  • Tammy has the best customer service. She was out of town at the time that I stayed with her but checked in regularly. Beautiful Country setting in a beautiful little village.

  • It’s a great little get away spot. It was awesome seeing the 8 deer and eagles in the back yard. The horses were very friendly to my dog. Overall, I would recommend this Airbnb if you looking for a quite, peaceful and pleasant getaway. The host is very responsive. Thank again!

    Jessica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at Tammy's place several times and are never disappointed.

  • This is a big two-story "ranch" style house with a wide front porch and a saddle just inside the front door. It is nestled in a quiet little valley in the bluffs just 10 minutes west of Winona. Tammy uses no scented detergent in her linens, so it is perfect for those of us who are chemically sensitive. Tammy is attentive in a very low-key way, kindly offering tea and privacy. Best to visit the horses when they are hungry for treats, rather than right after their breakfast!

  • It was my wife and I's first experience here on Airbnb. We can't tell you enough how amazing it was for us to be spending a week at Tammy's place! We needed a place to crash before our lease at our new apartment started. She was such an amazing host! Her hospitality was beyond amazing! She have the cutest cat on the planet, Goulash, who spent a night or two in our room (which we let him because he is so adorable!). Tammy also have 2 horses, Charlie and Sugar. She let us help her move them and it was an amazing experience! Also, Tammy made some custard and she let us have some and it was delicious! Overall, Tammy is a sweet lady! We can tell because of how caring she was to everyone in her house. She was such a good role model for us, too! We will miss this place!

    Hunter2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic getaway with country charm. Tammy communicated quickly and prepared such a welcome within her beautiful home. Be sure to say hello to Sugar, Charlie and Goulash. We'd definitely stay there again!

    Chris2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a calm and relaxing stay, as well as the beautiful scenery on the property. Tammy was very welcoming and made sure we had all of our questions answered before we arrived. Per her suggestion, we hiked SugarLoaf Trail in Winona. It was perfect this time of year!

    Kelsey2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We have enjoyed staying with Tammy for 3 years now.

Hayley and Scott have thought of everything, all the little things that show they care, and that make a place special. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief visit and would certainly stay again - highly recommended. Thank you both!

    Ml2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing and Hayley and Scott were super responsive. Lots of cute little touches. We haven't stayed at a lot of Airbnbs but this was by far the best we've been too.

Haley and Scott were easy to reach when we had a problem with the door code, and they responded promptly. We highly recommend staying at this apartment. We would definitely return in the future. • Heidi and Patrick created the perfect space for a quiet getaway. They thought of everything and we loved the games around the cabin. We stayed for a little winter retreat, the loft was cozy and the views were beautiful. Don't think about this twice, it's the perfect spot for a quiet retreat.

    Abbey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Absolutely beautiful place, hosts are kind and very hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Toshie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi's place is in a beautiful location! On the top of a river valley. Please take the time to drive on the country roads around her place - they're beautiful little canyons. In the winter, you need to use an ATV to get there and the heating is not perfect, but it's decorated very quaintly and is plenty warm in the loft for sleeping.

Private room available in a dorm-style setting. Fully furnished for 1 with access to shared bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry. Includes twin bed. Free TV & Wi-Fi. Conveniently located next to Winona State Univ & a short walk to downtown & the Mississippi River!
  • Exactly as described, great value!

    Matt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as described. The location was great, the room was clean, and I felt very safe as a middle-aged woman traveling alone. It's dorm-style living but had everything I needed. Perfect place for the traveler on a budget, which I am so grateful for. I would definitely stay again.

    Tina2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Scott is very responsive and makes sure you have everything you need and that you are comfortable. The space is clean and quiet.

    Danielle2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • I am a solo woman in my seventies who is a forever a "budget traveler". I have no physical restrictions (yet!) that prevent me from going and up and down a flight or two of steps. MY ASSESSMENT I think Scott's dorm room option is a TREASURE in the Winona area. The security is great for a solo woman traveler like myself. How many budget rooms offer an array of small amenities not expected in a typical low-cost option? I will not enumerate all the small amenities because rooms DO vary. My recommendation: read the description for the standardized amenities. In general, I found much, much more than I expected. All added to my comfort. WHAT I LEARNED: if there is NOT something you need, and it can be provided, please DO NOT hesitate to ask the resident assistant Paul. Two examples: I needed more hangars and blankets (I sleep "cold") than were provided. Resident assistant Paul emphasized I should NOT have hesitated to ask for more of each. STAYING HERE AGAIN: I will stay at Scott's place every chance I get because it is a viable budget option when I want to overnight in Winona. The location and price can not be improved upon. Also, now that I have met resident assistant Paul (he was not here five years ago when I first stayed here), I can honestly say, Paul is another treasure (besides price and location) who you will meet and interact with - when you book here. Great place, Scott (president of the company that owns this property)!

