  • Carol and Marty live on a beautiful secluded property. Note: it’s a property with 7 private cabins (can’t hear other guests though) with a shared lounge room + hot tub. Plus fresh cinnamon buns in the morning?! Yummmm! We will definitely be back for a visit!

  • Place was awesome and clean and very relaxing .

  • The Robert Frost Mountain Cabin was an amazing vacation. Carol & Marty and staff responded to our every question and offered great suggestions for places to go. They were always willing to stop whatever they were doing to chat with us about anything. The cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed. The Loft is a nice area where you could meet up with people from other cabins, and enjoy some coffee. It also had snowshoes, sleds, a hot tub, and fire pit. Marty was out there plowing snow constantly, so we were safe. They had YakTrax to put on our boots so we didn’t slip on the snow and ice. Carol even offered jackets if we needed them. There was a nice trail that surrounded the area, and it was well marked. The whole area was beautiful, and very well maintained. This is definitely the best AirBnB we have ever stayed at.

  • My girlfriend and I had such an amazing time at one of Carol and Marty's cabins. It was a breath of fresh air being able to relax in the robert frost mountains. Our dog luna had a blast exploring the property and running the trails with us under a snow covered canopy! We will be back sooner than later to unwind and relax!

  • Had a great stay at Elizabeth's and definitely recommend it!

  • Beautiful getaway in the Green Mountains. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you've found your place.

  • Great stay! Comfortable and convenient!

    Olivia2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's Magical Mountain Pond House was exactly that, magical. I planned a sweet little Vermont getaway as a Christmas Gift for my boyfriend- and it turned out to be even better than I expected, thanks to this adorable house. When arriving to the house I wasn't greeted by anyone, but I didn't mind because Elizabeth was in contact days before, and gave clear specific instructions on how to let myself in. I love that we were able to park in the driveway. Elizabeth was not home during our stay, but once again I did not mind this. We had incredible privacy, and didn't feel awkward by an overbearing host as you can feel at most airbnbs. The house was sparkling clean, nicely decorated with homey touches, and had tons of space. The living room can feel a little small because of it's triangular shape, but it's still very spacious and cozy. The home also has a mini fridge and microwave, but NO STOVE or full kitchen. (No worries/Easy Fix) I'm so happy I read the reviews ahead of time because I ended up purchasing a portable electronic hot plate. I packed my own groceries and dishes and was able to prepare my own meals. BEWARE cell service is non-existent (so load all directions ahead of time). Once again I did not mind this because Elizabeth gave me an honest heads up, and with the beautiful stars and scenery surrounding the house you would completely forget about needing a signal. In terms of wifi it only works in the bedroom, the bathroom and the room in-between. THINGS TO DO The tree house is super cool, but be careful climbing, if it has rained and it is cold the ladder can become slippery. Also check out some of the airbnb experiences. My boyfriend and I did pottery, milked some cows, fed some lambs, and did a cooking class. We loved every last experience and every last moment in the house. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Vermont! :) Morriah

  • If you like to be in nature, this is the place for you. Quiet and beautiful.

    Robert2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place place was just as cozy as the pictures suggested, the grounds are picturesque and we enjoyed a night with a small bonfire by the private pond. The house was clean and well-stocked as described, cute decor and tasteful design. This was a great deal and we had an excellent time!

    Andrey2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our space was so nicely decorated and the hosts are available at the dial of a phone or text. We loved our stay--looking for frogs in the pond, photographing butterflies in the flowering blooms, climbing into the tree house. It was so close to all that the Champlain Valley has to offer... and smack up to the Green Mountain National Forest. Perfect for our amateur hikes.

  • My family and I loved staying at Cabin #4. Everything was super clean, the cinnamon twists were delicious and we would definitely come back here again! Thank you Carol & Marty!

    Andrew2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins are so beautifully built and they have such a rustic but cozy feeling! The view from the hot tub is amazing and we loved to have access to movies and games. Cinnamon twists are delivered to your door, warm and delicious! We found to not be so convenient for ski trips, as the drive to Sugarbush was ~50min without snow. 4WD necessary as you will drive on dirt roads for about 20min Definitely want to come back in the fall to explore the hikes!

    Grasiella2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I have nothing but good things to say about Carol and Marty's cabins and property. It was an enchanting and delightful experience. The property was beautiful - there were lots of opportunities for adventures on the space, as well as in the surrounding areas. And I loved the hot tub under the stars! The cabin was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfortable. I hope we get to go back and stay again - this was one of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had!

    Lindsey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely want to come back again next year! Great hosts.

    Victoria2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend these cabins for anyone who wants to take in the quiet tranquility that central Vermont has to offer. The access from the cabins to the green mountain trails is awesome. We only stayed for 2 nights, but could definitely have spent more time unplugged at this quiet and serene setting. Hospitality from Carol & Marty was customized. We have been to dog friendly places, but even our dog Rose felt welcomed here! Carol & Marty truly wanted to be sure that we had a good time and felt welcomed. Hope to be back next year, and make it a tradition!

My house has grown from the home where I grew up, moved away, and returned to raise my family. Now it is an empty nest when I wake each morning to birdsong, looking out at my garden and Breadloaf mountain. I like solitude, but also have good neighbors, and love meeting new people. This room has 2 single beds, and a shared bathroom and Breakfast nook.
You should know that there is no cell-phone service here, but free wi-fi, which I use to access Roku TV (no satellite TV). Pets are negotiable (No cats, please)
Ripton is a very special place, with lots of community spirit and closeness. It is 8 miles from Middlebury College, and 3.5 miles from the Breadloaf School of English, as well as the Rikert outdoor center and the Snow Bowl ski area. There are local hiking trails, and several access points to the Long Trail. We just have one country store, a short walk down hill. we have a folk venue (Ripton Community Coffee house) the first Saturday of every month. There are occasional cultural or educational events at the local church building as well. The best of Ripton is right here in my garden, but Middlebury night life is 8 miles down the scenic Rt 125. Theatre, movie theatre, restaurants, twice weekly farmer's market, restaurants and bars...
  • Wonderful location and pet friendly option for visiting Vermont with easy access to outdoor recreation and town conveniences.

  • It was a real pleasure staying at Bonnie’s place...it was just down the road from the Breadloaf Wilderness. Plus, Bonnie is a real pleasure to talk to and watch a little tv with. It was just like being at home...only, in the Green Mountains.

