  • My husband and I had a last-minute "oops" with our hotel reservation, and found ourselves without any place to stay after dinner. Emmett was very quick to respond - within minutes of requesting a place to stay. He was hospitable on very short notice and we are thankful we had a place to stay! We did not meet Emmett, but the home was lovely and we met the very friendly housecat, Clyde.

    Ellen2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Emmet's house is a little hidden off the road. For one night after a rafting trip, perfect and very close to the river. The house is beautifully renovated and has exceptional common areas. The bedrooms are great - the beds are very comfortable. Emmet is very uncomplicated, even the fact that I made a mistake when booking a day was no problem. I can recommend him as a host without any restrictions.

    Sordo2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and a great location. I totally recommend staying at Emmett's and going rafting. He has put together an excellent team resulting in an awesome experience all around.

    Nancy2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Emmett was extremely prompt in helping us with our "very last minute" accommodations. His place is amazing and I know the next time I stay there it will even be better! You will be amazed at the space Emmett has created with this "gem by the river" my next time up I'll be sure to "ride the Tidal Bore" with shubieriverwranglers.ca also! The place was sparkling clean and will be a place to seek out when heading to Nova Scotia to experience the bay of Fundy Tides. You'll be happy you did!

    Bob2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Emmett's place is awesome. The house is a cross between a Southern Plantation and a cathedral. His breakfasts are first rate too. We came to Truro because we wanted to see the tidal bore which is literally five minutes from Emmett's house. Getting to go white water rafting during the tidal bore was a dream come true. We highly recommend Emmett's place.

  • Beautiful home! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming.

  • We were supposed to spend one night but we so enjoyed our first night that we decided to stay for another one. It's a really good quality-price. The host is really kind and communicate fast. It's the perfect get away for two and it's pet friendly. The house is well isolated. Gavin started the fire before we arrived so it was warm and cozy when we get in. There is every little thing you need in camping. We really enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone that would like to have a wild experience, take time for themselves and enjoy the view of the tides. :)

    Claudy2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a cozy and relaxing evening at Haggis' Cabin. The location is beautiful and the description reflects the space well. Gavin was easy to communicate with and we very much appreciated that it was a dog friendly accommodation!

  • We got to see the river reverse itself twice. The stars were brilliant. The cabin..... cosy

    Greg2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin, in the woods with a lovely water view. Comfortable beds in a cozy space. Very clean. Enough amenities that it is comfortable, yet still rustic. Gavin is an outstanding host, who went above and beyond. Will certainly return.

Situated at the end of a lane, the neighbours soon fade into the background of this little waterfront cottage on Shortts Lake. The covered front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The cottage is just 5 minutes from Brookfield and 15 minutes from downtown Truro. 20 minutes from Shubenacadie Wildlife Park and 35 from Halifax International Airport. Close to everything you need for the perfect relaxing get-away. Pets will be considered on request.
Small, open and airy, yet cozy, 2 bedroom cottage that sleeps 4 with a queen bed and bunk beds. On-site washer with a clothesline for drying. Full bath with standing shower (no tub). Fully appointed kitchen with all appliances and dishes, a covered porch and patio furniture.
The cottage is located at the end of a private lane. The neighbours are close, but quiet. Make sure to visit the famous Brookfield Bakery! I highly recommend trying the round brown bread! There is a coffee shop, liquor store, and pharmacy for all your essentials. There are tons of photo opportunities at the Brookfield Marsh and Walking Trail (on the right just before the village). The Shubenacadie Wildlife park is just a short drive away - the perfect spot to spend an afternoon seeing our local wildlife and enjoying the picnic grounds. Victoria Park in Truro is an amazing oasis, with play area and swimming pool, walking trails and waterfalls. Bring your kids and your camera! Truro has great shopping (lots of unique shops downtown), a movie theater, great restaurants, farmer's market, Clay Cafe (a great rainy day activity for the kids) etc. Rafting on the Shubenacadie River is always a great time.
  • Krista is an excellent host. Quick to respond and kind. The place was clean and set up with everything we needed. We hope to visit again in the future! A lovely little spot for a weekend escape!

