The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Highly recommended! Excellent stay!

  • Beautiful little cabin very cosy and warm with fire! Shower would be perfect in summer but cold for winter months overall great place to stay!!

  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x

With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.
  • Wonderful location, combining both quiet privacy with the convenience of a nearby beach and easy access to Falmouth and more. Very clean, suitably equipped for preparing, cooking and eating in with both adequate dining and relaxing space in the kitchen/diner/lounge. Comfy bed, roomy bathroom.....Even our fussy dog made himself comfortable.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage. Great location, walking distance to a lovely cove (with café, even in March). Other nice walks in the area. Rural but within easy reach of the amenities of Falmouth. Super clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

  • A quality base for a couple of days , very peaceful, good facilities and value for money

    Ken2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable space with all the amenities you need. A travel cot was kindly provided for our baby. Sharon and her husband were pleasant and friendly. The space was nicely decorated and close to Falmouth and many other Cornish attractions. Would stay again and would reccomend.

  • Had a lovely (if a touch wet and windy!) weekend stay, the place was perfect and cosy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone, such lovely surroundings and great hosts.

    Megan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely, really close to a small cove just outside of Falmouth. The host's where more than accommodating. There were plenty of toys for our daughter to play with which really helped when not on the beach. The cottage has really well sized rooms and perfect for a small family. it has great transport links and close to coastal walks too. N&K

    Neil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place was perfect for our short work trip - being just down the road from where we needed to be. It was warm, welcoming and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Sharon and hosts were not intrusive at all and left us to it which was great. We’d certainly try and book again if we are coming to the area again.

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

    Gillian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

    Elspeth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

    Deborah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

    Alex2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • From arrival to departure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Amazing cream tea supplied by the host enjoyed by the log burner whilst watching the llamas!

A stylishly furnished king-sized annex overlooking the garden with its own private entrance. The room is at the back of our Victorian townhouse and has its own ensuite shower room and a private parking space. It is located in central Falmouth close to the town centre, beaches, rail stations and some of the university campus buildings. It is ideal for couples, parents visiting their kids at university and business travellers. Please note there's no breakfast, only tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The room and its ensuite are in an annex with its own private entrance through the garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden. Please note that there are no cooking facilities, but there is a small silent fridge. It is a quiet and comfortable space for a good nights sleep with its king-sized bed and blackout curtains. There is a private ensuite with walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and towels are provided. There is a 'storage corridor' with plenty of room to put suitcases etc and guests can hang clothes on hooks and hangers. There is a completely silent fridge, a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker next to the bed, and a desk to work at, or to sit and drink a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Please note that no breakfast is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own things to eat, or there are plenty of lovely cafes for breakfast in Falmouth close by.
The house is near the town centre, so there are a lot of great restaurants and some nice independent shops within easy walking distance, and a Tesco supermarket less than 5 mins walk into town. There are fab independent cafes called Espressini and Good Vibes Cafe close by which do great breakfasts and coffee, or there is a Wetherspoon pub/restaurant 2 mins walk into town which does a good full English breakfast for very little money. Or I can recommend Gylly Beach Cafe for breakfast - it is only 20 mins walk and literally on the beach!
  • Dominic and Stephanie were great hosts! The place was clean, warm and the bed mattress was great for a comfortable sleep. We had our privacy as they had promised in the description. Very close to Falmouth center within minutes walking distance. Close to bus and train station. Overall I definitely recommend it! Thank you!

    Olympia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • This is a lovely private space located very conveniently to town. Thanks Dominic!

    Nora2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dominic is a lovely person and very easy-going. The communication was so easy and personal, which was really nice. The space is very welcoming, with a touch of Scandinavian design, and there are some lovely touches such as fridge, blankets and decent sized mugs! The location is great for Falmouth town centre, but the local station is bit of a journey. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely, snug flat perfect for two guests looking to hide away somewhere in the middle of Falmouth, with gated parking and outside seating area overlooking the harbour.
Falmouth is well known for its waterside activities, and lively town vibe; and this flat gives great access to both. It's bang smack in the middle of the town, right on the water, and has the rarest of advantages in town - its own parking spot, which is inside a secure gated area. Newly refurbished, it's clean, warm and comfortable, but also (hopefully) tastefully kitted out with some home comforts. For sunny days, you won't be found wanting for access to any number of activities, safe in the knowledge that your car doesn't need to move after x number of hours. Regular activities on the main town squares are within easy walking distance, boat trips from the pier are on your doorstep, and the ferry to St Mawes less than 100 metres away. For rainy days, there's the telly with access to Sky...plus a variety of board games...and a PS3 with some old school classics...not to mention the bookshelf...or DVDs. Lastly, I do love a good coffee, so there's a nice Nespresso machine here to be used.
Falmouth is a year-round vibrant town, unique to Cornwall in that there is the omnipresent university crowd who give the area its energy. Three great beaches, countless good eateries, river cruises, fishing trips, walking routes of any length, pubs-a-plenty, and near to any number of days out...this town really is a great centre to a south Cornwall break.
  • Lovely modern apartment, located by ferry pier with views over estuary. Convenient for town/shops, National Maritime Museum, Pendennis castle, St Mawes castle (by ferry). Secure parking a bonus.

