  • Amazing location! Lots of space in the Airbnb. Quick and very helpful responses from the host. Lots of things to do in the winter time. The only thing is in the wintertime pack a heater for the downstairs bedrooms if you’re someone like me that gets cold very easily. Overall 10 out of 10.

  • My family had a fantastic stay over the holidays. The location right on the lake was excellent, the home was spacious and well-equipped, and Ethan was a wonderful and accommodating host.

    Lindsay2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ethan was a fabulous host. He responded to questions extremely quickly and was a very gracious host. Kitchen was well equipped. We came in December and fortunately the lake was frozen over! I’m sure his place is even more incredible in the summer! Right by the lake yet short drive to everything you might need (eg Walmart, McD’s, Tims, etc). You won’t be disappointed staying at his place!

  • Besides the stunning scenery where the property is located, we chose Norman's hose because is 1h30 drive from Toronto. Norman's place is absolutely beautiful. The property has everything you'd need for your getaway; from pots, cutlery, coffee machine and mugs to apple TV and Xbox for the rainy days. The access to the water is using the stairs attached to the dock. The water is too shallow to jump from the dock. We would have loved to have some kayaks to get around Lake Simcoe. There's a convenience store 5 min drive from the house with everything you might need and more. The first night we went down to the dock and laid down to watch the stars and we weren't disappointed as it was a stunning view. The mornings with a coffee watching the sunrise from the dock were also beautiful. Special thanks to Norman who has been answering a thousand questions in a timely manner. I will recommend to stay at Norman's place to anyone looking for a getaway near the city.

  • Dan and Sarah’s place is an amazing spot if you’re looking to get out of the city with friends or family! This space is unique and absolutely beautiful. Sarah brought us a lovely breakfast in the morning. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you!!

  • Such a beautiful space - we all said wow as soon as we walked in. The photos are great, but it's hard to do the space justice. Very thoughtful hosts, we loved the breakfast in the mornings. We had a wonderful weekend stay.

  • Beautiful, unique location!

    Catherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible space! The attention to detail within Dan & Sarah's place is nothing short of exceptional. We stayed for a few days to celebrate a birthday and were blown away once setting eyes on this incredible space. The church has everything you will need and then some. I found myself time and again staring at all the original pieces of architecture that were maintained, from the exposed trusses to the stained glass, to the beautiful flooring. There is plenty to do within a short drive. Lindsay is 20 minutes away and has all the amenities you may need. I recommend 'The Pie-Eyed Monk' for dinner, wonderful drinks and stellar pizza! The Ken Reid Conservation Area is also about 15 minutes away and offers some fantastic hiking options with multiple types of terrain. One of the most unique spaces I have had the pleasure to stay at. Highly recommended!

    Mark2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a super cool amazing space! Every corner came with a new surprise to find. The rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was state of the art - we absolutely loved cooking in it! Sarah was very communicative and the breakfast provided was delicious and plentiful! I would highly recommend staying here! :)

    Jurenda2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This space is absolutely stunning. A friend and I hosted a small day yoga retreat here. It was the perfect spot for us to connect, share and love. It definitely has an energy and feel that you can't get in many places. Sarah and Dan ensured we had everything we needed both before hand and throughout the entire day. The communication and hospitality were OUTSTANDING! Dan even led us on a local hike the area. Thank you, cannot wait to come back!

    Courtney2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful and a lovely escape for my group of friends. Comfy, cozy, amazing surroundings ....we felt instantly relaxed. Sarah was so helpful and thoughtful and made us delicious breakfasts! 10/10 would recommend!

    Talya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd time staying here and once again we were blown away by the experience. My wife and I got married here 1 year ago and came back for our anniversary with our baby. Sarah set up a play area for our infant and also a playard / crib in the bedroom so we didn't even have to bring much. They even provided baby food along with our breakfast that she woke up early to prepare. This was a very memorable 1 year anniversary for us.

  • The location was great! We've saved this place and sent this listing to our friends and family. The neighbourhood was really friendly. It felt private while being close to major roads and places of commerce.

