Places to stay in Oakwood
Quiet little cottage is situated in the back of our large peaceful property. We are located outside of city limits with our cottage being bordered on one side by dense woods and several large oak trees shading the entire area. This cottage has it's own private driveway with easy one level access. It's common to have deer grazing in the yard during the early morning and evening hours. A great place to relax.
Our little cottage is furnished with a fully functioning kitchen equipped with a coffee pot, toaster, microwave, full size fridge and table and chairs for sharing a meal or getting some work done. There is a TV in the living room with internet attached and available WIFI.
Very quite dead end street with no traffic and lots of active nature sights and sounds. Peaceful and relaxing.

****If you are interested in staying June 15-19 (any days during) it is available WITHOUT breakfast at a reduced rate. Shoot me an inquiry if interested! My place is close to agriculture and farm life. You’ll love my place because of the views, the coziness, the unique-ness, the farm experience, the quiet outdoors. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. ***Stays are always available without the breakfast option at reduced rates.
Well, it's a converted grain bin! As shown in the pictures, there is a train that runs directly behind the bin. It provides great views from the upper back deck if you don’t mind trains;). Also, the bedroom is upstairs in the loft. There is a beautiful deck off the bedroom to the back. Many of my positive comments come from the upper deck and train watching!!
It’s quiet here! Located at the south edge of a very small town that’s smack dab in the country, we don’t apologize for our location!:). We are only 10 minutes from Danville, a town of about 30,000 and 40 minutes from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana. P S...the stars are beautiful in the country!
  • The Has Bin is exactly how you see it in the pics on their listing. It’s peaceful and quiet most of the time except for when the trains pass by and even that just becomes part of the background. There were brownies waiting for us when we arrived and Mary Kay provided us with a lovely hot breakfast in the morning before we left (baked omelette and fruits). The bed upstairs is comfortable and the loft is nice and warm. Just one note: if you’re planning on streaming shows or movies, their tv does not have that capability I think. I would recommend bringing your own iPad or maybe DVDs. Our stay was great and we had such a relaxing time. Thank you Mary Kay!

  • This is a fun and charming place to stay! Tremendous attention to detail is evident from top to bottom. Mary Kay was a kind and welcoming host who clearly takes great care of the place. It's a truly unique place for anyone looking for a cozy country getaway!

  • Wow. What a fun experience. We loved hanging out in the separate game building and the breakfast was delicious. We even had the opportunity to see new baby calves. The hosts are kind and gracious and thought of special touches customized for our group. Thanks so much!

  • Mary Kay is an awesome host! Me and my boyfriend had the most relaxing weekend during our stay in The Has Bin. Very peaceful vibes!!! The place was beautifully decorated and clean. When we got in the bin, there’s some complimentary Chocolate pecan bars that we devoured, it’s so addicting! We had a fun stay and we’ll definitely go back again next time. :)

  • My girlfriend and I had a lovely mini stay-acation here. I would definitely come back. Mary Kay is very accommodating and responsive, and breakfast was delicious.

  • My wife and I had a wonderful time at the HasBin and it was the perfect place to get away for a day. It was a much needed time to relax and recharge. Mary Kay was wonderful and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back this summer!

  • The Has Bin is just as charming as the pictures lead you to believe. Such a fun getaway—even in the winter months!! Mary Kay was a wonderful host and the food was DELICIOUS! We’ll be back for sure:)

