Lovely, newly renovated cottage in the heart of wine country. Great backyard within walking distance to beautiful hikes and a great traditional English pub.
Great decor
Across the street from restaurant, grocery store and wine tasting room
  • We had a great stay at Jennifer's home! The house is adorable and in the perfect location to access restaurants, wineries, and Salamander (if you're a spa person!). Fit 4 of us very comfortably, and the suggestion book they left was perfect. We would have taken a star off as we had a lot of power issues with outlets, which made using WiFi, the TV, and microwave difficult, but Jennifer and Frederico were incredibly responsive. They even planned to drive out to the home from DC to try to resolve the issue on Friday night during rush hour. We had overhead lights and heat, and assured them we were going to be fine; but the hospitality and offer kept our stay at 5 stars. Would love to stay at the home again!

  • This home is situated right in town, across from a wonderful restaurant and just down the street from a beautiful l, historic church. It is bright and airy and full of charm. Jennifer and her husband were very communicative when we had a few questions and also responded right away to a heating issue we had. We highly recommend this home!

  • Jennifer have some amazing recommendations that were so glad we listened to! We brought our 6 month old doodle and he loved the yard and being able to get come energy out. The tavern across the street is a must and there’s a new market that has such delicious food and goodies. We had a great time and the location we perfect!

  • Jennifer's home is as cute as a button! The owners retreat is dreamy with its 2 walls of windows - we woke up to spectacular sunrises each morning. We also loved the daybed area and the fenced in back yard was perfect for our high energy dog! We loved the tavern across the street and walking trails behind the Episcopal church. We'd definitely stay again!

  • We loved our stay at Jennifer’s cute Upperville house! It’s stylish and clean - was perfect for our weekend of hiking Sky Meadows and enjoying the restaurants of Middleburg. We have a small dog, and this house was perfect because it has a fenced yard and nice outdoor space with Adirondack chairs and a dining table. Jennifer was very responsive and helpful - she is definitely a Super Host and we hope to be back again soon!

  • Jennifer's vacation home is truly lovely. We spent a low key weekend wine tasting and relaxing in front of the living room fireplace. The location is perfect as it allowed us to walk across the street to the pub and to the charming wine tasting shop. Thank you Jennifer!

Our mountain retreat is close to the Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River, Appalachian Trail, Front Royal and Highway 66. You’ll love the coziness, location, nature and the tranquility. This large space is good for writers, solo adventurers and business travelers.
Our room is spacious and quiet. There is a desk, microwave, refrigerator, futon and coffee table to make you feel comfortable. Storage includes a wardrobe, utility closet, 2 night stands and 2 small rolling cabinets.
The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood on Apple Mountain. There are some steep inclines/declines getting to/from our house to the main road. All of these roads are paved and are easy to traverse. Our community has excellent snow removal if you are planning a winter stay. The last stretch of road leading to our house is gravel and level, as is our driveway which is paved. The Apple House Restaurant is 5 minutes away as are 2 gas stations and a 7-11. It is less than 10 minutes to Front Royal where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants and laundry mats. Our close proximity to 66 makes it easy to get to Winchester or Gainesville. The Shenandoah River and Appalachian Trail are minutes away. The Shenandoah National Park is 15 minutes away. There are also wineries and orchards 10 minutes away. In short, this where people living in the DC area come to recreate.
  • Mark and Arlene are great hosts. Everything was clean and the house is in a private neighborhood. The room was very comfortable and the shower has hot water. The little extras like the toaster/coffee maker/griddle and the mini fridge only add to the allure of this private mountain apartment. Excellent!

  • Great SPLACE. Great room and peaceful. Location secluded, but near highway!

    Denise2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Arlene are great hosts. They even put up black out curtains for this night shift nurse; very thoughtful and greatly appreciated. Their home is beautiful and centrally located to most of the hospitals; about 30-35 minutes. I would stay again should I find myself back in the area.

