Due to Covid19 dates in April and May have been restricted and we are not taking bookings for these months as we will be closed. Please message us should you have a booking enquiry. Stunning studio loft apartment situated just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the Sea. Self contained, self catering with kitchen. Private access to apartment from Top Road. High spec finish within. Wifi with all the mod cons! Minimum 2 night stay.
Wake up to the sea at the end of your bed! Some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft. Always cleaned to a very high standard.
Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your summer holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 30 years but honestly, it really is! Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from the house. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop is a good size and has everything you might need with daily deliveries of fresh food as well as a post office. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. The Blue Plate restaurant is stunning and very popular locally with an excellent reputation for good food and service, it also has a deli that is open daily. Downderry beach is just 100 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with a few pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks so plenty to do. Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and. Stones throw from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound. Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic. To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. I would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice. To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive. Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). All but Morrisons do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here. So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.
  • Booked James place for a suprise present for my parents. They said they had a great time and enjoyed the amazing views from the apartment.

  • The whole loft was in perfect order and The cooking facilities were wonderful for us to have a home cooked meal and everything was in working order. Everything was wonderfully clean and felt like home and that all adds to the desire as a guest to leave it as we we found it. If you want a little nook and cranny to hide away then I’d whole heartedly recommend.

  • The Loft is a lovely place - just as the photos show you - the view is simply beautiful. It's a stone throw from the beach, the pub, eateries and local shop. My husband and I had a relaxing long weekend and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

  • Daniel and Victoria’s place was brilliant, the pod is located in a lovely garden far enough away from the other pods that you would think you were there alone. The hot tub was a lovely addition and David was an excellent host with quick replies and great tips for local walks and restaurants! Overall I would really recommend.

  • The most perfect night away for my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. From fire wood to fairy light lit hot tub at 8pm under the stars. A dreamy location which was perfect for a getaway and romantic night away. Both hosts were easy to contact, helpful (when we got lost in particular) and ever so friendly. We had a lovely tour around the venue before being dropped off to our beautiful pod. Little touches made it extra special. I would highly recommend a stay as it was just perfect and just what we needed. No TV or technology distraction just nature and serenity. Stunning! We already can’t wait to get back. Thanks again! ❤️

  • We had an amazing time staying in the ‘Juniper cozy pod’ enjoyed having a fire each night then sleeping with the electric blanket. Kept us warm and able to do this kind of stay in January. Very quiet, beautiful garden and surroundings and great hosts to stay with. We both felt very comfortable staying at your accommodation. Thank you!!

  • A lovely home-from-home with a friendly and welcoming feel to it. Quiet and relaxing with stunning sea and country views accompanied by birdsong and the sound of the sea. Sheila & Martin are friendly, non-intrusive hosts.

    Emma2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing weekend at this apartment. Great views and very cosy. Extra touches such as dressing gowns, slippers, towels, beach towels, milk, butter, prosecco and even fresh scones with cream and jam. Martin met us at the door as soon as we arrived and explained everything for us along with some local knowledge of where to eat. The Coddy Shack was a favourite for us. I think it's safe to say we all fell in love with Seaton and this apartment. Will definitely be returning. Perfect weekend.

    Dan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Martin and Sheila for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The added touch of scones on arrival and the thoughtful gesture of eggs bread and milk were truly appreciated. Great hospitality!! Your accommodation was everything we expected and more! Stunning views were enjoyed from this ideal property and walks along the beach we’re loved too! A nice way to relax and unwind for a few days. Thank you, Cherie and Marcus.

  • THEY WERE BOTH VERY FRIENDLY AND CONSIDERATE AND ALWAYS ASKED HOW WE WERE GETTING ON AND IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE

    Philip2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Martin & Sheila are by far the best Host’s. Their hospitality was just amazing.. always made sure to check in on us and 100% insisted on coming to knock or call for them if there was anything at all we needed. Their place is so cosy and personal with its touches, it really feels like a home away from home for sure. The view was outstanding, couldn’t get enough of it. Martin and Sheila’s recommendations in places to visit and to eat were great. They also have a massive box of flayers, maps, menus, etc to help with exploring choices. (I thought that was really cool in doing that since google and the internet doesn’t always do so well haha!) Everyone was so friendly.. we went to a really nice pub for food and drinks called ‘Inn On The Shore’ in Downderry the next town on.. we walked there which took about 15-20 mins, a lovely walk with a great view of the sea. The next town Looe which was the other direction was about a 10min drive, where some lovely little cafes and the best fish and chip shops were. We also did a little shop at Co-op and the farm shop there. There’s so much more to say, however I think you all to go see the place for yourselves and stay with these lovely Host’s. Thank you again Martin & Sheila, We can’t wait to hopefully come again in the summer, we’d definitely stay with you! Chanelle and Herve Xxxx

    Chanelle-Lorreta2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the place was exceptional, stunning view, cosy and beautiful house, nice treats for us, like prosecco, enjoying the hot tub and the view at the same time. We will definitely come back one day.

