Places to stay in Oark
Our restored historic farm house is located in the Ozarks in the small village of Oark. Our house is just steps from Oark General Store, the oldest running general store in Arkansas. Be fully prepared to experience the charm and culture of a slower pace. You may choose to stay in and enjoy the friendly locals or venture out to the numerous unforgettable hikes, water activities on the Mulberry, quaint towns and scenic drives.
  • Awesome

  • Adorable place hidden back off a busy highway- although you would never know it. It’s very cozy and has everything you need, plus a giant private backyard with a fire pit. Perfect for kids. Loved it!

  • You can’t get a better host than Mary. She is so thoughtful and kind. She makes sure you are happy and taken care of. Katie is great at responding so quickly to any messages. Mary’s house is so cozy and feels like going home. It’s so peaceful and the Oark General store is right across from the front yard. They have everything you made need during your stay... including amazing food and pie. Everyone in the area is so friendly. This was our second visit and I’m sure there will be many more.

    Sharon2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! Mary has thought of all of the little touches and everything needed. Will definitely visit again!

    Elizabeth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The reservation was a breeze, even with last minute additions to our group. Mary met us at the house, gave us a brief tour and instructions. At our request she stayed a while and gave us a bit of history of the house, the town, and her family. The house was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated with period pieces. The wifi and satellite TV worked well. The location of Oark is remote and relaxing, with potential for many outdoor activities, especially involving the Mulberry river (downstream), which runs behind the property. The house is just steps from the Oark General Store, which has great deal of nostalgia and serves excellent food from their grill. Overall, a perfect weekend experience.

  • Country perfection! The cottage is a hidden jewel, we had the best time and feel this was a lucky find, it was absolutely perfect for our needs and the location is ideal. We already have plans to return! The setting is charming, convenient to the only café and general store in the area and Mary is a doll, truly a southern hostess.

    Kim2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Downtown Oark beside the Oark Cafe. This is a quiet and peaceful location to get away from it all. We were visiting family so it is very convenient. The cafe next door has a great breakfast. You will not be disappointed!

  • Clean house with everything you need to be comfortable and Mary was a great host!

  • John's place is awesome. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to 4x4 or hike. Clean and stocked. Great place in the middle of nowhere. Just what we needed.

  • John's place was the perfect location truly in the heart of the Ozarks. Glory Hole waterfall hike was just 3 miles down the road and easy access to tons of other hikes. It was just me and my pup , but would love to visit again with a large group and take advantage of the space and the fire pit. Thanks for a great stay, John!

    Jenna2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, well equipped cabin space to relax at and rest before or after venturing into the Ozarks for hiking and other activities! Cabin is located in easily accessible location, has kitchen equipped with the essentials, plenty of hot water, and a nice common space to relax with a good sized group! Had a blast and would recommend, just make sure to get groceries in Fayetteville or other nearby locations before venturing to location so you are stocked up

    Anthony2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the back deck, such an awesome view and place to sip coffee and watch sunrise!

    Trevor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was everything we expected and more! My husband and I visited for our anniversary weekend. We really enjoyed the location being located centrally to a lot of hiking trails! You Definitely need to make the trip to Whitaker point and glory hole falls, well worth the hikes! Went to jasper for lunch at the ozark cafe which was amazing and dinner at Kaspers in Clarksville was also delicious with a great dining experience! Is about 30 minutes to any town with restaurants and a grocery store, etc so come prepared to the cabin with what you need or be ready for a drive. The grill outside the cabin worked excellent! The bed is was comfy and there was a nice washer and dryer, which is a plus for me! I have ATT and we had cell service but ONLY at the cabin, it is almost non Existent when driving around the area so come prepared with physical maps and/or screen shots to And from locations from your google maps while you have service. It was a great experience and we would return!