  • This isn't a high end room - but a nice, affordable room, immediately across from Winona State University. The room did not have a private bathroom, but it was two doors down the hall to the men's room and showers. The bed was comfortable - I slept well. I didn't hear any noises!!

A roomy, but cozy upstairs loft with den, kitchen, bedroom with new queen bed, and full bath. Guest wifi and television with cable included. Shared entrance with homeowner but completely private space with locked door at top of main stairs.
The most common description guests have of our loft is clean, comfortable, and cozy. It could be called "modern rustic." The den and sleeping area is an open design, with a 3/4 wall separating them. The kitchen and bathroom both have doors for privacy--if you are an early riser, go into the kitchen, close the door, and make your coffee and enjoy the view out the kitchen window overlooking the nearby bluffs!
We are in a quiet neighborhood on the west end of Winona, a mile and a half from downtown. It's a convenient location, midway between the Winona State University and St. Mary's University campuses. We're also a few blocks from WSU's west campus, Cotter High School, the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts, and the entrance to the walking\bike path around Lake Winona. A comfortable, clean, affordable place to call your own while visiting Winona!
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Brian and Betty's place! They went above and beyond to provide thoughtful touches that made the stay exceptional. Would definitely recommend.

  • Brian & Betty’s loft was the perfect place to stay in Winona! The space was clean, inviting, and homey; not to mention the chocolates, coffee, Popcorn, and good movie selections!! Brian and Betty also provided us with a schedule of Winona’s weekend events! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Brian and Bettys. It’s clean, cozy, and relaxing. They left us a little print out of what’s going on in the area that day. Such a cute little place.

    Kristin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Brian and Betty were there to greet us and answer all our questions. Everything in the space was clean and well-kept. It was perfect for our needs, plus very quiet, safe, and comfortable. Highly recommended and would stay there again.

    Jean2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I was just in town for a few night! Definitely way better than a hotel. For one person this is more than enough even with two people this was great. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and even a drying mat for the dishes! Brian and Betty make this place extra special with all the little added details to events in town to a description sheet of all the things the loft offers ☺️. Also such a great help with directions during the winter time when Winona has alternate side parking!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Experience the beautiful Driftless region with a stay at the Winona Family YMCA's Camp Wenonah Yurt! Camp Wenonah is situated on 140 acres of bluffland located 7 miles outside of Winona. Renters have access to the 5 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Just a stones throw from world class rock and ice climbing, ice fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and so much more! The brand new stove heats the space perfectly for all-season camping. Rental comes with gas powered stove and kitchen kit.
The yurt includes a kitchen kit that has: a gas powered Coleman stove, a pot and pan, cooking utensils, bowls and silverware. Additionally, the yurt includes six cots. Renters will need to bring additional bedding (sleeping bag, blankets, pillows, etc.). The yurt does not come with electricity, however the wood fire stove heats the space perfectly and solar powdered lights help add additional lighting in the yurt for late at night. PLEASE NOTE that you must be capable of lighting a fire in order to properly use the stove. It's important to keep the stove lit when cold to keep the space warm, and regularly stoke the fire throughout the night. If you're not 100% comfortable with making fires, please state so in your message so that we can coordinate a short orientation to the space upon your arrival.
The neighborhood is incredible quiet and serene. While at the YMCA's camp property, you'll have complete access to the outdoor space without interruption from others. Enjoy the great outdoors and the sense of remoteness only seven short miles from the heart of Winona!
  • Host was great, cool experience sleeping in a yurt

    Paul2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lot of fun winter camping at the yurt! Once we got the stove going it was warm enough and we enjoyed playing games and walking and skiing around the property. It was a great way to get out of the city for weekend in nature! For anyone going in the winter, I would bring some warm clothes and warm sleeping bags because it can get chilly in the morning if you haven't kept up with the stove overnight! There's plenty of cookware in the yurt and some games too. The trails around the property are a lot of fun and we even got to do a little bit of cross country skiing around the place. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a winter adventure who's not quite ready for full winter camping!

    Audrey2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location and made for such a fun experience!

    Tricia2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed staying at the Yurt for a quick one night getaway from the city. The land that it's on is beautiful, quiet, and remote even though it's just a few minutes to Winona. The cast-iron stove keeps it nice and toasty and the cots are comfortable. We would definitely return.