  • Bonnie and her friendly rescue dog Wanda were great hosts. We felt as though we were staying with family. Place was very comfortable and clean and we will definitely be back again!

  • This place is even more beautiful than the pictures depict! We just loved our time at the School House. The furnishings and woodwork are gorgeous. It was very comfortable with great beds and plenty of linens, dishes, and everything else we could need. It was sparkling clean, and check-in and check-out were a breeze. We appreciated Clover's quick responses to questions we had about things to do in the area. This place is a gem!

    Talon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Everything was clean and the place was cozy. Super convenient to xcountry skiing and short drive to Middlebury. Pro Tip of you are coming in the middle of winter : bring some slippers as the wood floor can get cold in the morning.

    Dima2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely magical little gem of a cottage. Fully stocked and ready for a short or long stay. Big living room with futon, big bathroom, and a big kitchen. Floors are a tad chilly but the wall heater units provide more than enough power to get things toasty, quick. Just all around a great place to stay, and in one of the prettiest areas in the whole state. 10/10

This home has its roots as the first B&B on Robert Frost Mountain. It wasn't built as a B & B, but evolved into one, to accommodate leaf peepers and other folks who wanted to stay in the mountains just outside Middlebury. The home is located about 4 miles up a small mountain on a dirt road. There is no cell service up here, but you are welcome to use the landline to call anywhere in the US. Wifi is excellent! The space consists of a very large bedroom with king bed, sitting area with couch, and comfy chair and wood burning fireplace. Attached to the bedroom is a study with two desks. Burlington is 45 miles away.
  • Such a wonderful room with comfortable sitting area, great bed, and woodburning fireplace.

  • We stayed here for a long ski weekend to sugarbush and this place exceeded our expectations. Room was super comfy and large and the best part was the fireplace. We loved how the property was secluded and very peaceful, and we also appreciated Lisa’s hospitality. If you are planning to ski at sugarbush note it’s about a 50 minute scenic drive :)

    Lucy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. Lisa is a delightful person and everything was perfect! Lovely, quiet location, delicious breakfast and beautiful gardens.

    Barbara2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, spacious room (formerly the master bedroom) in a well-built home in a peaceful, wooded countryside location. A stream can be heard babbling not far off outside the window. As others mentioned, the room is huge and feels like a suite because of the extra alcoves with desks -- a good workspace that my teenager used for doing her homework. The kingsize bed is comfortable. The huge armchair with ottomon make a great reading chair, and it was an extra treat to use the fireplace. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated, including the bathroom, which as others is said is shared with another lodger but you would never know it. Lisa was very accommodating -- about arrival & departure times, bringing our dog, and such --- and bakes awesome chocolate chip cookies! Great spot for a peaceful getaway. I would definitely choose it again.

    Lauren2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is such a great host! Very responsive, nice extra touches, thorough details. The location is so relaxing, and I loved falling asleep in the super comfy bed to the sounds of a nearby stream. Stayed here the night before the Middlebury Maple Run; convenient easy drive to the town/college.

    Ben2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • as listed

    Elizabeth2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very much enjoyed staying with Lisa during a weekend trip to Sugarbush. Her home is peaceful and the room is a cozy retreat, complete with the fireplace. Lisa’s breakfasts were delicious.

    Maxx2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom is much bigger than the picture shows. There is an additional room behind the wall where the bed is. There are a couple of desks in that room and Lisa has plenty of brochures for all the activities in the area. The bathroom is just outside the bedroom door. Everything was very clean. Lisa is very down to earth and anything you need she is very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again!!

Located at the junction of the Green Mountains and the Champlain Valley, this quiet space sits on 70 forested acres. A quick drive to Brandon, Middlebury College, Lake Dunmore, and the Green Mountain National Forest, this is the perfect home base. Enjoy nature in this secluded space and discover what Addison County has to offer from an easy to access location. Explore nearby lakes and plenty of trails, and events and culture are just down the road.
Spring and summer in Vermont are truly glorious. The cabin was built as a hunting camp by a logging firm that harvested timber here. We have built our home on the property and updated the cabin with plenty of amenities. The cabin is a nice balance of rustic, cozy, and comfortable, and we take pride in the beauty of this place.
Plenty to do nearby! Rutland and Middlebury Farmers' Markets, Wood's Garden Market, Champlain and Douglas Orchards, Falls of Lana, Silver Lake, Branbury State Park, Goshen Dam, shops and restaurants in Middlebury and Brandon, Rutland's Paramount Theater, Cattails Restaurant, Texas Falls, Route 100 Scenic Highway, Mount Independence Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga, rivers and mountains galore! Still a working forest, the property is home to a plethora of wildlife, hosting two beaver dams and a designated deer wintering area. There are some trails here on the property, and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. Enjoy colorful sunsets as herons, ducks, and geese fly in for the evening, or spend the evening out in the cultural centers of Brandon or Middlebury. Bring, rent or borrow a boat and spend the day at nearby Lake Dunmore, Fern Lake, or Sugar Hill Reservoir; make the stunning 1 hour drive up to Burlington for the day for cool shops and great restaurants; or pick fresh Vermont fruits and berries with views of Lake Champlain. The Moosalamoo Recreation area is right in our backyard. There is so much to do around here, you may not want to leave!
  • This was the perfect cabin for my trip! I absolutely loved it, so much so that I mostly laid in bed and enjoyed the fireplace! Thanks Catie and Mark for the eggs and maple syrup!

    Michele2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time at the cabin! Mark and Catie are fantastic hosts who gave us really great directions for finding them, which we did easily. The location is incredibly peaceful, and we loved seeing the chickens outside the cabin! The cabin is so cosy and sparkling clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen had all the facilities we needed to cook a lovely dinner. The fireplace made the cabin very warm and relaxing too. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast, and the maple syrup left in the kitchen for us was delicious. I couldn’t rate our stay more highly - I would return in a heartbeat!

    Anna2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy and clean and near a lot of great hiking trails. The hosts left plenty of information about stuff to do locally and were very helpful!

    Tammy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy cabin on a beautiful little farm. Perfect for a quintessential New England getaway. Mark and Catie were super hospitable and friendly, we can’t wait to return for another trip!

