Places to stay in Plaistow
Brand new house, contemporary decor, comfortable and relaxed. Cranleigh is a large village with many amenities (sport, arts, restaurants) set in the rural Surrey Hills - ideally located for walking, yet near to shopping in Guildford, Horsham, Dorking. Only a half hour drive to the south coast - Brighton, Hastings, Worthing - and ideal for National Trust visits. As for me - I can either be invisible or helpful, as you wish! I am a good cook (by arrangement) or you may use the kitchen.
I have a garden and seating area, but as yet not much has been planted (still in the design stage)
Cranleigh is reportedly the largest village in England, nestling in the Surrey Hills and has pretty much everything to entertain you. I love it here...
  • Always a great stay with the delightful Annie. I'm back there again for 3 days the week after next (this coming week was previously booked so couldn't snag it). SteveB

  • Annie is a great host. The private bathroom is excellant and right next to your very nice bedroom. Even the cat is very friendly.

  • Annie’s place was just what I needed for an overnight stay before a job interview in Dunsfold. She was the most welcoming hostess, providing plentiful cups of tea and local information and her cats were super friendly. She also drove me to my job interview which was really helpful and helped calm my nerves. I thoroughly recommend!

    Poppy2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for just one night but Annie was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. She has a lot of friendly cats too!

  • Annie was great. I was sick and had to change the booking for another person to stay instead. Annie was extremely accommodating, and understanding. Annie’s home was welcoming, easy to get to, very clean and accommodating. Thank you Annie.

A beautiful original Granary on a small farm just outside Petworth is now a welcoming double studio with en suite bathroom, perfectly located for a couple or single person wanting to get away from it all within an hour's drive of London. It has a super king size bed, en suite bathroom, a well-equipped modern kitchenette (with fridge/freezer, sink, induction hob, toaster & kettle) and French doors onto a pretty balcony where you can sit and enjoy a sundowner overlooking the beautiful countryside.
The Granary is quiet, private and very comfortable with beautiful rural views.
Petworth is a quintessential English country market town only one mile away. What makes the Granary unique is its quietness and privacy. Perfect for anyone who just needs to de-stress from urban life or self-isolate with total peace of mind.
  • Cozy and exactly what we had hoped for. Would definitely go back.

    Sarah2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Set well off the beaten track in deepest Sussex, the Granary is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. Despite the filthy weather, the puppy and I had a great time. Glorious views across green fields, a beautifully decorated space and a huge, comfortable bed, make future stays inevitable.

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lot more spacious than the photos made out!

    Cesare2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We read all the reviews for this property and had high expectations. Everyone is right, it is really a beautiful, clean and spacious property. The countryside around is truly peaceful and as recommended by other guests, we walked to 'The Stag' pub in Balls Cross which is an easy 1-hour walk via small farm roads. The Granary was immaculate and such a great space to live in for a couple of days. There is a small (but amazing) hob which we used to cook ourselves meals and breakfast with the eggs, butter, and bread left for us by the hosts! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those who want a quiet getaway to the countryside, away from city life.

  • A great place to stay in a beautiful setting.

    Araminta2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful rural location with stunning views across the countryside. The space was large and exceptionally clean on arrival.

    Will2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Space was bigger than it seemed in the photos which was a nice surprise. Great facilities in a lovely area.

    Connor2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic, close to Petworth, walking tracks and pubs, but also remote enough to have peace while enjoying the views. The Granary's décor is lovely, the room comfortable and the bathroom has a great shower. We enjoyed our 3 day stay and would return without hesitation.

Cottage set in rural location near Billingshurst. Suitable for one or 2 people. Well located for Kirdford, Chichester, Horsham, Arundel, Cranleigh, Petworth, Haslemere, Guildford. Excellent walking and close to places of interest to visit.
Sympathetically converted, this super barn conversion, previously the egg store of a renowned chicken farm, stands adjacent to our home, which is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Kirdford. The cottage is beautifully furnished to a high standard and provides twin or double bed (to be confirmed on booking), fitted bathroom, fitted kitchen with open plan lounge/dining area and log burner. Logs and kindling are provided for your arrival and further supplies available for purchase when required.
Close to the South Downs National Park, this attractive holiday barn is ideal for couples wishing to stroll, cycle, fish, play golf or visit the numerous attractions within easy reach. Foxleigh Farm Barn has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months. The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Goodwood, with its motor racing and horse racing, Fontwell races, West Dean Gardens, Parham House, The Weald, Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is the cathedral city of Chichester with its extensive shopping and tea rooms, festival theatre and harbour tours. Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile. Within the village of Kirdford, just a few minutes walk away, we have a lovely village shop providing local produce and a café with outside seating. Also within the village are two pubs -'The Foresters Arms' and also the well documented newly refurbished 'Half Moon'.
  • This is an excellent place to stay. We were looking for somewhere to completely relax and wind down for a couple of days as this was perfect. The communication was excellent throughout and this is definitely somewhere that we would go back to so that we could get away again.

    Donna2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A well-designed cottage on a farm, surrounded by open countryside., with ample storage space, ensuite bathroom as well as a downstairs toilet and well-equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean, despite being dog- friendly, comfortable and warm, the Coop was within easy driving distance of Chichester and close to Petworth.

We have converted the old stable into a guest accommodation and can offer a compact and modern living space right in the heart of Dunsfold. No street lamps, one pub and the village shop just about sum up the ambience. It's a beautiful springboard for country walks and our cosy and separate studio will provide a comfortable and well appointed base.
Old Stable. We think it was originally built in the 18th century and formed part of an old blacksmiths. It's also done a stint as a fire station before it was shortened and replaced by a house. In March 2019 we converted the remaining portion which forms part of our property. Our house is one of 4 cottages built during the First World War. Hence "Victory Cottages". These were built in what was the garden of the house along the front. This house dates back to the 17th century. The Old Stable will have been on the land originally and probably was used for the family nag back in the old days. It now comprises a compact living area served by a fast Wi-Fi connection, a separate shower room and a fully fitted kitchen area with fridge, freezer, all pots and pans, plates, cutlery, 2 induction hobs and a microwave oven. There is shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and toothbrushes for those who have forgotten their own. If requested, we can rig a washing machine in the courtyard for exclusive use by guests. And a tumble drier is also available in an adjacent shed. There is an honesty tin for using the washing machine and tumble drier to cover the cost of electricity.
Dunsfold is a quiet village with historically significant interest. The church is over 800 years old with the oldest pews in the country (apparently!) The shop and pub cater for all local needs. Trains to London or to the south coast may be caught at the closest stations. There is a bus service which covers the local area and which goes into Guildford. The village is a springboard for local walks across the downs or to adjacent villages.
  • Outstanding! On the same level of a very good hotel, if not better. Janet and Anthony are well organised and the place is just perfect from every point of view. Loved my stay, would definitely book again.

