Adirondack cottage with lake access. Tucked into a lakeside association on Loon Lake, this comfortable home offers all the experiences you look for in a summer Adirondack vacation. Walk to the two association beaches, or 60 second drive to the lake's only public beach. Surrounded by trees, take in the sights and sounds while sitting on the porch, second story deck, or around the fire pit. I am less than an hour away and eager to address any needs you may have. No separate cleaning fee.
Open living room and dining room, with natural pine ceiling and lots of light. Dining table easily seats 10. Bedrooms are darker, with lower (7')ceilings. Master bedroom and one full bathroom on upper floor. The other two bedroom are downstairs with their own full bathroom. No tubs, showers only in each, with both fixed and handheld showerheads. Both floors have an exterior entrance. Full kitchen with oven/stove; microwave; dishwasher; toaster; coffee maker; dishes and glassware. Also a popcorn air popper; toaster oven; blender; pots and pans. Small propane grill on the porch, and a table that seats 6. Metal fire pit on the front lawn with Adirondack style chairs. Wood for fire pit provided. I always keep one night vacant between guests to allow proper cleaning/disinfecting.
5 minutes from the highway (I-87), literally just one turn off the exit ramp and one turn to the cottage. Great information center halfway between, with maps, brochures, and great suggestions. Quaint town of Chestertown 4 minutes away with shops and restaurants - you can walk the whole length of main street. Deli / Market 1 minute drive. Grocery store 4 minute drive. Extended hours convenience store and Dollar Store 5 minutes drive. The marina is less than two miles away, and offers rentals of boats, kayaks, and SUPs. Lake George Village, with it's nightlife and activities, is 25 minutes away.
  • Ray is an excellent host with a beautiful cabin. Everything that was mentioned and more was included. We had no shortage of things do to due to the material Ray left us, and he responded promptly whenever we had a question. We had absolutely nothing to complain about and were quite pleased with the spaciousness of the cabin. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Somewhere between “Glamping” and... “Camping”. It’s this new thing - where you leave the machinations of the urban world behind and retreat to the calming surrounds of nature. To some extent. This isn't exactly primitive. 1/4 mile trek. A footbridge over a winding stream, a fire-pit, a hammock, Adirondack chairs and a clearing under the hemlocks will be your immediate surroundings. No electricity. No running water. You are alone - surrounded by hundreds of acres of private, wild forest.
You've got to walk!! It's .3 miles (5-10 minute walk on a trail) from parking. Transportation by UTV is available for a $10 fee per ride (please make arrangements in advance. Also - you can't drive there - don't ask). You will need your own gear!! We don't provide bedding!! There will be a clean bottom sheet on the bed and a decorative cover blanket/pillows. Bring your sleeping gear. There is a cooler and an large oak ice box for food storage. Firewood for wood stove and firepit provided. Grilling station - both propane and charcoal (both provided)- for the serious outdoor chef. A dry sink and countertop for cleaning and prep. complete the kitchen. The tent is a spacious 16x20’ and furnished sparingly with a mix of old and new conveniences. A king-sized bed (carefully designed by chainsaw) dominates the wooden deck and slab steps (both milled on the property). The property is over 200 acres of mostly wild forest. The road in is unimproved and can be a bit rough - although 4 wheel drive isn't necessary it can be helpful (especially in winter.) There is a network of well-marked trails for hiking and skiing and a pond with a small beach and picnic area. There are several houses/cabins around - all are occupied. please be quiet and respectful of owners/tenants privacy if you happen to be nearby one.
What makes our neighborhood special? Nothing!! It's special because there is nothing around! You are alone in the Adirondack wilderness!! Can you hear the outside world? No - for the most part, although the outside world is very loud and we can’t make any such guarantees.
  • Everything about Margaret’s camp was extremely well done; The tent was thoughtfully placed, very clean, and the surroundings gave it a magical feel! We loved the sound of the stream at bedtime and the comfortable mattress! It was chilly the weekend we stayed but if you bring lots of blankets, the fire inside will keep you nice and warm! We can’t wait to come back again!

  • Perfect Getaway!!! Great location to be out of the city. Peaceful and relaxing. The best place to don't have a cellphone and expend time by the fire playing cards, Monopoly, etc. We will definitely come back soon!!! Thanks, Margaret for everything. Hope you guys enjoy the Sleeping bag, We used it the first night bc we could turn the indoor fireplace on.

  • This is a truly magical escape surrounded by the beautiful trees and forest. The walk is worth it as you are in the middle of the woods and your cares and worries about every day life just fade away. it is so peaceful & serene with the stream running through the property. We stayed in mid-October and the indoor fireplace kept us very warm and cozy at night time. Margarete is a wonderful host & set the scene for a perfect, amazing weekend. She provides all the amenities which comes in handy if you forgot any basic things at home. There is great hiking right on the property which is also a plus. Will absolutely be back. :)

  • Perfect glamping location! Loved the space, definitely coming back!!

  • My sister and I had the perfect weekend getaway! Margaret's place was so peaceful and relaxing! We loved being surrounded by the woods and cooking by the fire. Definitely recommend to anyone!

    Hannah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s place is PERFECT! Secluded, quiet, relaxing, and extremely well kept. All supplies are provided at the camp, just bring food and bedding! Close enough for day trips into lake George, or enjoy the day relaxing at the camp. Couldn’t have chose a better place to stay!

    Steph2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a well-placed deep woods camp with everything you need for a short glamping trip. We loved the location and so did our dog! Plenty of open woods to explore along with a pond nearby and a stream passing right through the camp. Nothing but good things to say about our stay! If we are heading to this area again we will certainly look to one of Margarete’s places first!

