This beautiful little retreat tucked away in Stirling is just stunning. You can really escape your daily hustle and bustle here. Wind down and relax to the beautiful sounds of nature which surrounds you. All the basic essentials are provided here and an outdoor BBQ for that tickles your fancy :) the little town of Stirling is just a quick 10 minute walk away filled with many little Cafes to enjoy a meal or coffee if you'd like and there is a food land and Coles near by if you decide to create a home cooked meal. Highly recommend :) bring your bikes if you have any for a nice ride while you're up here too! And if you're here for a longer stay perhaps go for a short drive to the local wineries South Australia has to offer too :)

Great place in a lovely Hills village. Adrienne and Alistair were very welcoming and even gave us a tour of their own home which has a great history. The place was perfect for a base from which to explore, which is what we were there for. It was peaceful, beautiful and easy to find. There is pretty much every amenity you could need and an honesty bar for beer and wine...and the wine was great! We will be back and can easily recommend the Hills Retreat to one and all.

Adrienne and Alistair were wonderful hosts. The home is absolutely beautiful and tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed our stay in the picturesque, peaceful and tranquil surrounds. We woke up to birdsong and beautiful views of autumn leaves falling and an Adelaide version of a Monet Garden painting complete with a pond. The kookaburras and resident koala were a special treat. Stirling is such a beautiful location.

Adrienne was a wonderful host. She made me and my daughter feel so welcome and she went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Her home was much more beautiful than the pictures show. The only drawback is it was so lovely there we didn't want to leave!

The place is absolutely magical! Set amongst what feels like a forest, we awoke each morning to the gentle sound of the creek, birds and general nature with a floor to ceiling view of the lake and wildlife - all completely blissful. The place itself is very spacious, interesting and super cosy with a big living room, bedroom(s) and bathroom with a fantastic spa bath. Adrienne was lovely - they welcomed us on arrival, provided all the information we needed for our stay and the studio has everything you need. Stirling is also a really beautiful little town. This place is so close to the centre of Stirling but you feel like you are a world away in relaxing Australian shrub. The place has everything you need and is thoughtfully set out. We had a very short stay but wished it was longer. We even had a local koala visitor come right up to our car to say hello. Perfect place to explore the Adelaide Hills!

A haven in nature of your own. This place was the perfect start to our honeymoon. The interiors reminded me of one of the top boutique hotels in London without the pretense. Esme & George are delightful hosts and they are doing a great job at restoring the estate, bringing their own vision of welcome into it. Highly recommend!

Lovely 1 bedroom cottage - well furnished and fitout. The hot scones and continental breakfast was a great touch. We will stay again next time we're in the Adelaide Hills

This is a lovely spacious house, ideal for couples or two families, with two wings, each with its own bathroom. The open plan living kitchen dining area is very sociable. The house was very clean. The beds and bedding were excellent. The garden in pretty and shaded and we used the tennis court for fun (it is bumpy with tree roots in places). It is only 2 minutes to walk into Stirling for shops. After an initial visit to Foodland in the car, we just walked to the butcher, baker and veg market every day. There is a little supermarket open long hours in easy walking distance too. We used the bus into Adelaide - every 30 minutes - as well as driving, which was easy in all directions, though navigating in the Adelaide Hills isn't always easy. You can walk to Warrabinda Nature Reserve and up to Mt Lofty - we found out about these trails online - there is no info at the house. We would be very happy to stay here again, if we had a future occasion to be in a group. We would certainly recommend it as quiet and convenient for visiting Adelaide and the surrounding area.

This place was amazing. The pictures really don't do the place justice, and the pictures look great. 8 of us stayed at the Stirling House over a weekend and the place was more than big enough. Good kitchen and living space to hang out and eat in and an amazing back yard. The main street was great to get something to eat and drink at all times of the day with lots of variety and good atmosphere, and the other attractions in the Adelaide Hills area such as wine tasting were so close it was really easy to manage, not to mention 15 minutes away from the City. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the Adelaide Hills for any kind of attraction, or anyone who wants a weekend retreat with some friends.