  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying in this yurt! I enjoy camping and backpacking, but have not been able to convince my girlfriend to sleep in a tent (yet). This was the perfect mix of outdoors I love, with the creature comforts she needed. There is some hiking right from the yurt, as well fun antiquing in town and plenty more to do in the area. Highly recommend

    Kevin2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is perfect. It’s private and rustic yet minutes away from town. Loved it!!!

    kelly2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was great. It was warm and dry on a cold rainy night. We had so much fun

Looking for a getaway? Come to the Creekside cabin just outside city limits to test out "Tiny House Living"! All the amenities of home only smaller. This is a great place! Sit by the creek and listen to the water run or cozy up to the "Tiny" wood burning fireplace to get away from it all. Situated right on the Minnesota State Snowmobile trails. Trails also great for walking/4 wheeling/biking. Please note: you are not by yourself. We live on the property Pets not allowed.
You will have the entire cabin to yourself. The spiral staircase will take you to the 2nd floor and another staircase to reach the 3rd floor bedroom area. Low headroom on 3rd floor bedroom due to A frame style cabin.
we are minutes away from town, lakes to ride your bikes however, offer a country quiet setting. We do also have a large garage to the right of the cabin. We do have a renter that has lived in the upstairs of the garage.
  • Very cute place. Close to town.

  • An amazing cozy, comphy cabin that will create memories with your family and friends - I wish we could've stayed a bit longer!!!

    Lisa2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a cozy little place to call "home" for a few days! Everything was exactly as advertised. Tanya responded to texts within seconds and to needs within minutes. It was wonderful to come back from a day of great shoulder season hiking to a warm fire, a good book and some quiet rest. Plus, Bruno is a gentle giant who lived up to the hype!

    Prairie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was extremely clean and Sheryl was a great host. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Definitely a 5 star stay!

    Isaiah2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome little apartment to stay at. Location was great and it was decorated so nicely. I was also able to bring my dog. I loved it and would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

    Laura2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great get away! The wonderful host even brushed the snow off our car!

    Trae2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The upstairs apartment was perfectly comfortable for our family of three and our dog. The little extras they left for us made it feel more like home, and Mario, one of the owners, was very friendly. The sloped kitchen ceiling had me worried for my tall husband, but he fit nicely in the kitchen, and in all the other rooms the lofty ceilings made for a very nice space. I appreciate how easy checking in and out was! When we go back to Winona, we'll be booking with them again.

Our home/cabin is up along the bluffs allowing eagle eye views of the Mississippi River. A perfect quiet place to take everything in. There are three bedrooms intended for large families or group get-aways. Everything is at your fingertips from beaches, to hikes in the bluffs. It is 3 miles south of Winona. While you can see the river, there is easy access to public landing if you choose to bring a boat to partake in the various islands and water sports.
  • Great views from a cozy comfortable home.

This place is perfect for a short stay or a long day. Very comfortable and roomy. 400 Mbps WiFi, Roku with Netflix. Very comfortable place to stay. Certified Airbnb through Winona county which means meets or exceeds all standards for licensing. A inspector physically came through this apartment for certification. All Airbnb homes and apartments in Winona are supposed to have this.
This is a main floor unit. Inside, we tried to think of what would make you most comfortable. We put in a king size bed with comfortable bedding, the kitchen is set up with everything you need. What i love about this place is you are close to restaurants, shopping and walking trails which are all only literally minutes away.
This is a very quiet part of town located in a residential area but yet only minutes to almost everything.
  • Was a great personal guy! Did anything to make you feel comfortable!

  • Book this place! It was great. Check in was simple and easy. Any questions or comments we had were answered very quickly. The house was spotless. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood. I have nothing to complain about, and nothing else that I would expect! WiFi included, comfortable furniture, plenty of space for the 2 of us. Thanks again!

    Chelsey2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place was super clean and very convenient. I read the previous reviews so we knew it was an older home in a student housing area. All of our questions were answered promptly and the facilities were great. The shower had plenty of hot water which was a bonus for a nice long shower! The king bed was super comfortable. We will stay here again when we are in town.

