the futon and both were very comfortable. The larger room with a queen size bed worked for the adults. Sheets and blankets for the futon were clearly marked in one of the closets. We were only there for a short time so we didn't get to enjoy the grounds as much as we would have liked. Barbara's instructions made it easy to find the place and to let ourselves in and out.

    Karin2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place was welcoming beyond belief! They had everything we needed and more! There was a wide variety of kitchen supplies available that we were extremely grateful for! The same goes for bathroom supplies. And the grounds were beautiful. The local tips provided were very helpful as well. Thank you!

    Jen2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem this b&b is. The amenities are much more than expected and the apartment is wonderful. Barbara and her family are wonderful hosts. The country setting is perfect for relaxation and it is a short drive to the coast and all it has to offer. I am already planning a visit for next year.

    Nancy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

I would highly recommend Barbara's place to anyone interested in staying in Maine. We will definitely be back!

  • Kymberly was a great host! She was kind, courteous, and prompt with responses to my questions. Everything was clean from the bed, to the bathroom, and everything else. I even got a nice breakfast in the morning! I highly recommend staying here and will be back if I decide to head up that way again!

    Eric2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kym is a gracious, pleasant hostess. I felt welcomed the minute I walked in to their warm, cozy home. Having my own newly refurbished, private bath with fluffy towels was a lovely added touch. The guest bedroom is spacious and bright with a comfortable bed and a warm, soft comforter. I was happy to discover places near by to walk along the Royal River and to find quiet places to retreat too away from the business of a thriving town center as well as fun local shops and coffee houses to hang out in. I look forward to returning during a different season when I can rent a kayak and paddle the Royal River right down the road from Kym and Rob's home and maybe make it to LLBeans!

  • This was my third stay with David. The only reason why it didn’t exceed my expectations is because it was as excellent as I’d come to expect. David and his Marcia are kind, congenial and caring hosts. And she makes the best granola ever!

    Bella2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • David and Marcia’s apartment is lovely. The home is in a wonderful woods setting and yet very close to two beautiful towns with every amenity. All in all a very pleasant stay in a beautiful, peaceful and homely setting.

    Debra2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed our visit to southern Maine! Dave and Marcia’s place was in a great location. Easy access to outdoor activities north of Portland, but also close enough to go into the city for dinner. Also very peaceful area and the mist in the morning made it extra beautiful. They both are extremely hospital. Marcia made us muffins with peaches from their tree (delicious and so thoughtful) and gave us great advice on what to do that day. We recommend staying here!

    Melissa2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • David and Marcia are wonderful hosts and the space is comfortable and very clean. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in after a busy day exploring the nearby state parks and tidal pools a bit further north. Marcia’s granola absolutely lived up to the hype, and we were lucky enough to enjoy perfectly ripe handpicked ( from their tree in the front garden ) peaches. Wow they were delicious and we had a wonderful time exploring this part of Maine. Thank you So much !

    Annalena2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • David and Marci’s space was perfect for our trip. It feels super rural but is close to Freeport and Portland. (Maine Beer Co.!!!). Fresh coffee and muffins in the mornings were a lovely touch. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip!

You can also enjoy the islands of Casco Bay from Winslow Memorial Park, located less than 2 miles down Staples Point Road. This lovely park boasts a tidal beach and boat launch, awesome playground, and picturesque hiking trails. The rural byways of South Freeport are popular with the biking crowd.
  • Romantic, cozy, and intimate is what you’ll get here! The kind and thoughtful touches will make you feel right at home! We spent our first anniversary here, even though it doesn’t have a huge kitchen we were able to successfully cook dinner every night! We watched movies on the projector, and stayed warm by the indoor wood stove! Very clean! It smelled lovely! Fresh flowers, fruit, local coffee, breakfast pastries, and chocolate on the pillows. We’ll definitely be back!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Jamie and Sally's place! All of the positive reviews are correct: the cabin was beautiful, cozy, incredibly clean, and Jamie and Sally had thought of anything a visitor might need. I especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the baked goods, and the fresh flowers. I think this place would be lovely at any time of year and a convenient base for Maine adventures. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for having me!

  • Minglewood is a wonderful combination of location, amenities, and gracious hosts.

