Kootenay Lake is in your front yard as are the numerous 10,000' mountain peaks. Fully equipped kitchen and 4 piece bathroom all brand new! Three 8' sliding doors and a 12' bay window offers great light and great views! 60" TV with free WiFi and two fireplaces!
On your deck are; pool table, foose ball table, domed hockey table, punching bag and a treadmill. In the yard below you is a horse shoe pit, a firepit and tons of room to sunbath etc. There is a private beach right in front for campfires, sun bathing etc. with tables plenty of chairs. There are also two kayaks and a canoe (with plenty of life jackets) that you are welcome to enjoy. On the same property is Kokanee Glacier Lake House (see separate listing). There is a 9 hole golf course in town as well as a cool pub with great food, a convenience store/post office/liquor and beer store.

  • Stanley's Air BnB is wonderful. So many thoughtful touches. A great place to kick back and relax or engage in fun family games including billiards, darts, horseshoes and fuse ball. The outside firepit was well stocked with dry firewood and the views are breath-taking. I have a strong feeling our family/friends will be coming back for a return visit!!!

  • The location and the scenery are very convenient. It is a little disappointing that the electric voltage is weak

  • Wade's place was a little slice of heaven. We were there for work and wish that we had more time in the day to enjoy the place. But the lodging was perfect, very comfortable, clean and exactly as advertised. Wade was very responsive and his wife, Sharon, was super welcoming. We also loved the chicken, bunnies, and campfire (even if we didn't get to use it). I would recommend the space highly for small parties looking to spend time in beautiful Riondel.

    Tove2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved the stay! Great hosts, cute place and lovely area!

    Arye2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely air bnb for a getaway. The chicken coop and the bunnies in the back were so charming, and Wade set up a fire for us in the backyard. Such a kind and helpful host. A short walk to the beach was lovely for an evening raft float. The accommodation was cute, clean, and had everything we needed for the weekend.

  • Stunning location on a gorgeous private beach, fast, efficient, and kind communication from Kelly. What a lovely spot to return after a long soak next door to enjoy a wine by the roaring fire. Thank you so much Kelly, we will be back in the summer!

  • Kelly’s place was such an awesome spot, especially if you’re wanting to spend some time at the hot springs. The lake view was amazing and although it was too cold to head down to the beach, we enjoyed waking up to that view every morning. This place would be unreal in the summer but January was still wonderful (plus hot springs in the winter are better anyway!) This spot has everything you would need to make yourself feel at home.

    Samantha & Mark2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for hot springs. Beautiful views. Spacious and cozy. All the basic necessities and then some. We will surely be back.

  • You cannot beat this place for comfort and value. Kelly's place is right on Kootenay lake with stunning lake and mountain views from the windows and the balcony deck looking over the lake. It's directly across the street from Ainsworth hot springs. The place is clean, comfy, has good WiFi, is artfully decorated and has a well equipped kitchen with good quality cookware, cutting boards and all the basics like salt, sugar and coffee....and even a bbq balcony. We like wandering down to the pebble beach with our coffee or walking along the road above the Ainsworth Hot Springs. It's also a short drive to trail heads and several cute towns with great food, site-seeing and shopping....so lots to do. There is a TV, but we are so busy relaxing and enjoying the area we never watched it.

    Karen2020-01-29T00:00:00Z

Great downhill powder skiing nearby at Nelson, weather permitting.
  • Marsha was so awesome and sweet. I really loved her and would definitely stay there again. The rooms had these really cute little closets that my 3 year old loved playing fort in. Great location next to the hot spring. Friendly dog. Great privacy. Overall just a great experience staying there. We often go to Ainsworth and stay at the local BnB’s. A small paradise, really. A step up from a cabin. Big windows, trees, gardens... quiet. Close to Riondel village, Yasodhara Ashram, public beach, secret beaches, Crawford Bay... many, many amazing trails (hike for few minutes or hours), 4 minutes to Kootenay ferry... add 20 minutes to get to Ainsworth Hot Springs. Close to Nelson, Kaslo. . . Golf, hiking, outdoors, visit artisan shops... Perfect place to reflect, write, find peace... (Please no loud parties)
Mojo Mobile Food stationed at the end of the driveway (practically), amazing restaurant and cafes in Crawford Bay, Ferry landing, Saturday Market at the Riondel Campground...
  • Away from it all Chantal’s place is very secluded, in a forest, some 100 m or so away from the next house. It is clean, cute, and cozy, has plenty of supplies, and a balcony overlooking a garden with fruits and veggies. In Aug, I harvested sweetpeas, plums, and tomatoes (which were actually sweet! … in contrast to store-bought). Chantal is a pleasure to talk to, with her endearing French accent, oh la la! Occasional visitors include deer and turkeys (also, don’t run them over along roadways). There are a number of trails to which my little doggy took me :) for walks. Some are hard to find; ask locals or the tourist info in Crawford Bay, which has a bunch of unique stores. I enjoyed my stay at Chantal’s place a lot, and would gladly return.