    Arlene2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, private, mountain top living. Excellent sunset views. Arlene & Mark are fun, friendly, accomodating hosts. I look forward to a future stay. 💙

    Melinda2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculately clean! The entry is very private with a beautiful view of the woods and mountain range. The bed is extremely comfortable; I was able to work nights and sleep peacefully during the day even with close access to the freeway. Mark and Arlene are wonderful hosts and will respond quickly to any questions you may have. Thanks for the great stay!!

    Laura2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The room is quiet, clean, and comfortable...perfect.

    Piper2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Arlene and Mark have been nothing short of truly amazing. This was my first long term stay with Airbnb and I am so glad I got Mark and his wife Arlene as my hosts. From day one they were so accommodating to me, checked on me, communicated so well with me, and have truly made me feel as though I had a home away from home. I can't thank them enough for everything. A great example of their kindness and heart was when there was someone who wanted to stay about 2 weeks longer than me, but check in about 3 days later than me and I had just arrived in town (Winchester) on a Sunday for work to build a Solar PV Farm and I didn't have a place to stay. Mark and Arlene approved me to stay instead as I was already in town and I didn't have a place to stay. They didn't want to leave me without a home and took care of me when they could have opted to take the other guest as they wanted to stay longer and would have made more money. Truly blessed to have come across such great heart felt people and hosts. I will definitely be recommending them if I ever know of anyone who is planning on staying in the area or if I ever return :) On specifics of the place, their home is beautiful and located in the mountains. I love my drive everyday to work because it is such a beautiful site to see the lush green trees and distant mountains as I drive down the mountain. The place you stay in is even better in person than the pictures show. It is really spacious and I love how there is a sliding door access on the side of the house that allows you private access to your room without disturbing anyone and there is a code to get in which is nice because it saves the trouble of potentially losing a key. The space is located at the bottom of the house and to the right of the garage which allows you all the privacy you want if that is what you are looking for. The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom is really nice, and the decorations in the room are beautiful as it illustrates artwork from different places they have traveled. You cannot go wrong with booking this place. Great heart warming and welcoming hosts, a great spacious place, and an outstanding value!!! Again, thank you Mark and Arlene for everything. My stay here will not be forgotten.

  • Bean's spot was the perfect place for our New Year's getaway :)

  • I can't say it enough... This place is a 5 Star!!! It's a one of a kind, one of my best airbnb experiences yet!!

  • Very nice, clean & comfortable. Perfect location for our festivities in Upperville.

    Amanda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a girls' weekend/hosted a bridal shower at the Lanham house and had the most wonderful time. Bean was very communicative about the house's layout and amenities, since I was planning the shower from out-of-state. The house is beautiful in pictures, but absolutely STUNNING in-person. The beds were so comfortable. There were plenty of towels & linens, plus a washer & dryer to use. There was coffee available in the fridge when we arrived. We got multiple compliments on the house from our guests. Hopefully, we can make our girls' weekend an annual event! 100% recommend!

    Emily2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bean's house was cozy and charming, plus full of fascinating history. The location is ideal for happenings in horse/wine country! Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

    Meghan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing time at Lanham house! Would definitely recommend it!

    Kristin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Lanham home is beautiful and makes for a very lovely and relaxing trip. Bean is a great host and had coffee and milk stocked, which was a thoughtful and much appreciated touch. The house is close to restaurants and wineries, and just what I needed for a weekend away. The reviews don’t do it justice. I hope to return again!

We are located in a quiet neighborhood in the middle of Loudoun County wine country. Our space is situated halfway between Purcellville and Middleburg offering many choices for restaurants, wineries, distilleries, breweries, the Appalachian Trail and other hiking, the Shenandoah River and a multitude of other outdoor activities. Or if you just want quiet time, you have access to our pond or your own private patio area with a grill and fire pit for those chilly evenings.
  • By far the best place to stay for my money. Country living and DC worklife!

    Peter2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • After more than a month of staying at Theresa's loft for work, I can say that everything was wonderful. My favorite moment was getting to watch their swan argue with visiting Canadian geese! While there I also saw an otter and dozens of deer out my window! This was by far my favorite stay while commuting to DC.