    Peter2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t be put off by having to access this place via a very basic staircase; the flat itself is a delight. It is clean, modern, spacious, and contains everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is an excellent view over the pier, and the central location means that all amenities of the town are on the doorstep. Whilst the location also means that it can get quite noisy, particularly at closing time - keep the front window fully closed, and the noise isn’t a problem. Steve gives clear and comprehensive instructions for access to the car park and the flat, and has provided many thoughtful touches to help to make an enjoyable stay. We hope to return soon.

    John2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great location in the heart of Falmouth. We could see the sea from the sofa - we hadn't expected that. The host did everything he could to make us comfortable. We really enjoyed our short stay.

    Maura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous flat in a great location. Steve is very communicative and there are some really thoughtful touches in the apartment. I would definitely look to use it again for future visits to my daughter whilst she’s at uni there.

    Pippa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place, location and views and comfy sofa! Thanks for the ear buds too it was a bit noisy Saturday night but we wouldn’t have swapped staying as close to town as we were! Honestly the location really made our trip and the secure parking was great! We walked through town each evening and we didn’t have to drive anywhere! The recommendation for the pub for Sunday carvery was excellent! In fact one of the best parts of our trip! Milk, butter and coffee was a really nice touch and made it perfect for when we arrived ! Even though weather was bad all weekend there was a window of sunshine this morning and we had the perfect breakfast on the deck with that view ! TV was spot on especially having sky plus and PS 3, so we could watch Netflix!

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was an amazing base to explore not only Falmouth but also Cornwall. It was the perfect place to warm up after a blustery day out and also to enjoy quiet evenings in. The location is perfect, with easy access to a whole host of places to eat and drink, and the flat itself was well equipped and extremely comfortable! Steve was an excellent host - the best we have ever had staying in an Airbnb and sorted out any queries we had quickly! We could not recommend this place more!

    Lucy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and Steve was very helpful

    Charlotte2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Steve's beautiful apartment in a short space of time, as we loved it so much last time! Its a wonderful location with amazing views either side and is perfect for relaxing or exploring the local area. It's spotlessly clean with great amenities - can't recommend it enough :)

  • Abi has great communication, is there to greet you, show you how things work in the chalet and recommended places to go. Perfect little stay away especially if you want to travel to different parts of Cornwall as it's very central.

  • Great location, only 15 minutes drive to the Truro park and ride which only cost £1 each on Saturdays which made a great trip out. Good local places for food however If you are looking for a quite night in the kitchen is very well equipped and modern. I liked that the tap doubles up as filtered water. Abi was very welcoming and the response time with the hosts was very prompt and helped lots with recommendations of what to do. Good private parking on driveway and very private location. Also liked the private path to our chalet. Hope to Come again sometime and all the best with the future.

Set within the grounds of the original Count House for the Basset mines (as featured on Poldark). Nestled on a world heritage site. North Coast beaches just 5 miles away. Cosy cottage in a tranquil location, overlooking Carn brea and views to the coast. Ideal as a base for exploring the rugged beauty of Cornwall whilst remaining a short drive away from the local town and shops.
Little Basset is a cosy cottage which has its own fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with its own closet space, and bathroom in which there is a shower.
Little Basset is located on private grounds on the outskirts of Carnkie. Carnkie is a peaceful, friendly village in the heart of the old mining community. There is a pub a half a mile walk away and taxis are readily available, it is also a walking distance from Carn Brea castle which is a Jordanian restaurant; the castle itself can be traced back to 1379. The main thing Carnkie has to offer is the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere!

  • This is a very cute, simple little cottage in a pretty amazing area. You can walk all the way up Carn Brea from the doorstep :) Not too easy to find (it is not the Carnkie in Helston!) but Alisa was very helpful with directions and quick to respond. Very quiet and solitary - a great little escape!

    Nicola2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very sweet, warm and cosy nest. It provides all that is needed and it is in a charming location among ruins of the mining past of the area. The coast is at about 20-30 minutes driving and it is stunning, also featuring St Ives. We had a great week and also enjoyed the amazing hospitality and kindness of Ailsa always ready to help and support us.