  • Beautiful place. Very secluded. My wife loved spending time on the Hammock in the mornings. Gets super duper dark in the night as you would expect hence bon-fire is that much fun. It gets cold at night so pack that hoodie you got, along with extra bedding. Margarete was very responsive through out. I would love to visit again!

This tiny, magical, rustic, cabin is situated overlooking a large pond on a private property of 200+ acres. Though the cabin is very small (about 10x12 ft with an upstairs sleeping loft) it is quaint and lovingly made with hand split cedar shingles and locally harvested wood. There is an outhouse and no power/running water, but a 5 gallon cooler of spring-fed drinking water is provided.
This cabin looks like a fairy tale - nestled beneath tall Scotch pines and though small - well equipped. It has a single cot on the main floor and there are two large camping pads in the upstairs loft. Make no mistake - this is camping - but in a delightful setting.
This is a large, private property, mostly forested with a few open meadows. It is paramount that our guests respect the privacy of the other inhabitants on this property. There are trails on the property available for use - if you find yourself near someone's dwelling area please give them space and be considerate.
  • The Tiny Cabin was so cute and wonderful! The lake right outside was an awesome thing to wake up to. It was a little difficult keeping the fire going through the night but that's because I went alone. There was a lot of ice on the walk to the cabin, so be careful! Otherwise, 10/10 amazing experience, and I'll definitely come back again sometime. Pots/pans/utensils and more were provided, even a teapot!!! I highly recommend staying here!

    Olive2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This rustic tiny cabin was the perfect getaway from it all. Accurately described, simple, and peaceful accommodations. We stayed in the winter for the 15 minute drive to Gore Mountain. Would love to come again for the summer season.

    Christy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Was so nice the first time we had to come again! Wood stove is super cozy and we would come back in a heart beat in any season! Perfect location for visiting Gore Mountain. Since this is winter its of note that you may need snow tires/chains to reliably get around after heavy snow. After coming a few times I would also recommend a headlamp/nice lantern for extra lighting options. (Many are provided, but I preferred my gas burning lantern) Many thanks to Margarete for being a great hostess! The cabin is thoughtfully cleaned and stocked each time we've visited!

    Ben2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s place is where you can find serenity and gratitude for the simple things in life. We enjoyed exploring the woods, sledding down a hill, journaling under snow frosted trees, the warmth of the wood stove, and just simply observing nature. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful part of the Adirondacks.

    Jacob2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny cabin is wonderful and cozy. The trails on the property made for fantastic winter hiking and beautiful surroundings. My friends and I had a relaxing and fulfilling time here.

    Hannah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication

    Alfredo2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely magical escape. We had a great time exploring the winter wonderland with our pups. Very grateful for the crampons that were so kindly provided in the cabin and for the wonderfully maintained private hiking trails.

    Anna2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margarete’s Tiny Cabin, set back in the woods beside a small lake was the epitome of peacefulness. The cabin itself, while limited in amenities, makes up for that by being an inviting and cozy space. The setting could not be better, on the shore of a serene small lake with access to beautiful forest trails. For those looking to get away and unplug (literally), a more perfect location could not be found. This is a place I would return to again and again, any season.

  • Dave has built an amazing space here! Eric welcomed us into the house and was great as a host. We all enjoyed our stay and loved hanging out by the fire with Wilson. We’ll definitely be back in the future :)

    Julia2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I have been at Dave’s for a weekend with three friends of mine. We really enjoyed our staying. The place is beautiful and Dave has been very kind with us. We are looking forward to coming back maybe during the summer. I definitely suggest to staying at Dave’s!

    Matteo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • David is great to deal with and has great communication when needed.

    Greg2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. We came here because of skiing/snowboarding and this house is only 10 min ride from the Gore mountain. The shared kitchen, living room, and games room meant that we met lots of nice people and had great conversations in the evenings. The host is very hospitable and friendly and his dog is very well behaved. Amenities were great and the house was clean. It was very quiet at night. Perfect escape from the city :)

    Natália2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A couple of friends and I stayed at David’s place for a little ski trip over a weekend and David was a great host. Nice and friendly environment, very home-y and all around a convenient and fun place to stay. 10/10. Would recommend

    Kenny2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dave is an exceptional host (and then some). The house itself is beautifully furnished and adorned with outdoorsy frills and other nice touches that create a fun and cozy atmosphere that matches the culture of the house. I typically avoid arrangements that have any shared element to them but this was amazing. My party and I spent a good amount of our evening chatting and playing games with the other guests and our host and had a blast. The house was full but there were no issues whatsoever with sharing a kitchen or bathrooms, etc. I should also mention that Dave’s dog (super friendly and mellow) should be considered a big draw. I don’t think there’s any way Dave could have been more hospitable between his knowledge of the area and its sights and overall helpfulness, and I can confidently say that this was my favorite Airbnb stay.

    Jack2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • David is a great host. His home has many nice touches. His dog, Wilson, is super sweet.

    Robert2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you're skiing at Gore or at Garnet Hill, or if you're up hiking in the summer. I really liked how David decorated his place, and he kindly had a pot of coffee brewed when I got up. I would return.

  • Staying at the LlamaHouse ADK is a MUST! My boyfriend and I were looking to spend a long weekend at Gore skiing and David's place exceeded all expectations! The whole house is incredibly cozy with tons of lovely design touches - including hand crafted massive beds all kept immaculately. David is also an exceptional host! He kept a fire going, had incredibly helpful tips on navigating Weaverton and Gore, he provided a delicious breakfast for the crew staying there, opened up his kitchen for us to cook at night and generally created a fun, relaxing environment where we could all chat and socialize with other guests. The LlamaHouse is a total gem - if you are even thinking of booking here DO IT! You'll be so happy! We will for sure be back!