  • Excellent value for money with delightful owners. Would certainly go again

  • Lovely cosy place in a charming village. Spotlessly clean, great amenities with extra thoughtful touches. We stayed during storm “Dennis” and no issues, the accommodation was warm and cosy. Lovely hosts and would definitely recommend and stay again.

    Nicky2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing overnight stay at the old stable! Thanks to clear instructions the location and entry to the property was very easy. Upon arrival the room was extremely welcoming and sparkling clean. Being Valentine’s Day, the cupcakes and chocolate was a lovely gesture. Everything you could have needed was provided, and more! We really appreciated the little touches, as well as the breakfast choices - very thoughtful! We were extremely comfortable and cosy. Janet and Anthony were very friendly and happy to accommodate any queries or requests we had. Thank you very much for a lovely stay and we would definitely come again!

    Emily2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We'd suggest staying at The Old Stable for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in the beautiful Surrey. For our trip, the hosts were extremely accommodating with the check-in (we arrived quite late from our trekking tour) and kindly heated up the place for us. They also gave us directions to nearby places to buy local foods, and let us stay beyond the check-out time. The place itself is a detached cosy house with all the essentials inside plus a kitchenette. Everything was well-kept, modern and clean. It couldn't have been better!

    Giancarlo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully appointed little house. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved staying here even though it was just one night. The breakfast was great too. Hope to go back again soon. Thanks Janet!

    Anne-Elizabeth2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming couple who were very communicative throughout the whole process. The cottage is a very well kept and modernised space that has all you need for a few relaxing nights away in the country. We were very happy with our choice to stay there and would definitely recommend it to solo or paired travellers but would certainly advise visiting with a car.

  • Sissy made us very comfortable and the place had everything we needed

    Ash2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything went smoothly - easy check-in and check-out, and Sissy was very helpful with our questions. I can't recommend staying here enough. We stayed here to give ourselves a break from the busyness of the Christmas period and it was perfect. The local pub is less than a stone's throw away (even with my bad throwing arm) and has good food and board games.

    David2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is right by the Common and very quiet. We enjoyed walking around Dunsfold which is an attractive Surrey village

    Marian2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Booked as extra Xmas accom for my son and girlfriend. Sissy was a great host and the annexe was perfect. We will definitely use again, thank you so much!

    Roger2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sissy’s place exceeded my expectation in every way and was so cosy and it delighted me and my partner immensely. Not only was the place clean and well equipped but her and her family are so cool and welcoming. I’m recommending anyone who enjoys historic sites and an eye for detail to stay here and the locals were just as nice. All in all a great stay.

    Lenny2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean one bedroom cottage - perfect for two people. Kitchen well equipped and lovely croissant for breakfast! Dunsfold is such a pretty place and cottage a couple of doors from the pub!

    Marion2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy guesthouse in rural location with all you could need for a home away from home. Being next door to a pub is extremely useful if you don't fancy cooking, though the property comes very well equipped. Fantastic host, who was extremely eager to help, keeping us updated, and offering communication at a moments notice. We would definitely stay here again!

    Dan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Cottage, comfortable , well situated in a quiet rural setting but with easy access to nearby towns. There was good communication before and throughout our stay. Sissy met us and was very welcoming and approachable - a great host. There were thoughtful touches such as croissants, milk ,butter, tea and cereals which on our arrival helped enormously . There is an excellent local shop/post office and friendly pub serving good food (and takeaway pizzas) all within 5 minute walking distance. Would certainly recommend it and hope to return one day. Thanks Sissy.

  • Gorgeous property in idyllic surroundings. Easy to find and beautiful views. Peace and quiet, you wake up to birds every morning and nothing else. Comfortable and cosy space, every basic available (salt, pepper, oil, shower gel, shampoo etc-washing machine with 3in1 tablets an added bonus) plenty of space. Can’t fault it. We will definitely be back, would love to spend a bit more time exploring the area.

    Abi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is beautiful and outstanding. The facilities are superb. This is not a place to stay if you want to cook cordon blue meals. However, if you are happy with microwave meals and avail yourself of the excellent food in pubs around Petworth then this is the place for you.

    Bernadette2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was excellent, it’s a beautiful location not to far from a Petworth town. Lived the underfloor heating!

    Elizabeth2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space in the most peaceful location, with rolling fields on all sides. The picturesque town of Petworth is a 5 minute drive away, with excellent pubs even closer (a particular s/o to the Welldiggers). The flat is well maintained and will all amenities you could need - would love to visit again.

    Kirsten2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

A small country cottage in the beautiful village of Plaistow, West Sussex, famous for having over 30 listed properties. The cottage is annexed onto the Grade II listed main house with 9 acres of land, it has its own front door and private rose garden. The stairlift. is not in use. The fireplace is an electric stove. The bed is a superking or twin beds and kid's beds are available on request. There is parking outside your front door and the decor within is all newly refurbished and very light.
The village of Plaistow is small, rural and charming. It benefits from an amazingly well stocked village shop and cafe, should you not wish to cook breakfast yourself. We are a very short walk from the shop and very close to the church and local pub which is open at weekends and does food on a Friday evening. There is a pretty village green with a children’s play/ park area and there are plenty of walks or cycle rides around. The towns of Horsham, Guildford and Chichester are about 30 minutes drive and all have theatres and cinemas and many shops and amenities. There are countless beautiful villages with wonderful pubs and Goodwood is only 20 minutes away in the lovely town of Petworth.
  • The cottage was full of flowers and a welcome breakfast hamper was a very nice touch. Cate was great at replying quickly and offered good local pub tips. We only stayed for a night but it was a nice break from London

    Kit2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cate was a fantastic host. She catered to our needs and her communication was particularly responsive and helpful. The cottage was lovely and very spacious. Cate provided plenty of local tips and walks along and around the area. Cate communicated often during the harsh weather to ensure we had everything we needed and felt safe and she greeted us with a warm welcome. Would happily revisit again

  • Lovely little annex on some really beautiful land, located amongst a number of cute villages with warm, cosy pubs. Kitchen features a lovely Arga, a small fridge (space for a few days of basics) and all the cookware you need to home cater. Lounge area has a tv and faux electric heater fireplace, which give enough warmth to the room. Bedroom and bathroom lovely. Would stay again!

