Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.
  • Harbour Lights will knock your socks off if you are after a relaxing break with great views and facilities

  • This is a special place, in particular for a 'couples getaway'. We went as a family (two teenage girls) and though a squeeze in the spare room for the girls we all found it a great place to spend a week exploring the local walks, beaches and food. Notwithstanding our stay included a visit from 'Storm Dennis' it was a fantastic week and we enjoyed watching the weather coming into the bay.

  • Really lovely place in a great location with lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Charlotte was a great host who was available to help with anything required. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks! X

  • What a nice place harbour lights is. Location is perfect with amazing views & the accommodation is brilliant.

  • This really is a ‘gem’ — absolutely stunning property with luxury finish, in a truly superb location! Walking distance to local beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and everything you will need. We never used our car at all during our stay, and wakening up to the sea views every morning...just ‘wow’!!

  • Great

    Robert2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Well where do I start!! The property it’s self is nothing short of amazing. Charlotte kindly accommodated an early check in which was much appreciated. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay with lovely complimentary doggie bags. The views from the hot tub are to die for and there was nothing better than relaxing in the bath looking out at the ocean at the end of the day. The scones and the bubbly definitely made it that little bit more special if that’s even possible! Charlestown is beautiful and the recommendations from the welcome pack where much appreciated. Longstore was a special place for a very nice steak. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be able to stay again soon.

    Toni2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte and Joey’s place is a gem! A wonderful location with spectacular views and easy access to quaint Charlestown. Charlotte went above and beyond by getting us a travel crib for our 20 month old. I will miss the relaxing nights of hearing the ocean from the master bedroom and relaxing in the hot tub. Charlotte even had scones, Cornish cream, milk and bubbly awaiting ya upon our arrival! A class act. Not to mention the place was spotless and had everything you needed and more. The closest Tesco is about a mile away so make sure you get essentials before getting there. Charlotte had general hand soap and shower gel but if you need laundry detergent and shampoo you’ll want to bring it for your stay.

  • Beautiful old cottage with private entrance, a little way out of town, but only 20 minutes to walk there, either by the beach, or main road. There was a local bus that did pick ups and drop offs. Lots of fabulous walks all around. Would love to return!

  • We were welcomed with smiles and hot coffee and brownies on arrival by our hosts who couldn't of been more welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was perfect, warm and spotless. More than enough room for our party. The whole site was a real pleasure from the games barn and the wood fired hot tub to feeding the pigs and collecting eggs from the friendly hens. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay, the location was perfect and everything we wanted was close by. The only problem was our stay wasn't for long enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks again. Xx

This delightful, airy cabin, is the perfect place to relax. Located in the hamlet of Milltown, near Lostwithiel, you are a short walk away from beautiful woodland and the picturesque Fowey River and ten minutes, by car, from the beach.
Nestled into a wooded hillside, our cabin is set far enough away from the house to give you peace and privacy. It is light and airy in summer and cosy in the winter, with storage heating and an electric blanket. There is also a heated towel rail and plenty of hot water in the en-suite shower room. The main room has a double bed, a large cupboard, an arm chair, bed side tables and enough floor space to put up a travel cot or a child's blow up bed. Although there is not a kitchen, there is a cupboard with basic crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, a fridge, a microwave, tea and coffee making faciliites and a toaster. Bread, croissants, a selection of cereals, milk, juice, honey, jam and marmite will left in the cabin for you to make your own breakfasts if you are staying for one or two nights. If you are staying for longer then it will be up to you stock up on supplies!
Milltown is a pretty hamlet close to the ancient Milltown Woods and the Fowey River and The Saint's Way goes directly past the gate! Lostwithiel is a twenty minute walk across fields or a five minute drive and it has a good selection of shops including a deli, a butchers, a bakers, a chemist, a Co-op and several good antique and gift shops. The picturesque town of Fowey is just over four miles away with it's numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops and stunning views of the estuary and out to sea. There are many local beaches, to suit all tastes, and the Eden project all within a 20 minute drive.
  • Lovely cabin, the perfect getaway where you totally escape reality. Walk welcome, it was nice to have milk, cereal and toast on arrival. The woods which the cabin is set in is truest magical. We will definitely be back again

    Tracey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Clare's cabin with the idea of fostering a love of the woods in my children. I have not been disappointed, they both came away absolutely in love with the woods, the streams and rivers and all that the area had to offer. The cabin is neat, spacious, well presented with everything one could need. We will be back!

    Lindsay2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded spot, we had a lovely stay in cabin and had everything that we required. We were there when weather was not so great but still had a good time. Picturesque surroundings, nice and peaceful.

    Andy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy little cabin set in the most beautiful wooded area. We woke to birdsong in the morning and watched the stars at night. A perfect weekend getaway, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much.

  • Great quiet chalet for two. Great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely and cosy. I’ll be back👍

    Graham2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin, great location, peaceful and secluded. Good location for the eden project, beach, estuary... Lots of books and games for relaxing evenings. The heater could do with updating as it doesn't quite manage with cold winter nights, but this is the only minor criticism of a really nice, great value cabin, we'll definitely book again.

    Jamie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful retreat tucked away in the cornish countryside. All the home comforts you'd possibly need for a short stay. Very clean, warm and comfortable furnishings. Look forward to returning one day 😊

Everything is within reach inside this charming shepherds hut with french doors, knotty wood floors, and an arched ceiling. A wood-burning stove adds warmth to an enchanting interior, while a deck patio offers choice views of the Cornish countryside.
Lowenna means tranquility in Cornish and that's what staying here is all about. She is fully kitted out for a comfortable stay with a neat little bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, an outside barbeque area and the snuggiest of beds! If you want a real "glamping" experience without the inconvenience of outside bathrooms and shared showers then this is for you! Families with adventurous children who are happy to sleep in a tent are welcome to pitch their tent next to Lowenna in the garden. If you would like to consider this then let me know. Dogs are very welcome so long as their owners are well behaved! I have a very gentle and sweet natured Springer Spaniel and an old cat who copes well with dogs! There is even a dog bed especially for visiting pooches! I also have a luxury double room (see my other listing) and a twin bedded room in the main house if you want to come with friends or make up a group booking.
St Veep is a little hamlet situated about a mile above the riverside village of Lerryn. The nearby town of Lostwithiel has a supermarket, restaurants, antique shops, and little boutiques. The ancient harbour town of Fowey just across the estuary, has top class restaurants. Here you can sit and watch the colourful sailing boats whilst enjoying the famous Fowey river mussels!
  • Place clean and nice, hosts very nice

    Mateusz2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cute place, warm, welcoming, clean and tidy. Everything you need is provided. Host are the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever stayed with. Before arriving late on a Saturday evening I had a phone call from hosts suggesting the weather her end maybe to bad for us to travel, this phone call alone made me feel very safe and trustworthy of the host. And she has done everything she can to make our stay enjoyable dispite the bad weather. Very highly recommended!