  • This is a great cabin in a great location. Secluded enough, but not a far drive from 2 different towns and tons of great hikes. We were able to go to a couple breweries not far from the cabin at all. Warm radiators in our room kept us comfortable in the chilly nights. Great communication from David who gave us perfect recommendations. Highly recommend.

  • The breathtaking view from every room is worth every penny, the tranquility and the coziness of the cabin was everything we hoped for and more to say the least. Lisa and Edward took the time to explain every detail to make sure our stay was that much more comfortable. It’s a bit remote, so be sure to bring your own groceries as the stores around aren’t as great. We realized we had forgotten a few things for lunch but to our surprise (and relieve) there was a pantry full of essentials for our convenience and a well equipped kitchen. The stove was a bit of a struggle and tricky to use but we got the hang of it after a few tries. Overall, we had a great vacation and encourage you to look no further :)

    Pamela2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to rest and relax. Lisa is a great host. Loved the cabin, so cute and has everything you need. We especially loved canoeing on the lake at dusk.

    Jemma2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home on a small lake is absolute perfection. The home is beautifully decorated and filled with everything you could possibly want for your stay from the kitchen and bathrooms to the books, games, and kayaks. It is the gem that you want to rave about but don’t want too many people to know about so you will hopefully be able to get a reservation in the future. You will want to come back!

    Paula2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a quintessential Adirondack experience. The cabin location, views from within, and amazing vintage decor makes Lisa's cabin on Beaver Pond a destination, activity, and attraction in an of itself! Highly recommend and searching the calendar for a future visit.

    Doug2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous! The views were stunning, the house was beautifully decorated, and everything you'd need was right at hand (kayaks, s'mores, cooking supplies). Lisa was a wonderful host and had thoughtful recommendations and tips throughout. It was a perfect place to get away and decompress. As soon as we got there we were thinking about when we could come back. An absolute gem!

Also love the decorations! Very close to Gore mountain and if xc is more your style, Garnet Hill, which is where we went. Grocery store and a Stewart’s about 5 min away and very close to the highway. Very nice and quiet too. We have had experiences in the past where we needed ear plugs to sleep well. Here was nice and quiet! Oh and there is Netflix too :) Highly recommend!

  • Top notch hospitality during the entire stay!! From the moment we arrived until we left we were very impressed with the thought and detail that was invested. The easiest/smoothest check-in process of any air bnb stay. Reese built a fire and had wood ready when we arrived. The cabin was EXTREMELY clean and cozy. • Immaculate cabin. Very well maintained and kept. Such a bargain too. Location is perfect for where we usually explore the ADKs and back off main road for minimal road noise. Thank you!

  • Reese's place was much better than expected! We had an awesome fire and a movie. Would definitely stay again in this beautiful area of upper NY state!

  • My wife and I had an amazing time staying at Reese’s little cottage in the woods. It was very peaceful, Reese and friends were very nice and fun. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Reese had plenty of firewood cut for a fire which is right outside of the cottage. My wife and I will definitely be staying here again if we are in the area! So do yourself a favor and stay at Reese’s cottage for some relaxing and calming experience in the woods!

    Mike2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Reese was a perfect host! He was ready with suggestions for restaurants and local sites to see. Any time we had a question or concern his response was immediate. The cabin was comfortable and cozy! A real treat was the campfire ready and waiting! This was a perfect cottage for a weekend in the Adirondacks!

