Places to stay in Tollgate
We are located about 23 miles out of La Grande, Oregon, in the northern part of the Grande Rhonde Valley on beautiful Pumpkin Ridge. We have 15 acres, and our studio apartment “the Sanctuary “ is above our garage. We live in a wooded area, and there are great trails and country roads for hiking, long walks., and biking. The studio has a fully equipped kitchen and a barbecue grill out on the deck. It is very quiet and peaceful here. A great place to relax and unwind. A writers paradise.
Studio does not have WiFi and there is no TV. Although we have a TV with dvds and vhs available.
We are next to GROWISER, a large wildflower and animal refuge. Beautiful scenery and trails.
  • This is a wonder, quiet place in the trees. Lovely place!

  • What a wonderful stay! We could not have been more happy with our night here. The space was cozy, clean and provided a perfect get away. This was one of our best AirBnB experiences to date - would highly recommend!

  • A very peaceful space to get away from the noise.

  • A beautiful clean place in a peaceful location was just what we needed and that was exactly what we got. We felt very welcome and would definitely come stay again. We feel rested and relaxed after our weekend at this cozy retreat.

  • This is the best Airbnb stay my wife and I have ever had! It’s pretty easy to tell the difference between a host who is trying to make some extra money and a host that loves to be a host and take care of people. Donna and Richard exceeded all of our expectations. We even invited them over for breakfast and got to know them. They are kind and wonderful people, very approachable, and have an eye for detail. Just make sure you are comfortable not getting emails for awhile if you stay here- but if you are looking to get away from it all, you will not regret staying here!

Room for two on the twin bed if you want to be really cozy. Upon entering house please remove your shoes. Located in Milton-Freewater 3 minutes from down town, about 13 minutes from Walla Walla, 30 minutes from Pendleton and an hour away from tricities. Good size bedroom with a closet to store your clothes and luggage. The bed is a really comfy twin mattress. There is a desk that you can setup your laptop on and use as a work space. We have two cats but they are not allowed in the Airbnb room.
The cozy room has easy access to both the kitchen and the bathroom as it is situated between both in the center of the house with door access to the kitchen. It only has a twin bed, but you can have two guests if you want to be really cozy.
All the neighbors that I've met have been really nice and sweet. There is a Mobile Home park immediately across the street, but all of their places are kept nice and pretty tidy. Their lawns are almost always mowed. It's a mostly peaceful and quiet neighborhood. You won't ever hear a train going by from inside the house, but from outside you can occasionally hear a train.
  • Quaint, free coffee :), nice couple and super great value!

Beautiful Cabin property in the Blue mountains on the South Fork of the Walla Walla River. Close to wine country and perfect destination for a weekend retreat during any time of the year. Can host family reunions or just a couple wanting to get away for the weekend. There are two cabins on property that guests can enjoy. Equipped with full kitchen, three living rooms, laundry room and a total of three bedrooms.
  • Our 2nd trip to this beautiful home in 3 months, and we cant wait for a 3rd. Beautiful interior with amazing woodwork everywhere. Modern kitchen and bathroom, and ALL the amenities you could hope for. The enormous property offers a smaller cabin for privacy, the Walla Walla river running through it, and amazing mountains and trees surrounding it. Justin has poured his life into all the details of the structures and the decor....and we appreciate and admire all the effort. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us. See you again soon.

    Angie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful place for a trip to Walla Walla. We enjoyed the beautiful location, and the house was perfect. Everything was spotless, the decor amazing, and our host was thoughtful and very considerate.

    Susanne2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a get away but still within easy driving distance to the Walla Walla wine country, this is it. We find ourselves returning here for every trip.

  • As others have mentioned, the pictures don't come close to showing how beautiful the area and property is. Definitely appreciated all the added touches throughout.

  • Doesn’t get any better than this cabin along the river!

    Shelly2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This place is amazing. Huge outdoor area, river running right through the property and great spaces inside & out to relax and enjoy each other’s company. The house is simply gorgeous and has everything you need to cook good meals. An amazing outdoor BBQ patio is just perfect for relaxing and having a cocktail while cooking up some dinner. Host was so nice and made sure to meet us and show us all around as well as give us some history on the place. I highly recommend this place.

    Robin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was very peaceful and relaxing. The pictures that are posted do not do this property justice. Justin is a 5-star host in all categories. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. He also shared his amazing peach/blackberry cobbler with us!! Falling asleep to the sound of the river was so peaceful. Next time I’ll bring my fly rod! Everything about our stay, exceeded our expectations.

    Darlene2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do it justice!!! I knew this place would be a great location for wine tasting and some relaxation for the 3 day weekend for my husband and I, and one other couple...but it was absolute perfection. We pulled up and couldn’t believe this would be where we were staying. The property was a gorgeous location in the mountains, with the creek in the back. Beautiful, rustic home with the most perfect touches. The backyard was massive and loved hanging out on the swing and deck, listening to the river. And we saw a bunch of bunnies and deer everyday. Amenities were great, rooms were so comfy and cozy. I highly recommend this home. It could not have been any better.

  • This cottage was perfect. Had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again.

    Jodie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Donna and Steven's place. We were there for our anniversary and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful and private spot. From the comfortable and sparkling clean cabin to Donna's thoughtful welcome tray with muffins and raspberries, everything was perfect! We would definitely stay there again!