    Thomas2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic for a cosy romantic retreat in great countryside. Compact and well-designed, great taste in furnishings. Enjoyed a bbbq and firepit in the outside sheltered pergola, even though it was raining outside

    Neil2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful secluded spot if you don’t mind driving and exploring. Monica was very friendly and the hut was spotless.

Constructed of earth and granite, part of a small complex of old farm buildings, with just this one as accommodation, in a tiny hamlet along an unspoilt farm track alongside an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On a bridle path joining the National Cycle Route close to beaches and the Coastal Footpath. Mountain bikes with helmets available for your use. Digital projector with HDTV, Netflix and Sky Sports for your entertainment. Organic veg from our kitchen garden. Huge farmhouse kitchen opening onto cobbled courtyard. Living room/home cinema with balcony and steps leading down to a garden. Local Delabole slate ground floors with cosy underfloor heating and walk-in wet room from bedroom. The barn has been painstakingly restored using traditional building materials and has a large, craftsman built kitchen with 5 gas burner/electric oven range cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster, kettle and quality utensils plus Sabatier knife set. Everything from quick snacks to gourmet meals served at the massive farmhouse table. The barn is supplied with its own water source, filtered and UV treated, for the perfect cup of tea. The bedroom has adjoining wet room with WC and basin. The whole barn is connected to Wi-Fi and the eating area has a Mac computer with internet and TV. All linen and towels provided. Property is cleaned and linen and towels renewed at changeover or weekly. Although the barn is surrounded by countryside, it is only a few minutes' drive from the town, which is served by banks, post office, supermarkets and a mainline rail station. 4G mobile coverage with most providers. Mid Cornwall is perfect for accessing all of the county's many attractions - from the rugged north coast to the far west, from the wilds of Bodmin Moor to the delights of the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens. Settings for the Rosamunde Pilcher stories within easy reach. Transport to and from St Austell railway station can be arranged if you wish to come by train. Narrow stairs from kitchen to living area and bedroom may be unsuitable for anyone with impaired mobility. Access to the property is via a farm lane/bridle path which is not suitable for very low slung vehicles such as sports cars and can get muddy in the winter. Standard family cars are fine. Sorry but we do not allow pets. We bought the disused and dilapidated barns near to the house in 1995 and have spent the intervening years repairing and restoring them with the skilled assistance of Allan and Richard, the carpenters, Les, the cob specialist and Pete, our nephew. Along with the barns came a small field, where we now have our kitchen garden and where the chickens are fenced among the trees in a copse. The cob barn restoration was completed in the summer of 2012 after many years of hard work. It has been a labour of love, with much attention paid to detail as our long-term aim is to live there ourselves. Cob is a mixture of clay subsoil and straw that is wetted and trampled, originally by cattle but nowadays by digger, to get the right consistency. It is laid on a base of stone, heeled in and each layer left to dry before being adzed smooth and coated in lime plaster to allow it to breath. Cob buildings can last for centuries if they have "a good hat and a good pair of boots". The thick cob walls keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
  • Such an amazing little getaway! 100% will be staying in the future! The kitchen is an amazing place to cook and eat a roast with all amenities you could want. You also pretty much have your own private cinema! Cannot fault this place at all. Amazing job on the restoration!

  • We couldn’t of enjoyed our stay more, Sinead sent really helpful advice before we arrive. The cottage was perfect and in a great location in Fowey, we’d definitely go back!

  • Dangerously (for your belly) located opposite a very tasty bakers 😂😂 Lovely cottage, just right for our four day stay with a child. Car parking could be an issue for some, but worked great for us. We parked about 6pm after a day out and then paid via an app to park til 11am (£2.70) Really lovely village and great independent shops. We made use of the free access to the pool at Fowey Hotel and their afternoon tea! Jacuzzi in the bath at the cottage made for a fun bathtime after a wet day at the beach followed by puddle jumping! Sinead has no control of the weather, but we didn’t let it dampen our fun stay. Many thanks Sharon, Alan and Ethan x

  • Second time back and this place is perfect! Great location, and everything you need in a little space of your own in the centre of Fowey! Check-in was super easy as was check-out, no stress involved at all. The private alleyway the cottage is set back on is so quiet and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the town. So many lovely places to eat and drink, our absolute favourite is Sam’s, it never fails to impress! Cannot wait to come back soon.

  • The location of this cottage is absolutely unbelievable, right in the centre of Fowey- wonderful !

  • A really gorgeous little cottage in the heart of Fowey. It has everything you need and more. It is cosy, clean and comfortable. Fowey is a great place to visit: we didn’t feel the need to leave during our stay. There are nice pubs, restaurants, bakeries, cafes, beaches and little shops. The bakery at the end of the road makes a great selection of yummy treats which changes each time you visit.

  • A wonderful and historic cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable and quiet stay in the heart of Fowey with our family and little dog. Great bathroom, WiFi/TV/games, access to Fowey Hall pool and underfloor heating in particular! Thoughtful touches from Sinead on arrival - can thoroughly recommend. Clare

  • Absolutely amazing central location. Free entry to the swimming pool at the hotel is a lovely addition. The jacuzzi bath is great too. We had a comfortable stay with two kids but did bring our own rug for the kitchen floor (as had a baby crawler with us). Overall our stay was great but I would say some furniture needs updating and greater attention to detail as cottage has potential to be even cosier.

Small double bedroom with adjacent private bathroom in a modern and professional home. The bedroom itself is relatively small however perfectly suitable for one person. South facing and decorated in neutral colours the room has an airy feel to it, you’ll find a small double (4ft / 1.2m wide) bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress, single mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, a side table and one bedside cabinet.
The room is laid out with the bed against the wall so as to allow more space for moving around. If this is not an issue you may find that it is suitable for two people. Other items in the room include; Touch lamp on bed side cabinet, television with Freeview, hairdryer, iron & ironing Board, oversized king-sized light weight duvet and four pillows. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is used only by this room, it has a toilet, basin and bath with shower over, also in the bath room you will find the following; Bath towel, hand towel, flannel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner & toilet roll. It may be possible for you to use the washing machine but please confirm this first and bear in mind there is only an outside washing line for drying so you’ll need to time the weather right! It is a modern semi-detached three-bedroom house positioned at the end of the close and subsequently has a calm and relaxing feel to it, the house is clean, tidy and well-presented and I am very lucky to have lovely neighbours. I live here with my three cats, Josie, Tilly & Teddy who are naturally convinced that they are in charge and subsequently roam freely (please keep your doors closed if you don't want to have guests of your own). There is a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals – just be sure to load the dishwasher and try to be finished by ten so that I can get my beauty sleep! Opposite the house is a dedicated private and off-road drive for you to park a car. The back garden is split over two levels, please feel free to make use of the top level where you’ll find a selection of garden furniture available on the lawn. Please feel free to use the sitting room during the working week days, I do reserve this to myself for the evening and weekends though. House requests Other than respecting the non-smoking policy please just be mindful of the time and noise levels within the house after 10pm If you wish to stay up chatting after this then the conservatory off the kitchen is a great relaxed place for this.
The house is built on a recent housing development in Par, Par is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south Cornish coast set between Charlestown and Fowey.
  • Matthew was a fabulous host and the accommodation itself is great — exactly as it is described. A great room for both short and long term stays being close to many attractions. Having the shops in Par and the beach within walking distance is handy. You’d be hard pressed to find a more helpful, friendly, and welcoming host than Matthew.

