Contemporary space, in town, 5 minutes from DHMC,Alice Peck, walking distance to downtown Lebanon.
  • This was the perfect place for me and my boyfriend for the night. Super cute, clean and had everything we needed. There was even a pint size blender for smoothies in the morning. Definitely recommend for one or two people!

  • Janet’s space is adorable and efficient! I stayed for a couple of days - she’s extremely quick to respond to questions, has put so much thought into the space...I truly felt at home and didn’t want to leave! Perfect for both short-term and long-term stays.

    Lois2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place! Felt comfy in it the entire time!

    Fernanda2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as expected! Janet was very responsive.

    Elliot2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I had to cancel my reservation so I haven't seen Janet's place but did end up needing to communicate with her a lot and she's one of the nicest, most responsive hosts I've had the pleasure of "meeting" through AirBnB.

    Tracy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space for an even better price!

    Walter2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Janet’s place as an unplanned and last minute stay (my mother suffered from a heart attack and was at nearby DHMC-I live some distance away and needed to be closer to my momma). Janet was a thoughtful host who checked in to make sure I had everything I needed yet also gave me privacy and space. The space was quaint and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. Although I essentially only used Janet’s place as a place to lay my weary head, I highly recommend.

  • The cabin on the hill is a wonderful location for a get away. Charming, cozy and quiet. Julie was a great host! The place has thoughtful touches and great cabin style. We hope to return!

    Cara2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot. Very clear directions. 5-10 min hike up to the cabin but you have it all to yourself. Wonderful space and great furnace. Romantic and fun!

    Jack2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what a wonderful wonderful spot. Julie’s cabin is nestled on top of a hillside in bucolic Vermont just a short drive from Woodstock. The cabin had everything you need for a weekend of a glamping: outdoor stove, a little dishwashing station, an outhouse, a tiny cabin with a cozy woodstove, a fire pit, and plenty of views and hiking trails. We loved every minute and hope to be back soon!!

    Caroline2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we wanted! The hike up the hill was a little bit of a hike. Sneakers are the best bet. Very private and peaceful. Thank you again!! !

    Michael2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just lovely. Super private and the wood stove kept the place pretty toasty despite the fall chill setting in! Would love to come back again.

    Juliana2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for an off grid experience. The stove keeps the place perfectly warm on a cold evening and cooking and showering outdoors was such a novelty. Would recommend for a short stay !

    Jake2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in the woods! Fully equipped cabin, nothing need to bring appart food. He even had coffee and logs at our disposal! Good workout to get there, but very well indicated, little advice do not arrive in the dark!

    Amélie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's cabin is fantastic! The location is very cool -- it feels like you're completed secluded and off-grid in the hills of Vermont. The cabin itself is perfectly rustic. Great for relaxing and taking in the great outdoors.

If an historic, 19th c. Cornish Art Colony cottage nestled in the woods is to your liking, the first floor Maxfield Parrish Suite in our 1766 cottage is for you! The Maxfield Parrish retains the rustic charm amid pastoral beauty that has drawn travelers, artists, intellectuals and writers to our region for over 200 years. Exposed beams, 1766 & 1888 detailing, French windows, and updated utilities combine in this cozy Victorian cottage, with skiing, historic sites & arts offerings all nearby.
This spacious suite of four rooms and a large porch combines authentic, cottage architecture from 1766 and 1888 with updated utilities. This is the large first floor of the 1766 building; there is a 2-room Artist's Loft BnB above it. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. The living room is adjacent to the open kitchen with dining area. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, chaise lounge, large closet and bay window seat. The study/second bedroom with queen-size futon bed, comfy reading chair and writing desk opens through 1888 French doors to the large porch looking out onto Mt Ascutney. The bathroom has a shower over a claw-foot tub among its amenities. This BnB is fully stocked with everything you need to have a relaxing visit, and more: books, games, television-as-monitor, DVD player, and high-speed internet. This is an authentic 1766 building, which you will quickly notice with, e.g., window jambs, gunstock corners, original beams, 1766 corner cupboard in the Master bedroom. The space has the quirks of its actual age in window jambs and other details. If you'd like a modern copy of an actual 1766 building, this is not the place for you!
We are situated in the heart of the Upper Valley, a buzzing four-season cultural area punctuated with picturesque New England towns and landscapes. Please refer to the guidebook map for our suggestions for the best hikes, lakes, skiing, excellent dining, shopping (tax free in New Hampshire!), apple-picking, kayaking, local breweries and distilleries, and more!
  • Jo's place is amazing. It's everything that was described on the website and more. Jo is the most gracious hostess we have ever had and a great tour guide. The place was very spacious and quaint. We felt like we had gone back in time. The location is excellent for touring New Hampshire and Vermont. We would definitely book it again if we were in the area.

  • The space at the Maxfield Parrish suite in Cornish NH is a treasure . It retains the charm of says gone by . Saint Gaudens gardens are right down the road . Lots to see & do in every direction , Beautiful Mt.Ascutny that you can see from the porch. The Artisan Park , lake Sunapee , Woodstock Vt , delightful township of Plainfield , organic farms for your produce . I could go on & on . We will be returning to Jos’s home .....