    Nino2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment with a most beautiful view. We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the extra touches like a bottle of prosecco and scones in the oven to welcome us with. The hot tub was ready and waiting and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as well as our two pooches! Thank you so much and we will be back in summer hopefully.

    Jo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Martin are amazing hosts, extremely welcoming and helpful and left me to enjoy the peace and quiet. The views from the property are amazing, and even at the beginning of February I managed a lunch on the balcony in the sunshine. They have very thoughtfully supplied much more than I was expecting which was extremely comforting being a lone traveller. I will return. Thank you.

  • Great location with some amazing views. Would definitely come and stay here again!

  • We loved our stay, louise was very thoughtful and left a happy birthday note for my partner. I would recommend arriving in daylight, as it would be tricky to find at night. But even more just to appreciate the amazing views! We caught a taxi to Plymouth for a meal the first night, the second we went to vaults, a local bar 5 mins walk. A Perfect base for walking the south west coastline, which is what we did. Mount edgecombe is only half an hour on the bus, which was lovely.

    Joanne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Beach House in an amazing setting. Highly recommend!!

    Claire2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A snug and comfortable beach chalet with an outstanding view of the sea and coastline. We'll located for other areas of interest in Cornwall and Devon. Loved our stay here. Even in a stormy February, the cornish weather provided opportunities to get out and explore the region.

    Stuart2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just wonderful. Somewhat of a Tardis as it's much bigger in the inside, this was a lovely little place to stay for a weekend. It is so well fitted and very cosy with the heating on it staying over winter months. If you're lucky enough to get a clear day the sunset will take your breath away. You have unspoilt views of the sea and coastline. Location is great, lots of great walks as well as pubs in Millbrook just a 5 minute drive away. Louise was really helpful, because yes it can be hard to find, but we managed quite easily despite heavy fog and darkness. 100% recommend it and would love to come back in the summer months

SeaHut is a cabin in the clouds. It has a panoramic view from Looe in the west to Rame Head in the east, including St George's Island. It is 5 minutes walk from the beach, on the SW Coast Path and good for exploring the "forgotten corner of Cornwall". Great for walkers, cyclists or anyone who wants to enjoy the beach or simply take in the view. The view is to die for, but it does mean a climb of about 90 steps to reach the cabin - it's worth it when you get there!
The cabin is well equipped with plenty of space for 2 people. In the living room, there is kitchen area with 2 burner hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, sink and all the usual pots and pans. There is a shower room with toilet and basin and a small bedroom with a king size cabin bed. In the living room, there is a sofa, table and chairs. Outside there is a table, chairs and fire basket - everything you need to enjoy the stars and the sea.
SeaHut is half way between Downderry and Seaton - 10 minutes walk to each. As well as a great beach, mostly used by locals, Downderry has a well stocked village shop; the Blue Plate - a restaurant and deli; and the pub, the Inn on the Shore. In the other direction, Seaton has a bar and a beach cafe. The Eden Project, the National Marine Aquarium, several National Trust properties, Bodmin Moor and lots of lovely beaches are all within 45 minutes drive.
  • Great little sea hut with a view! Cosy and in a great location! Looking forward to coming back!

  • Great little cabin with an amazing sea view. The perfect getaway. Ample cookware and a comfy bed. We were very warm despite cold weather outside. Such good value. Would highly recommend!

    Lucy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin with exceptional views and perfect size for 2 people complete with everything you need. Food at the blue plate was delicious, but it’s a shame that the local pub isn’t that great, as you do have to rely on the car to get further afield. Luckily there were some really good options in Kingsand - particularly the Devonport Inn has delicious food and a great atmosphere.

  • Lindsey’s place was lovely and can’t wait to go back in summer

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • SeaHut was indeed sparkling clean. The views from the cabin are incredible and well worth the healthy climb up. Cosy and warm, neat and compact, nicely private, quiet (the seabirds were in good voice but they didn't bother us), convenient location - what more could you want? Lindsey was very responsive and kindly helped us with a last-minute query about recycling, which we really appreciated. We stayed 5 days and are hoping to come back in the Spring to gaze out at the sea in different weather. Highly recommend this property.