Ideal for undisturbed relaxation, in a huge garden in the centre of Tywardreath, 2 minutes from village shop, fish and chip shop, church and pub, 3 minutes from the local bus stop, and within walking distance of Par railway station, the beach and the coastal path. It is located in an Area of Outstanding natural Beauty. The Kitchen area has kettle, toaster microwave, cafetiere, crockery and cutlery. tea coffee and biscuits. Guests have access to the outhouse - en route to the Chalet - which houses a large fridge-freezer - where organic milk, bread, butter orange juice jam/marmalade and ground coffee are provided free.
Tywardreath is a very old village with lots of history, its name, translated from the Cornish, means 'house on the strand' - the title of one of Daphne du Maurier's novels. I could bore you with lots more on this subject :-). The village is a short distance uphill from the National Coast Path, the nearest beach (Par beach) - is very wide and has a large (paying) car park, dunes, a cafe, a pub at the entrance (The Ship), good, fine sand; gently sloping to the sea - so safe for young children. The water is very clean. The views are exceptional. Par has a post office, several pubs and shops, a small Co-op supermarket, library, bike hire and railway station - 15 minutes walk from the house. The Eden Project is 20 minutes by car.
  • This venue gave us very local access for so many attractions, especially the Eden Centre, Fowey, Polperro and Looe. Clive made our trip really easy, we felt very welcome and at home; he gave us countless tips and ideas about what to do locally and loaned us a very useful map outlining the shortcuts to places. The cabin was very cosy, despite the foul weather outside and Clive tried really hard to accommodate our use of wifi and various other needs. The washing up fairy meant that we could come home to all of that done and the use of the fridge was very helpful. For this and all the other very thoughtful touches, we were most grateful. Lovely place to stay for a short break.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here, the chalet had everything we needed, in a peaceful setting and it was nice not to have a TV or any WiFi and switch off properly. The breakfast was delicious and thanks for our apples too! The chalet provided a great base to get to the beach, Fowey as well as walking distance to a great pub! Thanks Clive and Catherine for being such great hosts!

  • We would strongly recommend Clive's chalet. It's conveniently placed for those visiting the Eden Project, and it's only a few minutes walk from Par station, so if you're visiting Cornwall without a car, it's ideal. The chalet was exactly as described, and breakfast was delicious. Clive was an excellent host. He responded quickly to texts and gave us some tips for the local area.

Fowey (pronounced Foy) is one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Set on the steep banks on the Fowey Estuuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore. Views of the harbour are dramatic just watching the activities in the harbour can keep you occupied for many hours! Life in Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. There are some great restaurants and pubs around and nearby. Try one of Sam's restaurants or a little drive inland to the historic Crown Inn at Lanlivery is well worth the effort.Life on the water culminates in the middle of August with the Fowey Regatta Week where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Famouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many festivities around the town. The highlight is without doubt the spectacular display by the Red Arrows who rate Fowey as one of their most dramatic displays because of the steep valley. • We really enjoyed our stay at Cobb’s wells. This property had everything we needed for our stay. We took our German shepherd dog with us and this property was big enough for her to run around and had a secure garden for her. This property slept 5 people and was nice and warm. Little touches made us feel very welcome and helped us during our stay. These included, milk & biscuits for our arrival. Dish washer tables and washing liquid were provided. The car parking space provided is also a huge plus in Fowey. Thanks for a great stay and we would highly recommend.

The Old Carriage Works is a split level apartment in the magnificent grade 2 listed building originally designed by Brunel. It nestles alongside the upper tidal reaches of the Fowey River which flows past the property. The apartment itself has retained many character features including high ceilings and granite walls while maintaining an air of modern luxury.
The Old Carriage Works is part of a railway building originally constructed in the 1860s and designed by Brunel himself, the exposed stonewalling, high arched windows and industrial timber beams add to the timeless grace of the renovation. However inside all modern conveniences are catered for with a superbly well equipped kitchen and tasteful decor and furnishings through out.On one side of the Old Carriage Works the Fowey river trickles through the shallows and ducks paddle calmly through the dappled water, on the other side is the railway line and Lostwithiel Station. The station provides an opportunity to visit some of Cornwall's key towns (including Penzance, St Ives, Falmouth and many others) without the need to take your car. You can also travel direct to Lostwithiel from London. As a stannary town Lostwithiel is one of Cornwall's hidden gems with a wonderful atmosphere but also close to the Eden Project and the stunning south coast towns of Fowey, Looe and Polperro.AccommodationSituated on the first and second floors of the building the apartment is on split levelsLower Level: Enter into hallway with doors leading to: Kitchen with fully fitted units. For those wishing to visit the delights of places such as The Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey, this is the area for you, located on the Eastern side of St Austell. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan towards Mevagissey, and Lanhydrock National Trust House & Gardens a short drive inland it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple drive to the coast past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall's hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centering around St Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey Rover meandering through the centre of the town. St Austell was once the major producer of the world's China Clay; now with cheaper foreign imports, the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The Eden Project hosts many bands throughout the season as well as featuring an Ice Rink out of season.Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30, is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty, reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

Castle Dore Barn is a prefect retreat for relaxing in the Cornish countryside. With breath-taking views of the rolling countryside populated with wildlife. The barn is centrally located to enjoy many of Cornwall's attractions with beautiful scenic walks and cycling trails. Lovely beaches are only a couple of miles away. Castle Dore Barn is in a quiet rural location with beautiful views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • Just fantastic in every way. Beautiful barn in an amazing location. Perfectly peaceful. We'll definitely be back.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Castledore Barn. Four nights wasn't enough! The views are great and the barn itself is beautifully furnished and very clean. Comfy beds, lovely shower, great kitchen! Cream Tea on arrival as well as freshly laid eggs. Colin gave us a tour of the farm on our last day and our little one rode the tractor which was fab. Despite the wind and rain we had throughout our stay, we had a lovely time. I'm sure we'll be back! Thank you!