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was very peaceful. Donna and Steve were accommodating to my schedule and Donna even provided me with bath salts to enjoy the big clawfoot tub that is in the cottage. Bed and sheets were super comfy. They provided tea, coffee and cream which was great for the morning. There's no sink in the bathroom so you'll need to use the one in the kitchen. Also, you can't park next to the cottage so you will need to pack your stuff in a short walk. Not a problem for me but might be for folks with mobility issues. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the stars are amazing out there. I enjoyed a night and morning walk around the grounds and had the entire space to myself other than the neighbor's horses and the birds Donna has on-site. The finch aviary is a lot of fun to watch. There's no TV or wifi but I have Verizon and had cell and data service no problem. This is a great place to stay and relax or use as a base location for exploration into Milton-Freewater or Walla Walla. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Located in the Walla Walla Wine Region and Rocks AVA of Milton Freewater, Annie's Place is nestled between the Walla Walla and Little Walla Walla Rivers. The property encompasses 5 acres of pasture offering a peaceful stay in a small farm setting. Home to Rose the lab, 4 sheep, a colony of bees, and multiple unnamed chickens & roosters ... we'd love to have you visit.
Annie's Place, opened in May of 2018! There are no 'kitchen' facilities in the Cabin. We do provide a microwave, hot pot/instant beverages, dishes/utensils, picnic baskets, wine glasses/opener/stopper ... if you're interested. With advance notification, you are welcome to use either the BBQ or the kitchen in the house. There is a fire pit on the patio that can be used to cook various things. Future plans include additional housing options - watch us grow!
Milton Freewater is a wonderful small town in Eastern Oregon. Located in the heart of Eastern Oregon/Washington Wine Country, Milton Freewater is home to a wonderful AVA (wine lingo) the Rocks District. We are so close to the Blue Mountains (the Blues) that you can see them, the Columbia and Snake Rivers are in the area, and the Palouse region of Washington State (Palouse Falls is gorgeous). The City of Walla Walla is a short drive away via Hwy 11 - home to a plethora of tasting rooms and food. And Pendleton, Oregon a smooth 30 minute drive away is home to the Pendleton Round-Up and Whisky MusicFest.
  • Vickie and Gard's Tiny House was a fun place to stay for the night! Cozy and Comfortable. Set on their property, but private. Decorated very cute! You can walk the property and visit the sheep and chickens too! Close to lots of wineries!

    Debbie2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home is adorable but doesn’t feel tiny. High ceilings and lots of windows make the place feel quite roomy and homey. The fire pit in front is a lovely outdoor extension of the home and allowed us to enjoy the sounds of the creek running by. We definitely enjoyed the experience.

    Jason2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My son and wife said they had such a wonderful time in this cute space! Thank you for the truck parking accommodation, too. :)

    Sherri2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie and Gard’s tiny house exceeded expectations, which I’m not sure how seeing the stellar reviews. The tiny house has everything you need and then some. Vickie’s homemade biscuits and jam were a delight each morning. The bed was comfortable, space was perfect and very clean. Unfortunately with the little bit of rain, we didn’t take advantage of the fire pit or s’mores kit, but I can promise you we will next time. These two are lovely and you’d be a fool not to experience Peach Island.

    Kevin And Heather2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gard & Vickie's little cabin is such a great place! Very cozy and comfortable. We went to sleep each night listening to the creek, it was so peaceful. Vickie brought us coffee and wonderful biscuits each morning!! Vickie was knowledgeable about the local happenings and things to do. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and watching the moon come up, it is such a peaceful/restful place to stay. They are very gracious and attentive hosts, and always have a moment to visit. I would highly recommend Peach Island Farms - Annie's Place!!

    Desi2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Get ready for fresh Hawaiian coffee and home-made jams and biscuits. Sit on the front porch and listen to the creek run by and than jump in your car for 5 minutes to one of the many beautiful wineries. Chic, cozy abode for two with helpful and thoughtful hosts.

    Mara2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time in Walla Walla and we wanted to explore the "rocks district" wineries and vineyards. Gard and Vickie's place is right in the heart of it and the "South side" wineries are all just a short drive. The location was great and tucked into a neighborhood where all of a sudden your on a farm complete with chickens, sheep, yellow lab, babbling brook and beautiful field right outside your door. Vickie was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable about the local wineries and eateries. She steered us right and we had a fun time at nearby (walkable) Watermill winery and the neighboring brewery and food truck. Had a great time in their game room and hubby watched the NFL game. We also followed her recommendation to eat at Hattaway's in downtown Walla Walla which was fabulous. The space is cute and cozy just what we needed and as other reviewers indicated the morning coffee service with light breakfast is amazing. We sat outside on the porch sipping our coffee and eating a home made biscuit with her plum jam, listening to the water and looking at the big trees. We were really happy with our stay as the value for this space plus experience was well worth it.

    Debby2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were sad to leave this spot! The setting is pastoral and relaxing (loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek) and Vickie and Gard were so hospitable; we hope to be back!