    Ron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had an amazing stay at Minglewood. Thoughtful touches everywhere and we felt immediately at home! The fresh baked goodies, fruit and creamer you left made our mornings effortless. The provided coffee was wonderful as well. Even on the coldest weekend in Maine this season the multiple heating sources kept us cozy throughout our stay! I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet Jamie and Sally but we were eyeing that firepit under the snow outside and are already thinking about a return during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoor amenities as well! Thanks again and best to you both, Jamie and Sally!

    Scott2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Minglewood! I think the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was much bigger than we thought it would be, clearly newly renovated and super clean. It was cozy because of the way they’ve decorated (and the fire place, of course!) but the high ceiling and bright windows meant it didn’t feel stuffy and it was not overly rustic. It felt private and was off the beaten path but not deep in the woods. The bed was really comfortable and the projector set up was great. They left coffee and tea as well as a light breakfast - banana bread, orange juice and yogurt! The kitchen was bigger than I thought and they’ve outfitted it with everything you’d need (a microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, crockpot etc.) but just note that there isn’t a stove or oven so don’t plan on cooking an elaborate meal. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. It really exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!

  • Had a wonderful time staying here! Loved it and would definitely come back again!

    Robert2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice place to stay in the Freeport area. Very neat and clean with great amenities. From homemade muffins to fresh flowers, Minglewood fits the bill. Nice wood stove, comfy queen bed too. Tucked in the woods a bit, just enough off the beaten path. Do not hesitate to book. You will be pleasantly surprised!

  • This is a very good home, full of artsy objects and decor. The rooms were tastefully decorated and all the amenities were available. The Hostess was very nice and amenable to address our concerns promptly and provided excellent information to make our stay enjoyable . The home met all our needs and the location of the home was excellent - near all the key places in Yarmouth as well as the highway. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.

  • Janice's home is beautiful and spacious and has all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. We had a chance to meet her upon check-out and you could tell she really cared that we had a great trip. She was wonderful with communication and addressing any issues.

    Amy2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly as pictured — very cozy and thoughtfully decorated. The location was great; just a 15 minute drive to Portland and just a few minutes walk down the block to a cute cafe for coffee/ quick breakfast. Janice was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend her place for a family or group.

  • Janice’s place is in a great location - right down the road from Portland! If you want to stay local for dinner, Owl and Elm’s is a great eat in walking distance. The home comes with everything you and your guests may need - towels bed sheets etc. and is very clean! Janice is always there to help when needed and is such a gracious host!

  • Janice is a very welcoming guest and also helps straight away when needed. This made the stay extra special. The place is close to the centre of town and a beautiful old New England house. It has a lot of small rooms, which makes it not feel that spacious as it actually is. The garden is nice too.

Small, newly renovated mobile home in a fantastic location. 5 minutes to downtown Freeport and Yarmouth. 15 minutes to Portland. 3 minutes off of 295. Very quiet country setting. House has an electric toilet from incinolet. It is extremely easy to use. Feel free to go to their website to learn more. Clean, simple kitchen makes cooking here a joy. Some amazing pieces collected from around the world add character to the space which is already colorful with oranges, reds and papaya.
Bright and airy with lots of plants and unique decorations. High-speed internet and a huge flat screen TV and ps3 with games. Netflix and amazon prime for streaming. Cute kitchen. You might not want to leave home!
Quiet with many parks and great restaurants nearby. LL bean and outlet shopping are a short drive away.
  • Wonderful place for a couple and their dog. Great location and all the amenities one could need. Would definitely stay here again!

    Pat2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. There is a lot to do around Freeport, like breweries and sight seeing. There is a nice river hike and you are close to seeing the Cape Elizabeth Light house. Dan had dog bowls out and a dog bed for our pup to use (thankfully because we forgot them) they place was clean, and instructions were very clear on how the house is run, like the electric toilet (which was very interesting!) overall this was a great place to stay! Thank you very much Dan!

    Meaghann2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great space and central location, while my daughter visited Bates and we checked out the coast & breweries. Enjoyed the eclectic decor and the fire pit was a bonus! Great value too!

    Krista2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at The Mothership! Perfect for extended stay or just weekend travel. In a quiet area, and just a hop, skip and jump away to hop on the interstate. Was interesting to use the electric toilet as well.. once you get used to it, it’s a breeze! Would definitely recommend!

    Chelsea2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Mothership was a cozy and quaint getaway, just outside of Portland. We really enjoyed the fenced in back yard and quietness that this place afforded. Lots of nice touches inside that are great for unwinding from days in the city.