  • A beautiful cornish cottage that is cosy, warm and in a lovely quiet village setting. Tara is a warm happy to help kind of lady who makes you feel very welcome im her home. We arrived quite late (after 22:00) but it was not an issue for her at all. To top it off she has the softest, fluffiest cat I have ever met and I fell in love (I am a dog person), it was hard not to take him with us when we left

The annex itself was modern, well-equipped and absolutely spotless! There were a couple of added personal touches including homemade scones, jam and clotted cream. Although there was no hob, the mini oven was sufficient enough to cook basics. Highly recommended.

Great communication and patience, especially when we got lost in the dark! cant fault our stay, just wish it had been longer will certainly book again next year.

  • Spacious, clean and well equipped caravan in a fantastic peaceful rural location. Our hosts (Denzel and Monika) were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Kate showed us how everything worked, and her hand -illustrated notes on local places to visit were much appreciated and used by us. The caravan had everything we needed to self cater, amd the welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The little garden area with seating was lovely. The paddock area had friendly horses and goats, and we were able to feed them from our garden. By the end of our stay we felt that we'd made friends- both human and animal! Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time here, with the kindest and most thoughtful hosts. The location is close to everything you’d need in terms of beaches, local towns, tourist attractions and even an organic farm shop, which is literally down the road. The caravan was very clean and well equipped and the hosts were always on hand if we needed anything, even offering to do our laundry for us. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely book again! Thank you so much for making our stay so lovely. :)

My place is close to the beaches and great views of The Atlantic in the north and the sea in the south. There are restaurants and dining and art and culture in nearby towns of Falmouth and St Ives. It's an unique area where you can discover old Cornish mining sites. You’ll love my place because of the views and the space in my garden. The cottage is cosy and full of light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with kids.

Located on a private lane with private parking and access through a tiered garden, The Pound is a two bedroom (connected rooms) L-shaped flat. The front door leads into the lounge with bedrooms to the right. From the left a step takes you into the kitchen with the bathroom on the left.
‘The Pound’ is a quirky two bedroom (connecting rooms) log cabin flat. It also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom and is accessed via a zig zag path leading up from a designated parking area. When we bought the house 6 years ago, The Pound was a dog grooming parlour, hence the name, which was in a very bad state. We renovated it for two of our sons to live in and a few years on, and both sons having moved out, it is now surplus to our requirements, so have decided to rent it out for you to stay in to enjoy the Cornish experience. We have tried to think of everything you would need during your stay to make it a home from home holiday. At the front of the property there is a storage box which houses recycling bags and where your bagged rubbish can be stored for collection on a Thursday evening. As we are close to the A30, which can be seen from the front of the property, there is traffic noise outside but not within the accommodation. There is a table and 4 chairs on the patio at the front of the property but as the property is surrounded by large trees there is only direct sunlight in the morning. To the left side of The Pound there is a small gate which gives access to our garden which you are more than welcome to use on sunnier days and meet our friendly Labrador, Jago. Located between Illogan, Portreath and Redruth there is easy access by road to each. Jenn's Diner is a family-run American style diner a one minute walk away. The Track is a five acre cycle facility based near Portreath and is less than 1 mile away. The Track is suitable for ALL types of mountain bikes, E-Bikes, BMX bikes and balance bikes and all ages and abilities. Kernow Hydro pool is also situated on this site. The Cornish mining town of Redruth town is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to all surrounding towns and villages via the public bus and train system. Redruth is home to a variety of exceptional pasty shops, individual shops, cafes, cinema/theatre and boasts the home of the famous William Murdoch, the first man to invent domestic gaslighting. His house can be visited and his invention is celebrated with Murdoch Day every year during mid June with an exciting programme of events including children’s dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old time fair exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events around the town. Redruth also hosts an annual Pasty & Mining Festival each September. The event is focussed around the town centre. The Friday is Mining Day, the Saturday is Pasty Day and the Sunday is Memorial & Fun Day. Activities on Pasty Day include cookery demonstrations and ‘make your own pasty’. Portreath is the closest beach, being only 3 miles away. With Porthtowan, Gwithian, Hayle, St Ives, St Agnes and Perranporth all a stones’ through away on the north Cornish coast. Each beach is unique boasting beautiful golden sand, cliffs and rocks with miles of coastal paths ready to be discovered with The Pound being a great location for you to relax after any expedition, however being close to the A30 there is traffic noise in the garden, but not inside the accommodation. Overlooking both Camborne and Redruth and reaching up to 738 feet above sea level is Carn Brea which is 1.8 miles away. The Carn can be seen from most high ground in Cornwall and the monument on top easily picked out. Conversely the view from the top of the Carn takes in both coasts and a good deal of the Camborne/Redruth conurbation. What is not apparent from any distance is the size of the monument, with it being a 90 foot high granite obelisk. The huge hexagonal column was erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Bassett, Lord de Dunstaville. The Bassetts where the most important mining family in the area and had lived in Tehidy for over 700 years (Tehidy is now the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now managed as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area. Francis Bassett was however the first to be elevated to the nobility due to his efforts to raise an army of miners to defend the port of Plymouth from the combined Spanish and French fleets. Another legacy of the Bassett family is Carn Brea Castle. It is suggested that it started out as an Elizabethan hunting lodge, was a Victorian folly and is now a restaurant. Carn Brea also has associations with the legendary giants of Cornwall. It is said to be the home of the giant Bolster who when standing could put his other foot on top of St Agnes Beacon over 10 miles away! Cornwall's capital city Truro is 11 miles away. Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the duchy of Cornwall. Designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson, it is one of only three cathedrals in the UK which has three spires. Completed in 1910 it is a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture. A must-see place to visit in Cornwall with free entry. The Bissoe Cycle Path is a coast to coast trail that links Portreath harbour 11 miles across the county to the port of Devoran on the South coast. In the 1800s, this trail was used as a mineral tramway for the copper mines around Redruth. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit and is 33 miles away. The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean where they hold musicals and operas every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is 27 miles away. St Michaels Mount is 17 miles away. St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. St Ives is classed as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and listed as one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman’s cottages and only 17 miles away.