    Sylvia & John2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and her place were great! The space was exactly what I had hoped for; plenty of room, lots of privacy, a well stocked kitchen, relaxing study and lovely porch for sunset viewing. The place was rustic in the exact right way, with all the modern conveniences. Jo was a fantastic host, she started me with all the breakfast necessities (OJ, bread, eggs, milk, syrup, jam and more) and even asked if I needed her to pick anything up at the store. She was very respectful of my space, which I appreciated, but was extremely responsive when I needed anything at all (shampoo, a blown fuse etc). I can't wait to get back and enjoy all this airbnb and the surrounding area have to offer!

    Jesse2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jo is a great host and our employee enjoyed their stay. Great communication and was very friendly! Will definitely stay with her again in the future!

    Brenda2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very cosy and cute place. Owner was super nice, and we would definitely recommend this place.

    Keiko2018-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the Maxfield Parrish suite in early September. Jo was wonderful about our not-quite-certain arrival times, and was super responsive to our questions. We were grateful for the possibility of bringing our dog although in the end she stayed home with a friend. We love quirky or antique places with lots of character and this fit the bill. Along with the charm of its centuries' old structure and its inherent wabi-sabi, the space is very comfortable, cozy but roomy, and clean. Bathroom and kitchen stuff all worked well--we used the oven to make a pie with local apples. The unit is in an older farm building on the same grounds as the host's house, and there's another unit in the building. That didn't impact our stay at all, just thought I'd mention it for other travelers. There's a fantastic porch off the side room, where we enjoyed lunch and the view of Mt. Ascutney. It's an easy shot to Hanover/Lebanon/White River Junction, and Cornish itself and the surrounding area is lovely. We had a fun hike up behind the old mill house that connects to the National Historic Monument at St. Gaudens house. Would certainly go back!

    Sandy2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's place is a little bit hard to find at first but once you get there, it's an adorable old house. Jo is SO friendly and lets you set the pace at how much or little you would like to communicate with her during your stay. The Roku on the TV was such a good touch. The front door is a little jammed and the back doors that lead out from the porch to the bedroom could use a better lock (you can still push/pull the doors open even when the bar is locked) but if you're not a paranoid city person like me, it's really not a problem at all. Jo was so great and left a jar of local apple butter and a handwritten note for my friends and I halfway through our stay. She really is an exceptional host and the house is very spacious and comfortable. We cooked dinner there one night and the kitchen is very comfortable to cook in. There aren't many options of nearby places to go to but the places we went were close by and amazing! A short trip away from the Harpoon Brewery and some great food spots :)

    Mary2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a nice stay at a unique historic property. It’s every inch a 1700’s vintage home, lots of character but with modern conveniences.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with loved ones, or a more adventurous tour of New England's great outdoors, book our delightful Cornish home for an experience you’ll never forget!
Cornish is an old artists colony graced by such names as Maxfield Parish, Augustus St. Gaudens, and others from that time period. In our little neighborhood, we have roads that can be walked for miles with farms, horses, covered bridges, ponds, and the timeless scenery of New England. The nearest little town is Plainfield, which is about 1.5 miles from the house. There is a small general store and gas station there, a library, post office, auction house, and a few churches. If you keep driving down 12-A for 8 miles, you will reach West Lebanon, where there are numerous shopping centers, and everything you will need. In the other direction on 12-A, you will find the Cornish-Windsor covered bridge, and there is shopping in Windsor too.
  • Beautiful house in a quiet location. Perfect for a weekend break.

    William2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The home was sparkling clean, directions for check-in and check-out were extremely clear, and the amenities (shower, kitchen, washer and dryer, etc.) we're all top notch. There was about 4 inches of snow that fell over the weekend here, which initially worried me because the house is a little bit off the beaten path - however, I was very pleasantly surprised that the road (and the driveway!) were promptly and effectively plowed the morning right after. Getting in and out of here was a breeze. My friends and I loved taking a walk in the woods, taking pictures of the bridge, and playing board games for hours in the living room. This is a wonderful place to stay!

  • Just an amazing place to spend time with family. Lovely hosts, incredible location.... TOOO MUCH FUNN. Thanks again.

  • Absolutely amazing place for our trip to see foliage. Easy drive from Boston and great base for our daily exploring in New Hampshire and Vermont. The covered bridge nearby is picturesque. It was our first trip to New England. This totally fit the Hallmark movie visions I had. My husband said we can come back to New England, but only if we stay here. The house is cozy and has literally everything you would need. Highly recommend!

    Stacey2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully decorated cottage with an exceptionally equipped kitchen. The setting is quiet and peaceful but not far from shopping and other attractions in a beautiful part of the Connecticut River Valley. The owner was quick to respond to questions and very cordial. It would be an ideal stay for one or two couples.

    Richard2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, quiet location. Perfect for a nice getaway from city life!

    Derek2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the country home and loved spending time in the screened in porch playing games and catching up while enjoying the countryside. The house is set on a peaceful lot with sounds of Blow Me Down Brook and nature surrounding. It was also easy to quickly get on 12A and get to Windsor or Ascutney and other destinations. We found the kitchen had everything we needed to cook in and the beds cozy and comfortable. We highly recommend this beautiful country home!

