Centrally located between all the fun places Taos has to offer: 20 min. to the Taos Ski Valley, 10 min. to the historic downtown, 40 min. to the famous hot springs at Ojo Caliente and just 2 minutes down the road the Taos Mesa Brewing with nightly live music. Great for evening star watching in the cozy glass- house from where you have spectacular views to the Taos Mountain range. Looking for a cool and cozy place to stay in New Mexico to see art, go shopping, go skiing or enjoy nature? Here is the perfect place for you. Built by an architect and an artist, this home is unique and offers a very Taos experience with a contemporary flair; adobe mud walls, lots of light, open floor plan with communicative kitchen, great outdoor spaces and breathtaking views to the famous Taos Mountain. Enjoy our large newly built glass house right outside the dining room with gorgeous views of sunset and the spectacular starry night skies. It is a fun place to hang out and there are two lounge chairs and a large dining table with BBQ grill outside. Enjoy our landscaped, walled- in garden and have a glass of wine sitting on the patio with the Japanese water fountain. The house has a master bedroom and a European style bathroom with separate toilet. You feel like you are immersed in nature yet you are just 10 minutes from town and centrally located to popular destinations like the Taos Ski Valley, quaint Arroyo Seco, the famous Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and the fabulous Ojo Caliente Spa and Mineral Springs. If you don't want to go far we suggest you visit Taos Mesa Brewing just 2 miles down the road and enjoy their hand crafted beers.
The house is located off of Hy64 on the north side of town, 2 miles west of the US64/Hwy 150 intersection. It is situated on a quiet dead-end dirt road for ultimate privacy. The house sits on an open sagebrush mesa with spectacular unobstructed view of the Taos Mountain. There are hundreds of walking, jogging and biking trails at your doorstep.
  • What you see is what you get, and MORE... but you'll have to experience it to believe it. Views that offer entirely new perspectives, charming touches/hidden gems throughout, and lovely hosts who are always available, yet only as present as you'd like them to be. Thank you for everything Jo and Agnes!! We can't wait to return. *Note to future guests: the fully equipped kitchen includes a small collection of craft coffee machines, but be sure BYOB (Bring Your Own Beans), or you're in for a rude awakening, literally!*

  • This home and the surrounding views are stunning! It was perfectly located, with an easy drive to ski resorts and other attractions. It was especially warm and cozy for the winter, but I imagine this place is amazing year round. Agnes and Joaquin are also incredibly kind and provide tons of helpful local tips. Highly recommend!!

    Leah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Could not imagine a better place to stay for our trip. It was close to the ski resort without being on the mountain, and even closer to the town. Joaquin and Agnes were great hosts; we will be staying here again next time!

    Bryson2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent property, lovely hosts, fantastic all the way around. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Lisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect beauty peace and incredible views of the sunrise and sunset through every window and the glass house is truly remarkable!!! Perfect!! We will be back

    Nadia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Star-filled night skies, a warm and sunny patio on a cold winter day, beautiful artwork, and a lovely bubble bath after a day of skiing. This place is everything it seems to be and more! Also highly recommend reading their Guide Book for first-timers to Taos - the restaurants and art galleries were all top notch. Will come back!!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Simply Stunning. This was one of the best AirBnB experiences we have had, and we have had a lot of amazing experiences. This home is incredible. The views do not quit. Every corner is thoughtfully curated. Unfortunately during our stay my husband got some bad altitude sickness and Joaquin and Agnes were absolute life savers. Quite literally. I am so deeply grateful for their king and thoughtful care. What to expect if you stay here: Jaw dropping views that become more magnificent every hour. Privacy and comfort in a very special home. An experience that will stay with you for many years to come. Hosts that are communicative , kind, and attentive when needed.

    Rebecca2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • In a word, magical. We had a very relaxing 4-night stay. It was a very peaceful environment, amazing views of nature and a comfortable living situation. We used the kitchen extensively as well as the sun room (which was quite warm even in the middle of winter). Joaquin was very friendly and showed us around the property. We would definitely stay here again. It has a remote feel but you're only a 10 minute drive into the heart of Taos.

Gorgeous mountain views and all of the comforts of home greet you in this beautiful 1954 Silver Dome travel trailer located just minutes from town and the area's outdoor and culinary attractions. Enjoy a full bedroom, bathroom (with new plumbing finally!), kitchen and living room with a mid-century aesthetic and inviting fenced yard.
Bright sunshine streams through the many windows of this rare mid century coach and provide stunning views of the mountains in nearly every direction. Sunrise, sunset and the starry nights are unencumbered by city lights, and you can enjoy the show from the coziness of the trailer or from the huge fenced yard. The trailer itself boasts many amazing original features, along with updated plumbing and electrical systems, a stove, microwave and refrigerator and a darling turquoise bathroom with a tub and shower. The bedroom features a full sized bed with a brand new mattress, lots of cozy linens, a built-in vanity, and of course those gorgeous windows to the stars. The sofa in the living rooms pulls out into another full sized bed if you need additional sleeping space. Heat is provided by two radiant heaters and the original crank windows can be opened to let in the fresh mountain air. All outlets work and wireless internet is available 24/7. Step out the door and enjoy a deck and fire pit in a large, fully fenced yard shared with my own home (a pristine 1957 Spartan Imperial Villa mobile home). This is a great place to spend a night or two in the tranquility of the mountain, under the New Mexico stars. We are all about respecting the space and our neighbors on the hill by keeping the noise down and limiting access only to those on the reservation. You'll find this makes for a wonderful evening for all! Whether you've been trailer park dreamin' and want to try the vintage trailer life on for size or are just looking for a unique, comfy home away from home in Taos, you've found it!
The trailer is located off Lower Los Colonias Road in El Prado, just 5 miles from the intersection with Highway 64. From that intersection (known by locals as the blinking light), it's just a few minutes to the Taos Mesa Brewery and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge to the west and a few minutes to historic Arroyo Seco and the Taos Ski Valley the other direction. The Taos plaza with its abundance of art, culture and culinary delights is just 12 minutes away, and there are plenty of shopping and eating opportunities in between.
  • What a delightful stay we had in the 1954 Silver Dome Travel Trailer! Amy’s warm hospitality, artful touches around the trailer and cozy climes made for a joyous stay. We can’t wait to return and awake to the sweet snorts of Queen Maxine :)

    Camille2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place! Amy has it decorated very chic and it truly is a vintage trailer. The yard has plenty of deck space and fire pits for hanging out. My stop was quick since we had to get on the road the next day, so it would be great to come back with a group and even utilize both trailers on the property. For the night, it was comfy, cozy and warm! Thanks, Amy!

    Jenna2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This boho trailer is brilliant and cozy! Amy left plenty of notes and local recommendations. The bed was comfortable. The outdoor fireplace is the perfect gem along with adorable and cozy chairs. Will be coming back!

    Trisha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • 100% plan on booking this spot again next year. Such a stellar place to stay.

    Amanda-Jo2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s trailer was everything we expected and more!! It had everything we needed for our one night stay, plus tons of wonderful tips and recommendations for the area. The view was spectacular. The decor was warm and welcoming with every detail considered. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Taos.

    Christina2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy, and this trailer, were the absolute BEST. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to experience Taos with the help of Amy. We were there mainly for skiing, but ended up spending a decent amount of time in the town! Only about 30 minutes from Taos Ski Valley, and 15 or so from town - it was in a lovely location. And her furry friends are wonderful! Between the 5 dogs and her piggy, Maxine, you will have loads of cuddles. 10/10 recommend, we’ll absolutely be back - hopefully soon!

    Tyler2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • There are a few trailers in a group that make it feel like you're not completely alone, but its separate enough from the town that it feels very beautiful and remote. The trailer is very comfortable, check-in was easy. Make sure you say hi to Maxine the pig.

