  • We had an amazing time staying at Dan and Kellies place! The views from the deck at sunset are amazing. The dogs had a blast running through the huge property all day. Dan stopped by a few times to make sure everything was ok and help with anything we needed. Will definitely be booking another stay here soon!

  • You will not find a better bargain paired with such a beautiful space! Frank and Moonyean were top notch hosts, responsive to all our questions and needs, and made our stay one of the best ever! We enjoy cooking our own meals when on the road - their fully stocked kitchen matched wonderfully with our requirements. The space is clean, spacious, and very private. While we don’t have children, the space is laid out for little tykes, and the hosts are clearly welcoming and considerate of all ages of their guests. Fully recommend this space and its gracious hosts!

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive and helpful.

    Alicia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Frank and Moonyean’s place. It was a perfect spot for our family to spend a week between holiday events and visiting friends. Their place was very clean and modern, but what stood out most is how thoughtful it was laid out and furnished. We had everything we needed to cook meals, relax, and keep our kids busy. The beds were very comfortable! In addition to the great space, they were exceedingly helpful with open and clear communication out entire stay. You can easily call this place home during your stay!

  • I really enjoyed staying here. Beautiful location. Great house with lots of old farm house charm, including great history. Very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

    Jamie2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bill was fantastic. He gave us a great deal on photos (very unexpected), offered to build us fires outside for us (even when it was crazy cold), and to top it all off he brushed the snow off our vehicle before we got up and it had snowed the night prior. Great place, lots of fun! If it was closer we would look into buying the place.

    Shane2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This rustic getaway is clean, quirky, quiet and comfortable. Bill and Rhonda are great hosts and had helpful and quick communication. They were flexible in the check. This is a great location if you want a romantic getaway. Highly recommend it.

  • Amazing value. It's not a bad location if you're exploring the Spring Green area. Steven is a great host and has plenty of useful tips/suggestions. The Pour House has a fantastic breakfast menu at a great price too. The bed was not the best but overall my husband and I didn't mind. It was a comfortable stay, and we'll stay again if we're in the area.

  • This was a unique and fun place to stay. The bartender and cook were fabulous. Very quiet, and the drive to reach the time town was more than worth it!

  • I had a great time staying here. Hung out downstairs at the bar with the locals. Food was great, company was great. Such a great little bar and great people to make you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

  • This was a great, affordable place to spend the night while passing through town on a road trip. Check-in was easy, and the bar and restaurant downstairs were super convenient.

    Hana2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • I needed a place to break up a long drive and this was perfect. The room was inexpensive, clean, the bed firm, and the bathroom clean and everything worked well. I enjoyed a full Wisconsin dinner of cheeseburger, cheese curds, beer and ice cream downstairs and had a good sleep upstairs.

  • Absolutely great hospitality. Super affordable liquor. Rock is great. He even opened the kitchen just for the 6 of us late in the night after closing time. We all had a great time.

  • I wasnt sure what to expect going to Stockton, IL for a 3-month stay, but JB's apartment exceeded all expectations! As a student staying in the area alone for an internship, JB went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home and safe here. He allowed me privacy yet was always a phone call away for any issues! Highly recommend this place to anyone coming to the area! A short drive from beautiful Galena and a beautiful drive to Freeport or Dubuque. This place is comfy and perfect for a single or family traveler(s)!

    Taylor2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jb’s place is great. He was very helpful with suggestions. He was also very flexible, and allowed us to add a guest to our reservation at the last minute. The location is perfect in Stockton. It’s a very nice apartment. We were very comfortable during our stay.

  • Our stay at the Ivy Inn was lovely. The space is clean, spacious, and comfortable. JB greeted us for check in and walked us through the apartment explaining anything we would need to know. He was so incredibly friendly and even left us with some snacks, juice, and coffee! The apartment is right on Main Street in Stockton and just a step away from a great cafe with delicious breakfast. Parking was easy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you, JB!

The place was clean and centrally located in town. On the whole, we would highly recommend that others stay here if they are in the area. Stockton is a great little town, and JB's place is a great value. We hope to come back and visit sometime in the future!