    Hayley2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin in the woods. It was our first time using the grill and we had no idea what we were doing, but our lovely hosts helped us get the fire going. Chicken came out great btw. Beautiful clean kitchen, spotless bathroom, trendy and homey feeling. The bed was soooo comfortable. Super clean, super private and quiet. Best sleep we've had in a LONG time. They also provided us with a list of places to see and do nearby. Loved this place, will come back!

    Tania2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. Mark and Catie are exceptional hosts and quick to respond. My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at the cabin during our ski trip. The fresh eggs and nice touches within the cabin were fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again soon. Must stay cabin!

    Robert2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay and it was just as great as the first time! This time we had time to walk the trails and visit Mark in his sugarhouse. The thoughtful touches such as the eggs and syrup were much appreciated. We can’t wait to plan our next getaway!

Nestled into a nook next to the junction of Alder Brook and the North Branch of the Middlebury river, this 3 bedroom home has everything you need for a secluded retreat to the Vermont woods. Lots of natural light and rustic woodwork, an open floor plan surrounds a soapstone woodstove with kitchen, living room, dining room and sun room on the first floor and bedrooms upstairs. Steam Hollow is a bit off the beaten path, so be prepared for dirt roads, a long driveway and stairs to climb.
Relax on the screened porch which overlooks the pond or wander the trails through beaver dams and 70 acres of woodlands. Ice skate, ski or snowshoe right on the property in the winter, swim in the pond in the summer. This property is entirely off-grid, with solar panels providing the main electric power. The property is shared with a small cabin (also rented) and is about 3 miles down the road from the Ripton General Store.
Ripton is a small community in the mountains where people pride themselves on living a more rugged existence - helping out their neighbors to get through winter, and other hardships. You should definitely stop in the general store, which is the hub of the community, and if you are in town on the first Saturday of the month, the Ripton Coffee House is a wonderful thing to get to at the Community House. Wander the Robert Frost or Spirit in Nature trails off of Rt 125, on the way up to Middlebury College's Breadloaf campus, where you will find a great nordic ski area, or on up to the Snow Bowl for downhill skiing. The picturesque towns of Bristol and Middlebury are both about 20 minutes away, where you will find great shops and restaurants. A little closer, in East Middlebury, is the Waybury Inn - a wonderful pub and restaurant. Plenty of sugarhouses nearby, as well as some early fall color. Amazing sledding can be found over in Lincoln, and you will find all the hiking, swimming (in incredible rivers and lakes), boating, mountain biking, climbing and adventuring you can ask for all around you!
  • The stay was awesome, the space was so unique and well designed, and we really appreciated all of the sustainability measures. The house is spacious and so fun for teens and adults alike. We wanted for nothing and were very comfortable during our stay. Only 45 min of a beautiful scenic drive to Sugarbush. We definitely hope to return!

    Spencer2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Eric was incredibly communicative and articulate with directions to the property, which made the ride much easier! The property itself is beautiful, and the photos do not do the beauty of this home justice!! There were so many incredibly cool and unique features within the house that you could probably dedicate an entire day to looking at what’s within the house. Look forward to staying again, this time for longer.

    Maura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Can't recommend it enough! Perfect for a group of friends going to VT for a ski weekend. Worth the longer drive to the mountains over the closer accommodations at this price range. Coming back!

  • What an amazing weekend we had at Eric's. The real vermont experience. Communication and hospitality were outstanding.

    Gustavo2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steam Hollow was a great weekend getaway. It is the picturesque Vermont stay you hope to have. Eric was great communicating with me, the house was clean, and had everything ready. I'm a sucker for a woodstove which he allowed us to start up. Would book again if I am back that way in Vermont.

Lots of light, the sound of the river, and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere await. This second story carriage house apartment is the perfect home base while you hike one of our many beautiful trails, or ski one of our mountains! 10 minutes from Middlebury College Snow Bowl, 30 minutes from Sugarbush, 45 minutes from Killington, 35 minutes to Mad River Glen.
Cozy upstairs 1 bedroom with a queen bed and single trundle which can be pulled out. With a full kitchen, full bath, and a woodstove for cold nights you won't want to leave the peace and quiet! This is a dog friendly space so if you have an allergy or an aversion it might not be the place for you (although I thoroughly clean after every guest).
It doesn't get any better than this! Nestled in the valley between the lovely Green Mountains, the property is bordered by two brooks. There's a quaint country store just up the road and all the hiking or biking you could ever want. Truly Vermont at its finest!

  • We really enjoyed staying at Kate's place. We were skiing at Sugarbush for a few days and her place is located close to that area (about a 25 minute drive). It is a great place to relax after a day of skiing. Kate was a great host who responded very quickly to any questions we had. We definitely plan to come back next time we ski Sugarbush.

    George2020-02-13T00:00:00Z

  • This is likely the best value Airbnb you will find. After our day of skiing at Sugarbush, it was a relatively short drive back to Kate's place. The location is very quiet and Kate is very responsive. The fireplace is a great touch. Highly recommended.

  • My husband and I spent a delightful four nights at Abbott's place earlier this week. We used it as our base to ski and hike and enjoy the beautiful countryside. We appreciated how well provisioned his place was. Lovely towels, sheets, etc. We had everything we could want in a kitchen including a vitamix for my morning smoothies! Some food items that were very useful including coffee, tea and some left behind food items from other travellers (peanut butter, etc.). Great location close to many amenities and yet off the beaten path. Abbott very responsive to all of our little questions....Looking forward to next time when we will explore the river and additional hiking trails!

    Don2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic rental very close the the Green Mountain National Forest. The apartment was incredibly clean with very nice amenities and comfortable beds. Abbott was really accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend.

  • Great apartment in East Middlebury about a 10-15 minute drive to campus. Very clean and comfortable space with nicer quality cookware and utensils. It was very nice having basic supplies such butter, oil, basic seasonings, coffee, tea, etc. The bed was quite comfortable with nice linens throughout. Communication with Abbott was very good.

  • Beautiful, clean apartment with great amenities and location. We truly enjoyed our stay. One word of caution to future travelers - the host will charge you for additional guests (our group grew from 3 to 4) and for sleeping in all the beds (our daughter took an afternoon nap in the third bed). These charges were billed to us after checkout.