Our stay in Stirling was wonderful, the house was stunning with luxury touches to make for a special stay. The heating was great and the surroundings at the house were simply beautiful. Location is perfect walking distance to the Main Street and lots of attractions. Anoushka promptly replied to all enquiries and was very accomodating with all requests. Would love to stay again sometime in the future.

The property is a beautiful and has multiple areas to enjoy, including a fantastic back deck for a barbecue and the tennis court at the front which they kindly supply balls and racquets for as well. The bedrooms are all large and the house has been furnished with great taste. the situation is also perfect, being only a few minutes walk to the local shops, pub and cafes, however, being off the main street gives the property a secluded, intimate feel.

Suzanne was home when we arrived and was very welcoming. She greeted us and showed us around. She introduced us to her pets. Her little dog was very adorable. The room was very nice and comfortable. A marvelous place! Great location for wine tasting Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale. Breakfast was our big meal for the day and very good. Accommodation was as expected and on the coldest wetaher in Adelaide for some years was warm and inviting. Host gave instructions as to heating via phone and we had the place to ourselves for some hours. Bedding,facilities etc were just fine and comfortable. As cold increased the pot bellied stove was fired up and we got warmer! House is walking distance to Aldgate and local pub was fine for a meal as was the Pizza and Pasta place across road from it. On third night went to Stirling Hotel for a more upmarket meal. House is well located for easy access to Adelaide, Hills area, McLaren Vale and on to Barossa. Recommended.

This is a great hills house and you stay in a unit underneath the main house so you have your own space but owners are nearby. Peaceful and a great view. It's newly listed for airbnb so still ironing out their teething issues. Rooster wakes you up early unless you are a deep sleeper (family of four, it woke us all).

Words fail to describe what an amazing place Appleton House is. Seclusion immersed in the hauntingly beautiful trees, trees that are so calming yet so magnificent, tranquility, and adorable encounter with wild life (we came across to a wallaby and an echidna along the national park path) and birds... we couldn't hoped for more from this stay. The house was tastefully decorated with carefully chosen items, with everything set up for the needs of temporary visitors.

Appleton House was truly incredible, set among lush trees overlooking the city I don't think you'll find a better property than this in Crafers. It was a daily challenge to leave the wood fire, views and comforts to head-out and explore the Adelaide Hills. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the hills.

Right from the moment we saw the photos of Applleton House we knew that it would be a magical, relaxing and intimate experience. The house is cosy (with a roaring pot belly fire) , elegant , beautifully appointed with everything that you need, especially in the kitchen as we love to cool. We spent days gazing at the magnificent view of Adelaide through the eucalyptuses after walking on trails through the Hills. We woke to owls and kookaburras and squeaking parrots. A perfect winter holiday experience. The host really took care of us - from getting in touch immediately after we sent our request to checking we had everything we needed. We happily would recommend this to those wanting a relaxing Hills retreat!!

We had a wonderful stay here. Dale was a fantastic and generous host - easy to communicate with, friendly, flexible given our arrival and departure times and even leaving extra goodies for our stay! The space is beautifully set up. Full kitchen, comfy bed, gorgeous deck area, great shower. There's lots of room, it's can be toasty warm and you're surrounded by a beautiful garden. The house had everything we could need (a full kitchen, TVs, even a laundry!) and was close to Stirling (and the Adelaide Hills) which is a beautiful area. This will be our go to accommodation when we return to the area.