The Monet-Metcalf is an exposed-beam 1888 cottage, and is located on the 19th C. Cornish Art Colony estate of The Butternuts. We're nestled along the CT River in pastoral Cornish, NH, while only minutes from Dartmouth and a region rich in historic, artistic, natural and intellectual sites and events in both VT & NH. Cornish is the town that mesmerized Augustus Saint Gaudens, Maxfield Parrish, Willard Metcalf and J.D. Salinger—we think you'll understand why. Killington and Sunapee skiing nearby!
This 1888 cottage, built by our Great Aunt and Uncle, is on 36 acres on a bluff above the CT River. There is easy access to the BnB from Rte 12 A, which is just beyond the pines on the outer edge of the front lawn of the property. This cozy, 2-story space has two bedrooms tucked under the eaves on the second floor, and a living room, eat-in kitchen with full amenities, and the bathroom (large shower, no bathtub) on the first floor. For swimming, boating and fishing, there is direct CT River access provided by the town of Cornish, just south of our property. We do have air conditioning on the second floor if needed in the summer months.

  • Jo is an excellent host! She is very easy to communicate with and very acomidating. She even provided breakfast for my check in day, which was awesome as I worked the overnight at the hospital that previous night. She always made sure she didnt have any thing going on in the mornings when I came home from work. Its very nice to have a landloard that thinks of a quite environment for night nurses during the day. I also had to make some adjustments to my stay and she was acomidating to that as well! Jo is the best host I've ever had on air bnb. 10/10 would stay again!

  • Jo’s cottage was very pleasant. She was a great host, and we enjoyed our time there!

    Jonathan2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and Shawn are absolutely wonderful hosts!!! I had a tough time getting here my first night (3 tornadoes in CT) and Jo was so wonderful to wait up for me, leave me something to eat since I had been driving 12 hours, and greet me with a smile and a hug! The cottage is so cozy and the location is amazing!! I highly recommend staying here and seeing all this charming town has to offer!!!

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jo was an excellent host- very accommodating and always made sure I had everything that I needed. She made a point to let me know that she was available whenever I needed something. She even helped me out with the dog who was sick while I was away at work. The apartment itself was quaint and very quiet. Jo was more than open to discussing ways to improve the stay for those in the future. The house is in the middle of the woods, so there are some gnats/mosquitoes which can be expected. Overall an excellent experience, and if I find myself in the area again, I would love to stay with Jo!

Welcome to Back of the Forty-a wonderful barn style home built in 2016 and situated on Riverview Farm. This home is 15 min from Dartmouth College to the north and Windsor, VT to the south. It is a wonderful place to relax, watch the sunset and enjoy time with loved ones or retreat for some solitude. It is cozy, rustic and modern all at the same time. You can walk out the front of the house and be in an apple orchard within seconds-it is like a New England Napa!
The house is situated on a working fruit farm. During your stay in the fall. you may chose to wander the farm, pick some apples or pumpkins or raspberries, find your way through the corn maze or sample some of our fresh pressed cider. If you book during May you will be able to see the orchard in the stages of bloom! Summer brings all sorts of green as things grow in anticipation of the harvest season. Winter is my favorite because it is time to cozy up to the fire and watch the flakes fall outside from the big picture windows. Back of the Forty is also within 45 min of Okemo, Sunappee Mtn, Whaleback and Killington if you are looking for some good alpine skiing!
It is incredibly rural while still being close to cultural events and good food!
  • We had a great long weekend at Amy's house. The house is beautifully decorated and brand new. The wood burning fire kept the house nice and toasty. The location is great, about an hour from Okemo and Killington where we would go skiing all day, and came back in the evening and read by the fire, cooked dinner (the kitchen has everything you need and more to make a great meal!) and slept very well on the comfy bed. I would highly recommend this Airbnb!

  • Fantastic! It’s not inexpensive but it’s worth the price. It view... the house... and the farm. Absolutely incredible. I walked through the orchids in the morning- nibbled on blue berries, raspberries and apples. And we enjoyed a fire on the patio as the sun set. Perfect New England weekend.

  • This property is truly amazing! We booked with Amy knowing that we would be taking photos for our wedding on her property. Not only was it extremely beautiful but vast. There are so many hidden gems! We got married in Vermont and spent the night before and night of our wedding here. I cannot express how happy we are to have booked here. We had a few people over one night and had an outdoor fire going. It was lovely! If I could give more stars I would, absolutely the BEST!

    Veronica2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at The Back of the Forty! We enjoyed walking around and seeing all the farm had to offer! Amy’s home is even better in person & the coziest spot of a weekend getaway! Thank you Amy!