    Lauren2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Amanda and Colin’s barn. The place is a little piece of heaven. The Barn itself is beautifully laid out and decorated. The views are stunning and the morning sunrise is breathtaking. We had fun playing tennis and the kids toys were very handy. Amanda and Colin really are “Super Hosts”. The welcoming touches on arrival made us feel at home straight away. Scones, wine, biscuits, fresh flowers and of course the sausages and bacon. Wow! We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to experience the beauty and tranquility of Cornwall. We loved every minute of our stay.

    James2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we hoped for and more... Nothing is too much trouble and the location is stunning... we were torn between visiting Cornwall’s sites or staying in the beautiful barn all day.... Definately worth a visit and I’m sure that will lead to return visits as it has us.. Roll on next year.....

    Bill2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a stunning barn! Amanda was so welcoming making sure we had a cot and high chair so we didn’t have to lug extra things in the car. The cream teas and fresh coffee on arrival was second to none. It’s a lovely beautiful living space with spacious bedrooms. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!

    Hannah2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely location!! Amanda & Colin were brilliant, complimentary cream teas and amazing accommodation! Before I had even left I had already recommended friends to take a visit! Cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you Amanda & Colin.

  • 10/10 Just come back from a wonderful week away in Cornwall. It was sad to say goodbye to the lovely barn and its stunning views. We had everything we needed and more, thanks to the cream tea on arrival, which was very much appreciated. Amanda and Colin were great - the cot and high chair provided for our four month old saved us some space in our three door car! The location was great for us, as we wanted to explore the local area, but also go a bit further out to Falmouth and St Ives, which were both only an hour away. The barn is very well insulated and very peaceful, the next time we visit Cornwall we will be back.

Anne-Marie and Steve offer a warm welcome to Polbrean Studio, a cosy, well equipped, self catering studio which boasts stunning views of the River Fowey in the tranquil village of Golant. Our Studio comprises of a large open plan room with a pull down king size bed, kitchen area and shower room. There is a mezzanine with an additional double bed accessed by a set of paddle stairs. Outside is a seating area where you can sit and enjoy the stunning surroundings and views.
Golant is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the perfect base to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Our Studio is located on the Saints Way, so is ideal for those who wish to trek the many beautiful walks on our doorstep. Encounter Cornwall, based in Golant, provide Kayak Trips which cater for all abilities and take in the scenery and wildlife which inspired the novel, Wind in the Willows. The local pub, the Fishermans Arms, is a short stroll from the Studio and they provide local Real ales and excellent quality pub food, all served with a friendly smile. Golant is 10 minutes drive from Fowey, which hosts a packed calendar of events all year round, the most notable being the Fowey Festival of Music and Words (formally du Maurier Festival) in May, Regatta week and Carnival in August, and the Xmas Market early December. The picturesque fishing towns of Charlestown, Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro are on our doorstep with the cathedral city of Truro only an hour's drive away. Attractions, such as, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Llanhydrock House are also close by.
Golant sits on the banks of the River Fowey and is a very friendly village. We have a great pub, which is open all day from May to October, and then lunch and evening off season, Cafe Kayak is open through peak season and offers delicious homemade cakes and refreshments and our 13th century church, St Sampsons, is amazing and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, Golant no longer has a local shop, supplies may be found in Par, Fowey or St Austell, full details will be provided in our visitors book.
  • Lovely location, clean and well equipped accommodation despite size. Travelled as a couple, more than enough space for two. Host was welcoming and attentive. Parking on site with lovely views and good food in local pub. Would definitely recommend.

    Bryn2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice studio room with a great view. Not far from Fowey, which was good for eating places.

  • Lovely place to stay, beautiful location and the place itself was so clean and tidy with everything you needed for a long weekend away. Only thing to be aware of is it's a very narrow lane to get to the place so if you have a big car you may need to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up! Will be back again soon I'm sure!

    ellen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I visited for a walking holiday and had the loveliest stay at Polbrean studio. Anne Marie and Steve were very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The space was just perfect for a quiet few days away, and it had absolutely everything we could have needed, including a couple of nice surprises when we arrived (milk, eggs etc). The views from the breakfast bar and little outdoor seating area were just stunning, too, and the locals were incredibly friendly in the village. We both slept like logs and really enjoyed being in such a peaceful spot. We'd love to come back, it was well worth the visit. Thank you for having us x

The Crow's Nest offers a stylish and cosy self catering flat with double bed, en suite, fully equipped kitchen and views of the surrounding countryside both inland and towards the coast. This third floor apartment, although part of the hosts home, is completely private and just a short walk from Par Sands. It's finished to a high standard and offers excellent levels of comfort. Susie and Joe are friendly, approachable and happy to assist with local recommendations. Well situated for walkers.
1 bedroom with double bed, toilet with shower and fully equipped kitchen. We are well situated, just a 5 minute walk from Par station and on several bus routes. Only a 3 mile drive away or 50 minute walk is the Eden Project. Beautiful Fowey Harbour is just a ten minute drive or you can enjoy the sea views on the short bus ride. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also close by. There are several pubs within walking distance and the Coast path and Clay trail meanders past the house so great for walkers. We also have Carlyon golf course on the doorstep. There are local amenities such as a Co-op store and Spar open 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week. A Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop are also within walking distance. The Crow's Nest makes an ideal base for exploring our stunningly beautiful coastline, small towns and villages.
Just a ten minute drive from Fowey and the Eden project. There are Coffee shops, pubs, a Chinese takeaway and a fish n chip shop plus the beach all within easy walking distance. The coastal path being just twenty yards away and the train station a ten minute walk means we're a convenient place to stay for those on a walking holiday. If you enjoy walking there's a lovely coastal walk to Polkerris with a welcoming pub at the end the Rashleigh Arms Dame Daphne du Maurier (Lady Browning), was an English author and playwright who made this coastline her Cornish home. Just a little further along the coastal path towards Fowey you will walk past a lovely cottage with a lake where she once lived. I'd like to think it was the beach house she spoke of in her novel Rebecca. Another of her books 'House on the Strand' was based in the village of Tywardreath and surrounding area. Why not explore inland and walk one of the many mapped routes, one of our favourite walks is the stunning Luxulyan valley, a twenty minute drive away. Many National Trust houses such as Lanhydrock are also close by however, If you're looking for a more adventurous way to explore from a different view point then we highly recommend one of the stand up paddle (SUP) experiences. You can book lessons, social sups or tasters e.mail: paddlecornwallsup or we can give you details on arrival, it's a great way to explore the river Fowey and it's wildlife. Ask for contact details on booking. If you're a Poldark fan then you can't go home without visiting Charlestown where much of the filming was done. It's a walk back in time and the home to several pubs who serve excellent food and a harbour where you'll see several square rigged ships that are used for filming and training. It's amazing to see them out at sea under full sail and a real treat to watch them negotiate the return to their birth in the harbour
  • The room was amazing! Room and services were very comfortable and the provisions were excellent. Would definitely stay again 10/10

  • My wife and I have tried a few Airbnb places. This is the best so far. It’s warm, cozy, spotlessly clean and it’s been tastefully decorated in pleasing colours. The hosts Susie and Joe are very nice. They left us bread, milk, butter, cereals, coffee, biscuits, etc to get us started! There’s lashings of hot water, the heating is on 24/7. All the accoutrements you need to be self catering are provided. The place is a delight.