Just 2 mi. from downtown Savanna & the Mississippi River lies the rustic "guesthouse" called The Outback Inn. COVERED PARKING for cars/ small boats, LOCKED indoor parking for MOTORCYCLES. RV HOOK UPS, WiFi, wood burning stove, large bonfire pit, a 10' X 10' covered DOG KENNEL w/ X-lg igloo dog house ( no animals inside residence). There's hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, the 400+ mi bike path, or just relaxing on the porch swing. MESSAGE US FIRST IF YOU WANT TO BRING MORE THAN 3 GUESTS
It's country living & generally a quiet & relaxing neighborhood. The birds sing a symphony in the mornings & the owls talk back & forth to each other after dark. You might hear the coyotes howl at night. We offer a Wilson signal booster that you can place your phone on to improve your phone reception if your carrier service is weak in this area. There is a sofa bed plus a fold down futon. The space is great for 3 adults or 2 adults/2 young children or 4 adults if pre-arranged with us. There is a $25 fee for each guest over the initial 2 guests.
We are outside the city limits. There's a few friendly neighbors on the easement & across the pasture. It's generally quiet & peaceful. The Mississippi Palisades State Park is 2 mi north of us. An addition was erected on the home behind The Outback Inn last summer. It's fairly close but we never see the neighbors unless he is mowing. They are wonderful, quiet people.
  • Sue's place was wonderful. Everything was very clean,, convenient, and well thought out. There's a really nice wood-burning stove in the living room, which is a great substitute for a TV, and the yard has a nice fire pit. The entire place has many personalized touches which gives off a really nice homey feeling. It's also very quiet, gets very dark at night, and the stars in that area are nothing to scoff at. Book this place asap!

    Mikhail2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Outback Inn! Sue is an excellent host and is very responsive. The house is very clean with everything you need being provided. Experience the farm life at Heritage Hollow. Thirty acres of woods, prairie, and pastures surround the recently updated 1860s farmhouse. Interact with resident horses, sheep, rabbits, chickens and abundant nature. Private setting for your small group. Owner onsite in for care, safety, and enhanced exposure with the animals; resides in separate area of farmhouse with private entrance. Children welcome, as well as pets (additional pet fee applies). 35 minutes from Galena Illinois.
Recently renovated, the farmhouse incorporates century-old barn beams and quirky original doors which mix seamlessly with granite counter tops, farm sink, and luxurious bedding. The thirty acre working hobby farm provides interactive, guest-friendly experiences for visitors, such as collecting eggs, petting the animals, "helping" with chores, and learning about farm functions. Aptly named, the farm hosts several heritage breeds; endangered strains of farm stock that have been eliminated from commercial farming markets. Horses, bunnies, chickens, Leicester Longwool sheep, and resident Great Pyrenees farm dog Scout round out the farmyard offerings. Wild birds, deer, and other native wildlife abound.
    Quiet. Very Quiet.
  • If you want to enjoy a serene, curious, and cozy vacation, come to Heritage Hollow! Me and my family of five + our dog Monk won’t forget this beautiful experience. Aby was an above and beyond host. She set the tone for a cozy farm life experience. First of all, the home is lovely. A spacious kitchen full of every utensil and contraption for food making, soft blankets galore, three comfortable rooms for sleeping (the King sized bed is literal heaven). There is a fireplace in the dining area and a large table to gather round. Cozy lighting and outdoor bird feeders add extra serenity. The bathrooms offer all that you need and then some. The entire home is very clean and the details - lighting, furniture, and antiques - are extra inviting. A site to sink into. Once you get over the farmhouse and then step back outdoors, the joyful overwhelm starts again. Get up close and personal with horses, sheep, chickens, bunnies, cats, and the glorious New Finland, Scout! These creatures are so grounding and fun to interact with. My children were delighted to help Aby with farm chores, and Aby graciously obliged them. My kids fell in love with Aby. They cried the day we had to leave, telling me how much they would miss her. Coming to this place, I could feel the love in every detail. It was a good place to rest and spend quality time with family. We will definitely be returning! Is it too soon to say home away from home? Come visit! You will be so glad you did!