Weston Mountain Lodge is a grand, open space full of natural light that feels intimate and cozy too. A group of friends or families as well as a couple or an individual would all feel at home here. The house and land inspire reflection and solitude. Weston Mountain Lodge feels magical and “other worldly” - a quiet oasis tucked off life’s busy path. The Lodge is a perfect place to disconnect so you can reconnect, where you can build traditions and create lasting memories.
The Space Weston Mountain Lodge is a stately mountain home with beautiful wood accents that include giant Doug Fir beams and a wooden interior ceiling. The Lodge was built in the late 70’s and it’s design was inspired by Forest Service structures in Alaska. It has a grand, sturdy and sheltering feeling with a 24 foot ceiling at its apex. The second floor is open to the living space downstairs, which flows from living room to kitchen to dining room and outside to the deck and the hot tub room. The main floor floor plan is open and, even though the lodge is a large space with high ceilings, the main floor feels open to the outside, while also feeling comfortable and sheltered from the elements. The Main living area has a seating area tucked up around the propane stove in front of a wall of windows where you can watch wildlife and weather. The Hot Tub Room This magical space is a bridge between inside and out. You can climb in the tub and open windows and a slider on three sides, which allows for fresh breezes - or in the winter - a refreshing chill to compliment the warmth of the tub. It easily can accommodate 3-5 people. Guest Access The house sleeps 10 people in four bedrooms. Upstairs is a day bed with a trundle bed to sleep 2 more. The house has a queen size blow up mattress and an additional twin mattress that can also be set up for an extra 3 people. The house can sleep 15 with the blow up beds. Children and hearty adults can also sleep in sleeping bags on couches or on the floor in the living room. The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed with an adjacent bathroom. The bath has a shower with a built-in seat, fluffy towels, basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste/extra new toothbrushes, hand lotion, Q-Tips and cotton swabs). Upstairs There are three upstairs bedrooms and a day bed/trundle bed. These rooms share one bathroom that has a shower/tub combination with lots of towels and extra toiletries if you should need anything. The Library Room This room has a queen size bed that sleeps two. Enjoy a private deck under the shelter of the nearest “high rises“ - a grove of majestic Doug firs and ponderosa that soar to more than 150’+ above the Lodge. A handmade barn wood bed frame is a stand out feature, as is the skylight. The library is a floor to ceiling book collection replete with thought provoking and eclectic books for all ages, as well as reference books of flora and fauna and local maps and recreation information. The Blue Room The walls are a beautiful sky blue, and the room has a skylight and two large windows that let in abundant natural light. The bunk beds and a double bed are a good configuration for a family with children, a group of children or any other grouping, for that matter! The Master Bedroom At the north end of the house the Master bedroom, with a queen size bed, is a private retreat that enjoys views out to the aspen grove through the large windows. There is a private door that leads to a deck off the end of the house. Enjoy total privacy and peace from the Master Bedroom. The Pendleton Room Upstairs at the end of the hall is a colorful “hang out” space where you will find a TV with DISH TV and a large collection of DVDs. Curl up and enjoy movies! The Mezzanine A daybed brimming with cozy pillows and blankets is tucked under a skylight where you can curl up with a book from our library, take a nap, or watch the weather and trees through the skylight. At night, this becomes an extra sleeping space for two with a pull out trundle bed below. The Lodge and its land is a haven for children of all ages. Inside are books and toys for young visitors, a high chair, a chair that hooks to the island bar counter, and bath tub. Outside, kids of all ages can enjoy the abundance of nature as well as play on the beautiful outdoor play structure with swings, a slide a small climbing wall, and plenty of buckets and shovels for digging. Outside Areas There are many places where you can enjoy the beauty and seclusion of Weston Mountain Lodge and the land. Both the Master bedroom and the Library Room (both upstairs) have private decks; the front of the house has a lovely deck with a teak table and umbrella that can accommodate 8 people. It’s a lovely place to enjoy coffee and breakfast while listening to the birds. The back cement patio has a chiminea, bar table and chairs, a grill, and a view of the wonderful outdoor play structure for children to enjoy. There are several meadows for picnicking, laying out a blanket for a nap, pitching a tent or doing yoga. The upper meadow has a large stone fire pit. The lower meadow is near the pond and under the aspens, which provide nice shade and dappled light in summer. This is a perfect area for outdoor weddings or concerts, as the meadow is gently tiered, with amphitheater access to a round flat “stage” area adjacent to the pond.
Weston Mountain Lodge is located in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon. Locals call the area "Tollgate" and it is home to four seasons of outdoor recreation - From hiking and mountain biking to winter sports such as nordic and backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Also, seasonally, fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, wildflower viewing, and bird watching are easily accessible. Jubilee Lake is less than an hour away and is a beautiful place to spend the day. Access to the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness Area is just a few miles up the road. It is an easy drive that affords stunning views and easy to moderate hiking. About ten miles up the road is the Alpine Outpost, a mountain restaurant, specializing in American and European food. It’s a nice and easy place to get a meal from the house. Also, in the town of Weston, is the Upper Crust, an English-inspired tea house and restaurant serving delicious food and drinks. And, also in Weston is the “Longbranch Restaurant,” a local treasure serving hearty breakfasts and burgers.
  • Awesome cabin with lots of space for family and friends. We had a large group including many kids, everyone had a great time sledding on the property and hanging out together playing games inside. If you're interested in sledding on a bigger hill, there are several locations in the Blue Mountains just 10-20 minutes away such as Andies Prairie. There are also lots of snow shoeing and snow mobile trails nearby, lots of opportunity to have fun in the winter weather! Heidi and Kyle were great hosts, they are very responsive and came out to help us troubleshoot an issue with the kitchen stove. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun getaway from city life.