    Brianna2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This yellow trailer is a little slice of heaven, away from it all...but not too far from anything. Amy is a wonderful host and she was so kind to my dog! The bed is comfortable and all the little details are taken care of and explained. I even made dinner in the trailer one night, as there were basic kitchen supplies. Be prepared for an adventure and a lot of fun.

Brand new studio Earthship as seen on Off Grid Build! Just search for "Off The Grid Build" to find it. Experience Off Grid living with all the modern amenities in the beautiful high desert mesa just outside Taos, NM.
I recently finished building this house myself over the past 3 years. It is 99% complete. There are a few finishing touches that are not done but the house is 100% comfortable and 100% livable. This house is called an Earthship, a totally off grid house that catches its own rain water, generates its own electricity and stays at a steady 72 degrees all year round without the use of any fuel or electricity what-so-ever! Don't let the term "Off Grid" fool you, this house has all the modern amenities. WiFi, Netflix with a flat screen tv and Bluray player, large refrigerator, large oven/range with a powerful exhaust hood, large bathroom with a luxuriously deep tub and stone all around. There is even a high efficiency washing machine in case you need to do laundry. The sun heats the house passively, but don't worry, you can still sleep in after a late light with black out shades that let you control when the sun illuminates this beautiful space.
The neighborhood is very quiet. My favorite thing to do is take the dog for a walk at sunset.
  • This place is amazing I would recommend to everyone reading this to check it out. You will love it!

    DaLana2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space, great location, beautiful views. I needed a place to recharge my batteries, and this was just what I needed! The silence was extraordinary, too.

    Lindsay2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • SO GREAT! If you’re looking for a remote getaway in a unique setting - this is for you. Super straightforward and while also remarkable ! Pretty close to historic Taos and super easy to find. We had zero problems.

    Nina2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Overall: I didn’t spend tons of time inside but the first & lasting impression was exactly the same as when I saw the listing and after viewing the YouTube video. If you’re looking to experience “off-the-grid” this spot was perfect. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Cleanliness: I greatly appreciated the cleanliness of the Earthship. Many other unique Airbnbs that allow animals do a horrible job keeping their property clean for all guests, the group kept the Earthship very clean and no animal hair was on the bed or places that I could see. For someone that is unfortunately allergic to animal hair, the cleanliness of the property was my biggest concern going in. Temperature: One thing I was expecting was feeling warm, inside the greenhouse once you open the main door. It was around 40° outside and inside it was very warm I’d say 75°. It felt very nice. Bathroom: As long as you watch the video provided nothing should surprise you. The smell described in the video coming from the toilet isn’t a gross smell. I thought it might smell like fertilizer but it just smelt like some dirt. I wish there was a different shower head with hotter water but that’s jut nitpicking. The water pressure overall was a surprise since being in an Earthship I thought it wouldn’t be that great but it was way better than many hotels. Local Tips: Nothing for this Airbnb but I thought I’d let reviewers know since I assume many will try to travel there, but if you plan to travel to Manby Hot Springs you must have a 4WD vehicle. I used Waze & had a Dodge Ram 4x4 in Feb and it would have been impossible to get there otherwise if you use Waze & a 2WD. Also make sure you have hiking boots in case there is mud and snow/ice since with those conditions, the hike isn’t “easy” as some blogs say. You’re on the side of a cliff the entire time.

    Scott2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • So unique, and has the perfect morning silence we dream of outside Taos. Clean and has everything you need.

  • Great place to spend the weekend!

    Caleb2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was another great earthship stay in the books! This one is wonderful in the winter because it stays super warm! Very functional space compared to some other quirkier earthships; really gives a dose of sustainable living to the population less willing to live in a really weird space because it is so normal!

    Amanda2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing private cozy stillness in a beautiful desert setting. Make sure to read the earth ship books in the little library.

Ideal location!! Newly renovated studio apartment just 15 minutes to Taos Ski Valley and 10 minutes to downtown Taos. Loads of entertainment, restaurants, and shops close by in Arroyo Seco, on the way to Taos, and in downtown Taos. Close to Angel Fire and Red River. We allow pets!
Great romantic getaway for couples! An excellent place for people wanting solitude. Also excellent for people who want a quiet setting with lots of entertainment options close by. Unit includes: Essential amenities, wifi, self check-in, laptop work space, iron, hangers, hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner, and body wash.
We are out in the country and as such, enjoy incredible mountain views. We have 3 empty acres on either side of us so the space outside feels very spacious. The adorable little town of Arroyo Seco is just 5 minutes down the road.
  • We enjoyed our stay very much. It was such a great value, for such a clean and comfortable space. The views were spectacular!

  • We were more than happy with our stay at Robin’s. We accidentally ran into her husband the first night, and he was kind enough to give us some great local places to eat. The studio was perfect and clean, and we enjoyed being able to cook our own meals as well. Perfect location between ski valley and the city of Taos!

    Taylor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • You will love Robin's place when you stay. Quaint, quiet and a perfect space.

    Jonathan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was perfect for my wife and me, for a ski week in Taos. Had everything we needed to stay in and relax and cook our own food. It was also close enough to Taos to run in for a dinner at a local restaurant. Only 20 minutes to the ski valley made for some great skiing. Great views as well! Thanks

Here is your chance to experience Tiny Living. We welcome you at this beautiful home-base ideal for skiing, hiking, fishing, painting and enjoying Taos' beauty. This space was a labor of love from a very close friend and we are so exited to share this little bit of paradise with you. Visiting our B&B will also allow you to travel to France - off sorts, as Jah - our permanent French cook, offers as an option to try real homemade Croissants, Jams and Beverages for a relaxed at home breakfast!
Taos has a magical quality. Its rugged beauty, majestic mountains, wild Rio Grande river and unique blend of cultures. There's no rat race here; a fair share of non-mainstreamers have made this laid-back, low-key mecca their home and so did we when we decided to make it our part time home. We bought this beautiful Tiny home from a very talented local artist who built and designed this home himself, using new and recycled eco-friendly materials. The natural materials make this tiny house cozy and warm. With 10 ft ceilings and many windows the space is surprisingly spacious. The Kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans to prepare meals and towels are provided too.
  • A super cute place with helpful hosts!

    Shannon2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

  • From Justin, my boyfriend. 'We both liked the space. I'm 6'3 and the space was very comfortable for my girlfriend and I.' I really wanted to check out a tiny home and this satisfied me! Wonderfully designed! -Annette

Private, cozy, and wonderfully quiet, our Kiva is an inspiring place for meditation and contemplative retreat. The natural Adobe walls and floor, high ceiling, and big windows with plenty of light contribute to the grounding, yet open feel of the space. Close proximity to 2 undeveloped hot-springs, the Rio Grande River National Monument, and lots of great hiking. Just 5 miles from New Mexico's premier Brewery and Live Music venue. 15 Miles to Downtown Taos; 22 Miles to Taos Ski Valley
The Kiva is a single room structure, nestled into its own private hillside. A small round room with a big sunny view. Local clay for the Adobe floors and walls, raw timber from the Taos mountains for the high, airy ceiling. A stay in this hand-made home is truly a unique experience. The Kiva is a short hike to scenic natural hot springs on the edge of the Rio Grande river. The springs are free and open to the public, as such, you may encounter other folks there. Conduct your self with respect for any others and regard for your safety. Great for individuals or couples seeking a grounding space to get away from it all. The Kiva has an electric heater for cold weather. The fireplace is not for guest use, and fires in the fireplace (or outdoors) are not permitted. We are in drought conditions and do take wildfire seriously. This is a RUSTIC and MODEST space with no kitchen, and only minimalist bathroom amenities, please read onward for a full description. We have no running tap water at the Kiva, however several gallons of clean drinking/wash up water are provided in the room. This space is not set up for food prep or cooking (no running water!) However there are some basics like silverware, plates, bowls, and mugs that you can use for your convenience with prepared foods and takeout items. An electric water kettle for instant soup or a cup of tea is provided. The toilet is a clean and regularly maintained composting toilet, located about 100 feet from the dwelling, in a separate private structure. There are no shower or bath available on site. The undeveloped hot springs and also the Rio Grande river are about a mile hike away, and are great if you are craving a water experience. We provide bed linens, but please bring your own towel if you need one for the hot springs. We have hosted many satisfied guests with these admittedly modest amenities... If you need running water, flush toilets, and a shower in order to be happy, please look to stay elsewhere.
A private and quiet neighborhood. Neighbors occasional walk or run, and you can too, but quiet for the most part. Close proximity to 2 different Natural Hot Springs (one walking distance). Close access to Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument.
  • Gorgeous space! We loved touring Taos Pueblo and then staying in this amazing adobe structure surrounded by nature! Getting to the springs was an adventure, and we recommend not going at night!