Dizzying views of the Hudson River! Sweet cabin modest in scale, simple and pure to not detract from the richness of the views, offering a fresh, invigorating sense of “just what is needed, nothing more.” The cabin was designed and hand crafted by its owner in 2017. The rugged primitive siding was harvested from on-site cedar trees; the knotty pine interior was locally sourced. Friends gifted a claw foot tub and historic farm house sink. Enjoy a hot tub experience in our new Japanese spa!
The living room offers incredible views of the Hudson River and the meadow below. There are leaded glass windows in the bay window, a large comfortable vintage sofa and simple decorations. The bedroom offers a queen bed with duvet covers and beautiful east facing views of the Hudson River. There is an antique vanity with vessel sink, antique oriental rugs and Asian artwork. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with shower hoop and glass vessel sink. There is plenty of hot water, towels and soap. The kitchen is fully stocked with stove, fridge, microwave and sink. There are beautiful copper pans to cook with, plates, glasses and silverware. This beautiful cabin is located hundreds of feet above the Hudson River and offers dizzying views and great privacy. The cabin is not set a top the highest point of the land, where it would be fully exposed, but partway down, allowing the woods behind to form privacy and to shelter the house. Gaze out at the wildness of the site from a sheltered spot. Enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River, a cedar forest and wildflower meadow. There is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. We provide dry firewood and kindling for our guests. Stargazing at night is amazing as there is no light pollution. Enjoy a hot tub experience! Built within a beautiful Japanese temple-like structure on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our all natural no-chemical hot tub is a delightful way to start your morning, relax after hiking or winding down after dinner. Available for a private experience for $25 for an hour of wonderful relaxation. Let us know if you would like to book. Join us for wood-fired pizza! On the upper portion of our land off Cemetery Road, we have a wood fired pizza oven. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. From six to seven-thirty, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Requested of donation of $8 ($5 for children) for firewood, dough and maintenance, please. Let us know if you plan to join us. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, nearby lakes and the Hudson River to swim, bathe or fish in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color. As for things to do in the area, there is white water rafting in the beautiful clean Hudson River right at the bottom of our hill offered by various kayaking companies, hiking spots galore, a nearby gorgeous completely undeveloped lake called 13th Lake, dining in North Creek or nearby Garnet Hill Lodge and great daytrips to nearby Lake George, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Placid and such. A great deal of thought and energy went into planning this cabin. Like a tree grabbing a roothold in the slope, reaching down for water and minerals and arching up toward the available sunlight, a house must begin and grow from its site. When the design of a house has grown out of the uniqueness of the site, it will seem as natural and as integral a part of the whole as trees are a part of the forest. When the house becomes a part of the land, the site can be fully inhabited. This property is located at the end of a quiet country road and abuts forty acres of land owned by your host where we offer glamping tents and two other cabins. Please take a look at these listings and reviews to get a better sense of what we offer. The property is an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. If you arrive late, the house will be unlocked and lights on for you. MORE HISTORY: Since 1910, my family has owned 8 acres of land on the upper part of the land. When my great-grandparents built the original camp (Bird Camp), there were gorgeous views looking all the way down to the Hudson River. Then when people stopped owning grazing animals, and as it then became expensive to keep the meadows mowed, the trees grew up and the views were all lost. When 32 acres of land below us became available several years ago, with financial help from my brother, I purchased the land and over several winters, I had the property strategically logged to open up again the beautiful south and east facing views of Gore Mountain, Moxon Mountain and the Hudson River below. Originally I intended to return to my former business life I'd led downstate and to build vacation homes for sale. As things have worked out, my plan now is to build simple beautiful rental cabins and retain the property for retirement income, and so that I might leave an income producing estate to my daughters. I had an amazing winter of 2016 and 2017 building this camp. By December, the framers had completed the structure, the windows were in and I was able to keep warm with temporary heat all winter as I spent months happily finishing the inside of the "camp."
Camp HudsonView is located at end of a road which comes through a quiet existing neighborhood. Please drive slowly.
  • The cabin is spacious for two people, with everything you could possibly need for a great weekend. The view from behind the cabin where the firepit is even more beautiful than the pictures. Leslie was great at communicating with us, and brought us more campfire supplies when we needed it. We loved our stay!

    Rebecca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is amazing. The beauty outside is matched by the shabby chic/cabin and decor. Was surprised how close the neighboring cabin was, but it was so quiet it didn't matter. And, what a perfect place to step away from the chaos of every day life. Perfect getaway for adults, and dog approved too! Hosts made everything easy. Peaceful, soul cleansing...just perfect.

    Carey2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and cozy beds. Perfect to visit during fall.

    Myra2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a wonderful host. We had car trouble the first morning we were there and Leslie came right down to help us out. Yummy pizza and adorable dog! The cabin had a stunning view and the hot tub was very relaxing. Only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights.

    Shannon2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Magical and beautiful. So happy I got to stay here in the perfect fall weather right when the leaves change. I would LOVE to stay here again and recommend this place to all friends.

    Nicole2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect all around for a peaceful, woodsy-vibe getaway. Hudson Rviver, Hiking, great amenities... Leslie is a wonderful host!

    Allie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for somewhere to take in the Adirondacks look no further! Our cabin was perfectly situated with a stunning view of the Hudson River out our windows. The cabin was perfectly outfitted with everything we needed, including our own bonfire pit and overlooking the ‘Dacks with plenty of wood. While food in the area is less than expected, turns out you don’t need to go ANYWHERE for dinner at all. Leslie makes the most delicious pizzas in her homemade wood fired oven. Just remember to pick up a few choice ingredients to throw on when you are heading in and you’ll be all set! (We brought cherry tomatoes, broccoli rapini, fresh dill, and peppers 🤙🏻) Last but not least it’s a must to reserve the Cedar Spa after a day of hiking. Nothing feels better than slipping into the warm water and letting it all melt away! Such a lovely place to stay in a beautiful setting with a fantastic host. Wouldn’t pass it up!

    Juliann2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! My husband and I enjoyed our getaway more than I can say. It is so hard to find dog-friendly stays and Leslie was accommodating!

  • We had a great time!!! The space is wonderful, we came up for a ski trip and got rained out the first day, but boy were we happy to be at Christines place. Super spacious, our group was myself and my partner and my cousin and her husband. There was plenty of space to spread out. Really liked this place and would definitely go back!

    Krista2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Christines home exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful and spotless. She was a great and generous host, and was quick to respond throughout the weekend! Her home provided a perfect getaway for a group to relax and breath some fresh air in a cozy home away from home.

  • This is a perfect place for a weekend of skiing. Just a few minutes to Gore. Lizzy’s downstairs was a great place for coffee and breakfast. Everything is very clean. My son and I will return here next year when we come back up for skiing.

  • Great little place to getaway to for a weekend at Gore. Things we loved about Kathy's place: it was clean - it was close to a grocery/liquor store - close to many restaurants of different styles and cuisines. Our favorite was the breakfast at Izzy's just downstairs from the apartment. - a great big jacuzzi tub to enjoy after a day on the slopes. Can't wait to get back!

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely pleasant host. She Runs coffee shop on 1st floor so interacted a few times with host. Solid spot, great for Gore.

    Peter2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s place is great. So convenient to Gore mountain as it was only 5 min away. Unfortunately her deli was closed the days we stayed. It’s a cure little town. There are a few diner spots within walking and a supermarket right across the street. The hot tub was a great touch and was great after day of skiing !! We’ll be back.