Dogs share this working vineyard and home a 15 minute drive from Walla Walla. We also have ample room for parking. Los Rocosos Vineyard is located in the celebrated Rocks District of the Walla Walla AVA and is close to a number of wineries, eateries, and recreational sites. Los Rocosos is DOG FRIENDLY. Two rooms are available.
The vineyard is fairly close to the Blue Mountains, the Columbia and Snake Rivers, and the Palouse region of Washington State. The city of Walla Walla is minutes away and is just packed with tasting rooms and eateries. Pendleton, Oregon is 30 minutes away. The vineyard is surrounded by orchards. There are dogs that live here and they actually have jobs. One keeps all the critters out of the vines and the other takes care of the smaller rodents. We have no fence however. One room has a queen bed and the other has two twins. There is a bathroom with a shower available for guest use and guests may use the kitchen and laundry. I am a musician also so the living room also has a number of instruments in it. I always have a big, organic vegetable garden and if you're lucky, you'll get to share. I also cook and often entertain.
We are surrounded by orchards and sometimes they spray. Just be aware of that. People also ride horses.....a lot...here, and sometimes they canter through the property. The neighbors get along with each other and the Walla Walla River is close, really close.
  • Roger and Lucinda were welcoming and made us feel right at home. The location is close to town and many wineries! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

My daughter and I got to learn about vinticulture and spend some slow time together relaxing and enjoying being together. Our dog also had an amazing time. She joined Roger's pack and got a lot of running in around the yard and vineyard. Roger is such a great host. Very knowledgable about the region, winemaking, and an excellent guitarist. My favorite amenity was how dog friendly Roger's home is. And also that Roger had secret insider info about where to get great deals on hard cider.

    Kristine2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Rogers vineyard home was one of the coolest experiences Ive had in a long while. He made me and my dog Holly feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Roger had all sorts of local knowledge and stories to share and was a great communicator during my visit. The room I used and the bathroom were super clean upon arrival. Roger has some amazing dogs too that I really enjoyed hanging out with! Walking through the vineyard in the mornings was great. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend. And thanks for the bottle of cider too Roger!

From the thoughtful choices of tea to the above average toiletries—this property truly left my guest and I relaxed. The level of care is something to appreciate alone. Location was easy find, parking was simple and quick, checking in was no issue, and finding suggestions for other activities in town were aplenty. Needless to say, I will be returning to this property at some point!

If you are looking for a unique and quintessential Airbnb experience, you have found it! This cabin is a very private retreat for a romantic get-away, a gathering with friends, or for a special occasion. You will enjoy views of the surrounding pine forest in a tasteful, modern, and updated cabin with every amenity. Drive just minutes to the restaurants and wine tasting attractions in Walla Walla, or stay home and cook, barbecue, enjoy one of three outside decks, or take a walk in the woods.
My fully renovated cabin exudes a warm yet modern feel with a spacious open floor plan, sweeping south-facing windows, cork flooring, cedar trim, slate hearth, and fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy your morning coffee on a balcony overlooking the canyon, or sip wine on the deck off the kitchen while barbecuing on the gas grill. Downstairs you will find an exercise bike and a deck with two glider chairs to relax and enjoy the surrounding forest. A widescreen TV is connected to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and a Blu-Ray player. If you are a music lover, you can connect your smartphone to the stereo system. The master bedroom features a Queen sized bed with high quality linens and beautiful windows looking out on the forest. A full bath is immediately nearby. The downstairs couch pulls out to sleep two in a full-sized bed, again with high quality linens and a memory foam mattress cover for optimum comfort. Another private bedroom with a double bed is also available downstairs. Both share a full bath. Every rental includes breakfast foods to cover you the first morning: eggs, orange juice, oatmeal, granola, milk, cream, apples and oranges, English muffins, butter, jam, teas, and of course fabulous, strong coffee (Melita Drip and French Press available). NO stale, plastic Keurig coffee here! The kitchen is well-equipped with nice pots and pans, utensils, appliances, and the like. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any needed condiments, spices, cooking oils, etc.
Close to Walla Walla, yet very private, with a spectacular view of the mountains. In the summer we are generally 10 degrees cooler up here than in Walla Walla, and each night a mountain breeze keeps us cool and refreshed. There are no immediate neighbors so this is a truly private and beautiful refuge.
  • Phil’s place is great. We went to Walla Walla for a girls getaway wine release weekend. Phil’s place was super clean and had all the amenities one could ask for. I highly recommend his place and the next time I go back to Walla Walla I would definitely like to stay again.

  • Great cabin, excellent host.

    Martin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This wooded retreat was absolutely beautiful. The house was unique, stunning and cozy. The kitchen was perfect to bring home bottles from your wine tasting and cook while sipping on local wines. It was great for the 4 of us and could do 3 couple nicely. It is 20 mins from town but worth the quiet seclusion. Many nice touches that you do not normally get with AirBnBs which would intake me to go back.

    Claire2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous home in Mill Creek. Quiet, private and close to town and wineries. Phil is a great host: Always ready and quick to answer any questions. We had a great stay!

