Bring your own tent, RV, or tiny home and camp on our 10 acre property. To be clear: this is a low cost primitive campsite. Bring your own gear, including a flashlight. No water, sewer, or electric hookups available. Park in the driveway, not at the campsite. Port a Potty and solar shower tent available on property, but a distance from the campsite. We are generally happy to help w anything you’ve forgotten, if you ask. Washer and dryer in basement. WiFi works near the house.
Great access to local hiking. Abuts (unpaved) rail trail for walks or biking. Fire pit available for careful use, subject to fire warden’s approval. Camp wood available on site.
We’re near a numbered route, so there is road noise, otherwise our neighborhood is safe and quiet. Folks stop and say hi, and most everyone knows their neighbors. Gardner MA, Keene and Peterborough NH are within half an hours drive. Grocery, Walmart, etc are approximately 5 miles away

  • My stay at Trigger’s Cabin was exactly what I needed to get away for a few days! Super relaxing place to be, beautiful view of the pond and when looking in the journal of past visitors, I would have never guessed someone had visited the day before I arrived! Great place, even better hosts! Carol knows how to put a nice place together and keep it clean! Trigger the pup was such a good boy too! Absolutely would recommend to anyone!

  • This space is an absolute gem if you're looking for a remote getaway. It's absolutely gorgeous and has some nice touches for a somewhat remote cabin. Carol is extremely kind and hospitable as well.

  • Triggers Cabin was even better than expected. I had a relaxing and peaceful stay. The fireplace was great for keeping warm at night!

  • We were travelling with a dog and a small child, and this was the perfect dog and family friendly place to stay! The view is phenomenal, the house is cozy and has everything you might need, and the forest is blissful! Carol is just the way host, we were going to a wedding on Sunday, and she helped us out with an iron and ironing board, we were travelling from abroad, and didn’t have linens, there too she was sweetly forthcoming. We sat by the fire place, we allowed time to slow! Absolutely wonderful!

  • My fiancé and I loved our stay at triggers cabin. There’s nothing better than being able to wake up and walk right outside to go fishing. There are trails 5 minutes away and the restaurants Carol recommended were not bad! Our dogs also had a great time. Amazing experience and unbeatable price. Will definitely book again!

    Alexandra2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great peaceful cabin on the water. Good for relaxing and family getaways. You can't beat the price and Carol is always quick to respond and make sure you have everything you need. She even offered to let us use her car when construction was blocking the only road out. We didn't end up needing to but the fact that she offered was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for the solo adventurer or business traveler, or a cozy space for two. At 250 sq ft including all storage, Tastefully Tiny makes maximum use of space. Custom cherry cabinets, bamboo floors, and a fold down ambrosia dinette are some of the special touches. Spanish tile floor and claw foot tub add to the charm of the bath. Futon folds down into a full sized bed for sleeping or doubles as a couch for reading or watching tv. Our price reflects that finishing touches are still ongoing.
Conveniently located between Keene, Peterborough, and Gardner, MA, we offer a rural location close to a numbered route. Abuts Cheshire Rail Trail, and close to many other local hikes. Mount Monadnock nearby. The apartment is within our old farmhouse. Squeaky floors, the occasional mouse, and other eccentricities are part of the charm. Because of proximity to numbered route there is road noise.
We live in a safe, usually quiet, and relaxed neighborhood. We know and get along with most neighbors within a mile of here. Folks generally wave as they drive by.
  • Great location for a traveling healthcare worker. Only 20 minutes to Cheshire. Wonderful hosts, plenty of off street parking, your own entrance, and super clean.

End your day pond side roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.
  • An amazingly comfortable and relaxing cottage. The place was spotless and the decorations added a really nice rustic touch. We spent a weekend and while we initially planned on hiking and spending more time in the city, we were awestruck with the beauty of the lake, the cottage and spent more time cooking, sitting next to the fire pit watching the sunsets, and catching up on shows. The kitchen had everything we needed and nothing beats enjoying a cup of tea/coffee in the morning with the views. The lake did freeze over and if you have your own skates- highly recommended to bring them. Place did get a bit chilly but the heaters were a great touch.