  • My family and I spent 4 nights here over Christmas and it was brilliant! The property was very clean, spacious and had lots of cooking equipment for our Christmas dinner. The decking out the back and the hot tub(s) were amazing! The river had frozen over and the sunsets were beautiful. I'd certainly recommend this stay to anybody - I can imagine it being just as nice in summer.

    Antonia2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy’s cottage was clean, spacious, well-equipped, and in a great location. Wendy, herself, was always responsive through Airbnb’s “private” messaging service.

    Omid2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice and cozy spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would stay again. Wendy always replied promptly and ensured we were taken care of. Our favourite feature: the awesome hottub - great for all seasons.

    Phillip2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and beautiful outdoor space. This would be an amazing place to stay in the summer. The main floor living and kitchen was slightly smaller than we anticipated. The double hot tub was amazing in the cold weather and the fire pit as well. Basement is finished with 2 bedrooms. The bathroom on the main floor has heated floors which is a nice touch. Just some notes: only mirrors are in the washroom (no full length),bring extra paper towel and the stove was a little slow. But overall a great place for a getaway not too far from the city.

    Ruslan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good place to stay, 2 jacuzzis is really useful and convenient. I recommend this place for sure ! A bigger table is available downstairs, so useful as well if we are more than 6. Otherwise, everything was perfect, Wendy is really available and answers my question and concerns easily ! Thank you

  • We came in December and really enjoyed our weekend here! The place was clearly prepared for us with a radio playing nice music and the heat turned up in all bedrooms. All of our questions were addressed in written instructions on site. Everything was clean. the number of pots and dishes was more than enough for our group of 7 adults. The movie collection was a nice surprise! Water from the tap was always good pressure and hot (in case anyone is concerned). The fireplace was easy to manage. Walking outside was magical. It is so quiet!!! Overall it was a great experience. I hope to be back soon!

    Anna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jake and Chantal have a great place at a very beautiful island. I faced a problem with the living room heater and as it was cold we had to face some issues.

  • Lovely space! Easy check in, beautiful rock beach nearby. Quiet and serene. Easy communication with host and clear directions. :)

    Nicole2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great place! The house is spacious and well equipped. The beach is two minutes away from the lake, water shoes recommend! A just beautiful shore! We had a workshop with Jake, made dreamcatchers, discovered more about the medicine of nature, played drums and learned the strong women song. A unique experience which gives you a glance into a different culture and history of Canada. Great for the whole family. We were prepared for mosquito invasions but nearly had none (guess End of August is a good time:0). We had an extraordinary time, explored the island, saw see eagles, bats, many frogs and butterflies and beautiful Stars at night. A place to calm down and find yourself.

  • Cute spot for a couples getaway weekend Close to local trails and the waterfront, and the private hot tub is the perfect way to cap off a day

    Ryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very cute and Tatiana was very quick to respond with any questions. We had a nice hot tub in the morning and went to go tubing at the nearby ROC. Perfect place for a girls night.

    Crystal2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time here at Tatiana’s place! It was quiet, very private and very clean. It’s a great little spot if you just need some downtime. The internet worked great, there was lots of options on the TV, and there were your basic amenities. We enjoyed all the extra blankets and towels. The fireplace was perfect as it added a little extra warmth. Unfortunately we didn’t get to use the hot tub as we didn’t know we needed to communicate with Tatiana first about setting the hot tub to a hotter temperature before arriving. Thus, it was only at 27’C when we arrived (at 7pm) and was no where near ready at 10pm when we wanted to go in. I would definitely stay here again, we hope to be back in the summer to enjoy the beaches that are near by.

    Katt2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much! It was a cozy and clean space, and loved the view. We didn’t get opportunity to use hot tub but that was a nice plus. The bathroom is small so a bit hard to manoeuvre around but otherwise the space was exactly what we needed!

    Lenore2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cozy place for a couple if you're looking to spend a night in Georgina. The hot tub is nice if you want to unwind and relax.