    Melinda2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy the outdoors or seeing the stars at night in a peaceful and scenic setting, yet nearby wine country and great restaurants, then this is the place for you. Besides the location, Phil has thoughtfully supplied the essentials and more you need to enjoy your stay. We've stayed at numerous AirBnb locations worldwide and by comparison, Phil has gone beyond the basics by even providing breakfast items and a fully stocked kitchen with cooking utensils. We appreciated the great night sleep as well. Thank you.

It has a nice open plan living space, with equipped kitchen, dining area and lovely comfortable living room with fireplace and TV. We were visiting family in Milton Freewater, but if you book this place for fun in Walla Walla, it is just a short drive away. I will be booking this home away from home for our next trip.

    Kari2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The home smells brand new and is furnished with cozy furniture and comfortable beds. The pantry was well stocked as was the fridge with condiments, apples and butter. It was as if we walked into someone’s home and had free range to use what we needed and that is why I choose AirBnb’s rather than hotels whenever possible. I give the home two thumbs up and recommend it for a friends weekend, or for a small family.

  • Great place to stay right in the heart of wine country! Very spacious place with three good sized rooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with whatever you might need for cooking at the house! Good knives and nice wine bottle opener (always a plus)! The coffee bar as others have mentioned was super nice to have. They left plenty of coffee pods for us to use and a few flavored creamers as well. The house is very cozy and a relaxing place to come back and unwind. Since we were there in December, we didn’t get to use the outdoor deck area but can see that it would be an added bonus to be out there relaxing and taking in the views! Definitely recommend staying here!

  • When we first arrived to the house I was so excited and felt the peacefulness of the place. There was something about it that I just had to take a moment and stand there and take it in. It was the most peaceful feeling I have felt in sometime. Being out in nature and the aroma and the sounds were amazing. I knew I had found a gem and first thing I waned to do was to grab my paints and canvas and do some painting. I was excited to have found a retreat that was going to be healing and restful. The house inside is very nicely done with lots of personal items of the owners family that give you a little insite of the fun that has happened there. Am glad to have time to enjoy it all.

We do have a total of four rooms available so you may share common areas with other guests. This room does not have a private bath and is upstairs. The shared bath is downstairs and robes are provided. A cozy little living room with a Smart TV is located at the top of the stairs alone with a mini fridge and microwave. This room currently does not have a TV.

  • We loved our stay here! The house was cute and cozy with a lot of interesting history. Stacy was great, super communicative and friendly. Check-in was easy and our room was very comfortable, and the fluffy bathrobes were definitely a great addition! We would definitely stay here again.

  • Stacy is wonderful to work with and she makes great homemade breakfasts. Her home is very comfortable. The white fluffy robes to wear down to the bathroom are a nice added touch. My recommendation is to reserve the downstairs room with the bathroom included. The other four bedrooms all share the downstairs bathroom which can be tricky if you're all getting ready at the same time. We loved our stay!

We are close to museums, wineries and many historical sites including Whitman Mission, Ft. Walla Walla museum complex, Tamastslikt Cultural Center and the Pendleton Round-Up. Settled in the 1860's and 70's, the area is rich with history as well as being a major Pacific Northwest Wine Region. We are 'close enough' to many places to hike from the property or to drive a short distance and hike into the Blue Mountains. Wallowa Lake, Joseph and Enterprise, Oregon are within two hours of Nestledown.
  • Joan and Wade we're very welcoming and enthusiastic hosts while being careful to respect our privacy. We had a great relaxing getaway.

  • What can I say? This was a very important trip for us and Nestle Down farm exceeded all of our expectations. Beautiful and clean and the perfect space for my grown family to gather. Truly the best Air BandB experience I’ve ever had . Thank you Joan and Wade!

    Kim2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place. So beautiful and peaceful. And there was so many little thoughtful touches throughout the home. Never had to worry about having an extra pillow or blanket and towel. And Joan and Wade were such warm, welcoming hosts. We can’t wait to go back.

  • I would stay here again, both Joan and Wade were great hosts.

    Wade2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The farmhouse was charming! Joan and Wade were friendly and had many special touches in the home including fresh flowers, fresh squeezed juices etc. We had so much fun enjoying all the animals on the farm, including the family of owls on the property and sweet Dolly, the llama! We will definitely return! Highly recommend this farmhouse!

    Robin2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nestle down is a lovely, peaceful country setting and Joan was such a wonderful host. The century farm was incredible and the renovated farmhouse had every modern amenity imaginable.

  • Laura was great! Place was clean and tidy! Great experience!

    Stephanie2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place out in the countryside. Very clean, excellent host, convenient to town and lovely space!

    Monique2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The bed is amazingly comfortable. I have a friend who looks first for that detail. Once that's know, everything else is superfluous. There is everything you need here but noting you don't. There is no TV but the wifi is reliable and easy to connect to with my Apple devices. There is no blow-dryer but I bet if you asked for one, Laura would happily provide. One other detail coming from a city woman . . .this house is in the country and the country has spiders and beetles. A few of the harmless kind made their way in. Be ready for that.

    JoAnna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was a wonderful host. Me and my husband loved her place. Her place was very clean, cozy and comfortable. Had coffee available for us. And she even baked cookies and delicious cinnamon rolls for us. That was amazing. We also loved the Mountain view. We enjoyed seeing the farm animals. Communication with her was excellent. We definitely plan to return again.