Rent this quiet 2 Bed home (main level) or as 3 Bed by renting the lower studio suite (additional fee). It is an ideal size for couples or families visiting Danville for business or leisure. If using the lower level, guests leave an additional $40 fee (for stays of a week or less) onsite. The suite includes a full bath, queen bed and laundry room. For stays of 8 days or more, the lower level fee is $100/wk, billed after checkout. Let us know if you will be bringing a dog.
Cute, clean vacation rental home in a pleasant residential neighborhood in the heart of Danville, IL. This home was built by my father. Recently remodeled, this charming home is a single-level ranch on a full basement. The lot provides privacy and ample parking. Bedroom one has a queen bed and the second bedroom, a full-sized bed. There is a third bedroom and bath on the lower level which can be rented for $40 for stays of a week or less. (For stays of 8 days or longer, the lower level is $100/week, billed separately via AirBnB upon check out.) Fully furnished, this house has a large family room with futons for additional guests. The large fenced in area and patio on the side of the house can be accessed through the garage and basement areas. IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING CHILD SAFETY: This rental home has a vertical lift to provide guests access to the lower level, therefore is not be suitable for children who require a lot of supervision. Guests can access the home through garage area and take elevator to the main level, so individuals with limited mobility would have just one step up to access the home. We welcome and appreciate house-trained, well-behaved dogs. Because we don’t charge a pet fee, we ask guests with dogs to please ensure the house is left free of pet hair and waste so the cleaning service isn’t spending extra time getting the house in the same pristine condition you found it in. :) We require owners let us know if they are bringing any dogs and to report and pay for any damages to the house or grounds. Due to allergies, we do not allow cats, hamsters, rats, mice, guinea pigs or exotic pets such as reptiles, rodents, pot belly pigs or birds. The net is - if it’s not a well-behaved human or a dog, it can’t stay here :)... Please pick up after your dog and place all solid waste in the trash outside. There are security cameras on the property to protect the perimeter and entry-ways of the home. WINTER GUESTS, please note - we are unable to reliably provide snow removal but there is rock salt in the front closet for your use on the sidewalk.
I grew up in this neighborhood and so any of my comments about it would be very biased. :> It is a typical, quiet residential neighborhood with a mixture of families, single people. Some just starting out - some seniors.

  • Kacey and Stephanie are the perfect hosts! The cottage is gorgeous, winter or summer, and it was the ideal space to get away for some work and relaxation. It’s located just the right distance from campus - close enough for a quick drive in, but far enough to be a true retreat. They’ve thought of every detail, and they are truly there for anything you might need - from snacks to restaurant tips! loThis was my second stay, and I can easily say I’ll be back as soon as possible! Thank you so much!!!

  • This was a lovely place to stay and Kacey was a great host! I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet clean place and a thoughtful hospitable host.

  • The place was so absolutely perfect! Decorated beautifully and stocked with all the necessities for a great getaway. Kacey and Stephanie were lovely and so welcoming.

  • Having stayed at a few dozen Airbnb places over the last few years, this one is at the top. We loved the space, thoughtful touches, privacy, great location and the beautiful setting right by the pond. Observing the nature around us right from our bed was our favorite part of this trip. We hope to be back.

  • Where do I begin? Me and my husband we’re planning a last minute wedding. We had a tight budget and we were trying to find an affordable place for me and the bridesmaids to get ready at and a place for our photos. When skimming through Airbnb we found this place and saw it said 3 people max so passed but I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I decided to message kacey and ask if I could use their cottage for my bridal party. Let me tell you I have never had a better Airbnb experience! They not only agreed to letting me use the cottage for my bridesmaids but offered their whole property for my wedding photos. They left me the cutest card to congratulate me and even brought me extra mirrors so we could get ready. They came to the cottage in the freezing snow to tell me goodbye. They were so thoughtful and sweet! I could go on and on but basically they made my day and gave me the perfect place for my wedding photos 😍❤️

    Isabella2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kacey and Stephanie have created an un-BEE-lievable getaway on their property. Quiet, clean, beautifully decorated, this space is a safe haven for anyone searching for a tranquil escape. Moreover, Kacey and Stephanie are warm and inviting, and we enjoyed getting to know them as people while also having time alone. They helped us find areas to explore, and provided everything you could need. 1000/10, will stay agin.

  • Ryan has a great house and he is very attentive and accommodating. He allowed us to take over the dining room as our "office" while we were there working and was always prompt to answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend his place to anyone.

  • Very clean and great place to stay

    Justin2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan is a courteous host with two historic properties available for vacation rental. We stayed at the smaller facility, which was spotlessly clean, with amenities for guest use of the kitchen and washer and dryer. The parking area is off street, with good lighting and easy access. Our room was spacious and quiet in spite of proximity to a busy street.