Come unwind after a long day at Teach na Síochána (House of Peace). Enjoy a hot shower and sauna or a soak in the tub and then grab some snacks from the kitchenette and watch a movie before drifting off to dream land. In the morning, fuel your day with some fresh fruit and a muffin before you head on your way. Less than fifteen miles from Dartmouth College and DHMC and just a hop, skip and a jump to Interstate 89, you'll find rest and rejuvenation when you stay at Teach na Síochána.
To clarify, the kitchenette consists of access to a microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, snacks, and seating for four. A continental breakfast will be offered in the morning. There is a mini fridge upstairs in the loft area.
We are walking distance to several markets, parks, beaches, walking and hiking trails. Driving distance to great ski areas, including our local favorite, Whaleback, The Little Mountain That Could, recently featured in a video on LL Bean's web site. Dartmouth College and DHMC as well as Interstate 89 are all less than 15 miles away.
  • The breakfast was above & beyond spectacular. Lisa & Tony provided a beautiful home, lovely conversation, and a truly exceptional breakfast. We will stay here 100% of the days that the ski resorts are not closed for coronavirus

  • We really enjoyed staying here and hope to be back in the future. The location is very convenient for exploring VT and NH. The hosts are fantastic and provided a delicious breakfast for us.

  • After researching many airbnb's in the area I chose Lisa's new listing. This turned out to be a great decision. Communication was good and she responded quickly. The living space in this suite was huge, clean and comfortable. Bigger and better than the pictures. They generously changed the breakfast offering to accommodate my son's dietary needs. If we ever return to the area again we will definitely book Lisa's place again.

Suzy And Todd’s home is located in Windsor, Vermont, United States. The farm is located on a quiet dirt road. The dirt roads are great for strolling or bike riding. The scenery is full of rolling hills and beautiful farmland. We are close to many popular Vermont attractions. We are only 11 miles from both Woodstock and Quechee. There is always something fun to do in both Woodstock and Quechee including walking around Woodstock Village, visiting the Billings Farm and Museum, VINS, glassblowing at Simon Pearce, and Quechee Gorge. We are also a short drive from Ascutney Mountain, Hanover, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College, King Arthur Flour in Norwich, and Harpoon Brewery in Windsor. In the winter, there are plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the area. Our farm is right down the road from the VAST Trail System for snowmobiling and we are a 45 minute drive from both Killington and Okemo Mountains for downhill skiing.
  • If you're looking for a quiet get away with a beautiful view, this is the perfect place. Todd was a very easy going guy and we look forward to returning to the farm. The cabin was clean and updated and we were welcomed with eggs and scones. We also enjoyed a walk around the property in the snow covered woods. Next time we'll try out the fire pit. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Fat Sheep Farm is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a country experience in Vermont. It is quiet and somewhat secluded, but not a far drive from any of the surrounding towns. The cabin we stayed in was very clean and cozy. The view from our front porch was beautiful and their 60 acre property was the perfect place to get our dog out for a walk. We hope to come back and enjoy Fat Sheep Farm in the warmer months!

  • Perfect place for a moms’ weekend away! Quiet, clean and on an absolutely gorgeous property. We especially loved exploring the cider mill and taking a moonlight walk in the snowy fields. Also, Jamie’s recommendation of Saturday dinner at Skunk Hollow Tavern was perfect. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was quirky Vermont at its liveliest.

    Laura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Picturesque, tranquil and so relaxing. Jamie provided everything for a wonderful escape in a beautiful cozy cabin. Warm roaring fire, walks on the trails in the snow, and quaint towns a short drive away. I’m already planning a return trip!

    Mary Ellen2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stunning. It is tucked away in a cozy part of Vermont. Very remote and a perfect to escape the world. There are hiking trails on property and Jamie provided us snowshoes so we could get out and enjoy the surroundings. The fire place was super easy to use and made snuggling up on the couch extra awesome. Despite all the remoteness there are tons of restaurants about 15 minutes away and Jamie gave lots of recommendations.

    Sheila2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin exceeded our expectations. We didn’t want to leave! Gorgeous property and Jamie’s recommendations for food to enjoy in the area were perfect. We had plans to go out all evening and the place was so amazing we sat by the fire, enjoyed the views and played cards instead. We will definitely be back!