    Abbey2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Surprised my wife for her birthday to a weekend at Heritage Hollow. It was a pretty magical experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the adorable Scout and all the other farm animals. The property is beautiful - we went on a couple walks down the trail which was quite serene. The farmhouse was clean and decorated nicely - felt very cozy. Aby was the best hostess - not only helpful and communicative, but also enjoyable to talk to and learn from! It’s been a couple days since we left Heritage Hollow, and my wife still looks at pictures and videos of all the animals; she personally loved learning about and spending time with the sheep and horses. We’ll definitely be back and hopefully convince one of the chickens to let us hold them next time🙂

    Daniel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This farm experience is amazing. Aby is a spectacular host and the farm animals do not disappoint! We loved spending New Year's on the farm, hanging out with the animals (even got some fresh eggs for breakfast!) and just lounging in the very comfortable farm house. We brought our dog who lived his dream vacation running around the property and hanging out with Scout, the farm dog. Aby was generous with her time and hospitality. I would highly recommend Heritage Hollow for an easy, relaxing get-away for the entire family!

    Stephani2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Aby's farm is a perfect getaway if you are looking for tranquil space and a beautiful place to play with the animals and relax!

    Kami2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking views, exhilarating pastoral hikes, and a barnyard full of friendly, curious animals -- plus a cozy farmhouse and a wonderful hostess who has stocked it with everything you might need. The perfect rural escape, just two hours west of Chicago. Don't miss it!

    Lindsay2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Heritage Hollow was everything we could have imagined and so much more! Love is in every detail, from the farm fresh eggs ready in the fridge to how Aby told us stories and facts about each of her animals. The house was the cleanest space I’ve ever stayed in and well equipped to boot. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals. In fact, I can’t really think of a single detail unaccounted for. We can’t wait to come back when the lambs are born in the spring and visit with favorite farm hand Scout. I am shouting Aby’s praise from the rooftops and have already started talking to friends about a group return trip. It is so evident that Aby has crafted her dream and enjoys sharing it with all of her guests. Miss you Funky Foot!

  • Do not pass up this experience! My family and I spent a lovely Thanksgiving at Aby’s little slice of heaven. Clean, spacious, peaceful, updated, thoughtful, comfortable, serene...I could go on and on! Aby was a pleasure to connect with, her farm was a delight and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to escape the bustle of day to day life to spend quality time together as a family. We hope to go back again and again!

  • Aby is an exceptional host. The house was perfectly clean and the farm animals were a lot of fun to visit. Everything was just wonderful.

  • Great location! Walking distance to stuff to do and a great view from the house! The house was very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again!

  • Second time staying here. Very clean and relaxing

    Emily2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Sue are quick with replies and make you feel very at home. Very comfy space that puts you right with nature. We enjoyed seeing Savanna and all its touches, including food reccomendations made by Jim. The view is amazing! We really enjoyed this home and plan to be back!

    Michaela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and comfortable home - perfect get away from the every day norm. Mother Nature hit us with 5 inches of snow followed by an ice storm but we still enjoyed our peaceful stay and were able to get out and see Savanna and meet some locals. Hope to visit again when it’s warmer. Wonderful host - felt right at home.

    Deb2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a nice place to stay! We were able to have coffee on the screened in porch in the morning, the bed was super comfortable and the house was so clean. It was only a few miles to wonderful hiking and a short drive to some great places to visit. My boyfriend had never stayed at an AirBNB before and he said this stay converted him from a hotel only person. Jim was an outstanding host who provided fantastic recommendations.

    Carmen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We originally wanted to stay in Galena, but this place is a hidden GEM and you couldn’t ask for a better host! He was responsive, helpful, and clearly takes very good care of the house. Before our arrival, he had lights and heat turned on so the second we walked in we felt welcomed. The house feels secluded, on top of a hill overlooking the river. Great place to stay for a nice relaxing weekend. Close to a beautiful biking/walking trail through the palisades, a few minute drive to the state park, and only about 40 mins to Galena. We were surprised how great the restaurants were downtown. We wished we could have stayed longer!

    Sara2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place was a cute private little house. Since it was raining on our visit, the screened porch was a great asset. Very comfortable stay with everything you'll need. Easy check in and great communication.