This modern, eclectically appointed apartment is centrally located in the historical village of Maitland. Across the street is Canada's Oldest General store, there are walking trails, museums and Tidal Bore rafting companies. It is big, bright and open with a beautiful view of the Bay and is fully equipped for a night's stay or a week. It is the perfect home base to explore our shore as well as being central to a lot of scenic day trips. Come experience the beauty we live with year round.
Our apartment with a view is on the top floor of an older house that at the moment has a very small flooring store on the lower floor. It has it's own entrance and guests can come and go at their leisure. The apartment is decorated with local art and photography taken by friends and 4H members. You will feel right at home here in "Downtown Maitland" where local people are happy to talk and help make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
Across the street is Canada's Oldest General Store, Frieze and Roy which has a laundromat, everything you need in the way of groceries as well as a liquor outlet and a small cafe. And Ice Cream! A beautiful walking path begins right across the road and it takes you along the old Acadian dyke, down to the wharf to one of the rafting companies then up to the Lawrence House Museum that everyone should visit when they're on this shore. From there, walk along the Duck's Unlimited pond up to the old cemetery then return back by walking along the streets all the while admiring the old houses. Art and craft galleries are close by as well as our cultural centre that hosts musical events.
  • Such a great person who helped me out during a storm.

    Jeff2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne was fabulous - and the space was one of the best I have stayed in! Very stylish and well supplied with everything a person could need! They have spared no expense to make it a wonderful space to stay. We were there during the arrival of Hurricane Dorian and Joanne and Glenn were a great help checking on us and bringing water, candles and anything else they felt we might need to weather the storm. We were glad we could stay and keep an eye on everything there and felt much safer in the Apartment then we would have anywhere else. I would definately come back and stay again (sans hurricane....). Thank you Joanne - you are the best!

Sneak away to cook, eat, relax and enjoy the amenities in which this unique space has to offer. The Getaway is your perfect spot to chase the tide, walk on the ocean floor, go rafting and experience the tidal bore!
Built as a bank in the 1990's the space was more recently used as a farm to table restaurant which has now been converted into a 2 bedroom open concept living space complete with built in bar, beverage room, lounge area, dining area, desk/workspace, chaise reading corner and of course, the star of the show; a commercial chef's kitchen with gas 6 top stove, grill and convection oven. Sneak away for a romantic evening for two while you cook together and relax, or the perfect spot for two couples to hang out and unwind, or get the friends together for a weekend getaway of wine, cooking and baking! The possibilities are endless with this concept accommodation. Price is set based on two individuals, extra guests will have an extra charge and the 2nd bedroom will be opened for you.
We are just off a secondary highway at the entry to the quaint seaside village of Maitland. A heritage conservation district, it is full of architectural gems and history. There is a one stop general store (the longest running in Canada since 1839), for all your needs from laundry, grocery, convenience, liquor, and a cafe. Don't forget to explore our beautiful coastline with Beach Access at Anthony Provincial Park, the wharf in the village proper, and of course, the location of the world's highest tides Burntcoat Head Park.
  • This was a very unique spot. I travelled with 2 of my teen daughters. We had fun using the kitchen which is saying something because I don’t enjoy cooking usually. The space is clean and quiet. Highly recommended if you want a place to relax away from it all.

    Paula2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super trendy space with an open concept. Rental is tucked away in a small town (rural) setting. We were able to see the beginning of fall foliage everywhere we looked, and we were thrilled about that!