    Ivette2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Booked a personal retreat for a friend at this lovely guest house and she had a wonderfully rejuvenating stay! Very clean and relaxing!

    Mika2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • So glad we chose to stay at Laura's place, Mountain Views, outside of Walla Walla, WA. It was every bit as pretty as the photos suggest and Laura could not have been nicer. The location is convenient to town and close to many local vineyards. The suite, which is separate from the main house, felt very private and was just the right size for the two of us. We would definitely stay there again.

    Barbara2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was awesome! The place was very clean and the views were amazing! They had two cows a goat, two donkeys and a cute black lab that loved to be petted! Location was perfect for visiting many Wineries. Will stay there again the next time we make it to Walla Walla! Thank you!

If you are looking for clean, well-lit, and spacious, you have found true gem of a place. Conveniently located in Milton-Freewater, ten minutes from Walla Walla and thirty minutes from Pendleton. Whether you are here for tours of award-winning Walla Walla Valley wineries, touring campuses, visiting friends or family, or here to “Let ‘er buck” at the Pendleton Round Up, we have a place for you. Within quick walking distance of restaurants and shopping. Your home away from home!
Although this is a great family rental , it has not been child-proofed (Out-let plugs, cabinet latches, etc...) so, please, supervise young children at all times.
    Quiet family neighborhood.
  • This is a shipshape duplex, well appointed, roomy and sparkling clean. It is located about a block off the highway and close to the town's major supermarket at the edge of an older neighborhood of small single-family houses. The corner duplex is across the street from the parklike campus of a bank, so it's very quiet and protected from highway noise. While neither luxurious nor stylish, it's extremely well maintained and all of the fittings, furnishings and appliances have been kept up, repaired or replaced by owners who are clearly house proud. The owners have provided everything we needed - from kitchen tools to linens to shampoo - plus a pound of good coffee, chocolates and a Christmas flowering plant. We will definitely stay again.

    Eliza2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious, clean, comfortable house with two bedrooms and baths in a fabulous location for easy drives to Milton-Freewater, The Rocks District wine country, and Walla Walla. Our hosts made it super easy for us to stay for a working visit. The place was sparkling clean, and plenty of room for two (two couples could easily enjoy the place) to relax and work in. Won't hesitate to check its availability when we return. Thank you Donna! Five stars!

    Paul2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • This is the second time I brought my kids to stay at Donna's. And I came back because I knew it would be a great stay! It's quiet, comfortable, very clean, and we have everything we need. If I need anything, Donna is very quick to respond, and she is thoughtful in her suggestions as well. I highly recommend Primrose!

  • Relaxing, spacious home 15 minutes from Walla Walla, near wineries. Definitely recommend checking out Pendleton's Underground. We also were able to catch the 10 a.m. football games at Wildhorse casino's sports bar.

  • This apartment was perfect for our weekend getaway to attend an event at a local winery. Check in was easy, and it was very clean. I was wondering if we would hear road noise, but it was really quiet inside. It was just what our group of 3 were looking for. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in need of a place in Milton-Freewater.

Located in Milton-Freewater 3 minutes from down town, about 10 minutes South of Walla Walla, 30 minutes from Pendleton and an hour away from tricities. Good size bedroom with a closet to store your clothes and luggage. The bed is a really comfy queen mattress. There is a desk that you can setup your laptop on and use as a work space. We have two cats but they are not allowed in the Airbnb room.
  • Amazing place. Very nice and humble people. I stayed here for a night and it was peaceful. The place was clean and comfy.

  • Arron and Emily are flat out awesome. They have two rooms the cozy room and the comfy room. We stayed In the comfy room. For years i have been waking up somewhere between 4 and 5 am and if I'm lucky able to go back to sleep for a while a couple hours later. This room is called "The Comfy Room" and rightly so. I slept in one day until 12:30pm. I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the clock. This bed hugs you and holds you like a godly pillow. Apart from the bed... We were nervous, our 3rd airbnb ever and our first in a shared environment. Arron and Emily are so AWESOME. First everything is labeled and arron will gladly show you the ropes of the house. Expectations are clearly posted in each room as well as little extras like a nice note about the fan being for white noise if needed. And how to work the tv. I had issues here and with in minutes of messaging arron he replied back saying how to fix it and he would be home soon and could help. Me not being the best with tech gladly accepted this help and not to long and I had full working chromecast. I WAS APOLOGIZED FOR HIM INTRUDING IN MY SPACE. This goes to show the true level of respect these guys have for their guests. I got an apology for the intrusion into my room, after I asked for help. Do not hesitate for a second to stay here. We were even told if we needed to stay for an extended time that we could do laundry and could even get a discount. I cant tell you enough how awesome, generous and welcoming Arron and Emily truly are. If you want privacy here you will get it, even though its shared space you will feel like you are in your own. If you want to chat both arron and emily will stop what there doing and talk as long as you want. Truly a blessing it was to stay with them. Dont let the price fool you, they say you get what you pay for, but that's not the case here, these guys deliver top notch service and offer it to any income level. We WILL be back. -Zach & Stephanie

Milton Freewater is a wonderful small town in Eastern Oregon. • You'd love comfortable cosy little trailer with welcoming owners. They will also guide you what you can do and see near the town. Cicadas sing beautifully at night (in September); the breakfast outside of the house is delicious; and the owners can help you in many cases. We were happy to stay here! Vitaly and Ksenia :)

  • We got to heard their sheep! This place is cool, convenient and unique. So many small touches make this trailer a one of a kind experience and it was close enough to walla walla that we were able to enjoy our time there.