The Artist's Loft is a very comfortable, one-bedroom BnB on our historic, Cornish Arts Colony property. The building is surrounded by woods and lawn on our 36 acre property. The view of Mt. Ascutney across the river and in VT is inspiring. The Artist's Loft is cozy, quiet, and comfortable in all seasons, with Rinnai heating in the cooler and cold months, and an air conditioner in the bedroom for summer. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and a day bed sofa in the living room.
The main house was an 1812 structure which was renovated by the splendid renovations of Boston architect Daniel Appleton in 1890, for the current owner's great Aunt and Uncle Beaman. The house has lovely, large spaces characteristic of Victorian summer houses of the time. The Beamans lived in New York City, but spent summers in "Little New York," as they and their friends called it, in Cornish. Later the summer residents came to be called the Cornish Art Colony, as many artists, writers, and composers sought refuge here from the stultifying summer heat of city life. The Cornish Art Colony flourished from 1882 to 1916; Cornish is nestled along the Connecticut River, which forms the boundary between NH and VT. There are many additional attractions from the Art Colony in our village, including Saint Gaudens' National Historic Site, which is across 12A from this location. The natural beauty is superb, including scenic views of the river, the covered bridge, Mt. Ascutney, and many hiking and walking trails.
Cornish is a quiet village, with no "town" center. The Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge, just south of the Butternuts, is the longest two-span covered bridge in North America. The views of Mt. Ascutney from this property are superb. The Cornish boat landing and dock are just south of the property. Across the covered bridge is Windsor, VT, which has a grocery, pharmacy, excellent restaurants, quaint shops, a village green with weekly summer concerts, and the Artisans' Park, with its organic food offerings, canoe and raft rentals, Simon Pearce glassblowing facility, Harpoon Brewery with restaurant. Up Rte 12A from the property is the tax-free shopping of the West Lebanon shopping malls, and Hanover, NH, with Dartmouth College and many additional shops and restaurants. To the west, beyond Windsor, is Woodstock, VT, with its fine stores, restaurants and Pentangle Arts. Just across the river from West Lebanon is White River Junction, VT, which has art shops and craft shops, and is a flourishing arts center, including Northern Stage. Mt. Ascutney has numerous hiking trails, including those to the top, which has spectacular views. . On the hot days in summer, the swimming areas of Hartland dam and Wilder dam in Vermont are a short distance away, and are delightful spots along the Connecticut River. Cornish also has a boat dock on the CT River for kayaks or canoes, and this is just south of our property. The excellent skiing areas on Mt. Sunapee are thirty minutes southwest.
  • Definitely rustic but very clean slept great comfortable bed thank you so much for having your home available

  • I had a great stay at The Buttercups. A beautiful property and Jo is a wonderful host.

    Toni2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a woodsy place full of opportunities to relax in a natural setting. There is a compelling history to the property that shows in the old buildings. Jo makes every effort to see to your comfort. She brought us into the house because of water damage to the loft -- too much rain in New England this year. We shared stories and laughs over toast and jam.

    David2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • What I loved most about this place was our amazing host, Jo. She was so sweet, accommodating for us when arriving very late and she truly made us feel welcomed. The Artist's Loft had everything we needed for a fair price.

    Chelsey2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jo is a terrific communicator and the artist's loft is a quiet comfortable spot. easy to get to and fully equipped.

    Amanda2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, historic house in an incredibly scenic area. Jo is a wonderful and welcoming host, and gave excellent suggestions for things to do in the area. The private loft has all the amenities needed for a quiet and comfortable weekend away. Thanks Jo!

    Kaela2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at jo's place which was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Jo was a very friendly and helpful host. She also included a notebook of useful information about the place and points of interest in the surrounding area, which we found very helpful. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

    Rob2018-08-26T00:00:00Z

Do you enjoy Glamping? We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a heavenly pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA having managed The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast 15 years. Thanks to all who stayed with us last year. We are now closed for the season and will reopen May 14, 2020.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics for you. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil and a communal mini fridge. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as cooler. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out. Our Curtis Wright is 72 years old and the El Rey is 64 years old. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy! Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1955 El Rey. This is our 1st year to offer the Curtis Wright Airstream, please see our other listing for it. It’s titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” Airstream Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please purchase your wood locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal bags and wood on site for sale usually, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk! Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond. We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience. We have a new composting toilet outhouse. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with solar water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. If it’s been cool or cloudy, the water will not be warm. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and our neighbors. Wildlife abounds in the heavily wooded neighborhood. You might see deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose as well as all sorts of birds, even Pileated Woodpeckers. Our Phoebe Flycatchers fledge near or in the summer kitchen each year. As a special treat, our Barred Owl fledglings were here every evening in July last year, you can still hear them at night sometimes well into the fall.
  • We had such a lovely time at El Rey! The airstream was super cozy and the fire pit was perfect.

The location is very beautiful and quiet, both Jim and Juli were lovely and provided lots of useful information about the area, and staying in a camper that was older than me was great fun and a unique experience. Highly recommended if you look for a place to get away from it all for a bit.

  • Juli and Jim were great hosts and went out of their way to greek our arrival, despite several complicated issues causing us to arrive several hours later than expected, well after 9PM, but Juli nevertheless greeted us and walked us through the paces to take the most advantages of their well appointed clamping opportunity. And, although their property is deep in the Vermont woods, with a beautiful set up clamping site, offering only two basic trailers for separate couples, very comfortable sleeping arrangements, with a seperate, protected, covered food prep area, with modest refrigerator storage for two couples and sufficient meal support for cooking for several days of clamping, plus a large, clean and pleasant electronically operated outhouse styled toilet, outfitted with appropriate toiletries, keeping within an "outdoor, deep in the Vermont woods", setting, and eitherJuli or Jim are very often, unobtrusively present, nearby on their property to address any clamping issues to make your clamping experience exceptional. Make no mistake, this is "deep woods" campsite, clamping experience, in a beautiful, rural setting, in the best sense.

The mattress is very comfortable. The location is close to the Dartmouth campus and Anna provided me with taxi information that was very convenient. I think the distance would have been walkable except for the roads and winter weather at this time of the year. I definitely hope to stay here again!

