With its own deck, you can watch the stars by night or, by day, horses & wallabies in the nearby fields. The studio cottage is complete with indoor bathroom, rustic outdoor bath on your deck, kitchenette, & deluxe king bed. 10 minutes from conveniences of Murwillumbah yet the perfect spot to get away from it all. Optional firepit and supply of firewood to enjoy nights beneath the stars.
In addition to an inside bathroom, there is an outdoor rustic bathtub with hot & cold mineral water, to soak up more of those views. The kitchen has a microwave and a plug in electric non stick fry pan for basic cooking. Located 10 minutes from Murwillumbah, there are lots of nearby restaurants and activities including great walking tracks and the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. During Winter, if it is not raining, you can opt to book the fire pit and a supply of wood (fee applies).
Murwillumbah, the nearest town, boasts 12 cafes and a vibrant art precinct. Gymea Day Spa is 15 minutes drive away, as is Mount Warning National Park. There are a number of other beautiful walks/hikes within a short drive. Cafes, horseriding, local markets and the Margaret Olley Art Gallery are just a few things in the region. Tweed Coast secluded beaches are 20 minutes drive away, and there are whales to be spotted with the naked eye, between May-Oct. During Winter we are offering the option of a fire pit (which is an additional fee as it includes a supply of wood and the set up). This is only available if it is not raining. We live in a rural area, and there are a handful of homes around. The local art deco cinema is also worth a visit.

  • A fantastic, tranquil get away! Rolling green hills, beautiful space and friendly farm animals. Jon and Rachel were kind and thoughtful - our whole stay was so easy and perfect to get away from hustle and bustle.

    Noni2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice farm stay. Amazing for kids - they get to feed the animals and pick-up fresh eggs in the morning. Lots of space to play around.

    Natacha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable stay at Rachel and Jon's place. We stayed in the middle of summer after some much needed rain and the area was green and full of life. This also made it extremely humid and there was an abundance of insects but you've got to take the good with the bad. Make sure you pack your insect repellant. It was wonderful to wake up to the sounds of their farm animals and watch them wander around the property. These animals live a charmed existence. The location is perfect for travelling to beaches and charming little towns in the Northern NSW area. Highly recommended.

  • If you’re planning to stay in the area then look no further than Rachel & Jon’s place. We had a great 3 night stay with our three kids aged 9, 8 and 5. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and charming. A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive, not just from Rachel, John and their boys but from all the animals too. Our kids absolutely loved the freedom of roaming around the farm, interacting with the animals (we rarely saw them without a chicken in their arms), playing in the treehouse, surfing the grass banks, kayaking on the pond and most of all making friends with Rachel & Jon’s kids - we’d loose them for hours at a time. Coming ‘home’ to the farm was always met with more enthusiasm than for going out! It’s a place to truly chill out. We’re already planning our next weekend there!

    Stuart2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful location and lovely hosts. So much for the kids to do and explore and only half an hour to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches. Friendly animals and a peaceful stay. Would stay again and highly recommend.

    Jess2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, plenty for the kids to do

    Michelle2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The best place we have stayed in. Perfect for kids. If you wrap your children in cotton wool you may struggle with the activities. If you let your kids be kids they will have the time of their lives .

    Geoff2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and Jon are great hosts. Very welcoming. My wife, 5 kids, and myself really enjoyed our stay. Recommended.

  • Neat & tidy. Wonderful views.

    Mia2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very picturesque! A great place to unwind and get back to basics. Loved the hot water shower. It really felt like 5 x star camping. Michelle is so lovely and super helpful. Really enjoyed having a wine on the deck overlooking the creek and watching the sun go down over the mountains. Also loved that it’s dog friendly too. Will be back. :)

    Kate2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful getaway spot. Super private and very comfortable bed.

    Laknuwan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I have nothing bad to say about the charming little hut. The nature around the property is beautiful and there are great views right from the deck. The compostable toilet is kept very clean. The battery powered fairy lights and lamp in the hut give ample light for reading and playing cards. It’s so nice to say somewhere a little more remote and with no power, it really helps you disconnect. Cheers, Hannah

  • What a wonderful place. The cabin has everything you need and it is in the perfect spot. Extremely peaceful and relaxing. Checkin was a breeze. Definitely keen to come back soon!