Our remote cabin rests above the Little Mulberry Creek. It is a one-room cabin with full bathroom and kitchenette. But the cabin isn't the main reason to visit. Each season has it's own charm and beauty; come for the solitude and to immerse yourself in nature. Or visit for the abundance of outdoor activities. Kayaking, 6 miles to the Mulberry River. Bikers, HWY 215 and the Trans America Trail are right here . Hikers, the Ozark Highland Trail winds it's way just down the road.
Our remote cabin on the Little Mulberry is a quick 1.5 hour drive from Fayetteville or Ft. Smith and a 2.5 hour drive from Little Rock. It's a perfect getaway for a few days. Most of our guests visit the Glory Hole, Hawksbill Crag, and Lost Valley during their stay.
Our home and cabin are in a remote location in the Ozark National Forest. Its a perfect place to rest and enjoy the beauty.
  • Jill's place was great! Just as described. Loved the hiking recommendations!

    Selene2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jill’s place is definitely a cabin in the woods and is an amazing experience being off the grid and unplugged. If you’re looking for a cozy cabin nature getaway this is the place for you!

    Megan2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect get away from the city or a great detour on a road trip. I was able to spend a day in the Ozark National forest while staying here. The host provides excellent instructions to access the cabin.

    Anastasia2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience! It is very remote so be sure to follow Jills map and directions. A lot of beautiful scenery and lots to do within an hour of the cabin. We’re looking forward to returning

    Nicholas2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jill and Rex's cabin was exactly what my wife and I were looking for: an extremely remote cabin in the woods. It is everything that the pictures show. It's a cozy cabin in the woods that allows you to get away from the real world for a while. The whole weekend we were there, we had no cell service and no wifi, which was wonderful. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. There are plenty of hiking opportunities nearby. The cabin was clean, and had everything we could have needed while we were there. Jill and Rex are also very friendly people.

    Matthew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re planning on staying here, DO NOT expect to stay inside long! The scenery surrounding the cabin cannot be ignored. There is a beautiful creek within walking distance from the cabin-a must see. When it comes to sightseeing, trust the resources she provides. They will take you to places such as the Glory Hole and Whitaker’s Point-both must sees. All in all, for our first experience with AirB&B, it’s a place worth visiting again!

    Bailie2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Deep in the Forest. Beautiful 😍

    Jerry2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jill & Rex were the perfect host. They gave us the best direction to the cabin because the connection in the area isn’t the best which is perfect for a getaway. Make sure you have a full tank because it is a pretty good drive from the main road. The road is a dirt road leading up to the cabin so make sure you have a SUV/ 4x4 vehicle. There was a lot of information in the cabin to let us know what to do in walking distance. We walked a short hike, and then was also walked to the water hole/ creek. The scenery was beautiful, and my group had a blast building a bonfire. We cook hot dogs on that fire too. It was a perfect night, and how could I forget about the 3 dogs that hung out with us at the cabin. Molly, Bill, and Nena were also perfect host with great manners. We didn’t want to leave them that’s how great they were. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your cabin, you guys were perfect host. I plan on returning some day. ⛰❤️🐾