    Nick2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best little place one can find int he area if you are visiting for what ever reason, better than any hotel or travel lodge. Super clean thoughtful touches and just so easy and idyllic. What would you not stay here?

    Kathryn2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cate is a very welcoming host and many kind extra touches are left for guests. Bread and milk plus coffee and tea. The accommodation is clean and cosy. The bedroom is magnificent as are the grounds. I would highly recommend this property. Great too if you like long country dog walks.

    Nic2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. Its a great option to feel like you can take a total break from the city but is only 90min from London. The hosts provided great recommendations for local restaurants and walks. Would highly recommend.

    Ashley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

Lovely, single room within my friendly 3-bedroom house in Witley, Surrey. Milford station 15/20 min walk, easy travel links into London. Bus 5 minutes. Parking. A good size room, with a quality single bed. WIFI and use of kitchen, garden, lounge. I have a very small Yorkie.
Single private good size room with single bed in good countryside location. The room is clean, quite and comfortably furnished with a reading light, wardrobe, desk, shelves, mirror, blackout blinds, heating, double glazing. I live in a close rather than on a main street, so it is quiet and peaceful.
Witley village is a great and lovely countryside location ideal for long walks and running, with Witley Common, and other country walks within short walking distance. The local pubs are a short walk away and offer excellent food and the locals are very friendly. A newsagent and other general shopping facilities nearby. This is a peaceful environment, which offers good access to Milford or Witley Stations, which provide direct services to Guildford (10 mins) & London Waterloo in under an hour.

  • This was our second stay at the Reading Rooms and even though the weather didn't quite match our previous trip we still loved our stay. A cosy, clean, and quiet space to hideaway for a weekend or use as a base for some beautiful local walks. An additional note - we don't have a car and can thoroughly recommend Mac's local hire for taxi needs! On both trips they've gone out of their way to help us.

    Jack2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The property... The Reading Rooms make for a very pretty countryside getaway. Photos are very accurate - it is a beautiful space - beds are very comfy and there is also a lovely big bath! Check in was self-service and really easy. Nice pubs nearby too. Getting there... We actually travelled by train, getting off at Billingshurst. While I am sure it is easier to drive, rest assured you can still get to and from the property using a local cab company - it took about 15mins and cost just over £10.

Set in the South Downs National Park, on a quiet farm, this cosy self built shepherd, surrounded by birch trees and horse fields, is a peaceful spot for a romantic getaway. Impressive views of the south downs from the accommodation makes this a stunning setting, with plenty of gorgeous woodland walks close by, as well as links to the South Downs Way.
This self built Shepherd hut is built with a lot more space then your average traditional shepherd hut. It has a king size bed to climb up to, with a living space underneath equipped with a sofa bed and a table where you can sit back and relax and have a drink whilst looking at the views of the South Downs. There is a small kitchen space with a wood burner and x2 benches either side of the room with storage space underneath. The interior is furnished with its own unique wooden rustic style and quirky lighting, It is also well insulated and can be kept warm over winter with the wood burning stove on. There is a compost toilet 30 meters from the shepherd hut, you will have access to another bathroom with shower and flushing toilet in the main house, which although shared, is not the main bathroom for the house and is very rarely used by others. This is approximately 30 metres from the shepherds hut. A small basic kitchenette area is provided in the shepherds hut with a single gas burner, fresh drinking water, a kettle, cooking pot, frying pan, plates, bowls, cutlery tea, coffee and sugar available. There is also a small campfire outside next to the shep hut with a fire bowl and grill to cook food on also fire wood and kindling is provided. From Friday to Sundays till the end October, at our nearby campsite (3 min walk away) they will be cooking up something delicious for breakfast and evening meals. It’s always over woodfire or charcoal, either on the grill or in the pot. Breakfast tends to be tea or coffee with a bacon/egg sandwich or avocado bagels. Dinner is usually grilled meat or fish and salads or delicious stews with gremolata and home-made flatbreads. There are plenty of tables and chairs for a communal feast around the Camp Kitchen, or head back to your own pitch for a private dining experience. Either way, no one needs to be the designated driver home! I will email you the week before your stay with the menu and ask for your orders in advance so we know how many we’re cooking for. Prices are between £7-£12 for adults and £4 for kids. We’ll always try to do a bit more in case the delicious smells lure some late-comers, but once it’s gone, it’s gone! • Lovely, quirky and cosy space. Don’t come expecting all mod cons, electricity, WiFi etc. Do come to escape in a really unique location, surrounded by lovely views (and tiny horses!) and hosted by super friendly people. Loved it.

  • Lovely shepherds hut, full of character and thoughtful personal touches. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Gennie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s Shepherds Hut is a perfect nature getaway spot. We had a great stay overnight and really enjoyed all aspects of it. It is not your normal stay as there are not the usual amenities (electricity, mains water) but if you are looking to get away from normal life and slow things down - this place is perfect. We went for a beautiful walk in the forest near the hut, and enjoyed cooking over an open fire in the evening. The hut has a log burner for heating and it heats the space up very effectively and very quickly. The ponies and chickens in the field close by were also delightful! I also particularly liked the composting toilet- really clean and well constructed. There is also a regular toilet and shower available for those who don't want to use the composting one. Overall - it was wonderful so thank you Emma!