  • Had a fabulous stay at Paula and Barry's place. Our second time and hopefully not the last. It is very well situated above Murwillumbah with a great garden and view of the river. There are lots of thoughtful extras which makes this airbnb stand out. Paula and Barry are very friendly but also very considerate of your privacy. The apartment is under their house so they are there to welcome you and then leave you in peace. It is very quiet and so easy to relax especially if you make use of the hot tub. The bed is very comfy and the kitchen is well set up if you feel like cooking, although there are so many great places to eat just down the road in the town. Thank you Paula and Barry!

  • A lovely place with many options for relaxing as a couple. Great, undercover spa tub with views across the mountains and down the river, with a stylish Outdoor dining and relaxation area and an additional indoor lounging area, there’s plenty of space for individual chill out zones. Lovely touches, like chocs and essentials in the fridge, Christmas bon bons in december and everything you would ever want for cooking utensils, crockery, glassware etc. A really well stocked space and Super stylish. A very relaxing place. No wonder it’s always booked out!

  • I highly recommend this Airbnb. The location is perfect. We stayed for a week and found the house conveniently located to the cascade waterfalls, Dreamworld, Byron Bay, Tamborine glow worms and so many other fantastic places to explore. A highlight for our family was the fishing from the backyard, the gorgeous deck and the mango tree. The house is absolutely spotless and equiped with everything you need. I noticed that some people commented about the traffic from the road and I was concerned but it really didn’t bother us as the house is set back from the road. Our family regularly uses Airbnb and I have to say that I agree with other comments that the beds are incredibly comfortable. Our family would definitely love y to return to this magical spot. Thank you Nicole and Gary for hosting one of our best holidays.

Our comfortable two bedroom cottage is situated on the Tweed River with views to Mt Warning. It is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the town of Murwillumbah and set in a picturesque valley just a short drive from the Tweed and Gold Coasts.
We are a 15 mins. walk or a few mins. drive to the shopping centre, cafes, pubs and clubs of Murwillumbah, Greenhills Function Centre and the Tweed Regional Art Gallery with the Margaret Olley Centre and cafe. There are many attractions in and surrounding the town including the heritage listed national parks of Mount Warning and the Border Ranges. We are 45 minutes drive from Byron Bay, 30 mins from the Gold Coast and 15 mins from the Tweed Coast beaches. We are approximately 2 hours south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast airport is a 25 mins drive. Our cottage has two bedrooms both with queen size beds and ceiling fans and can comfortably sleep four people. There is one bathroom. The property is not suitable for children and infants under the age of 12 years.
We love the serenity and the views in particular the amazing sunsets (and full moon sets if up early enough). We enjoy listening to visiting magpies and kookaburras, the splash of fish jumping in the river and the occasional appearance of ducks and pelicans and in the warmer months of dolphins in the river. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful and the neighbours warm and friendly.
  • Fantastic place to stay. Cannot speak highly enough about this cottage.

  • Amazing little cabin perfect for a quiet getaway. Super easy to find and love the privacy. Nothing better than having drinks and chilling in the spa. We were there over a rainy weekend but it made it even better to sit in a hot spa watching the rain. Our doggo also absolutely love the freedom to run around. I love that they thought to put in fencing so we could sit in the spa and watch our little doggo play safely. Only wish we had spent more than 1 night.

Festival patrons please note, North Byron Parkland (Splendour in the Grass,Falls Festival etc.) is 25 minutes south of us and Belongil Fields is a further 10 minutes on.
We find that most of our guests come to relax and "get away" so value the privacy and peacefully surrounds of our cottage. Please note....we are a Land for Wildlife property, so PLEASE NO PETS.
Uki is a freindly, unique village at the foot hills of MT Warning. Murrwillumbah Art Gallery (featuring the permanent Margret Olley exhibition) is 15 minutes away. Byron Bay and the Gold Coast airport are both 45 minutes drive. Uki has a farmers market on Saturday mornings. There is a good range of fruit and vegetables, beautiful locally made sour dough breads, great cheese cakes, Thai food and morning tea. The village market is held on the third Sunday of the month, lots of bargains, great music and delicious market food. The Uki pub has now re opened and features local musicians on Sunday afternoons and of course counter lunches and dinner every night. The" go to coffee shop" is at the Post Office open from 6.30 am, get the paper and say hello to Gary and the girls. There are also 2 cafes. There is a well stocked general store, take-a-way and the famous Uki Pie shop. Uki Antique and Vintage is an "Aladins' cave" of treasures and bargains.