    Jenny2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay the the Kiva house. Ray was a great host and provided some good recommendations for the hot springs nearby. Super cozy and quiet location. It felt like we were glamping a bit, all the bare necessities were provided. Bring a cooler with some food and drinks, a towel for the hot springs, and prepare to check out and recharge in a beautiful landscape for a scenic escape. Thanks Ray!

    Brett2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and view. Really out there in nature and nearly off-grid. Don't expect luxuries. And you'd better love getting woken up at 7:30 AM with the sun. Unique style living arrangements. I love how this house was hand built in the local tradition. Very cool experience. The wife was missing a lot of her city comforts. Very much Glamping. Would stay again. Good value option compared to the alternatives.

    Ted2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and cozy accommodations. The kiva is just as advertised. We were there on a chilly night and the room stayed warm and cozy. The nearby hot springs are well worth the hike.

    Christian2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and quiet. Fantastic experience.

    Dorthe2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our night in the Kiva very much. Perfectly serene night with millions of stars. Very magical place. We hiked to the hot springs in the morning and it was a fabulous way to start the day! Can’t beat the scenery! Ray was very quick with communication when I didn’t pay full attention to the directions he sent. We arrive at sundown and it is very dark out there. However, if we had followed his directions to the T we wouldn’t have had a problem. Many thanks!

    Brittany2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The kiva is a wonderful experience to get off the grid but still be very comfortable. Ray's directions to get there were easy to follow and the place was clean and beautiful, but of course it's the surrounding area that is the most special. When there, don't miss out on the hot springs nearby and the spectacular night sky!

    Mina2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a way to get close to the beauty of N. New Mexico, this is the place! The accommodations are simple (nothing to cook on and no running water) but super quiet and beautiful. The rammed earth floors were warm and soft and the space just feels good. We had the great good fortune to have the hot springs all to ourselves, and the hike down into the Rio Grande gorge was breathtaking! Ray was available by phone and super-accommodating. We’ll be back!

This sun-lit and charming casita is the perfect place to call home after skiing at Taos Ski Valley or hiking in the mountains (13 miles). Only 15 minutes to restaurants, art galleries and many cultural activities. Fits well a family of 4 or friendly adults. Its like a country vacation or retreat yet close to all the activities.
One large room houses the living/kitchen which has a couch, a rocking chair and coffee table. For dinning, there is a bonco with a table. The kitchen area of the room has a microwave, toaster oven, 2 burner hot plate, small refrigerator, dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans. Plus a 5 cup coffee maker and a few basics -- coffee, tea, salt, pepper, sugar, honey, oatmeal, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. No need to bring water! Water from the tap is provided by our well -- tested with a pH factor of 8.5 and is very tasty. The bedroom with a door has a queen bed with down pillows and comforter. Climb the ladder to the loft for 2 twin comfy futons. The bathroom is very small with a shower. The wi-fi is fiber optics. There are walking and viewing areas extending beyond the 5 acre property. Fall asleep to the song of the coyotes. After 2 adults, there is a $10 charge per night per person up to 4 people, 4 years old and up. Children 3 and below are free. Dogs love it here and are allowed if they are well behaved. We request that they don't get on the furniture or sleep in the bed. There is a $15 fee, payable directly to hosts. If this is agreeable, please let us know you are bringing a dog.
Being at the end of road, looking over pastures & surrounded by mountains, gives the feeling of being in the country. Yet the casita is only 15 minutes to the plaza, restaurants, or to the delightful town of Arroyo Seco. 30 minutes to Taos Ski Valley. We're close to Taos Mesa Brewing Mothership, the Mamby Hot Springs, the Gorge Bridge, and the Earthship Village.
  • We had a great stay at Donna and Bill’s. They are so kind and friendly. They gave us local dining and other local advice. The place was clean and had everything we needed and more for a family of 3.

    Jeanette2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cute casita was a great place to have some quiet time in an inspiring landscape. The night sky and sounds were magical. It was cozy for a solo retreat, with plenty of sunshine, and also some trails around the house that Donna graciously took time to point out. The bed was very comfortable and the space was thoughtfully prepared. I received prompt communication from the hosts and I appreciated staying in a space that people clearly care about, as opposed to an airbnb flip property. The hosts were even graciously patient when I lost track of time being in retreat mode and needed ten extra minutes to vacate the casita-much appreciated! The access to town was helpful, and even though there are plenty of neighbors, it still felt like a getaway. I enjoyed my stay very much!

Sway in an indoor hammock in a wide open, light-filled space. This period adobe was originally the dance studio of renowned flamenco artist, Maria Benitez. Today it's been reimagined as a semi-rustic, romantic getaway in a private park-like setting.
Built in the 1950's as a dance studio, this large (860 square foot) open plan stand studio house still has it's original oak flooring and rough hewn vigas (beams). It has a rustic southwestern feel without the cliche: a mix of antique, mid-century and contemporary features. There are large new windows and skylights which provide an abundance of natural light and a lovely view of the large trees your own private 1/4 acre property. Casita Benitez feels romantic, whimsical, cozy, bohemian, and a retreat like getaway as well as a fabulous place to unwind. It is also an excellent home base for exploring Taos and surrounding areas. The kingsize bed is dressed with premium organic bedding and very comfortable. The living area has a cozy sofa, chairs and hammock for the ultimate relaxing. The kitchen area has a full size refrigerator, gas oven/stove, all the necessary dish-ware, cook-ware, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, and microwave. The dining table seats 4. The bathroom has a brand new clawfoot tub with shower. There is a large covered porch with views of the big silver poplar trees as well as a enclosed porch with bistro. There is high speed WIFI, Cable TV, and Netflix. For those that need to work there is also is a desk and chair. Although the Casita is large and spacious there are no walls so if you are planning on having more then two guests just be aware there is not much privacy for 3. The sofa is not a pull out but comfortable enough to sleep 1 under 6ft tall. I also can provide a single fold out mattress so please indicate in advance if you plan on having a 3rd guest and I will set aside the proper provisions.
Casita Benitez is in the Canon neighborhood, a mile from Taos city limits, in the foothills of Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The area is filled with Spanish and Native history. Great hiking trails at El Nogal in the Carson National Forest are nearby.
  • Great space - very much enjoyed it. Host was super nice and always looking for ways to offer advice and make stay a good experience. One of the better Airbnb experiences I’ve had.

    Eric2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Located just 2 miles out of town but felt very secluded. The space itself was beautiful and felt like home. Very relaxing. If you’re on the edge, book it, you won’t regret it.

    Lindsey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exceeded my expectations for sure. Open, comfortable and private! I look forward to returning for a longer stay!

    Rob2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re considering booking this place, JUST DO IT! It was exactly what we wanted for our little getaway. The location was excellent & the space couldn’t have been cuter. There were so many thoughtful details that made everything extra special. The communication was easy and they even checked in to make sure we were doing okay. The only downfall was that we couldn’t stay longer and had to get back to real life! 10/10!