Private solar powered primitive 'Top of the Buffalo' cabin in the Buffalo National River Headwaters surrounded by the Ozark National Forest in the center of the Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trails. Close to Hawksbill Crag/Whitaker Point, Upper Buffalo Wilderness, Horseshoe Canyon, Glory Hole, Lost Valley, Hailstone & Kings River Falls. Glorified camping w/o a tent. Use an outhouse and outdoor solar shower bag. Basic clean. Wood bunks. No beds/linens/blankets/pillows.Value is seclusion/location.
**** UPDATES**** The driveway was fixed in August 2019! AND there is a new Fisher Baby Bear woodstove in January 2020! The Top of the Buffalo Cabin was built with a very low carbon footprint. 95% of the wood used in construction was salvaged from local down trees after a devastating ice storm in 2009. Logs were gathered onsite and milled onsite for the building lumber. Stones for the foundation pillars were gathered from a local creek. The metal for the roof and siding along with the insulation material were reused from old chicken houses. And the windows and doors are all re-used from other buildings. Building design and construction techniques were based upon traditional Ozark practices, and minimal external energy was employed throughout the entire building process. There is a potable water tank in the loft of the cabin. The water tank is filled periodically from an excellent spring on the property, which is also used for our residence. The water flows from a spring by the creek into stainless steel tanks from which the water is pumped 300 vertical feet (via solar power) to the tank in the cabin loft from which it flows by gravity 6 feet to the sink below. So very low pressure. There is a solar shower bag which some guests use to shower, either by leaving it in the sun to heat or pouring in warm water. Please note that in the winter the water system may be completely frozen as the cabin is only heated by guests.
If you are looking for outdoor recreation, this area is perfect. World class hiking, mountain biking (right from the cabin door), rock climbing, and canoeing (in season), are all available. There are really good hikes on the Upper Buffalo Trails immediately accessible from the cabin. Then there is the very popular Whitaker Point/Hawksbill Crag hike--- beautiful but generally busy--- about 5 miles down the road. The Lost Valley hike in Boxley Valley is great. I really like the Buffalo River trail from the Ponca low water bridge to Steel Creek. It mostly meanders on the bluffs above the Buffalo River... out and back hike. One of the best which is adventurous, beautiful and challenging is Indian Creek/Eye of the Needle hike accessible from the Kyles Landing campground on the Buffalo. I have some favorite off the beaten path hikes in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness (just down the road) with exceptional visits to Native sites, waterfalls and remote forest requiring some orienteering as there are no complete direct trails to the adventure sites. If you are staying at the cabin, I will be glad to help with logistics and details. Oh, also Kings River Falls is a beautiful short hike (about 2 miles round trip) to a great waterfall swimming hole. It is a short drive from the cabin.... and many, many more. Just ask. ;)
  • This place has so much intangible value: the forest noises, the fresh air, the lack of road noise, the sunsets, the beautiful buffalo creek, the stars. It was priceless. Go into your experience with an open mind and prepare to rejuvenated and transformed.

    Matthew2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fun and secluded. We did the glory hole hike and it was awesome. Stayed out there with a 2 year old, 4 year old and two dogs. It was awesome.

Come and enjoy the nature of the Ozarks. We are located at the north end of scenic Highway 23 (Pig Trail). Mulberry river and some of the best rafting in the Ozarks is just 13 miles south. Trails from the cabin lead to Mill Creek OHV Trails and over 50 miles of riding opportunity. We are just a few feet from the Ozark National Forest with plenty of hunting and outdoor excursions available. The Cabin is 5 miles from Cherry Bend Recreation Area; a trail head of the Ozark Highland Trail.
This cabin is just under 500 sq. ft. but very comfortable and packed with amenities. Cable TV is available in both bedrooms as well as the living area. Great hospitality can always be expected! We also offer canoe and kayak rental with shuttle service to the White and Mulberry rivers. Our cabins are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each guest.
Papa Bear Cabin is located in Serenity Campground. Serenity is a small family owned and operated campground located in the midst of the Ozarks that is committed to customer service. Though the cabin is located in the area of the campground it is snuggled in the trees to give it that private feeling.
  • Kenny’s cabin was sparkling clean and smelled so good great location for riding atv’s very peaceful and quiet.

  • If you’re looking for a breathtaking drive, (on Pig Trail scenic byway) that ends in a cozy cabin, with incredible night sky views, then this is the place for you! We loved the seclusion of the campground and proximity to the Ozark National Forest. Our dog loved exploring the grounds, and watching the other (extremely well behaved) dogs that live on site. We drove down the road a few miles and got Hooshburgers at Pig Trail Cafe, prepared by the owner, who was a delight! If we’re back in this area again, we will surely book here.

    Dani2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute place!

    Alexis2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's place is warm and inviting. The heaters warm the space well, and it was nice and cozy on a January night. He has a DVD player and TV with streaming options, solid Wifi, and a spacious kitchen to cook in. It's also incredibly clean. The hill to the cabin is steep, but my Kia Soul made it! You feel welcomed, and Terry stopped by to ensure that everything was perfect with my stay.

    Maggie2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Terry was awesome as a host! The cabin was everything you’d want in a mountain cabin.. cozy, warm and remote. Perfect place to enjoy the Ozark mountains and have easy access to Fayetteville.

    Justin2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

  • Best weekend get away that is still close to home for us! So peaceful and the new style cabins are absolutely beautiful!