    Mila2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin warms up very nicely with the log burner! Very cosy space

    Harriet2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Emma's shepherd hut. The location was stunning and the chickens were cute! The hut is cosy and comfortable even in the gale force winds we got and we would love to stay again.

  • We had such a great time at Emma's hut, away from it all. It's such a special place to stay, surrounded by nature. It really makes you appreciate the beauty of its surroundings. The hut was sparkling clean and had everything we needed for an amazing couple of nights. Host was great and very approachable.

  • Lovely peaceful location. Kenneth was a great host, happy to help when needed.

    Robert2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The property is spacious, clean and full of character. Kenneth was able to give us tips on anything we were unsure of, from cooking on an aga to the best hiking spots in the area.

    Laura2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location was beautiful! Ken was extremely helpful from first enquiry to staying at his place, with quick responses and going out of his way to make it a comfortable stay! A lovely, peaceful location, perfect for our trip!

    Benjamin2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We came and stayed here for two nights while we came down for a family wedding. We were welcomed very warmly by Kenneth who had everything ready for us and made sure our every need was attended to and all bases were covered. Our rooms were very comfortable and we loved the big sitting room with the woodburning stove. Although only really here for sleeping and breakfast in the morning we had a lovely time here and would definitely return again. The only minor issue would be the noisy boiler at 6am in the morning and the very strong smells of oil from the central heating but understandably this can’t be helped and some are more sensitive to it than others. All in all a lovely stay and we cannot thank Kenneth enough for being so attentive and welcoming us with open arms into his lovely historic home in the country side.

    Andy2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with an awesome living room area with big Sofas and a wood burner. Location is great, within walking distance of a couple of pubs and even a brewery! Ken is very welcoming and attentive, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Set in the West Sussex countryside one hour by train from London, an attractive self contained apartment comprising a large, comfortable bed/sitting room with small fully equipped kitchen and shower room and its own first floor entrance (see photos). We can add a single bed for a third person and for those travelling with small children we offer a travel cot and a high chair. The apartment forms part of a traditiional village family home in wonderful spacious gardens. Free wi-fi and ample parking are available. There is nowhere like it! Sorry, but we do not accept smokers. We are friendly and well travelled hosts who will make you very welcome, and we hope you will explore our garden and private woodland and meet our rare breed sheep and chickens as well as observe the plentiful wildlife. Home produced eggs are usually available and occasionally other home grown items. The apartment has been newly re-carpeted - hence the security deposit!
There is an excellent selection of places to eat and drink locally, and we will happily advise you. We can also tell you about tourist attractions - from historic homes and picturesque villages to attractive coastal locations, wonderful walking routes (for which we can provide maps) and sporting opportunities. There is a big selection of leaflets in the apartment to help you plan your excursions. Ideal for cyclists, whether looking to enjoy winding country lanes and pub lunches, the well known Surrey Hills mountain bike routes, or challenging road climbs. Lockable bike storage is available.
  • If you looking for a tranquil, peaceful and country getaway...then this is the perfect place! The entire property is very homely and just simply beautiful. The hosts are wonderful and are on the property if you need them. You have all the privacy you need. I stayed here for 9 nights and could have stayed for another 9!

  • Good place to stay.. especially if you and kids would like to see farm life. Quite and full of natural beauty.

    Virginia2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very nice stay in a lovely environment and we will definitely come back next time.

    Christoph2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • I rented this space for myself, husband and two young children. Anne-Marie provided a travel crib and high chair when she saw I had baby. She made the couch into a bed for my five year old as well. We had access to her whole property which was fun for us to roam. I will be recommending this space to friends and family.

    Jill2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a perfect tranquil place for an extended weekend break. Anne-Marie and Roger when first class hosts and always at hand fir help or any local information.

    Miguel2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The setting of this comfortable accommodation is really special: a lovely country location, magnificent gardens with access to numerous walks, a copse, sheep and chickens, and birdsong by the lily pond. Oh yes - great hosts too!

    Harry2019-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely wonderful private suite from which to explore the beautiful Surrey and West Sussex countryside. The house is located near a picture perfect village with farm animals nearby, a pub and great walking trails all around plus it's only a short drive to incredible castles and the beach (with tube access or the airports not much farther). I have stayed with Anne-Marie several times and beyond her being a gracious and warm host her place is always exactly as listed, very neat, very comfortable and picture perfect (it's located in a glorious old house with incredible gardens). Without a doubt one of the best airbnbs in the region and a perfect place to enjoy a charming bit of the English countryside.

  • The place is very clean, cozy, close to the high street of Billingshurst and around 30 minutes from the Gatwick airport. The room is well equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, cutlery, bowls, and cups. The bed makes squeezing sounds when turning around so for a light sleeper it may be better to prepare ear plugs. The bathroom is very clean with a bathtub which is what we love. The garden is beautiful and we are welcomed to use it. Peta was very quick in response and happy to provide information needed.

Pretty, self contained cottage with separate stable door entrance. Double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, large shower, basin and toilet.
French windows opening directly onto landscaped garden, which overlooks Cranleigh School playing fields. Private and secure off street parking and short walk to Cranleigh village, with it's many cafes, pubs, restaurants and shopping.
There is a nearby leisure centre with recreational facilities including a swimming pool. Also in the village is Cranleigh Arts Centre offering live music, theatre and film. Both are within walking distance along with the numerous pubs and restaurants. This is a peaceful and private location.

  • Virginia’s Pony House is an ideal place to stay. It has a kitchen with a kettle, toaster, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The lounge/bedroom has a nice double bed and a tv. The location is good, it’s only a short walk to the main high street in the centre of Cranleigh. Virginia had left milk, tea and coffee and chocolate for me which was great! Virginia was really helpful in directing me to find her and responded straight away to my messages. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

    Debbie2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Small but very comfortable accommodation. Enclosed secure garden and area for dogs.

    Gaynor2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem of a place is on the edge of the village. Its within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. There is a supermarket nearby for the things you may need to stock up on. The property itself is well appointed and really comfortable. Virginia, the host, is a lovely warm host who will meet you on arrival. There is a lovely garden which can be used to excercise your dog, if you take it with you. One word of warning though, don't leave your dog unattended in the garden as there is a very low wall to the rear of the garden which if jumped means that they can access the grounds of the school behind (which are very extenssive).

