  • I stayed at Marybeth’s place with 10 of my closest friends and it was incredible. When we arrived, Marybeth greeted us and gave as a full tour of the place. All beds were made up and she showed us where towels, kitchen items, and all other amenities were kept. She also had wood chopped for us to use in the wood stove and fireplace. I would highly recommend using this place for all of your group vacation needs!

  • MaryBeth's home far exceeded our expectations. It fit a large group of adults and children comfortably (more than comfortably!!) She was so welcoming and so kind. The kind of hospitality she showed is one that all should show. I would come here time and again with large groups and we hope to visit again in the future. Her home was full of lovely and historical touches. We slept so peacefully on comfortable beds. The house was warm at all times even when the outside temperature was in the teens. It happened to snow while we were there and my kids were able to run around outside and play in the beautiful woods which is wonderful for city kids. The main kitchen area has huge windows lining the wall so you can view her property and watch sunsets as you eat dinner. This is by far the best air bnb we have rented!

  • We had a great stay at the barn. Everything was very clean and the toys/books on the third floor was a nice touch for our kids.

    Arturo2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful property, lot's of rooms, rustic architecture and easy to get too.

    Joshua2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Roomy and cozy! We had 12 people over night and had plenty of place for a board game tournament and with place to spare for everyone to find a quiet corner as well. A 2 mile walk past 18th century farmhouses to an old mill and a covered bridge crowned our afternoon.

    Brian2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I organized a Thanksgiving gathering for old friends and MaryBeth’s place was perfect! The house was very picturesque throughout and provided plenty of space to host a Thanksgiving dinner for 30 people. MaryBeth was very nice and hospitable. She kept in touch with me from booking through my stay to make sure we were all taken care of. I can’t thank her enough and would definitely recommend.

  • Our friends do an annual "cabin trip" and this was one of the best! The online photos do not do the location justice. It is a beautiful retrofitted barn and MaryBeth and her husband are the kindest and funniest hosts. She shared the history and stories about the barn with us, which made it that much more enjoyable. We would happily return for another cabin get-away!

  • MaryBeth offers a wonderful opportunity to stay in a charmingly converted barn on Route 169 in the historic and quaint Brooklyn / Pomfret area. The barn conversion was clearly a labor of love. If you like exposed beams, old old wood, eccentric in and out / up and down flow and lots of memorabilia and antique details, you'll love staying at MaryBeth's place. Our family of 4 couples, 2 singles, and one child had both privacy and communal space when we wanted it. The kitchen and 2nd floor family room were favorites. Really not too be missed if you're looking for accommodations for a group in Northeast, Ct. btw, I grew up in the area and MaryBeth's place and 169 still offer "back in the 50's" charm.

  • Came to celebrate my 40th with many of my friends and we had an amazing time! The house was beautiful and fit our theme exactly!

  • Natalie’s mansion was absolutely perfect for a large group. Almost every bedroom has a private bathroom making it ideal for large groups, especially large groups of couples. The sheets and towels were very comfortable and soft. The mattresses were very comfortable. Overall we were thrilled with our experience. We took Ubers to Foxwoods and Mohegan, which was a short and very affordable ride. The mansion is not at all far from the highway and very close to St Patrick’s if anyone is interested in that history. We would definitely recommend the house and rent it again should we return. Thank you for hosting us!

  • Beautiful Mansion perfect for large family get togethers. 7 of the 8 bedrooms have their own bath. Details of house are stunning.

  • Amazing house in a quiet town. There were 12 of us for a golf weekend, and the location was perfect given the course in the area. Getting into the house was simple and the house itself was more than we expected. Will definitely return in the future.

  • This is truly a spectacular place. My wife and I were married here at the gazebo in the back yard. The house is really amazing. In the morning, we got coffee from the coffee bar in the garden tea room, and then ate breakfast at one of the four tables. The coffee bar includes a Keurig and Ninja machine, a fridge, little sink, and quite a few coffee pods to get started. We didn't use the formal dining room, which included 10 seats for guests, instead using the large table in the kitchen. Off of the kitchen, the children enjoyed the living room and its chess table and large TV for video games. (Xbox 360 is there). There is an interesting library and formal living room in the other part of the house. Each of the bedrooms is very nice, and all but one has a bathroom with it. We stayed in the master suite which was fantastic - huge closet area and the bathroom includes a standing shower and Jacuzzi tub. Downstairs has a pool table and ping pong table that got some use from our guests. We rented the house next door as well (262) and had some guests stay there. They are owned by different people but you could literally walk next door. The owner Natalie made special arrangements for us for the rental because we had our wedding there and a number of guests coming. We will never forget the time we had at this home. Thanks to Natalie for making it a remarkable wedding for us.