An attractive 4 berth bunkhouse with en-suite shower room and small food preparation area. We welcome groups of friends and families and well behaved dogs! The coast path is a 5 min walk away and Seaton Beach a 15 min walk with good restaurant, pub and a beach cafe. With sea views and peaceful rural location, this compact accommodation is ideal for a 1 - 3 nights stay. Near to Looe (4 miles). Enjoy a relaxed stop-over with outdoor seating area and space to enjoy the views, eat and BBQ.
The bunkhouse is a quirky and characterful space, with 4 bunk beds, 2 accessed via a ladder. It has a good sized en-suite shower room as well as an attractive food preparation area complete with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. Please note there is no cooker, however there are many excellent places to eat out locally - just ask for some recommendations! Bedding and towels are provided, as are crockery and cutlery for 4 people. Outside there is a picnic area, with table and undercover BBQ area. Our garden enjoys beautiful sea views across to Rame Head and is incredibly peaceful and rural. Only minutes from the coast path, the bunkhouse is perfect for walkers, cyclists or anyone wanting to explore this hidden corner of Cornwall. Just half an hour from Plymouth into Cornwall, we are ideally situated for access to many of Cornwalls attractions, including unspoilt beaches such as Whitsand Bay, delightful fishing villages, such as Looe and Polperro as well as being within driving distance of the Eden Project. Please note that we are on a well for our water supply and a septic tank system, so are careful with water consumption. Excessive water use can cause us to run out!! We are seeking to live in an environmentally friendly way, using electricity and water wisely and recycling as much as possible.
Very peaceful and quiet location. Selection of eating places within a 15 minute walk, in nearby Seaton.
  • A great little place for an overnight stay. Clean and in a great location. Would happily stay here again.

  • Frankie's bunkhouse was such a lucky find. If you are walking the South West Coast Path, you couldn't find a better spot to stop. The bunkhouse is close to the path and is so comfortable, well equipped and, if you're visiting in winter, very warm and cosy particularly after a long day walking. The beds are very comfortable and, there is a fab hot shower. couldn't have asked for any more, thanks Frankie!

    Clive2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie saved us when we had to do an unexpected overnight stay. Frankie was fantastic with very quick responses and the place is great. Really cool little space with loads of character. Quiet and tidy which was absolutely perfect for us. Thank you Frankie.

  • Fabulous little bunkhouse with everything you could need, perfect for walking the coast path and lovely hosts.

    Joanna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie’s bunkhouse is a great stay for shorter visits to cornwall. A cosy and compact accomodation, great fun for little ones, and a great option in this location. We stayed for two nights whilst visiting family in Plymouth. Storm Dennis was in full effect, we had great fun, it’s a shame we didn’t get a chance to trek along the nearby coastal path... next time!

    Bruce2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this cozy bunkhouse in January. Frankie was really friendly and a great host and making sure we had everything we needed. The bunks were so comfortable, the shower was lovely and hot and the location is fantastic for coastal walks and beach trips. My 2 boys loved it too especially the bunk beds and being right by the sea!

    Laura2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful couple of days celebrating New Year in the Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse is wonderful - quite, snug, comfy beds and great facilities. We had a wonderful time relaxing here as a family of four and hiking on the coast path 5 minutes away! We were made to feel really welcome and communication in regards to the booking was really quick and easy - thank you Frankie for a lovely couple of days.

Our Apartment is on the first floor of a two storey building, situated in the lovely Cornish village of Downderry. The village is on the coast with a small fishing fleet and unspoilt stony / rocky beach, fantastic rockpools too. Within a 10 minute walk there is a Vegan cafe, a Restaurant / Deli, a village shop and a traditional English pub with great sea views.
This area of Cornwall is often called the forgotten corner, whilst it is popular there are fewer crowds here than in other parts. There are many gardens and estates to visit in this compact area, including Edgcumbe House, Trematon gardens, Pentillie House (Delicious series - Dawn French) and Antony House (Alice in Wonderland). We are also conveniently situated for walking on the extensive south west coast path. The Village itself is also well situated for visiting Looe, Kingsand, Cawsand , and Polperro. If you want to try something different catch the passenger ferry from Cremyl and spend time in Royal William yard in Plymouth across the river Tamar.
Our village is generally quiet and friendly. The homes are well cared for and there is a pride in our community.
  • We had a brilliant time here and didn't want to leave. The apartment was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. We had a great time exploring the local area and enjoying the sea air.

  • Lovely stay in fact it was that nice we have booked it again in July 2020 for Two weeks. my only grumble is not about the place we stayed but about the Great Blacked Back Gulls who bombed my car in. other than that the place we stayed and the area we visited was fantastic. The View at Whitsand Bay and Crumplehorn Inn in Polperro are fantastic as was the ambiance in the Blue Peter in Polperro.

  • Lovely apartment close to the centre of Downderry and beach. Pub,restaurant and shop all within walking distance, downhill but uphill on the way back!!!! Apartment is very well kitted out and was sparkling clean.

  • Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful apartment, situated in the lovely village of Downderry. We arrived on the 28th October to a clean apartment with a lovely gesture of dairy essentials left for us in the fridge, this was very much appreciated. The apartment was fully equipt with everyday items which we could freely use. Thank you once again for letting us stay at your apartment. Hope to stay again soon. Kind Regards Rhys and Gareth

  • A well equipped and spotlessly clean apartment in a lovely location.

    Anne2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is well located and you can see the sea from the balcony. The sofa is super comfy, and the kitchen very well furnished. The bath and shower are great after a long day of coastal walking. There were lovely touches like the milk and butter left for us which is very kind. We would highly recommend this apartment and Downderry as a base for exploring Cornwall.