    Tharon2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Mothership was lovely. The space was clean, private, and very quiet. The electric toilet was easy to operate and didnt take very long to get used to. There were bowks and a bed ready for my pup as well. Main Street Freeport and Portland were a short drive away. Thank you for being a great host!

    Mimi2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Mothership was great. Dan was very responsive & made the process very easy. I'm still fascinated by the Electric Toilet, it was a lot easier to use than I expected. The location was also great, 15 minutes to downtown Portland and close to some great seafood spots (Day's Catch) and cafes (Mable's).

    Jeff2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The mothership is indeed a very special and beautiful place to stay. Dan was a great host, communication was easy any time. The mothership is well equipped and very comfortable. We hope to come back someday, definitely recommended!

The Crow's Nest Tiny House sits nestled on Old Crow Ranch, a 70-acre working livestock farm, a true example of thriving Maine farmland. You'll be surrounded by fields and pine woods in Durham, Maine. Just outside Freeport and only 30 minutes from Portland, this cozy space makes a calming retreat away from the city - for a night or for a week. Fall asleep listening to the peepers and gazing at the stars, drink your morning coffee while looking out at the cattle & chickens grazing in the fields.
The Crow's Nest Tiny House will be your space. We’ve got many great things happening all the time, follow #OCRTinyHouse on IG for a progress report. The Crow's Nest is set up with a heat pump for heat and A/C. It has an electric 2 burner stove, a small fridge/freezer and a sink & shower with plumbed hot water. It has a composting toilet. There is a queen bed in the loft and a daybed on the main floor converts easily to a double bed. There are plenty of outlets and electricity is run to the #OCRTinyHouse. The kitchen is outfitted for creating your dinner. There is the option of buying sausage or bacon from us, Old Crow Ranch when you get here. There will be homemade granola and milk waiting for you, as well as some cooking essentials (coffee, tea, olive oil, salt & pepper, sugar, etc). There is wifi at the farmhouse but it doesn't reach out to The Crow's Nest Tiny House.
Durham is a small town with a very rural feel, while being remarkably close to bigger towns with lots of art, social and culture: Freeport, Brunswick, Portland, Lewiston & Auburn. Walking distance is Runaround Pond Park & Chesley Meadows Preserve. A 10 minute drive down the road is Bradbury Mountain State Park. The fields and and forests of Old Crow Ranch are a delight to walk through. Wend your way back through the logging roads and find the "big pines."
  • We stayed here for a girls weekend. It was the perfect place to munch on yummy food, drink some wine, chat, and relax. The space is beautiful and so well designed. There are many little touches that went far above and beyond anything that we expected: from the super cozy bedding, the delicious homemade granola, local blueberries, really good coffee, the homemade kombucha, the view, and the wonderful farm tour. (I really could go on and on...such a wonderful weekend) Thank you for sharing your space with us, the story of how it all began, and what your hopes are for the future! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend the space. In fact I am thinking about when my husband and I could sneak away for a couple nights!

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Crow's Nest is a great break from civilization while still being only 15 minutes away from Freeport. The tiny house is well decorated and the homey touches go a long way to making a small space feel big.

    Marian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were so pleased with our stay! It’s in a wonderful location to great restaurants and attractions, yet you still are able to have tranquility at The Crow’s Nest! This tiny home has everything you need and more! Seren and her family are truly outstanding people who have such a passion for their farm! To quote her husband, meeting them has restored our faith in humanity! Definitely worth a stay!

    Jacob2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I love Maine. There’s an ineffable quality to so many of my experiences in Maine that I can’t really explain, but my soul usually feels good after I go there. Old Crow Ranch and the Crow’s Nest have that heart-healing quality in spades. Curling up with a tea in the warm glowy tiny house and reading the guest book entries from past visitors was the perfect way to end our day in Maine. I wish we were in the area longer so we had more time to hang out in the Crow’s Nest. The house is clean, charming, and filled with lovely little touches (granola, kombucha, hot drink station with great coffee, an adorable tiny gift shop in a vintage hat box, omg.) I really loved falling asleep watching the trees swaying against the sky through the skylight in the loft. The best part of the listing is really the family behind it. If you have the chance to do the farm tour, DO NOT skip it. It’s so interesting to see the hard work and passion that go into the Ranch. Plus, there’s the bonus of watching adorable kids stomp ice puddles and scold the cows. Seren, Steve, Addie and Vinka- thank you for sharing your slice of the world with us. We are already trying to figure out when we can return in the summertime.