  • Our stay at Gard and Vickie’s trailer ranks among our all time favorite Airbnb experiences. They have carved out a little slice of heaven for their visitors, and go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome on their property. This is the perfect launchpad to explore the walla walla valley.

  • Highly recommend staying a while on Peach Tree Farms sharing space with chickens, sheep, and Rose the world's happiest Labrador. big thanks to Vickie for looking after us and providing delicious breakfast of Kona coffee on warm home made biscuits with honey from their beehive and berries grown around the farm. Annie's place was perfect, comfy bed and very nice bathroom, most time was spent sat by the fire pit next to the river. Thanks Vickie and Gard!

  • This was my first time in an air bnb and it was amazing. You get the feel of and “entire place” for the price of a private room. They were very thoughtful and you can tell they have been doing this for awhile. They provided everything you need, even big spray which I didn’t even end up needing. They offered a s’mores kit and wine. It was a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend staying to anyone :)

  • A must visit

  • Our stay was relaxing and we loved being greeted by Roger and LaCinda's canine crew! Roger filled us in on cideries, wineries, side trips, history, arts & culture of the area. Los Rocosos Vineyard is convenient to so many things on both Walla Walla and Oregon sides, and all are beautiful. We felt at-home, had lots of laughs, were very comfy, and our hosts were kind and generous. We'll return again and again!

  • Stacy was extremely friendly and welcoming, communication was excellent and check in went very smoothly. The house is very historic and feels extremely authentic, but at the same time is maintained really well and is kept very clean and tidy. Stacy's breakfast was delicious, and her enthusiasm for her property and the local Elgin area made us want to stay longer than the one short night we had!

  • This place was great. Stacy the host was perfect, super helpful and communicative, and very nice and friendly...Dixie the little dog was great too! This place was built in 1890 or something so

  • The Mays House Bed & Breakfast First impression: When you drive up, it is quiet. Cars pass by on the Main Street and you barely pay attention to them. The neighborhood kids ride past on their bikes soaked from running thru the sprinklers across the street. Later that evening the bikes are still in the yard, unattended because that is the kind of place this is. It's what we baby boomers call home! It is reminiscent of what we grew up knowing. The house: It is a very calm atmosphere, full of antiques and history, everywhere you look, there is something to see! (If you're sensitive you will get peace and quiet here as it is not a haunted house.) It is very nice and clean! When I say clean i mean -it is clean! (It does not have a musty smell as some old houses do!) The chandeliers sparkled not a cobweb or dust bunny in site! The stairs and hallways have motion lights which are handy on nighttime runs to the loo! The May's Room. Day 1 We had the option of open windows or using the AC. We liked the breeze and opted to give the night a try with the windows open. It was great! The breeze was perfect, the room was cool --but we made a big mistake! In having the window open coupled with the small town quiet factor. All outdoor sounds became very audible! Every car that ventured out that evening, we heard! Every truck and yes you too Mr. Z-28! All cars coming and going --we heard! We barely slept. This was our mistake! Day 2 We cheated with the best of both options! We opened the 2nd window and kept the AC on! Slept like two sleeping baby's on Benadryl! We were wishing we hadn't wasted the previous night awake. Let me make this clear that was our fault! Restroom: The restroom is downstairs! It is large and roomy and has a large window which is great for airing out any remnants of previous users! There is a beautiful claw foot tub/shower tall enough for 6'3" to not have to squat down! My only recommendation is if you are my height which is 5'3" be very careful getting in and out of it. It's built for taller legs! Great water pressure! Breakfast! OMG Breakfast! We were asked what time we would like breakfast. We were asked if we wanted breakfast in bed. We were asked how we like our eggs. Let me tell you this. We received our good morning text at the designated time and descended downstairs. It was on the table waiting for us! Perfect farm fresh scrambled eggs! Light, butterey and full of flavor! Four sausage links seared to perfection! Cast iron grilled potatoes with diced onions- crisp on the outside fluffy soft on the inside! Also available were coffee, juice or tea and fresh slices of sweet crisp watermelon! Stacy: Saving the BEST for last! Stacy has...

The Sacajawea furnishings came from the historic Sacajawea Hotel formerly in La Grande, Oregon. Rumor has it that Clint Eastwood stayed at that hotel so who knows, maybe this is the same bedroom set. History oozes from this lovely 1890’s home. It is majestic and still takes my breath away. Our Victorian style brick home is furnished with unique antiques (you can look at things for days!). The spaces are plush but comfortable. We do have a total of five rooms available so renting the whole place is an option. This room is on the 1st floor and does not have a private bath, don't worry, we supply super comfy robes for that trip. We are fully licensed for lodging and food so you can feel confident in a quality stay. The home is filled with antiques to set the mood of the early 1900's. Browse the house for keepsakes and unique items for sale exclusively to our guests. This room is a great choice for travelers wanting a taste of luxurious history. Smart TV in room, WiFi, robes, slippers and room service. Screen door for an evening breeze.
We are within two blocks of the public pool, parks, downtown area, the historic Opera House with live plays fall-spring and the WURR historic train ride running spring-fall. Message host for details.
  • Very nice place for the price. Great breakfast in the mornings. Will stay again in our travels.