    Tana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! What a fantastic experience from start to finish. Justin was such a lovely host. He was in communication to make sure we were well taken care of - he provided recommendations around town, easy check-in instructions, and made sure we had everything we needed once we had arrived. The Casita itself is simply beautiful. Better than photos! The decor is special and the space felt private and cozy. We couldn't have had a better stay. Oh - the BED! It's possibly more comfortable than my bed at home, which I take great pride in :) The bamboo sheets are buttery soft and the bed feels like a cloud. Easily the best Airbnb bed experience we've ever had. I 100% recommend staying here and can't wait to return.

  • Great amenities and serene place

    Diana2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Magical Casita! My husband and I stayed in the casita for our first wedding anniversary and it exceeded all of our expectations. The property itself is cozy, quaint and quiet; the perfect place for a secluded getaway(still just 8-10 minutes away from Main Street). The casita caught our eyes with it’s authentic & beautiful decor and delightful natural light. The kitchenette had everything we needed. The king size bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We checked the tags to buy our own set of sheets. Justin, the host, provided us with a list to the best restaurants in town & places to visit. He was very thoughtful and available for all of our questions. We highly recommend this Casita for anyone looking for a magical space! We will return very soon!

    Sol2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The building itself has a cool history which is a great start, and the inside has even more character. Taos is great to begin with and the location and host made it even better. Thanks Justin!

Experience the unusual architecture that Taos is famous for in this charming, light-filled geodesic dome. This beautiful, artistic space is located 3 miles NE of town, with easy access to all areas of Taos-The Gorge Bridge, Taos Pueblo, Taos Ski Valley, The Plaza, and Hiking. Open sky walking trail out the door! It is about 12 minutes from downtown.
The dome is a 30ft accross, with a bedroom loft space, an old clawfoot bath tub, a composting toilet, a little kitchen and open floor plan. It is best for a solo journey or a couple, but the twin sofa bed for a third guest is quite comfy. It sits on shared land, although access is totally private. We have a lovely walking trail right out the door. Enjoy big open sky! Be sure to note our directions instructions, as Airbnb link doesn't work in our town. Welcome!
The Dome is located in such a manner that just about any direction you head it is close to all that Taos has to offer. It is perfect for a little solitude from the "city" bustle of the Plaza, yet it is only a 12 minute drive to downtown heading South. In addition, heading North, it is 3 minutes from Highway 64 which provides access to Taos Mesa Brewing Company, the Taos Ski Valley, Arroyo Seco, the Gorge Bridge, and other site-seeing adventures. We are excited to share the beautiful walking trail and the huge sunsets and sunrises. Restaurants and shopping are 5-10 minute drive.
  • Beautiful organic home. I felt very comfortable and safe there. Lovely walk through the sage brush to spy on magpies and flickers. I used the space and time for a writing retreat. It was perfect for that. Quiet and serene. Star filled nights viewed through the triangle window in the loft. The bed and linens were super comfy.

    Stella2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so lovely. If your doing lots of different things while in Taos then you cannot beat the location! While in Taos we spent time in town, at the ski mountain, and at some hot springs and this was perfect situated between all of those things!

  • We booked this room last minute, and we hit the jackpot! The earth home feel this cozy stay has is perfect for anyone wanting something unique. We arrived late at night and the host was very accommodating. We enjoyed a nice warm cup of tea before bed and a lovely hot soak in the tub in the morning. Attentional to detail in the home is impeccable, and can honestly say we had an unforgettable stay.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • The Sister Casita was everything we hoped for on our vacation to Taos. Authentic decor made for the ultimate New Mexico experience and the convenient location made exploring all the shops, restaurants, scenery and Taos Ski Valley very easy. Jessica was not only a phenomenal host, she helped us through our first experience with AirBnB, quickly replied to all messages, and went above and beyond to assist us late at night. I’ve traveled the world and there are very few places like Taos, you’ll love it here.

    Jordan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the Casita!! We came to Taos to ski as a last minute trip. We are so delighted that we got to stay here! Check in was a breeze, Jessica was very informative. She was always quick to answer any questions I had, and even checked on us to see how we were enjoying our stay! The casita has everything we needed, I like to cook so I was very happy that she had a well stocked kitchen! The casita was clean and tidy, and also decorated very nicely! The location was great, everything was close! Plenty of great restaurants nearby ( our favorite was Orlando’s) and there was a organic healthy grocery store right across the street. We didn’t get to see any of the Taos local attractions but they were all fairly close. The drive to the ski resort was only about 25-30 min. Would highly recommend staying at Jessica’s casita! Can’t wait to stay here again next ski season! Thank you Jessica for sharing your beautiful home with us!

  • Very charming, super clean, great location, reasonable price, dog friendly, friendly host, couldn't have asked for anything more. Hope to be coming back this summer!

    Hilary2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Sister Casita is a cute, one bedroom located within a duplex. The walls are quite thin, and we could hear the other side of the duplex's conversation early in the morning. However, other than that, the space is perfect, and Jessica is extremely timely with communications. The check-in is simple, and the casita has its own private space. The location is great - near The Love Apple, and we also walked to coffee at The Spot.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our short stay in Taos. It was very clean, cozy, and charming! The bed was very comfortable and the hosts were just amazing with super quick response time and lots of info on things to do and places to see. The Casita is close to everything in town and only 15 miles to the ski area, which was a bonus for us. The kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you'd need for a short or long term stay and we loved the beautiful bathroom. We didn't want to leave, but it's time to get back to work :). We will definitely be staying here again!

  • Jessica was a great help when we booked our trip and provided great communication for all of our needs. The space is perfect for a small group and provides all the necessary amenities. It is also in a great location! It is relatively close to town and restaurants (we were able to walk to the distillery). It is also an easy commute to the ski resort. Perfect spot to get the full experience of Taos.

  • Had a wonderful stay here - clean, comfortable with many artistic touches throughout. It was bigger than I imagined and the fenced in yard made the size seem even bigger (dogs loved the yard). It was also quiet yet close to all Taos has to offer. I look forward to a return visit!

  • Our stay at Casita Rio was wonderful. The space was perfect for our family of four and two dogs. It’s right off the main road so was easily accessible and a quick in and out for day trips to Angel Fire, Santa Fe, and Black Rock Hot Springs. Cid’s Market is just down the street and we had great takeout from Taos Pizza Out Back around the corner.

The loft provided my sister and I each with our own cozy sleeping spaces and the dogs loved playing in the fenced in yard. Would stay here again.

ATTN: March reservations can be MUDDY. This camper is beautiful, romantic, retro-but-modern. The Taos air is clean, fresh, cool. The camper is set up at a private spot at our home about 12 miles (a 25-min. drive) east of Taos (toward Angel Fire). At 8,600 feet the winter can be strong, but the camper stays warm! The camper only has a TINY, TINY, TINY restroom. [NOTE: IN WINTER MONTHS running water IS UNAVAILABLE due to freezing temps (toilet works). But, the hot tub is available year-round!]
Camper includes full-sized bed, refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and sink. There is a USB jack for your music and charging your phone. Camper has forced air propane heat. No cell service is available at the site. WiFi is available. Bonus: There is a beautiful hot tub available for your use at our home next door. Available 6AM to 10PM.
Valle Escondido is a beautiful mountain residential area with a golf course and lots of on-site hiking in the Kit Carson National Forest.

He is loaded with local knowledge, and his recommendations were spot on! Most importantly, Randy and his family are as caring and friendly as they come. I managed to get my heavy truck STUCK stuck on his infamous driveway. He informed me that I now hold the record for being stuck the worst so far (for his sake, don't accept this as a challenge), but they went above and beyond (I feel like this is an understatement) to get me out. I will be forever grateful to his family for helping me out of a literal rough spot, and getting me back to enjoying our vacation. Our trip was amazing, and I have Randy to thank for making that happen. If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! Go check out Randy's camper, and experience a blessing!