  • Kathy’s place is super nice, clean and easy to relax in. We were in the process of moving and really needed a place to just relax after a long day of manual work. It was just like that expensive Marriott without the cost! We will definitely stay again if ever in the need.

    Teri2019-02-24T00:00:00Z

This small, second floor bedroom has a twin bed with a very firm mattress. There are very large storage drawers in the bed frame. This room also has a mini fridge. We call this a hobbit house because there are dormers in every second floor room. Just outside your room is the second floor 'living room' where you can hang out as well. There is cable TV, couches and a coffee table,
This is a quirky older home with a lot of common spaces Just outside your bedroom door there is a second floor living room with a couple of couches, a television and a collection of science fiction books. There is free parking for one car with this room
A mostly quiet, safe area with moderate traffic. Buses do run behind the house and you will hear them. Neighbors are friendly and notice visitors. We are 1/2 block from two bus stops. We are 1/4 mile from Aldi, Walmart, and the main Urbana post office. It is a 5 minute Uber/Lyft ride to downtown Urbana where there are at least five buses, a Cooperative organic grocery store and several restaurants There are two homes on this property and we share the driveway.
  • I am always very comfortable staying with J.

    Carol2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • As usual an excellent stay, quiet and clean with everything I needed

    McKenzi2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • J is extremely organized and thorough and runs a tight ship. The setup is somewhat like a hostel. I stayed here very briefly before a conference at UIUC and was here really just to sleep, but the setup worked well for my needs. I was a bit uncomfortable that the door to my room didn't lock, but I think this could be fixed very easily with a hook and eye latch.

  • Another excellent stay

    McKenzi2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay in Urbana. J has everything you would ever think of, from a variety of breakfast items, to color-coded towels so guests don’t get them mixed up, to a cute and thoughtful space. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and attention to detail here, and I would definitely stay again if I am in the area. Highly recommend!

Beautiful vacation property with recently updated A-frame home situated on 30 wooded acres with expansive lawn. Featuring your own 6 acre private lake perfect for fishing, boating, and swimming. Relax on the huge patio; sit back and enjoy the view! This home is located just off of Interstate 74 in Fithian; halfway between Champaign and Danville. Only a 20 minute drive east of Champaign and the University of Illinois and a 20 minute drive west of Kickapoo State Park.
The home has two queen beds, and six twin bunk beds. There is an additional queen-sized air mattress available upon request. The kitchen is fully stocked for all of your cooking needs. Bathrooms (1 upstairs, 1.5 downstairs) come with all of the necessary essentials. Clean towels, beach towels, and fresh linens are replenished between each stay. Central A/C and heating included for your comfort, with an additional portable A/C for the bunk room. Private lake is stocked with mature yellow bass, largemouth bass, crappie and bluegill. Floating trampoline is available seasonally (late May through early September) for no additional cost. All guests must agree to liability waiver at the bottom of this description. An outdoor gas grill and a lakeside fire pit are available for use. Firewood is available in the backyard shed. This is truly a place to disconnect and unwind: there are no WiFi capabilities on the property, but the cell service in the area is usually strong. There is a basic DVD player, as well as plenty of inside board games and puzzles for the occasional rainy day.
The home is located just off of Interstate 74, and surrounded by trees and nature. Champaign-Urbana is a 20 minute drive west on I-74, and home to the University of Illinois. Downtown Champaign and Urbana are both home to plenty of amazing local restaurants, live music, and events. We recommend Black Dog BBQ for some out-of-this-world barbeque, or Farren’s Pub for one of the best burgers you’ll ever have! If you don’t feel like driving too far for dinner, The Pink Pig in Odgen, IL is just a few minutes drive away from the home and features “homegrown barbeque and smoked meats” in a family-friendly environment. The Wheelhouse is another great restaurant close by in St. Joseph, located right off of the new Kickapoo Rail Trail bike path, which goes all the way from Urbana to St. Joseph-- eventually the trail will continue from St. Joseph and end at Kickapoo State Park, another great place to visit with plenty of fishing, hiking, boating, float trips, mushroom hunting, etc. You may also choose to visit the smaller (and less populated) Kennekuk County Park, a bit smaller and just as beautiful as Kickapoo, featuring a huge expansive Lake Mingo-- also great for fishing and boating. Kickapoo State Park - Located just a short drive East is Kickapoo State park, offering horseback riding, tubing, biking, canoeing, hiking trails and fishing. You can find out more information at http://kickapooadventures.com. Farmer’s Market - Urbana is host to a robust farmer’s market May-October on Saturday mornings. https://urbanamarket.org
  • Very nice place for a weekend getaway. We stayed there and travelled to the Illini game, which was only about 20 minutes away. Hosts made it easy, and everything was as advertised or better.