  • This is a cabin to make Thoreau proud. Built (stylishly) of recycled materials on the shore of a pristine pond surrounded by forest, it is the perfect place to write. The only aspect Thoreau might find to critique is something I very much appreciated: a number of amenities to make it cozy and relaxing, including a full kitchen, hot shower, washing machine, and even a discreet TV in each room. I came to this cabin to do exactly what its name suggests: write. And every element of the cabin helped me do just that, from the solitude to the affirming quotes about writing framed on the walls. I would certainly come back, whether to write another chapter or for a romantic getaway with my wife. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

    Scott2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was amazing! We loved every minute of our trip. The cabin is cozy and warm with the most amazing view of Tully Pond. We couldn’t believe we were right on the water! From the kitchen to the bathroom and the bedroom it has everything you need. The location of the cabin offers so much to do in the surrounding area. No matter what time of year you go you will enjoy your stay.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was everything we hoped it would be! We absolutely loved our winter weekend on Tully Pond and enjoyed hiking through the woods near by. We will definitely come back again!

    Sean2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our winter long weekend at Patti’s cottage was great. The hiking in this area was great, and spending time on the frozen Tully Pond was super fun for our pup. The custom cottage itself is even cooler than the pictures can show. The entire place is custom built and really neat! We definitely plan to return.

    Jennifer2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great long weekend stay at Patti’s cabin. We were warm and cozy despite the freezing temps of January outside. The cabin is fun and rustic with creative design features...several of my friends now I want a getaway to the cabin after seeing my Instagram post! It was stocked with all the basics in the kitchen and bathroom areas- very thoughtful. We slept so well because it was very quiet and peaceful there. The views of the pond are beautiful and the stars at night are amazing. Patti was warm, kind, helpful and receptive to my questions. Her friend even helped me out when my car battery died! I would definitely stay here again and can recommend this cabin for anyone hoping for a cozy weekend away. If you stay in this cabin during winter I also recommend checking out the Northfield mountain cross-country ski area for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. It’s a beautiful forest!

    Amy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was absolutely perfect! It was spotlessly clean. It is small, but the setup and organization made amazing use of the space and it felt plenty large enough. The outdoor space is also great! Our dog absolutely loved chilling on the big deck that looks out over the lake. There are a few houses nearby (including one that shares a driveway with this property) but we had plenty of space to play. If you have a dog with people/animal reactivity the other house does directly share the yard (ie no fence or other divider) but it was unoccupied while we where there. This property was the perfect escape from the craziness of life and Patti was an excellent host!

This walkout basement is newly renovated with a bathroom and a kitchen with brand new appliances. You also have access to an outdoor barbecue right outside the unit and a fenced backyard. Our house has access to a private lake nearby as well. Conveniently located near Cushing Academy, Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, Wachusett Brewery, Watatic Mountain. Minutes to the grocery store, tavern, and pizza places downtown. We love our house and hope you enjoy it as much as we do :)
All the photos shown inside the unit are private to the guests. The kitchen allows guests to enjoy meals home away from home, or the guest can use the outdoor barbecue when the weather gets nice. Our house is a colonial with two adults and a dog living on the top two floors. We also have bunnies and chickens who live outside.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood. All our neighbors are friendly and helpful. There is a private lake about 5 mins walk from us.
  • The backyard animals are entertaining and quiet, as I always had a good sleep! The kitchen has a full refrigerator, and there's a functioning modern hot-plate for home-cooked meals. The kitchen counter is set up for a couple at the island, and there is a dining table for 2 next to it. There are LOTS of storage areas for large luggage in the benches on either side of the fireplace and under the staircase. The fireplace acts as a room heater and has a non-fire light display in the face of the unit. It was quite suitable and kept me warm when the evenings became cool. The air conditioning worked just fine. A very comfortable place to stay.