    Bob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time hanging in the camper and hot tub. It was cold outside but it stayed nice and toasty inside! Randy was available whenever we needed. Thanks a bunch, Randy!

    Cara2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Hospitality, hospitality, hospitality. Randy went out of his way on more than one occasion to make my stay comfortable and smooth. He’s just a really kind person who seems to like hosting folks and ensuring their stay is great. Enjoying the hot tub as the snow came down at night was magical. A real steal of a place!

    Colin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This space was perfect! Randy was great in giving accurate directions and was very helpful and hospitable. We loved this space it and was great for our quick trip to ski at Taos.

Very quiet. Enjoy your coffee and/or cocktail on the portal enchanted by the scenery and the lush gardens. Minimal light pollution at night. Ideal spot for star watching in the hot tub. Easy to find on the south side of Taos, 2 blocks east of Paseo del Pueblo Sur, I block south of the Canon Bypass leading to Angel Fire. 3 minutes from Sagebrush Inn and 5 Star burgers, 5-10 minutes from Taos Inn and Taos Plaza, depending on traffic. 5 minutes north of the Ranchos church and Old Martina's Hall.
  • Very comfortable place with lots of interesting books to check out. The hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay here again.

  • John was a great host and the room was very comfortable. He also provided tons of recommendations.

    Noah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's really nothing to add to John's already stellar reviews. If you are okay with sharing a bathroom and kitchen, John's place will be great for you. On my stay of seven days, John was away on a trip for the first four days. Entry into his house was very easy. John is a great communicator and a very pleasant and easy-going host. I did not utilize (as so many others have) any of his knowledge of the area or recommendations for things to do, as I was just there to ski for a week so my dance card was full. The skiing at Taos is great and unique, if you haven't experienced it and if you are a proficient enough skier to enjoy it. Highly recommend the "Taos Ski Week," if you're going to Taos to ski--awesome experience!

    Mark2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • John has a very lovely spot in Taos, with beautiful views of the mountains and plains from the hot tub. We'll be back, it's just a matter of time!

    Wallace2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • John has been a great host. He has made me feel like home. It has been my first experience in Airbnb and it has been beyond awesome. I highly recommend John if you want to visit Taos or skiing at Taos Ski Valley.

    Eric2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a good stay at John's house. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed. Nice amenities including the hot tub. John provided info about Taos including good mexican restaurants to eat at. John was a gracious host.

    Ron2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • John is the absolute best! He gave us very details instructions on where to go/do and how to get there. He made us coffee in the morning and was very interesting to chat with. His backyard and hot tub were an added bonus and very beautiful. He lives about 5 minutes from town so very easy to get to everything.

    Marisa2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at John’s place for two nights while on a solo snowboarding trip. The place was as I expected from the reviews, a private entrance, cozy bed, and the great amenity of a hot tub. John and I only encountered each other in the morning as we both got ready for the day, and he was very friendly and helpful with info about the area, and in particular I really enjoyed the homemade rhubarb jam he shared with me over breakfast! The instructions he shared and tips he gives on Taos upon confirming your booking will be clear and helpful for your trip. Thank you, John!

  • We loved our stay in the “cozy” studio!! An awesome experience made even better by the hosts’ thoughtful touches :)

    Ashton2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Off the Grid Earthship was comfortable and warm. We worried about the night time temperatures but they were never an issue. The amenities were there, we grilled out one night and it worked out perfectly! Definitely would come back!

    Shelby2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at the studio!! The place was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the kitchen had everything we could need/want to cook full meals. If you are lucky enough to stay on a clear night the view of the stars is unbelievable.

  • The opportunity to stay in an Earthship is one you should definitely take advantage of! Kirsten’s space is stunning and there is so much beautiful detail and craftsmanship put into it. Highly recommend!

    Jennifer2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This earthship is a place of solace and beauty. It feels like home the moment you enter with lovely amenities like teas and coffee, the indoor garden and a super comfy bed. The landscape and community are awe inspiring and the sky at night will take your breath away. We will definitely stay again!

    Rachael2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our Earthship was exactly as advertised, and Kirsten was responsive throughout the check-in process. It's located in a community of Earthships, about 15-20 minutes from town, and roughly 30-40 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. The off-the-grid experience was impressive--we bathed and made coffee with rainwater, and at night the temperatures got down to single digits, but we weren't cold at all. The house had sufficient power for the TV and to charge our appliances, so we had no difficulty remaining comfortable. We also took up Kirsten's invitation to light a fire in the woodstove. The view of the stars at night is out of this world. The household utilities require some consideration, so this is for adventurous travelers curious about off-grid living. We loved it, and we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Located in the world-famous Greater World Earthship Community, this modern off-grid home is one of a kind! Built by hand over 8 years by me, your host, Kirsten. This sustainable house is bright, light, and airy with clean lines and unique details. Like all Earthships this house is built from natural and repurposed materials such as used automobile tires, cardboard, old cans and bottles. All electricity for the house is from solar. All water is from the sky. More comfort, less hippie.
As seen in: Forbes, Smithsonian, and Airbnb Magazine. This home has 180 degrees of windows to take in the expansive mesa landscape. Located on a 3 acre parcel and surrounded by sage and chamisa, rabbits and coyotes.
  • Staying in the Earthship was beautiful, cozy and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

The property is gorgeous, the view is stunning, and we really appreciated all of the thoughtful touches throughout the home (snacks, tea, blankets, artwork). Communication with Kirsten was excellent. Highly recommend!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful and restorative stay at this Earthship. It's incredible how comfortably you can live off the grid: we never had to turn on the heat despite the temperatures being in the teens at night, and we never felt like we were sacrificing any creature comforts. We loved the organic, exotic and almost whimsical design of the Earthships, it felt like living on Tatooine :) The space is thoughtfully furnished with features like a built-in sound system, and we especially appreciated having some staples (snack bars, half and half) on hand when we arrived so we could save a trip into town.

    Dane2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

Nestled into nature, you are secluded enough to ensure privacy but surrounded enough to not feel too alone. The space is absolutely magical, with an indoor garden and beautiful sunrises and sets. We highly recommend this beautiful place.

  • Perfect for our stay in Taos. My lady loved staying here. Walk to downtown and the drive the the Ski Valley felt very fast.

    Austin2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Hugo and Jessica's space is SO CUTE! It's perfect for one person or a couple, I think it would be tight for more people. The fireplace was so cozy and perfect on the cold nights of the winter. The space was easy to access and Hugo and Jessica were incredibly flexible and responsive when I had many questions. I would definitely recommend this place for folks coming to Taos - it's close enough to walk but far enough away from the hubbub. The sound machine was a great touch, as the bedroom is on the main street. It wasn't loud, by any means, but when there was extra noise the sound machine was GREAT!