  • Perfect place to get away with beauty surrounding countryside. On arrival David was there to meet us and show how everything works. Gina has kindly left scones cream and jam. Our first port of call was to watch the sun go down in their private hot tub, lovely touch. Do contact them as we had difficulty finding the property as out sat nav or google maps wouldn’t bring it up. Beautiful relaxing place if you wish to get away from it all. A return is a must. Thank you David and Gina

This is a light airy home in a small village. I live here and have a painting studio in the garden. There is a 700 year old church in the village, a shop with post office, and a pub which serves food at the weekends. The house is located right on the A38, which has its benefits as it will take you to any of the great places in Cornwall on a fast road, but there are also beautiful beaches, walks, and National Trust properties nearby.
You will be welcome to use the kitchen for your breakfast. There’s ample parking in the village and a small residents car park out front for loading and unloading your things. Super fast broadband and a great phone signal, so not like lots of places in Cornwall!
Just up the road in Tideford is The Rod and Line pub - one of the best local restaurants for fresh seafood!
  • Very clean and stylish house, great host, would recommend!

With beautiful panoramic sea views overlooking Looe Bay, this first floor self contained apartment is set in a quiet elevated position at the rear of a timber clad detached house, mid way between Seaton and Downderry and just five minutes walk from the beach, local pubs and restaurants.
  • Jo's place was in a great location to explore the Cornish coast. The local village has a choice of a pubs, a restaurant and a village shop, all of which were great. We stayed for four nights and visited many of the local (and not so local) attractions, including the Eden Projects, St Ives, and the Minack Theatre. Jo was a great host and was very helpful.

    Scott2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, location with lovely views over the sea. Just a short walk from Seaton beach, a favourite for surfers with beachside cafes and a nice local pub. Just a few minutes from Downderry square where we had a lovely lobster lunch, and also a cliff-top pub and local store. We had various trips; to Plymouth by ferry, and did the 5 mile clifftop walk from Looe to Polperry with stunning views. Also a lovely 2.5 mile forest walk to a nice pub. It was comfortable with a nice bed. Only negative comment, no Vodafone coverage from the apartment, but excellent wifi providing access to whatsapp, and to Netflix though our laptop (we took an HDMI lead and the TV was very good). There are several steps up to the apartment so unsuitable for people with mobility problems. The kitchen is quite small but adequate, perfect for us because we wanted to explore the Cornish pubs and restaurants, and were not disappointed. As we had bus passes we managed to make good use of the local bus service although infrequent. Jo was very helpful. Altogether perfect for what we were after.

  • Nice little guest house for a couple with a great view of the ocean. Good base to visit beaches and explore East Cornwall.

    Gary2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jo’s place was absolutely lovely! Compact little studio with everything you’d need for a Cornish get-away. The sea view from the back gardens and the window seat of the apartment was breath-taking, and many long happy moments were spent staring at the horizon. The apartment is within easy reach of the beach, and walk along the beach from Seaton to Downderry was a nice gentle stroll, happily finished with a drink and good food at the pub in Downderry. Would love to stay again!

  • We had a lovely few days stay at Ridney Sea View. Jo was very welcoming and advised she'd be available if we needed anything. The property had everything you could think of including DVD and video player with a small variety of films to choose from; lots of information about the area and a variety of games to play hidden in a box behind the sofa! Our favourite feature had to be the bay window seat which looked out to the sea! The location was perfect with a short walk to Downderry beach or Seaton Beach. Walking distance to small village shop, local pubs and restaurants where everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Short drive into Looe where there is a beach and harbour with lots of shops to explore. We would definitely consider staying here again.

    Kirstie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely quirky house 😊 everything was very clean and kitchen had everything we needed, including an oven. Parking was fine outside the house. Beds were comfy! Stairs are tricky and wouldn't be suitable for anyone who struggles with stairs but our 5 year old thought they were a great challenge 😊 thank you for a lovely stay!

  • Great value stay in lovely little cottage. Warm and cosy especially with burner on. Easy communication with Beth. Parking was a bit tricky but wouldn't hesitate to stay again

    Andrew2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just as described and pictured in the listing. It's small but uses the space well and there's more room upstairs than you might think. The stairs are steep so wouldn't recommend very young or elderly people to rent the cottage but that wasn't a problem for us at all and we loved it's character. Beth was informative and helpful and the tea and coffee etc were appreciated touches. Great location to get into Plymouth or further into Cornwall.

    Georgia2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • A charming and cosy cottage with lovely character and interior design! Beth was very welcoming and helpful when checking in. Situated just opposite and with views of the church. The thoughtful touches such as cereals, milk and wash things were very kind.

  • We stayed at Beths cottage for a pre-Christmas break in 2019 and absolutely loved it. Exactly what we expected a little more. A very quirky, well maintained cottage at a great price for the time of year - with some lovely peaceful surroundings and within driving distance of all the required amenities. We will definitely be returning!