    John2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This spot was quite a find. Secluded yet close to I74 made the stay very enjoyable and yet convenient to both Champaign-Urbana, Danville, and area vineyards. The kitchen was well stocked. It is a good vacation spot with swimming and fishing. The kids loved it as much as the parents. If I ever need to stay in the area again, I would rent it again.

    Dan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect oasis to get away from the hassles of everyday! We loved loved loved waking to the beautiful sunrises on the lake! A perfect start to our days!!

    Catherine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is even better than the pictures would lead you to believe. We had an amazing stay. Directions/instructions were clear and concise. The place was clean, with modern but comfortable style. Our kitchen was stocked with condiments, bagels, juice, coffee AND homemade pies. Showers stocked with soap/shampoo/conditioner and cleaning supplies. Beds and couches were comfortable. The lake was calm and warm which made for a lot of extremely enjoyable time out in the water. A fire pit had chopped wood just waiting right next to it for us to use. There is also a HUGE yard with a trampoline. We loved our time at this lake house and will absolutely keep in mind for future trips!

    Lauren2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect weekend getaway! We enjoyed everything about this place. The hosts were welcoming and great communicators. The lake is large, private and fun to swim and fish in. Would highly recommend it to any group or family!

  • Our stay was beyond what we were expecting! The photos of the space don’t do it justice — the cabin was beautiful and well stocked with all the essentials and more. With the large tables, couches, and high quality furniture and decor this is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with and without the kiddos. Communication was smooth with quick and kind replies every time. We would recommend this home and hope to be back to stay in this lovely area.

Our place, Feather Creek Cabin, is 21 miles east of The University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana, near Kickapoo State Park, Sleepy Creek Winery, and other nearby attractions. Our spacious (3,200 sqft), unique lodge style log home offers the tranquility of the country but is easily accessible from major cities and highways. Perfect for U of I events, family get-togethers, or those simply looking for an escape to the country. There is a lot of small town charm in the area--be sure to explore!
The main area of the home is large and open, perfect for creating lasting memories. Both the front and back yards are large where outdoor activities can be easily accommodated. In the summer the front and back porches are the focal point, with full outdoor furniture sets (dining table for six, ample seating, and a hammock). Our loft space has a game area, seating, TV and an extra queen size bed. We also have two premium inflatable beds (one king, one queen) that sit on elevated frames so you won't feel like you're sleeping on the floor.
Country living at its finest! Fithian and Ogden have a few of establishments if you're looking for a casual food or a cold beer. Oakwood has a few as well. Homer has a soda/sandwich shop as well as a butcher, Allen Meats, for the freshest cuts. St. Joseph has several small town shops and eateries. Of course, Danville and Champaign-Urbana have many options for shopping and dining. As far as groceries and supplies, there is a Dollar General and Casey's Convenience Store in Oakwood (5 minutes), an Aldi on the west side of Danville (15 minutes) or an IGA in St. Joseph (15 mins).
  • Thanks for making your special home available. We appreciate your knack for creating welcoming space and your willingness to make it available and share the peace.

  • Loved our stay! Darin and Katie were outstanding hosts. Would recommend to anyone. It is a beautiful house.