    Umar2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful space for a little getaway. The hot tub works great and the privacy enclosure ensures it can be enjoyed no matter the weather. Tatiana was also very quick to make sure our stay was as relaxing and enjoyable.

    Jeff2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Easy to check in, great communication from the host, nice and clean and the hot tub was awesome too.

  • The trailer has been expanded into something more like a cottage. The large screened in patio with table, the additional outdoor screened seating area and the yard with large firepit were part of what made this an extra good place to stay. It was a perfect fall weekend. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a "glamping" experience. Red squirrels and chipmunks are around to keep you company. So many other details made this an exceptional place to stay. The radio has a speaker outside which was nice. The bed was extra comfortable. Everything was very clean. The hosts also left an array of snacks which was very generous of them. Communication with the hosts was exceptional. They were easy to reach when needed and quick to respond. I only stayed for a single night but will stay here again when I have time to book a full weekend.

  • Stayed for several nights and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Close to the lake and the grocery store isn't too far. Place was clean and a joy to relax in. The host, Sandra, was very responsive and was available for anything we needed!

    Anton2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I just got back from a week at Sandra and Alex’s lovely guest house. I wanted a quiet place free of distractions for a solo writer’s retreat, and this place was perfect! The kitchen is lovely and well-equipped, so I could make all my own meals (although, there is no microwave, so don’t pack frozen dinners!). I loved the little coffee percolator just like Nona used to have, and I used it a lot. I also brought my own fire logs and enjoyed a couple cozy fires. The twin beds might not be conducive to a romantic couple’s getaway, but it was perfect for my purposes. The mattress and pillows were very comfy. I loved the lounger in the corner, and all the little porcelain knickknacks added an antique charm to the bedroom. There is no TV (as they are up front about in the description), but the wi-fi works well, so I could watch a video on my laptop if I needed a break from writing. And there isn’t much within walking distance, but a 25 minute walk took me to a charming general store where I could restock the basics (toilet paper, wine, and home-made butter tarts — what more does a girl need?). By the end of the week, I was being so productive that I asked to extend my stay an extra night, and Sandra was very happy to accommodate. So I finished an entire revision of my manuscript! Thank you so much! I’ll be back when I start book two :)

This building was built in the 19th century and reflects 19th century character including some shifting. The walls are a foot thick. The apartment is a mix of modern touches with antique charm. The bedroom features antique furniture while the living room features modern furniture.
Woodville was originally know as Irish Corners in the late 19th century, the name of the town was changed to Woodville after the completion of the post office under postmaster John Morrison. In 1871 the Toronto and Nipissing Railway was built through the flourishing settlement and in 1878 Woodville became a police village. Woodville had a town hall, lock-up, grist-mill, two foundries, a cheese factory, planing mill and sash and door factory, a number of dry goods stores, mechanics' shops, and three hotels. It also had its own brick school house, with two teachers, and two churches – one Presbyterian, the other Methodist. Today, the cheese factory, rail station, gristmill, mechanics shops, and hotels have all been shut down. This property is one of the original hotels built in the nineteenth century. It was once a restaurant with the original restaurant sign still affixed to the structure. Woodville now is home to one dinner style restaurant, one variety stores, a pizza parlour, LCBO, post office, mechanics shop, a curling rink and arena, two baseball diamonds and two parks with children’s play structures. There is a lovely trail for a light hike or bike ride. The beach is a ten minute drive north to Beaverton.

  • Wonderful view and dock! Walter was quick with responses and cottage was exactly as advertised. Great place for the pups! Nice neighbours too!

    Courtney2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to spend the last long weekend of the summer (Aug 31 - Sept 2, 2019). The place was just as advertised, much bigger than anticipated, and a complete WIN. The living room was cozy and we were able to watch some movies on a rain day via their DVD player. Although the BBQ was smaller than we were used to, we cooked 99% of our food on it and it worked without a hitch! The sleeping areas were surprisingly comfortable and all 4 of us were able to take satisfying showers. As for the property, breathtaking. The dock gave the most beautiful views, especially during the sunrises. The fire pit/chairs made for great evening conversations and s'mores over the fire. The location of the space was also far enough to feel "away" but close enough to grocery stores/gas stations/civilization that it was a max 10-15 minute drive if you absolutely needed anything. The host was VERY responsive and accommodating to any/all questions and responded quite quickly. Such a nice person! My 3 friends and I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem in the near future!