The beds were comfortable, the common space was roomy, and there were plenty of outdoor seating areas to enjoy. The location was perfect for the day trips we took (Tatamagouche, Burncoat Head Park, Halifax/Dartmouth, Truro, Shubanacadie Wildlife Park...). *Check-ins not available on Saturdays, but be in touch if your visit spans a Saturday.* Bright, newly renovated bedroom and bathroom in 100-year-old farmhouse on the Bay of Fundy, 2km from the historic village of Maitland, 45 mins from the airport. Rise early with the farmers on this organic veggie farm, or sleep in, enjoying your own space with entry for guests. Close to tidal bore rafting and Burntcoat Head Park, great for cyclists on the Glooscap Trail or visitors to the Annapolis Valley.
Front, first-storey room of our farmhouse with a bay window and guest entry off the front porch. Right across the street from Gallery 215, featuring local art. Queen bed with memory foam mattress and feather duvet (there is also a quilt if you prefer); pull-out couch with comfortable double mattress. Continental breakfast at your leisure with bar fridge, coffee/tea and toaster in your room. *See also our other available space, an Air BNB listing "Suite Selma: Bright & Cozy Bedroom on Organic Farm."*
The Bay of Fundy is a beautiful and powerful place where the highest tides in the world have been recorded. These can be enjoyed twice every 24 hours at viewing points within minutes of our farm, or by jumping aboard a raft to ride the tidal bore. Several local companies offer this adventure, and we are happy to recommend a few. Frieze & Roy is Canada's oldest general store, located in the heart of the village of Maitland, great for an ice cream stop and offers diner/bistro-style meals 8am-8pm in the summer season. Nearby parks offer a range of guided or self-guided walks along the shores of the bay. Continue west along the Glooscap Trail to the Annapolis Valley to tour wine country, and take in a couple wineries along the way. As a sommelier, I am happy to recommend a wine experience to suit your taste.
  • Moira (and the farm) was an absolute delight! My wife and I stayed here, had a wonderfully prepared organic dinner, explored the farm and slept well among the stars and piece and quiet at the mouth of the Schubenacedie on the Bay of Fundy. Just 45-60 minutes from Halifax airport, and nearby to many adventure opportunities, this lovely town and farm were a perfect match for us. Highly recommend a stay with Moira!

This well appointed room is comfortable and tasteful. It overlooks the property and countryside and gives way to gorgeous sunrises. We highly suggest this room if you are an early riser:) A full course breakfast is included.
The Blue room captures the essence of coastal life in Nova Scotia, marrying the sea with the beautiful views of the countryside. If you enjoy early mornings and gorgeous sunrises, this is the room for you. The heritage house is lovingly restored and tastefully decorated with an array of artwork. It’s located in the heritage village of Maitland on the beautiful and ever changing world famous tides of the Bay of Fundy. It is situated on 13 acres of lush wetlands and wild fields. Relax and rejuvenate in this peaceful and natural setting to the song of the local birds and buzz of nature. Outside there is a rustic covered deck area perfect for lounging in the hammock, reading a book, or listening to the plethora of birds. There is an outdoor fire pit ( when fire ban is absent) & bocceball. We offer a creative, fresh and locally sourced breakfast in the morning which is included. We are foodies in the industry so we love sharing our creations with guests. We can cater to any dietary restrictions with fair notice. The village has a general store for basic snack needs, laundry, liquor store etc. It’s just a five minute walk up the street. We also have a great Eatery in the village with wonderful locally sourced slow food, entertainment, art and drinks. There is a once in a lifetime rafting trips during the summer season, just a ten minute walk through the village as well as a museum paying tribute to the days of shipbuilding which created this town. Other artisan shops, parks, wharfs and walking trails offer adventures for everyone.
Quiet, peaceful, surrounded by nature and wildlife. The village is quaint and somewhat sleepy. A wide array of beautiful architectural gems line the streets and friendly colourful people reside within. We are just a short walk to the bay with beautiful parks, walkings trails and gorgeous natural scenery.
  • Very cool historical building with friendly hosts! Danny and Kelly were away but they had some wonderful friends looking after the place and left some great croissants for breakfast. Place was clean & quiet- a nice getaway.

    Reuben2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice B&B with awesome home made fresh breakfast from Kelly. We enjoyed our stay really much and we can definitely recommend this place.

    Matthias2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful. Kelly was a great host.

    Allan2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful 150 year old home, superb breakfast, host terrific and informative. Private bathroom, but not in room. Very close to tidal bore rafting. We would definitely go back. Only downside, not a lot of restaurants in the area. Enjoy!!