    Ann2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jim’s home is lovely—clean, comfortable, and just what we needed for our weekend get-away. He’s thought through what travelers need, and made sure it’s all there for his guests. And a king-sized bed—what heaven in airbnb land! The view is lovely, the amenities well-considered. Thank you for your hospitality.

Best view in Galena Deck overlooks pond (with quaking bullfrogs) and the 16 th green of the North Golf course. Enjoy a glass of wine on the porch while watching golfers "pluck" balls into the pond. Perfect direct view of pond and green. Enjoy Galena Territory amenities with owner's passes--- work out gym, tennis, basketball, indoor and outdoor pools. Townhouse adjacent to 24 miles of hiking paths. Horseback riding, winter sports and boating nearby. 14 minutes to downtown Galena
  • We had a wonderful stay! The place was just as advertised and had several lovely touches.

    Erin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little spot! The house was full of thoughtful touches, like wine and snacks on the counter, notes about trails (so helpful) and local spots to eat. Unfortunately it was cloudy for our visit, but if the sun was out the view would have been beautiful. Steps away from the trails. Would stay here again.

    Chrissie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was pretty clean and the snack basket was a nice touch. The thermostat went up in the middle of the night to 78, but putting it on heat/cool at a lower temp helped. There was a lot of helpful information provided about local activities and a good movie selection. The place was comfortable and definitely a good stay!

    Kaylee2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is beautiful and cozy here. The hosts are impecable at making your first walk-in perfect. It's a short drive from Galena and beautifully located. We loved their fireplace and looking at the stars from the patio. Would definitely stay here again!

An old barn/machine shed transformed into a great little rustic retreat (which we affectionately call "Westhaven")! A great secluded place to get away from the day-to-day grind. Hiking trails on the premises and possible kayaks. About 5 miles from civilization (town). Come unwind! Friendly animals WELCOME (we speak WOOF! :-) )
Come spend a night or two in a wonderfully rustic remodeled machine shed/barn.
Our place is very serene and secluded. Here's a fun little video one of our guests created while here: https://youtu.be/MT-tYoNc-vk (cut and paste this youtube address into your browser - only 1.5 minutes long)

    Caroline2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly and Kenbob are super friendly and helpful. The space was great and had everything we needed. It is all in one room but it is well laid out. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Coco2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is such as serene environment. There are great hikes around the 100+ acre property. The trails start literally 15 feet from the front door. The dogs and cats are some of the most friendly animals I’ve seen. There is a warm country vibe with all the decorations present. It’s a great location for a creative retreat or if you just way to get away from the city. I’ll definitely be back!

    Taylor2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic, off the beaten path cabin. Cozy and comfortable on the inside with all the amenities you could ask for. The hosts are amazing and are just as interested that you have a great stay as you are. Have to love that. Definitely a place to go back to in the future.

    Mike2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly and Kenbob are truly super hosts! We loved our stay at west haven, we hiked on their property (4 miles worth!!) enjoyed building a fire, and star gazing :) sooooo worth it! Definitely will be back!

    Angie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly & Kenbob are wonderful hosts! They are so thoughtful and will be right there if you need anything! Thank you for the great hospitality!!! We will be back again!

    Christa & Neil2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly and her husband Kenbob were such amazing hosts — they went above and beyond and greeted us personally to show us around the space. The barn was something out of a travel magazine — it was on a gorgeous plot of land and was very stylishly decorated. Jilly left breakfast and tips on local restaurants and our dog Dottie had some much-needed playtime with her two dogs! Thanks again Jilly and Kenbob — we would love to come back for a longer stay some time!

  • Melissa's place is in a great location, only a couple blocks from the historic downtown. Melissa's place is very cute and cozy. After a long drive to get there we enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable chairs in the living area. The beds were very comfortable as well. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay at Melissa's place.

  • Melissa was so easy to communicate with during our whole stay. She was full of kindness and her home was great. This was our first Airbnb stay and because of her we will continue to use them for our future travel. The house was very clean and there were lots of sleeping options, we were thankful for her having some toys for our kids to play with while we were there. We also had fun having a dance party in the living room powered by the Amazon Alexa she had. It was a fun stay!