Our rustic little cabin is located in a small residential neighborhood 4.5 miles outside of the town of Taos (10-15 minute drive)--off the beaten track, but still on the outskirts of town. The cabin is a charming one room structure including a full bed and single (twin) sleep sofa, dining area, kitchenette, and full bathroom with stall shower. As a writer's or artist's retreat, you may be inspired by the sweeping mountain views, the light and the sheer magic of the area.
The cabin, a pebble's toss from our own small house, was originally a Ute Valley Park, Colorado, summer camp cabin, moved here about twenty-five years ago. Sunrises and sunsets are daily marvels, and at night the stars shine bright. The romance of the area has been enough to have inspired guests to elope while here or to become engaged! Visiting the nearby yet remote Ponce de Leon Hot Springs is a must. The hot springs are a 1.5 mile drive and then a short hike away. It is a peaceful, quiet, remarkably private outdoor place. Our guests have told us that this off the beaten track destination was the highlight of their trip to Taos (and it is a sacred place so remember to be respectful if you visit). There are biking, hiking and walking trails nearby, also within reasonable distance to the Ski Valley, the little mountain villages in the Picuris mountain range (the High Road to Santa Fe), and the Rio Grande. The beautiful San Francisco de Asis Church, an old and impressive adobe Mission building, is not to be missed, and it's just a mile down the road in the Ranchos Plaza, which has shops and restaurants, including our own Two Graces Plaza Gallery, full of art, books and curios of the Southwest. The town of Taos has museums, galleries, shops, and lots of great places to eat.
Llano Quemado is an old residential neighborhood outside of and to the south of Taos. We have big, wide-open views of the mountains all around. The Acequia Llano Quemado runs a few feet from the cabin on its way to water the fields of the community. The little farm right next door raises sheep and goats, and there are dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, too. Even Georgia O'Keeffe found found this neighborhood charming--she was a frequent overnight guest of one of our neighbors!
  • Cute cabin, they've put together a book of local places and directions that was super helpful. Thanks for everything!

    Russ2020-03-10T00:00:00Z

  • This little cabin was my personal heaven. It has such a warmth to it and I loved all the wood and unique decor! Holly and Robert could not have been sweeter (one of these lovely people scraped ice and snow off my car before I even woke up!), and I had a beautiful morning hike up to the hot springs among many other things. It was a gorgeous experience in a gorgeous place. If you’re seeking peace and beauty this place will be a salve for the soul.

    Jenni2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin near a fantastic hot spring we were lucky enough to have all to ourselves 2 mornings in a row.

    Luke2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin on the Hot Springs Road is lovely, comfortable and charming. The hosts, Robert and Holly, are artists, have a knack for decorating, and a gallery in downtown Taos. They welcomed me in person right away, and were very responsive to my questions and needs. Highly recommended.

  • The cabin is AMAZING!!! We love Taos and were so excited to find a getaway like this so close to town. The cabin has some awesome vibes and brings out the relaxation you need. The cabin has everything you need during your stay and the decorations and tiny knick-knack's make this place one of a kind! The directions to the hot spring can be a little trick but we figured it out and had the whole spring to ourselves. Can't wait to .come back and stay here soon.

    Julian2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cool. Never having been to Taos, I didn’t know what to expect. It felt like it was in the middle of no where but it was only a 10 minute drive to things we planned on doing. We enjoyed our coffee one morning in the sun staring at the mountains. The stars are amazing at night. If you can withstand the chilly nights, stargaze! The cabin was decorated so sweet. Loved the recommendations. We never could figure out how to use the main heater, but the smaller one helped just fine. Thanks for letting us stay and having the place ready for us.

Perfect retreat haven, peaceful yet close to town. Perfect for one, pleasant squish for two. Two twin beds. Full range, small fridge. You are close by to other dwellings, but it feels like you are secluded in your own private world. The place was outfitted with all the necessities and just couldn't have been better.

Springwild is a three-acre property at the end of Boyer Ln, which is a short 5 minutes from the plaza and 30 minutes from the Taos ski Valley. The Casita has a small kitchen, large artistic bathroom with radiant heat, and a sleeping and dining area. Springwild is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a great view of the mountains, a variety of outdoor seating, and a wonderful vegetable and herb garden.
Springwild is a 3 acre homestead surrounded by open fields that roll to the Rio Fernando and it's red willows, thousands of migratory birds and mountain views that will take your breath away. The colors at the end of the day and the views of the incredible Sangre de Cristos at sunrise are what brings artists to Taos. Springwild Casita is perfect for a couples getaway, or for an artist or writer looking for peace and quiet. The Casita was built by artist, sculptor, architect, landscape artist, philosopher, gardener, dietitian, cook, poet and steward..... Malcolm Brown. He described life at SpringWild as an experiment in transition to a world of peace, happiness and fulfillment for all. Following his architectural style, we added on a bathroom with beautiful mosaic tiled shower and sink, and radiant heat. The main room consists of a queen size bed, dinning table and a comfy chair for reading. There is a small kitchen with a gas two burner stove. There is also a toster oven. We provide farm fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee, tea and half and half. During the summer enjoy fresh vegetables and herbs from our organic garden, just a few steps from your casita. The property also has a main house which can sleep up to 10 guests if you are looking for a bigger space to share with family and friends. You will love this enchanted place. You are 5 minutes from town where there are lots of art galleries, shops, grocery stores and restaurants, and 30 minutes from the Taos Ski Valley. Close by is river rafting, hiking, hot air ballooning and a links golf course. Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa is 45 minutes away. Abiquiu, where Georgia O'Keeffe lived and Plaza Blanca, where she painted, is an hour and fifteen minutes from Taos.
We are at the end of Boyer Lane, where there are open meadows, horses, and mountain views. It's a wonderful place to wake up to the musical sound of the birds. The Taos Plaza is 2 miles away, on easy back roads. We are also minutes away from several grocery stores, shops, and local restaurants.
  • This is a beautiful, magical house! The hosts were fantastic and easy to communicate with. The location is perfect, with a fantastic view, good access to skiing and downtown Taos. Will definitely return.

  • The Springwild Casita was perfect for a winter adventure! The bathroom tile was gorgeous, and I find myself inspired by the kitchen! Dan & Diane were incredibly hospitable! Thank you!

  • The quaint cottage we stayed in was cozy and had good energy (for those that beloved in it). Thoughtful touches included warm cookies, fresh eggs and tea. We were happy to find this listing and would love to come back to stay in the larger house; it looks like a fairytale cottage. If you are looking for a charming and unique stay, book with Dan.

  • Springwild Casita is a lovely little spot just outside of Taos. It feels like a getaway and a private spot without being too far from the comforts of town. Dan and Diane are attentive hosts who respond quickly when needed. The casita itself is surprisingly roomy without losing comfortable charm. Everything is well-stocked and maintained. Had a great time away.

Experience the ultimate in eco-friendly sustainable living! This ingenious home is luxuriously off-the-grid, with solar power, water harvesting, integrated greenhouse & expansive glass offering views of mountains & star filled nights. But, it's not for everyone! If you need thermostat-control, 20min showers, fast internet, or watch TV for hours, look elsewhere. But if you get in tune with natural cycles, are happy using vents to maintain temperature & are into low-impact living, you'll love it!
Our Earthship, built in 2013, is off-the-grid, meaning all electricity and heating/cooling are solar powered. Water is harvested from rainfall, and used multiple times after domestic use including watering plants in the beautiful integrated greenhouse. The ample New Mexico sun even creates the heat for hot water. The house was constructed with mostly recycled and natural materials, including tires and recycled glass. Everything was lovingly handcrafted and artistic touches abound. You'll find all the comforts of a modern home, but you need to be conservative in your use of water and electricity. It's much easier to be mindful of resource use and in tune with nature with the expansive views -- you'll see sunrises, sunsets, starry skies, and can watch weather move across the mesa with long range views to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Our guests are amazed at how easy and rewarding it is to experience an earth-sheltered natural home and enjoy learning how to help the house perform at its best :) You maintain comfortable temperatures by opening and closing vents, windows and doors - participation is a must!
Our earthship is situated on the Taos Mesa with stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Here and there in the vicinity you'll see the rounded berms and stove pipes of our earthship neighbors. If peace, quiet and beautiful surroundings of the high desert are what you like, this is a great place to be any time of year!
  • Great host and a wonderful experience for anyone trying to escape the craziness of everyday life.

    Katherine2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a phenomenal experience. Jason's earthship is an incredible experience for those seeking a quiet, reflective and connected time with nature. The home is immaculately kept and the sunrise/sunsets are stunning. We have stayed here on multiple trips to Taos and the surrounding areas and highly recommend this stay for anyone seeking a unique experience; close to nature yet also close enough to town to experience Taos fully. Miss it already!