  • We stayed in the Grandview Chalet which was lovely and located within Soul’s Paradise. It was nice having a kitchen to cook meals and later relax on the front deck. There is also a little coffee shop by the ferry and some nice local restaurants . Close access to the ferry was a bonus. Upstairs bedroom is an open loft area with a screen for privacy. We would definitely considered staying here again should we be back in Crawford Bay.

  • Charming cabin On the grounds of a beautiful estate. We took a lovely hike to a waterfall right behind the cottage. Joanne and her husband were very thoughtful and brought us some fresh produce from their garden. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back.

  • Our stay was amazing. Beautiful cabin and amenities. Amazing location. The lawns games and fire pit were a very nice touch.

  • This place is by far the most relaxing environment I have be in! Absolutely gorgeous views, beautiful cozy cabin & a beautiful waterfall hike right behind the cabin! It was absolutely perfect in every way! Only things I would consider are that you are required to Hall all your stuff up the hill as you have to park at the bottom & walk up. I would have packed differently if I had realized this. & of course adding the Cody Cave Tours to the local things to do is a must as it was life changing and had so many different skill levels!!! Best vaca we have been on!!! Thank you.

    Anna2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Joan’s property is spectacular. I needed to get out of the City for a week-long writing retreat and the cabin was the perfect place. It was equipped with everything I needed, but if anything came up Joan was super responsive. There are great hiking trails right from the front door, beach access and a great little bakery/cafe just a 15 min walk away—with a short cut through the woods. I will definitely be back!!

A little piece of paradise here on earth! Yes, our opinion, but most of our visitors agree!Charming and cozy two bedroom, one bath cottage on beautiful Kootenay Lake! Enjoy 100 feet of private, sandy beach. Minutes walk from the Ainsworth Hot Springs and 20 minutes south of Kaslo. One of the only rentals that offers your own private beach with a dock available and two kayaks for use! Whether it's fun-in-the-sun, outdoor adventure, peace and tranquility, Summer or Winter, you can find it here!
The house is 840 sq feet, with 2 bedrooms (queen and double bed) and one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Everyday cooking essentials are always stocked! There is a washer/dryer and the bathroom has a tub with separate shower. The deck faces the lake and includes seating for 6 and a propane bbq. Very spacious and large windows to enjoy the view of the lake and mountains!
Kootenay Lake is a beautiful destination and doesn’t freeze over winter! It is British Columbia’s best kept secret! Ainsworth Hot Springs has a population of only 50 and is very peaceful and charming. The Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort is a 5 minute walk away from the house and features a 150 ft natural cave. It is open year round with a great restaurant and spa. Cody Caves are located just north of Ainsworth and offer guided tours through the limestone caves! An angling and boaters favourite, world-class Rainbow Trout fishing is also on offer any time of year. Woodbury Resort & Marina is 5km north of Ainsworth Hot Springs and offers boat rentals, boat launching and charters. Rent a boat and dock it in front of the lake house! Kaslo (known as Canada’s little Switzerland!) is located 15 minutes north of Ainsworth and is famous for its festivals: May Days, the Logger Sports competition, and the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival. Tour the windy mountain roads in the area on bicycle or motorcycle, or travel the international Selkirk Loop via RV. If outdoor adventures are your thing, head down to the lake, or up to the mountain biking and backcountry hiking trails. In the winter there are amazing “sledding” or snowmobiling bowls nearby, as well as cross-country skiing on groomed trails or the most exhilarating powder skiing you can imagine at Retallack or with Selkirk Snowcat Skiing, and Stellar Heliskiiing.
  • Everything was just perfect. Pat the owner, house location. There is peace, tranquility and fabulous view, just like heaven on earth. Everything about Pat’s lake house was perfect for us from A-Z!

  • Great place to stay, we were very lucky and were on our own without neighbors for our entire stay. The house was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities promised. The hot springs were within a short walking distance along with a pretty decent restaurant, should you choose to eat out. The deck facing the lake was were we spent our mornings watching the sun rise, bird watching or just taking in the spectacular view. Thank you Pat, what a nice little cabin to stay in while visiting the West Kootenays.

  • Great stay! The cabin is very comfortable and clean, and the location is beautiful. Joan and John are very friendly and shared helpful information. Highly recommend!