  • Lovely place and lovely people. Laura and Malcolm's place is quiet, private and very comfortable. And did I mention the view of Wollumbin!! It is fantastic and our hosts made us feel that we could go and sit on their viewing deck anytime. The swimming pool was also very good = it is just next to their house. Laura provides many thoughtful touches and generous supplies for breakfast including muesli, eggs, bacon and crossiants. We also enjoyed the nearby town of Uki especially the coffee at the Post Office and were given a guided tour of the coffee roasting process and pink coffee grinder by owner Gary. The other thing we loved was our lunch at the nearby Rainforest Cafe. Both of these places were suggested by Laura. Thank you Laura and Malcolm for your kind hospitality and we hope to see you again.

    Kathryn2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's cottage is located in a beautiful area of southern QLD. A comfortable and spacious private space that is easy to find. Close to amenities yet rural enough for peace and quiet as well as bird life and wildlife. Loved it!

The Garden Kitchen has everything you need to cook (pots and pans, kettle, Stovetop etc). We didn't see a furry friend the Koala but we did have a visit from a Goanna! Haha. 8min drive from Mt Warning carpark, bring swimmers and jump in the river to cool off- what more could you need :)

A self contained unit in a quiet semi rural location. Generous space and located far enough away from the owners residence to be private but close enough to be able to ask for anything extra that is needed. Dunbible is a 5 minute drive out of Murwillumbah NSW.
Perfect for private getaway or time out. Our studio is now available for guests as a generous one bedroom self contained apartment. We live on site in the separate main house. We are situated on a 1 acre (.4 hectare) block that is being planted with fruit trees according to broad permaculture principles. We eat our own vegies a lot of the time. We keep bees (honey and native), geese and chickens. July - Nov is geese breeding season so if you are sensitive to farmyard noises we might not be for you but if you like rural entertainment :-) we are for you. The studio is detached from the main house but joined by a short covered walkway, so it is quite private. Pets aren't out of the question, it just depends on being outdoors and non destructive, so will discuss that option if required. Wireless internet is available . We can also offer free local and national landline calls from the house VOIP phone. There is a sound system and TV or you can play some vinyl, audio tapes, CDs and radio. We are happy for you to use the washing machine if you need to catch up on washing while on the road. Just ask. We are: 5 minutes from Murwillumbah, 2 minutes from the Tweed Regional Art Gallery and cafe with the new Margaret Olley exhibition 45 minutes from Byron Bay, 35 mins the Gold Coast and the unspoilt Tweed Coast beaches 1.5 hours south of Brisbane Be aware that you could hear cows gentling lowing on the distance hill, kookaburra's do signal the approach of dawn, the geese may honk and the household chickens punctuate the day with news of the arrival on another egg. Dunbible - wotzat? "Aboriginal. Refers to djunbi tree, with suffix following (-ible) indicating there were many of these trees there. Also: a creek at the foot of a high mountain, is a descriptive rather than literal translation. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984)."
Quite semi rural neighborhood. Sometimes cattle noises across the valley, the odd kookaburra or other birds. We have chickens and geese. At some times of the year the geese can be a little boisterous.
  • Craig's studio is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Fresh mangoes straight from the tree, delicious. Lovely place for birdwatchers. Craig and Viv were friendly and helpful.

  • Craig and Viv's studio is so perfect in so many ways. Great location, close to town but in a quiet and nature filled spot. The studio is super comfy, clean, and well equiped with all that we needed and more. Real art on the walls, great music collection, chooks and geese and veggie garden, compost bin. The kitchen and pantry are very well equiped. We cooked lots and had family come for dinner and had all we needed. The local area information Craig provides is so good we saw the region from a new perspective even though we are old time locals. It includes maps of the area with a range of drives and walks. We only had time for one short river walk directly from the property. It was real solace during our busy time in the valley. Craig and Viv were very kind and generous with their place and time. We highly recommend. It was just awesome!