Tin - the powerhouse of Cornwall's industrial past. Oak wooded, heather topped valleys with crystal streams once throbbed with the racket of tin streaming - winning precious metals. Engine houses and stacks bear stark, romantic testament to a heritage borne of the bravery and determination of generations of miners and Bal maidens.A short distance inland from Perranporth, St. Agnes and Chapel Porth are the Victorian towns of Camborne and Redruth - both produced world-class inventors and engineers. Camborne's Richard Trevithick created the world's first steam-powered road engine in 1801. His achievements are celebrated at Camborne's annual Trevithick Day celebrations in April. Redruth was an astonishing crucible of industry, the Scottish engineer William Murdoch lived here in the late 18th century and developed domestic gas lighting. Today, Camborne and Redruth are busy shopping and commercial centres that share a legacy of handsome 19th-century buildings and a remarkable industrial archaeology.Further inland is Stithians Lake, for fishing, sailing, sailboarding and recently the stunning wake-boarding championships. For views of the whole region take the roads to Carn Brea or Carn Marth above Camborne. From here you can see St Ives, St Michael's Mount, Falmouth and east to Clay Country. Near here is the Great Flat Lode Trail through the mines and high moors.Cornwall's mining country is steeped in history and is the industrial heart of the county. These days, most of the mining has disappeared, but it is still a fascinating area to explore and is steeped in history. A highlight is to hire a bicycle and ride along the old mineral tramway from Devoran to Portreath or the North Coast. The harbour town of Falmouth is within a short drive with a number of attractions for the visitor. There is the fascinating National Maritime Museum or you can take a boat trip around the spectacular Carrick Roads or sample the stylish Rick Stein's Fish & Chip Restaurant or Oyster Bar.The Helford River and Lizard Peninsula are also within easy reach. Take a walk along Frenchman's Creek made famous by Daphne du Maurier, visit the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek or take a drive down to the wild Lizard Point, Britain's most southerly point. Kynance Cove is not to be missed with its white Sands and turquoise water make this one of Cornwall's most beautiful spots.

  • We had a lovely stay over the christmas break and would certainly visit again. The cottage was very clean and spacious. The hot tub and games room was a nice addition. Car required, but plenty of parking, and a short distance from Falmouth. Many thanks.

  • Absolutely beautiful setting and the amenities were outstanding! Everything we could've needed was provided and everything we wanted to do was within driving distance - ideal location! The hot tub was an added bonus - we spent every evening there! Beautiful cottage, very clean and tidy, very spacious! Will definitely be returning!

  • Had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful home. The modern touches to the building look stunning from the outside and the hot tub, heated pool and sauna area were definitely a luxury. Having a car is useful as nearest shops/town are a little drive away. The space was so relaxing and peaceful at all times - can’t fault it.

  • Beautiful modern cottage setting in gorgeous, tranquil woodland/countryside surroundings with lovely onsite pool and other facilities. Cottage was clean and very spacious for two and our little baby. Had everything you need (beds made and towels provided etc ) just need to bring your own self-catering basics if you're staying longer than 1 night; tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper etc as only a small amount supplied. Perfect location to explore the area - Falmouth really close as well as a selection of beautiful beaches. Pool area was an added bonus and surrounded by beautiful oak trees and the hot tub and sauna were lovely and hot!