    Ben2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is beautiful, spacious and full of interesting art and books. The outside deck is a lovely shady place to relax. Kelly’s breakfasts were fabulous, and his tips for getting the most out of the area invaluable.

    Beth2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house! Very stylish and sparkling clean. Had an amazing breakfast and host was very friendly! Really enjoyed our stay- just wished we could have stayed longer!

    Sarah2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the "blue room," and had our own private bathroom that is outside the bedroom. No one else was staying on our [second] floor at the time, so although the floors can be creaky, our stay was quiet. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The house is decorated nicely, with what looks like original art and architecture, and also some parts are nicely renovated as well. No AC, but it was cool enough inside that we were comfortable without it. We did tidal bore rafting with Shubenacadie River Runners nearby and that was fun. Also saw the river when it was low/no tide at Burntcoat Head Park, that was really cool.

    Eva2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, wonderful property close to the Bay of Fundy. Kelly supplied amazing breakfasts and lots of advice on places to visit. Area is a bit lacking in restaurants and bars(none!!)and you will have to travel to find these, but was very peaceful and restful which we wanted after a long road trip

Three luxurious private rooms, each with a queen bed, view of the water, and private, full bathroom. Common area has a fire place, games and everything needed for a wonderful time.
Eagle View and Chestnut Hollow are on the second floor. Sailor's Rest on the main floor is fully accessible. All three rooms have views of the water, queen beds and private bathroom. Maitland is Nova Scotia's first historic village. It was known as the shipbuilding capital in the mid to late 1800's and is where the largest wooden ship of it's time was built - the W.D. Lawrence. The tiny village is walk-able and you will see many great examples of the architecture of this era. Maitland is also home of Canada's longest running general store, the Frieze and Roy. The village is one of the best locations to watch the tidal bore and we are just 20 minutes from Burnt Coat Head where the highest recorded tides in the world were measured.
  • The location is beautiful over looking the river and perfect for viewing the tidal bore. The bedroom and bath are clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The hosts were helpful with suggestions and information for our trip. Delicious, big breakfast!

    Belinda2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! Such a great atmosphere relaxing around the fireplace with Warren and other guests. Warren is such a wealth of information. The rooms were great and the breakfast was A++ with all locally sourced items.

    Robert2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night in the Eagle View Room at Cresthaven by the sea. We were greeted warmly by Warren who took our luggage up to the room which was very stylish and spacious with views out across the bay. We relaxed with a beer on the balcony and watched a bald eagle hunting for fish on the beach. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. In the morning Warren cooked us an excellent breakfast during which we sat and chatted about life in Nova Scotia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cresthaven and would fully recommend it to other travellers.

There are many wonderful places to hike and enjoy the greatest tides in the world. It will be my pleasure to share with you all the amazing activities of the region. The breakfasts are always freshly made with organic and as local as possible ingredients. We can satisfy most diets so if you have requests, please let us know.
Larochelle will be 151 years old this year! This was built as the parsonage for the methodist church beside it. It was built on acadian foundations from Ville Robert. This is all on Mi'Kmaq land and the history is quite fascinating. I'll be glad to share the stories.
  • We booked this Airbnb last minute and it ended up being the best accommodation of our whole stay in Nova Scotia! The hosts are super welcoming, fun to be around and really good cooks! The room and the house in general is beautifully decorated and there is a warm feeling to it, you just don’t want to leave :) The breakfast was delicious and kept us full until the afternoon. I would for sure stay there again!

    Delphine2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the Dahlia Room at La Maison Larochelle. Nadya greeted us warmly and we made ourselves at home, reading and relaxing under a tree with views of the surrounding hills. The bed was perfect, our shared bathroom was super clean and well stocked, sunrise in the morning was heavenly, and breakfast (big yogourt bowl with generous fruits, nuts and chia seeds ... not to mention maple syrup) was delicious. The house is brimming with charm and character, and Nadya and her partner are kind and helpful. Highly recommended.