  • Jan was a most thoughtful host, providing many little extras which were most welcome. Loved the apartment, and hope to be back sometime.

  • Fantastic place to stay! Jan’s homemade muesli was delicious and other touches like fresh eggs, milk and even a block of chocolate were very much appreciated! A lovely quiet spot with a beautiful outlook and relaxing pool to swim in. Close to the fabulous art gallery and only minutes from the centre of town. We did a tour of the Husk Distillery which I highly recommend as a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! We will definitely be back!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Riverlea. The place was immaculately clean and was very spacious. The was a great selection of food items provided for breakfast on arrival and other provisions and amenities were fantastic. Jan and David were great hosts and provided a lot of information about the area, in print form in the unit and in conversation. The location was great for our plans and the park just down the road and the walk along the river was very pretty and peaceful. We sat outside with drinks in the afternoon looking down across the river and woke to the distant sounds of cows going off to milking. We will definitely be back in Autumn to do some further exploring in the area.

  • Amazing location and a beautiful apartment. Nice and private, with gorgeous fresh flowers, milk, eggs, tea and coffee provided! Jan is an amazing hostess and I would definitely book the apartment again. Thank you!

We invite you to experience our beautiful 10 acre property in the heart of the Tweed Valley. The mountain views are spectacular and the sunrises and sunsets to die for. We are just 15kms from the beautiful deserted beaches of Cabarita, 20 mins from Coolangatta airport, 5 mins from the township of Murwillumbah and less than a hour from Surfers Paradise. The property is bordered by cane fields and a creek. Our centre piece is a beautiful lake with a bridge to an island dotted with palm trees.
This is an EXCLUSIVE camp site. We only ever take one booking at a time, for between 2 and 6 people.....our focus is on PRIVACY!! The price includes your luxury tent accommodation including all linens and towels and all the activities you can do on the property (about 5 acres). This includes canoeing on the lake, outdoor movies, star gazing using our telescope, access to our dedicated guest barn to play ping pong, darts etc. The barn also houses the kitchen for you to cook your meals. The luxurious beds are fitted with electric blankets in winter and the tent has fans for those hotter summer days. It also includes firewood for your campfire, plenty enough for one night. You can collect more from the property if you need it. We are also pet friendly, in fact we encourage you to bring your fur baby. This is quite literally doggie heaven! Please be respectful of our luxurious beds and not allow your pets to jump on them. A caution...the property is unfenced, but not near any roads. We are ordered by cane fields and a creek. There is plenty of space for your fur babies to roam and explore. If you want to arrive with just your toothbrush then for an extra $50 per person we will provide you with all the ingredients to cook your BBQ dinner, including dessert and a bottle of wine and your farm style breakfast. We source our ingredients locally when possible (some of them from right here on the property). Vegetarian and vegan meals can also be provided with prior notice. Please add $5 per person for a vegan menu. The kitchen facilities, including a fridge, are under cover in our large barn. Decorated farm style with hay bales and lots of fairy lights and a 4m ceiling it is a fun space to cook, play music whilst having a game of ping pong or just chill out on our luxurious comfortable day bed. It also serves as a great shelter if the weather turns inclement. You can also choose to watch a movie on our 1.5m outdoor screen. We supply the movies...and the popcorn!! We supply all your cooking and eating utensils, salt and pepper, cooking oil, tomato and bbq sauce, tea and coffee (plunger style), water, an esky (please BYO ice) as well as a Bluetooth speaker. We have an easy to use telescope for you to view the unbelievable night sky we have here in the country. Or lay down in the field and just look up, it is breathtaking! Our luxurious bath is an optional extra and must be booked as part of our “pamper package”. The cost is $80 and includes a luxurious hot, bubble bath, a bottle of sparkling wine, a cheese and fruit platter, our special native Australian scented bath products, including a delicious body scrub, fluffy robes and slippers, candles, fairy lights and heated towels. We do everything for you from filling the bath, to making the bubbles and lighting the candles. Please advise when booking if you would like to book the “pamper package”. We also have a “romance package” to surprise your special someone. It includes fresh flowers, a petal heart on the bed (roses when possible), a bottle of French sparkling wine, light up stars on the tent ceiling, chocolate covered strawberries, and tons of romantic lighting to light up the tent. This is priced at $70. Our most popular package is called the “rompam” and it combines both the romance and the pamper packages. Everything included in both packages for just $130 with one bottle of French bubbly. Any of our optional extras can be paid in cash on arrival. Just please advise what you would like to indulge in at the time of your booking.
Nunderi is a small country village just 5 mins from Murwillumbah and 15-20 mins from the coast. You can arrive and relax around the campsite whilst exploring our beautiful property. If you choose our meal package then a BBQ dinner is on the menu, followed by s’mores by the campfire, maybe an outdoor camp movie and some spectacular star gazing with our telescope. Wake up to birdsong, maybe a quick trip to the beach for a swim or a surf and then a country breakfast is yours to enjoy with eggs from our chickens and produce from our gardens. Lazy checkout time of 11am.
  • Look no future honestly! This place is spectacular. I was a solo traveller and loved every moment of the experience. Bring your friends or family along everyone is going to have a spectacular experience. 1 night here made me leave feeling I had a week away. • We had such a lovely time at this beautiful property! We had booked 3 nights for a babymoon (our last break away as a party of 2) and it was exactly what we needed. Private, peaceful and relaxing! Jo and Lily met us and were great with communication throughout our stay. We had the awesome pamper package sunset bath and felt very spoilt. A great location, close to the beautiful Cabarita beach and it was so nice to head back to the peaceful camp at the end of the day for a bbq and movie. Comfortable bed and lots of thoughtful touches. We would definitely recommend This beautiful stay and will probably be back as a party of 3 :) Thanks again Jo and Lily for making this time really special.