  • A great base for a trip to visit family. Warm, snuggly and clean. Only downside was the leaking tap on the first night (open plan accommodation and I’m a light sleeper) but was quickly fixed without us needing to be around. I would stay here again!

Light airy room in Frogpool, a small village within easy reach of both the north & south coast & close to the Penryn Campus of the University of Exeter.
Situated in the quiet village of Frogpool, between Falmouth and Truro this house is perfect for anyone wanting to visit Cornwall, but stay a little off the beaten track & as such you own transport is definitely required in this area. There is always plenty of parking just outside. The room is fresh, and light, getting the afternoon sun, and a great place to stay as a base for those wanting to explore. There's a village pub that serves food and drink within walking distance. As well as the room we allow guests access to the bathroom, kitchen & outside areas. Guests are free to come & go as they please. We are pet friendly, we ask for a small additional charge payable on booking for your furry (or not so furry) friends. We're about a 10 minute drive from the University & 15 minutes from Falmouth which is the gateway to the beautiful Fal River which runs through an Area Of Natural Beauty. The town is famous for its creative buzz with many art galleries displaying contemporary works and venues showcasing independent films and live bands. The many reasons to visit include, the fascinating maritime heritage; the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the Helford and Fal Rivers – perfect for walking and family days out; water sports; boat trips running from the pier and quay; and plenty of family friendly attractions. Falmouth is surrounded by several fantastic family friendly beaches and is known for its year round events calendar. Truro the only city in Cornwall is a 20 minute drive from us, the UK’s most Southerly city is a vibrant centre of shopping, culture and impressive architecture right in the heart of Cornwall. Centre stage is Truro Cathedral with its impressive gothic towers dominating the skyline. In its shadow, a warren of compact streets are home to an impressive array of independent traders. From boutiques to bookshops and designer interiors to delicatessens, this great little city offers a unique shopping experience. The café culture is pretty impressive too, with hip coffee houses, artisan ice creameries and cocktail bars dotted across the centre. We're also about a 25 minute from spectacular north coast beaches, Perranporth with it's 3 miles of golden sands & Chapel Porth with it's incredible cliffs & old mine workings are 2 of our favourites.
Our neighborhood is lovely, it's quiet and peaceful. Close to both the north & south coast beaches & plenty of walking. We are both mountain bikers, and there are some great trails right on our doorstep.
  • Cat, put her trust in me to stay in her lovely home whilst she and her husband were away, considering we haven't actually met each other. They have a lovely home which is very clean and comfortable, and I always like to treat someone else's home the same way I like people to treat mine, with care and respect. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

  • Cat and Zack are lovely host. The room infact the entire house was sparking clean, the room is done in a very modern way and it immediately makes you feel at home. The hosts take care of everything you could need on your vacations - from an easy check in process to making sure you have basics like water in your room to ensuring the room is equipped with toiletries and amenities like hair dryer. Absolutely loved our stay with them and would recommend it to everyone!

  • As described a lovely room in a nice little house, hosted by a lovely couple, set in the Cornish countryside. These two were very accommodating in accepting me into their home even though I was working nights and sleeping during the day. Even going so far as to ask their cleaner to come in a little later than usual. I was made to feel very welcome thank you 🙏

    Heike2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Although our stay was short with Deborah, we found it lovely and cozy, felt at home straight the way. Lovely and clean, bed was so comfy. Huge shower. Breakfast was supplied, fantastic selection. Even our dog was made welcome too. Definitely recommend.

    Rodney2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Penryn with my daughter to look at the uni and Deborah's place is the perfect base. We got the train and the walk was only 10/15 minutes from the station. Walking to the uni was about 20/25 minutes and Falmouth was easily reached by train or bus. Despite not having a car, we were able to reach places easily. Deborah was really helpful, giving us advice how to get around as well as places to eat. We ate at the Muddy Beach in Penryn the first night which was walkable and the food was really good. Deborah's place was just what we needed for our weekend in Cornwall. We had the downstairs to ourselves and the room had an ensuite shower/kitchenette where we could make a cup of tea, toast etc. Thoughtful touches such as milk, juice etc in the fridge were much appreciated as well as bagels and cereal left for breakfast. All mod cons were provided such as an iron, hairdryer, washing machine etc. We also had access to a private seated area outside but we were so busy visiting the local area, we didn't get time to make use of it. I would highly recommend staying at Deborah's and if our daughter ends up at the uni, I will definitely be returning! Many thanks to you all for having us as airbnb guests! Charlotte.