    Paul2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susie and her husband were wonderful hosts. The Airbnb was fabulous and there were so many homely and personal touches. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of cereals and breakfast treats including home made preserves to go with the bread and croissants . A really cosy and friendly place to spend a few days in the wonderful cornish countryside.

  • I booked a one-night stay for my daughter who was working in the area. She was very pleased with the friendliness of Carole and the accommodation itself. It proved to be a very convenient location for her work in the St Austell area and she may well stay here again if working in this area.

  • Carol was a very welcoming host with a beautiful home. We were very comfortable here after a long day of walking in the rain! Definitely recommend.

    Louisa2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s airbnb is a beautiful space to come back to after a day out exploring. And it was so comfy that sleeping in longer than usual happened once or twice. The bathroom was very large and in pristine condition and all the quaint little touches in the decor definitely made it feel like a holiday cottage. Also, during check-in, Carol was very helpful and ensured I knew where everything was, that everything was working and that I had some ideas about what to do while there. I would definitely come back again.

    Teagan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Carol’s place, it was perfectly located for a wedding we were attending nearby. We chose to stay for an extra day to explore the local area and Carol was very helpful indeed with some recommendations and directions. The room has its own access through a side gate and patio doors so it feels like your own place, even though it is attached to the house. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful view over the garden and hillside, the large stylish bathroom and very comfortable bed. It was lovely to have some breakfast essentials provided, including some yummy homemade marmalade!

    Kimberley2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's accommodation was so beautifully clean, stylish and well thought out with great facilities including various places to sit and enjoy the view. We felt very comfortable coming and going as the unit is self contained with its own side entrance. Carol went the extra mile by providing a supply of milk and cereals throughout the week and she shared great local knowledge with us. We enjoyed the location for being walking distance from shops and cafes etc, a great starting point for coastal walks, and not far from great days out around cornwall. I'd definitely recommend this accommodation!

Nestled between St Austell and Carlyon Bay, Charlestown is a picturesque, historic fishing port on the South East coast of Cornwall.Having largely resisted the modernisation and commercialisation of some other popular destinations, Charlestown has held onto it's unique, quintessential Cornish charm. For this reason, it has been a popular backdrop to a number of film and television projects, including Poldark, Dr Who and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Steeped in history, no visit would be complete without a trip to the Charlestown shipwreck and Heritage centre, which exhibits a fascinating array of artefacts, stories and information about the village and it's maritime history. Aside from the museum, Charlestown also has a couple of art galleries, a harbourside pub boasting excellent views, a small sandy beach and a number of small shops to browse your way through.Once a year the village holds its annual Regatta: a week long event featuring watersports, games, sports competitions and a carnival, all to raise money for the village. With plenty to while away a very pleasant day, Charlestown is well worth a visit.

  • A great house in a great location! We appreciated having a dog-friendly house in this great location. We loved being able to walk down to the Charlestown beach each morning and evening, be within 5-10 minutes drive of beaches at Porthpean, Carlyon, and Par, and so close to grocery stores (Tesco, ASDA, and Lidl) for supplies for self-catering. The house was lovely and warm, stylish, and exactly what we were looking for. Would love to come back at some point.

  • Westaway Cottage is a lovely property. Beautifully renovated, clean, cosy, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. The space worked really well for a mixed family group of six adults. We would love to come again in the warmer months, to take advantage of the south-facing garden!

Penstrassoe 3 Within walking distance to Charlestown and easy access to the Eden Project, Heligan Gardens and many beautiful Cornish beaches, this room will provide you with a comfortable base to explore the wonders of Cornwall.
A double room with TV, Amazon Firestick, tea & coffee making facilities, newly refurbished family bathroom.
Locally there is an excellent provision of food choices within walking distance. We are also perfectly positioned to explore the entire County. Previous guests have visited The Historic Port of Charlestown (Poldark has been filmed here), Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Within an hour you can be walking on Bodmin Moor or swimming in the blue waters of Porth Curnow. Beaches are plentiful! The most local is Carlyon Bay with others such as Porthpean, Pentewan, Caerhays and Polkerris a short drive away. If you fancy exploring more widely head for the Roseland Peninsula and look for Carne, Pendower and Caerhayes. The North Coast is more rugged and a fantastic spot to watch the sun set. Personally I love, Newquay, Crantock, Holywell Bay, Polzeath, Harlin Bay & Perranporth. St Austell town centre is a short stroll left out of the house and up the hill. It has a variety of independent and high street stores and is definitely worth a potter if you have time. Truro is larger and the Cathedral City of Cornwall. There are many shops, restaurants, cafes in the city as well as the Museum for Cornwall and of course the stunning Cathedral! If you like walking I thoroughly recommend ‘IWALK Cornwall’ which is a free app and has loads of fantastic circular walks for every taste, covering the whole of Cornwall. A walk costs £1.99 to download and uses GPS to guide you every step of the way. Eating and Drinking Costa – great for a coffee and snack breakfast – turn right out of the house and cross at the double roundabout. Follow the road towards Mevagissey and you will find Costa in the complex on your right. You can’t miss McDonalds and KFC which are also in that area! Frankie and Bennie’s, Wetherspoons & Prezzo are in the White River Place, turn left out of the house, 2 mins walk up the hill along with a host of independents including Smorgers, Nepalese Gurkha Restaurant, Watermargin Chinese Restaurant, Walkers Fish & Chips If you fancy something different head for Charlestown to eat or drink. There is a plethora of bars, restaurants and coffee shops, some of which are listed below. All have a pleasant atmosphere & serve high quality food but please make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment*: The Longstore* - Charlies Boathouse* - The Pier House Hotel* - Rashleigh Inn * - The Harbourside - Charlies Coffee Shop – Pentewan is 10 min drive and offers, Simply Judes Brasserie and The Kingswood Restaurant can be found 5 minutes away in London Apprentice A more complete guide can be found: https://www.eatoutcornwall.com/restaurants/st-austell/
  • Jer’s place was spotlessly clean and good value for money, he was a very friendly host and asked multiple times if everything was ok and if there was anything else he could do to make my stay better. Would definitely recommend Pentrassoe if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful place close to St Austell town centre.