Loft in building separate from house on 15 acre livestock farm. Full bath & fridge in building. King size bed, with twin on floor, & sofa for additional guests, but the ceiling is at 6 ft so really tall people have to duck. I raise goats, sheep, & cattle so you'll have the opportunity to commune with them while enjoying the land, spring fed creek & pond. Within driving distance of several state parks, the Mississippi, & Galena, IL. An hour to Madison, WI; 2.5 hours to Chicago.
IF YOU ARE A TRAVELLING HEALTHCARE WORKER, MESSAGE ME FOR A DISCOUNTED RATE. 10 x 32 loft room in multipurpose shop/animal housing building. Full bathroom, fridge, coffee maker, tv, and wifi. You won't smell the animals, but the rooster or goats might wake you up. Loft temp in the winter is 68-70 degrees. A space heater is available if you prefer a warmer room. If you're looking for a farm experience on the cheap, here's your place. If you prefer a more traditional motel/b&b type of housing, pass us by. Biker, pagan, LGBTQ friendly.
I live in the provinces. There's no food delivery, but there are small towns within 3 miles with the larger town containing the most amenities ten miles away.
  • If you need what this is... it's perfect! No frills, but all the necessities. Hot shower, decent water pressure, microwave, fridge, comfy bed, very peaceful and quiet except for the occasional animal sound. Very clean. The building is essentially light industrial, but it is very new construction, is heated, and is well lit. I'd choose this sort of set-up over a motel every time. The hosts are friendly and accomodating, but are very hard-working, with a lot of other things to attend to, so this would not be a great choice for guests who are fussy or needy.

    Jesse2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an unusual but interesting place to stay. The set up is adequate but not fancy at all. I am not an overly picky person but if you are allergic to dust, this is not the place for you as it is in a machine shed/barn. The dust wasn't a problem except when I got out of the shower and walked with damp feet on the floor - dirty feet! The owners have an old turn table and tons of vinyl records to play. The king sized bed is super comfortable and, except for farm animal noises, the place is very quiet. The owners gave me lots of privacy, I had the whole building to myself and it's HUGE. Would have loved to have stayed in the spring/summer and actually gotten out with the farm animals.

    Michelle2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is as described. It is a great farm and a very unique place to stay. The animals and the old records were a nice addition. Jeanne and Tom were very welcoming and accommodating.

    Michelle2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • I cant say enough how much I enjoyed staying at Goat Land! Jeanne and Tom (and dingo)were very welcoming even though we were a tad late coming in. Even though it’s getting colder outside it’s cozy and warm inside the barn with a record player stereo system and all of the great oldie records to spin! iI’ll definitely be coming back soon since it’s only two hours from milwaukee! The goats just sealed the deal 🐐♥️✨

    Jade2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne is great and her farm is very peaceful!

    Kate2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Most people won't be able to understand the simplicity, and real beauty in the place. If you want an unbelievable value, in a rolling rural area-hit the RESERVE button now. GOOD HOST(S)....people and animals.

    Justen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne and Tom were excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating, particularly for arranging charging for my Tesla overnight in their shed on the farm. The goats were fun to watch. Pretty good restaurant just a few miles down the road.

    Philip Jay2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • If the idea of bunking above a chicken yard sounds cool, this is your place. Jeanne’s farm stay is clean and comfortable, with all the mod-cons necessary. I did a quick load of clothes, too. The goats are great, the sheep are silent, and the donkey will steal your heart. Jeanne’s a great host. But it’s not super easy to find if you don’t have a sharp Co-pilot. Look for the blue barn roof with a cow statue on top!