My place is close to Keene, NH, Fitzwilliam Inn, Mount Monadnock, Rhododendron State Park. You’ll love my place because of The calm surroundings, shade and sunshine ease of access to everything in the Monadnock Region. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Just to be clear the beach is across the road, (which is about 10' wide) and slightly to the left of my house.
Inside the cottage is basically a one bedroom cottage with a large Sunroom and common Living Room/Kitchen/Dinning/Great Room. There are full sized pull out sofas' in the Sunroom and Living Room. The Sunroom offers as much privacy as a Bedroom; the Living Room does not. There's a deck that wraps around the house and a patio in the backyard. There is also an out door shower off the patio so you can shower off after coming up from the beech and a large fireplace with patio in the side yard.
Fitzwilliam New Hampshire is the quintessential New England town and was featured as such many years ago on the Today Show! The Fitzwilliam Inn is a short drive, (@ 3 minutes), down the road and has an excellent Dinning Room and Bar. Mount Monadnock is about 15 minutes away and is the second most hiked mountain in the world I am told. Keene, New Hampshire is about a 15-20 minute drive north on NH Route 12 and offers a full set of conveniences for shopping, dinning and entertainment.
  • What a wonderful place! Spectacularly beautiful in the fall colors. Quiet and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle. Fantastic walks. A great place to decompress from everyday life. Dick responded in light speed to our only question. A warm host with a great sense of humor.

The room can accommodate only one person. It's about 100sf, which isn't very big. It's ideal for short stays, or as one guest says, it feels monastic. There is plenty of storage for extended stays. We live in a 3-bedroom, 1.5-bath, two-story, cape. You're welcome to use any of the common areas to relax and enjoy your stay, such as use of the kitchen, living room and backyard. We have limited off-street, tandem parking and there are no parking restrictions in our neighborhood. If space isn't available, or you don't want to be blocked in, there is street parking on our quiet, rural road.
We live in a quiet, almost rural, neighborhood on the corner of a 4-way intersection. There's a house on each corner. Lots of trees and minimal traffic. Sometimes we can hear route 31, but that's rare. You will have nearly no interactions with the neighbors. There's a small commercial area at a rotary near our home. There are a couple restaurants and ice cream place. A short drive father to downtown there's a café, local brewery, and some restaurants. Some of our local favorites: Dario's Restante, 187 River St Mill No 3, 85 Westminster St River Styx Brewery, 166 Boulder Dr Strong Style Coffee, 37 Cushing St Zapata Mexican Cocina, 23 Lunenburg St ::Some local attractions or destinations:: Boston - 1.25 hours/60 miles Fitchburg State University - by car: 5 minutes/2.1 miles; by foot: 30 minutes/1.6 miles Greenfield, MA - 1.1 hours/51 miles Harvard, MA - 30 minutes/18 miles Harvard University - 1 hour/44 miles; via public transit: 2.5 hours Keene, NH - 55 minutes/37 miles Leominster State Forest - 20 minutes/8 miles Leominster, MA - by car: 20 minutes/7 miles; by public trans: 1.33 hours Wachusett Mountain Ski Area - 20 minutes/11 miles Worcester - 40 minutes/30 miles If you view our Guidebook at the bottom of this page, I have noted a number of local places. WATERFRONT LAKEHOUSE (swim, boat, fish) in a private setting directly on spring fed, crystal clear Lake Mattawa. Large, flat backyard with the tranquil sounds of a waterfall at the edge of the property. Recently renovated, open concept with a wood fireplace and pellet stove. The house is well designed and provides a beautiful setting for your vacation.
As you enter the house from the kitchen you immediately see the lake from across the room. It’s amazing how relaxed you feel the moment you walk in the house. There are hardwood floors throughout and wood beams in the ceiling that give it a rustic feel. Most of the house has been recently updated and has an open concept design. The internet works great and we have "YouTube TV" for live TV and Showtime. There is a DVD player in the finished basement and we have a bunch of movies you can use. We also have a few classic board games. There is an iPhone charger and a Bluetooth speaker. There are two new kayaks, a canoe and floats for your use. We have 3 adult life jackets and 2 kid size life jackets. Youth less than 12 must wear jackets while boating and from 9/15 through May 15 adults must wear them while in the boat. During the summer months adults don’t have to wear the jackets but they must have them in the boats. The house comes with a brown carport that fits 2 cars. In the months when there is no snow, you can park in the road next to the house.
This is a very quiet wooded area and the house sits on 1.25 acre. The view of the lake is great with a large, flat back yard that leads directly to the lake. There is a dirt road to get to the house. In the winter you will want to have an AWD vehicle in case there is snow (if no snow, you’ll be fine). Please refer to the pictures on the site to make sure you don’t miss the turn for the driveway. You’ll need a car to get to shopping, restaurants and local attractions. I recommend getting your groceries first so that you don’t have to go back out shopping. Boston = 76 Miles, Worcester = 40 Miles, Springfield= 41 Miles, Amherst = 21 Miles, Brattleboro VT 29 Miles
  • This was a very nice house. The condition was very functional and clean. The location is excellent, on the water with lake access for swimming, fishing and canoeing. The house was very comfortable. It was easy to change the temperature.