Modern house with a lovely garden in a quiet estate. Less than a 5 minute walk to the train/bus station, which has direct links to the Eden Project, London and the North. The town centre is also less than a 5 minute walk away. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, gas hob, kettle, toaster, washing machine, dryer, etc. A bright, spacious lounge opens onto the garden through double doors. The driveway has room for two cars and parking is also available on the road.
The house will have new furniture to what is shown in the photos. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks, fishing rods, bbq, and whatever other fun things you can find in the garage. Please be respectful of neighbours; the estate is primarily occupied by young families who have to wake up early for jobs and school runs.
Most people who come to St Austell come for the things it's close to: beautiful beaches, amazing gardens and of course, the Eden Project. Don't get me wrong, these are all very good reasons to visit! But there are two little gems I'd like to give a mention that are within walking distance of the house. The first is the mining museum of Wheal Martyn. St Austell was a clay mining town after all, and the museum does a fantastic job of taking you through the history of the clay mining industry and how everything worked. With a wealth of indoor displays and a beautiful outside area to explore, there are a number of ways to enjoy your visit there. The second is Menacuddle Well, which is a magical little place that is free to visit. It lies just outside of town, where the St Austell river flows through the valley. It's not a tourist destination, there are no toilets or cafes, just a few very old man-made structures (including a small waterfall) in a woodland clearing that was recently unearthed and is now maintained. Unfortunately it is right next to a busy road, but once you're down at the water's edge you can hardly hear it, and the whole place is very peaceful and calming. I'll be more than happy to provide maps for walking or driving to each of these places, as well as some tips to stay off of the roads as much as possible if walking.

Please be aware that the cottage is two hundred years old and has low door frames, arches and steep stairs with small steps. Also the steps to the decking at the rear are steep and not child friendly.
This is a 200 year old renovated cottage close to the town centre, with an outdoor patio giving you views over the River Fowey. Right next to Caffa Mill car park, which takes you over to Bodinnick for the Hall Walk or onto Looe and Polperro.
Fowey is an ancient town but is also a working port. It's colourful history involves pirates and French invasions and it remains a vibrant town today. We are lucky to have many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants which make the town centre, a few minutes walk away, a lovely place to spend time, as well as a Town Quay as a central space.
  • Lovely cottage, located just a few minutes away from the centre of town. We used it as a base for hiking around the area, but bad weather meant we spent a fair duration inside. It felt really homely.

  • Great location and lovely property! The house is great, with all the amenities needed. Check in was easy and the lack of parking isn’t too much of an issue as there is a car park a two minute walk from the house. Fowye is beautiful! The town has a lovely range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. There are also lovely coastal walks that you can start from the front door.

  • Beautiful cottage with a really well equipped kitchen. Perfect distance from the town. Beautiful view. Well recommended.

  • Lovely location for this old terraced cottage on the edge of town. Sinead's place is really clean and well furnished and despite not having private parking, is just a couple of steps from a car park. Had a really enjoyable stay, exploring Fowey and the surrounding area.

  • Great location and lovely cottage for four people.

  • Caffa Mill cottage is a very comfortable place to stay. Very good spacious kitchen. Bedroom good size. Heating good. Large bathroom. It is exactly like the photos. Great location near a carpark and you do not have to drive through Fowey. Sinead is also a good communicator. Would stay again.

  • Don't hesitate for a minute, book this Cottage. It's so lovely and homely and the location is spot on. The outside terrace and the views are amazing.

  • This little cottage is gorgeous and cosy, had a fantastic time here with my daughter, so much to see and do in the village, we also went to the little beach and paddled, and when weather turned wild and windy we treated ourselves to spa treatments at the nearby Fowey hall. The cottage was spotless clean, lovely bath and really cosy bedrooms, and just a short walk to fantastic restaurants!

An absolutely stunning apartment. Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers fabulous views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.
Located right in the heart of the historic harbour village of Polruan on the eastern side of the Fowey estuary, this completely refurbished and modernised apartment offers amazing views of the whole of Fowey harbour. Polruan itself boasts two pubs, a cafe, a bakery, and a small village shop, and it is just a 4 minute ferry ride across the river to Fowey with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Cornwall of course has many and varied attractions and activities, but, be warned, you may find that with the fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery, stunning coastal walks, all of the water based activities - harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, self-drive motor boats - and so on, that you don't feel much like leaving the Fowey estuary at all! Take particular care when you pause briefly to sit on the window seat in the sitting room of the Captain's Cabin, you could lose a couple of unplanned, but contented, hours just watching and enjoying all of the activity in the harbour. The passenger ferry runs until 11pm from May through to September which makes staying in Polruan and enjoying the delights of Fowey an easy possibility. Your car can be left either in the Polruan car park or in the Fowey Car Park, should you feel like visiting another part of Cornwall, although crossing the estuary is quite easy via the Bodinnick car ferry. The Captain'sCabin itself is on the ground floor of the building with access through a shared entrance. The apartment is all on one level with the living room to the front, enjoying the fantastic view of the harbour through the enormous bay windows. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room which makes the apartment super warm when running. The kitchen is in a galley style and also enjoys the views. The bedroom to the rear benefits from a 6' double bed that can be split into two 3' singles if that is your preference for sleeping arrangements. This makes the apartment ideal for just a couple of friends sharing as well as couples. Ground Floor only: Entrance hall, living room, fully fitted kitchen, shower room with WC and bedroom with either a 6' double bed or two 3' single beds.
Polruan is based on the south coast of Cornwall on the river Fowey. It is a small village with only one road in or out. There are two pubs in the village, The Lugger and The Russell Inn, both offer an excellent range of food at very reasonable prices. From the quay you will find a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. The journey taking about 4 minutes. Being built on the side of a hill it has, thankfully not allowed too much expansion and commercialisation and as a result has retained much of its charm. In the main street itself (Fore Street - as you will find in most Cornish villages) you will find the Polruan Stores and Crumpets Cafe, on the Quay is The WinklePicker Shop (which is also the Post Office). There is a fabulous walk around the Fowey Estuary called the "Hall Walk" which takes in both ferries and Pont Pill Creek and offers some fabulous views - this is well worth doing. The coastal path offers breathtaking views and access to some fabulous beaches such as Lansallos and Lantic Bay, two of Cornwall's hidden gems. Just across the estuary is Fowey (pronounced Foy) one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Like Polruan it is set on the steep banks of the estuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore and there are numerous small shops and boutiques, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Views of the harbour are dramatic. Life in Polruan and Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. Alongside the fantastic beaches there are many other water based activities to get involved in: Harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, swimming, self-drive motor boats, I understand there is a picnic boat you can hire... and so on. Life on the water culminates in August with the the Polruan and Fowey Regattas where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Falmouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many landbased festivities around the estuary. There are countless attractions near to the Captain's Cabin including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens, the beautiful Luxulyan Valley and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Par duck ponds & woodland walks link to the Clay trail's long distance cycle paths. For garden lovers there are many open gardens to explore including Marsh villa Garden. You are in the heart of Du Maurier country with many places to find on the literary trail. Consult the guide books & folders in the cottage & explore to your hearts content!
  • We had a brilliant time loved the area ,great places to eat and drink .Apartment was a delight to stay in clean and warm with great views .