The Bawden Furnace Schoolhouse was built in the 1870's and is close to downtown Galena (3.2 mi.), art and culture. The rustic ambiance, natural surroundings, and airy floor plan with wood burning stove make it easy to relax, unplug and unwind. The schoolhouse is perfect for couples and solo adventurers who are looking for a true getaway.
The cottage is a former one room schoolhouse that served the children of lead miners. The Bawden Furnace was the lead mine in which the adults worked. The stone walls are 2 feet thick, and you will notice this detail in the window sills. The front porch is great for bird watching while sitting in the rockers. We have seen many bald eagles from that vantage point. The side patio is perfect for grilling outside while listening to nature.
We are very close to the east fork of the Galena River where many kayaks and canoes launch. This enables visitors to spot the occasional bald eagle and great blue heron. The property has over 30 oak trees, and the terraced garden is influenced by many native perennials which change throughout the seasons. There is also excellent road biking right out the front door.
  • Mark & Trisha's "Stone Cottage Retreat" was beautiful and very relaxing. We had a lovely time. The cottage itself is very clean, organized, spacious, well-stocked, and cozy. It is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet in nature, however, if desired, the cottage is only a short drive to the picturesque and charming town of Galena. This dualism made staying at Stone Cottage a delight for us. Mark & Trisha are both very kind and immediately respond to any questions one may have. Now that we saw the area in winter, we would love to stay at Stone Cottage again and see the beauty of the area during another season for possible nature walks and using the BBQ on the patio! Thank you, again!

    Daniel2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED this cottage! The fully skylight-lit visual splendor of this place was stunning and the personal touches throughout the space made it feel so warm and welcoming. This is an ideal space for a getaway, but close enough to downtown Galena to enjoy some tourist attractions. Trisha was very responsive during the booking process, but let us enjoy the quiet once we arrived. We can't emphasize enough how relaxing the atmosphere she created is. Can't wait to come back in the warmer months to explore the natural beauty of the area. Thank you Trisha and Mark (and sweet Siena)!

  • What a wonderful place to stay! Trisha and Mark are amazing hosts and we felt very welcomed at the cabin. It’s location is great for escaping for some relaxation while also being able to easily enjoy all that Galena has to offer. Would highly recommend staying here!

  • Trisha + Mark's cottage is the perfect remote place to unwind, while still being within reach of enjoying all of the local shops, history, and nature that Galena has to offer. The cottage itself was fantastic – we loved stepping into a piece of history. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with tea, milk, filtered water, olive oil + spices for cooking. There was also plenty of firewood and kindling to keep our winter stay cozy and comfortable. Trisha was extremely responsive and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the home was exceptionally clean. Roger was great to work with! We’ve already recommended to our friends and family in the Freeport area!

  • Roger’s Place on Willow Lake is amazing. This bright, open and spacious home was great for my husband and myself and then our family get together. A fully equipped kitchen, dining room table that seats 10+, and a bright spacious living room that looks out over the lake. That is not to mention the family room with the ping pong table in the lower level. Roger was quick to answer all of my questions and emailed instructions regarding the house the day before we arrived. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet neighborhood home to stay in...Roger’s place will meet your needs.

Enjoy this private 2-bedroom apartment in downtown Shullsburg. Great kitchen. Brand-new bathroom. Very quiet. Within walking distance of everything Shullsburg has to offer. Cable tv. Internet. Record player.
This is a completely furnished 2-bedroom apartment. The kitchen is completely stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, bowls, utensils, measuring cups, etc. Everything you would need to fix a Thansgiving feast (except the food) is there. The bathroom is brand new and was completed in October 2018. The renovation was a labor of love and it turned out beautifully. The apartment is the entire 2nd floor of the building. It is very quiet and private and has it's own enterance. The vet office downstairs is open weekdays from 8:00am-3:00pm. (Large animal vet... no animals visit there or are housed there).
Shullsburg is very small-town friendly. It is becoming quite a little tourist town and the local people are happy to see you, and feed you, and sell you some cheese, and pour you a beer.
  • We had a GREAT stay at David's place! play some soft was very clean and means. The rehab job that they did Saturday night by 10 they pretty much roll the sidewalks up and there was nothing but silence it was wonderful to this house made an excellent value and we would definitely stay again. The town of shullsburg itself is very quiet .Saturday night by 10 they pretty much roll the sidewalks up and there was nothing but silence it was wonderful!#

    Kris2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved David's place! There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. It would still be spacious with 4 people. The beds and pillows were comfy. The record player and albums were great. That was my teenage son's first time operating a record player, which he thought was really cool. David had great suggestions of places to go. We tried nearby "Gravity Hill" where you put your vehicle in neutral and your car (seemingly) rolls uphill. (Look up a video on YouTube). The local cheese store/creamery was fun, and you get to sample cheeses (adult beverages, too)! Shullsburg is a relatively close drive to Galena, IL as well. We hope to come back sometime!