  • This is such an incredible and unique experience that I’d highly recommend. We woke up to unbelievable sunrises, saw more stars than we could’ve imagined and felt so at home. It was remarkable how warm and cozy the earthship was, despite it dropping to the 20s at night!

  • I enjoyed my stay with Robert! He was a wonderful host and make sure we had everything we needed. The place was very clean and had a beautiful view!

    Haley2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The sunset was amazing from the view of the porch! Worth it for that alone!

    Alicia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly lovely and warm oasis

    Jane2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is conveniently located close to Taos plaza and not far from Taos Ski Valley. Though it was chilly and rainy outside, the unit was warm and there were plenty of blankets. Although I didn't personally meet Robert, he called me around check-in time to make sure I understood how to get into the unit and to ask if I had any questions about getting around Taos.

    Rhea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, great location every point of interest in Taos is less than 15 minutes away. On the final day we had limited hot water (which wasn't an issue) However Robert offered to cover a day at the local spa for us to freshen up. Overall 10/10 experience and look forward to coming back.

  • Beautiful cozy Adobe in Taos. We stayed in the coldest time of winter and even with the heat it’s a little chilly waking up in the morning but it’s just part of the Adobe way :) would absolutely stay again. Appreciated the beautiful view and close proximity to town.

Meet Sandy. Raised on the open plains of Oklahoma, she is a Midwestern girl through and through. Due to her large stature, growing up she didn’t get to travel much and, like most Midwest beauts, she dreamed of California. Palm Springs to be exact. Laughing it up with the likes of Marilyn, Frank and Dean, sloshing down Mai Tais and working on her copper tan. Like all starlets-to-be, one day she reached her end, proclaimed “I’m a big girl with long lines and its time the world gets to love me!”, left the ranch and hit the road. With a happy heart and big dreams she crossed the country and took in all the sights, sounds and smells it had to offer. But, while crossing New Mexico, she fell in love. Enchanted, she made camp, and here the Spirit of Taos spoke to her. She knew she was entrapped. Life is about choices and sometimes it throws you an unexpected curve you never saw coming. As a gesture of kindness the guys brought a taste of Palm Springs to this fun-loving lady. Southern Cali meets the mountain life – maybe you can have it all! No, she never made it to that west coast party; she simply became the party and now the world comes to her. Even though its a bit outsite of Taos the views are spectacular and totally worth it, not to mention the strategic location of the brewery right next door out in the middle of nowhere. The place was charming and clean, will very likely stay here again next time I’m in Taos.

Enjoy this private and unique adobe house on 14 acres with its secluded but perfectly situated location 17 miles from Taos Ski Valley and 2.5 miles north of Taos Plaza. You'll have the whole house and all the land to yourself--perfect for a quiet retreat or a romantic getaway. In case your group requires more space, there is an additional 2 person room available through Airbnb (only available to guests that book the Relaxing Taos Adobe Abode.) Please inquire!
The room is just a small part of a 3000 square foot classic old adobe with 30" thick walls. The house was originally built in the early 1900's and features locally milled pine wood floors and counter tops, soft mud plaster with latilla and split cedar ceilings. It sits on 14 acres with incredible unobstructed views of Taos Mountain. It has mature cottonwoods, dozens of (somewhat feral) fruit trees and an acequia (irrigation stream) along its eastern border. The large guest room suite (roughly 350 square feet) features wonderful radiant heat from a Kuma oil stove (winter), a couch, a club chair, 40" HDTV, HULU with Live TV (includes multiple HBO stations, local channels, ESPN channels, NBC Sports, and many other traditional cable channels.) Disney+, Netflix, HBO NOW, Amazon Prime, ESPN+, PBS and many other APPs are also available on a 100Mbs wireless network. The room is also equipped with A/C for the summer months (though the nights in Taos are very cool and the A/C is rarely needed.) The queen sized bed has a feather comforter with duvet, feather pillows, (neck and memory foam pillows are also available as are down alternative comforters and pillows) premium cotton sheets, wool blankets and a mattress pad heater (warm up the sheets before you go to bed!) for extra coziness. There is a small desk with pens, pencils and notepads and a flashlight in case of emergencies. There is an iron inside the wardrobe and an ironing board next to the wardrobe. Lastly, there is an additional 2 person bedroom (king sized bed) that can be booked through AirBnB if you are looking for more space. (The additional room is only available to guests that book this listing--you'll never be sharing the house with strangers.) Enjoy!
The house is located off a paved road but is a 1.5 miles from the nearest grocery stores (Cid's is a wonderful locally owned natural food grocery store similar to Whole Foods) and restaurants. Its about a 45 minute walk into town and a 25 minute drive to Taos Ski Valley. Other places to check out: Coffee: World Cup, The Apothecary Grocery Stores: Cid's Food Market, Taos Market, Smiths Restaurants: Dinner: The Love Apple, Orlandos, Parcht. Lunch/Breakfast: Taos Diner, Gutiz, Manzanita Market, Koko
  • My husband and I stayed 3 nights here and we LOVED it! Easily one of the most unique properties we have stayed in. The historic adobe architecture is amazing, super quiet and cozy during cold nights. We cooked a lot of meals there and felt like a queen and king in the epic dining room. The view of the mountains, the incredible stars, and the proximity to town make it an ideal location. Chris is a very thoughtful, detail oriented host. He gave great recommendations and always responded quickly. Don't pass this place up!!

    Alexis2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is nothing short of awesome! So quiet and private you feel like you're miles away from everything. But your only a few minutes to town and under a half hour to the mountain! Many thoughtful touches, super well appointed space and great communication. Our room was already warm upon arrival and kept us cozy our entire trip. We would definitely stay here again!

    Niki2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique experience to stay at Chris’ place! The kitchen was amazingly outfitted. We really enjoyed our peace and quiet and close proximity to town as well as skiing!

  • If you are looking for the perfect embodiment of Taos charm, then you have found it here. Chris's earthship has everything to make your vacation home feel like your own home. Very well equipped with kitchen and bathroom essentials, with thoughtful perks throughout! You can tell this home and property has a lot of good energy to share with fellow adventurers. Beds are super comfortable, lovely linens, and amazing host who has thought of it all!

  • Incredible home with beautiful views, charming details, and easy access to Taos Ski Valley. We loved making fires in the little stove every night. We also cooked most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. The interior of the home is beautiful and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.

Come stay in our Earthship community and experience sustainable living. We live in the community and have recently renovated this sweet Earthship casita. It has a king size bed, WiFi, TV, kitchen, bathroom and living area, and it's totally off grid! If we are booked for the nights you want, check out our second property, Taos Earthship Studio 2. It is a brand new listing next door to Taos Earthship Studio. We offer firewood in the winter months for $10. Paper, kindling and wood for two fires.
Our space is a one of a kind hand-crafted earthship! It has all it's own systems: The house harvests it's own rainwater, solar power, and uses solar heat and skylights for heating and cooling. Built from recycled materials in a community famous for its commitment to off-grid, recycled, sustainable earthships it is a serene and comfortable base for exploring Taos. The house is suitable for up to two adults sharing a king size bed. Contact us if you are traveling with small children to see about arrangements.
We have lived in the community for over 20 years. We are proud to be a part of one of the few off grid subdivisions in the nation. Our community borders the new Rio Grande National Monument. The Greater World community covers 340 acres with more than 80 earthships of all shapes and sizes. About half the property is commonly owned greenspace. Winter sunrises and summer sunsets are only rivaled by our super clear starry nights. While walking around the community is a great way to see the variety of homes, driving around is considered invasive by many residents. Please respect the neighbors. Our studio is located within the Gravel Pit Reclamation project. Started in 1994, this project is turning an old gravel pit into a sub community of dense sustainable housing. The effort is to reuse land that has already been disturbed for housing and leave virgin land alone. There is a varied collection of earth ships within this project. 13 houses in all! Our studio is located on the south row and faces a berm on the south side. Eastern mountain views are open. We are excited to be a part of this reclamation project and see it evolve as an example for the world. Do be aware that in the winter or during inclement weather power may run low and wifi may not be available. During the winter months, it can be chilly when the sun does not shine, as the house is solar heated and has just a small wood stove. Pack a sweater and some warm socks just in case! It will never be freezing cold inside, just not the 72 degrees Farenheit of a central heated big box hotel. Bringing your own electronics such as hair dryers, plug in heaters, humidifiers, curling irons, toaster ovens, electric heating pads or electric blankets or any electronic with a heating element will not only use all of the house power, but could cause permanent damage to the electric system. Evening walks are a great way to experience the neighborhood, however, please stick to the roads. We see a lot of visitors in our community, so please respect the privacy of all the families who live here full time. We welcome visitors, but are not all working in the hospitality industry. Also, leash your dogs, free range chickens, cats, children and bunnies are plentiful.
  • Thus is one of the most unique places you could choose to stay. I couldn’t recommend it more! The house was clean and cozy with clear information and instructions. The surroundings are gorgeous and other-worldly. Definitely go to the visitor center - it’s free with your stay, thought provoking and fascinating.