  • From the minute we got there we felt so welcomed by Jo and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Her campground is just stunning and so peaceful private and quiet. We particularly loved relaxing in the hammock by the lake and Gordon particularly loved doing laps of the lake. Jo has left so many thoughtful touches and you're sure to fall in love with the place as did we! Book the bath!😍

Nestled in the valley at the foot of Wollumbin-Mt Warning, Bromeliad Cottage is a cosy, peaceful, self-contained stay for singles, couples or a small family. Enjoy birdsong all day, an outdoor fire at night, a stroll around the tropical acreage or a swim (fitness or fun) in the 20m lap pool. A few minutes drive gets you to Mt Warning, Mavis's Kitchen, Uki Village, Tweed Regional Art Gallery and Murwillumbah, with the coast from Byron Bay to Surfers Paradise also in easy reach.
Bromeliad Cottage sits just in front of our family home and offers complete privacy with your own vehicle parking right at the front door entrance. You are welcome to wander about our property and pick any seasonal fruit or nuts from the many trees and plants or relax in air-conditioned comfort inside. The 20m lap pool has open access from the side of the main house and is available for use in daylight hours. Separate pool towels can be provided on request. Bromeliad Cottage also has a private courtyard with a firepit for you to enjoy and a Weber gas BBQ on the front deck for your use at any time.
Historic Uki Village, just 3 mins drive away, has three wonderful cafes to enjoy (including the unique Post-Office Cafe) and hosts a produce market every Saturday and the Buttery Bazaar - an art, craft and treasure market - every third Sunday of the month. The Mt Warning Hotel in Uki is a modern and welcoming establishment serving great family meals every day of the week. Wollumbin-Mt Warning is the first piece of land in Australia to be hit by sunlight every morning. Many climbers leave before dawn to catch the sunrise as it happens. Be prepared though! Wollumbin-Mt Warning is a 2.5hr uphill climb to the top (5hrs return) with a "vertical rock scramble" to the peak. It's a wonderful climb but please respect the traditional owners of the mountain and follow all directions carefully. The Wollumbin-Mt Warning National Park is also just a few minutes from Bromeliad Cottage, with the entry to the challenging and inspiring mountain-climb track less than 10 mins drive. On the way you'll pass the famous Mavis's Kitchen restaurant and function house and the Rainforest Cafe serving an array of excellent meals including vegan alternatives. Other local attractions include the Tweed Regional Art Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre, the Natural Bridge, Nimbin, the Murwillumbah Arts Trail, Brunswick Heads Hotel, Byron Bay (including all the big music festivals), the entire tweed coastline only 30 mins drive away and local markets in different places every single weekend. And all this with the Gold Coast airport also just 30 mins away!