This adorable rustic cabin sleeps 4, and has many extra amenities. Lake, pool, and community house with ping-pong, library, board games, and pool table. Kayak and canoe, and glorious hiking in the Green Mountain National Forest.
HOW TO AIRBNB: • Kindly read entire listing and the House Rules. • Complete your Airbnb profile (including photo). This cabin, one of nine in this small community retreat, is 100 yards from the lakefront with a private dock. The cabin has two bedrooms - 1 double bed and 2 twins. (The cabin will be entirely yours, the pool and lake areas are shared with the guests of the other cabins.) Full kitchen with stove/oven, coffee pot, toaster, and seating for 4, plus 2 armchairs. Kitchen has recently been updated with brand new "tiny house" fridge/freezer, butcher-block countertop, and new sink and faucet. Provided: tableware, pots and pans, and all the basic tools you'd need to make a great meal. Also coffee, creamer, sugar, some spices, olive oil, vinegar. We now have wi-fi and pretty good cell service! Our cabin is 3 season, UNHEATED. We close up in the fall and re-open in mid- May. Vermont weather in early spring/fall can be fickle. Meaning it's cold! We bring extra blankets! :-) During hot weather, there are 2 table fans provided for air circulation. This cabin has lake access to the 3-mile, beautiful Lake Dunmore. Nestled on the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest, down the road is the Branbury State Park. Copious hiking trails! Also, the cabin is just a few minutes from the lovely village of Brandon, the town of Middlebury, VT and a pleasant hour drive to Burlington, VT. Parking is right outside the front door - there is room for 1 car on the front lawn near the picnic table. Extra parking, for additional cars or if you have visitors drop by during the day, is just a few yards away. There is a clean convenient laundromat just down the road, at the north end of the lake. We are LGBTQ friendly. We do NOT discriminate against anyone- we welcome all races, ethnicities, gender identities, you name it. If you're kind, you can stay here.
The closest convenience stores: Country Store and Deli, 1457 Lake Dunmore Rd, Salisbury, VT 05769 Forest Dale Grocery and Deli, Furnace Rd, Forest Dale, VT 05745 There is also a Hannaford supermarket in downtown Brandon. A few good spots to eat: In Brandon: Cafe Provence- our favorite Mae’s Place- Main St. We like it. Sit outside. It is casual, and far from speedy, but it is friendly. And Brandon House of Pizza is good There's a restaurant and soft-serve place at the North end of the Lake that's decent, nothing fancy. That's the closest eatery to the cabin. They have more flavors of soft serve than I've ever seen. Closed after Labor Day. It's not Manhattan! :-) You can also venture down to Middlebury. 20 minute drive. My favorite place in the world. Restaurants in Middlebury: Rosie's Diner 2 Brothers Tavern Mr. Up's Otter Creek Brewing- great beer, and they have a pub/restaurant The Marbleworks - a conglomeration of stores, etc. Every place to eat in here is good, and it's a nice to walk around and see the waterfalls. Enjoy!!!
  • We have been coming to Laura’s cabin for years now and will keep coming back because it is such a perfect little spot. Charming and cozy, the cabin has everything you need, just a pretty and leafy walk down to the quiet lake. Great for a family vacation, this place is a true gem. We love Cabin #2!

    Sarah2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay! Very easy access to the lake, where they are all kinds of activities. But also easy access to great hiking or Middlebury or Brandon within a 20-minute drive or so. The cabin is comfortable and neighbors are very friendly. Would highly recommend, and would gladly stay again anytime!

The sky dome floods the yurt with natural light. Bird songs drift in through the screened windows. Wooded trails outside your door. Close to town yet private. Fire pit for sitting out under the stars. double sized bed in loft with memory foam topper makes it very comfy. This is a rustic yet elegant stay. Cooled by fans and heated by wood pellet stove. It is not a good fit for very young children due to the stairs, hot wood stove and rough lumber flooring.
Songbird Sangha is a unique place which has been thoughtfully placed amongst the trees. It's unique design gives you a spaceous and airy feel of being outdoors. The sounds of the birds , peepers and owl's, drift in through the screens. Moonlight streams in through the dome or you can look at the stars while laying in bed. It is heavenly for lover's of the outdoors.
We cannot see other houses from our property. It is quiet, has lovely views and privacy. The village has a book store, several bakery's, art gallery, jewelry store, brewery/bistro, pizza, concerts on the green, farmer's market, hiking and more.
  • The place is incredibly beautiful, very clean, and has everything you need. And Ellen is a wonderful host!

  • Great stay in this fabulous yurt! Super cozy and clean.

    Annie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt is the coolest place I ever stayed. It is gorgeous and has everything you need. It has a full amazing kitchen that is better than most apartments have! The sky roof is the best part. Great romantic getaway.

    Zoë2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was amazing and just what we had been looking for to get away! It was well stocked and we loved all the little touches. While we were there we enjoyed a thunderstorm from under the dome and it was awesome! Stay here, you won’t regret it!

    Jennifer2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely everything about our stay at Ellen and Jay’s yurt was wonderful. We were expecting it to be cute and fun but it far exceeded all our expectations. It’s incredibly comfortable and cosy, charming and romantic. We had our coffee outside on sunny mornings and enjoyed the warmth of the stove and sound of the rain on the yurt on the couple of rainy evenings we had while enjoying home cooked dinners. Have I mentioned falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the birds, the horses, the views, the peace? This is a truly magical place.

    Geraldine2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen and Jay were perfect hosts and their yurt provided a comfortable and cozy space for our stay. We would not hesitate to return. Lovely private setting.

    Lester2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely peaceful no fuss place to stay. The bed was comfortable and downstairs was perfect, there is no microwave so bring food that you can only cook on the stove or toaster oven. Alexa was a good addition to the yurt. We loved having a fire in the fire pit at night then moved into the yurt at night then enjoyed the pellet stove.

    Joanna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the yurt was so serene. What a great space Ellen has created, with all the amenities needed to be cozy and comfortable! The animals were a sweet bonus. Ellen and Jay are great people. We would love to return and spend more time checking out Ellen's suggestions. We got some great food at Snaps in Bristol and also stopped at the local market to get ingredients to cook dinner in the yurt too. (Be patient using the pellet stove, it takes a few minutes to get ignited.)