    Peter2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • When pigs fly was an amazing stay. We brought our two pups and were very comfortable with our stay. We had all the amenities we needed and the bed was comfortable. The property was gorgeous and centrally located to all that Loudon has to offer. Would stay again in the future!

  • Really enjoyed our stay. Theresa really went out of her way to make the place feel like home. She was quick to respond and gave us some really helpful tips for dinner and entertainment. We had plenty of privacy. The back patio was a great place to hang out and unwind. Our dog loved it as well. Highly recommend. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely look to book here again first.

  • Beautiful and clean home with a gorgeous backyard. Extremely relaxing. Mary is very quick to reply and answer any questions.

    Sandrita2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage! My husband and I were quite comfortable during our stay. As lovely as the house is I'd have to say that the back porch with its dining area and outside fireplace is really the standout feature of this property. The large back yard is private and lavishly landscaped. Even in early March, though not yet in bloom, it was stunning. The cottage itself is cozy but graciously proportioned with large windows and high ceilings. There was loads of space with just the two of us there. Lovely hunt country decor. The bathroom looks quite new and is gorgeous. The cottage heats quickly and well. We didn't cook, but the kitchen was certainly more than sufficient for our needs: there were wine glasses and a Keurig! Check-in was easy and communication good. We loved the proximity to the mountains and had a great day visiting the Virginia State Arboretum and Sky Meadows State Park.

    Kathleen2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's cottage is so quaint! The cottage is cosy with a fantastic back seating area and fire place. It's definitely a great place to stay if you want to explore Virginia's wine country!

  • Ups A Daisy Cottage is the perfect hunt country getaway. Well appointed, comfortable and immaculate. Every need while you are away from home in the most beautiful location Mary is very responsive and check in and out are seamless. I booked two extra days after staying five and didn't want to leave. Going back, soon!

    Cathy2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Mary’s place in Upperville. We wanted a night away from the city and this worked great. Easy distance to Middleburg and wonderfully close to hikes in Sky Meadows Park. The outdoor space was lovely and we enjoyed a night by the fire after our daughter went to bed. All in all a great stay. Also Mary has a well stocked kitchen which is always so helpful when traveling!

    Katherine2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is very charming and has everything you need for a night or even a week. The grounds and back porch will keep you coming back, and the fully stocked kitchen (no food of course, but lots of spices, coffee, tea, cooking oils, etc.) will make your stay a joy. This home is a perfect launching spot for any activity in the northern Piedmont area including hiking, visiting wineries, antiquing, VA Gold Cup, etc. And if you love horses, the equestrian theme throughout will impress you. We will be back!

    Graham2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mary has a lovely home conveniently located near Upperville attractions and the nearby towns of Paris and Middleburg. Great outdoor space and good common area, bedrooms and bathroom. Kitchen is slightly tight but expected for the area and we ate out mostly anyway. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautiful, beautiful cabin, with a breathtaking view. Tastefully furnished, cozy and very clean. John was an extremely gracious host and was very well versed on all there is to do in the area, no matter what your fancy. A truly jaw dropping experience.

    Jesse2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! John was a great host! The location was great as a getaway spot. Large bedroom and bath. It was very quiet up in the mountains. Would recommend for anyone looking for a great motorcycle getaway as well!

    Pete2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed in John's beautiful home 2 nights. We were hiking on the Appalachian Trail. So many wonderful aspects of our stay--John and his warm hospitality, his knowledge of the area and many other things, the bedroom space is large and spotless clean, the bed is comfy, house is quiet. We so enjoyed the egg breakfast, a surprise. Liked having a refridgerator in the room and a sitting area. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Cindy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay! John was attentive to details. His home was very clean and relaxing. We enjoyed the atmosphere and were able to see the sunrise from our room. John provided tips on local places to visit and was knowledge about the area. Great experience! Will visit again if we return to the area.

    Colton+Brienna2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location to stay. John provides us with a peaceful evening by the fire, a beautiful place to stay, and even made breakfast then we were off to the local wineries. Would definitely stay again!