CDC Cleaning protocols used. Spacious, tranquil, a charming Mid Century Ranch (1959) situated on 1000 acres of protected Connecticut farmland. A backyard private pool (May through September) and pond. 20 minutes to UCONN. 10 to Eastern University. A simple space with light and privacy, view of fields and sky. Accepting longer bookings only due to extensive cleaning protocols.
Northeastern Connecticut has a quiet heritage known as "The Last Green Valley", there are things to do, and history embedded in unlikely places. Getting here is by car, bus and train service difficult. It is three hours to NYC, 2 to Boston, a half hour or one hour to ocean beaches, a quick hour to the Connecticut River Valley. This part of Connecticut is not tourist oriented; there are things to do, but you do need to drive a bit to get to them. The house is situated on hundreds of acres of protected farmland. No farm animals on the premises. The backyard view is a small swamp/pond, farm fields, open sky. The pool is non-heated. June and July and August, the water temperature is fine. This house sleeps 8. Fantastic place for friends getting together for an individualized yoga retreat, family reunions, couples who want a whole house, family gatherings. Great for those who enjoy an off the beaten path destination, or want a country setting without being totally backwoods. A simple house with light and views.
Pretty walks, bike rides, a very private backyard, and a natural wild trout stream a short walk away. Scenic hilly bike rides. Head into town, Willimantic, for local restaurants. Top picks for breakfast: That Breakfast Place, or Thread City Diner, Blondies. For Dinner try the excellent small plates fare at Cafemantic on Main Street for dinner. Beer lovers will find the homemade brews at the Willimantic Brewing Company exceptional. Great hand cut French Fries at Aero Diner, in an old dining car. Not Only Juice on Main Street has yummy homemade vegan food in a welcoming space. Visit The Harp on Church, for a Willi style Irish Pub. Great food and local atmosphere. A local coffee house, Grounded, serves up lattes and strong wifi. UCONN friendly Fenton River Grill, near the East Brook Mall for drinks and dinner. Yum. A 20-minute drive will take you to Storrs Center, with new shops and restaurants to enjoy.
  • Jennifer's place was exactly what we needed for some R&R with my husband and toddler. The house is sparkling clean, thoughtfully decorated and we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Jenny provided information about the area--we didn't get to do much but was nice to have local curated knowledge about places to visit and things to do. A great place for a getaway with for both couples and families.

    Tembi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a place where multiple details make the difference. Jennifer is an extremely attentive host, very attentive. From the rental request until the very last moment of departure, we feel enveloped by the sum of these little things that change everything. Many geese land on the pond at the back of the house, which enhances the view. And everything in the house is practical and comfortable. Mattresses, sheets, towels, fine salts, the magnificent fireplace, wood for the fireplace, vegan chocolates offered upon arrival, the list of activities to do, the addresses of nearby restaurants, the addresses of grocery stores nearby, the tranquility of the place, the turntable with vinyls, plenty of dishes, teas, basic ingredients provided, two full bathrooms, skylights, night lights, all the amenities of the kitchen and bathrooms and each room. In short, we lack nothing and everything has been thought out so that we want to stay there very long. Bravo for this human warmth and generosity, I highly recommend!

  • Super clean and unique home with an exceptional host.

    Edmond2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, property and host who went out of her way to make our Christmas celebration memorably perfect. Everything I needed was there. The house offered comfort, style, and a wonderful kitchen for cooking. Loved the convection oven. The outdoor space was beautiful, we were visited by a bald eagle one afternoon who perched in a tree overlooking the pond. I have stayed in many Airbnb homes across the US and in Europe and this was one of the best.

Small shared kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, griddle and air fryer. There is a small living room and washer and dryer that is also shared . If you book both room #2 and #3 you would have the apt to your self and could use the couch for a fifth guest.
This is a very relaxed, quiet place that you will feel comfortable. We are very accommodating and will help make you stay an enjoyable one.
This is a short street with a culdesac. I live near the end of the culdesac. It is very quiet with woods and farmland behind me. There is serene privacy outside at the guest patio with grill and firepit available during the warmer months.