This is a spacious guesthouse/retreat where you can relax and unwind. There are great views and walking down the road is like paradise with open fields bordered by woods and teaming with wildlife. Nestled in the foothills of the green mountains, we’re just 10-15 minutes to restaurants in Bristol or Middlebury and 30-40 minutes to the lake or skiing. Come explore all that Addison County has to offer and you’ll quickly find why so many people choose to stay.
This is a large one bedroom apartment with tall ceilings and great light. It has vintage touches mixed with modern amenities.
Our house is a 1/4 mile from the nearest neighbor, at the end of a dirt road. It is at the top of a hill so it has great views of the foothills and the back side of Mad River Glen through the Bristol gap. The road is great for walks or bike rides and the area is famous for it's great hiking, skiing or sailing.
  • I had a wonderful stay at Ben's! He has tastefully decorated the large apartment above his woodworking shop...giant comfy beds, open kitchen/dining space, lots of hot water, and a separate entrance. Ben is a gracious host and fun to talk with. Stay here if you have the opportunity, highly recommended!

This cozy, private one-bedroom two-level Victorian carriage house is down the street from the Middlebury Inn. A short walk downtown Middlebury in one direction or fields and woods in the other, this is a comfortable and charming retreat in a great location.
The carriage house is a separate building adjacent to our private home. The first level includes a bathroom with a shower, and an eating area with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and cute drop-leaf table. Upstairs is a large open area with a comfortable queen-size bed and a living area with a couch, chairs, cable tv and desk. This space has is ideal for two people. For additional guests, we can provide an air mattress in the same large room as the bed. (Please note that we do not automatically set up the air mattress for bookings for two guests. If you wish to request it, please message us. We charge an additional $20/day for bookings that use the air mattress.) Note: There have been a few minor changes to the furnishings since these photos were taken.
The property is in a fantastic location. It is less than a quarter mile to the grocery store, natural foods co-op, laundry mat, and Bagel Shop. It's only a quarter mile more into downtown Middlebury, which has lovely shops, restaurants and bars. Keep walking and you'll arrive at Middlebury College, which is one mile from our house. Our house is also a quarter of a mile from two different trail heads of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), an 18 mile walking path around our town. You can easily take a 3 mile hike directly from your door and enjoy the woods and views from Chipman Hill.
  • Very comfortable and clean, great location. We would stay there again.

    Sonya2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot with a spacious upper story. Easy 20 mins walk to Middlebury campus. Hosts are quick to respond. Would stay again.

  • My husband and I loved staying here for a few days. The space has real charm - kind of a funky arrangement with the bathroom & kitchen-like facilities downstairs, but very cozy and comfortable. Caitlin & Andy are great, laid-back hosts & there was lots of good local information provided. We enjoyed our stay in Middlebury and would recommend a stop at the excellent Art Museum at the College. It's free!

  • This place was wonderful! I stayed in the dead of winter when the temps dipped below freezing. The space was warm and the shower was hot. And the bed was so very comfortable. The hosts also provided a variety of Keurig coffee and teas, cream in the fridge, plates and utensils, etc. There is even an induction stove top (that I didn't use). And the location in Middlebury was perfect. I appreciated my host coming out to greet me and offer local restaurant tips, etc. She was so friendly. Perfect stay.

  • I found the Carriage House an ideal location for a long weekend in Middlebury. The interior is beautifully restored and sparkling clean. It is comfortable yet stylish and very close to downtown Middlebury and the college. I have already booked my next stay and in the Spring.

    Holly2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Caitlin and Andy’s place. It is walking distance to the town of Middlebury and the space was clean and comfortable.

    Molly2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near town and the College. Nice and quiet for a weekend away. We hope to stay here again soon.

  • Caitlin and Andy’s place was perfect for my stay in Middlebury! The carriage house was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The location is very convenient as well. I would definitely recommend!

Modern, clean home on 14 acres in the green mountains in Vermont. Short drive to beautiful Middlebury, VT. Near hiking and cross country skiing trails. Exposed beams and a double sided fire place add to the Vermont charm.
  • Our stay at Kevin and Jody’s place has totally revised the high end of my scale for a perfect AirBnB stay. You should FIND a reason to visit the Ripton/ Middlebury area in order to stay in this beautiful home and enjoy the surroundings. The house is simultaneously cozy and spacious with areas to delight all ages and interests: great books line the shelves (I left with new additions to my reading list) including the best in children’s books. The kitchen is stocked with top quality cooking and serving dishes. The 5 burner gas stove encourages you to cook up a feast! The double sided fireplaces bring the warmth of a wood fire to both the living room and the dining room, and the outdoor setting is Vermont at its best. We enjoyed being just minutes from the Nordic ski center. Kevin and Jody are accessible, thoughtful, and ever so friendly. We give this place our highest recommendation.

    Bobbie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Jody’s home was the perfect place for our family to spend the night after a day of skiing! The home is full of natural light, beautifully decorated, fireplaces to enjoy, games to play and large kitchen with everything you need to cook meals. I would highly recommend staying there! So much room to spread out and gorgeous views. Responses to questions were immediate, Our family of 6 loved it!

  • Inviting and comfortable home in a great location. The house had everything we needed and was a perfect home base for our family visit to Middlebury.

  • Worth the money......

    Rohit2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the mountains of Vermont. The house is sparkling clean, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. It's just 15 minutes from the Middlebury campus, and we plan to stay here often over the next several years.

    Steve2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jody and Kevin were great to work with. We needed a pack and play and a high chair for my grandson and they were able to secure ones for our use. This was a huge help. The location is wonderful. There is great hiking nearby and yet you are very close to Middlebury. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. They were very welcoming and left great notes with tips, etc. The check-in and check-out was very easy.

    Laurie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located about 8 miles from Middlebury. This is a very pretty home, which comfortably fit our group of 7. We particularly appreciated the toys for our 8 year old son, and the great board and card games for the grownups. We had a wonderful time staying here.