  • Where to start about this wonderful home? Firstly, the house is even nicer than the photos and everything you can think of has been provided. There are lots of thoughtful touches and all mod cons so you don’t need to take much with you. We were a party of 9 and a dog and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and socialise as well as close to the beach via some steps. We visited for New Year’s Eve and the House was decorated with twinkly lights and a gorgeous tree. The hosts Petra and Shaun were great with all prior communications and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is a bit remote but easy to find if you follow the precise directions. We pre-ordered a food delivery to be delivered by Tesco. Unfortunately the delivery man wasn’t keen to drive to the house due it being dark and narrow lane so we had to compromise and collect from him however this wasn’t a big issue and may have been avoided if the delivery had taken place in daylight. All in all a wonderful experience and really hope to visit again.

  • Fab house in great location, excellent quality and extra touches really worked. Great log fires, fab views, good kitchen all allowed a great family break. Thanks.

  • Perfect! I cannot fault this experience in any way at all! Petra, our host, couldn't have done more to make our experience the best it could possibly be. This was like a masterclass in how to do AirB&B! Everything that could be expected was done to perfection -- and then so much more too. The place was impeccably cleaned. Everything was in good working order. The kids (and adults) had so much more to play with than they could possibly have even imagined. For example: 3D TV with ten(?) sets of glasses and an infinite collection of accessible videos. The location is great too -- as long as you don't mind the short walk up and down the hill, which, for us, was not a problem at all. If I had more time right now, I could happily keep going -- and it would all be good things! Good on ya Petra! Thank you!

The house it just a short drive from many scenic and beautiful locations, as well as great restaurants. We will not hesitate to return to stay in this lovely home and have a cuppa with Mark. Thank you, all the best.

Modern contemporary decor in white and grey , a cosy log burner and amazing views over the sea. King size bed with cotton sheets.
Lovely cosy chalet studio style with separate toilet and shower. Modern kitchen with cooker, hob and microwave. Separate laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Spacious patio area with BBQ and seating and two armchairs with outside cushions. We are currently waiting for a broadband connection but mobile signals can be accessed on the cliff but it is a bit patchy.
Freathy Cliff is a small community made up of wooden chalets over looking Whitsand Bay. There are some lovely local places to eat to meet all tastes. The beautiful sandy beach offers 4 miles of virtually deserted coastline.
  • This place is an absolute gem. Suzanne, the host, was fantastic throughout and remained in contact in case we needed anything. It was so lush to be so close to the sea and wake up to that view every morning. Anyone thinking about booking this place - do it! We spent a week here and we’re already looking forward to the next time. We slept really well, the bed was very, very comfortable. The place was so tidy and had clearly had a lot of love and effort put into every detail. The log burner was fantastic for March evenings, sitting close with a book or the TV on. Suzanne has left books here too, which I really appreciated as I’d forgotten to bring my own! The beach is a very short walk from the place, but be careful on the last couple of stone steps as these have eroded away. Our dog absolutely loved the beach and spent a lot of time watching the sea from the decking. There’s also a gorgeous waterfall here, going from the cliff to the sea. There was very little phone signal here but that can be expected as you’re on a cliff. Lastly, the hot tub was perfect for catching the sunset with a glass of bubbly.

    Cara2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away from it all then this is the place to stay. Fantastic views and tranquil. The chalet is perfect in every way. What makes it amazing is it’s location, hot tub and log burner. Well recommended.

  • The Gatehouse is a fantastic AirBnB find. Much more spacious than the pictures indicate, it was comfortable and had lovely touches like a fire laid ready, heated towel rail on and a vase full of fresh daffodils. We stayed four nights, drank at local pub, ate at local restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.it was a real highlight to have access to walk around the estate. Absolutely brilliant, and a great base from which to explore Cornwall.

  • Clean, lovely space, well equipped (from washing machine to olive oil in the kitchen). Communication was great, we arrived quite late on Sunday but Mark was very quick to help out. Even some breakfast items were left for us in the kitchen. We utterly enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend this place.

  • We LOVED our stay at the gatehouse. It was perfect for our needs. St Germans is a lovely little village. The property was spotlessly clean and the linens and towels were of good quality. We’d love to return again and stay longer next time. Lots of lovely little touches that made the stay so enjoyable.

  • We had a fantastic stay in Prosecco. A really stylish, super cosy pod (even when a Cornish storm rolls in) with stunning countryside and sea views. It has everything you could need - the little touches have been really well thought out, and we even had fresh farm milk and a bottle of prosecco waiting for us in the fridge on arrival. Emma is a great host and is always on hand to help. We have already been recommending Lydcott Glamping to our friends and family, and will definitely be back for another stay.