  • The most beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from excellent communication to the most exquisite attention to detail throughout the apartment. Could not have asked for a better place to spend my birthday. Just perfect.

    Rebecca2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The many positive comments about this holiday let and its host Jeremy are all certainly true. We arrived to find the Captain's Cabin to be warm and clean with a stylish decor. What a thoughtful and welcome touch the bottle of fizz and homemade brownies was. No one could fail to be impressed by the unobstructed scenery from the bay window in the living room. The large bed was complimented with a cosy duvet and sumptuous pillows. Jeremy has provided an informative 'Welcome Book' which we found very useful for finding out about walks, eating out and general information regarding the surrounding location. The very local Lugger Pub mentioned was a great find for craft beer and good food - I can recommend the lemon sole and steak pie; the menu changes daily. We don't think you'll fail to fall in love with this idyllic place.

    Andrew2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place - beautiful views and flat very well equipped with everything you need.

    Max2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous peaceful getaway. The window in the front room looks across the river estuary and never fails to give you peace. The town is great and the apartment is just perfect, cozy, comfortable and clean. Just wish we booked an extra night to enjoy Polruan and the b n b even more! Will be back.

    Peter2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem of an apartment, the views are to die for and will keep you sat in the bay window just watching all day ! The fizz and brownies were a lovely touch but I especially liked the fresh flowers. Everything was totally spotless and clean, i was worried about the cream carpet so my husband was made to take his shoes off in hallway especially after a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We unloaded our car at the teashop and then parked in the car park, just remember to keep lots of change handy for this. Totally quiet at night as not near any traffic, but quite steep if you have any mobility problems. We loved it and as it says `once you are there , there is no need to go anywhere` ! We would like to go back in the Summer.

    Clare2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure there is anything we can add to all the glowing reviews of this place. It is everything people say it is, and more – Jeremy is a superb host, and the photos can never do this place justice. It is stunning, and the view will be something you'll never forget. The town itself is within minutes of incredible country walks, friendly pubs and a charming ferry ride to Fowey. We wished we could've stayed for an entire week.

    Thomas2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find! The view is exceptional, Jeremy was a brilliant host and left some delicious brownies (they didn’t touch the sides!). Very clean, well equipped, comfortable bed, the log burner was the best with the cold evenings coming in - Absolutely amazing!!! Parking is up a VERY steep hill, we paid £20 for 72 hours. There is free parking nearby although we weren’t aware of this until after we had paid elsewhere. We did park on the high-street to unpack the car which wasn’t a problem (highly recommend if you don’t travel lightly). Great weekend, we both loved it and will certainly return. Thank you again Jeremy!

Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.St Austell was once the major producer of the worlds China Clay, now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30 is home to one of Cornwalls Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwalls highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwalls stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.
  • Treganoon Round Barn is perfectly situated for families to explore the main tourist spots in the area (Eden project, Charlestown, Bodmin Steam Railway to name a few). The barn itself was stocked with all amenities we could need including plenty of toys and games for our son to enjoy. The barn was cosy and warm on the stormy winter nights and is in a very tranquil location with no worries of any noise disturbance. Jenny was on hand to help us connect to the wi-fi and also let us have a look at the owl cam in her home before we left.

  • A very comfortable barn, ideal for family holidays, in a beautiful, tranquil location. Richard provided two cots, two highchairs and a stairgate for us, at our request in advance, as our little grandsons were staying with us. Everything was in place when we arrived and we all had a wonderful time. There were lots of toys and books for the little ones too, so it was perfect. We'd love to visit again.

  • This was an amazing property. There was 6 of us staying here an was more than big enough. With free rage chickens running around. The property was clean and we had a great welcome with fresh scones. Location nice and close to the Eden project and the beaches, but far away so all you could hear was the sound of the birds. None of us wanted to leave. Would recommend this to everyone:)

Located on a new residential road, overlooking fields in the distance. Just up the hill from the pretty, historic harbour town of Fowey (pronounced Foy, as in 'A Hoy'!). Fowey is a year round town popular with tourists and locals, with great shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Seasonal ferries run to Mevagissy for The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and there is a regular ferry to the village of Polruan across the harbour and the car ferry to Boddinick and onto Polperro and Looe. Mike2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little place! Easy to get to from the train station and had lots of cozy blankets! Would absolutely stay again if I was in Cornwall!

  • This is an adorable little flat, the bed is very comfortable, and it’s a great place for exploring the local area. You’ll feel very warmly welcomed here! It’s quite chilly, the oil heaters work well but I’d recommend bringing slippers and a hot water bottle if you tend to get cold at night. There’s a very quirky cottage feel to the place, which is lovely.

    Emily2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Sweet Shop cottage for New Years Eve, for a country getaway. The house was so small and cosy with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom upstairs. The house was decorated with local artwork and had a variety of leaflets about the local area, Chris also told us where to visit which was great. We were welcomed by Chris who explained how to work everything and left us a cream tea which was a lovely treat after our 2 hour drive down. The kitchen had the basics and there were supplies to make tea and coffee, oven, microwave, fridge, kettle ect. The bathroom had an amazing shower and the bedroom was spacious with a really comfy bed and TV for entertainment. The house had no central heating so the floor was really cold (take slippers!) but upstairs was fine. There were oil heaters on both levels to keep us warm. We walked down to Charlestown Harbour which was beautiful with the sea, rocks and fairy lights everywhere. It was the peaceful break we were looking for and I can't recommend Chris' house more!

    Brittany2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, and easy check in. Chris provided scones, jam and cream, which was a lovely touch. Comfortable and self contained, parking space available, made it a great place for a short stay. Easy walking distance to Charlestown Harbour!