BRAND NEW LISTING!! Two Bedroom Mid Century Modern HOUSE in the heart of Winona! Just blocks from Winona State University, the Winona lakes, biking, hiking, walking and the beautiful serenity that Winona offers! I am easily reachable by phone/text; however, I would like you to enjoy your stay without me bothering you!
I bought this adorable 1930's home in 2005. As a young child, I grew up next door and watched this home being skillfully moved on to it's current location in 1968 after Winona State University expanded it's campus into nearby neighborhoods! I was in awe of the process and instantly fell in love with this charming cottage! When the home became available (I am the 3rd owner!), I decided I wanted to own this precious home! Everything I have done in this home has been done with my heart. Most everything has been completed over the years; including most new windows and interior and exterior paint this last fall. I love the look of the mid century modern furnishings, so I decided to furnish this home in that direction. I was given guideance by one bedroom set that I inherited from my parents. With the exception of this one bedroom's furniture, all of the furniture is brand new; bought within the last 45 days. So please keep in mind, new furniture does have a little "stiffness" to it! After you pull up into the driveway (which will easily park 3-4 cars), you will enter through the side entrance of the home. You will have to go up 5 steps prior to entering the kitchen/main level of the home. Both bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining and bathroom are on one level. If you have the need to do laundry, please keep in mind the washer and dryer are located in the basement. You will have to go down approximately 17-20 steps to get into the basement and then back up them!!! The main level of the home is all hard surfaces: mostly hardwood flooring (with the exception of tile in the bathroom). There is a bathtub in this property...not a walk-in shower. So the bathroom is NOT handicap accessible. There are plenty of new, fluffy towels to use! The kitchen has been remodeled with mission-style maple cabinets and black appliances. The stove is electric. The kitchen is also fully stocked with pots/pans, coffee maker, toaster, cooking and eating utensils, mixing bowls, casserole dishes, plates, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, kitchen towels, etc. The brand new dining table seats four. There are additional items located in the built-in cabinet in the dining room; including placemats. The living room features all brand new furniture. The chair is a reclining chair. There are blankets to wrap up in in the drawer of the living room chest, and in both benches in the bedrooms. The house stays cozy warm in the cold months! The home has internet although no cable at this time. However, a Firestick is provided for your own Netflix, Hula, Disney, HBO, Amazon Prime, etc. accounts. Bedroom One features a queen-sized mattress and sleeps 2. Bedroom Two features a full-sized mattress and also sleeps two. The bedrooms are small but very quiet and comfortable. No more than four people are allowed renting the home due to Winona's strict rental laws!! The fireplace has NEVER BEEN USED since prior to me buying the property!!! So PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A FIRE!!!! It is not fire safe! I hope you enjoy staying in my wonderful Winona home. I just love this home with all my heart....and I hope you feel the same way during your stay here. All who have stayed with me say they feel so very comfortable in my home! This is a quiet neighborhood (did I mention I grew up next door? and know ALL of the neighbors??!!); so there is a NO LOUD NOISE/MUSIC after 11:00 PM. Please respect the neighbors!! Winona State University is four blocks to the east. NO SMOKING INSIDE THE HOME!! NO FIRES IN THE FIREPLACE!! NO LOUD NOISE/DISRUPTIONS/MUSIC AFTER 11:00 PM. Thank you!! And please enjoy your stay!
I grew up in this neighborhood; actually, right next door! This home is 4 1/2 blocks from Winona State, less then a half mile to restaurants and bars, and just a few blocks from the Winona lakes with access to running/biking path!
  • Everything was great. Newly renovated and clean. Quick response to questions.

    Michael2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to pull into for a Winona get-away!! This home is so clean, well cared for, well organized and well stocked. The location was just right to explore Winona’s special spots. Newly remodeled apartment set up for guests offers an urban flair. Enjoy the backyard seating area, friendly neighbors, and easy access to the city on this ground level space. Guests will be met at time of arrival and handed a key to the ground floor apartment. Off street parking is available. It's easy and simple!
Guests will enjoy snacks, fruit and soft drinks in the refrigerator. The apartment is well ventilated for fresh air from the trees bristling from the wind. Less than a mile from town, all things in the area is just a short drive.
Winona itself has many unique features. Bloedow's Donuts is just 3 blocks away, and Kwik Trip is 2 blocks away: both walking distance.

Experience country life in Southeastern Minnesota. We are located in the beautiful and secluded Wiscoy Valley which straddles the boundaries of Rushford and Winona, MN. Surrounding area includes small towns, rolling valleys, a sparkling creek, and a short drive to the Mississippi River. Located 53 miles from Rochester, MN, 12 from Winona, MN, and 30 from LaCrosse, WI. https://youtu.be/XcBJONwlWZs
This location is ideal for nature enthusiasts and anyone looking to disconnect from technology for a bit. A quiet place for families visiting nearby colleges, healthcare centers, or those just enjoying the area. There is very poor cellphone reception, internet or TV available at the house. There is a landline. It is the perfect reprieve from the hustle & bustle of the world. This house was designed for nature lovers, it is set into a hill with gorgeous views of the valley. The surrounding environment has abundant wildlife, especially during spring bird migrations. Some sightings include, but are not limited to: owls, herons, pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds, songbirds, and raptors. Wildflowers abound from early spring through fall frost. The house is fully winterized, and the valley has cool breezes to keep you comfortable in the warmer months. This house was built for individuals with chemical sensitivities and has wonderful indoor air quality. There was no plywood (which contains many chemicals) used in the construction of this house (with the exception of in the attic/roof). Every paint, caulk, adhesive, tape, finish, tile (bathroom), etc., was decided on by a natural consultant. The lumber is untreated and the paint does not include any volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The wallboard is magnesiacore which is not hospitable to bacteria, mold, mildew, etc., and is often used in hospital emergency rooms. The foundation (concrete) does not have any additives or drying agents. We do not use insecticides in and around this house.
Wiscoy Valley is a gorgeous snapshot of the Driftless Region. Encompassed by bluffs on all sides, the bluffs mirror the season-- full of life and green during the spring and summer, of vibrant orange, red, and yellow hues during the fall months, and of hoar-frosted, sparkling trees and hills during the winter. Surrounding towns and cities offer seasonal concerts, theatre festivals, museums (i.e. Marine Art Museum), and splendid eateries.
  • Beautiful space in a gorgeous valley