  • Carol is a genuine and attentive host. Her place is clean, comfortable and quiet. The unique arrangement and decor give this spot a touch of magic.

    Nick2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ok. This is by far the nicest place I have ever stayed in for the money! It’s a newly-redone separate apartment in a large, upscale home, which in turn is in a nice neighborhood. And just a very short distance from I-395. The place was very well-appointed. SPARKLING clean. Firm mattress that allowed me to sleep great. Sheets that smelled ever so faintly of detergent and bleach. Perfect. The photographs led me to suspect that it was just a basic, cheap place to lay my head for a night. WRONG!!! I liked Carol very much, AND she has dogs! The house was very quiet (something I value highly) and every little thing from the lighting to the plumbing was either brand new or perfectly maintained. In short: nothing short of an amazing value. I would move right in there! Er, if I didn’t already live somewhere else. An Airbnber’s dream. Strongly recommend. Carol may be new to hosting, but she did it right.

  • Laurie's Farmhouse was a perfect place for our group to stay for a friends wedding in the area. The beds were comfy and the bathroom clean. You go through the main house to get to the bedrooms, but our hosts always made us feel welcome and the little bedroom suite with the bathroom felt like plenty of room. We also enjoyed petting the horses in the barn and exploring the lovely property!

  • Great place. Comfortable on a cold, snowy winter night. And tons of movies on the TV!

    Peter2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We appreciated the private spacious apt. with a kitchen equipped with what we needed. The setting was very quintessential New England. The response to our last minute request for that night was immediate and a relief to us, two weary travelers.

  • Sarah is really cool. The property accommodates many vehicles and the space is perfect for a couple of people to stay in for a while. Would definitely want to stay again when visiting the area.

  • We loved Sarah’s place! There was so much space to relax, and Sarah was very responsive to all of our questions. Definitely recommend staying there if you find yourself in the area.

  • Great stay! The space is comfortable and unique. We loved the spot and the goats were so sweet and friendly. Sarah was very quick to offer tips for the area and answer questions. I would love to stay again next time I’m in the area.

    Diana2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is HUGE. Much bigger than I was expecting. We loved feeding the goats apples and carrots, the indoor fireplace was so relaxing to unwind by, and I took two very long bubble baths in the awesome soaking tub. Fantastic place to get away from it all with only a short drive to some really cool spots. We found a local nursery called Logees and got lost in all those beautiful greenhouses for about two hours. And Sarah was a great host, very helpful with a pleasant and welcoming demeanor, and excellent communication skills, that made our stay that much more comfortable.

    Angela2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautiful! It was perfect for what my in-laws and I needed it for. The host was very communicative and helpful when we had questions. Pictures don’t do it justice, and that’s saying something! We would love to be back in warmer weather to utilize more of the outside spaces!

    Alexandra2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is incredibly spacious, and peaceful. The big tub relaxed all our cares away. There is a fantastic skylight in the master bedroom that gives a full view of the night sky. Sarah is a very caring and responsive hostess.

    Elizabeth2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place was just Amazing! Very spacious and well taken care off! Sarah stayed in contact all off the time and always made sure to tell us if theres anything we need to just call her! It was a great 1st time experience/booking! Thank You sarah!

    Jesse2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so very much! The soaking tub? Amazing. No worries about running out of hot water here! The goats? I will miss them the most! Really, it’s just a nice place to lay your head and enjoy some quiet. Communication is an absolute breeze! Sarah is friendly, funny and so accommodating. Suggestions: it gets cold upstairs, in the winter, so bring warmer jammies and socks. We are foodies, if this describes you, you might want to bring a sturdy cutting board and your own knives...but that’s just because we like to pretend we are professional cooks! Bring carrots for the goats!!!

    Melinda2020-01-16T00:00:00Z

The house was built in 1858 and is situated on 7 acres. It has 5 bedrooms available I host on Airbnb. Even when I have a full house it is always very quiet. I suppose the kitchen is the social hub of the house, There is plenty of parking and there is a small grocery store about a quarter mile away, other than the store it is all residential. The rooms are all professionally decorated with upscale furnishings.
The house is very quiet, even when it is completely full and I'm sure you will feel very comfortable in your private room
  • Douglas was outstanding. Would definitely recommend!

