Just outside the Lake District National Park but within a 30 minute drive of Keswick you get the best of both worlds of exploring the attractions of the Northen Lake District and the Solway Coast with its quaint seaside towns. The caravan is on the outskirts allonby. Allonby is a village on the coast of the Allerdale district in Cumbria, England. The village is 5 miles north of Maryport and 8 miles south of Silloth. The town of Carlisle is located 26 miles away.

Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.

Overlooking the Solway Firth with uninterrupted views of the the sea and the Scottish hills beyond, this delightful cottage is over 200 years old with 24" thick walls, originally a fishermen's cottage. Small and compact but full of character and charm, with an open fire - an ideal couples and/or walkers retreat. There is a local village store and there are also pubs and several eating places in the village. An ideal location to explore Western Cumbria.

The cottage has been tastefully updated and decorated by the owners with all amenities for modern living but retaining a quirky, seaside charm. Sleeps 5 plus a baby, no smoking, WiFi, dog-friendly. We charge £25 per dog.