A quiet setting is yours for relaxing after a day spent exploring the amazing offerings of the Upper Valley. No additional fees for extra person or cleaning.
Your bedroom, bath and sitting room are located on the lower level of our home which allows you complete privacy. Coffee and Tea Service is set up in your room. Our pets are never allowed in your private rooms.
The Hawk Pine area is a wooded area with trails and lovely country roads to stroll. Still it is just a quick 20 minute walk to the village at just over one mile. Just over 2 miles puts you on the Hanover Green and Dartmouth College.
  • Super clean, quiet, and very convenient/close to King Arthur Flour ... if I take another multi-day class, I’ll definitely try to stay here again.

    Indira2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good about My experience here! I was taking a multi-day class at King Arthur Flour and chose this listing over staying at a hotel. I’m so glad I did! The drive is literally 5 minutes to King Arthur and the suite of bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom is very private and comfortable. I really appreciated how communicative Rob was — he made checking in so easy and was very friendly and easy to talk with (he’s a huge music buff and recommended great albums I had never heard of!) Highly recommend this listing — I’ll stay again if I’m in the area! Thanks again, Rob!

Private, simple bedroom and private bathroom with shower in the quiet home of a single, professional, gay man. Open kitchen and use of laundry included. Shared semi-formal living room is a great place to read or relax with a glass of wine. The house is less than a mile from the I-91 & I-89 interchange (and near US 4 & 5) but on a quiet side street and surrounded by lawn, gardens, and towering oak and maple trees. Friendly, laid back host is a former innkeeper getting started with Airbnb.
Located in a one-story addition at the back of the house, the bedroom has a double bed, comfortable chair with reading lamp, and a small closet. The private guest bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom via the hallway. Sheets and towels are provided. The kitchen was remodeled in 2015 and is available for use. Coffee from the K-cup machine is included. The house has a small private patio and a porch for relaxing outside in warm weather.
This is a quiet street with large distances between the houses. The village (one mile away) has excellent restaurants, several art galleries and shops, a brewery, two food co-ops (it is Vermont!), a cartoon school, and the must-see Main Street Museum.

  • I’ve stayed at Todd’s place 3 times now and will again. It’s sparkling clean, comfortable, and in a great location for everything one would need in the Upper Valley. I’m usually there for work so my schedule doesn’t always line up with Todd’s and we haven’t come into a ton of contact, but every interaction has been great. He’s friendly and very attentive to making sure your stay is a good one. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to the Dartmouth region.

Enjoy Glamping? Our place is close to Woodstock and Quechee VT and you’ll love our place if you enjoy a natural setting, rustic acres with pond and woods surrounded by old stone walls. Get out and explore the area and come home at night to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We’re experienced innkeepers from The Bissell House Bed & Breakfast in So Pasadena CA. Thanks to all who stayed with us in 2019. We are closed for the season and will reopen late Spring 2020.
Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors. Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have a kitchen, our outdoor cook station has some basics. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows etc. that function differently and need upgrading periodically. These are not new modern trailers, they’re vintage! We think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy. Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs. Both trailers are pondside. The El Rey is across the pond from the Curtis Wright. Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1947 Curtis Wright. This is our 1st year to offer the Airstream, please see our other listing of the El Rey for our reviews from 2018! That listing is titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” El Rey Glamping. Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of the experience outside your trailer. You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please bring whatever you intend to use, or order it from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal and wood on site for sale, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.
We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and the occasional neighbor going past. Wildlife abounds, we do have deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose. Our Phoebe Flycatchers nest and fledge in the summer kitchen annually and you might see the babies learning to fly. We hope our local Barred Owls will be regular visitors again this summer.
  • Great place, Jim and juli are very friendly! Warm welcome and even some wood was brought to us to start a nice fire. Location is awesome!

  • Beautiful property, unique experience. Trailer was charming and clean. Hosts are great - they really make sure you have everything you need! Would definitely make a return trip.

    Chelsea2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It was SO wonderful being in the peaceful country, in a vintage setting. Thank you Julie!

    Anita2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just MAGICAL. Super welcoming and comfortable. Juli and Jim have clearly thought through dozens of little details to make staying at their place a fanatic experience. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner and had all the pans we needed. The area is very quiet and it was super private and beautiful. There is literally no cell reception anywhere near it unless you go to one of the nearby stores/restaurants. They do have WiFi on location, so just make sure you have your destinations plugged into your GPS while you're at the cabin with the WiFi! This was a wonderful spot, the hosts were really thoughtful and communicative. They made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

    Navyatha2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Juli and Jim’s place is awesome! We probably had the best sleep of the entire trip in their camper. Very comfortable, very quiet, and great amenities. Check in info and directions were very detailed and clear. Great communication.

    Rhonda2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great glamping experience! Juli and Jim were excellent hosts and above and beyond willing to assist. They are in the heart of a number of things to see/do in the area.

    Elizabeth2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot recommend this place enough! Jim and Juli were so nice and welcoming. Their property is so unique and special. We already cannot wait to return!

    Melissa2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this glamping experience. Their place was quiet and serene. Loved the loose tea selection, as I am not a coffee drinker (it was nice they had both to choose from). Loved the area, and the fall leaf experience.