  • So much gratitude to Joan and John for providing a beautiful space for our Canadian get-away. The cabin is a fine example of craftsmanship, embellished with creative handmade details and much of the artwork throughout is by local artisans. Everything we needed was available and the cabin was immaculate. The grounds are amazing. A trail directly to the back of the cabin will take you to an incredible waterfall. The hike is 25 minutes and well-marked with thoughtfulness and humor. We ate one meal in and for the second night, Joan recommended the Black Salt Cafe. Delicious! All-in-all, this is a 5-star experience. We will definitely book again for a next round of adventure!

  • My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful cabin. Would highly recommend both the host and the property. Spotless, beautiful location with an interesting history. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of information available on surrounding area. Joan more than willing to share any tips or information and was readily available. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. Would not hesitate to return.

  • Joan and John were excellent hosts. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. They are full of local and natural knowledge. The property is stunning and full of wildlife and history. We saw hummingbirds and a family of deer from the front porch. The natural water features lull you to sleep at night. Truly an amazing place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and just relax. Make sure to check out the trails all over the property! Thanks Joan and John!

  • Deb was so welcoming to her bungalow in the mountains. Her home was a great place to rest after a fantastic hike (which she recommended). Soaking in the jacuzzi was heavenly after a day on trail. The room was spotless, and the bed very comfortable. Views from her house are spectacular. Highly recommend!

  • The property and view are exquisite. Deb is very easy-going and friendly. It's been very comfortable for me. There is not a separate entrance, which is not a big deal to me, but important to know for those who do not like to interact with their hosts. I want to move here!

Welcome to our serene and spacious sweet suite steps from Kokanee Springs golf course. Newly finished, it has its own private west-facing entrance and patio with forest and mountain views. Birches, cedars, chestnut, oak, firs and pines provide a gorgeous green retreat. Only minutes drive from sandy beach, artisan shops, grocery/liquor store. Enjoy incredible nature by hiking, biking or kayaking. The ferry is about 10 minutes away, taking you across the lake to Nelson and Ainsworth Hotsprings.
This is a large one bedroom suite in our house. It has a kitchen, full bath, private entrance and small patio. A barbecue and propane firepit are also available for use.
Our house is on a private 1-acre lot with no view of other houses. Once you come out of our driveway, on to the main road, you will see the golf course fairway and surrounding mountains. The acreages along the road are well spaced out, some with large homes looking out toward Kokanee Glacier. It is usually very quiet with minimal traffic.
  • The Soul Sanctum is a peaceful retreat for travelers. The community of Crawford Bay has many artists working in various media. We enjoyed our stay and then took the free ferry across Kootenay Lake and visited Ainsworth Hot Springs. The whole visit was wonderful. Robert & Vicki, Walla Walla, WA

    Vicki2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Soul Sanctum is a first-rate place to stay. It's sparkling clean, handsomely appointed, spacious, comfortable, restful, peaceful, and generously equipped with coffee, tea, towels, pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, and other kitchen supplies. I found the chairs and the bed very comfortable. I balanced my time between hikes in the area and spending time resting in Soul Sanctum and these times of rest were peaceful and helped me recharge my energy. Elvin and Cindy were attentive to my needs, offered me any and all assistance I might need, but, as it turned out, they had this place so well set up and their preparations were so exquisite that I didn't need further assistance. I hope one day I'll return to the Crawford Bay area and have the pleasure of staying at Soul Sanctum again.

  • Perfect cabin with a peek-a-boo water and Mountain View’s. Very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. There aren’t many stores or places to grab food nearby that are open late so come prepared ahead of time. Very rural area, beautiful lake and area. Close to ferry.

A beautiful loft apartment with kitchen and a comfortable e-z bed. Enjoy the deck overlooking the small town, or hike the near by walking trails of this old mining town. Just a minute walk to the public beach , or enjoy a game of golf on Riondel's 9 hole course. Just a block from our friendly Riondel market that has a bit of everything that you need. 15 minutes to the longest free ferry ride or to Crawford Bay artisan strip, or golf Kokanee Springs . We offer a continental breakfast.
"The Loft" was all hand constructed over a flat roofed garage by my husband Dave. He also painstakingly built the rod iron fencing in the front yard, and cedar in the back yard. As you enter upstairs you will see the lovely hand crafted cabinetry of this beautiful suite. There is always a little construction going on around the yard to try and make it perfect some day. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
We live in a quiet little town, with a general store that has almost all your needs just a short walk down the street.
  • This space was perfect for my husband and I’s night away in Riondel. Very clean and stylish- the private patio and breakfast was a great touch, we will be back for sure!