    Marie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z

I moved to the area a few years ago and love it, you can literally walk a few minutes and you're in the middle of the countryside! The village is lovely with a great pub a short walk away and several more in the area. It's also close to the local RSPB grounds and several National Trust properties. My home has been lovingly renovated and refreshed (including a brand new bathroom!). Use of the kitchen is included, but please ensure it is left clean and tidy (and try not to trip over a cat!).
I live in a very quiet cul-de-sac with limited parking, so please note if you have a car you may not get parked close to the house! I also have two cats, they do not have access to the bedrooms though.
Pulborough is a small, friendly village. There are some lovely country pubs just a short drive away. There is a supermarket within walking distance and an even closer corner shop.
  • Bonnie place is nice, clean. She is warm, kind and hospitable. I enjoyed staying at her place and having a chat as she is an interesting girl. She let me use kitchen to prep food and I always felt comfortable.

Accommodation includes a double bedroom (with potential, albeit tight, for and additional single bed if required), a fully fitted kitchen/dining room and modern shower room. Wifi is available but no TV. The kitchen includes a cafeteria and ground coffee. Local towns, Godalming and Chiddingfold, are 4 miles away, Guildford (with main shops, restaurants and theatres) 8 miles. Goodwood race course is about a 40 minute drive away with Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival meetings a few minutes further on. There are many country pubs in our surrounding villages. Our local pub, The White Hart (which claims to be the best pub in Surrey) is a short walk across the adjacent recreation ground and is well renown for its beer, gin, whisky and food. Petworth House and park (NT) are a 15/20 minute drive. Wormley is an excellent base for walkers. Close to the Greensand Way and the Devil's Punch Bowl at Hindhead, there are walks in all directions to various pubs! Maps with local walks will be available.

  • A little haven in the countryside. You can expect well appointed, decorated and furnished accommodation. Spotlessly clean, cosy, quiet, comfortable and bright. We visited in March with awful weather; it was cold, windy and rained a lot. But once inside this little cottage in Julie & Alan’s delightful garden, you will not be concerned with the weather. It must be even better in the Summer months when you can enjoy the terraced area off the first floor bedroom. Radiators in all rooms, underfloor heating in the shower room, a more than adequate dining area with sink, fridge, kettle and toaster ... just right for breakfast, from the welcome basket provided. The Black Horse local pub is less than 5 minutes walk away and has a lovely pub menu, a real log fire and friendly locals; including Julie & Alan. Nice touches, like milk, butter and orange juice in the fridge. Fresh coffee. Tasteful shower gel and shampoo. They have thought of and provided everything ... very well.

    Steve2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Alan were very welcoming hosts and the Granary is a perfect Bed and Breakfast location. Comfortable, spotless and toasty warm. I bet it's gorgeous in the summer, set in a lovely spot in the South Downs National Park. Would recommend visiting the Roman Villa at Bignor to see the floor mosaics - wonderful evocative history from 400 AD.

    Peter2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely stay with Alan & Julie. The Granary has everything you need and is right next to The Black Horse Inn which was ideal and Petworth is an easy walk away. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and Alan and Julie even left a birthday card which was a lovely touch

  • We had a lovely stay at Julie's place, which is very comfortable and clean, has lots of thoughtful touches for an easy stay (from a hot water bottle to a hairdryer, and tea/coffee and breakfast things) and is stylishly kitted out. We explored the beautiful local country side and some cosy pubs - a very relaxing retreat!

    Carys2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Julie and Alan for making us feel so welcome. Alan showed us around and was really lovely. Julie was really easy to communicate with and was really helpful when our cab couldn’t find the place. The place was sparkling clean, we had a great breakfast and chocolate cookies :)). It was a short walk (15mins) from the main town and a short drive from Pulborough Station

  • Loxwood small is a fantastic space. Much bigger than the photos show. Decorated to a very high standard, good quality furniture and lovely little touches with candles and fresh flowers on arrival. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to escape to the country with luxury accommodation. Thanks again to Liz for a fabulous stay.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It looks just like the photos but bigger. I found the large space so relaxing, but at the same it all feels very cosy. The space is self contained, but as Liz describes, it is inside her house so essentially you may hear people going up and down the stairs - I didn't find it to be an issue at all. The space is beautifully furnished. Liz is a wonderful host. I would definitely come again.

    Joshtyn Ann2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly beautiful it’s spacious, homely, and so many wonderful touches. The bed was super comfy, lots of cushions, blankets, candles etc. The place itself is clean, has everything you need and Liz was really welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly be back!

    Nadeen2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing, the photos don’t do the place justice, so light and airy and the space is so elegantly dressed. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place for a romantic getaway

    James2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfekt location and facility in all matters. More than you would expect. High quality in all details, such as kitchen items, bed linnen, towels etc. We would love to be back. Thank you Liz.

    Jasmin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying here. It did not disappoint, such a peaceful place to escape to!

    Matthew2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is stunning and has plenty of space. It is set on beautiful grounds and is part of a large house. The pictures really don't do it justice

    Amy2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, stylish and spotless apartment. Liz is a great host and very friendly. There is an adjoining wall with their family home so you can sometimes hear them but very rarely and they didn't disturb us at all. The pub down the road also served a fantastic roast. I would definitely recommend Liz's place if you're looking for a nice countryside getaway with great walks along the canal.

We are in the Surrey Hills AONB, 10 minutes from Godalming and 15 from Gomshall and Petworth. The garden overlooks miles of open fields, hills and woods stretching toward the South Downs National Park and south coast. Typically we welcome guests visiting family or for a wedding, for a UK tour, for summer work, a cycling trip or perhaps attending the annual Wings & Wheels airshow. Nearby are many National Trust sites including Black Down, Hydon Ball, Winkworth Arboretum and Petwork House.
We are between two classic country villages in a very quiet and tranquil area. To the north is Loxhill with a white deer park and sunken Roman fort, and from which there is a beautiful view of the downs to the South-East. To the south is the South Downs National Park (AONB), and we are poised at a high point to see across them from the garden and your flat itself.
We are opposite the 'white deer' park. White deer are bred and sent to other parts of Europe to re-populate White Deer colonies. There is a nice easy circular walk along a peaceful traffic-free country lane nearby. Our local church is unique in Britain and has wonderful 19C 'High Church' painted murals. The massive old English oak tree in my garden is reputedly 400 years old.