  • Myself and my partner had a real nice stay at this cottage. Unfortunately we had one day of bad weather, but the cottage space itself is lovely for sitting in during those days. One thing to note is that there is a DVD player which I don’t think is in the listing, so if you’re thinking of going to the cottage then do take a couple movies for those rainy days (there is a selection of movies on site however!). It is not possible to swim in the lake directly from the dock, however the boat provided does provide the ability to get out to deeper water and take a swim! The fire pit and outside space is fantastic, with relative privacy from the neighbouring cottages. The host was quick to respond to our queries before our arrival and was friendly at all times.

Private apartment in the lower level of ranch-style bungalow on a 10-acre, quiet country estate, located 45 minutes north of Toronto. Amazing couples or family get-away from the city! Enjoy the pond and the property, explore surrounding area, check out the local farms, farmers markets, and more! **Pool will be opened in late May and will be available for guest use. Note: it is solar heated and is generally quite cool until mid-June depending on the weather. Please follow the posted rules**
The 1,500 square foot apartment that is in the lower-level of our family home, features a full kitchen for guest use (oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker with coffee/tea pods, salt/pepper/oil, refrigerator, dishwasher, all cutlery, dishware, glasses, mugs, frying pans and pots that guests can use), high top table and stools for dining, billiard table, family room with television for Xbox which doubles as a DVD player, large master bedroom with king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom, 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds, large main full bathroom, 3-season enclosed porch, and pool (please follow the posted rules)
While our area is considered Zephyr, we are closer to Mount Albert which is only 5 minutes west of our house. Newmarket is 20 minutes west and Uxbridge is 15 minutes southeast. The best part is we are only 45-60 minutes north of Toronto! Therefore, we have the best of both worlds - quiet natural surrounding nestled in a maple sugar bush, and accessibility to a wide variety of shopping, tourist attractions, and entertainment!!
  • Really good house It was 100 times better than our expectations

  • A beautiful and comfortable apartment in a gorgeous area not far from town! We stayed as a last minute stop on a trip from Ottawa and I'm super happy we chose this one! This place really had anything you could need, and wonderful recommendations for local restaurants and things to do! It's very warm and comfortable in the winter, but I would love to stay in the warmer months too!

  • This is a small cozy place and very clean

    Reza2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • It is a small place for 4 people but it is very warm and cozy. The owner Candace is very kind and always willing to solve a problem. We were 40 days and had a great time. You have all the services that work well. In relation to quality cost It is correct. The place where it is located is very nice and peaceful. And if you do not have a car rental 400 meters away, you have access to several bus lines. In short, it is a good place to rent.

    Patricia2020-02-01T00:00:00Z

This unique boathouse suite is on Lake Simcoe in the Beaverton Harbour. It includes a full bathroom, queen bed, love seat/ sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped or Barney's is just steps away. Minutes to downtown dining, LCBO, banking and pharmacy. There is beachfront for swimming and fishing off the pier. Splash pad, playground, and shaded picnic tables at the park. Boat launch & transient slips are available. To end a perfect day walk the pier and watch the sunset over Thor Island.
Over night parking is allowed in front of the boat house only. There is enough space for two cars. Boat trailers must be parked in overflow parking and will require a parking pass from the host to display in the vehicle for over night parking.
Located right in the Beaverton harbour , there is a playground including picnic tables and a splash pad fir the little ones to enjoy right on sight , along with a sandy beach and of course the harbour pier . It also offers transient docking if you choose to bring your boat , and there is a launch right in the harbour .. walking distance to liquor store and other conveniences in the small town of Beaverton , this is a great place to unwind and enjoy summer endeavours at lake simcoe .
  • This is a great little place for a quick stay near Lake Simcoe. Malcolm is a great host that is very open about any shortcomings in the rental, which were very few and no big deal for us. I stayed with my two young sons and the accommodations were good for us. It is one large room (studio) with a bed and a loveseat pullout bed. I feel like the description and pictures don’t reflect that but either way, for a party of three it was perfect. Very close to town and very close to ice fishing access. We would definitely stay there again and plan on exploring more of Malcolms properties for our next stay.