    Joy2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Remember when you were a little kid, and you'd look through picture books that showed a family gathered around a cozy Christmas hearth, or followed a young person through a huge backyard on a bright summer day, full of promise? You can live in that world at Jody & Kevin's place. The house is beautiful, nicely laid out for a bunch of friends or extended family to share, and situated in a quiet, beautiful lane just outside Ripton. The runners/walkers have quiet dirt roads that lead to wilderness trails nearby, and those who want to just chill out in an Adirondack chair with a book will be happy with the house too. The house has all the amenities anyone would need, plus those extras that make an AirBnB special: soft sheets and towels, extra toiletries in case anyone forgot to pack something, a well stocked kitchen that allowed us to bake fresh bread during our stay, and an excellent selection of books for adults and kids alike. I almost hesitate to post how wonderful our stay was, because we want to return to Jody and Kevin's and we don't want the house's calendar to become TOO booked! But they are such caring, kind hosts and the property is such a great one, that we will be kind, and do the right thing, and tell the world what a great time we all had here. ;-)

  • I cannot say enough about staying with Lisa. Her house is lovely, and she is just wonderful - friendly, warm, and makes you feel at home. Lisa accommodated my late-night arrival and gave directions to help me find my way in the dark. The room itself is very cozy and comfortable. I slept better than I have in weeks! Lisa also provided an assortment of breakfast options, complete with a beautiful place setting in a kitchen with a large hearth. Picturesque! I delighted in walking around the property, appreciating all of the landscaping and fall colors. Lisa's house is also a fairly short, easy drive away from Middlebury, where you can find excellent sightseeing and great breweries, meals, etc. I highly recommend staying with Lisa!

    Rikki2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A bit off the beaten path, but a quiet location as a result. About 9 miles from Middlebury. Homeowner allows use of kitchen and living room, which has satellite TV, but limited channels. Owner is helpful with info. on events in area, and responsive when fielding inquiries. I enjoyed my lengthy stay there.

    Thomas2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I previously booked with Lisa about two years ago. Because that visit with Lisa was so memorable, I had to reserve another stay with her on a recent trip to Vermont. Lisa is so warm, energetic and personable. While you are her guest, her home becomes yours as well. A good nights' sleep under a down comforter and a delicious breakfast before heading out the door will, no doubt, guarantee another return visit in the future!

    Carla2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is very accommodating, her home is warm and beautiful. Very accessible to Route 125 and Route 7. Breakfast is a lovely affair.

    Amelia2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lisa's was absolutely better than expected. We had a very late check in time, Lisa was incredibly flexible. The room was cozy and perfectly fit two of us. The shower/bathroom was clean and well taken care of. Make sure to check in with Lisa before sunset as there are zero lights or indicators on her road. Otherwise, was an awesome stay! Thanks Lisa!!

    Kyle2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Lisa's quaint B&B! Lisa was very warm and welcoming and her house is beautiful, both inside and out. My bed was super comfy and you are tucked away in the woods which made for a nice, quiet night sleep. Lisa's breakfast was delicious and was a highlight for my short stay. I would highly recommend staying at Lisa's, I know I will again!

    Lucy2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's house is charming, very comfortable, and surrounded by natural beauty, and Lisa herself is welcoming, friendly, and a fantastic breakfast chef. It's a quick drive into Middlebury, but remote enough to be the perfect place for a quiet retreat. I really enjoyed my stay.

    Sara2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is a perfect airbnb host! She has a beautiful house, and makes you feel right at home. Her house is up on a mountain road, set back from the road so you are really in a quiet sanctuary. She had a full house while I was there; but we did not feel in any way cramped. Thank you Lisa - I hope to come back to stay again.

Dorothy & Harriett’s Room has been described as: comfortable, cozy, quiet, peaceful and of course whimsical. The room comes with access to the kitchen, Gathering spaces and outdoor porches and patios. Centrally located between Burlington, Middlebury and Vergennes. Also near Ski Resorts; Sugarbush, Mad River and Middlebury Snow Bowl. Yet far enough away tucked up inside the Green Mountain Nat’l Forest for a full rural Vermont experience.
Dorothy & Harriett’s is inside The Old Hotel. A former Hotel on the Coach run to Montpelier. Inside the Room: A very memory foam king bed (less than a year). A small token is also provided (Sweet or savory) and a karaffe of water . The bathroom is stocked with Vermont Soap Co. or Yardley products and Hemp. Co Shampoo. All is organic and animal cruelty free. A/C and Heat is adjustable by a thermostat in the stairwell. (Temp is listed in Celsius) Inside the House, Common areas: You are welcome to use the common spaces and enter through the main house. Inside are two living areas, a foyer and kitchen. Please feel free to use these areas if you wish. One area is the Music Room. There are book cases filled with family books and music, a piano and fireplace to enjoy. The other living area has the kitchen, dining table and gathering area. WiFi is through the House as well. Also pease be aware there is one cat in the House. He is relegated to the gathering room and kitchen and not allowed upstairs. Outside Grounds: The grounds outside are Hotel, in good weather, are full of gardens to enjoy. A fire pit out back is great for evening gatherings. Also in the back is a large patio with tables and chairs. Many paths also wander the gardens. Two very large porches allow for enjoying both sides of the Hotel. The Front enjoys lots of sun and one can enjoy the bustle of a small town. The back is very quiet and looks over all the English Cottage style gardens and an old paddock. Area: Food is plentiful so lets start there. Lots of local options for eating out with award winning options and local hot spots. In town is the General Store. The local Mercantile that sells all the staples as well as a pretty good wine and beer selection. Also delicious sweets, wraps, sandwiches, soups and stews. A great place to catch up on all the local gossip and get a taste of Vermont flavor. Beyond, in Bristol, are the first options for restaurants, and it does not disappoint. The Bobcat Cafe, Snaps, Cubbers Pizza, and several local markets as well as chain pharmacy and supermarket. Also within an Hours Drive are many options and activities. Farms, Middlebury College, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen Ski resorts, Rivers and Creeks for kayaking, white water and fishing. Lake Champlain and its many views, ferry’s and water sports are 20 minutes out. Hiking and Bike are plentiful. We are 5 mins to the Long Trail and can be used as a stop on the way or a staging area. There are also Massage Therapists available upon request. However the real beauty of this place is to just sit and relax and enjoy the community ***Please Note! Your Room and Bathroom are yours and private but the bath is across the hall (2 steps) this is not a Suite
Lincoln is all about community. We are a rural mountain town that enjoys its neighbors and surrounding areas. To find out about the local’s and anything going on its best to stop by the General Store. Like any quintessential Vermont General Store this is the place to catch up on the neighbors, issues, and goings on about town. (They also have great baked goods and wines.). Activities in town require more exertion but are definitely worth the effort. From hiking and biking the many back roads, trails and hikes; to fishing, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing or kayaking. There are plenty of vistas, views and just plain beautiful mountain scenery. But it you need a little more convenience, Bristol is just down the road 10 minutes with town parks, restaurants and storefronts.
  • Quaint, relaxing and comfortable. Our stay was beyond our expectations. Looking forward to returning.