    Jason2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of a kind cabin that is the perfect location for our families to meet. Lots of space for the kids and grandkids to enjoy games, crafts and quality time together. We are returning vacationers and we hope to be back next year!

    Linda2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious cabin with great decors, well stocked kitchen, beautiful backyard view, great landscaping and many more. We only stayed two nights with 12 people stayed and 18 people ate dinner here. We still had so many personal spaces. Did I mention the kitchen is well stock? Many air mattresses to use, a special space for camping outside, a lot of outdoor furniture to use, saw the cows, the farm cats and dog, beautiful backyard views, saw humming birds at the back porch. A lot of space to park the vehicles. It is only 15 minutes to the Kickapoo State Park. Darin answered my messages almost immediately. They are super nice and friendly. We all enjoyed our stay there and will definitely come back in the fall to enjoy the outdoor.

    Lesley2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! We stayed her for a weekend for my best friend’s wedding at Sleepy Creek Winery. Only 10 minutes from the venue, it was perfect! It was also the perfect place for us to get the bride ready before the ceremony! Every amenity you need was provided and the home was clean and comfortable! And being located next to the creamery, looking out the large windows to the cows grazing in the pasture was fantastic! I highly recommend staying here!

    Anne2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Darin and Katie’s place was absolutely incredible! The spacious, modern cabin was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly think of. The cows and dairy farm felt like we were right in the middle of nature. The whole experience was truly fantastic, and we can’t wait to rent again. Photos do not capture the beauty of this place! This was my first home rental, and it couldn’t have been a better experience.

    Cathy2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Darin and Katie's place is a perfect refuge and base for exploring nearby Danville and Champaign. We had a great stay at this splendid log cabin. The long back porch was wonderful and we spent many hours hanging out there and watching the cows in the nearby fields. I know this sounds boring, but it was the perfect back drop to hours of conversation, food and drink. We also loved the dairy farmers just next door and their wonderful cheese.

This house is in a mostly quiet area, but you do hear the buses go by behind the house because we are between two roads. In this trip, I found something interesting about J's house. All of the guests in the house I saw them before here. This means that, any body that comes to the J's house put this place in the first choice for the next trip!

Our space is a sunny bonus room located above the garage of our home which is situated on a beautiful piece of property on the edge of town. Entrance to the property is via a door into the garage area and includes a slightly steeper than normal staircase. Once inside, you will find a large common area that includes two double beds, a recliner, work desk, dresser, TV & two closets. The large bathroom (shower only) includes a fridge, microwave, and coffee pot w/coffee provided.
We are located 5 miles from Urbana where you are close enough to grab a Starbucks, but far enough out to sip it away from the hustle and bustle. Deer can be seen grazing in the fields along the beautiful tree line of our property.
  • Debra offers an amazing stay away from home. A very clean spacious loft. Comfortable beds. Genuine heartfelt touches and very inviting. It’s everything we wanted above and beyond our expectations. Loved the quiet setting. 7-10 minute drive will get you anywhere you desire. Will definitely use again if the need arises. Most definitely deserving of a 5+ star stay!

  • All I can say is wow! My husband stayed at Debra's place during a visit with our daughter at U of I and he said it was just perfect. It is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes to the University. Working with Debra to secure the reservation was a joy...she is quick to respond and went out of her way to be sure everything went well in making the reservation. My husband said the check in and check out process was a breeze and the space itself was welcoming, clean and cozy. He said the beds were very comfortable and the place had all the necessary amenities...he was especially glad to see that she had Starbucks coffee ready for his morning fix. My husband highly recommends Debra's place and I am looking forward to my stay in April. Thank you!

  • A safe clean place as shown. Recycling might be confusing for some people unfamiliar with it.

  • Jes is a great host! Very friendly and thoughtful. The place is also very clean and perfect for my stay

  • The stay was just as advertised. J is wonderful and helpful. She has rules, but nothing unreasonable.

  • Clean, comfortable room with a shared bathroom. Jes provided some nice breakfast items (eggs, organic banana bread, oatmeal, coffee). The house is convenient to campus, only a 10 minute drive.