    Gerald2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Malcolm's boathouse was very clean (important to me), had just about everything you could possibly need, TV Netflix was easy to figure out, plenty of lighting, comfy bed, and very close to the water and pier. Malcolm also is very available, just a call away, if you have any questions.

    Barbara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • Such a cozy little place in a great location. I would like to return in the summer season, but if you are looking for a quiet getaway during the winter months this is a great spot! Malcolm was a great host and very accommodating. I would not hesitate to stay again.

    Amente2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Malcolm’s place was wonderful. It’s a nice cozy boathouse will all the amenities you could need . The harbour and pier is a minute walk away and town is about 10 min walk . Malcolm was very helpful and responsive with any questions or concerns we had . I highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway, as we would probably come back again soon .

  • We loved Tina's little cottage, it was a warm cozy getaway from the city for the weekend!

    Bridgette2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnieview was a great destination that is not too far from the city but far enough to be quiet and allow for a relaxing stay. The cottage itself is nicely set up and cozy. We were very happy with our stay there and will happily stay there again!

    Kayla2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage exceeded my expectations. The pictures don't do it justice. The house was very modern and decorated so nicely. The fireplace was great at night as it got a little chilly. The location is perfect as we only had an 8 minute drive to Virgina Beach where we went ice fishing everyday. Only thing I would suggest is bring your own toilet paper and salt and pepper! We had to make a trip as soon as we arrived to grab these items. Would definitely book again!

  • Such a great place - spotlessly clean, really spacious, great location, easy to find, everything we could need including a fully stocked kitchen! We were 4 adults and a toddler and it was more than enough room for all of us. A very short drive to the lake and also great recommendations for places to visit and where to eat nearby. We will hopefully be back! Lindsey was also really quick with communication and it was easy to check in.

    Sarah2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and a especially nice kitchen. Close walk to the water and really easy check in. Would highly reccomend.

  • We had such a wonderful time at the cottage. Lots of space to play in the backyard and lots to do in the area. House was clean and stocked with supplies. Comfy beds and the activity basket was a nice touch. My family and I had a fun fishing, playing at the park and enjoying a nice campfire. We will definitely be back.

    Ashley2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a perfect little get away in a quiet, very low traffic neighbourhood. Backyard was very private and nicely shaded. The house was immaculately clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. There was a basket of games and art stuff there, which was so nice. One thing to be aware of is the cottage has softened water, so bring some water with you if you're not used to the taste. Lots of places to sit and hang out inside and out - the sun room is really cozy, and so is the livingroom. Perfect for 1 or 2 couples.

    Laur2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Lindsey's! The cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches and an awesome, fully stocked kitchen that made preparing and cooking meals for our picky toddler such a breeze. We were also pleasantly surprised by the watermelon that Lindsey thoughtfully left for us to enjoy! We loved the proximity to the waterfront and playgrounds -- great if you've got little ones. Our daughter especially enjoyed wading in the water at the little beach (about a 5 minute walk from the cottage) and swinging on the long tree swing overlooking the lake. The cottage is also a short drive to Sibbald Point, which has a larger beach. Lindsey was very hospitable and quick to respond to all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

  • as another guest noted, hesitant to share great review as we'd love to be able to keep this one our secret... regardless... idyllic setting. wonderful retreat from the city. super attentive and responsive hosts who availed amenities to us without hesitation. great getaway within an hour from the tdot. you will love the turtles, muskrat, frogs, kingfisher, ducks, dragonflies, the beautiful scenery and local options like golf, biking/hiking trails, treetop trekking, farmers' market, skatepark, and various (small) towns all within 10-20mins drive. a real gem.