    Nancy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place is awesome if your looking for a much cheaper alternative to staying at a hotel. Great location because its relatively close to the mountains for skiing/snowboarding. Also, there is a small town near by with some great restaurants to check out.

Wonderful well maintained and renovated 1880 Vintage Farmhouse with lots of natural light sitting above the New Haven River in Lincoln. Amazing mountain views including view of the Green Mountain Presidential Range. The house is located 15 minutes from Bristol, 25 minutes from Middlebury and 45 minutes from Burlington. Metta Earth Institute is walking distance. Close to 2 major ski resorts and a short drive to Breadloaf Campus of Middlebury College.
Lincoln is quintessential Vermont. Tiny and feels secluded but a short drive into surrounding towns. On a dirt road so get ready to hear animals at night, a gentle stream, and occasional horse hooves. If you are looking for nighttime activity Burlington is a short 45 minute drive. Biking, hiking, meditating, snuggling in for romance, or just a walk in the woods are what awaits you.
This is a cute 3 bdrm home in a rural town, although only the downstairs is furnished. Owner is a short drive if needed but the entire home will be yours without anyone on the property. Throw the windows up or leave the screened porch open to hear nature. Snowshoe on the property in winter. General store with some of the most delectable home-baked treats is just 5 minutes down the dirt road and they'll love to meet you.
  • Really great spot. Very clean and easy to find. Host was very communicative in answering any questions we had.

  • Ethan's place was wonderful. Plenty of space, and the kitchen came stocked with basics as advertised. The house is right on the road, but the road is so quiet it really doesn't matter, we never noticed. The house is very comfortable, and has beautiful windows out back. We'll definitely be back.

  • We had a marvelous stay. Ethan and Kristin's place is lovely - wonderful views of a truly marvelous landscape in a relaxing setting. Our hosts were the best - the place was clean and comfortable, and they were super helpful with our various questions along the way!

    Brett2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen & Ethan's place was our home base for skiing at Sugarbush & Killington. From the house it was about an hour fifteen to Killington and 45 mins to Sugarbush. Both drives were quite scenic. We also checked out the town of Bristol which was about 10 mins away and home to some good restaurants and shops. Overall, the space was quiet and peaceful and very clean. We appreciated the easy check in! Also, so happy to find a dog friendly home! Thanks again!

We live in a place that used to be a hippie commune, on a hill above a town straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. There are wonderful scenic walks in the area, plus great skiing and snowshoeing. Our house is small and not at all fancy, but cozy. We love to entertain guests, so if you are not fussy about perfection, and you are in the mood for some down home Vermont time, come on by!
It's a mile down a dirt road, so it helps to have good snow tires in winter and 4WD or AWD. It's a bit run down, like a camp house. The guest rooms are up stairs. We do have personal belongings in the guest rooms, and it's not fancy, but at least the price is right!!! The single bed is 6ft by 3ft. The double bed is 6ft by 4ft. Half the house has a somewhat slanted floor. The town has 4 restaurants and a general store. Feel free to eat out, or cook in our kitchen. We have a four burner gas stove (sorry the oven is not working now). We have a toaster, insta-pot, french press, a kettle, and a percolator.

The "Sweet Retreat" is just that! Nestled up against the Green Mtns, w Western Mtn views & the sound of a babbling brook. Seriously relaxing. Full Kitchen, wood floors, screened-in porch & outdoor shower to rinse off after a bike, or hike. Located at the end of the road, you arrive at our little cabin. The bedrooms are lofts. One with a queen bed & private bath, the other loft room has two twins. • If your looking for those beautiful Mountain views this is the place! I only wish we could have spent more time just lounging around the cabin soaking in the scenery. You won’t be disappointed staying here and we would definitely stay again!

  • WOW! This cabin and the property it sits on is so dreamy. It's beautifully decorated yet simple. It doesn't need much because the view is everything you need. It was super clean and cozy; from the windows seats, to the porch and even the bedrooms with skylights. I must note that the full size bed in the main room is so comfortable and the down comforter was plush and the pillow cases were so soft. My husband and I stayed when the fall foliage began and the mountains in the distance did not disappoint, nor did the trees on the property. We are always looking for cabins in remote locations and this was the most remote we've experienced with our many AirBnb stays. We are so thankful Ingrid and Woody share their home with the AirBnb community because it's truly a special place. We'll certainly be back. Thank you!

    Jess2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome retreat! Very private, amazing views, a great place to get away and relax!

    Duncan2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ingrid's cabin was amazing!! We came up for labor day weekend and couldn't have picked a better location to unwind from city life. The cabin was very private and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was just the 2 of us, plus our two dogs but there was plenty of room to spare with the extra bedroom. All amenities were accurate (wifi was great) and the place was immaculate. We loved the artwork by her husband hanging on the walls! Ingrid was very helpful throughout the process and very responsive. There are several fun hiking trails near by and a local general store that was near. I would highly recommend this cabin and I hope to come back in the future!

Considering the scarcity of hotels near Middlebury College, this place is hidden gem for parents of and visitors to Middlebury. The sunny view from the window was beautiful. A bagel shop in downtown was in walking distance.

  • A wonderful cozy, clean, homey space that is very convienently located close to town. It was excatly what I was hoping for, and the perfect place to stay after a long day of work and travel. I cannot say enough good things!

    Isa2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A GREAT cozy, warm and welcoming place. Wendy is a top-notch host. It feels more like staying at a friend's house (without the shared rooms.

The house is an open post and beam concept on a cul de sac. It is very quiet and private. The bedroom is spacious, light and clean. There is a private bathroom that is accessed from the main hallway. The wood stove creates a cozy, Vermont country feel. The house is 10 minutes from Sugarbush and 20 minutes from Mad River Glen. Located only 1 mile from Blueberry lake and the bike trails. 5 miles to Warren village, 11 miles to Waitsfield village.
The property abuts the National forest and has many trails for hiking, biking, nordic and downhill skiing!
I am very close to Blueberry lake, Warren Falls, Moss Glen Falls. The area is a tourist destination and has all sorts of restaurants and amenities.
  • Awesome place with an incredible view in Warren. Perfect for a couple or a couple buddies with the one bed and then the loft area. Jeff and his dogs were super cool and make the stay easy and welcoming.