    Alison2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Seren was awesome! Super friendly and set us up with everything we needed! She has the cutest kids and cats! Great weekend! Thanks Seren!

    Nicholas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Seren’s place is absolutely STUNNING with an excellent proximity to Portland, ME. A beautifully done tiny home with intentional design and functionality. We loved staying here and would come back in a heartbeat. Everything is (very) clean, and Seren and her family are so hospitable and kind. We learned a lot on their farm tour as well. It will not disappoint!

Cozy studio space, private entrance, queen bed, eating nook, living area, kitchenette, and bath. The Flower Farm in Yarmouth Maine is 10 miles north of Portland, 5 miles south of LL Bean. Nearby park, trails, shops. Flower picking in season!
Sunlit, cozy, and peaceful, this welcoming private space offers a perfect base for exploring southern coastal Maine and beyond.
The huge number of walking paths! You can leave the house, head off in almost any direction and circle back to our house. There's a great path that runs along the river, another that takes you along historic Main Street, and many shorter paths in the immediate neighborhood.
  • This is the third time we have stayed at Burt and Mary's charming place. As always, very nice place, comfortable, clean and conveniently located. Burt and Mary are great as are their dogs (very quiet) Indy and Georgia. Will continue to stay here when in the area.

  • What can you expect if you book here? The best of hospitality, the sweetest four-legged welcome committee, and a perfect location to explore the area. Mary and Bert are nothing short of perfect hosts, down to the flowers they’ve grown themselves and place on the table for you! The space is comfortable, private, and so snug that I slept through most of a major nor’easter; when I did wake up I almost thought I was in a treehouse, based on the beautiful views. Perfectly positioned to give you easy access to Portland and Freeport, this place is a gem. I loved staying here and would love to come back!

Rinnai space heater made the space cozy, and the small kitchenette was perfect! Mary (and the Girls) left us some breakfast in the fridge. We had a lovely visit, and were perfectly placed between Portland and Freeport!

Please note I do not take reservations from guests with no AirBnB reviews. Very private and quiet Carriage House. A long 600ft driveway puts you far away from the road into a secluded field surrounded by trees. Built in 2012, the 750 sq ft apt has an open concept living room/kitchen with vaulted ceilings but bed and bathrooms have doors. Sun pours into the home from sunrise to sunset and there is plenty of AC/ heat to keep you cool/warm.
Tempur-pedic queen size bed. Full shower and washer/dryer. Fully applianced. Comfortable and private. Enjoy the sunrise at the kitchen table and finish your day with a firepit or sitting in the private backyard enjoying the sunset. Just 2 miles from downtown Freeport's exciting shopping and superb restaurants! Catch one of LLBean's free concerts on select summer Saturday nights. Plenty of hiking at near by Bradbury Mtn or Wolfe's Neck Park. Tour an ocean side salt water farm at Wolfe's Neck Farm or spend an afternoon at Winslow Park Beach right in Frpt.
    Very quiet neighborhood, country-like setting.
  • Stephen’s home was lovely and perfect for a couple visiting the area. It’s just down the street from Freeport for easy access to shopping, groceries, breweries, and the highway to travel around. It was clean and a comfortable place to hang out when we got snowed in. Would definitely recommend!

We did have a little trouble figuring out the heating system, but we figured it out. The house was also just about five minutes from downtown Freeport. I’d highly recommend staying here!

  • Stephen’s place was amazing!!!! Everything was perfect and close to Freeport downtown but far enough away to enjoy the peace and serenity Maine has to offer. Stephen was a wonderful host and quick to respond to any concerns I may have had or just to offer insight to any local attractions if not familiar with the area. I highly recommend Stephens place if traveling to Maine any time of year. I look forward to future stays if his place is available.

  • Kim's place is delightful. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast provisions were wonderful and all laid out for us in the morning. Would have loved to stay several nights and have this be our destination rather than just a stop on the way...

  • A very short but pleasant stay at Kimberly & Gordon! Thank you for your responsiveness, your availability. Good continuation.

  • We felt very much at home right away. Kim and Gordy are extremely warm and engaging and the beds are a dream (queen and full; can’t speak to the bunk beds). Fall in New England is magical anyway, but the crisp air and sunshine is especially beautiful when you’re having your coffee and English Muffins in the sunny kitchen. I highly recommend staying with skim Gordy. In fact, we’ll probably never stay at a hotel again; our hosts were so wonderful we’re hoping for a return trip so we can spend more time with them and see more of Maine!