  • Private rural cottage with a pond and personal use beach. Idyllic setting for reading and relaxing under the giant willow tree. Highly recommended weekend getaway.

    Cathy2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Fawk's Nest is in such a beautiful location. My kids and I were visiting the area for a wedding at the country club right behind the property. It was such a perfect location for that. It was so nice to not have to drive too far after a 12 hour day of preparing and attending the wedding. The main road is a short drive and has restaurants, fast food, fuel, etc. The property itself is perfect. It is so quiet and relaxing. The pond right behind the cottage makes it feel like an oasis. As an Airbnb superhost myself, I know what I should expect, and Sheila has really outdone herself!

    Colleen2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • DON'T GO HERE... ugh, fine! I'm lying, purely being selfish in the hopes that I can keep this gem all to myself. I absolutely LOVED everything about the cottage at Fawks Nest. From the quick trip (1 hour door-to-door from central Toronto) to the beautiful pond with sandy beach. But nothing compares to the hospitality that Sheila showed us. She was so easy to communicate with and went above and beyond, waaaaayyy beyond to ensure that not only were we comfortable, but that we had a great time. The cottage was spotless and well stocked. When I asked her prior to arriving what she suggested other than the usual, she said that we were only to bring what we wanted to eat (although there are many options just a 5min drive away!) and what we wanted to wear. And that is exactly all we needed. When she met my 2 year old she dug out a little pool for her exclusive use and it was used daily! I can't say enough about this wonderful place and this fantastic person! Thank you so much for making our trip so special; we cannot wait to be back again really, really soon!

    Marisol2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • I was wondering what is a 5 star host? Now i know thanks to Sheila. The place is so quite close to Toronto but it doesn't feel this way. Felt like we were somewhere far far away. Sheila was amazing replying on every inquiry in a second and offering some amenities to our family we had no idea this place had. Beautiful place, clean and cozy, we would definitely come back. Sheila thank you so so much for being so amazing. Truly Canadian hospitality!:)

    Alec2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My previous review for Sheila’s place says it all. It’s a wonderful spot. So quiet and tranquil, right next to a golf course with lots of green space and walking trails, yet only a two minute drive into town. Uxbridge has an abundance of nice restaurants and all the amenities you will need for a short or long stay in the area. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. Sheila’s hospitality is above and beyond. Tom and family.

    Tom2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t say enough good things about Sheila’s cottage getaway. We were in the process of moving to the area but needed a place to stay before our new home purchase closed. The cottage was fantastic. Sheila had just completed a renovation and it features a stylish and updated kitchen with all the amenities you need. High speed internet and Satellite TV keep you connected to the real world. The cottage has a charm that makes this a relaxing and tranquil place to be. I enjoyed arriving home after work each day and immediately felt I was on vacation. You have your own private pond right outside your door. Ducks and geese are frequent visitors and lots of song birds. The property is huge with trails to explore and then minutes from extensive walking and biking trails in the region. Uxbridge itself is a very charming town that’s growing on us with each passing day. Beware of Teddy. The loveable and gentle poodle will INSIST on getting a head rub. Sheila and her family are super friendly and very responsive to anything you may need. The barn is another bonus space that is a real gem. Rustic and spacious and just an all round cool place to hang out. While we’re looking forward to our new home, we’re going to miss this place. Highly recommend it to anyone for a few days getaway or longer.

  • I couldn’t have been more satisfied with our stay at Fawks Nest. The photos really didn’t do justice to the charming country cottage and the beautiful grounds. The hosts, Sheila and Tom (and Teddy the poodle!), were so gracious and their passion for country life was infectious. Not a detail was missed in the cottage - every corner was spotless and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. Not sure if it was the country air or the comfy beds, but we all slept wonderfully. The best part may have been waking up and having coffee in the sunroom overlooking the pond, complete with a family of ducks. There was even a little beach that would have been perfect for our youngster – we’ll have to return in the summer for that (and the golf nearby at Wooden Sticks, says my husband). We wandered the forest trails on the property and popped into the lovely nearby town of Uxbridge for lunch and some window shopping. This was SUCH a pleasant surprise to find for a last minute escape from the city, and we can’t wait to return for a full week in the summer. Thank you Sheila and Tom!