  • Lovely little place.. full of character and ideal to have a parking space so close to the town..

    Sarah2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quirky little place. Fab location for local shops/ pubs/ beach. It is on the road so a little noisy, but you can’t hear this from the bedroom. Great for 2 people. The cream tea was lovely - thank you! The parking was good, but wouldn’t recommend if you have a large vehicle/ 4x4. The hosts were super welcoming and friendly.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was very well equipped, nice furniture and artwork, and very comfortable beds. Our kids enjoyed the board games and console. The location is great, right next to the river, with a very short walk over the old bridge to the middle of lostwithiel. Definitely recommended!

  • We had a perfect stay here, the house itself is stunning and it has been very tastefully furnished. Everything is available and it felt like being at home. We know the area well but there was plenty of information available. We would absolutely return to Mallard Heights and we were sad to leave it!

  • Siobhan is a great host, who gave us loads of local tips and advice. Would highly recommend staying at her apartment.

  • Siobhan was very welcoming and helpful, and her place was smart, cosy and comfortable. We also appreciated it being fully decorated for Christmas! It's a perfect spot for beach walks.

  • Great location .. comfortable and well stocked home

    Lisa2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely part of the world. The sea view from the road is a wonderful morning tonic. The apartment itself is private and has all the mod-cons, and is spick and span. We had a lovely two night stay whilst visiting friends. There are a number of restaurants about 10-12 minute walk away (we recommend Edie's Kitchen), and there are a couple of supermarkets in neighbouring Charlestown which are 5-7 minute drive away. All in all, a lovely little visit and a great little bolt hole to get away from it all.

  • We are a family of four and stayed for two nights. Appt was stunning. We generally cook on our trips and the modern kitchen has everything one would need. The rest of the appt was also furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. The check in process was very smooth and our host met us on arrival to show us around and gave us a lot of useful local tips. Very highly recommended.

The Netloft is a compact, characterful, newly converted stone outbuilding situated within 200m of Charlestown's famous harbour and beaches and of the South West Coast Path. For just a couple, the open plan design includes a Kitchen area, a small Sitting/Dining area and a Bedroom area. The Shower Room has a rainfall shower. There are several eating places and two public houses within two minutes walk whilst the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are each with a fifteen minute drive.
  • Nice cosy place for a couple. Charlestown has a good selection of places to eat. Nearest grocery shop is probably Asda about 15 mins walk away

    Mick2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Nestloft is a wonderfully cosy and idyllic quiet little haven that is near excellent restaurants in the historic port of Charlestown. It is sparkling clean and its owners have thought of EVERY detail to make our stay welcome, even good real coffee capsules! I consider it a great find, in fact one of the best places I have stayed in so far, and I have tried many airbnb's! We will be back.

    Angelique2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The net loft is a lovely, cosy, spotless well set out property. Everything you need and more. Fabulous shower and well set out kitchen area. Comfy bed, quiet and very conveniently located. We ate in the Boathouse next door both nights. Highly recommended

  • Beautiful little cottage in an excellent location. The cottage exceeded expectations from the pictures, it had everything we needed for a short break, was spotless and cosy. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will certainly be returning.

  • Such a sweet and cosy little home. Perfect for a long weekend away from it all, and for hiding away from stormy British weather! Charlestown is a lovely town to explore and has good access to St Austell, Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Pat and Keith were friendly and helpful. Hope to come back one day!

  • Louise was a great host, gave advice and left us with thorough instructions to check in when it seemed she wouldn’t be in. There was enough kitchen to cook up a quick dinner, the bed was comfortable and warm, and everything worked well and was very clean.

  • It is a cute space for a family. With one bed, a sofa bed and a little place to eat (breakfast or take away food). The bathroom is perfectly correct. It has a big tv with a DVD player (a very good option to relax). Louise is so nice. And in Tywardreath there is a good pub to drink a beer or to eat and a take away food place.

    Pau2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's studio has everything you need for a perfect stay. Very clean and comfortable with enough space for myself, daughter, great nephew and our dog!

Stay in part of our farmhouse on our working farm 1 .5 miles from the picturesque village of Lerryn. You will be able to have a proper country cooking experience with the aga cooker. Ideal for a couple or small family, although there is no WiFi we do have very good 4G signal. Great for families or friends for those getting married at nearby Tredudwell Manor . Ideal for exploring the nearby coast path and beaches of Lansallos , Lantivet , Lantic Bay and Palace Cove .
The living area consists of a large kitchen dinner with an AGA cooker, a lounge, bathroom and a separate toilet. The bathroom has a corner bath with mixer taps . Please note there is no shower. Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a large single as well. It is possible to fit a travel cot in the double bedroom if necessary . There is a small area of the garden for your own use but this is not completely enclosed.
We are 1 .5miles from Lerryn, 3 miles from Boddinick where the is a car and passenger ferry to Fowey, 5 miles from Lostwithiel and 9 miles from the fishing ports of Looe and Polperro. Good base for visiting Eden project , The lost gardens of heligan and national trust properties including Lanhydrock House .
  • Lovely cottage on a farm in a great location. The aga was a highlight, as were the little extras that Alison kindly left us with. Definitely recommended!

    Toby2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay on the farm. House was lovely and warm and very comfortable. It was lovely to meet Alison and Oliver, super hosts.

  • Lovely cottage in a relaxing spot. Would highly recommend

    Michelle2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is delightful, with beautiful views and is well placed for visiting the Eden Project. Everything needed for a short stay is provided and we enjoyed the warmth of the Aga on October days. Highly recommended! Thank you Alison.

    Gillian2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay in Alison's gorgeous cottage. It was spotlessly clean with every comfort we could want for. Alison contacted us ahead to ask if we'd like the stair gate and travel cot put up which was a thoughtful gesture. There were boxes of toys and books to keep the little ones busy and we loved the welcome basket with scones, clotted cream, and jam. The cottage was really cosy and warm thanks to the aga and we loved how spacious the kitchen was with views over the fields to the sheep and cows. Would love to stay again one day.

    Kayleigh2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't chose the weather very well, the wind and rain were howling outside but my favourite time was sat down around the lovely warm aga in the kitchen with family. This place exceeded my expectations and perfectly suited our needs. Alison was extremely accommodating with our unexpected late check in, she was very responsive to messages which was extremely helpful when we got a bit lost on the way down. We really appreciated all the little extra touches Alison has done to make our stay easier and the house was immaculate. Highly recommended to all.

  • Perfect stay on a lovely farm 😄

    Milly2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy, comfortable cottage, with splendid views across open countryside, particularly from the kitchen window. Very quiet and an ideal place to relax and get away from it all. Alison was very helpful and gave us lots of useful information about the area.