  • Suzy and Todd were great. The property has amazing views and the interior is well decorated and super clean. Would highly recommend this listing. Had a great time in their property.

  • We had a great time. Our kids loved seeing the animals -- sheep, goats, and chickens -- and even got to "help out" with their feeding. Very responsive hosts. Clean and well appointed cabins. Will be sure to recommend.

  • Suzy and Todd’s Cabin’s are great... cozy and what a view! We loved our stay. We were welcomed with scones and fresh eggs. Great spot, I highly recommend!

  • Such a beautiful spot tucked up in the hills of Vermont. Our cabin was spotless and cozy for a perfect weekend.

    Sarah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My family loved our time at Fat Sheep. The hosts were flexible with our later than anticipate check-in and were accommodating to our requests. The space was super clean. But the view is what really made it. Can't wait to come back in the summer.

    Nick2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at fat sheep farm was a beautiful experience. Todd and Suzy warmly greeted us with fresh baked goods and farm eggs. It may seem out of the way but there are not only activities to do right on the farm but a book of local attractions and restaurants created by the owners. If you’re visiting for relaxation just sit back and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains from your living room. The cabins are fully equipped with cooking appliances, utensils, and games. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay.

  • Classic New England estate home from yesteryear with great "bones" and lots of nooks and crannies. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy, with huge yard for dogs to run.

    Kent2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a crazy wonderful house for a large group! Very spacious— lots of bathrooms and bedrooms with both antique and modern touches. Highly recommended. Brett, the host, was easy to communicate with, and the check in was also easy. We did not have issues with cleanliness like the prior reviews had mentioned. The only con was that the radiator for some reason gets very loud at 5am in some rooms...it sounds like metal banging against concrete which woke some people up.

    Joy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place very comfortable

    Brian2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The house was just as beautiful as you see in the pictures: a peaceful, huge lot, an elegant, historic house with lots of space and rooms for all of us. Decorating was definitely maximalist, but tastefully done. Had a fully stocked kitchen with all the essentials. The house was not quite as clean as we've come to expect and could have used a once over, but it wasn't too bad or unworkable. There were nice tips on places to eat and things to do (definitely grab breakfast at the gas station--delish!).

This is a big beautiful house with a giant backyard and epic views of Mt. Ascutney. Come and enjoy our home, share the peace and beauty of Vermont. This location is central to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and horse events.
Our house has two large bedrooms available as single private rooms that are priced separately (Two king sized beds). The second bedroom may be reserved through Fire Ridge Farm II. Great for people traveling together. FYI we are a solar powerhouse! 45 solar panels on our barn contribute to the electricity needs of our neighbors.
You will be amazed and delighted at the sheer majesty of the surroundings. Our view of Mt. Ascutney is magnificent. The house is private and quiet, with all of the convenience of high speed internet. Soak in the hot tub and watch the Milky Way, satellites and shooting stars in our clear night sky. Listen to the owls at night and the songbirds during the day. Pretty much the perfect Vermont experience.
  • Susan's home is lovely- it is beautiful in a gorgeous location. My husband and I loved the bonus of the hot tub and sauna! It was a nice walk to the village store and cafe, and an easy drive to my husband's conference.

  • Always a pleasure to stay here.

  • Susan and Ralph are delightful hosts. We had a great sleep on a very comfortable bed. The tea and coffee was excellent. The views and conversations were lots of fun. Thank you for all the local tips of how to see the best autumn colors. This is an awesome place to stay.

    Heather2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts! Awesome view in the morning that can’t be beat! Great communication. Great area. Great value. Great bed! Just keep in mind, you are sharing space in a home that is lived in and there could be other guests. If you are fine with that, this is a fantastic choice!

    Charles2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph are the epitome of perfection in Airbnb hosts. As much privacy as we needed but super hospitality as well! Susan's selection of coffees is to die for, and my husband fell in love with Ralph's workshop in the barn. We knew about the area because family lives nearby, but we also found that we were acquainted with one another's families via our nephew and Susan's daughters. Perfect weather for a fall VT wedding...couldn't have asked for a nicer experience/folks to stay with. Definitely the spot to stay across from Mt. Ascutney...anytime of year!

    Nancy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Ralph have a wonderful and comfortable place with a spectacular view. Their spacious home with plenty of private space allows guests to relax at their own pace. Fire Ridge Farm is as authentic Vermont as it gets.

  • Steve was very accommodating. The place was perfect. 10 minutes away from Mount Sunapee. Newport is a quaint little town. I would definitely come back to there if I'm ever around in the area

    Rod2019-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute, private, functional duplex space. Would def stay again. Thanks Steve!

    Brandon2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little apartment close to Sunapee. Very clean and cozy, and having a kitchen and coffee maker made breakfast super easy every day. Steve was also a very warm and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay near the Sunapee area.

    Charles2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great 1BR apartment located only a few minutes from Sunapee. We stayed during a big snowstorm, and Steve got up early to snowblow the driveway so we could get out and ski early. Having the bedroom upstairs away from the common area and kitchen was also a plus. Overall a great value and will definitely look to stay here again!