  • Our glamping pod was like a little oasis - lovely for a few day’s away. It’s close to lots of activities & restaurants but secluded enough to enjoy some peace and quiet! Friendly hosts & the bottle of Prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch. Contact the hosts if you’d like one of their lovely local Cornwall hampers, the breakfast hamper is definitely worth a buy! Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • We stayed in Prosecco, the smaller of the two cabins & had a fantastic time. We made use of the fire-pit one night & drank too much under a starry sky. The bed was super comfy & we loved the view out of the window by our feet of the valley & sea in the distance. Emma was really helpful whenever we had a question. With a bit of notice Emma can provide homemade bread & freshly laid eggs. I highly recommend staying here & I hope to do so again in the future.

  • A simple and cosy hut that had everything I needed for a brilliant one night stay. I really enjoyed the hot tub, the bed was comfy and it was nice sleeping to the sound of the heavy rain. I got lost getting there because Google maps has this location pinned further down the road to where it actually is but Keith was a friendly and helpful host who helped me to get there and gave me a nice quick tour of the facilities. A cute 2 bedroom chalet/bungalow just 200m from Seaton beach with parking for 2 cars and WiFi Seaton is on the South West coastal path so has spectacular walks. As well as the nature reserve, there is the Smugglers Inn pub, the Waves Bar & Restaurant and the Beach Café all within a few paces of the door Close by are the beautiful Looe and Polperro fishing villages for pasties and views or Adrenaline Quarry for the more adventurous It has a fitted kitchen, shower room, 2 Bedrooms & patio area
The chalet/bungalow is on the flat part of Seaton so access is easy by car or on foot. Within a very short safe walk is a play park and green for children as well as the beach just 200 meters from the door. The beach is dog friendly and there are life guards on the beach in the high season. Its mostly soft shingle but also with rock pools to explore. With the right conditions, Seaton can also be a surf spot. I am a keen kayaker and this is a perfect place for that as beach access is easy and there is ample space to securely store a couple of kayaks in the parking area. Seaton provides a great location to paddle a kayak in the waves or to cover a longer distance along the spectacular coast punctuated by the odd pub to help any thirst problems. Note: There is no cot available for babies. There a couple of steps to get onto the patio before the front door though the house is all on one level.
Seaton is a quiet neighborhood with easy flat beach access and easy access to the main A38. Seaton hasn't become overly crowded like some other parts of Cornwall so this is truly a peaceful place to put your feet up. The beach is good for swimming and kayaking and occasionally for a quick surf. It is also a great starting point though to visit other parts of Cornwall including natural beauty like the moors, coast paths and the many coastal towns or for more organised sights like the Eden Project, Adrenaline Quarry and the likes.

  • Darren and Rosa’s place is lovely, we had a fab holiday here. The cottage is very clean, nice quiet location, has a good kitchen and a great location to explore Cornwall. No problem with parking. Hosts are very friendly and on hand should you require any help. If I could suggest one improvement would be to get faster internet, especially if you have young ones and the weather turns poor, but this is not a deal breaker. Highly recommended.

Additionally, guests are encouraged to explore the 8 acres of lake, vineyards and woodland, maintained by the owners. Guests can also use the private lake for swimming or fishing should they so wish. Private yet with easy access to many Cornish attractions.
A beautiful and secluded setting in the countryside, yet within 600m of the south coast. Guests are welcome to bring one well-behaved dog (for an additional fee).
Guests can send time exploring the Rame Peninsular or use the cottage as a base for Cornwall or west Devon. Nearby are a number of little coffee shops overlooking the spectacular Whitsand Bay, as well as the town of Looe with its annual music festival in September. Nearby St Germans hosts the Port Eliot Festival each July.
  • Claire was a great host. We had a lovely, restful break staying at the clean, stylish and well equipped Little Mill and touring the scenic local area....our little dog loved it too! We really appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts. Would highly recommend!

  • If you are looking for somewhere private and quiet this cosy cottage for 2 ticks all the boxes. Beautiful surroundings and the lovely Port Wrinkle beach on your door step.

  • Fantastic little cottage in an amazing location. Stunning scenery and the cutest little place. The tiny roads in the approach are tight for nice, big or new cars!

  • A fantastic place to stay if your looking to get away from your busy lives and relax. We had everything we needed at Little Mill, tastefully furnished and the log burner was great. Ideal place for walking the dog but also beaches nearby if you want to explore. Definitely worth a visit and we will return in the future.

  • Just arrived home after spending four days at Little Mill. If you want peace and quite this is the place to be to get away from the hustle and stresses of work. The Mill is set in valley at the bottom and is well protected from the British Weather, no wonder there is a vineyard at the location set in its own micro climate. We thoroughly enjoyed the remoteness and the food served at the Carew Arms was immense and well worth the money. Excellent. The location of the Mill is not far from and is ideal to visit Looe and Polperro and is only a 20 minute drive. Both well worth a visit. Congratulations Claire and Ian on what can only be described as a very clean and quaint property and we will be back very soon to continue our exploring of Cornwall.

  • Peace, comfort, romance.