The Ida Bailey Allen Suite is minutes from state parks, walking trails, the art and culture of ECSU and UConn, stunning views of rural New England, the famous Willi Brew Pub, and Storrs Center. The space was created to honor my grandmother, food authority and nationally known radio personality of the 1920's and 30's. It is welcoming, peaceful, and surrounded by woods. The cozy, "tiny house" feel with vaulted ceiling and sky light makes it unique. Windjammer Guitars is also on site!
My grandmother and my mother taught me about old-fashioned New England hospitality, and it is my pleasure to offer you clean, comfortable accommodations, including continental breakfast fare. The 12 by 18 addition that you will occupy has a separate entrance for privacy. You will also enjoy an en suite bathroom with shower, as well as temperature control.
Although our neighborhood has a rural feel, we are 10 to 15 minutes away from Storrs Center, Uconn, grocery stores, shopping malls, Walmart and downtown Willimantic. Co-host, luthier, and stringed instrument technician, Mike South, operates his 5 star business, Windjammer Guitars, at this location. He is happy to offer a FREE consultation to our guests! This service is available by appointment.
  • This is a cozy little place with a comfortable bed. The amenities were nice touches, such as a lovely continental breakfast, nice soaps and lotions, and comfy pillows. The communication was excellent. And the place was sparkling clean. Would definitely stay here again.

    Laura2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Hosts are incredibly friendly and checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying ourselves. We really appreciated all that they did and had prepared for us. Very short drive to UConn and a great place to stay if you are doing anything on campus. Thanks for everything!!

    Kevin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • In the past 4 years we have stayed in many Airbnbs in the area, and this place was probably the best value in terms of costs and amenities and space. It snowed during my 2 day visit and they made sure that the walkway was clear for us to walk and even snowplowed around my car and help me get snow off of my car. Much appreciate this! I was about 15 minutes from campus. Thanks for being patient with my change in reservations.

    Pamela2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn's place was a terrific find! We communicated about arriving late; they left a driveway light on for us which made it easier to see the house from the road, and getting in the unit was very easy with her instructions. It was extremely clean, and we were impressed by lots of small touches: lamps on both sides of the bed, a few books to read, a floor mat for dirty shoes, luggage rack, etc. etc. The heat works great, warms the whole room up in minutes, and is easy to control. The space is not big, so I wouldn't recommend coming with multiple large items - but it's put together perfectly. The fact that she leaves some breakfast items in the kitchenette area is really helpful since it's not near any shops; I was especially impressed that even the coffee tasted fresh. We didn't meet our hosts, but we hope to be back another time.

    Mary2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot, gracious hosts, very affordable. My stay was very pleasant, and I hope to stay there next time I'm in town.

    Scott2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Bedroom/bathroom combination apartment is attached to the main house but separate enough to give privacy. Lynn and Mike were great hosts and very receptive / checked in just the right amount of times. The bedroom does have a small port window on the ceiling that lets light in during daylight hours but Lynn provided eye masks to help not disturb sleep. Great location close to Wilimantec and UConn

Rustic cottage on on Little River, a lovely trout stream that swishes around rocks. Great place for kids to play! Lake across the street. Canoe. Woods all around. Very quiet except for the sound of the river. Nice deck extends almost to the river. Charcoal grill. In all ways cozy and pleasant. Nice for couples, writers, artists, travelers, families, and pets—a place for quiet, peaceful people. (A note about the lake. There's no beach or anything. Access is just a narrow path down to the water.)
You have the house to yourself except, on a basement level, there is an office with one person in it. You won't need to go there, and she won't need to go into your space. The living space is on two floors. Downstairs: living room, dining room, kitchen, all essentially one space. Upstairs, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a loft area with two single beds, and a bathroom.
We live in a rural area surrounded by woods and water. It's quiet and safe. The amenities of Norwich, Conn. are 15-20 minutes away.
  • Glenn is responsive, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. We are so happy with our stay in his peaceful writers retreat. If you're searching for a break from the chaos of city living, this is your place! Waking up to the sounds of the babbling brook out front is only surpassed by the fresh air and tranquility this cabin has to offer. Orchards and farms within 20 min. Highly recommend holmbrook orchards for their hybrid apples, fresh bread baked daily, and delicious selection of baked goods. Amazing ice cream at Ekonke turkey farm.