    Rebecca2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy was a great host! Unfortunately we never met Kathy in person, however we did meet her husband, who was very nice and happy to hear we were enjoying our stay. Me and another friend from college traveled up from North NJ for a ski trip. We went to Gore Mountain which was at most 5 minutes away the BnB. The room itself was great, its a good bang for your buck, especially for college students staying here, or anyone who's looking for a room near Gore Mountain at a good price. Directions were pretty clear for the most part, took us about 4 hours to get there, had no troubles getting there. The location of her place is fantastic, it is located in the business district, there was a pharmacy next to us, a deli below, a grocery store across the street and plenty of restaurants nearby. We checked in Monday night and checked out Friday morning. It was pretty quiet, nothing bothered us, we would be leaving the room by 8 am to hit the mountain anyway, and the deli wasn't opened yet. Friday morning after checkout we grabbed some breakfast from the deli downstairs, got to say they have pretty good breakfast sandwiches! Overall it was a great trip, well worth it. I would recommend Kathy's place especially to college students who are planning a trip to Gore Mountain, or anywhere in that area of the Adirondacks.

    Jason2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very clean and well equipped for a short stay, the sofa bed is so comfortable. Amazing neighborhood, very close to Gore Mountain. A very kind host!

    Fasya2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for gore mountain. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Good food downstairs at izzys also!

    Dan2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hudson Heights. We had everything we needed for a great weekend of fall activities! The place is very clean, the sheets were so soft, and the cookies left for us were a pleasant surprise! Jet tub and shower were great, bathroom is quite large. Extra sheets, blankets and pillows were left for the futon, which our kids slept on. Small fridge, microwave, toaster, and Keurig came in handy! There is a Tops grocery store across the street that was very convenient. We had lots of face time with Kathy and her husband, as they run the deli/cafe downstairs, which we visited often. They are both super nice and gave us great tips and recommendations of things to do in the area. Their food is amazing and we ate breakfast there every morning and lunch one day too. Cookies and baked goods are not to be missed! We did Revolution Rail bikes (within walking distance) and it was an incredible experience! We also drove Prospect Mountain, hiked the Pinnacle Trail in Bolton Landing, enjoyed Harvest Fest at Gore Mountain, and spent a day exploring the village of Lake George/doing the boat cruise. All in all, a wonderful Airbnb experience and a great home base for our fall activity adventures!

Ted was quick to respond and we had no issues with the space. Would highly recommend this space if you are looking to stay in this part of the Adirondacks.

    Kirsi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ted’s place was perfect for us and 2 small children. It was very clean and comfortable and we loved the little touches Ted added- drinks in the fridge, candy, use of roku. Unprompted, he even added a baby gate for us before we arrived to ensure the safety of our toddler. Great stay!

  • What a great 3 night stay we just had. Extremely clean! Well appointed kitchen. Great restaurant within walking distance. Beautiful 20 min drive to Gore Mt. We hope to be back next year for more great skiing!

    Tamara2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ted sorted out a couple potential issues (entry to the house and connection to wifi) quickly and conscientiously. We particularly appreciated all the thoughtful touches in the space...beautifully decorated and a very well stocked kitchen including a coffee grinder which I was devastated that I had forgotten. We liked the small town atmosphere as well, amidst some gorgeous, frozen forests. All in all, a great visit!

  • Fantastic cabin. It's cute and cozy. Had no problem keeping the cabin warm during low 20s. Great value and straight forward pet policy. Everything was clean and comfy. Wifi/internet service is typical Adirondack experience from Frontier - expect about 2Mb/s down and a trickle back up.

    Simon2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay in this cabin. It is well-appointed, clean, and a convenient spot for enjoying the area. The cabin stays nice and warm in the winter. The on-site manager, Dick is ready to help if needed while being respectful of privacy. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

    Bonnie2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • These cabins are exactly what an escape from the city life looks like - quiet, serene, intimate, warm, and cozy. In reality the cabin is even better than the pictures, which don't do justice to the beauty of the space. The weather for our stay, even though ideal with snow outside our windows, caused a couple power outages - but nothing a warm fire and a flashlight could not fix! Even though the power was intermittent, the hosts kept us up to date with details on when it would be back. There is a cozy little town - North Creek - 5 miles away that has some great food options, especially Izzy's Deli which has GREAT sandwiches. New year's Eve was spent at The Barking Spider - a great ski dive bar with affordable drinks and a lively atmosphere.

    Rachit2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • This was a nice space with many extra touches (apple trees, fountain, outdoor fireplace, outdoor table and TV, beautiful view). Very relaxing scenery at a good price.