  • This was a truly a fun experience. Jeff’s hospitality and local knowledge made for a true ole fashioned Vermont experience. Great location and bargain.

    Dorothy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place is a great find. We loved his house and his neck of the woods. Jeff gave us great advice where to go for dinner and we also enjoyed his company at home playing backgammon and watching TV. His two dogs are fun and friendly. The bedroom is cozy and provided ample privacy. We would definitely come back!

  • We loved our stay! It was so peaceful and a perfect getaway.

    Jake2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Truly beautiful, cozy loft apartment. Breathtaking windows looking out to the mountains. Christine and John have a lovely home and were very accommodating. Their directions from the town center are clear - there are dirt roads. In general, we do not recommend driving from 89 up through the Green Mountain National Forest, at night, in the winter, like we did (live and learn and we made it out completely fine!). AWD/4WD vehicle is recommended. The space is incredible! Very well designed, couches to curl up on, and a great selection of tea. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful and the heated floors were a nice touch. We were very comfortable during our quick respite in the mountains. I could not get enough of that view and my boyfriend loved the sunshine in the morning. Loved talking with John and saying hello to their sweet dog Nellie. We want to stay here again in the summer to explore all that the Green Mountains have to offer!! Highly recommend Bobcat Café and the Recycled Reading of Vermont shop (books, art supplies, musical instruments, and more!). Middlebury is also fun to walk through - we enjoyed the Vermont’s Own Products shop there! Overall a real gem. We couldn’t believe our luck in finding this rental and we heartily recommend it.

  • Gorgeous barn with high end amenities. Be warned if you are booking in the winter, it's about a 40-50 minute drive to Sugarbush Resort, as the Lincoln Gap Road is closed in the winters. Very secluded and private.

    Jordan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Christine is a straightforward host with only a few simple rules. The space is tucked away in a beautiful location. Plenty of room to hang out and get your rest. We had a great stay and will certainly look to book with her again.

    Kara2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing gem tucked away in rural VT. I stayed at the end of a warm spell and the beginning of an arctic blast. 10+/- Inches of snow and wet ground that froze underneath. Come with AWD if you are visiting in winter. Christine pointed out the best hikes and snowshoeing opportunities, the latter of which I commenced from out the front door and on snowshoes provided by Christine. Highly and unreservedly recommend it. Hope to return in summer and again in winter!

    Marcus2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Great location and comfortable place.

    Shaqed2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was incredibly welcoming and the space was simply amazing. The view from the spacious and beautiful room was absolutely breathtaking. It was like waking up in an enchanted forest each morning with views of snow falling over Mt Abraham. With the lovely town of Bristol only 15 minutes away (we loved the Bristol Cliffs Cafe) where you can find everything you need to enjoy a romantic dinner back at the Barn. We would both love to return for another visit. Thank you Christine!!

    Emily2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was amazing in every aspect. The barn is very comfy and charming with unique details. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon. Above expectations!!!

  • We packed almost everything in to our short stay - the trails, the hot tub, reading in the window seat... Travel with a dog and 6 year old isn't always easy, but the cabins were a great spot for our active bunch! Clean and quiet with plenty of things to explore just out the door. This place is a labor of love in so many ways, and you feel it as a guest. The hosts and staff are wonderful, the view is great. We were sad to leave!

  • The Robert Frost Cabins are a complete delight. The cabin was spacious and has a view to die for. Carol & Marty were extremely responsive and helpful whenever I reached out. The area is gorgeous, quiet, and so peaceful. The Peak Perspective cabin was also the most clean and best stocked in terms of cookware/dishware I've ever encountered. They also partner with a local catering service (Breadloaf Kitchen) that we ordered from and everything was SO GOOD. I will definitely be staying again!

The queen bed in the master was so comfortable. I slept great both nights! The kitchen was well equipped with coffee, tea and half n’ half as well as all the necessary utensils, etc. for eating. This place is oozing with rustic charm!

  • My partner and I stayed here for his birthday weekend. We almost cancelled last minute because of COVID-19 concerns, but Lesley was so sweet and checked in to talk it through with us. In the end we still went, as the location is already pretty isolated and we didn't leave except for some hiking and exploring. The place is peaceful and cozy, perfectly clean, and in such a beautiful spot. We loved being around the chickens and Badger the dog! Would recommend this spot to anyone and would love to return again one day.

    Nimisha2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This has been my favorite airbnb experience so far. Banjo's cottage was adorable, incredibly spacious, and a real bargain for the price. Additionally, Lesley was a wonderful and friendly host who made sure to have the extra touches available....like fresh coffee beans, farm fresh eggs, board games, wood for the fireplace, just incredible all around. We loved walking around the property and meeting the llamas, and are hoping to return again for a longer stay. Truly a hidden gem in lovely Vermont, at any time of year.

    Roshni2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is so cozy and well laid, each room with its own character and charm. We loved curling up next to the fire, playing games, and enjoying the local foods we found at the Middlebury Co-op. The highlight was meeting the llamas, an absolute must! Great visit all around - we are eager to return!

    Kelly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time here and can’t recommend it highly enough. The location is perfect for anyone looking to do a bit of skiing, hiking, walking etc. but it’s also perfect for those just looking for a wonderful quiet place to retreat to. We spent our time skiing and hiking, lighting a fire in the evenings and just enjoying the peace and quiet. There are many places to eat nearby if you don’t fancy cooking too much (though we chose to make use of the kitchen, which has everything you could need). We loved seeing the chickens wander past, and thoroughly enjoyed their fresh eggs for our breakfasts. Lesley was a generous and wonderful host and we felt completely at home away from home. We’ll be back!

    Dani2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time walking in the woods with the llamas. They were incredibly friendly! We loved meeting Badger, the English Shepard as well. The beds were comfortable and the living area was perfectly equipped with plenty of games for the evening. We couldn’t have had a better getaway from NYC.

    Michelle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Banjo’s cottage is exactly as described. Peaceful and lovely and a really pleasant stay! Definitely recommend!