  • A+++++ We had an absolutely superb experience from start to finish! From the very well-appointed accommodations to the absolutely gorgeous grounds, the "Writer's Retreat" was just what the doctor ordered. Being able to hear the river from the living room and deck was so very lovely. The house had everything we needed including cooking essentials, a pack and play with adorable children's quilts for our infant, ample linens and towels, board games, an extensive library and all of the necessities to enjoy the great outdoors. Beyond that, Glenn and Solange are fabulous hosts and we truly enjoyed getting to know them. We'll be back for sure!!!

  • Great place. Secluded but very accessible. Clean stream. Comfortable lodging. Accommodating hosts

    Cecilia2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay where you can step out the door, sit on the deck and watch the river this is the place for you! The property is absolutely beautiful. We fly fished in the river, hiked along the river banks and got a fresh water massage in the beautiful waterfall. Across the street was a narrow path to a small lake where we kayaked. (We brought our inflatable one; easy to carry.)The house is roomy and comfortable. Great place to read, draw, play cards, etc. The host is very attentive and kind.

    Lynn M.2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn and his wife are super accommodating and friendly. The place itself was very roomy for my family (spouse plus two little kids) and if you're looking for a chill place to stay where you're right in the outdoors, this place is great. Would definitely stay again.

    Rita2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I loved spending time at Glenns house. The residential area through us off at first but once we got to Glenn's house he ushered us to the back of his property to find a charming house in what looks like an enchanted forest. Complete change of scenery. While the main house is just nearby, the feeling you get at his rental is like being remote in the wild. Its really wonderful. The peaceful stream is right off the deck and lulls you to sleep quite wonderfully. Glenn made sure we had all of the things necessary for cooking our meals and eating out on the deck under candles and trees. We had a couple challenges with bugs and other creatures but hey that's what you get when you're in nature. I got to spend quality time wading through the stream looking for trout. I ended up catching 100 total, bass, trout and sunfish in our 7 days that included 3 that I was able to keep and eat so I would say its pretty stocked with fish. We grilled them right outside on the deck. The stream itself is just beautiful and so peaceful. Oh and we came home one night to see a fox! Glenn was a great host with super communication and always available for the things we needed. If it wasn't there he got it for us. He even shared his worms with me for fishing. We both really enjoyed just being around the house with not many other needs. Thank you Glenn for everything!

    Greg2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Glenn's place and it was just as wonderful. Great fishing in a beautiful location. Comfortable home, welcoming host, well equipped kitchen, board games and books make for a relaxing get away. I love sitting on the deck listening to the river just outside. We will be back again!

Literally steps from the UConn campus (park your car here and in 3 minutes walking you're at the center of campus!) and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Modest decor, lots of windows, lovely new floors and paint, full kitchen with new appliances, full bath, 2 bedrooms, eating area next to the kitchen, laundry center, access to picnic table outside, view of large back yard with gazebo.
Although we're by the campus, you feel like you're in the countryside when you look out the apartment windows.
Our neighborhood is down the street from the center of campus. You can't beat the location. A supermarket, pharmacy , restaurants, and shops are also within walking distance.

Built in 1890, this home is a classic colonial with many beautiful original details including large windows that let in plenty of natural light, but updated in all the right ways (kitchen, bathrooms, energy-efficient windows). It is tastefully decorated in a modern transitional style to create a calm, relaxing, atmosphere. Your room is your oasis. *I am a professor and because of ethics concerns, we kindly ask undergraduate college students to refrain from booking a stay in our home.
You will have a large bedroom all to yourself. It is fully furnished with a comfy queen bed, dresser, desk, TV, and ample closet space to hang your clothes. Two large windows and one small give the space plenty of natural light while cordless, top-down, bottom-up shades provide as much privacy control as you want. We provide multiple streaming services (SlingTV, Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+) for your viewing pleasure, or pick out a book to read from the bookshelf.
The home is ideally located at the top of the historic Victorian Hill Section of Willimantic, walking distance to ECSU and many downtown amenities, and an easy drive to UCONN. Charming is how I would describe our neighborhood, and we have many wonderful, friendly neighbors.