Bright, light with every amenity you could wish for. Sip a cocktail on the large deck overlooking the private yard or enjoy a fire in the large firepit that is well equipped with Adirondack chairs and plenty of wood. The large fully equipped kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Sonos available.

The pretty town of Norwich has a lovely rural backdrop and places you in the center of all that the Upper Valley of NH & VT has to offer. Brimming with history, diverse outdoor recreation, culinary adventures and lots of intellectual inspiration at Dartmouth College, there's something for everyone who is looking for the quintessential Vermont experience.
  • Lulu's place was great! It was spacious and homey, and my dogs absolutely loved the yard. The location was also very convenient, and Lulu was very helpful when I requested an early check-in time. Those who like to sleep in a bit might have a hard time there, though. There was a *ton* of natural light inside, which is great, except when you're trying to sleep. There also weren't any blinds at all on some of the bedroom windows, so there was no way to block it out. But this is a personal preference thing, so if you're an early riser then this is the place for you.

    Andrea2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lulu and Clif's home is just lovely! We were just a few minutes from our activities in Hanover and at Dartmouth College, but so peaceful, cozy and relaxing. The house is even better than the photos suggest. I highly recommend a stay here. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Susan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect home away from home in Norwich. Quiet, close, spacious and comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more! We hope to be back there soon and hated to leave.

    Deb2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lulú and Clif Gad a great home close enough to all. Views from deck and backyard and back bedroom were beautiful. Thoughtful touches like a handwritten note and chocolate made this host go above an beyond not to mention all of the extras left for our disposal of use, stocked kitchen coffee tea and bathroom items. I will definitely return. Our girls and pup all had an exceptional time.

    Nivia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gem of a place in the Upper Valley, right in Norwich. Great for a weekend getaway. Dog friendly too!

    Matt2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lulu's home was perfect for our winter getaway to the Upper Valley! It is situated very near adorable Norwich village and Hanover. Even though we came to enjoy the wintery outdoors, we had trouble leaving Lulu's cozy home each day. The sunrise views over the back deck and the comfy beds spoiled us, and the thoughtful amenities made our stay easy. We felt at home immediately. Lulu was great about communication and checking in and out were a breeze. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we hope to be back soon!

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

Your private woodlands retreat awaits. Nestled atop a beautiful 10 acre meadow with 25 acres of woods for you to enjoy; this rustic cabin is a perfect romantic hideaway. Two trout ponds are steps from your door for fishing and swimming. Just a few minutes from Mt. Ascutney's hiking and mountain-biking trails and in the middle of fantastic cycling country. Sunset Cabin is a marvelous spot for enjoying fall foliage and exploring Vermont's quaint towns and covered bridges.
This is a magical place. The cabin is comfortable, rustic, and private, with brand new furniture, bedding, and linen. But what's special about it is it's extremely romantic setting overlooking meadows, ponds, gardens, mountains, and woods.
Hiking, mountain-biking, trail running, The Climb (www.theclimbfitness.com) (gym, indoor/outdoor pools) - 2 miles away. Dartmouth College and Hanover - 22 miles away. Year round activities - Okemo resort - 22 miles Killington resort - 33 miles Woodstock - 12 miles Quechee Gorge - 15 miles Harpoon Brewery - 8 miles
  • Well looked after cabin on their property. Beautiful scenery and quick responses to any questions about the area.

    Bryan2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sunset Cabin was the perfect place to unplug and relax, but also close enough to several restaurants and local attractions if that is also something you are interested in. We loved enjoying the property with our pups and unwinding at night in the peace and quiet. Can’t wait to enjoy a longer stay next time!

    Annette2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best airbnb I've ever stay with. Great heat, hot shower, amazing property and thoughtful touches throughout the space. It is indeed a magical gateway for us.

    Pei-Yi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quintessential Vermont getaway. The cabin had everything you could need with an added touch of rustic charm. We, along with our pup, enjoyed everything about the space. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy your loved ones and surroundings.

    Becca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest cabin in the world

    Linda2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly what it says on the tin. No hidden surprises. A clean, remote, rustic, quiet, Vermont cabin. Bringing my partner here for a birthday weekend I was looking for somewhere the complete opposite of our current home in Boston and centralized to good food, good hiking, and good ... farm-going. This provided all of that and more. Highest possible recommendation for any couple looking to get away from the city and enjoy time in nature. Don't miss the Harpoon brewery up the road or the Path of Life Garden. Mt. Ascutney has tons of ascents, including driving, so can be as hard or easy as you like. Quechee Gorge is around the corner, as are tons of farms... Really, Sunset Cabin is the perfect getaway.

    Andrew2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was wonderful! My pup and I had an awesome time running free and exploring the property. The cabin is so charming and cozy, my fiancée is jealous she missed it so we’re planning a return trip!

    Connor2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sunset Cabin is an absolute treasure. Everything we needed and more. We were drawn to this property as our pup, while amazing, is often slow to warm with other people and dogs. This property was PERFECT for us (and pup!) Simple. Clean. And private as all heck. Be sure to feed the fish in the pond. It was a highlight for us each morning and evening!