Lisa, Adrian and her boys are very welcoming and their dog Casper is a very friendly and well behaved boy. Our accomodation was perfect for our one night getaway from Brisbane. • Al though only stayed for one night, the unit was great, really private, comfortable and clean. It is prefect retreat with all the trimmings that you would expect. The Wifi works but slightly slower than normal, but that was not an issue. The main reason for coming would be to relax and that is easy to achieve. There is a Cafe only 400 metres down the road which is great. Also one of the best Bar meals I have had about 4 Kms away at Uki at the Mt Warning Hotel. Obviously your own transport is a must. Judith and Barry are great hosts with information and very friendly.

This is a charming little church, converted to a beautiful living space. It is situated in the little rural village of Stokers Siding, in Northern NSW. The nearest town, Murwillumbah, is 8km away. Some of the finest surfing beaches in the world are less than 30 mins drive away. The old church has one bedroom and bathroom with an open living and kitchen space, with a wonderful veranda at the rear of the church. The grounds contain a little one-bedroom Capella, also for rent separately.
This is a charming little church, converted to a beautiful living space, and is situated in the little rural village of Stokers Siding, in Northern New South Wales. The church is in an Australian Bush setting with a babbling creek bordering the property. The nearest town is about 8km away at Murwillumbah and some of the finest and most famous surfing beaches in the world are less than 30 mins drive away. Staying in this little bush town will leave you with enduring happy memories. The old church has one bedroom and bathroom with an open living and kitchen space. There is a wonderful veranda at the rear of the church. The church grounds contain a little one-bedroom Capella which is also for rent separately. From both the church and the Capella you can hear the murmur of the running brook as you go to sleep and hear the native birds in the morning as you wake up. Stokers Siding is a sleepy little village, but there are a great many visits nearby. Byron Bay, Bangalow and Kingcliffe are about a 30 minute drive away.
  • This is a lovely, if quirky, place to stay. It's a very private space surrounded by bush on most sides. It feels like you're in an isolated spot even though there are houses next door and you're on the 'main' street of the Siding. There was some 'urban noises off' but they did not intrude into the very special, and surprisingly comfy, atmosphere that has been created with the upgrade to an old church building. The architecture is clearly 19th Century/early 20th Century country church and the owners have utilised the vaulted ceilings, large interior, and smaller entryway and vestry type spaces to create a uniquely old/modern space. The decor is comfortable, not up-market, and warmly welcoming into what could, otherwise, have been a daunting empty vaulted space. I have to say that the bathroom was my favourite spot. It is really a shower room with excellent water pressure and lovely hot water spraying from a lovely big shower rose. The shower is not contained and one stands in the middle of the bathroom and allows water to flow over you and away across the bathroom floor which is excellently drained. Shy folk might find the lack of screening or even curtains a bit daunting. But, really, who wouldn't love to stand free and easy under the rush of warm water whilst looking out over the plants and trees that are just outside the windows. If someone wanted to look in, they could. But, I say, "let them". For they would see someone truly at ease, at peace with themselves, as they undertake a welcome baptism into a special space. What a great place just to be away from everything.

  • Lovely old church made for a great Christmas break. A welcoming place that is beautifully decorated, and sparkling clean. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • We really enjoyed staying at this property. It is very unique and relaxing. Andrea’s communication made it easy to locate the property and check in. We were staying in the Tweed Valley to visit family. This property was perfect . We were able to relax on the back deck for breakfast before heading off for the day. The kitchen was stocked with staples like sugar, salt and pepper, olive oil and vegemite . The bed was comfortable and bathroom clean with a good shower and bath. The laundry facilities looked good even though we didn’t use the facilities. Good internet signal . We would highly recommend this property

    Jacki2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for everything Andrea. Every cooking and cleaning essential we need and more is already here. I'm a neat freak and germaphobe and struggle with a lot of AirBnb's, so to arrive and stay in one as clean and organised as yours has been an absolute pleasure. With the church being central to Byron, Mt Warning, Murwillumbah and the highway to the Gold Coast, you couldn't find a better location. Waking up to the birds chirping and the cows mooing adds to the rural meets forest atmosphere of peace and tranquility. We've extended our 2 night stay to 3 already, and are waiting on confirmation that a fourth is available!