  • Very cute BnB in a historic house. Breakfast is a reasonable cost and was delicious. The owner met us there and was a very kind, genuine person. She was very welcoming to my son and I. We will stay again when we are in the area.

  • The room was so cozy, clean and comfortable. It was nice meeting the other guests, and talking about our trip around the area. Breakfast was delicious! I really enjoyed my time here.

  • EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY WAY. The house is so unique and it really is a historical wonder. All of the antiques and special touches make you feel like you took a step back in time but with all of the current amenities. Stacy was so gracious and willing to assist you with any needs. I give my highest recommendation

  • It was a great place I wish it had air conditioning, but it was very quaint. Great place to stay

  • You have to stay here, Stacy is a gracious host. Her home is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The bed was-- oh my gosh --comfortable. (This is really important to me.) Stacy had a map ready for us sharing, directions, points of interest, etc. It really made our trip to Hell's Canyon much less stressful, everything went off without a hitch. The points of interest she suggested were a perfect fit. We would love to stay with her again.

  • We had a very nice stay at the Mays Place. We thoroughly enjoyed Elgin, and found the Mays Place nice and comfortable. Stacy was very helpful and a great host.

  • Stacy is a sweetheart and made all of us feel welcome. The house is an amazing place - a antique museum within itself. The rooms were very comfortable with nice beds & linens. Even when you had to use the bathroom at the other end of the house in the middle of the night - it was such a treat just to walk through it! A very lovely and interesting home. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • It's so great to stay in a place where there's such pride in ownership. Besides it being a pretty amazing house, Stacy is a wonderful host. We rented the entire place, and it was delightful. She made us a great breakfast before we started a long bike ride, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her love for the house is palpable, and it comes through in her hospitality. I can't wait until the next opportunity to stay at the Mays Place.

  • Stacy is super responsive to emails and phone calls. Was right there to great us when we pulled in to town. Gave us a great tour of the house and history lesson too. The vintage home is in spectacular shape, very well built and very cozy. Everyone slept well on the comfy beds and the home is full of contemporary amenities to make it home. Within walking distance to literally everything in town. Loved our stay, and will be coming back for another.

  • The Mays B&B is a great historic house in Elgin, which has many unique and interesting antiques throughout the house. We stayed here for just one night while attending a wedding in Summerville, which was only a short 15 minute drive away from Elgin. The location was perfect for our family and we were able to put 3 adult couples plus an 18-year old easily in the house... with room to spare. My father and mother were along for for this trip and they were able to easily use one of the downstair's bedrooms (the one with the ensuite). His mobility is a little limited (cane, no wheelchair) and there were no stairs that were too difficult to navigate. This was one of our key selection criteria (along with the location) for this stay. Stacy and Dick were great hosts, although Stacy was a little under the weather and we didn't meet her. But Dick came over and helped make sure everything was in order at our arrival. They accommodated some special requests which were much appreciated. We did walk into the Cowboys and Angels restaurant on the Main Street in Elgin for breakfast the next morning. It was only a couple of blocks. Very good food and great value (something you can get used to in Eastern Oregon). Thanks for the memorable stay.

Elgin is a quite friendly town centered in the beautiful Grande Ronde valley. Year round activities are close by. A seasonal pool is an easy one block walk. Parks, train rides, Opera House, dining and local shopping is within 2 blocks.
  • It was great staying at this place, a must if you are traveling to Eastern Oregon.

  • We had another great night staying here. I can't say enough about how wonderful it is staying here. So quiet and so convenient. Thanks so much Stacy for always being so accommodating!

  • Stacy's warm hospitality combined with the cool mountain air of the Grand Ronde Valley are an unbeatable combination! The May's place is packed with personality, history, charm and impeccably well cared for by host Stacy. I was a last minute scheduler and Stacy was able to offer more than one lodging option at May's. Elgin is a strategic location in the Valley affording short drives along the Wallawa River too visit Enterprise and Joseph and offers one of the best values in lodging I have experienced. I would stay again and highly recommend May's place. I stayed in more than one room. All the beds are comfortable and rooms furnished with interesting antiques, many of which are for sale. Stacy is an impeccable housekeeper and a great breakfast chef! She's engaging and fun to talk with and enjoys her guests making them feel so very welcome.

  • Stacy is a delightfully friendly and thoughtful hostess. The house is a BEAUTIFUL Victorian Western gem, full of fascinating antiques. Beds were super comfortable. If you need a bathroom on the same floor as your bedroom then be sure to get a ground floor room. The small town of Elgin is within an easy drive of gorgeous mountains and rolling wheat field country.

    Joy2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the house. It's exactly as Stacy describes it. I felt comfortable and will definitely be back to visit again! The town is awesome too. People are very friendly.

  • Beautiful Victorian home built in the 1890's. House is fully furnished with antiques which contributes to the atmosphere. If your looking for accommodations for La Grande and they are booked up I suggest May'si Place in Elgin. It's not far from La Grande and well worth staying.