'Maggie's Hut' is a cosy shepherd's hut set in a beautiful garden. It has a comfortable double bed and a woodburning stove for colder winter nights. The Swan Inn, (currently open!) a family run 15th century pub is a short stroll away. Perfectly located for the South Downs National Park. Also near Goodwood for its famous Festival of Speed and Revival and for exploring Chichester, Petworth & Arundel. Separate outdoor hot shower (**see note below) and 'Eco' composting loo are adjacent to the hut.
If you want to get away from it all, unwind, switch off and relax, Maggie's Hut is the perfect venue. Our bijou and perfectly formed hideaway is set within a pretty garden in the downland village of Fittleworth. It is within a short stroll (literally 2 minutes!) of the fantastic Swan Inn, which serves fine ales and delicious home-cooked food. (Do check their website for opening times as it alters opening hours in winter). There are other good pubs within a short drive or a good walk. The hut is extremely cosy and warm in the winter whilst also managing to stay cool at the height of the summer, shaded by the surrounding trees. There is a very comfortable double bed with crisp cotton sheets, a cosy duvet, pillows and fluffy sheepskins. 'The Bamboo Loo' is a separate outdoor 'eco' composting toilet adjacent to the hut. There is a private outdoor gas shower with instant hot running water. Showering outside is a unique and special experience and even in the colder months our guests enthuse about it! We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Bathrobes are also provided. *** In winter, when the temperature drops below zero, we may have to drain the shower to prevent burst pipes etc. This means the shower isn't usable, but hopefully only temporarily. Once the temperature rises we will turn it back on again *** The hut has a small wood-burner. We will give you enough kindling and logs to keep a cosy fire going for those cooler nights and mornings. There is all you need to make cups of tea (herbal teas are also provided) or enjoy a cup of our own delicious ground coffee, 'Maggie's Hut Blend', which has been especially created for us by our next door neighbours at The Honeybee Coffee Roastery (a decaffeinated blend is available on request, in advance). You will find wine glasses, tumblers, plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery. There is a mini fridge, kettle and a toaster. Breakfast cereals are provided and you will find milk and water in the fridge. If you would like our special breakfast basket delivered to your door in the morning, containing warm croissants, fresh bread, butter, jams, yoghurt and fresh orange juice, ** please enquire/ request at time of booking as sometimes this is not available ** (an extra £7.50 per person per morning is payable for this). Hopefully the weather will be good enough for you to eat outside but if not, there is a fold-down table and chairs within the hut. Maggie's Hut also has mains electric and two double power sockets. Secure parking available in our private driveway. There is also undercover parking for an open top car or motorbikes. The recently opened 'Fittleworth Village Stores and Cafe' is about a 10 minute walk away. * It has a wide variety of produce, much of which is local. It also has a lovely café serving breakfast, snacks and light lunches. You can also buy alcohol, newspapers and it has a post office where you can withdraw cash. * revised opening times (mornings only) due to Coronavirus, cafe is currently closed. Food deliveries available.
There is plenty to do and see in the area, and something for everyone. There are some lovely walks straight from the front door, and slightly further afield lie the beautiful South Downs with the well known walkway and many other beautiful routes. Fittleworth itself sits within the South Downs National Park and boasts two commons. We have Hesworth Common, which is just a 5 minute walk from the Hut and is an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. If you walk to the trig point at the top you will be rewarded with beautiful far reaching views to the Downs. Fittleworth Common is a 10 minute walk away and is smaller and quieter (known mainly to the 'locals') than Hesworth but also has lovely views and a collection of unusual trees. The Lord's Piece at Coates Common (2 miles): A beautiful piece of parkland which looks like a piece of the New Forest that has been transported to West Sussex. The historic towns of Petworth, Arundel and Chichester are all within striking distance. We are also conveniently located for Goodwood with its very popular Festival of Speed and Revival Meeting. You might like to hire bikes from 'Chalkpit Trails' based in Amberley. They have a good selection of mountain bikes and E- bikes and can advise on routes. Other places of interest: Petworth House and Park (3.7 miles): Magnificent National Trust House set in a beautiful 700 acre deer park landscaped by 'Capability' Brown and immortalized in Turner's paintings. The nearby town of Petworth is worth a visit too for a mooch about the shops (there are an abundance of antique shops), and there are a variety of good places to eat and drink. Amberley (6.2 miles): is one of the most attractive of all downland villages. It has a lovely setting; on the east side there is the scarp slope of the Downs, rising up to Amberley Mount with a steep climb up to the South Downs Way . On the south and west sides of Amberley there's the atmospheric River Arun and the wild brooks. The village has its own Castle, and although it's in use as a hotel and wedding venue rather than a good old-fashioned historic monument the castle is extremely atmospheric. Non-guests of the hotel can walk around the back of the Amberley Castle on their way into Amberley Swamp. The recently renovated pub 'The Black Horse' is very popular and worth a visit. Amberley Wildbrooks Nature reserve (3.6 miles): A great haven for birdlife in winter. Amberley Working Museum (5.4 miles):This is an interesting use of an old chalk pit above the railway station - it's now home to a treasure horde of old agricultural and industrial machinery, nearly all of it still functioning. Arundel Castle (8 miles): Founded at the end of the 11th Century, it has been the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors for nearly 1000 years. Set high on a hill in West Sussex, this great Castle commands the landscape with magnificent views across the South Downs and the River Arun. The town of Arundel is also worth exploring with a wide variety of interesting independent shops and eateries. Parham House and Gardens (5.8 miles): (please note it is closed during the winter months, re-opening on Easter Sunday 2019) Parham is one of the country’s finest Elizabethan Houses, complete with a Great Hall and Long Gallery. The Gardens consist of beautiful Pleasure Grounds and a four-acre Walled Garden. There are stunning herbaceous borders, a glasshouse, vegetable garden, orchard and a 1920s Wendy House. They featured in The Guardian’s “10 best gardens to visit this summer” The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum (14.7 miles): Historic houses and agricultural buildings dating from the 13th century to Victorian times, rescued from destruction and rebuilt in a magnificent parkland setting. West Dean Gardens (15.6 miles): Nestled at the foot of the South Downs, West Dean is one of the greatest restored gardens open to the public today. Visitors can explore a wide range of features from surreal trees to the restored walled garden. • The hut was absolutely lovely and gorgeous and we had an amazing time. The hut was really clean, cosy and comfortable, and we loved the outdoor shower and toilet - it was really simple to use everything. Shirley had lots of lovely touches like local coffee, crocs and bathrobes to wear outside between the hut and shower area, and homemade flapjacks! We really had an amazing stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to find break from London.