  • Well what an absolute treat! Such friendly, warm hosts. A comfortable nights stay in a very artsy, historic house at very short notice.International guests, dining together, drinking and eating until way too late! Breakfast was the best we have ever had in Air B n B. Serene, quiet, romantic location. Ocean floor walking nearby. Just perfect. Thank you so much.

  • Lovely room with so many personal and stylish touches. Awesome well-appointed living room with comfy seating and charming decor. We felt so welcomed when we arrived and immediately felt relaxed. The breakfast is definitely 5 stars - oh my goodness! We wondered when we saw the listing if the value would be there; no doubt about it. An excellent find.

  • Amazing accommodation in a peaceful surrounding, really beautiful interior, comfy beds and everything was nice and clean, Dom and Nadya were amazing hosts.

    Bea2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a home away from home. Stayed for 2 nights with my spouse and toddler. Nadya went above and beyond to accommodate us, even filled up a kiddie pool for my daughter to play in. Breakfast was amazing each morning, and again was accommodating for my toddler. We also enjoyed discussion with Nadya over meals. We would recommend Nadya’s place to everybody!

    Meghan2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nadya-Lyse was a fantastic host who provided us with an upgraded room, prepared wonderful gourmet breakfasts, and even called a local historian to come over when she found out we were doing some research. The home itself is wonderfully decorated in the a style that goes with this historic building, and the beds were super comfy. It was great to talk to her as well about the area in general. It is obvious why she is a super-host.

  • Wonderful spot and great people. We stayed with our 4 adult kids and rented the whole place and it was perfect. Good Location to check out the tides in the area. Wish we had more time to get to know our hosts as we were quite busy. They were very friendly and hospitable! They were very helpful, helped us by booking restaurants and white water rafting trips. Wonderful rooms and bathrooms, and the breakfasts were awesome!! Highly recommend them, great location and accommodations. Very comfortable and nice common area to sit and relax. No concerns at all!! Definitely worth staying. Plan for restaurants well ahead as there are few in this area ....

  • Nydia and Dom welcomed a group of 8 crazy ladies into their home for a bachelorette party. They were so laid back and welcoming! We went white water rafting near by and checked out lots of natural beauty in the nearby parks. We spent the evenings on their beautiful property having campfires and lots of laughs. Nydia and Dom encouraged us to be as loud as we wanted as their was no one near by to disturb. They had absolutely amazing breakfasts cooked for us in the morning that included local fruit and fresh cooked biscuits. The biscuits themselves are worth the drive to Selma! Their place was a great getaway for a group of friends to have a great time together! We had so much fun we are hoping to make this an annual trip.

*Check-ins not available on Saturdays, but be in touch if your visit spans a Saturday.* Bright, newly renovated bedroom in 100-year-old farmhouse on the Bay of Fundy, 2km from the historic village of Maitland, 45 mins from the airport. Rise early with the farmers on this organic veggie farm, or sleep in, enjoying your own space with entry and porch just for guests. Close to tidal bore rafting and Burntcoat Head Park, great for cyclists on the Glooscap Trail, or visitors to the Annapolis Valley.
Second-storey room of our farmhouse. Right across the street from Gallery 215, featuring local art. Double bed with quilt. Shared bathroom just down the hall. *See also our other available space, an Air BNB listing "Bright Bedroom & Private Bath on Organic Farm."
Frieze & Roy is Canada's oldest general store, located in the heart of the village of Maitland, great for an ice cream stop and offers diner/bistro-style meals 8am-7pm in the summer season.

  • Kelly & Danny’s place is absolutely gorgeous. The house is huge, but the way they have it decorated makes it still feel very cozy and warm. Kelly was very accommodating with our requests and responded to any questions within moments. There was certainly plenty of room to host a large group and the kitchen was sized to cook and sit comfortably. The convenience store at the top of the street was lovely and came in handy to pick up any odds and ends we forgot during our trip. Superb hosts!