    Spiro2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The views are incredible and the house was way better than expected. If you have time definitely go to the waterfall.

    Hannah2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the lake house during February and it was truly lovely. Very comfortable rooms and big house with an amazing view of the lake. It was cozy and relaxing. Thankfully, it wasn’t snowing those days so it was relatively easy to drive in and out of the garage. It might get a bit more complicated if it’s snowy/icy. Also, it must be a dream in the summer with that great porch, bbq, and backyard. It has a really good location if you’re trying to explore different places as well. We drove to Wachusset Ski park one day and another day we drove around and up to Brattleboro and New Hampshire. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

    Lillian2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with a lawn down to the water. Great swimming and canoe access. Home itself is very open concept that's great for conversation. Separate spaces for quiet time too. Immaculately kept inside and out. The combination of the great place and easy to connect with host can't be beat.

    Doug2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place on the lake! Very clean with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. Host always responded quickly. View is amazing. We will be using this place again if available.

  • Location is perfect - right on a quiet lake with great views from the back deck. Janice was quick with responses and offering tips before we got to the property, which made check-in super easy. Keeping it on the list for future getaway weekends.

    Russ2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house and entire process was great. Spotlessly clean and great location on the lake.

    Greg2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Janice's lakefront house is absolutely lovely. Everything was clean, and the house is large, newly renovated, and very pleasant. The space heated up quickly when we turned up the heat and there were plenty of blankets, important for a chilly January weekend! We loved the tranquil views of the mostly iced-over lake and the relaxing sound of some melted water flowing nearby. The kitchen also had everything we needed for some light cooking/reheating while at home. We truly didn't want to leave at the end of our short visit!

This is a wonderful place to put aside your busy life. Enjoying a warm cup of coffee on the deck as the sun rises. The thin layer of fog dancing across the water as the ducks makes the only ripples to be seen. As you’re basking in the sun, playing on the water and lying on the hammock letting your worries disappear. The smell of steaks on the grill, corn on the cob and watermelon set up on the picnic table. In the evening as you finish your day with nice glass of wine watching the sunset.
  • Awesome stay. Had a great time on the lake with the kids, and having a fire at night. Everything was exceptional.

Quiet water front Lake house. A rustic retreat ideal for writers and nature lovers with water access and dock. Enjoy the the sunshine on the deck or the shade on the patio while you grill. Great blue herons, turtles and eagles are regular visitors. The house offers lots of space and is the perfect getaway. So secluded you'd never suspect it is less than a mile from route 2.
A gorgeous but not pristine house, a work in progress. Guests must be ok with quirky appliances, a few mice and deer heads on the walls. We ask that guests be mindful of water use and respectful of peace and quiet. Level changes and stairs. There is a bedroom with private bath upstairs and an air mattress and pullout couch downstairs with shared bath. No smoking on the property.
Very quiet, few year round houses. Less than ten minutes to town center and stores.
  • Everything was fantastic: the house was beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed. The location was relaxing. Karen and Frank were so unbelievably accommodative and hospitable. We had the most wonderful time this winter and will certainly be back in the summertime!