  • Paul’s place in the tree tops is a retreat with exceptional views, bird & frog sounds, comfortable bed & pillows & a sparkling pool. Paul is friendly & an interesting host & aware of his guests privacy as well. As a single female I felt very comfortable staying in his home & sharing his spaces. The pool area & deck overlook the rainforest & mountains & were my fave places. It’d be good to have a lighter quilt in summer & provide 2 towels over 2 days, especially if it’s rainy weather. Bring extra food for snacks , you can store it, then you don’t have to leave at all!

  • The golden retreat was a beautiful place to stay. The views are absolutely gorgeous. My partner and I spent most of our time lying around the pool surrounded by lovely greenery. This place is perfect for younger couples on a budget. Paul is an excellent, laid-back host who always makes sure that you have everything you need. 10/10 would stay again!

    Mia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s space is nothing short of magical. The jungle and where you are situated is absolutely breathtaking! The house itself is immaculately clean and very stylish - a lot of thought has been put into the design and the pool is just gorgeous too. Paul and his little dog Joey are so lovely, very easy to chat to and very hospitable hosts. We had such a wonderful time and we plan to return soon! Could not recommend highly enough!

We have lots of info on things to do and see in the area, including a recent magazine article on the town of Murwillumbah. We can also recommend good eateries in the area. Hillside Hideaway is located on the same road as the iconic Tweed Regional Art Gallery. Enjoy a late breakfast at the gallery from 10am Wednesday to Sunday after a picturesque 1.5km stroll appreciate the art and the awe inspiring views from the gallery. Take an even shorter walk to Dallis Park and head to the river which has some beautiful and private picnic spots with great views of Mount Wollumbin (Mt Warning). Take a 5-minute drive into the thriving town of Murwillumbah. Watched over by the awe inspiring majesty of Mt.Wollumbin, and surrounded by 5 World Heritage National Parks, the countryside around Murwillumbah is a blend of rolling green hills and gently flowing rivers, punctuated with pockets of sugar cane, banana plantations, hobby farms and small village communities. The town itself has a lot to offer; including many smaller art galleries, funky furniture shops, clothing boutiques and impressive eateries, a weekly farmers' market, as well as some of the best Art Deco architecture in the country. Continue down Bakers Road, heading away from the gallery and turn left at the end to reach the road to Mount Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and to the creative and cute little town of Uki.
  • Easy check in, quick and consistent communication, and a very comfortable place. Perfect for a couple! Loved the sustainable touches like the well labelled compost and recycling bins + boomerang bags + Who Gives a Crap toilet paper, and Andia was a very friendly and helpful host.

    Gemma2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Andia and Jeremy’s place. They were extremely friendly and accommodating, communication was always open and very clear which was great and the check in process was the easiest I’ve had with any AirBNB. The accommodation itself was extremely clean and well kept, as well as homely and comfortable - very easy to relax in and stayed cool despite the heat outside. The location is so peaceful and quiet while still being close enough to surrounding towns and the beach. Would definitely recommend the stay. Thanks again Andia and Jeremy!

  • A convenient and peaceful location. Perfect for one person or a couple. Studio is located under the house so does have some foot noise but not late at night. Was fine for me, being up early and there’s no noise during the night so it’s very quiet to sleep.A very peaceful space with lounge area, good size bathroom (with heat lamps for winter!) and basic kitchen amenities , including fridge, crockery, cutlery and hot plate

    Roz2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a clean, roomy, a friendly place to stay! Quiet place to relax and not far from town. Would definitely stay again!

    Lucinda2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay for the weekend. The room has its own private entrance and feels quite separate from the main house, however, as it's located underneath the main house you can hear a bit of noise through the ceiling (footsteps, doors closing etc but not voices). The room itself is very spacious with great amenities including all the basic appliances and utensils for cooking, heater, TV and a good bed. The room doesn't strictly have a view but you can get one from 10m outside the back door looking South (away from the river) or 300m down and across the road there is a stunning view along the bend in the Tweed River. It has easy access into Murwillumbah which is a lovely little town with great cafes and culture. Andia was delightful as a host and was very proactive with her communications. The directions the the house were clear which made check in easy. Overall, really nice place to stay and would happily come back.