Kalimna is a hidden treasure in the gorgeous Adelaide Hills. My partner and I spent a cool, autumn weekend here but the reception was warm and welcoming. Dale, the host, is a lovely lady who has created a beautiful place to stay. Kalimna is fashionably furnished and very comfortable, with everything one needs for a home away from home, right down to spare batteries for the TV remote & a first aid kit in the bathroom. There was a cheese platter, an assortment of teas and pod machine coffees, and provisions for continental breakfasts during our stay. Dale has truly thought of everything! We had a private deck overlooking a pond with some resident ducks and full access to the gardens, which Dale and her husband have clearly taken pride in. The location was quiet and peaceful, yet close to the main street of Stirling, where Dale made some great recommendations for cafes and restaurants. We were also a short drive away from neighbouring towns, wineries, Prancing Pony Brewery and the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens. We absolutely loved our stay at Kalimna and highly recommend it for a cosy and relaxing weekend away!

Dale was an absolute beautiful host, everything is thought of in the accomodation, luxurious linen and towels, beautiful cheese platter and breakfast basket to greet us on our arrival plus she had the heater on to make us feel instantly comfortable. We had a fabulous stay at Heatherby. The property is stunning! It has the most beautiful garden, lovingly cared for by Mary, who is the perfect host. She made contact with us before our arrival to ensure we could find the place, was there to give us a warm welcome, and made sure we had everything we could need. The 'private room' is more like a private wing of the main home. Beautifully decorated with double bedroom, own spacious bathroom, plus single bedroom that doubles as the living space and private entrance from the carport. The property is minutes from Stirling and is the perfect base for exploring the gorgeous Adelaide Hills region. Having spent my childhood and early adult life in the hills, being back there was made all the more pleasurable by staying in such a beautiful home.

Mary and her husband were absolutely wonderful. It was like staying at your favorite aunt's home. Their dog welcomed my 7 year-old daughter right away and I couldn't pull the two of them apart for the entire stay. They also had a surprise tennis court and basketball court as well as gorgeous botanical grounds and a pond. It was the perfect farm stay for us.

This house is exactly as you see in the pictures. It is authentic, beautifully designed and in the quietest most scenic location. Only 15 minutes away however you feel like you are on holidays the moment you arrive. Loved the salt water pool and fenced area for our dog to run around. The bedrooms are beautiful with lovely linen and color schemes throughout however the highlight was sitting in the conservatory sitting room reading books. Rosanna was a delightful host, she communicated quickly and was so helpful. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful location in the Adelaide Hills. If you are going during winter, I strongly recommend to bring thick heavy clothing - especially sleepwear. The family room is well heated but the bedrooms are extremely cold.

Jan's property is simply magic. The location is superb, set amongst the trees and nature, and is very close to nearby shops, cafes and restaurants. Its extremely tranquil and relaxing. The house itself is gorgeous, very spacious and easy to live in. Jan was a fantastic host and communicated with us quickly and easily. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the Adelaide Hills region.

This is a great house even nicer than on the photos. It is beautiful, large, comfortable and well equipped, we found everything we needed and even saw the koala sometimes. We really enjoyed staying there. We can honestly recommend it to everybody.

magnificent garden, modern clean spaces, quiet and near all the interesting Hill's places. Highly recommended.

Nice big beautiful home in Aldgate. We sat out on the deck with our morning coffee and took in the autumn colours, watching birds and koalas in the high trees above. Excellent kitchen and wood fire. We also loved walking the nearby Aldgate Valley Nature trail which was a 14km return trip into Mylor (check out the amazing Harvest cafe there). Very kid friendly as well.

Sandy is so kind and we are so pleasure to have her family as our host. I highly recommend her place as a first choice when traveling to Adelaide.

The room was really nice! It was cosy, clean, had a great view, and all the accessories you need. It was a just a few minutes walk to the centre of Aldgate which was fantastic. Sandy was very nice and accommodating, and there to help you if you needed anything. I would definitely recommend staying here!

This was my first Airbnb experience, so was a little apprehensive in staying at home I'm not familiar with, but Sandy made me feel most welcome, she's such a lovely lady and we had some good chats in the limited time I had. I look forward to staying and catching up with Sandy on my next visits to Adelaide.

Beautiful setting. Amenity could be better; a sink or pitcher of water, although I believe there are plans for an ensuite. Host was away but her partner was helpful.