Lovingly restored historic Adirondack Bird Camp is surrounded by wildflower meadows with beautiful mountain views. Located on family compound of glamping tents and unique cabins. Wildflower meadows to wander, a private firepit for star gazing and just down the road from beautiful 13th Lake. Enjoy a hot tub experience (summers only) in our new Japanese temple-like spa! Most nights in summer we offer wood-fired pizza. Close to rail biking, whitewater rafting and the town of North Creek.
Lovingly restored by the great-granddaughter of the original owners, this unique historic cabin still retains many original details and decorations. Many visitors say they feel like they’re stepping back in time. There are lovely leaded glass windows, a handsome rustic stone fireplace, richly stained wood walls, beautifully faded oriental rugs and original china. There is a tidy new country kitchen with reclaimed porcelain sink, new gas stove, fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils. Upstairs are two bedrooms each with a double bed, wide pine floors, and country décor. And at last --- after 100 years of our relatives using an outside “privy” back when this was just a summer “camp”, we have a bathroom -- clawfoot tub with shower hoop and beautiful vessel sink on original ladies wash vanity. Towels and soaps provided. The bathroom window offers the best view of the mountains. There are treasured family hand-me-downs as well as odds and ends which nobody felt comfortable throwing away. Like all family camps, there are bits and pieces of everyone who came before; wooden floors record the scuffs and scratches of generations. There are many photographs showing life at “camp” since the turn of the century. All this gives this Adirondack cottage its own special personality, a unique sense of space --- a treasury of feelings, sensations and memories of family and friends. The house sleeps four to six comfortably: there are two bedrooms each with double beds. On the glassed in porch is a single bed and there is a sofa in the living room. The land is truly spectacular. In summer, wildflower meadows spill down the hill, flanked by beautiful forests. We welcome your well-behaved dog as long as he or she stays OFF the furniture, isn't left alone in the house and stays on leash to protect our chickens and ducks. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our little mountain. In the spring, summer and fall, there is white water rafting for reasonable rates. You can also rent a tube and float down river (the nearby rafting company can rent you the tubes, then pick you up and then bring you back). Of course, the river offers fishing, bathing or just a great place to sit by and think. We have a happy lab dog Sammy who enjoys spending time with our guests. We have free ranging chickens (get some eggs from the henhouse) and sweet waddling ducks. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. So make time to get away! It’s an easy scenic drive from NYC --- just go north right up Route 87, get off just past Lake George and then a beautiful 30 miles through the mountains to our place. If this cabin is booked, take a look at our cabins and glamping tents.
We have about 40 acres of land, much of cleared with amazing views, also pristine woods, a spring fed pond. There are several cottages on our property for rent and we can accommodate larger groups. We call ourselves the North River Hobby Farm. The area is very safe ... no bears, no weird neighbors and no ghosts in the historic cemetery next door.
  • A wonderful experience. Quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. Loved the claw foot tub, the bed was comfy and the fireplace is charming and was fully stocked with wood. It was raining so I didn’t spend time outside, but the grill and outdoor fire looked like it would have been great. And I LOVED the Japanese hot tub. Definitely book it each night you stay. Fabulous!

  • Great place!

    Ken2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cabin in a beautiful, quiet setting. Leslie is a fantastic and interesting host and she makes a great pizza. Lots to do nearby, you are not far from hiking or kayaking. Cabin is clean, and genuinely rustic. Lots of old family photos, books, board games and VHS tapes to keep you occupied if you don’t want to be outside. And probably more importantly, no cellular (Verizon) service so you can actually unplug and relax for once. My wife and I had a great time and will definitely return.

    Jason2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very much off the beaten path, and that was the best part. At night you could see every star in the sky. The personal touches with the original pictures being in the house were really interesting. The property is beautiful, and I really hope to stay again someday.

    Courtney2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Magical location. Great mix of private space with easy access to some really special shared amenities. The Japanese hot tub and pizza oven were both especially memorable. My young daughter loved feeding our food scraps to the friendly roaming chickens. Located within close diving distance to lots of outdoor adventures. A real retreat and escape from City living. A summer highlight!

    Karen2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun experience somewhere between camping and staying in an inn/hotel. Leslie's Hobby Farm is a real delightful place. We stayed in Bird Cabin one night, then Glamp Bernice the next. Both were unique and enjoyable, but I think we preferred the tent! We enjoyed (more than we expected) meeting the other guests, sharing pizza toppings and wine, sitting by the fire making s'mores, sleeping in the tents (or cabins) on a cool evening, and the beautiful setting of the farm. A highlight was waking up at 1 am and sitting out under the brilliant night sky, seeing the milky way and shooting stars. Kayaking at 13th Lake was also a highlight. Leslie and Emmeline think of everything and make the stay an enjoyable experience for everyone. We were even sent home with lavender bags and fresh peaches! We'll definitely be back. August 2019

    Sharon2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet spot with a beautiful pollinator field filled brimming with activity.

    Michael2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie's farm and the Camp Bird house we rented provided our family of 4 a home away from home. Our girls loved Sammie and the chickens. Pizza was delicious. Hot tub superb. Leslie is an easygoing and highly responsive host. Camp Bird provided us with just enough privacy and utter Adirondacks quiet that my wife and I needed. Day trips to Revolution Rail, 13th Lake for canoeing and swimming, Garnet Hill Lodge for dinner, North Creek for town items, Schroon Lake for beach time, and Adirondacks Extreme for tree climbing obstacle courses were easy.

  • Our stay at Vasili’s place was amazing! Such a beautiful location and an awesome space. Our favorite part was the fireplace and how close it was to Gore Mt for a day of skiing. Vasili was super easy to communicate with which is always a plus - highly recommended!

  • We just got home from 3 nights staying at the cabin and my husband, myself and our 1 year old Golden Retriever, Yankee, had a wonderful time! It was the PERFECT relaxing/cozy getaway that we were looking for. Living in Central Jersey we’ve been skimped on snow for the past few years so it was nice to have plenty around us! (yankee had a blast as it was her first real snow to play in) The cabin windows provided the beautiful views of the snowy grounds surrounding us and the fireplace made it super cozy. We did not go snowboarding this year (as I am pregnant) but the location to Gore could not be any better if you’re looking to get on the mountain. We really enjoyed the beautiful cozy cabin and will definitely be back !

    Julie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin worked out great us and our dog children! The kitchen, bathroom and main room with fireplace are cabin cozy! We loved not having TV-but having WiFi. Check in and out were a breeze, communication with the owner was great, the driveway address is well marked. Nice welcome letter with great tip to where to get more firewood. Awesome proximity to Gore!

  • Lin hosts the PERFECT rustic and cozy pine-cabin experience with heaps of hospitality!