  • Great. Easy location if you're visiting university campus for anything.

    Daniel2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a weekend in Penryn for a conference at the University campus. Deborah’s house is lovely and she made me feel at home. I arrived very late for the check-in and most of the restaurants around were already closed, but Deborah was so kind to find one that was still open and order dinner for me. Her cat was very welcoming as well, he personally came to my room to say hi :)

The Brook is equidistant from St Agnes, Porthtowan and Portreath with their stunning beaches with fabulous surf and acres of golden sand. Porthtowan (meaning cove of sand dunes) has some of the best surf in the UK. However it is sometimes not for the faint hearted and beginners should be careful but there is an excellent surf school which operates from the beach. Portreath (meaning cove of sand) is a delightful village which extends both sides of a valley leading down into a little harbour and beach. West of the harbour entrance are two more beaches with golden sands that are popular with holidaymakers and surfers alike. The centre point on the Bissoe cycle trail that links the north and south coasts stretching from Devoran to Portreath. with predominantly off road mining trails passes the end of your drive - no driving required at all!.Tin - the powerhouse of Cornwall's industrial past. Oak wooded, heather topped valleys with crystal streams once throbbed with the racket of tin streaming - winning precious metals. Engine houses and stacks bear stark, romantic testament to a heritage borne of the bravery and determination of generations of miners and Bal maidens. The area of Mid Cornwall, south west from Truro and only a short drive inland from Falmouth is full of this industrial heritage. The Victorian towns of Camborne and Redruth - both produced world-class inventors and engineers. Camborne's Richard Trevithick created the world's first steam-powered road engine in 1801. His achievements are celebrated at Camborne's annual Trevithick Day celebrations in April. You can follow in the footsteps of Cornwall's 18th Century tin miners on the atmospheric tour of the Poldark Mine just north of Helston.Nearby is Stithians Lake, for fishing, sailing, sailboarding and recently the stunning wake-boarding championships. For views of the whole region take the roads to Carn Brea or Carn Marth above Camborne. From here you can see St Ives, St Michael's Mount, Falmouth and east to Clay Country. Near here is the Great Flat Lode Trail through the mines and high moors. These days, most of the mining has disappeared, but it is still a fascinating area to explore and is steeped in history. A highlight is to hire a bicycle and ride along the old mineral tramway now called the Bissoe Trail from Devoran to Portreath or the North Coast. The city of Truro is only a 7 mile drive to the north east and has a wide selection of good shopping including a Tescos, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer and many other high street outlets. There is also a cinema and a great selection of restaurants, pubs & cafes. The resort of Newquay is about 12 miles to the north with its spectacular surf beaches at Fistral & Watergate Bay. Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" restaurant is located here. Padstow, with its fine selection of restaurants influenced by Rick Stein is just over 20 miles. Harbourside towns & villages such as Fowey, Falmouth & St Mawes are all within easy reach. For those flying to Cornwall, the airport is within easy reach.
  • Extremely clean and tidy, all the little extras that make a stay a pleasure

  • We really enjoyed our stay at The Brook! Bev & John were so hospitable and friendly, they helped us with our plans and were always on hand if we needed them. The Brook had great facilities and was a great base for us to explore southern Cornwall, due to it's central location. The house is so private, the hot tub was a great addition after a long day exploring. Thankyou for a great stay!

Trethellan Lodge is a cosy, one bedroom barn conversion located on our 3.5 acre smallholding in totally unspoilt Cornish countryside. Centrally located at only 15-20 minutes from both North and South coasts and with all major tourist attractions within easy reach. In addition to the private garden with outdoor seating, guests can also enjoy meeting our alpacas, goats, horses & chickens. A perfect opportunity for a peaceful and relaxing stay!
This cottage has a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with shower over and tiled flooring. The open-plan living area has a vintage leather sofa and oak flooring, a TV, Freeview, DVD, wifi and dining area. The kitchen area offers a gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher. An enclosed garden with patio furniture. Access to shared laundry room with washing machine. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating are included. Please contact us if you would like to bring a well-behaved dog. No smoking in the properties or on the smallholding.
We are situated in a delightful rural location - it sometimes feels like we could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle, but everything needed is actually in very easy reach. For groceries and other supplies, the closest shops are: o Londis in Lanner: A small convenience store North of Bell Lane, which closes at 8pm o Co-op in Redruth: A larger convenience store on the main road in, open until 9pm o Tesco in Redruth: A reasonably sized super-market o Asda in Penryn: A larger supermaket with homegoods, clothing, etc. And the nearest filling stations are: o Gulf in Lanner, South of Bell Lane o Imperial on the A393 between Lanner and Ponsanooth Asda in Penryn typically has the lowest cost fuel. The nearest ATM is located in the Gulf filling station in Lanner. Redruth, Penryn and Falmouth are all within easy reach and have the usual range of for High street banks. If you don’t feel like cooking, the fish and chip shop in Lanner is fantastic, and Portreath Bakery (also in Lanner) sells amazing (bona fide!) Cornish pasties and other goodies. And of course being in the countryside means we have some fantastic walks directly from the farm. The vehicle gate to the left of the farmhouse leads to a bridle way which in turn leads to a network of public footpaths, including the historic and scenic mining trails. For a relatively easy 30-40 minute walk, turn right out the gate and head up the hill past the farmhouse. This will eventually lead you to the road from Lanner which you can follow back to the property in circuit.
  • A very warm welcome and a very comfortable place to stay in a lovely quiet setting. Conveniently located for north and south coasts as well as Truro and other local attractions, we (and our dogs) really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