  • This is a great place to stay near the Bay of Funday. We recommend buying the wonderful produce and meat from nearby Bountywoods farm. The house has a great kitchen for cooking. Outside there is a relaxing setting area with lovely views of the garden and local woods. We had a great time.

  • It's a quiet place in a very small town which was steeped in history. We were given a code to access the home so no need to arrive to meet someone at a specified time. We stayed in the Oakdale room just inside the front door which had a private bathroom down the hall for us to use. It was quiet & relaxing with no TV but we did have internet access. Kelly served us a delicious egg croissant breakfast sandwich along with yogurt and fruit.

    Carole2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful old home which has been tastefully modernised and is full of history. A wonderful host who was quick to respond to our queries and helped with suggestions in the area. We also enjoyed a yummy breakfast. It was a great spot to stop for the night as we were tidal rafting the next day.

    Nicky2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A magnificent heritage home tastefully renovated and superbly decorated. We had The Oak Room which is the only room on the main floor with its own private bathroom with a giant tub. Great location in town equidistant to the Tidal Bore Viewing Station and Burntcoat Head Park where you can walk out at low tide on the red sand. Dining is limited to a cafe in the convenience store so you might want to eat on the way there or expect to drive some distance for more than burgers. Kelly was a gracious host and cooked us a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

    Eric2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space is gorgeous and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and coffee plentiful. Kelly was kind and courteous. I couldn't say nicer things about this place.

    James2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly & Danny's place was GREAT! It's a lovely Victorian home close to the Tidal Bore Rafting. Kelly gave us all sorts of valuable tips and his cooking is five star plus. We stayed later than planned on our last day just to get another of Kelly's scrumptious breakfasts.

    Chris2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Tidal Life Guesthouse. The home is beautiful and well-kept. We did the tidal bore rafting with the River Runners, which is just down the road from the house. Our start time for the rafting trip was the same time as the breakfast. Kelly made us some breakfast sandwiches to go since we wouldn't be around for the normal breakfast. Great hospitality and very friendly! I highly recommend staying at the Tidal Life Guesthouse!

    Jessica2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a place for my last night in Nova Scotia that wasn't too far from the airport but that would allow me to really get the most out of my last night in the province. About a 40 minute drive to the airport the next morning, and located in a sweet historical village right on the Bay of Fundy, The Tidal Life was perfect! After a long and windy drive down from Cape Breton I checked in easily and then took up Kelly's suggestion to check out Burncoat Head Park about 20 minutes down the road. I got there just as the tide was roaring in, and with the ongoing wind storm, it was a magnificent sight! Kelly and Danny's home is absolutely gorgeous, a fine example of gothic revival architecture and very well taken care of. The house is filled with an excellent selection of books, records, and movies for guests to enjoy, a guide to the architectural highlights of the Maitland area, and a map of local attractions. The bathroom that comes with the Oakdale Room has a luxuriously huge bathtub which I enjoyed greatly after a long drive, and the room came prepared with glasses, a wine opener, and towels. The Oakdale room is on the ground floor, right next to the entryway and across the hall from the parlour, which was very convenient for me. I only wish I had planned to stay there longer, as it would be a very comfortable place to enjoy a few days and have a base for exploring the Bay of Fundy and surrounding historical area. I had to leave early in the morning and Kelly was kind enough to prepare my breakfast an hour earlier than usual to accommodate. He made me a fantastic croissant breakfast sandwich with granola and yogurt, and coffee was ready at the table when I got up. Kelly is such a warm and friendly person and I enjoyed our conversation so much that I almost lost track of time! On my way out the door I ran into Danny, who kindly helped me get my suitcase in the car. What a lovely couple, it was truly a treat to stay in their home. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I'll have to come back and spend a few days next time!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Kelly and Danny's B&B. We arrived a little later in the evening, but Kelly was kind enough to accommodate and provided us with a door code and instructions so we could check ourselves in. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast the following morning was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet spot to relax and chase the tide!