Secluded lake front cottage on Georgina Island. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing.
Summer is great for families and fishing trips.
Very quiet and private location. Noise bylaw in place (quiet at 11pm)-police will come by.
  • We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was absolutely fantastic. Perfect location. Very private, although it was close with a camp ground, but we couldn’t recognize it. Gorgeous. It was sparkling clean. Perfect size for our family. Definitely will come back again. We had an issue with the door lock, that could be because of me, Chris came quickly to get us in and solved the issue. Amazing experience for our family.

  • My Fiance, Dog and I had a wonderful stay. There are lots of activities to do such as kayaking, biking, boccie ball, lawn darts and plenty of board games. Carolynne is very quick to respond to any inquiries, I definitely recommend this listing as a must visit!

  • I wish I could be back there now! A true diamond in the rough! My family and I truly had the relaxed week away that we needed, having small children I wasn’t sure how things would go, we all had such a nice summer holiday I cant wait to book again next summer!

  • This was our second summer at Carolynne's place and it was just as fantastic this year as it was last year. A great fit for a family - quiet, huge shady yard and warm, shallow water. Carolynne is a great host!

  • My sister and niece visiting from France, my partner and I had a blast here. It is a cozy house with everything functional, very spacious for 4, a big garden with many tables and chairs, so we could have every meal in a different spot each time ;). Lots of mosquitoes, but they don't get into the house at all. Privacy was great, and Carolynne was very quick to respond always, including the first night after 9 PM when we could not figure out how to connect the DVD player. They offered to come and fix in the morning which was very appreciated, and not necessary eventually. All we needed to cook was included, as well as bathroom products, lots of indoors and outdoors games, dvd's, multiple canoes kayaks and life jackets, firewood. Beds are okay comfy, no beddings but pillows provided. We almost ran out of drinking water but they have a lot to use, just in case. They have bikes that work well but that we didn't have time to use. Nothing was open on the island, not even the ice cream store, so just make sure you bring everything. Given price, location and owner's reliability and availability, highly recommended.

  • Nice cozy cottage! The space was very clean and had everything we needed. Having the screened in porch was great to sit outside and be protected from mosquitoes. The water was clean and warm, it’s shallow off the dock so we couldn’t jump in but you can wade in with water shoes. Even though it’s close to the camp it was pretty quiet and we didn’t hear anything at night. Overall it’s a great place to stay!

  • A positive experience from beginning to end. Carolynne was quick to respond to enquiries, and communication with her was easy. We were delighted to find that the cottage and property were exactly as advertised: well-maintained, clean, and cosy. We would be happy to visit again. One of our nicest times away.

  • Perfect for a weekend getaway from Toronto - it was an hour and a half door to door, ferry ride included. Very private property off from the main road with private water access and a dock for a boat. Great fishing on the lake, and the water was warm and clear. Kayaks, canoe, bikes, lawn games, board games and lots more were provided. We saw tons of beautiful great blue herons, osprey and other birds. No wifi, but who needs it? Carolynne was really easy to communicate with & was a great host. There's a family campground just next door but with all the large tree cover on the property we hardly knew they were there - one night some folks were a bit loud but from the bedrooms with fans on we couldn't hear them anyway, and the campground had a convenience store that sold fishing bait, so we benefitted from its close proximity. :)

  • This is a very beautiful place, neat and beautiful, everything you need is available, and the landlord responded in a timely manner, afraid that the room was not heated enough, and was equipped with a heater. Although the water heater failed on the first day, Installed new, all in all it was a wonderful experience.

  • This is a great place to stay if you are in Newmarket area. All you need is provided. Going this route saved me quite a bit of money compared to staying in a hotel. Even better was that it was quieter than a hotel which is what I was looking for. It was close to where I needed to be for work and no issues with parking too. I would definitely stay here again. Very pleased with this choice!