There is nearby hiking and boating, as well as cycling, and we hope to return for future getaways.

  • David greeted me upon arrival and gave a tour of his home. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Overall David was a very friendly host and I would definitely stay here again.

The house itself is in a private location and is very quiet, but is still a short drive to town. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable; me and my wife would definitely stay here again.

  • David and Linda made us feel very welcome. The loft room we stayed in was spacious and perfect. Linda was kind enough to point out a nice short trail right in her backyard that led to a beautiful pond we explored. Overall it was a great stay :)

  • Highly recommended. Friendly host, beautiful location, & a very short drive to the Mass State triathlon in Winchenden. My husband & son stayed at David's for one night. Comfortable bed & air mattress. Communicating with David & his wife was prompt & easy. My husband & son are happy they stayed here instead of a hotel before doing the triathlon. They will be back!

Choose from two lovely guest rooms with double beds in a cozy, clean and quiet wooded setting. Enjoy the view and calm from the large front deck, or smaller upper deck. My home is a colorful, living gallery of local artist's work with 1.5 shared bathrooms. Coffee and tea are always available. I work from home frequently, and am happy to answer questions.
This is a family home on a rural dirt road with two hundred beautiful acres of woodland and streams. We are 20 minutes from Amherst, MA. and just minutes from the Montague Bookmill, Peace Pagoda, Montague Retreat Center and Temenos Retreat Center as well as 10 minutes from Quabbin Reservoir trails. There is one affectionate large dog named Darby, and young cat named Spikely to welcome you.
The Village Coop is a mile and half away down the road and has coffee, food and high speed internet and is a wonderful community space. I am also 10 minutes away from the Montague Bookmill which is another local gathering spot with not only wonderful bookstore, but great restaurants with fantastic river view and gift store. Lake Wyola is 10 minutes away for state park swimming and trails in summer. The Montague Retreat Center and Temenos retreat center are within 5 miles, and the Quabbin reservoir is wonder for hiking and wildlife.
  • We had a wonderful stay. Lois was very communicative, kind, helpful in helping us find our way around the area. She has very friendly animals that were a joy to interact with. A super creative house. Clean, comfy warm bed and shower. Great breakfast suggestion at the local co-op and an art exhibit at a local museum. Short and easy drive to Northampton where we love walking around and getting tea. Will definitely plan to stay there again the next time we are heading up north.

    Michelle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay with Lois was as great as the first, definitely thinking to arrange a third. Her cat Spikely and dog Darby bring lots of playful fun to evening chats. Peaceful place, nice conversation, cozy bed! Lois Lane is the place to be.

    Robert2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lois has a wonderful out-of-the-way country home in a deeply peaceful setting, full of eclectic charm and fantastic artistic surprises everywhere. Lois is kind and very real, a great conversationalist, and her wonderful dog and cat, Darby and Spikely, will want to be your new best friends. We miss them already. If you want to get away from it all, but still feel like you're in a welcoming home, "Lois Lane" is the place you're looking for.

    Mark2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Lake Mattawa! Our charming house on the lake offers beautiful views from the elevated deck, as well as a private dock to jump right into the clear water. In cooler weather, enjoy a fire in the fieldstone fireplace. The house is close to all that Western Massachusetts has to offer during all 4 seasons - hiking, fishing, skiing, antiquing & more. 30 minutes from Amherst & Greenfield, 45 from Keene NH & Brattleboro VT, 60 from Springfield & Worcester, & 90 from Providence and Boston.
The house is a lake retreat built in the 1950s from salvaged 19th century barn timbers and includes a fieldstone fireplace. The fireplace is usable throughout the year. The living room, kitchen and dining area are on the first floor and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. The queen bedroom is accessible through the bathroom. There is a deck overlooking the lake as well as a private dock directly across the street from the house with a canoe and kayak. The canoe & kayak are usable as long as the lake is ice-free (generally April through November). The lake is well stocked and is a popular spot for local fishermen all year round. Lake Mattawa has a 10HP limit for boats, so there aren't any jetskis or loud motorboats.
The house is located on a rural road lined with a mixture of summer and year-round homes. There is a small town beach less than half a mile down the road that's perfect for small children. Orange Center is less than 10 minutes from the house, and there are restaurants, gas stations, pharmacies and grocery stores all within 15 minutes of the house.
  • Very comfortable accommodations with a well equipped kitchen in a quiet location. Would definitely visit again.