  • We stayed for 2 nights and have only positive things to say about the Hut. Great communication, amenities, location, and more. A truly outstanding weekend getaway and very easy from London. Highly recommend to anyone looking for tranquility and relaxation.

  • If you’re looking for somewhere to escape to, this is the perfect place! Amazing hospitality and thoughtful touches, and such a relaxing place to stay. The outdoor shower is amazing! Highly recommend.

  • Can’t recommend this beautiful shepherd’s hut highly enough.... the thoughtful touches, high quality finishes, natural surroundings and welcoming and considerate hosts make it one of the nicest places we’ve stayed (& we’ve stayed in a LOT of places!) Great pub a short stroll away, and the best of the National Park on your doorstep from here.... we would love to come back and spend more time in this wonderful corner of the world :) Thank you Shirley, Charles & Rita!

  • Lovely homely space, private but with local amenities nearby as required. Good walks in the area and helpful maps left by Shirley and family. Excellent host with everything catered to. Lovely woodburner and comfy bed with enough space to get comfortable for your stay. Would strongly recommend for a country retreat or base for a while. A++

  • When I found Maggie’s Hut, I thought just from reading about it that it was going to be a magical place, but it managed even to exceed my imagination. The bathroom facilities are truly inspired. I feel the cold a great deal, so I thought the (in principle, wonderful!) outdoor shower and toilet might not show to their best in the depths of winter. Even with subzero temperatures and frost on the grass however, it was heavenly to bathe outdoors, the water is so hot, and provided the most gorgeous sensation of luxury in contrast with the chill of the air. With birdsong in the morning, and stars in the evening, it felt truly heavenly. The hut itself is perfectly charming, everything cosy and tranquil, and the wood burner does a phenomenal job of heating! We even had to open the (so, so lovely) barn door for a bit of a breeze. Shirley’s breakfast basket was simply the final touch of pastoral charm in this lovingly arranged little hideaway. It’s phenomenal value for money - especially considering the rarity of these sustainable facilities. Composting toilets are so much better for the planet, and in fact so much more pleasant to use!

  • Maggie's hut is perfect for a getaway in the South Downs. The hut gives you privacy and all the amenities you need while still letting letting you switch off for the time you are there. It makes a great base whether you want to drive further afield in the area or simply relax and do local walks which start at the end of the drive way. There are lots of great walks starting from the village, a good pub right on the doorstep (2 mins away!), a lovely cafe up the road and wineries nearby. The eco toilet and shower make this a unique experience and was great fun even in the middle of winter. The cabin was super warm and cosy and you have a lovely space whether you're sitting inside or outside. Shirley and Charles were great hosts, very friendly and with some great tips on the local area. We'll definitely head back to Maggie's hut in future!

  • It was an amazing stay. We loved escaping and still can't believe we managed to create a fire that didn't go out immediately! The outside shower was amazing. As someone who always runs cold, there was a slight worry - but you would never know it was December in there! We slept in the most comfortable bed ever and your homemade bread was gorgeous. We will be back to enjoy another peaceful, perfect break. Thank you.

  • Very kindly let us check in a little early as we had to get to a family wedding, host incredibly accomodating, check we were all ok, told us the basics, heating etc. And left us to it. Also, just as a bonus, we got to meet the incredibly cute kitten who lived in the main house too! Would recommend the space. Lovely and warm, perfect as an over night base (just as a side note, there is no toilet/bathroom door which didn't matter for us at all, but good to know all the same)

  • great little Barn to stay in. every thing you need, set in a lovely part of the country .. really recommend this. little place.

    Matt2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little converted barn unit, hosted by a terrifically friendly host (who I never actually met but was quite responsive). There are actually several units for rental. I stayed in the slightly larger of the two "side" units (not, I think, the one pictured here) and it was quite homey and idiosyncratic: a small comfortable leather couch, surprisingly well-equipped full kitchen, and a double bed that was (I think) two smaller mattresses pushed together. The bathroom was very small, with a quirky shower that took a lot of playing with to get right, and there's no door to the toilet, which is right next to the bed. Nice shuttered windows and dimmable lighting. The location is not exactly secluded: more like a small farm with a few units all looking out on to a nice open lawn with barbecue and a couple of horses nearby. It's just off a country road that connects Haslemere to Chiddingfold, so there isn't much within walking distance. But it's very quiet and peaceful. Alex was also great: she forgot to provide milk for tea, and when I mentioned it she asked another guest if he would provide it, which he did! It all felt very familial and warm. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Not high-end luxury, exactly, just a really good atmosphere.