  • Wonderful place and wonderful country.

    Todd2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home. Amazing views. We enjoyed playing some of the games in game cabinet, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, kitchenware was adequately stocked, and loved the private shoreline! We fill a bit mislead as to the price, online it listed $133 a night and we paid much more than that? I think the discrepancy is with Airbnb and not the host, but nevertheless something was amiss. Nevertheless we had a wonderful time and would recommend their lovely home to anyone!

  • We've stayed here 4 years in a row and look forward to going back again. Love the property. It's super clean, well appointed, quiet, and private. We are always able to unwind and let the outside world melt away here. Thanks Tony & Wendy for another beautiful stay.

    Michelle2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cabin! Would definitely recommend to anyone that is on the hunt for a peaceful getaway. The cabin was lovely - very cozy. But the atmosphere with the calm lake, jumping fish and serene forest was by far the best part. We spent our days fishing on the lake and with a bit of luck, caught a few fish. We spent our evenings casting off the rocks and enjoying the campfire. My husband and I had never been to the Kootenays before but both Tony and Wendy were extremely helpful with their recommendations. They had a binder full of different activities and brochures. They were very quick with responding to our questions. They sent us directions and the ferry schedule as soon as we booked the cabin. Overall a wonderful, peaceful experience. Definitely recommend!

    Megan2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exceptional. The space, the view, the details, everything. The cabin was small and sweet but perfectly appointed, above expectations, and perfectly clean. It had a spectacular view. Outside we’re chairs and tables on multiples levels and views upon views. The pictures are spot on. Terry and Wendy and lovely people and in addition to the helpful binder of info in the cabin, they offered any suggestions. All in all, perfect. We will be back. Thanks!

    Kim2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Wendy are great hosts. We were met by fresh flowers on the table and fresh home-baked cookies. Wendy brought us some garden raspberries, which were delicious. This is a lovey and comfortable cabin with great lake views, nice landscaping and a quiet atmosphere. We would recommend this cabin!

  • Our stay was easy to arrange and coordination with Sarah through the check-in process and our stay was excellent too. Sarah met us at the house and gave us the tour then left us to get settled. When we contacted Sarah about needing some supplies she brought them over almost instantly. Upstairs in the house is two double beds in their own rooms, then a large 'great room' also upstairs housed a double over single bunk bed plus a toddler bed. The main floor had the master bedroom with ensuite, a dining room, kitchen with eating area, a foyer and a huge living room. The floors are gorgeous as are the two bathrooms and kitchen. There's loads of books to read and the kitchen is well stocked. We managed to eat quite a few of the apricots that are ready, but future guests will get a chance to enjoy the peaches, pears and apples. On our last night we enjoyed the bonfire on the beach with smores and roasted smokies. It was a great vacation!

    Helen2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is cozy and situated right between Mirror lake and Kootenay Lake (1 min walk to both). Mirror lake is small, clean and so warm :) Kaslo is a quaint town with amazing food and scenery

  • Maggie's house was a lovely quiet retreat in the woods with a stunning view of the Lake and Glacier. It is very close to the ferry (which is free!) and a few miles into a small town full of artists and other eclectic shops. Never seen a broom making store before, right out of Harry Potter. You can even do Yoga there in her studio. She was a great host with a wonderful sense of humour.

  • I loved the warm welcoming upon arrival, the comfortable and clean room, the great breakfast & coffee, of course, as well as a genuine feeling of calmness and serenity being surrounded in nature. • We had the best week here! I travelled with my 2 dogs, and as soon as we drove up to the campsite, I knew we had found a winner. Claudette was very helpful and accommodating, and continued to check in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The tent was a nice huge space, room for 2 dog beds on top of the very comfortable mattress already in there. It was also nice having the bathrooms so close to the site. Best for last: the beach! I didn’t go onto the people beach, but the dog beach was a great space where the dogs could swim and run until they were beat. Even though the location is a bit of a drive for us, I plan to make this campground a regular summer spot for many summers to come!

  • Nothing beats the view! It was amazing. We spent as much time as possible on the deck! I miss that view already. Due to the beautiful bay windows and no doors it was a bright for the baby in terms of sleeping (prepare to improvise if you have kiddos) and the fact that you had to drive to the lake was unfortunate because we had to pack up the car seat etc for 1km drive (too unsafe to talk along the highway) BUT we would definitely stay there again because having dinner and coffee on that deck was worth it!

    Claudia2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing view! The cabin was easy to find and very well appointed. Lived the propane fire pit in the huge front deck. It is tastefully decorated and has a modern feel. Candyce is wonderful and responds quickly. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