  • Little Mill is a rare find. The accomodation is lovely (very clean and nicely decorated) and the private lake and land is spectacular. The property allows dogs . We loved taking walks in the woods and around the vineyard and lake. Swimming in the lake was my absolute favourite pastime. The lake is also beautiful after the sun has set. We often took a blanket and torch and sat on a bench by the waters edge with our wine to watch bats and glowworms. Claire and Ian are welcoming, easy going and helpful hosts. They recommended some beautiful beaches to us (Lantic, Polridmouth and Menabilly). I loved the coastal walks and be sure to take a drive to Polkerris beach for an evening meal at Sam's which serves lovely fresh fish (dogs welcome). It's been 20 years since I took a main holiday in England but I'm pleased I stumbled across this gem on Air bnb.

  • The Old Barn is in a quiet spot with beautiful countryside all around. The lodging is accurately described and the use of the music room was an unexpected delight. Martin greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

  • Great little find. High quality accommodation in a lovely rural setting. So peaceful and a good base for unspoilt coastline of this corner of Cornwall. We did coasteering at Rames Head with Adventure Bay Surf School which was a great experience. 👍

    Charlotte2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely bedroom and shower room within a beautifully renovated old barn in the small village of Crafthole, with extra space in the barn all to yourselves and where a great continental breakfast is served. Martin is a warm and welcoming host.

    Paul2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Martin was a wonderfully friendly and welcoming host, who made us feel right at home despite our late arrival time. The room (actually more like a private annexe then a room in a house, with its own side entrance through a beautiful music room) is impeccably furnished and sparkling clean, with a fabulous view - we would have loved to have stayed longer!

2 The Terrace is a charming sea front cottage, literally a stone's throw from the sea and in between two beaches, the closest being under a 1 minute walk away. The cottage has a serene atmosphere, with grand sea views and open plan living area.
The living area accommodates generous seating, including sun room, lounge and dining area with cosy corner next to log burner. The communal areas are well stocked with books, dvds and games. At the rear, there is a covered and secure area, suitable for drying washing, cleaning wetsuits and general beach gear. Washing facilities are located in the downstairs bathroom. The upstairs bathroom includes a generously sized wet-room with skylight. Bedroom 2 at the rear, hosts twin beds, black out blinds on the skylights and storage space for clothes. Bedroom 1 is spacious , with distant views of the Eddystone lighthouse. It includes a king size bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe space and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped, with plenty of utensils and crockery for the chefs among you! There is a large, slate patio at the front of the the cottage above the garden, which includes wooden exterior furniture, BBQ and large parasol. The garden is charming, with structural planting around the path to the cottage.
Portwrinkle has a far away charm, more like a meditarranean fishing village and is a popular haunt for locals visiting the beach. The proximity to the sea surrenders it to the elements and the cottage weathers it all. The beach is an ideal family spot, with rock pooling, shallow sandy waters at low tide and an old fishing harbour now more commonly used for kayaking and swimming from. There is a cafe at the other end of the village. The village of Crafthole is a short walk uphill and has a community shop and pub. The walks east and west are stunning, with lots to explore. East are the sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay and West there are coves and footpaths leading to villages of Downderry, Seaton and Looe.
  • A lovely cozy place with a superb location & view. We had everything we needed and a smooth check in / out experience for our short break. Particularly enjoyed the wood burner, and the beach and clifftop cafe both within a few steps.

    Andrew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent choice for a couple or a family. The house is set right on the shore so its out the front door and down to the rocks/dis-used small very quaint harbour and beach beyond. The location of the house is essentially towards the end of a no through road so there is very little traffic. Kids would love it here. The beach is dark sand - not sure how it would work for sandcastles but probably okay and the waves roll in with force so you'd need to bear that in mind for small children. Older children would love the rocks, but would need to be supervised as the sea rushes in between them. The house works well and Tesco delivers to the kitchen - worth bearing in mind as its steep path up from the car! Morrisons isn't far so they may deliver too, I didn't check. The lounge and dining areas are a good size and well equiped. There is an additional 'sun lounge' type seating area to the front that is amazing - you look out on the sea and have lots of light (even in January when we were there). Brilliant place for a good book or just five minutes peace. That and the benches in the garden means that there is room to spread out. There is an excellent cafe at the other end of the beach/rocks about 2-3 minutes away which is a good place for snacks / lunch. We are a couple who stayed there for three days in January and just loved it. Didn't really feel the need to go much further as the sea and changing weather was pretty compelling - it helped that we mostly had sunshine! The house was lovely and warm due to the central heating but there is also a log burner with some logs provided. There was enough bedding to be cosy - so all in all a good out of season choice. Only thing to mention is that you would need to drive to the pub unless you are massively keen to climb hills but it wasn't a problem for us and frankly its probably nicer to open a bottle of wine and stay in!

    Karen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay right by the sea. The views from the bedroom and sunroom are amazing. Can't recommend enough.

    Tom2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stay. The house is very clean, nicely decorated, we were very good despite the weather very capricious. We will definitely stay here again, but not on an All Saints holiday!