    Paige2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It is easy to see why Lin has been rated a 'super host'. You could not fault her airbnb and the care she takes to look after her guests. She has a great deal of local knowledge and a passionate commitment to the beautiful Adirondacks, the spirit of which she captures within her 'camp'. The building was one familiar to be having spent summers 60 ago just a short walk away. The neighbourhood kids all hung out together, including the original owners of Lin's place. So it was a marvellous walk down memory lane. So Lin, thanks for the hospitality extended to my nephew. I wholeheartedly recommend Lin's airbnb as comfy accomodation in North River to anyone seeking a real Adirondack experience.

  • Due to the extenuating circumstances of COVID-19, we were unfortunately unable to stay at Elaine's place. Throughout the processes she was quick to respond, understanding and accommodating. We were devastated that our trip had to be cancelled and were really looking forward to our stay. I hope we will have another opportunity to visit Elaine's seemingly charming home in the future! We thank her again for her understanding!

    Andrew2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 3 night stay. We easily navigated the area to enjoy snowmobiling and all the local winter beauty. The house is very nice. We loved the wood burning stove and hung around that room at night. It’s very convenient that the entrance is a full mud room with washer and dryer. After trekking outdoors, it was so easy to get off our wet boots and clothes without tracking it in the house. Elaine communicated with us to make sure everything went smooth.

    Cynthia2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Elaine's. It was very clean and cute, she was very attentive, and the location was excellent, just 5 minutes to Gore. We would love to come back!

    Juliette2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don’t do this place justice. Much loved, warm and cozy home. Elaine made sure check-in was smooth and even left some blueberry muffins for breakfast, knowing we were coming in late. Wood stove kept the whole place warm and the living room was a great place to relax apres ski. Space was exactly what we were looking for and the hospitality exceeded all expectations. Will definitely visit again.

    Corey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The school house was immaculate clean. Elaine and Dave were lovely. They came over and shoveled while we were out skiing and left wood on the porch so thoughtful. We would highly suggest this cozy little getaway to anyone.

  • This house was so adorable and homey. When my friends and I arrived (even in the dark) we were immediately impressed. The land it is on is also beautiful and there's a small babbling brook nearby to add to the charm. Almost everything was provided - spices, coffee, utensils and pots and pans, and some condiments in the fridge. The owner is also very responsive, and we were allowed to bring our dog. Would recommend this place for sure

  • This place is great. Nestled in the woods above Austin Pond about 5 minutes from Gore. Clean and comfortable. Cell service is definitely an issue and the WiFi gets spotty when more than a few people are on it. I definitely suggest printing off the directions and all details about the listing before you go because you may not have access to the app when there. Snack basket on the counter was a nice touch. • This was the perfect ADK cabin to relax in for the days my son skied Gore. The WiFi worked perfectly to connect my ‘Google Home’ to music while the fire warmed, soothed, and comforted body/mind/soul. (Bring wood or purchase at Stewart’s for the best deal). The kitchen is beautiful and stocked well with everything you need to prepare meals. Basil & Wick’s restaurant 5 mins away didn’t disappoint...esp when we discovered they had Vermont’s Fiddlehead IPA on tap...Wink! Thank you to our host Vasili for his exceptional communication during the power outage prior to my arrival, and to Dick the property manager for his friendly demeanor and superb care.

  • My boyfriend and I enjoyed staying here. Teresa was kind enough to help us when we needed it and the place has nice touches to make you feel at home.

  • We had such a lovely time! This cabin was an idyllic stay for our cozy ski weekend and there were so many thoughtful touches. We would definitely stay again.

  • Darling house in a great location! Teresa was wonderful to work with, providing us with directions on how everything worked in the house and even surprising us with a thoughtful basket of goodies. The house was clean and well stocked with all the basics. We would definitely stay again!

  • This cozy little place just 15 minutes from Gore and has internet and a smart TV (rare near Gore!). Plenty of kitchen amenities plus a washer/dryer for those ski socks! Water pressure in the shower is really low, but it's a quaint little cabin in Minevera - what were you expecting! :) Teresa, our host, was absolutely fantastic. I've stayed in the lodges in North Creek, and I'd pick this over those any day. Thanks!

    Ryan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect location to Gore Mt. approximately 8-10 mins. Washer and dryer was great touch to clean/dry gear. Size was perfect for us -2 bed 1 bath. Good size kitchen / dining area/ living room. Teresa left coffee & breakfast snacks which was perfect. The wifi and smart Tv was great to relax after a day of shredding. This is a pretty good ski cabin. Price is great.

  • This place is really special; it’s like stepping into a well-lived life in a small and historic Adirondack town. Olmstedville is quiet in winter, and a great base for outdoor fun in any season. The house beautifully furnished and comfortable but not cluttered. The kitchen is well-equipped, with good pots and pans, sharp knives, and all of the supplies you need to actually cook. Teresa left fresh snacks in the fridge as well. She gave great directions and responded patiently and promptly to my questions. In all, a wonderful host of a place to which I’d gladly return.

    Joan2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot!

  • Theresa's house was charming and cozy, and she was a great host and very responsive. We loved the house, and it was very close to skiing!

The house is very well stocked with kitchen utensils making it easy to cook your own meals during your stay. There was also a good selection of spices to cook with. The host is very quick to respond with any questions and concerns. Overall a great stay and I would highly recommend!

  • Great place to stay while hitting the slopes at Gore! Clean with all amenities included. If you want to cook, however, know that there is no basic cooking ingredients (salt, pepper, oil) so make sure to stop by the grocery store.

    Bethany2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and convenient to local mountains for skiing. We had a great time.