    Kate2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really appreciated the thoughts that went into this place. It was a perfect getaway for us!

    Micah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place was a great getaway to disconnect from all the stresses in life. Great way to unwind and read a book, play games and watch the wildlife around the cottage. Definitely recommend staying here. I know I'll be back again!

    Brenda2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • It’s way nicer than pictures show. It’s super cute, cozy, and clean. No WiFi that we could detect but that was actually quite nice. Be prepared for little or no cell phone reception depending on your carrier. It was so nice to be away from all that anyway!! Put down your phones! 😁 After you’ve booked this place, of course. There’s a lot of care and detail that has gone into the structure, cleanliness, and vibe of this house. It’s secluded and pretty private and just a really nice get away. Highly recommended, looking forward to another stay there in the future!

    John2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Exactly what we were looking for!

    Amber2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet gem nestled in a gorgeous valley. Staying here was so refreshing, from the tasteful and minimal furnishings to the quiet and peaceful setting. We made pancakes, played board games, and watched birds, deer, and the cows grazing across the road. The house was warm and cozy on this chilly weekend. The small tub/shower arrangement is tricky especially if you're tall, as another review mentioned. All in all, a lovely time. Would recommend for anyone needing a quiet escape.

    Haley2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house is beautiful hide-away that will relax and refresh you. It is spotlessly clean and a great place to spend a weekend to just unwind. Be prepared to be off the grid as there is no cell phone or internet connection available. If you want to get away, this is the place to get away to. We were delighted and will go back for sure.

Camper that sleeps 7-10 people! Gorgeous country setting, perfect getaway! Close to Winona
In the country yet close to town! 60 acres of property to walk and enjoy! Please remember we do run a dog boarding and daycare facility on site so sometimes you can hear them playing and talking!!!
We are 5 min from town so the country is beautiful and peaceful!
  • The camper was sparkling clean when we got there and Lisa was great. She explained everything we had questions about and she was more than willing to accept questions at any time. The property was beautiful and communication was great. Highly recommended

  • It is our first time of staying inside an RV, and my daughter was excited. Not as comfortable as living inside the hotel, but it is a great experience to sleep inside the RV. The shower has a issue when we used it on the first night, and Lisa did allow us to use the shower in her house. She is a very nice host, and very helpful.

    Yi2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Lisa’s place. It was so fun to have the camper experience without having to haul it around. This camper had lots of space with fine furnishings and all the supplies you need to cook your meals. Winona is a beautiful area and close to Perrot State Park. I loved the seclusion and beautiful country view from the camper. Lisa included special touches that made our stay even more enjoyable. We hope to return some day.