    Lacey2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean! Charming! The snacks were an added bonus! It was nice not having to go out as the property is located 5 or so miles from town. The bed is super soft and comfy, nicer than your average hotel bed. The hot tub was so relaxing! It was also nice getting to have our fur child with us for a reasonable price!

    Meagan2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage went above and beyond my expectations! So clean and cute. I will definitely be back. Such a fun weekend!

  • Absolutely adorable place and great location close to the ozarks! Loved the hot tub and the amenities! Would definitely stay here again, perfect romantic getaway!

  • Cabins are #’s 1,2 and 3 from the road. 246 is the 3rd (there are no cabin #s that we could find). Fairly new construction, so clean and comfortable. Fantastic setup in the woods, but close enough to Clarksville for last minute needs or forgotten necessities. Coffee, creamer, tea, sugar and snacks provided were a very kind gesture. Refrigerator goods left over from other occupants a plus and minus...check the dates before consuming! Was nice to have sealed bottled water that I forgot to grab, though. Hot tub had a glitch while we were there, so didn’t get to enjoy it because chemicals weren’t balanced. Hopefully won’t be an issue next time. Cool little place to get away from the city and just relax. Will definitely stay here again!

  • This cottage is absolutely beautiful and larger than it appears in the photos. I comfortably had 9 people over for dinner and we all had plenty of room. It's squeaky clean. They do a wonderful job because it was immaculate. I wanted a place in the woods for Christmas and I had a lovely stay.

Totally remolded cabin with new everything! Very comfortable and relaxing setting. Satellite TV in bedroom and living area. Kitchen comes fully equipped. Just bring your personal items and enjoy your get-a-way! We also have canoe and kayak rentals with shuttle service to the Mulberry and White Rivers! • I definitely recommend staying here! It’s secluded and has beautiful views. Judy and Hank were quick to respond to any questions that I had. They also gave detailed directions in case Imaps or google maps didn’t take us in the right direction.

    Isabel2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique stay and so convenient! I really enjoyed the RV and location.

    Hannah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great weekend! Hank and Judy’s camper was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a weekend stay enjoying the beautiful fall Arkansas weather. Communication was exceptional and the camper was very well appointed. We will look forward to a return visit.

  • This is the cutest Rv I’ve stayed in right in the mountains! It was very well kept, very clean, sweet hosts, cute little adds that made it feel so homey. And the fire pit was great for the cold night and making s’mores! Would give a 10/10!

  • Very helpful and nice

    Hunter2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was relaxing and very quiet. Having owned and used RVs in the past I must say this was top notch. Very clean and the bed was really comfortable, it was just what we needed after a long, long drive from Gallup, NM. Our host went above and beyond expectations by txt us from town asking if we need anything. He is very meticulous in the way he keeps the RV in it's appearance and cleanliness. I plan to visit the Ozarks again and hope that it will be available.

    Lin2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time experience in RV and it exceeded my expectations. Hank was helpful in explaining Do’s and Don’ts on RV. RV was clean and didn’t feel short of anything compare to hotel stay. He even had camp fire pit ready with lot of logs. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE AND APPLE MAPS. Follow Host direction.

  • This place is where you go if you want to escape the high pace tech world and truly enjoy life the way it’s meant to be lived. Tracey and John are the most gracious and helpful couple I’ve likely ever met... we plan to visit again when the weather is warmer as this truly is a lovely place to stay.

    Erica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t imagine a more comfortable and hospitable experience for a family getaway! We absolutely felt right at home. There were so many homey touches & little extras that went a long way. We LOVED the farm tour (cows, bluff views, & a cave!), yummy homemade breakfast delivered each morning, fishing & pedal boating in the pond, exploring around the property, swinging on the back deck, watching deer in the morning-it sure was hard to leave! We definitely hope to return and would recommend the Country Mountain Retreat to anyone wanting a relaxing and fun getaway in the beautiful Ozarks!

    Jessie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The home and hosts were very welcoming. It had everything we needed. Our 2 and 5 year old loved seeing the calves in February and appreciated the toys in the front room. The cozy bean bag in the front was also a hit with them! Tracy's cooking was so delicious too, the breakfast toasties & biscuits and gravy were our favorite! I definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a cozy place to stay with great views and hikes within driving distance.