    Barry2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice living area with plenty of places for guests to sleep. It has an older wood floor in the living and kitchen areas that is very squeaky (as to be expected with this type of floor after years of use). It made it difficult to be quiet for others still sleeping in the bedrooms attached to that area. Kitchen had decent pans to use for breakfast with a standard coffee maker and microwave. Lakefront is located in a three minute drive up the road. Nice area for a trip on the lake or a camp fire. Good location close to a lot of great hikes. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for a quiet vacation.

    Judy2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with my wife here. The place is clean and has a lot of amenities. Great hospitality, and a lot of useful tips for the location. Also its very nice that this place has a private dock and canoes and kayaks that we can use, you have to drive there a couple minutes, but thats ok.

    Oleg2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roomy, comfortable, complete kitchen set-up. Close to assorted Adk peaks and waters, also many restaurants nearby. A good value.

    Richard2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment close to hiking and the water. Everything worked and made for a nice relaxing weekend.

    Brennan2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Lily Pad North was bright and clean. We enjoyed the small deck and grill, and a peek at the lake through the trees. Nice amenities for people traveling with a baby or small child (we were not but remember those days well!)

  • We took a quick snowmobile trip and found visiting with Lin a wonderful bonus. So gracious!

    John2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lin's place is an authentic Adirondack cabin...which is exactly what we were looking for. It is warm, cozy and welcoming. Lin is equally as warm and welcoming and makes a great host. Although Lin's place is a great value, it is eclipsed by what Lin brings to the table as a host. We had a great time and highly recommend her and her home. Ann & Jim Gedney

  • Lin’s cabin is warm and cozy and just what we expected and wanted for our ski weekend at Gore mountain. Lin is a gracious, well traveled and warm host who is a great conversationalist and who creates a welcoming and relaxed vibe for her guests. I highly recommend staying at her place. We can’t wait to come back and check out the area in summer!

  • Amazing host, a fire place, snow . One of my favorite stay

    Nicolas2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lin was probably the most hospitable airbnb host we have ever had. She welcomed us into her home like we were cousins that haven’t seen each other in a few years. Her dog Rudy was very fun and got along great with our pooch. Her conversations were interesting and exciting. Lin is a very intriguing woman with great stories and insights. The morning breakfast made it hard to leave. We will most definitely be back soon.

  • We were looking for a simple rustic cabin for the whole family to just enjoy the fall. This place was perfect .

    Sean2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - love the water front. A bit dated and small but we spent more time outside then in the house.

    Taylor2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cottage in a nice part of the lake. Very clean, dog friendly, with a great view. It has a nice camp feel to it, small but very functional kitchen, nice bedrooms, very nice living area done in old style pine. Definitely for a smaller group. It does sleep eight but four are bunk beds. It is very nice for kids. Good dock, fire pit and outdoor tables. Two things to know: the driveway is very steep. If you are trailering a boat or have more than one car, there is a parking space up on the road. Best to leave your trailer up there. There is a stone wall rather than a beach but the water is easily accessed from the dock. This is a good find.

Charming Adirondack cabin perfect for romantic or family getaway! Gorgeous mountain views, private and cozy. Located on family compound of glamping tents and unique cabins. Wildflower meadows to wander, firepit for star gazing and just down the road from beautiful 13th Lake. Enjoy a hot tub experience (summers only) in our new Japanese temple-like spa! Most nights in summer we offer wood-fired pizza. Close to rail biking, whitewater rafting and the town of North Creek.
This adorable cabin offers beautiful mountains views, privacy and a unique space. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, swimming in the nearby 13th Lake, whitewater rafting in the Hudson River at the bottom of our hill and wildflower meadows to wander in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color. LAYOUT: The living room is charming with antique beam ceiling, leaded glass windows and whimsical décor. The full kitchen offers everything you need to cook and dine in style with a bank of windows soaking in the south facing views of Gore Mountain. There is a nice bathroom with shower, a queen bed in the loft and a single bed in an alcove off the living room. Outside are tables by the firepit where you will find dry firewood and kindling, a grill and a wildflower meadow. AMENITIES: Enjoy a hot tub experience! We have a happy lab dog Sammy who enjoys spending time with our guests. We have free ranging chickens (get some eggs from the henhouse) and sweet waddling ducks. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. LOCATION: We are nearby the popular Revolution Rail for rail biking, and there are numerous whitewater rafting companies right at the bottom of our hill. We are an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. We’re five miles from the charming little town of North Creek, a half hour from Lake George and an hour and a half northwest of Albany. Surrounded by meadows and gardens, located on family compound of historic cottages and four glamping tents, this beautiful property offers privacy, comfort and 40 acres of gorgeous land with walking trails. If this listing is booked, take a look at Camp HudsonView, Bird Camp or Camp TwoSome … each unique in its own way and spectacular views. We also have four glamping tents: Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Thomas and Glamp Bernice.
North River is such a beautiful, wonderful place! Picturesque, romantic, Adirondacks at its best ... People are always amazed at how beautiful our family property is ... I am very blessed to own this place, and enjoy sharing it with others.

  • Staying at one of Leslie's cottages or tents is like being part of a loving and fun community. The spaces are delightful, the location and views stunning. Pizza is a bonus, as is the Japanese tub. Excellent for a hiking trip, kayaking, fishing or just to get away and be in peace and quiet.

  • My friends and I were traveling South from Montreal and were lucky to stumble upon this cabin. Leslie and Emeline are very communicative and hospitable. They provided great tips and we had a great stay. Would book again.

  • Beautiful setting. The cottage is simple but comfortable and tasteful. Leslie is a friendly and knowledgeable host. We enjoyed the pizzas from her wood fired oven and meeting other guests. The entire place has a warm and welcoming vibe. Would definitely stay again.