  • My friend and I wanted a quick girls get away weekend, and Sue was the Perfect Hostess for this much needed trip. She was very accommodating with our time and schedule. She has lived in the area for a long time and was willing to provide suggestions or directions as needed. If you are a dog lover, her pack will be the perfect addition, when you have to spend time away from your own. The space is huge, the beds are big and comfortable, the views are just so Beautiful and relaxing and Sue is so accommodating and everything you would want in a host. I highly recommend a stay here.

  • Sue’s place is beautiful and sparkling clean. Her dogs are funny and very friendly. Sue provided directions and was very responsive.

    Maria Elvira2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sues home is very inviting. She does have 3 very large dogs but they are “sweeties”. The king sized beds are very comfortable and everything you could want was provided. Sue was informative about places to eat and things to do. Her home sits in a beautiful, quiet location. We hope to stay again the next time we visitGalena.

    Karen2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was very warm and welcoming the entire trip and made sure we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Her three dogs were very friendly and are an added bonus for any dog lover. The area is beautiful and traveling through the winding roads to Sue’s or the Owner’s Club for a swim or the rec room was always enjoyable.

You’ll love my place because I love making you feel comfortable and at home. Although I have one spare bedroom, I also have a couch, air mattresses and space. Extra toilet and laundry in the basement. Babies welcome if you have a Play N Pack. Smoking ok outside. My place is good for couples, families, solo adventurers, and business travelers. My son's dog is visiting Summer 2018. While he is a safe fellow, if you are allergic to, or fearful of, dogs, this may not be your place this summer.
A single-family 3- bdm ranch house with 1 dedicated guest room. I live alone, but am open to interns needing a longer term.

The house was nice and cool when we arrived (which was great with the hot summer weekend weather!) and she provided a great breakfast before our race. Thanks for the delightful stay and conversations!

  • Nice little spot if you’re looking for a quick night. Monroe is a cute little Swiss town with lots to do and see, and Pat is incredibly hospitable. Just be prepared for some clutter and a shared bathroom!

  • Pat was a very kind and gracious hostess. I really enjoyed chatting with her and learning about her background. She also recommended lots of cool places in Monroe and gave me a useful map for the rest of my journey when I departed. I'd recommend Pat's home as a base for anyone staying in the Monroe area.

  • Quiet neighborhood. Scenic views. Clean. Close to town and the State Park. A perfect relaxing weekend getaway.

  • It was a cute little cabin on a hill. About 2 blocks away from the river - you can somewhat see the water from the porch. The location is private. Savanna is a small town with it's biggest highlight being the Mississippi Palisades State Park. We spoke with the locals and they are very nice. The town itself has a lot of history and we really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood checking out the architecture of the houses. We also went to Galina which is a MUST! The cabin itself has everything you need and really has that cozy cabin feel to it. It was very clean and Jim was thoughtful with what he placed inside the cabin. Overall great experience!

    Maggie2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was stress-free and cozy. The deck was a nice added bonus to be able to enjoy our leisurely morning looking out at nature. We had no issues with any part of this home and it was an easy 40-minute drive to Galena which provided beautiful views of the Mississippi along the way. 10/10 would rent here again!

We have a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom place! We open our home in hopes of meeting travelers! You will have a clean place to sleep, access to laundry, and private bathrooms. Kitchen and living rooms are shared, and please make yourself at home! We are located 30 minutes from Galena and Plattevile, 40 minutes from Dubuque, and 25 minutes from Apple River Canyon.
Our home is the perfect place to stay if you're passing through. We've had many road trippers. It's also a cheaper option if you're visiting Galena or Apple River Canyon and don't mind the 30 minute drive. We love hosting Airbnb because we like meeting new people!
Shullsburg is very small (population about 1200) and has a cute downtown. The town is surrounded by farmland... You won't find a McDonald's or Walmart here! Check out Gravity Hill on your way to Galena, which is only 30 minutes away!