Country Living with Modern Conveniences. Authentic and pristine eighteenth century home located in the northeast corner of Connecticut in quaint Canterbury on scenic Route 169. Close to multiple area attractions; including Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, vineyards, Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, Rhode Island beaches, Putnam antiques, Hartford and Providence. The house is located on fifteen acres of the original 580 working acres of the farm. There is an open backyard with areas to relax.
There is early morning traffic. If you are not an early riser, ear plugs may be preferred. Socks or slippers are recommended due to original wide pine hardwood floors.
The Prudence Crandall Museum is close. The house is located on scenic Route 169 with many vineyards and quaint coffee shops. The Brooklyn and Woodstock Fairs are just up the street, when in season.
  • I'm an antique house lover so this was nirvana! I've never slept in a house this old, so it was delightful to have so many of the original features still in place. The king sized bed was luxurious, the room spacious, the neighbors who showed us around were gracious and yummy cookie makers! The bathroom heater struggled to warm the space, but it was still a vast improvement over what its owners in the early 1700's must have endured! I recommend this lovely place, especially to anyone who wants an idea of what a dwelling was like in colonial days. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Melanie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

FEMALES ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS. Female guests say they feel safer this way & this is my policy for that reason. Private room with entire house to share. 3 blocks from Eastern Connecticut State University & 9 miles from the University of Connecticut. Within walking distance to outstanding restaurants, public transportation, a library, a post office, hospitals, and a great food co-op that is open to the public. The house has a calm, quiet, ambiance, in a nice neighborhood, and has new comfy beds.
This house was built in 1865. The woman who owned it before I did took great care in its restoration. This listing is for a room with a twin-sized bed. There are two other bedrooms for Airbnb travelers. The entire house is for your enjoyment. I have a front parlor, a dining room/sitting room, an eat-in kitchen, and a cozy library filled mostly with art books as I am an art teacher in a local middle school. There are two bathrooms, both having claw-foot tubs and one with a walk-in shower. All bathrooms are shared with owner and other guests. The backyard is nice and private, fully fenced in with lots of trees.
The neighborhood is filled with beautiful Victorian homes. It is easy walking distance to Eastern, a variety of restaurants, pubs, and local shops. There is bus service to UCONN, Hartford, and Boston. We are in close access to a few rails-to-trails venues and the Willimantic River is close by for kayaking. Several area lakes are also nearby for swimming and kayaking/canoeing. The beaches of Rhode Island are just about an hour's ride. New York City is about a two and a half hour train ride from Hartford or New Haven. Boston is about an hour away by car.
  • Lori is really friendly and helpful. This house is very good for Uconn students and Willimantic is really safe. I took bus to school in Storrs, convenient and safe. Though it might takes about one hour from home to classroom, including the walking distance. At first I felt it's wasting time, but gradually I got used to that. Housemates are also friendly and helpful when I lived there. Lori provided almost all necessary things for life. And there is a university near house. I usually study at the library of that university at weekend. Highly recommend this house! Really perfect!

    彩云2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Lori's place! Clean, quiet, and comfortable, just as in the pictures/descriptions. Easy check-in process. Would certainly stay here again if in the area!

    Alex2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lori’s place is conveniently located near the school and beautiful historic homes. There is a lot of busy traffic but nothing that a sound machine won’t muffle out. Check in and check out is so easy and convenient. Lori has directions written out well so you do not have to question things. In addition, another lady is staying longer term in the room next door, within the house and she is friendly and helpful.

  • I loved the charm of this old farmhouse home. Jodi was very communicative and offered tips on where to get great pizza. I imagine this would make a great quiet get-away for a couple, or for anyone needing a long stay to clear their mind. I enjoyed my stay in beautiful Canterbury!

  • A wonderful restored old farm house with character and charm. Clean, well appointed and nice to be able to use kitchen and laundry although I only stayed one night. I definitely will come back again soon for a longer stay. Jodi is an excellent host!

  • My daughter and I were looking for a simple and reasonable place to stay while visiting my son at school for the weekend, and Jodi's house was beyond what we imagined! Absolutely adorable, charming, and historic, super cozy, and we loved Jodi's thoughtfulness of leaving cookies and granola bars out. I wish we'd been able to stay longer, and hope to come back!

  • What a cool experience! With over 300 years of history in this home and property, we took an enriching step back in time. Jodi was an amazing host and gave us really cool/off the beaten path recommendations. She has put an enormous amount of love and care in her home and it shows in every way. Walking into this home brought on a comforting and peaceful feeling. Having a cup of coffee on the back porch each morning, looking out over the landscape was wonderful!

    Heather2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint country home Nicely decorated with a nice yard , very cozy

    Matt2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are interested in visiting the lower New England states, I while heartedly recommend Jodi's historical home. It truly is a slice of old New England, like almost taking a house museum tour and then getting to sleep there. No worries, Jodi's place has all the modern amenities like climate control and modern bathroom and kitchen. We will definitely return.