Dragonfly Lodge is a newly converted luxury self-catered apartment tucked away in beautifully quiet West Sussex countryside. This spacious self-contained flat renovated from a large double garage is a naturally light, modern space nestled in front of stunning woodland in our 7 acre garden and Alpaca field. With a river, canal, rolling fields, woods and a meca of footpaths on your doorstep, this is the perfect launchpad to explore the countryside by foot, bike or horse. It's dog walkers heaven.
Dragonfly Lodge is an entire self-contained single-storey ground floor apartment with private entrance and parking. Light, modern and airy with views across fields, woodland and the Wey & Arun canal. The lodge is attached to our family home but feels very private. Spacious parking at the front of the lodge makes it easy to unload your things. Vertical blinds let in loads of light through the two large double patio doors and give you extra privacy when desired. The lodge is extremely well-kitted out with everything you should need to cook in the fully equipped large kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. We include a welcome box with fresh ground coffee, organic teas, sugar, fresh juice, cereals, local eggs, bread, jam and butter. There are kitchen essentials like bin bags, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil and washing equipment for you to use. The King size bedroom has a comfy bed, quality cotton linen, luxury wool duvet to make your stay as comfortable and hotel-like as possible. There is tons of clothes storage space in the large wardrobe and chest of drawers. A patio door leads to the outside private patio and seating area with view over the woodland and our friendly Alpacas who will be grazing nearby. The living room has a huge L shaped sofa and arm chair with smart tv, netflix and wifi. Cosy sofa blankets are provided for snuggling under. In the large bathroom with walk in shower you will find soft Egyptian cotton towels warmed on the heated towel rail and a selection of hotel toiletries and plenty of storage. Well behaved dogs are very welcome to join you adhering to our house rules. We ask is that any dog mess is picked up and that dogs stay on leads in our garden so they can not roam free into our back field and scare the Alpaca. We have a very placid friendly senior french bulldog Wynny who you may see when he wakes up from one of his many lengthy naps. The enclosed patio gives you a secure outside space for children or pets or to relax with a glass of wine. There is plenty of grass for dogs to stretch their legs on at the front leading down to the many footpaths straight from our garden along the canal and to local villages and pubs. The lodge has been converted with couples in mind but you are very welcome to bring babies / children as there is space for an extra bed/cot. We have everything you would need that could be added (on request) - travel cot, highchair, books and indoor and outdoor toys. The large corner sofa bed can be made into 1 adult single or 2 child single beds or a large king size. Extra bedding can be provided for a small charge.
Stunningly beautifully and quiet West Sussex countryside. Ifold is a quiet private estate Hamlet (shop reopening in April 2020) and we are located at the very end of a long winding farm track over the river bridge and across the canal out the back of the hamlet. It is a short 10-15 minute walk along the canal to Loxwood where there is a great local shop, pub and award winning butchers. 7 minutes drive the other direction is another great local shop and tearoom at Plaistow located on a picturesque village green.
  • Sarah's place was absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful and the added touches just make it above and beyond expectations. We really needed a secluded break away and that's exactly what we got. This is its own little paradise in the countryside.

    Chelsea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic, relaxing couple of nights away. Sarah couldn’t have been more accommodating and really looked after us. The lodge is spotless and has a lovely homely feel to it. Perfect location if you’re looking for a break - especially if you have a pooch, brilliant walking and pubs nearby. Thank you Sarah and family, we will be back!

    Aaron2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Sarah for a wonderful few days at your converted barn. A bottle of cava, orange juice and milk with bread in the bread bin, fully stocked tea and coffee made all the difference for us arriving with nothing. It is soooooo worth the drive through the country roads for a stunningly beautiful location and facilities. The giant walk in shower was luxury and the beautiful fully fitted kitchen including a washing machine and dish washer was just lovely. We were so lucky that Sarah was happy to accommodate our three small white fluffy dogs too! It was just wonderful to enjoy the drive and explore the South Downs, the coast and pretty near by towns and villages. Thank you so much Sarah!

  • From the first message to enquire, all the way through our stay, to the day we got home and messaged as we thought we'd forgotten something, Sarah's communication speed and helpfulness is the best we've had using Air BnB. The lodge is a superb standard, spotlessly clean and little touches that make the difference are thought of. Sarah and her husband even ensured our 10 month old enjoyed his stay by providing toys and a cot which were waiting in the lodge. The location allows for stunning walks and sun rises and is absolutely perfect if you want a quiet break from the 9-5. You'd never know the lodge is in the grounds of Sarah's House as privacy is completely respected although Sarah and her husband are on hand for helpful tips during your stay or to answer any questions. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in the area

  • Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Dragonfly Cottage for two nights over New Years with our 8 month old son; looking to escape the hubbub of London and get some fresh air. From start to finish communication with Sarah was fantastic - she was particularly considerate in offering options for placement of the travel cot (which she provided, as well as a high chair and some of her daughters old toys). The Cottage itself is a wonderful cosy space with plenty of room for little ones to play within sight. The surroundings are beautiful and we felt we could be in the middle of nowhere; we took a walk along the canal to Loxwood which was picturesque even on a grey day - we only wish we were able to stay another day or two so we could have explored further. Finally, we took advantage of the opportunity to feed the alpacas which our son loved - not something you get to experience with every Airbnb. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a pleasure to deal with such a great host as Sarah - would recommend to all!

    Kat2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a fantastic host and the lodge a lovely place to stay in the Surrey countryside. She organised lots of nice items for breakfast which was a really nice touch as we didn’t have to worry about grabbing things from the supermarket. The lodge is exactly as you see it in the photos, very stylishly decorated and sparkling clean. There are some really nice walks to do in the area and her pub recommendations are great. We loved Noah’s Ark in Lurgashall. We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend Sarah’s lodge.

    Valeria2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay at the lodge - the location really is about as secluded as you could possibly want, facilities in the lodge are fantastic and Sarah couldn't be a more helpful host. Really appreciated the welcome pack and the overall cleanliness of the place, bed was lovely and comfy, kitchen was well-equipped... marvellous!

    Matt2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Sarah contacted us to check if we had any food allergies so she could provide us with a lovely welcome pack. We stayed for a few nights and we didn't really need anything and the place was extremely comfortable and private during our stay. It was very clean and spacious with a private patio looking the Alpacas, which was great! We cannot thank Sarah enough for her hospitality and we are looking forward to coming back again and soon. We would highly recommend anyone to stay.

  • Had a wonderful overnight stay. Vicky was always very prompt in communication, and was there to show us around. She was extremely helpful showing us how everything worked, and had left the place cosy and warm (unfortunately a couple of places we have stayed have noticeably scrimped on the heating which really impacted our stay!). The bed was incredibly comfortable and felt very luxurious. Vicky had left lovely thoughtful touches such as fresh(delicious!)bread, butter, milk etc. The location is a short stroll into Cranleigh which was perfect. Will definitely be back.