    Linda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eric and Joanne's cabin on the lake is a great option for a peaceful stay in a quiet area. The house itself is charming and well-maintained, and the hosts provide you virtually everything you'd need in terms of kitchen supplies and amenities. Communication was always easy and we didn't encounter any issues during our weekend stay. Would certainly recommend.

    Matt2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was immaculate! We loved the fireplace and the big kitchen that had everything we needed. The location was great as we were so close to so many different hiking trails and the Quabbin Reservoir Nature Reserve. We would definitely go back.

  • Had a fantastic winter weekend getaway at Eric’s cabin - beautiful location and lake views, cozy space with a fireplace, nearby trails and a great brewery a few minutes drive away. Couldn’t ask for more. Eric was very responsive and accommodating. Would love to stay again!

  • We had a wonderful time staying in April’s yurt and would love to come back again. The interior was beautifully decorated and we were given a lot of privacy. There’s no heat inside so be prepared if you go in colder weather. The fire pit was a great addition!

    Morgan2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay for a weekend getaway. Definitely a unique experience. Would recommend if the weather is warm or probably in October. I think once it hits November, since it’s more north than NYC it’s a bit too cold for my liking. But will definitely try to return when the weather is nicer. April is a fantastic host and even let us try some of the pears she recently harvested! :)

    Jessica2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Despite the cold weather, we had an excellent stay in the yurt. The location was beautiful and quiet, and the yurt itself was spotless and very well equipped. One thing to note is that I lost cell reception once we arrived, so make sure you ask any questions you might have before arrival! Thanks for a great stay, April!

    Rachael2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the yurt was a great, cozy getaway. I wish we'd been able to stay longer and explore the area more, and also enjoy the chance to really be away.

    Jennifer2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice little place, cozy and fun.

    Douglas2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Had everything we needed. The yurt is extremely well decorated. All very thoughtful. We had an option of a big hotel room- this is the choice to make - hands down. Knowing there was no heat source we wanted this option anyway. Even though it was COLD in the morning getting up, we were comfy sleeping.

    Ginny2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully appointed yurt in a lovely secluded woodland setting. Clever lighting options make the interior stunning as the night draws in. Very comfy and relaxing stay.

    Antony2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were traveling back from coastal Maine, and found this yurt on Airbnb. It wasn't experienced we have been hoping for for a while, so it was with great excitement that we ended up at April's beautiful space. You have all the privacy you could want, and the accommodations are clean and gorgeous. April is a dyer, and she creates gorgeous "pragmatic art" in the form of pillows and bedspreads. You see them in the pictures, but seeing them in person and also meeting April, it brings them to life, making them all the more beautiful. If you want a very simple stay, with everything you need provided--but glamping style, with solar lights, firepit, composting toilet, solar shower hanging from a clothesline, BOOK IT! Much joy in our memories of being there. Thank you, April.

  • This was an absolutely amazing time! Check-in was smooth with all instructions having been written out clearly on how to make our stay that much better. Many suggestions on what things go do in the area, and so many things to do right at home! The lake had frozen over so we were able to go ice skating, which was a pleasant surprise. The ping pong table was a blast once it had gotten darker out. We were able to buy groceries and make meals at home because the kitchen had everything that we needed to cook! The house provides us with a stress-free getaway and gave us memories that we’ll never forget!