See below for our Corona Virus Update. Enjoy the quiet beauty of the countryside in your own separate wing of the Chateaux, featuring five spacious bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a large Great Room and a roomy, comfortable kitchen, plus fun amenities like a pool table, air hockey, game cabinet and a wide selection of DVDs and Disney VHS. In addition to the walking paths through our young orchard, enjoy the frolicking deer just outside, and the nearby state parks along the Mississippi River.
Corona Virus Update: We welcome folks who need to self-quarantine March 28th and after, as well as healthcare workers and their families. We have significantly dropped our rates to accommodate such groups, including an additional 50% off the reservation for stays of 14 days or more (if you don't see this automatically, submit an inquiry and we'll manually make it so). Our own family works in healthcare and has immune-compromised members, so it is our pleasure to assist if we can. Please reach out with an inquiry describing your situation so we can see how we can best assist you. The Chateaux is very rural, and a safe place to call your temporary home in this critical period. We can also provide assistance with food delivery to you if needed during a self-quarantine. We thoroughly clean and disinfect after each group, and leave a 72 hour window between groups to help assure your safety and that of our cleaning team. The guest wing is completely separate from the other 3 apartments sharing the Chateaux, with separate entrances, yard space and no shared indoor spaces at all. Onwards is our normal operations description: When was the last time you were able to relax and enjoy a countryside Chateaux? The classic Great Room features ample sofas and armchairs for chit-chat or watching television under the antique chandelier, or you can whip out a game or puzzle from the game cabinet. There's also a pool table, and an air hockey table, and inside the adjacent Library Room, over 500 books for you to explore. We're 10 minutes from the beautiful town of Fountain City, Wisconsin, and you could spend a perfect little holiday exploring local amenities. There's kayaking, two state parks, the ice cream shop, local restaurants and wineries, monolithic monuments, an auto museum, and of course, the best pizza in half the state, all within a quick twenty to thirty minute drive. Go ten minutes further, and you have all the amenities of Winona, Minnesota, including scenic train rides along the Mississippi. In addition to cookware and dining ware, we provide spices, cooking oils and basic flours and oils for the kitchen (and most importantly, coffee!). About twenty folks can dine comfortably at the kitchen's three tables, or bring a snack upstairs to enjoy the views from the Great Room or back patio. Please note that we're remodeling the lower-level kitchen, and everything but the floor is updated, which we plan to replace with shiny new flooring by Summer 2020. Please also note that there is minimal cell service within five miles of the Chateaux, so we happily provide a cordless phone on a shared line for your use, in addition to wireless satellite internet service. And if you're craving the latest broadcast game, we're just three miles from the nearest bar - best pizza ever!
The Chateaux is located in a beautiful private valley, nestled into the hillsides along the Mississippi River - a truly off-the-beaten path retreat! You'll surely catch sight of deer during your stay, and maybe the valley's elusive fox, too! In the springtime and summer, local parks and beaches are treasures to explore, and in the fall, there's fun to be had at the pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Ask us what's in season right now, from berry picking to skiing and sledding!
  • Five great bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Three new updated bathrooms. The open great place is perfect for groups to hangout and relax. Our large group enjoyed this place.

  • The space was very nice and roomy!!! The beds were comfortable as well. Be expected to drive a bit to the location but was worth it. It was nice to disconnect for a bit and enjoy the curves in and out of there.

Relax in a quiet family neighborhood surrounded by a unique garden and large backyard. The great room was designed for cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. Spill onto the front porch to enjoy the views of the bluffs and watch people stroll and bike past. Close to hiking and biking trails of Holzinger and St. Mary's, and just a 15 minute scenic bike ride to the center of town.
My husband is a fine furniture maker. Together we remodeled the space three years ago. Many of his pieces are in the home including the cottonwood dining table, a hanging cabinet, cabinets in the kitchen, a few sculptures and wall hangings. If you are in town from the end of June through July, check out the Art of Fine Furniture exhibit at the History Center, a show he curates featuring the work of many artist in the region. Referencing the saying a shoemaker has no shoes, our cabinets don't have doors or drawer faces. There is a cat that stays in this space when it is not rented.
In addition to access to recreation, this home is close to a few restaurants and grocery store.
  • Anne’s place was great for our family’s weekend stay! A comfortable home, very clean, easy to find and good location! Quick responses to inquiries, and knew we were traveling with our baby and had the portable crib already set up for us.

  • This was a great place for visiting our son in College. We love the open floor plan in the front part of the house with the large custom family table. While this trip we decided to go out due to school-related activities, it would be perfect to have a spaghetti dinner with family. We look forward to staying at Anne's place for future college visits and have recommended their place to others.

Available for overnight or daytime events, Goodview Haven has 11 single beds and one double bed in 5 bedrooms, plus space for up to 8 more on air beds and couches, and features a Great Room, large outdoor space and a complete technology setup and high speed internet. Rent it for your next business retreat or working getaway, or grab the girlfriends for a weekend spent scrapbooking or quilting. Our fully outfitted kitchen allows guests to make their own food or work with a caterer.
Your hosts at Goodview Haven are Erik and Jodi Brom. The Haven is Erik’s childhood home, first dreamed up by his parents, Leo and Dorothy, and sketched in sand on the beach. Erik and Jodi created their own dream of a second life for the home, which led to a comprehensive renovation project in 2016 to modernize the building, turn it into a retreat and build an addition to accommodate more guests—all while maintaining the unique Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired style of the home.
The neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial. There a cafe and bar in walking distance.
  • My family and I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at Goodview Haven. The house is perfect for entertaining and it's a great place to spend a weekend with family. There are lots of different spaces to move around and relax. We loved exploring the house, but most of our time was spent in the kitchen which is wonderfully spacious and fully stocked. The weather prohibited us from enjoying the huge back yard, but it was lovely to look at. This house is also wheelchair accessible, making the Holiday that much less stressful for my family.