This is a pull out in the living room of a 4 bedroom house and the adjacent bedroom on main floor. Room currently has a twin daybed and twin trundle. Both have mattresses. The room has wood floors, a mini-fridge and a small dresser as well. Trundle and Daybed can be set together or apart. Trundle opens to 'normal' bed height. This two space combo is for busy weekends. Be aware we have several rooms. There is traffic past the pull-out couch from other guests, it must be closed during daytime.
this house is quirky and good for folks who are willing to commute a little distance to campus. This listing has a room with two twins one is an air mattress one is a bed at this time. Just outside your bedroom door there is a living room with a couch this is part of the lusting for this busy week/end special. This bed must be closed during the day. Additionally there are a lot of common spaces. We have a front porch with two daytime seating areas and there is also a second floor living room with a television a stereo and a collection of science fiction books.

  • Jessica is a very kind and thoughtful Airbnb host. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Beautiful antique bed. She works hard to have everything clean to a high standard and it showed. We highly recommend her place.

  • The room is beautiful and full of nice antiques. The bed was especially beautiful and comfy. The window cooling unit kept the room sufficiently cool. It was nice to have a tv in our room and a bathroom attached to the bedroom. It's location is convenient to restaurants and major highways. I would recommend it.

  • The hospitality was great! We would definitely visit again

    Elizabeth2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you love vintage and antiques this is the place. Aside from having two of the best hosts, the B & B is a treat for those who love history and art. The breakfast was served with the finest china and crystal. I felt as though I had stepped back in time and that at any moment Mark Twain would walk in for breakfast as well. I had a lovely stay and would stay there again.

  • Cozy place to stay in a quiet neighborhood close to stores. Great amenities from the luxurious towels, comfy bed and electric fireplace in the room! There was also a tv and DVD player hidden away in the beautiful antique armour. If you love antiques, you’ll love this place. Breakfast was very yummy too! Hosts were very friendly and accommodating to my requests. Thanks Jessica!

  • A home away from home. Jessica is very accommodating and the room is comfy & cozy and quiet. I slept well. Lovely home with a lot of yorkie collectibles. Would definitely recommend for a future stay, leisure or business.

  • This was such a cozy and welcoming B&B I forgot I wasn’t at home! Jessica’s hospitality made our evening here so wonderful. The home itself is beautiful and spacious, very well kept. Clean rooms and bathroom, all decorated in such cute themes. I would certainly recommend this location to anyone staying in the area, you will not be disappointed! We hope to be back again soon!

  • Very thoughtful host!

    Virginia2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica made the visit very special and was a perfect hostess. The place was many time better than even a brand new hotel for our stay for Dad's Weekend at University of Illinois.

    Ari2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The B&B was gorgeous, breakfast was delicious, garden area was peaceful and pretty, and Jessica was awesome! Thank you! Amber Harrison

  • Jessica's wonderful Victorian home was the perfect place to hang our hat while my wife and I attended Dad's weekend at U. Illinois. The drive between Danville and Champaign is a straight shot, and the Yorkshire B&B is easy to find. Our room was wonderfully appointed and extremely cozy, and the private adjoining bathroom was just what we needed after two long days roaming around the campus. We really enjoyed breakfast, too, on both days, where both Jessica and her husband Brian showed their skills in the kitchen. Be sure to ask Jessica to make her amazing coffee cake before you arrive!

  • Our first ever experience at a B & B was at Yorkshire B & B, and they did not disappoint. We were welcomed enthusiastically upon our arrival and made to feel comfortable throughout the entirety of our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated. Breakfast was always satisfying, tasty, and elegantly served. The hosts masterfully combined luxury with comfort and privacy with serendipitous interaction. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with no feelings of awkwardness, and one that we would recommend to others.

  • It's a really nice experience to live in a such lovely house. I like those Yorkshire dogs, they are very cute. Breakfast is as good as what a professional cook can do. And the host and hostess are very friendly!