  • Staying at Jocelyn’s place was fantastic. Everything was clean and cozy — a very pleasant experience.

    Mike2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Jocelyn for our anniversary weekend trip. We were looking for lodging that was quaint, unique, and not Galena prices, though we intended to spend our time in Galena. When we checked in we were greeted so warmly by Jocelyn's husband, and really made to feel welcome! In our room, they had placed a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a personalized, handwritten note congratulating us on our anniversary, and had a bottle of wine chilling for us. It was incredibly thoughtful, and a very touching gesture. Our room was cute and served our needs well for our time there. We will stay again if and when we are back in Galena!

Thank you to both of you for opening your home to us and being so hospitable! We will be back! Lori and Scott

    Lionel2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Three friends and I decided we wanted to go skiing for New Year’s Eve and New Years. This place is only about 25 minutes from chestnut mountain and is a great deal. Beautiful bathroom and lots of room in the living room to hangout and play games. We brought some games with us, but this place also had some really fun games already there. James was always quick to respond when we had questions. Perfect place to stay for me and my friends.

    Bryan2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean place. Our check -in process was smooth. Kitchen had everything we needed to make food. Overall we had a great stay!

    Karolina2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this space! It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and the kitchen was wonderful – I loved the high counter space with plenty of room to spread out. Even more, I loved the bathroom - it looked like all new things ( shower stall, toilet and sink), and they had some really cool bath towels! The house was just a generic old house on the outside, with a cool wood railing at the entrance, but inside was very nice. It was a great mixture of "really old house" and very "modern" things. The kitchen had everything you would need, minus the oven, and the bedrooms were a good size. Everything was very clean! For some reason, the Internet went out on us after a few hours, but James was very fast to respond and we took care of it within 15 minutes. Just remember, this is on the second floor of an old house, and the staircase up was narrow and twisty. No problem for me, but just keep that in mind when considering this place. Overall, I was extremely happy with my stay!

    Leslie2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Blu Canopy exceeded my expectations! I was continuously and pleasantly surprised by the level of thoughtfulness with amenities in every room! James goes above and beyond to make sure guests have a comfortable stay and want for nothing. The bathroom design was wonderful! Very comfortable beds and bedding as well. This was my first air bnb experience, and I never want to stay in a hotel again. So nice to have the space and homeyness of an entire apartment in a real neighborhood, with a lovely fenced-in backyard with patio and firepit. James was willing to allow early check-in to drop off my friend's dog, which we didn't end up bringing, but his flexibility was really appreciated. James is the best! I highly recommend Blu Canopy- great value!

  • Great place to unwind and relax. Loved the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub in our room. We were pleasantly surprised by how much kitchen equipment is in the space and were even able to make a quick meal for ourselves. The front desk hosts are impeccable and helped us at every turn. Quiet and comfortable, we had a much needed and relaxing little break from the world.

  • A bit far from Galena but overall nice for the money

    Hanna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins are great. Charming inside and out, well outfitted and comfortable in a good location. Waking down from the cabins to the Mississippi River in the morning is a very pleasant way to start the day, and watching the sun set over the river, also pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and weren’t bothered by the sounds of the trains that others have mentioned. It was part of the experience and didn’t continue overnight.

    Dennis2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience was much better than we expected. Really easy to get there and the cabins are so cozy and adorable. We felt at home away from home. Will definitely be coming back

    Paloma2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabins and nice hosts! Clean bathroom and kitchen with utensils etc.

    Geoff And Sarha2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly hosts. We really enjoyed our stay. This was exactly what we were looking for; a cabin, yet comfortable enough to accommodate a family with 2 little boys in cold weather. The heat worked very well on a very cold October night. The cabins are very close to Mississippi Palisades and only about 35 min south of Galena. The cabins were very clean the loft was very comfortable. The direct tv was an added bonus. The kitchenette area includes a stove and refrigerator. They also have bbq grills and Fire pits. Did I mention dog friendly? I really hope we make it back here again next year.

    Daniel2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great location. Matt and Nancy are great hosts. The train noises aren’t as bad. Matt has great advise for places to eat and other ideas of things that go on in the area. Quality place. Nice, clean and safe.