    Mandy2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy has a lovely, warm country retreat! She is an excellent chef - the cinnamon rolls were delicious. The mountain scenery is breathtaking, and the livestock are just amazing. Seeing a new born calf stand and walk for the first time brings back the simplicity and appreciation of life. Hiking is incredible and a must see in the Ozarks! If you want to experience the natural state, please stay here and make memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Tracy, for allowing us to enjoy your retreat.

  • The Ozark’s hidden gem! Perfect location for hikes and enough amenities that you’ll think about not leaving and just enjoying the area directly around the house. Tracy and John were the best hosts I’ve ever dealt with. Extremely thoughtful and accommodating

    Gregory2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Large, private, extremely well kept house and grounds. Large enough for a big family, yet I did not feel at all overwhelmed as a solo traveler. Hosts were wonderful, taking me on a tour of the property - including some waterfalls and a meet and greet with some of their livestock (this is a working farm). Even brought me a delicious home-cooked breakfast. Highly recommend!

    Marie2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Tracy’s Airbnb was spectacular!!!!!! A group of us came down for a wedding and needed a cozy getaway the night before the wedding, this home was the perfect treat. Tracy was SO accommodating and there was plenty of space for us to all stay comfortably. I appreciated the quick communication and helpful tips from Tracy! We definitely would come back again!!!! This was the most beautiful place for a nice getaway.

    Emily2020-01-03T00:00:00Z

Cozy 1930's styled cabin located in the heart of The Natural State! Perfect for a relaxing escape from reality to enjoy peaceful nature! The cabin features a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, living room, and 2 nature-themed bedrooms! The famous Catalpa Cafe is located right next door with delicious southern home-cookin' and homemade pies tat are to die for!
All of them! Unique 1930’s styled cozy country like cabin!
  • This cabin is great with the big front porch, fire pit, and all the inside amenities that you could possibly need (Katie has even thought of the extras like shampoo, bath wash etc.). We were surprised at how many movies and games were available and the gas heater quickly warms the whole house. We had some initial concerns about our dogs because the neighboring dogs were running around freely. This turned out not to be an issue as all the dogs were friendly and everyone got along. We always had an added companion or two around our fire and eventually named them "doggett" and "doggo." Katie and other renters have supplied a lot of information and maps on the local area, hiking opportunities (directions) and ATV riding trails. Based on our visit we happily suggest that visitors explore the Ozone Burger Barn, Glory Hole Falls, Lost Valley Trail, Whitaker Point, and Magnolia Falls. The combination of the front porch, fire pit, and creek make this cabin an excellent setting for relaxing in the evenings after a long day of hiking.

    Krysta2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brought my boyfriend here for his 30th birthday weekend and enjoyed every bit of it ! The neighbor Roger was very nice and had two dogs that always greeted us .

  • This cabin is located 30 minutes away from Byrd’s outfitters and near plenty of hiking trails. My family and I went to Acord falls (only 20 minutes away) and Spyrock/Redding Loop (34 minutes away). As for the cabin itself, I especially loved the creek running through the yard! It was so peaceful sitting on the porch and drinking coffee. The location is perfect and the cabin had tons of character. I was initially worried about it being too cold since we had a cold snap the weekend I went (Nov 15th-17th). However I woke up at 3 am sweating. The gas fireplace REALLY heats up the cabin. Overall I had a great time. Plenty of movies and games to make up for no cell connection! We had tons of family bonding. Can’t wait to go back and check out more trails!

    Jess2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is RURAL! It was absolutely fabulous. Walking the property was so fun. It was a little disappointing to see the beds on the floor, until I slept in one....super comfortable. I definitely plan to return to this location.

  • This is a great place for anyone that enjoys off road activities, canoeing and being with friends and family. On the border of the national forest so lots to see. Landy does a great job with local information on trails and other activities. You also have access to a Willy’s Jeep if desired. You probably won’t get cell service but WiFi is available and there is no cable TV but plenty of movies. Had a great fire by the river and the full moonrise over the Mulberry river was spectacular! Basic furnishings and beds but the beds were very comfortable! Would highly recommend!