    Diana2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The earthship community is so inspiring and amazing! We got a free pass to the visitor center to learn all about Earthships, and really enjoyed all the bright stars in the dark night sky. Not a cloud in the sky. Definitely worth the travel to get out and stay (about 15-20 mins west of Taos)

    Brion2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, very nice and warm on a chilly night.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this earth ship! Very cozy, warm as long as we kept the fire going at night. So quiet when we turned off the electricity inverter!

    Jenn2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to say, description is perfectly accurate and place was clean and inviting!

    Larry2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best off the grid places I've ever stayed. It was easy to find. The place is close to some great locations yet very quiet and tranquil. The bed was really comfortable and warm even with the super cold weather outside. The space was very welcoming and cosy and I would definitely stay again.

    Anthony2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you've ever been curious about Earthships or sustainable housing, Phil's place is a great way to experience off-the-grid living living in comfort. Outside were ten degrees Fahrenheit the night we stayed there, but we were nice and warm inside. The surrounding area is remote, but it's easy to drive into Taos for restaurants or grocery shopping. You're surrounded by other cool examples of Earthship architecture and stunning mountains. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation!

    Caitlin2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Earthship. It was pretty cold outside at night and the home stayed very warm, and the fireplace just added to the winter experience. We would definitely recommend the earthship for a unique place to stay close enough to everything Taos has to offer.

You would have never known it was 20 degrees. The shower house....glorious! It's not that its fancy or anything, but they have really gone the extra mile making sure your shower is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

  • Stylish and modern trailer converted into a hostel environment with 4 bunk beds. Unfortunately I was the only one in the hostel the night I was there (I would have enjoyed meeting someone else), but I really enjoyed my stay nonetheless. I loved the kitchen and dinning area, and very much enjoyed my morning coffee on the attached deck while watching the sun rise over the Taos mountains in the distance. The toilet is in the trailer but the shower is in a separate building, which wasn't a problem for me. Check-in, and general communication was a breeze. It is a bit of a drive outside of Taos, but all-round a very nice place to stay.

    Corey2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location next to Taos Mesa Brewing which has a stellar happy hour and good entertainment nightly. Cute retro trailer with a thoughtful remodel at a great price. Easy access to the Ski Valley so you can ski by day and hit the brewery by night. Classic Taos kind of place.

Casita Turquoise is a newly-renovated casita-style condo, located in a quiet neighborhood just 2 blocks from the Historic District of Taos. Walk to the Taos Plaza, boutique shops, local breweries, restaurants, galleries & historic museums. Catch the free shuttle to Taos Ski Valley a few streets away. Includes a pillow-top queen bed, kiva fireplace, internet, cable TV, full kitchen, private bathroom and free parking.
Our newly-renovated 318 sq. ft. casita-style studio features a kiva fireplace, 10-foot ceilings with traditional viga beams, comfortable bed and beautiful kitchen space. It is adorned with turquoise accents and artwork from local and international artists. Wi-Fi and cable TV allow you to stay connected and enjoy a relaxing evening watching your favorite TV channels. Casita Turquoise is the culmination of a vision we began to develop in the mid-2010s as our careers took us to many special places in the world, including Taos. Casita Turquoise is an homage to our various peregrinations across the globe. The artistic maps above the bed are of cities in which we lived in the U.S., Canada and Haiti, and some of the elements of the décor, such as the bedside rugs, are handwoven products made by skilled artisans of Ethiopia, where our careers took us in 2017. We are so happy to welcome you into this space and share a bit of our journey with you.
Casita Turquoise is located just 2 blocks from the Historic District in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood. It boasts beautifully landscaped grounds with cottonwood and juniper trees. The unit comes with one free parking spot and additional public parking is just one block away.
  • Comfortable, cozy, and luxurious! We loved our stay. The perfect place to stay while attending a wedding at El Monte Sagrado.

  • Well-located in the heart of downtown Taos, I highly recommend a stay here. It was welcoming, clean, and well-maintained with all the amenities one could hope for (including the most comfortable bed ever) in a cozy, romantic, getaway.

  • Absolutely lovely little place. Cozy and comfortable.

  • Our stay was perfect! The place was the perfect launching pad for both exploring town and skiing at Taos. The ski area is only 30 minutes driving and town is walking distance. We were able to explore the plaza and hit up some museums without driving, which is always an added bonus. The place is super cozy and stylish and the perfect size for 2 people. Loved being able to have a fire!

  • Great location! Super cute cottage!!!

  • The casita is such a lovely and cozy space. It has so many special touches, including the traditional kiva fireplace, the fully-equipped and colorful kitchen, the beautiful exposed-wood beam ceiling, and the wonderfully comfortable bed. And on top of that, the location truly can’t be beat. I walked & wandered all thru the historic district every day I was there, grabbing coffee down the street, dipping into countless art galleries and finding so much amazing food within a couple blocks. I also snowboarded one day and the resort was an easy and scenic 20 minutes away. Hugo was very friendly with his messages and thorough with his check-in process, as well as with their guestbook, which has some great restaurant tips. I really hope to come back soon!

  • The condo is beautifully decorated and makes for a cozy stay for one or two people. Check-in is a breeze with Hugo and Jessica providing detailed information you need to make yourself at home. The location is also great - easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, and galleries. Highly recommend.

  • Amazing stay in the heart of Taos. Had a little trouble working the fireplace, but I enjoyed the casita turquoise all the same. Would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway!

  • Gary was such a pleasure to speak with and was extremely helpful in helping us find wonderful things to do locally. The house was in pristine condition and very pleasant to stay in. The sound of the river at night was one of the highlights of our stay! Along with Gary's homemade cookies! We would definitely return to the Riverside guest house.

  • Cute house with all that you need for a nice stay. The view from the bed in the morning was amazing and the stars at night were great.

  • The cabin is awesome and being right on the river was so peaceful. Gary was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was in order and went above and beyond making sure everyone was comfortable. He gave different options on directions in case we wanted to take the scenic route. (You should always take the scenic route!) Looking forward to visiting again!

  • Gary is a sweetie. He left a personal touch that was really sweet for us to walk into later. He came over and helped us get the hot tub going when we had a problem. The river and view of the mountains is gorgeous and the hot tub is fantabulous (great showers too.) Rejuvenating to be in nature like that, my sweetie and I luved it.

  • River’s Edge casita is a gem! All the conveniences of home, the bed is super comfortable and you’ll be greeted by the music of the river. We can’t wait to go back!