  • I stayed at the barn for 2 nights whilst visiting my daughter who is at uni in Penryn. All I can say is I’m so glad I found the barn! What an absolute gem it is. Iain and Julia were fabulous hosts, welcoming and friendly. The barn was so cosy and warm , with everything you need. The large kitchen was really well equipped. The bed was sooooo comfy with beautiful cotton bed linen. It was a real treat to come back to every evening. I loved feeding the alpacas in the morning. I thought the barn was incredible value for money and would whole heartedly recommend it!

    Sam2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very good stay and total value for money. It’s a great location if you don’t mind a little drive out in the evenings but would be completely perfect for someone looking for somewhere very quiet which is exactly how we like things! Very many thanks for having us indeed as we would certainly book again.

    John2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Iain’s place was lovely and cosy, it is situated in the countryside but only 5/10 min drive from the town. He has a little small holding with alpacas, angora goats and horses which is a lovely touch for an animal lover like myself! Lots of rural walks around too which is perfect for the dog!

    Lauren2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and immaculately clean. Iain and Julia are excellent hosts with a beautiful property and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Brilliant location for North and South coasts with stunning views of the Cornish countryside.

    Debbie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly friendly and helpful owners with a lovely Cornish farmstead. The lodge was exactly what we wanted; comfortable, warm, clean and full of character. Our dog loved the nearby walks along the bridleways and beaches, as well as the farm animals (the alpacas especially!) Communication was quick, directions were accurate and it was a bargain for the price! We would definitely stay here again.

Our mobile home is a 2018 model and is very nicely decorated. There is ample room for a family of four, with two loos and a shower. There is a fridge/freezer and gas cooker. The home is centrally heated and is double glazed. It is situated in our yard in a sun trap. It is a 10 minute drive to the beaches and also 10 minutes to the centre of Truro, which is a lovely city, lots of shops, cafes and quaint streets. An ideal getaway.
We are very central, living in between the north and south coasts, there are several National Trust properties nearby as well Truro has excellent restaurants and a cinema. The Eden Project is not too far either.
  • Would really recommend this home for comfort and locality

  • Its a lovely static caravan, bags of space, cosy and sparkling clean. It`s in a private peaceful spot with lots of space for parking. • We had a lovely week at Sally's place with our two small children. The accommodation is surprisingly spacious and extremely well equipped and comfortable. We arrived to cake, biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge and never even unpacked our bag of kitchen essentials. Location is excellent for travelling within Cornwall and Sally provided lots of useful local information. We would return.