    Steve2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Landy was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay again!! So much land to explore and relaxing deck right off the river.

    Vanessa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very friendly and helpful host. We got a lot of guidance before reaching the spot. Loved the location and view. The house was very clean and well equipped. The local tour guide map helped us in planning our trip. Walmart and gas station are just 15min away. It is one of the best place to stay when you plan to vist ozark national forest.

Everything you would have in a premium hotel room, except television and WiFi. You are equipped with a Sirius XM Stereo. Located in Arkansas Wine Country seated at the foothills of the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks. The room comes with a wonderful touch of nature and a sunset view for the ages. The view does not stop when you go to bed. The skylight provides a beautiful view of the heavens. Just one mile off of I-40 exit 41 South on Highway 186.
  • This yurt will exceed all your expectations! It is super clean, comes with all the extras and super responsive hosts. I can’t wait to come back!

    Heidi2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect setting if you like quiet remote settings. Hotel quality just by yourself. Seriously very relaxing, pet friendly, my Dane loved the big field.

    Erin2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Having never stayed in a yurt was unsure what to expect. Think hotel quality, but it's round and remote. Had a cool glass piece at apex that lets you see the stars and serves as an alarm clock in that morning. Very clean space and the bed was verry comfortable. With the fire pit a great place to relax after hitting some trails.

    Erin2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a magical stay from start to finish. We loved tasting wine with Dennis and other customers. The yurt has everything you need and the trip would have been worth seeing the sunset alone. We ate at Weirderkehr (just down the road), which was delicious. Enjoyed some of Dionysus's wine by the fire under the stars with the local cat Frak (who sat on our laps all evening purring to the music). The yurt was warm, clean, bed was comfortable, and had everything you could need. We are already planning our next trip back!

    Sally2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t have much time here as we were on our way to Amarillo, but the hosts were prompt and super easy!! The place was just as it was listed. We had a small fire and gazed upon the stars. Which we could of wine tasted, but if were back in the area we will surely stay again!! 10/10 recommended staying here :)

    Joy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little yurt! Very clean, easy to get to. Hosts also run Dionysus and were extremely helpful! And the view is INCREDIBLE.

    Nathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We love Altus and we especially love Dennis and Sharla at Dionysus Winery and Brew! They are so warm and friendly! The yurt ⛺️ is a perfect place to stay while wine tasting in Altus. We recommend Wiedekher for dinner. Sharla waits tables there and was our waitress. Such a great weekend!

    Savannah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A must stay location for anyone looking to get centered and get in touch with nature again! Blown away by the hospitality and the views! The sky light looking up at the stars in bed was spectacular. Just go you won’t regret it!

  • This place is amazing!!! Everything was super clean and felt very homey. Matt also provided snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and water, which was such a welcoming touch. We had a blast using the fire pit outside to roast hot dogs and marshmallows and we were even joined by a cute little black cat who was extremely friendly and kept us company while we sat out by the fire. It is a charming little cottage and a great place to stay. Already looking forward to the next time we'll be able to come down here!

  • This is a space I will certainly remember in case I’m passing through in the future. It was cozy and spacious at the same time. Matt took the time to add little touches like snacks and a Roku that made relaxing in the space even more enjoyable. I enjoyed my time there so much that I extended a couple times! • This home is quaint and has historical charm you just can’t get at a hotel. Beds are comfortable and home is very clean. Full kitchen made it easy to supplement restaurant meals at home instead of gas station snacks. Laundry room is fully equipped to wash those dirty clothes after a day of riding ATVs. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard complete with ready to burn firewood. I would highly recommend!

  • This place is legit! Quit little cottage just a few minutes from town, plenty of ATV mountain trails nearby, and awesome little restaurant— Byrd’s Riverside Restaurant, just 2 miles down the road (the only one in the area). This place has everything you’d want for a fun get away. Ben was easy to work with. Will not disappoint.