House in the Woods is both secluded and close to most of what you want! Five minutes from ECSU; 15 from UConn; 5 mins from shopping; half hour from Mark Twain House. Much more! Still...once down the driveway, you're tucked away – surrounded by sky, trees pond. Listing includes 1 bedroom, 1 bath; for more rooms, see Woods Room - Fresh Air and Peace, and Lake Room - Fresh Air and Peace. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families. People from all walks of life welcome.
The Main Bedroom has a day bed. It can be made up as 1 single, 2 singles, or a an extra-large King bed. ARE YOU SENSITIVE TO NOISES? Please be aware this bedroom is below a bathroom. You may hear water flowing, especially early in the morning. If this kind of noise disturbs you, there are complimentary earplugs. We call our place The House in the Woods. The reason we fell in love with the house was the 73 windows...with no other house in view at all...and no roads going by our yard. We love the light...combined with the seclusion provided by the dense woods. Beyond that, we love the the ample kitchen; the relaxed breezeway; the comfy dining room and living room; the ceiling fans; the cozy fireplace; the decks on east and west; the gas grill; the brook and the pond; the "camp out" space (read campfire and picnic area); and the trampoline and covered (unheated) swimming pool. There is a large smart TV in the basement, as well as an elliptical machine and a weight bench and hand weights. Guests are free to use them, with prior arrangement.

    Heidi2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Judy and Terry are the most wonderful hosts. Their home was as listed and even more gorgeous in person. My girlfriend and I spent the weekend here and was able to make use of the outside grill, kitchen, indoor pool and felt the most relax just hanging around the house. One of our most favorite events was movie night at the Mansfield Drive-In theater which is 5 mins away from the house. It was so fun we went twice!! It was a great location for local ice cream shops and farmer's markets that we were also able to check out. Over the years I have used Airbnb, at least 5 years, I have always loved checking out new places and homes. I have never stayed at an Airbnb more than once, but at Judy and Terry's place, I am definitely coming back! They have welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like a part of their family from the moment we met them. Extremely thankful and would highly recommend!!

Fully furnished master bedroom with private bathroom. You will have full access to rest of the house. We have two fireplaces. In a safe, very quiet, and wooden neighborhood. The house is less than 10 min. driving, 30 min. walking, and 15 min. by bike to get to UCONN. I work mostly from 8 - 4 and my children are gone in school during this time. I will be available via phone. We use the kitchen in the afternoon and go to bed rather early.

  • I borrowed Bene's house for my son because the school dormitory was closed. Bene was very friendly. She told me in detail that she would wait for my son to arrive in the house from 12 to 14 pm. She received my son and introduced him to the nearby buses in detail. Bene's house is very clean. Although my son only stayed for one night, it was very comfortable and would go there if possible.

  • Wonderful location. Beautiful setting. Serene atmosphere. It is so much better than a tiny hotel. We had the best time visiting.

    Lindsey2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Sarah's! There were 5 of us all together, college roommates who graduated *ahem* a few years ago :). Now we're all working Mom's and needed a little getaway and Sarah's beautiful home was the perfect place for it. We took a long walk around the peaceful property, visited some beautiful horses, and ventured out for a bit to try two nearby wineries. We all felt the stress of our everyday lives melt away while enjoying each other's company in such a tranquil spot. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Great stay! The farm's beautiful in the fall. The beds and couch were super comfortable and the fresh eggs were a delicious bonus! Our check-in was late and Sarah very accommodating. I'd certainly be back in the summer to try out the pool. Thanks!

Our group had planned a trip to Connecticut for an event at the Lebanon fairgrounds, Sarah’s place was a perfect location (less than a 15 minute drive), had enough room for our larger party and was reasonably priced. Her house and property are beautiful. Our group contained larger people and we didn’t feel cramped together at all, the place is very spacious and I loved how roomy the shower was! We were blessed to have beautiful weather during our stay and got to spend the mornings sitting out on the patio listening to the wind chime enjoying the gorgeous view. We had a very nice stay, wish we had enough time to enjoy the pool!

  • This was a return stay for us. Keri is a superb host, responsive to all our questions and needs, warm and friendly. The apartment is like a cozy private nest in the trees, very quiet, super clean, and very comfortable resting and working spaces. Location is great for us- walking distance to our relatives in the neighborhood (also lovely quiet roads for walking or running), and an easy drive to UConn. Highly recommended!

