“Stone Brewery got their start right here in Escondido! Their Bistro & Garden is a local must-see even if you don’t drink beer. Their huge restaurant and brewery is the perfect place to have an intimate date around the pond/fire pits, or even a big event around the gardens and koi ponds. You can take a free tour of the brewery and get gifts from the attached store. Their food is locally sourced and phenomenal. Try their draft cold brew coffee and the ahi nachos!”

“The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve has something for everyone. You can hike the trails starting from the Reserve entrance, or you can join the trails at various locations off of Harmony Grove Road and Elfin Forest Road. The roads run adjacent to a stream where an abundant array of wildlife, especially birds can be found. Additionally, it is an excellent representation of tree and plant life native to San Diego and California. On the weekends, guided tours and workshops are offered by the Nature Center found at the end of one of the more leisure hikes into the hills. Go to their website for weekend activities. Be there early as parking and events fill up fast on the weekends.”

“Urge Gastropub and Whiskey Bank converted an old bank building into an upscale craft brewhouse and restaurant. The former vault of the bank is now home to 101 Proof, a classic speakeasy with a hidden side entrance, and authentic decor reminiscent of the Prohibition era. The bar menu boasts a number of craft cocktails, like the flaming Boom Tiki Tiki made with ten ingredients, 40% alcohol and house-made grenadine. There are also single-barrel whiskeys and 10 types of Old Fashioned cocktails on the menu. 2002 South Coast Hwy.”