    Anna2019-11-30T00:00:00Z

We knew there was something special about the Village House the first time we walked in. Even though it's been completely renovated, the charm and historic character of the home has been carefully retained. One of the most surprising features of the home is how large it feels once you're inside. There are plenty of cozy nooks as well as comfortable gathering spaces for conversation or games. Our guest especially appreciate that each bedroom has a full private bath so that no one has to share.

  • Roomy house in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of many Winona highlights. We loved the screen porch in the back - spending most of our time there.

    Adele2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Just as listed. Perfect for our stay in Elroy!

    Stacy2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I came up from Tennessee and this was the perfect place for everyone to gather. Multiple seating areas, such as the back sunroom that had a large dining room table, the kitchen table that I absolutely loved, the dining room table that we used for card games, and the front screened in porch that had a few chairs to sit and drink morning coffee and people watch on. It’s located a block from the big bridge so it was so easy to bike ride to coffee shops or walk to bars and restaurants near midtown. We happened to be there during Steamboat Days and got to walk down and see the fireworks! There is a large driveway area in the back where we easily parked 3 or 4 cars. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and other kitchen amenities. There is a his and hers sink and bathroom that worked perfectly for us as well. Carol was such a great host and answered all my questions quickly!

Prairie School design high above Mississippi River. Wooded hillside. The pinnacle of quality, privacy, beauty, convenience and luxury. Absolutely unique/unrivaled. Sleeps 4-9. Privacy inside and outside if desired. 5 min. to Winona or Fountain City.
3-4 BR, 3 BA on two levels. 4-acre wooded hillside, 5 min. from downtown Winona, in Wisconsin. Nestled into 4 acres of hardwood and birch hillside high above the "Great River Road" (St. Rd. 35), this luxury home boasts an incredibly beautiful panoramic view of the Mississippi River and bluffs of Minnesota. Enjoy a striking view incomparable on either side of the Mississippi. There are no neighbors for at least a quarter of a mile, and no neighbors are visible from anywhere on the property. The first thing you'll notice is the lock and dam below you about 1 mile away. The interstate bridge and downtown Winona open themselves up to you a few miles further in the distance, while Sugarloaf Mountain on the east side of Winona, 5 miles in the distance, caps your view from the huge windows on every level. This is one of the most beautiful and unique houses you will ever see. A "Prairie School" design, the original construction began in the mid-1950s, finally completed by the current owner in 2006. The interior features additional custom cut and installed "Winona Stone," on all countertops throughout, including custom stone bookshelf. The stone was sourced from the same company used by the original owner in the 1950s. The kitchen sink is carved from one solid piece of limestone, all designed, custom cut and installed by the Biesanz Stone Co., complementing the open concept kitchen. The master bedroom features a private “en-suite” bathroom with a walk-in closet. There is a large concrete deck leading out from the first floor with a gas grill for guests to use. There is also a deck off the main floor dining room, and off the master bedroom. There are panoramic views of the Mississippi River from most rooms and exterior decks.
Fountain City, WI is 2.5 miles to the northwest and Winona, MN is 5 miles southeast of the property, and across the interstate bridge. Both cities offer a number of restaurants/bars, activities, and events throughout the year. Winona offers grocery stores, pharmacies, and access to other necessities. Fountain City is a quaint city of approximately 900 people. It is full of historic buildings, colorful shops, restaurants-- even a wine tasting room. Complimentary Visitor’s Guides for both Winona and Fountain City are available at the house when available to us. These guides offer lots of great options and activities. Winona, Minnesota is the home of the main campus of Winona state University. The population of Winona is approximately 25,000, but 10,000 of those are students, many of whom are not in the area during the summertime. This area of southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin is a sportsman’s paradise with amazing educational and cultural opportunities. Located in the area are the following: Winona hosts a Shakespeare Festival, a Beethoven Festival, Frozen River Film Festival, and Midwest Music Festival, just to name a few. Enjoy Steamboat Days, an Ironman Triathlon, and boat races on the lakes. You name it, the area is full of fun and exciting things to do for guests of all ages and interests. Two Wisconsin State Parks with myriad opportunities for hiking, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, just being in nature, and so much more. These parks offer some of the best and most beautiful scenery in the area. Merrick State Park: 5.5 miles to the northwest Perrot State Park: 15.5 miles to the southeast Besides the public boat landings in the state parks, there is a public access boat landing 2.5 miles away in Fountain City. The property sits right below the famous “Indian Head Rock,” which is one of the most recognizable Mississippi River landmarks in Wisconsin. This landmark is most easily seen within a mile of your approach from the South. Latsch Island Beach is located just 4.5 miles away. Enjoy the public beach and picnic areas on those hot summer days. There are two local wineries in the area: 7 Hawks Vineyards, Fountain City: 2.5 miles to the northwest. Elmaro Vineyard, rural Trempealeau: 11 miles to the east. Caution: whenever exiting the driveway, look both ways especially to the north. The hill and the bend in the road keep oncoming vehicles out of sight up until just a few hundred yards from the driveway. It is also a popular place for vehicles to pass others and the driveway is out of sight for them.
  • Another great stay at this incredible place right on the Mississippi River! You cannot beat the view, never gets old waking up to coffee on the balcony and looking out over the river. Scott is an excellent host, very responsive and makes sure all your needs are met. The place is kept in great shape, everything was well cleaned. Two years in a row now we have picked this as our vacation place for the annual fall road trip my brothers and I take. Love the scenic drive coming up the river along 35. So many great hiking options along the river, Perrot State Park on the WI side, and Great River Bluffs State Park on the MN side. Lots of excellent restaurant options in La Crosse, this year we picked Le Chateau, which was just amazing (say hi to Eva if you go there)! Be sure to stop at The Historic Trempealeau Hotel and get your self a walnut burger. Highly recommend spending time in this area along the Mississippi, and in particular staying at Scott's place!