  • Patti’s cottage was fantastic! My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the cottage over a long weekend. The setting is picturesque and the cottage has a ton of great amenities. We ended up cooking multiple meals using the oven and stovetop and appreciated having lots of pots, pans, and cooking utensils available. The full size coffee pot was an added bonus. Patti is a great host and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The game room is super cool and we had a great time playing Pac-Man and Space Invaders. We definitely plan on coming back again, perhaps in the summer or fall.

  • Specifically went for ice fishing and we were not disappointed. Caught a "big" trout! Spent more time outside than in having campfire, doing some sledding, and lots of fishing.

  • When you see the pics of this lovely place you can't imagine how the real thing looks like! Every detail is taken care of, from the comforters to the curtains, to the towels and every possible amenity. We stayed warm and had everything we needed, especially a stunning view on the pond when we opened our eyes in the morning.

MY PROPERTY IS AVAILABLE ONLY FROM SUNDAY EVENING AT 5PM TO 5PM on FRIDAY. The cottage is on a secluded pond, no motorboats, great swimming and fishing. My place is great for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). My cottage is close to Yankee Candle Factory Store and the Butterfly Museum in Deerfield MA., which are 45 minutes away on I-91.
  • We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere on the lake. There is a YMCA camp at the right end. It was nice seeing the kids learn how to paddle, swim, and sail. There is also a quiet campground way on the other side of the lake and a small beach area and canoe launch to the left. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of four.. 2 couches, daybed with trundle in the living room; small bedroom with bunk beds; loft above kitchen has queen size mattress. Kitchen was perfect size. Large picnic table and gas grill on the side deck. Lots of seating on back deck overlooking the water, even a Rubbermaid adult rocking chair and one for little kids. The dock was just the right size for fishing. If you look closely at night you will see 2 snapping turtles on the hunt after 10 pm. The water is very clean and crystal clear. We had lots of fun swimming and it is not very deep unless you swim far from shore. My daughter loved using the paddle boat, and I used 2 of the available canoes. One is very long, great for 2 or 3 people. The other one was about 10ft, perfect for solo adventures. The seat was cracked, but I had a cushion that I use in my kayak so it was fine. There are millions of wild blueberries all along the lake! We also took our fishing poles, even though we didn't catch anything. There was a crazy storm on our third day that knocked down branches and killed the electricity for about 12 hours, but it just added to the adventure.

  • Lovely little cabin right on the water and great for swimming, canoeing, fishing. I’d stay again and the cabin is small but has everything you need.

  • Quaint rustic cabin in a beautiful location on the water. Bill and his wife met us at check in to provide a personal tour and answer any questions. The cabin has a lot of character and personal touch.

  • Amazing location! Thoroughly enjoyed the rustic space...perfect spot to unplug and relax with my dog! I think he misses it already...

  • I am absolutely in love with Bill's special retreat! The cabin is the perfect size, was very clean when we arrived, also very rustic and the location is perfect. It was the most stress free, relaxing, peaceful, tranquil little spot I have rented. I kept thinking how I wanted to go back every year and fantasized about how much I would love living there! I had 3 teenagers, all good kid's and my well behaved dog. The kid's had a blast. It was good quality family time and I honestly think it was my dog's favorite vacation. As he gets older he is more nervous about sleeping out in unfamiliar places, but he was very comfortable and possibly had more fun than anyone else. He loves canoeing, BBQ, swimming, sniffing, sunning himself, and he loved hanging out with his people all week. We put his life vest to good use! The kids and I enjoyed taking the canoes out, floating in the tube and catching critters. I loved lounging on the dock as well, just enjoying my coffee. The views were beautiful and I got some amazing pictures. Just FYI, I have T Mobile and had no reception. There is a wifi spot further away. Also, I personally would be cautious bringing small children. You are right at the water and although it's nice and shallow, you'd have to keep a close eye. There are no life gaurds. My kids are older and very good swimmers. My son and his friend are boyscouts with lots of training on the water. My kids are better swimmers than I am! Just saying, it's rustic, so if you're familiar with being on the water, it's absolutely perfect! If you have little ones, just be responsible and keep them in view ;)