This room was the old "maid's quarters" of this parsonage built in 1867. It is perfect for a romantic getaway and with it's own sitting room, definitely a nice space for creativity and relaxation. It is right above the kitchen so if you like to sleep past 9am, it may not be your best choice. In the morning you will wake up to fresh ground coffee or a cup of tea from our extensive tea collection, home baked goods and a delicious breakfast. We go out of our way to make you feel special.
Beautiful rolling hills, country roads, secluded beach and so much history.
  • Our experience at Maison La Rochelle was excellent! Domarlie was attentive to our every need and treated us to a fabulous breakfast each morning. The B&B is located in a quiet area with beautiful views, kind neighbors and a convenient location. We look forward to visiting again!

  • A special place with a cool vibe , a redone whitewashed historic farmhouse. Rooms were all very nicely decorated, it was quiet, very comfortable and enjoyable. An outstanding abundant, made from scratch breakfast (with the best biscuits ever) was served to us. Definitely worth a visit! They hope to open a coffee shop soon which would will be a must stop if traveling through the area.

    Rachel2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING B&B as well as equally super hosts. We absolutely enjoyed Nadya and Dom’s company; such great people. Location, amenities and all else were spot on. We absolutely loved our one night stay, which was too short. We love it so much, we are trying to shuffle our travel plan to visit Nadya’s B&B one more time before we head home. One more thing - we decided last minute to go tidal bore rafting; Nadya made a call to River Runner and made the arrangements for us, it was awesome btw. Thanks Nadya and Dom for amazing time. Can’t wait to be back again!

  • Anna is a fabulous host. She is very welcoming and communicative. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast in the house, listening interesting stories of her life and family. The house is very comfortable and, as a plus, it is close to Tidal Bore Riding companies (something to try!).

    Giorgio2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anna is a super hostess who has a historic house filled with art — her own and others and a great rainy day library! A lovely and interesting house. Anna made every effort to make us feel welcome and she provided lots of information on where to catch the Tidal Bore and where to walk on the ocean at low tide. Very comfortable bedroom and she made us a delicious breakfast.

  • Anna's place is great! She was a great host, welcomed us with open arms! There is plenty of parking and Anna's home has everything we needed. She even made us a delicious breakfast. We loved chatting with her about her artwork and her involvement in her town. She graciously offered us her own brewed beer, which was delicious. Thanks Anna! 😀

  • We spent less than 24hrs with Anna (and the cute dog Bella), but it felt like much much more. We learned so much about the history, culture, daily lives of this country -- a really outstanding and in-depth experience. Anna is a great host with extraordinary hospitality. The house is cozy and the room nice and tidy. Highly recommended.

  • Anna's house was a great place to stop on the way from Cape Breton to Halifax. She made us a lovely breakfast in the morning where we enjoyed chatting with the other guests who were from Belgium. Her dog is adorable (also super quiet and hypoallergenic). Great host, would definitely recommend.

  • Maitland is definitely worth a trip; if only for a trip to walk the ocean floor in Burntcoat Head. Danny was a great host. He asks that you meet him at their resturant, Bing's Eatery, which has delicious, fresh, and hearty made meals. The complimentary breakfast in the bnb was amazing & Danny went out of his way to provide cocnut milk for the non-dairy eaters in our party. We stayed in the bunk room, which was spacious and well decorated, with two sets of wooden bunks. The house was built in 1850 and has a ton of old charm and beautiful finishes.

    Victoria2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the, if not the best Airbnb experience I've had to date. It's all in the details and the friendliness of the hosts. The place was adorable, you can walk to the "main St" with a corner store (the oldest in Canada), there's a lovely garden, fire pit, and reading room. Me and my buddy stayed in the bunk room which has two bunk beds (4 total beds) and two windows. The bathroom was down the hall (and only for our use, so it was private). These guys know how to go above and beyond. Everything was charming, clean, and relaxing. Absolutely zero complaints. Looking forward to knowing what these guys start up with next!