Adorable and very new cabin with a beautiful view of the lake. It was super clean, and easy to get to off the main roads. From here guests can access the river for boating, ATV riding, biking, and hiking. With in walking distance, guests can visit our Turner Bend store for gifts, wine, and sandwiches.
Turner Bend cottage is where you can view the people and boat activities. Our busiest times are on the weekend in April, May, June, and July. It is very quiet and serene during weekdays. We are one hour south of Fayetteville, and Ft. Smith, and an hour and half to Eureka Springs. Turner Bend Cottage is located at the Turner Bend campground and next to the main lodge.
Our Mulberry River Valley is a beautiful area to visit. With its emerald green color that winds from Oark to Mulberry, the Mulberry River brings white water boaters during spring and summer floating season. From spring to fall motorcyclists flock to the Pig Trail to ride and collect their patches and mark their list. Of course ATV riders love the multitude marked trails we have here in the Ozark National Forest. In the fall the whole mountainside of the Mulberry river valley is a blazed with jewel tone colors that mesmerized our guests who happened to catch our fall as its peak.

  • Staying here was lovely. The house is pleasant, comfortable, and clean, and felt like my grandmother’s tastefully decorated home. Furthermore, Jelsomin is kind, hospitable, and helpful.

    Alexa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a great stay in Jelsomin’s home. The room was comfortable and clean and her home felt very welcoming. Jelsomin was so kind and accommodating and we really enjoyed chatting with her. Her home is a short drive from great hikes in the national forest (we did the 8 mile Redmond/Spy Rock loop) and nearby wineries (we went to Mount Bethel). We also loved her sweet dog, Tux. Would totally come back!

    Darya2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay! Jelsomin gave us great hospitality, as did the loveable Tux the pup. It was great to be able to enjoy the property the evening of our stay, and to meet and talk with Jelsomin over coffee the next morning! Easy to find, easy to stay, great value and great company as well, if you desire.

    Tyler2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jelsomin’s place was a perfect stop traveling along I-40. In general, I felt like I was “home”. We chatted over coffee in the morning while watching the birds on the back deck. It was exactly what I needed

  • Our stay at the moose lodge was extremely enjoyable. The cabin is located on the river with a great fire pit and plenty of space for kids to run around and explore safely. The burgers at the Oark Cafe (only 0.8 miles from cabin) are some of the best I’ve ever had in Arkansas. The only this we wish was we could of had more time to stay! We will be coming back again as soon as we can.

  • Beautiful location on the river. Very nice space, and comforts. Extremely enjoyable stay. There is not exactly 3 bedrooms, there is 1 private bedroom and a large sectioned loft with many beds, but only 1 private bedroom. It is also a bit hard to find, don't trust your GPS, but note that it is 0.8 miles from the Oark General store.

  • Dawn and Kris's cabin was the perfect place to stay to explore the Ozarks! It is an easy drive to the popular hiking spots. I loved enjoying the deck overlooking the river and seeing deer walking around, having breakfast and lunch at the Catalpa Cafe, and wading around in the river. The cabin was super clean, smelled amazing, and well appointed for a small or large group. I hope to come back and stay here again.

The other rooms each have a twin bed over full size bed (bunk beds). There is a full size sleeper sofa in the living room and plenty of space for air mattresses. Rural, quiet, and relaxing. Our neighborhood is eclectic: sit on the front porch and wave at the cars as they pass. Hear the roosters and cows in the background.