  • Lori's place is a fabulous place to say, in a quiet setting, a beautifully done up property with lots of characters and charm. Lori called to say hello on arrival, and was there to be contacted if needed. My wife thought the shower was 'one of the best ever'! Lori also left some lovely scones and jam for us to find when we first got there. We really liked the place, and booked it again on our return home.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we will not be taking bookings, sorry. Peace & quiet abound in this one-bedroom annexe close to the village of Stithians. The living room centres around a large fireplace, with beamed ceiling. It's full of character with two large Chesterfield sofas. Chy Bian offers a kitchen, double bedroom with ornate iron frame bed, en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Chy Bian is a great escape for couples looking for a central location in SW Cornwall.
Chy Bian is located in the heart of south west Cornwall, conveniently close to Truro and Falmouth (both about 20mins away) as well as the north & south coasts (also about 20mins away). The University campus at Penryn is only 15mins away. If you are a member of the National Trust then you'll find your membership will give you access to a multitude of great places! Chy Bian's rural location makes it ideal for couples looking for peace and quiet. There is plenty of walking to be had in the area too, with many miles of footpaths taking you through some stunning Cornish scenery. A bird spotters paradise with over 35 species seen in the garden, not counting the chickens! The village of Stithians has two good shops with local produce, including cheeses, meat, milk, bread and beers, wines and ciders as well as plenty of fresh veg! It also has two good pubs! Nearby is Stithians lake which is set up for sailing, kayaking, windsurfing & course fishing. If you really want to kick back, and don't fancy making breakfast then head up the lane to Wild Vibes at Stithians Lake. You'll find the tastiest locally sourced ingredients for vegan, veggie or a meat lovers breakfasts and brunches. Chy Bian is a comfortable single level annexe with views of the front and back gardens & fields beyond, and the owners (living next door) are on hand if you need them. It has all you will need for a get away from it all break, including freshly laid eggs from our very own chickens! Please note we'll provide with you some essentials (some tea, milk, butter, bread and a couple of toilet rolls). The living room has two large Chesterfield sofas, Freeview TV, DVD player and DVDs, books and board games in the chest of drawers, a small dining table and chairs. The kitchen has a hob and oven, microwave, toaster, washing machine and fridge freezer. The bedroom has a wrought iron Victorian double bed, and antique wardrobe and chest of drawers. We use feather bedding in Chy Bian. If you are vegan or have an allergy to feathers please let us know in advance and we can provide you with non-feather bedding. There are additional pillows and blankets if needed. Please note that although blankets and towels are provided these are for Chy Bian and not for the beach, thanks. Outside we provide a barbecue for your use, but please note we do not supply the charcoal. Please note that mobile reception is patchy in Cornwall, and so it is in Chy Bian. Signal can be found in parts of the property or outside! Ideal if you want to get away from it all!
Very quiet. Lots of wildlife during the day and wonderful dark skies at night.

Portreath, situated on the North Cornwall coast, about 5 miles north of Redruth, was originally a small fishing village. Today it's a beautiful retreat with a narrow harbour, secluded sandy beaches and a stream running to the sea on one side. It is ideal for swimming, surfing and windsailing in watched by the local Surf and Life Saving Club. Portreath offers the pleasures of sea and countryside with beautiful views, spectacular cliffs and walking trails. Illogan Woods is adjacent to Portreath with lovely streams and a circular walk leading to the 14th century church tower of Illogan. There is also Tehidy Country Park just outside of Portreath with its adjoining golf-course. It is a beautiful country park comprised of 250 acres of woodland, lakes, bridleways, cycling and nature trails. There are several ponds and a lake with swans and various kinds of waterfowl.Occupying a dramatic valley location with one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast, Porthtowan has been drawing visitors for years to take advantage of its natural sun trap. A superb location for a holiday to Cornwall with a fine beach and close to good main roads means that you can easily explore the surrounding area on days that are not conducive to sitting on the beach.Porthtowan has one of Cornwall's finest surfing waves. Producing good waves at all states of the tide, the wave is particularly good in an easterly or south easterly when it really pumps with some lovely hollow barrels. It is not for the faint hearted and beginners should be careful. An excellent surf school operates from the beach. At low tide the beach stretches down to St Agnes Head and Chapel Porth Beach where you will find a lovely National Trust Cafe full of warming hot chocolate and fabulous views. From Porthtowan you are ideally located to reach the many beaches on the North Coast famous for attracting keen surfers and beginners alike.
  • What a beautiful place, the guys had obviously thought long and hard as we had everything we needed for a fun packed 4 days, the hot tub was the icing on the cake (cleanest one we have had use of).

  • We had a great time at ‘Snapper’ and it exceeded our expectations in every way. When we arrived the directions to the lodge were easy to follow and we were in the hot tub within a few minutes (great after the long drive). Accommodation was great. Spacious living / dining area and clean, well decorated bedrooms. Never been to Cornwall before and we all loved it. Lots to see and do, with the lodge a great base to return to each night for a glass of wine and to enjoy the fantastic view (sometimes from the hot tub). Would recommend highly and likely that we will return again next year. We loved it!

  • Bungalow was spacious and well equipped. Location ideal - peaceful, safe for toddlers and only a 5 minute drive to Portreath with other popular destinations within easy reach. Jacuzzi was loved by all – especially the children. Easy check-in/out and good communications with host. Recommended and would happily stay here again if returning to the area.

  • Book this place! We have just got back from our 6 person stay friends get away and I feel revived. Very relaxing with the use of the hot tub day or night (even in january) and rolling hill views. Beautiful and convenient location with a big tesco just up the road for shopping and a gorgeous woodland walk to the beach. The cottageitself is modern and stylish and had 6 of us living comfotably. Very pleased to have had such a wonderful time.