  • We had a lovely stay here with our three young children this September. The house was beautiful and in such a perfect location for a calm retreat! We had some breakfast bits provided which was perfect so we didn’t have to rush to find a shop straight away. Thank you

  • We had a fantastic week in Portwrinkle. The location was amazing, looking straight down to the sea and so peaceful at night all you could hear were the sounds of the waves! A lovely, comfortable cottage for a family of 4, would highly recommend a stay there.

This detached accommodation is at the rear of the owner's house. Visitors use the carport & walk up a sloping path with half a dozen steps to a sun terrace for their sole use. The accommodation consists of a small entrance porch, living room with a terracotta tiled floor, neatly fitted galley kitchen, casual dining area, fully tiled shower room W.C. with vanity basin and a small double bedroom. The patio with its pergola has a built in bbq & a chimenea which makes it ideal for outside eating .
Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all a short walk away and the south facing, sand and shingle beach is only a 2 minute walk. For a wider selection of amenities, Liskeard and Saltash are equidistant approximately 10 miles, both with supermarkets and leisure centres, and the city of Plymouth is a 30 minute drive. The National Trust houses of Antony, Mount Edgcumbe and Cotehele are all within a half hour drive and the cliff top golf course at Portwrinkle is a 10 minute drive. The ancient ports of Looe and Polperro are 6 and 9 miles respectively, both offering seasonal boat trips. The South West Coast Path enjoys wonderful views along Whitsand Bay to Rame Head, and there are woodland walks inland through the Seaton Valley Countryside Park. A community bus service operates within the local area.
The accommodation is in a quiet cul-de -sac with private access to the beach.

  • Good communication with Viv throughout booking process. Follow instructions Viv gives you rather than SatNav, much easier. Great welcome. Accommodation and outside areas clean and tidy. Very functional and comfortable. Kindly provided bread, butter and milk for arrival. BBQ and Chimnea good for sitting outside, great sea views from the garden. Good but testing walks nearby on the South West Coast Path. Close to main roads to get to Eden Project etc. Easy to walk down to beach, closest beach very rocky, recommend aqua shoes for getting into water.

  • A lovely quaint, peaceful place. With the beach across the road and the lovely terrace it's a must if you want to chill. A small cottage but has everything you need including sun loungers. The nice touch was arriving and finding bread, milk, tea, coffee and sugar to get you started. Vivien was on hand if needed but left us to enjoy the tranquil setting. Highly recommend this place and hope to return next year.

A picturesque quaint little 1 bedroom cottage tucked away in a small hamlet, perched alongside a stream, in the middle of beautiful countryside but a stones throw away from the market town of Saltash and Plymouth further afield. Enjoy a drink in the enclosed courtyard, whilst the stream runs beneath you, or have dinner in the private conservatory dining room, followed by a bath in the roll top bath. Free wifi and a 42" LED Smart TV. The bedroom is located up a short set of steep stairs.
We love dogs and welcome well behaved ones :-) The cottage is not overlooked at all, and we live nearby so can point you in the direction of the pub or lend you some toothpaste if you've forgotten it. You're welcome to walks up to the stables and beyond and stroke the horses and Alpacas in the fields. Or just sit up there and enjoy a coffee taking in the glorious views.
The cottage is tucked away down a quiet little lane, with a great pub within walking distance - there's a Macdonalds, Costa and Lidl around 1.2 miles away. Use us a base for exploring Cornwall... there are some beautiful beaches a very short drive away, and some fabulous walks locally.

  • Our night away in Bluebell Cottage was a very generous gift from wonderful friends, and I don't think it could have been better! A warm welcome from Deborah awaited us, and after a few minutes of housekeeping we were left to explore!! Cosy and modern, the kitchen is well equipped with ample supplies of tea, coffee and milk; croissants and bacon provided for breakfast, along with eggs freshly laid that morning from the resident hens! The bathroom is surprisingly large, with a lovely roll-top bath, and we made use of the electric log burner, which quickly took the chill of a damp January evening!! The bed was extremely comfortable with a great night's sleep had by both of us, to the point it was a struggle to get up and out by check-out time! If you're over 6ft then you will need to be careful not to hit your head, but it's a small price to pay for such character and beauty. The alpacas are at the top of the hill behind the property, along with a goat - they aren't going to be your best friends, but it was still amusing to watch their faces as they sized you up!! We didn't meet the hens and horses as it was really muddy, but during a drier time, it's a must!! Such a lovely place so close to yet so far from the big city, would definitely recommend.

    Tracey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quaint cottage, Deborah was very contactable and added some nice touches to make us feel at home. Would recommend.

We were in Cornwall for a wedding so we’re pretty hectic from the minute we arrived but they made the space cosy so we could relax straight away! It was like staying with relatives. Instantly feeling at home.

There was a lot of ease in arranging a last minute stay and adding my partner at short notice. Lovely open hearted people who genuinely enjoy having guests. A cost space but great value for money and very close to beautiful beaches and coastline. Thank you for having me.