The Paul and Marcie House is filled with memories of my parents, my brother, and even me. I have replaced what was once paneling and dark woodwork to bring the light and airiness my mother always wished for. There are many childhood relics, including vintage Sports Illustrated magazines, comic books, 45 rpm records, Valentines from my father's elementary school years, and even a Pig Extractor from my grandparents' farm. My endearing chickens live nearby, and you'll get to sample their eggs!
I will provide breakfast food items, including a homemade treat, though you will have to prepare the actual meal. There are plenty of dishes and pans. I would like for you to wash your dishes and clean up anything major. I will do the laundry and vacuuming after your stay is completed. The House has a full basement which has a storm shelter; please be careful going down the stairs if bad weather should occur. My brother had an extensive collection of Sports Illustrated magazines, and I have those for sale, as well as quite a few 45 rpm records. If you're interested, I'll show you my chickens. You might want to gather the eggs, hold a hen (or rooster!), let them eat dried mealworms from your hand......or just watch me do it! In the summer months, there are usually butterfly caterpillars in the garden. And, you might want to pick some herbs for one of your meals. Three cows usually spend the summers with me. Maybe they'll be here when you are!
The House is just outside Clarksville and is across the road from the municipal airport and city soccer field. The mountains are an easy drive, and there are a couple of quaint eateries there, as well as pretty scenery. There is a lake nearby for fishing and swimming, and during the summer months, you can buy or pick peaches at the local peach orchard that is a short drive from the House.
  • We stayed two nights at Beverly's place and it was awesome. Super clean, and Beverly was extremely accommodating. She even provided us everything we needed to make a full breakfast... Including fresh eggs from her chickens! Lots of cool memorabilia all over the house too. We had a great time, and would definitely recommend you stay at Bev's the next time you're in Clarksville.

We are steps from historic St. Mary’s Church, minutes from 6 wineries, 3 breweries, canoeing/ATV/biking near the Mulberry River, touring Subiaco Abbey, and exploring and hiking Mt. Magazine state park. Enjoy!
Our historic homestead has been lived in by four generations of our family. It has a cozy feel and a charm of a farmhouse. There is plenty of gathering space, including a sleeping loft that has floor space for children to “camp out.” Our family’s father was born and raised in this house, and we lived here with our 7 children for many years. It is a house full of good memories and is set in a peaceful, beautiful spot. There is covered parking for 3 vehicles, and an outdoor fireplace room that is perfect for s’mores, a glass of wine, and storytelling. You will feel at home here, and we look forward to sharing our small town hospitality with you.
We are located in a peaceful, quiet, rural neighborhood. Our shining jewel is St. Marys Church, but also our fabulous view, and our area wineries and vineyards make Altus one of Arkansas’ gems.
  • This home is a hidden jewel. There’s no reason to ever second guess staying here bc it is absolutely perfect. The host are so wonderful & will definitely make you feel like you are at home. The host made sure we had everything we need as well made us a fire each night at the fire pit. There’s so much history in the home & it’s the perfect touch to your trip. The home also has a gorgeous view of the whole town down the mountain. Everything about this home is perfect. & let me just add - their wine from their family owned winery is delicious! One of the best brands of wines I’ve ever had! I 100% recommend staying here & I’ll definitely be back for another vacation.

With its beautiful view of the Black Mountain and woodland, this retreat is a relaxing place to kick off your shoes and unwind. From here guests can fish, launch boat, or ride to the ATV trail heads near by. The cabin is .5 mile off Highway 23 and a .5 mile from Turner Bend Store just look for the picturesque red barn with the sign 'ROUND THE BEND' -go through the gate that takes you to the river.
Round the Bend is a 3 bedrooms and one bath cabin with a spacious open setting for the kitchen and dining area. One bedroom has a double bed, one bedroom has a queen bed, and one bedroom has two twin beds and an extra twin mattress that you can pull out for an extra person. It also has a washer and dryer that guests can use during a long stay. With in few steps, and you are at the Mulberry riverbank for boating, fishing, and wading in the shallow water. The view is spectacular with its open field of woodland and near by Black Mountain. Summertime is a great time to watch for fireflies twinkling as darkness settled over the landscape.

  • Great little cottage! No wifi but you can get wifi from the neighbor house. Mary was so nice and even brought us a pumpkin pie the day before Thanksgiving

  • An amazing place to stay! Mary warmly welcomed us to Oark. My son, friends and I were traveling by bicycle on the NW portion of the Ozark High Country route from Adventure Cycling. Oark is a wonderful little stop and Mary's place is a wonderful place to stay. You can literally walk outside and right into the amazing Oark Cafe.

  • This is the perfect place to stay if you are wanting to relax and get away. We did several hikes in the area and then came back and relaxed in the comfy cottage. There is a cafe steps from the front door of the cottage where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Mary was a wonderful host and made us feel at home. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome.