    Greg2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very unique and fun layout for the guest with open areas but also privacy. This was my second time staying here as the first stay was so nice and this time lived up to my expectations. The house is very clean and had the amenities needed for out of town guests to enjoy the whole house.

    Scott2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of space indoors and out. No neighbors which I found was the best part.

    Andy2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent views of the river and valley, and quite private. Very easy check-in process.

    Peter2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just excellent! Very elaborate design, plenty of space for everyone in our group. In late fall, with most of the leaves gone from the tree line, the view from the deck and kitchen table are just incredible. Was so nice waking up to that every morning, sipping coffee and enjoying the surroundings. Also making a fire in the custom fire pit at night, relaxing with a glass of wine. Not far from many fun things to do in Winona, La Crosse, and the surrounding area. Looking for a good hike? Check out Perrot State Park. Then stop at Trempealeau Hotel for lunch. Also found great hiking at Great River Bluffs State Park. You will not be disappointed with Scott's place! He's a great host, and the place it self is very nice.

  • Amazing deal on an amazing place

  • The house has a lot of room to spread out and was very clean. Just know that if you have the windows open in the summer, although the house is not close to the tracks the trains going by can be loud. The host is very accommodating and very responsive.

  • This is a super unique, beautiful home...more porches and decks and beautiful outside space than you can believe. Overall the home is in great shape - and it's a 5 minute drive into the small town of Fountain City or the bigger town of Winona. A great place for friends or a couple families to visit that beautiful part of WI/MN.

This beautiful apartment has been recently finished in the heart of downtown Winona MN! In order to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we have provided many amenities in this apartment. You will have access to a full kitchen with dishes, silverware, pots/pans, stainless steel appliances (full stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator). The living room has a full size couch, 55 in HD TV with Sling TV (45 cable channels- google Sling TV Orange + Blue for a full channel list), Apple TV can be used for Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime, etc) and fast free Wifi. The bathroom features a wall- to -ceiling tile shower with glass enclosure and a full size vanity. The bedroom has a nice queen size mattress, two walk-in closets, and a dresser. Finally, feel free to use the stacked laundry just off the kitchen. laundry detergent will be provided * This unit has two skylights which provide natural light into the apartment. They have remote control blinds that close to darken the space. NOTE: Due to the design of the building, these are the only windows in the apartment. ** This unit does not have access to a thermostat for temperature control. The heating/cooling system keeps the temp at a consistent 69-71 degrees at all times for multiple units. If guests would like the temperature adjusted, I can adjust it for them upon request. NOTE* : We want to disclose that there can be some light vibration noise inside the unit from time to time from above. The noise comes from a deck/walkway/entrance that is built on the roof above the unit. There are permanent tenants that live in the buildings second and third levels that use this to enter/exit the building. We have done our best to minimize this noise but a certain amount of light noise is unavoidable.
This unit is located on the main level of an historic brick building in downtown Winona MN. Access to the apartment is located in the back of the building next to a city of Winona public parking lot.

  • Clean, neat and tasteful. Great communications and awesome value.

  • This cozy and close to it all space will exceed your expectations. Accessing the building and space itself is easy and the amenities alone blow any similarly priced hotel away. The space is warm (temperature-wise) with no controls, but there are two large overhead fans that create a nice breeze. The power sliding skylight covers, extremely nice towels, access to Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc, and full-sized washer and dryer are just some of the things that made this space feel special.