She went above and beyond by giving us fantastic restaurant recommendations (definitely ask her b/c she will point you in the right direction) and checked in on us too! I highly recommend Keri's place for anyone looking for somewhere cozy and quaint to stay.

We live in an historic district with lots of funky places to see and things to do. We can help you maximize your stay, offering you information that will make your days pleasant and fruitful!
We live in a historic area of the town since we boast the most Victorian homes per block than anywhere in the country. Between history, international dining, sights from here to Mystic, New Haven, Hartford, the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University and beyond, you'll find what you are looking for.

This listing is for a room with a Queen-sized bed. There are two other bedrooms for Airbnb guests.
We are in close access to a few rails-to-trails venues and the Willimantic Rive is close by for kayaking. Several area lakes are also nearby for swimming and kayaking/canoeing. The beaches of Rhode Island are just about an hour's ride. New York City is about a two and a half hour train ride from Hartford or New Haven. Boston is about an hour away by car.

Whether you want to experience an authentic pond-side cabin or test out tiny-house living, this is the place. There is total access to the private, spring and stream-fed pond, which is perfect for swimming, canoeing or fishing. There are old trees, flowers and forests on the ten acres that also back onto three sides of an Audubon forest of 160 acres. You will be surrounded by nature and all it's wonders. Fantastic escape from city life and to reap the benefits of country living in total privacy.
The cottage is a renovated, old cabin that was relocated from a local lake. It has a marvelous and close-up view over the pond, which is yours to enjoy. It has a comfortable double bed and a fold-out single bed (that folds into an armchair), a kitchen and bathroom. It has all amenities, but it's rustic and small, (e.g. the water heater is little, so shower's need to be fast, the fridge is tiny and there is a two-burner stove top.) There is a canoe, kayak, floaties and a fishing rod for the pond, with lots of lounge furniture to hangout on. There is an old, screened-in changing room near the deck at your disposal. The property is completely quiet, and the nearest neighbors are far enough that you cannot see nor hear them. There is a 2 person maximum, but one, small child can be included. No pets. There is another house on the property, which cannot be seen from the cottage, and is a distance away. Sometimes I may be there, but other than that everything is yours.
The property is situated in a region known as the 'quiet corner' of Northeastern Connecticut. This is because it is more rural than southern or central Connecticut, and has large areas of farmland, rivers and lakes, and state forests. The area was originally inhabited by the Mohegan, Pequot, Niantic, Nipmuc, Mattabesic, Schaghticoke, Paugussett Indians. It is a historically rich part of America and was one of the first areas settled by Europeans. Remnants of its past can be found in the many museums, old towns and the architecture. During the warmer months there is a wide selection local farmers' markets, selling organically grown produce and products. There are two wineries close by: the closest is Sharpe Hill Vineyard in Pomfret that requires advance booking to eat, but you can go for a tasting without a booking; the other is The Vineyard at Hillyland in Scotland, which doesn't need an appointment, but doesn't have food. Some others are: Lebanon Green Vineyards and Mulberry Vineyard. The nearby towns of Putnam, Woodstock and Brimfield (a little further away) are all well-known for their antique stores and restaurants. And for those interested there are yard and church sales throughout the warmer months. The property is 50 minutes from the CT coast with its beautiful beaches, seafood restaurants, sailing adventures, fishing and shopping. It’s a very easy day-trip on Route 395. Mystic, Stonington and Groton Long Point are just a few of the intriguing, seaside towns famous for sailing, fishing and, in the past, whaling. The Mystic Seaport is a wonderful museum full of maritime and historical information, with tours of refurbished boats and historical architecture. Mystic Aquarium is a unique aquarium experience with events and programs. CTs' many waterways and rivers were used in the past to power mills, and the area was one of the worlds' biggest producers of threads and fabrics. Many mill towns (some renovated, others abandoned) give a glimpse into the intriguing and vibrant industries that were once there. Norwich, Willimantic and Chester are all close by and have fascinating museums and architecture that are good examples of that period.) The Mohegan Sun casino is about 45 minutes away which has world class concerts, shows and restaurants, all year round. The Pequot Museum is a quaint place to visit. There are many things to do in the area, but its greatest asset is the quiet and peaceful mingling with nature that it offers. You truly enter a past world and can escape from a hectic modern life.