    Mitchell2017-09-11T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed Nadya-Lyse’s place. Loved the decor and it was very homey and comfortable. Awesome bed and the fluffiest towels ever. We were going tidal-bore rafting and Nadya let us take towels and even did our laundry for us. She really went over and above. Both her and her partner, Domarlie are amazing cooks. We had the most delicious breakfasts both days we were there!

  • Maison Larochelle is a gem! The beautiful century house is well located on the Bay of Fundy near all of the fun tidal bore activities. The decor is charmingly bohemian, the beds are comfortable. Nadia-Lyse and Dumarley are warm and welcoming hosts— but the best part is Dumarley’s extraordinary cooking. The breakfasts were world class. We rank it at five stars, and would add a few Michelin stars, too. Thanks, Dumarley!

  • Should your travels take you to Maitland or the surrounding area, stay at Maison LaRochelle. Nadya-Lyse has fashioned a unique brand of comfort here. Her home is interesting; It is eclectic. Nadya-Lyse is genuine. She will welcome you into her beautiful home, and you will feel at home. I could not help myself but to sit in her kitchen, and watch her work her magic there. I enjoyed every conversation we had, and I guarantee you won't find a better meal. Every plate is made with love. This location is perfect for anyone planning to go tidal bore rafting. You are close to Burntcoat Head as well. Great location. Excellent Host!!

  • Nadya and Dom have an amazing little spot here. They are wonderful hosts and create a warm and friendly environment. It truly is a home away from home. I wish we were there for longer. There is access to the bay of fundy just up the road, and it offers a great place to watch the tides and walk on the bottom of the bay when it’s low tide. Not much for restaurants around, but Nadya and Dom are very accommodating. Their cooking is amazing, the breakfast we had was awesome.

  • Most of my Airbnb reviews are pretty positive and that's because most of the places I've stayed have been good. But this place blows them all out of the water. Do yourself a favor and if you're in the area try to snag a spot here. First of all, for a little stretch of coastline without much action, there are so many little things to discover and see and the Maison is in a perfect location to see it all from. I went tidal bore rafting, but there is much else to find and generous, creative, and happy people to chat with in every shop. Nadia's place itself is delightful. It is artistically and uniquely decorated, spotlessly clean, warm and inviting with comfortable beds, and peaceful. The meals you are served are worthy of a hot ticket restaurant (which this Airbnb may soon be) and the company of the hosts (and in my case, other guests) makes it feel like you're visiting friends at their beautiful country home. I almost can't believe this place exists and you should go here if you can.

  • Hands down one of the best air bnb experience we’ve had. The bed was super comfortable, clean cozy room, beautifully decorated. The entire experience was amazing, but the breakfast and company is what really set her apart from others. She was very thoughtful and accommodating and provided recommendations for the day. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area.

  • We had a great stay at Nadya's. It is a beautiful house and garden, very comfortable. We had the use of a sitting room and kitchen if we needed it. Close to Burnt Coat Head and to see the tidal bore. Breakfast was delicious, in the garden in the sunshine. Nadya is a very friendly, welcoming host. Thank you.

  • These hosts are GREAT - very knowledgable about the region, restaurants, outdoor activities (one is a former river guide) and outdoor/historical sites of interest - and GREAT BREAKFASTS. Bucolic country setting, garden and beautiful historic home

  • My husband and I took 2.5 weeks to tour through the Maritimes. Our stop at Danny and Kelly's was #10 on our list. It ranked among the top for comfort, the breakfast served was by far the best breakfast we were served during our trip. Kelly was able to accommodate my husband's dietary restrictions - this was much appreciated! Kelly was a gracious host who gave us tips on things to see and do in the area. Everythingwas spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated. A wonderful stay. Highly recommend!

  • This was a charming old house with large private bedrooms and private bath, plus a comfy common area where we hung out with the other guests. Kelly was a great host and makes a great breakfast. We'd love to stay here again.

  • An amazing house which has been decorated exquisitely and use to show case great art and design. Felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel and the breakfasts were superb. Kelly's hosting skills are exceptional- he made us feel that he had all the time in the world to chat and make sure we made the most of a part of Canada he is clearly passionate about.