    Kastille2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a magnificent home! John is so welcoming and genuinely enjoys sharing his home. And, even though it was a cold morning in February, it was so nice to enjoy my coffee on his back porch taking in the panoramic view and soaking up the warm sunshine. I didn't expect John to make us scrambled eggs (from his own chickens) and toast. We had a great breakfast and fun conversationwith John. It was hard to leave! Oh, and we loved Lilly, the dog and Buster, the cat.

    Victoria2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • John was an amazing host. His place is beautiful and the views are outstanding. He is proud of his chickens and he made me a great breakfast with his eggs from the chickens. I could of chatted with him all day. This a definite must stay if your visiting the area.

  • Mary’s home was lovely, clean, and comfortable ! We stayed here to attend a wedding in Middleburg and it was perfect for our group. Mary was super helpful when booking, offering to make another bedroom and bathroom available so that we would have more space to get ready. She was in communication days ahead of time and made sure that we had everything we needed for a great stay-there was even snacks to purchase in the kitchen! The day of, I had a few questions about the area and Mary was quick to respond. I would recommend this home and would stay here again myself. Thank you, Mary!

  • Mary and Brian were great host

    Debbie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay at Mary and Brian's house. It is conveniently located for much of what the area has to offer. All of the beds were comfortable, including the pullout sofa in the room next to the kitchen. My wife and I stayed in the master bedroom which is below the three upstairs bedrooms. We are light sleepers and it was noisy when people were walking around and showering upstairs. Other than that, great stay!

  • The *NEW* Luxury Mountain Chalet, Tiki Bar was lovely. The views are gorgeous, we had striking sunsets each evening. The area is very quiet and private, but easy drive to Winchester, Front Royal and other active areas. Logan was quick to respond prior to the trip as well as during our visit. Check-in and check-out were simple. This house would be great for a family or 2 - 3 couples. We loved the fireplace and the deck. The great room was cozy with the fire, and the downstairs great room has comfortable recliners and TV (plus the infamous Tiki bar). Highly recommend. We can't wait to go back, and bring our friends the next time.

    Molly2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place with so many relaxing vacation possibilities. In my case it is a personal retreat, a place to learn, to read, to write, to hike, and to enjoy the river. It has a huge outdoor space and a cozy fireplace inside. It does operate off of a WiFi hotspot so if you have specific streaming needs, I recommend sharing these with Evan before your arrival. Aside from that, the place is literally PERFECT!

The Hunt Country Cottage is located in the heart of Upperville Virginia, home to the nation’s oldest and most prestigious horse show. We bought the home as a getaway second home in 2005 and have spent the past year restoring and decorating the hunt box with loving care. The home has a standing seam metal roof, clapboard style siding, a stone foundation, cozy front porch and second floor dormer windows. The interior is painted with warm colors and accented by antique oak barn wood paneling and trim in the family room. The flooring is the original antique heart pine. The cottage is decorated as a traditional English Hunt Box, with equine art and memorabilia, lovely antiques, warm carpets on the heart pine floors, and high-end bed linens. Enjoy the outdoors from covered porches front and rear. Relax in the comfort of a fully-equipped modern house with a touch of our English heritage. The back yard is accented by a small stream where neighborhood song birds and hawks visit frequently. Enjoy fine dining and an old English pub across the street at the Hunter’s Head Tavern, a favorite destination for locals and visitors. The village of Upperville is peaceful, quiet, and friendly. Broad sidewalks make for an easy stroll through town or visit to the local shops. Sky meadows state park is a 10 minute drive to the west. The park provides regular events, hiking trails, camp sites, a stocked fishing pond, and access to the Appalachian Trail. Drive a little farther and enjoy nature's harvest at Stribling and Hartland Orchards. Our home is perfectly situated for equestrian activities. We are within 10 minutes of world class stables, polo fields, and steeple chase grounds. We also enjoy the convenience numerous wineries, excellent restaurants, Olde English pubs, and exquisite shops. The cottage is conveniently located 6 miles west of Middleburg, 50 miles West of DC, 5 miles from Sky Meadows State Park. A short 10-15 minute drive east or west takes you to a multitide of fine establishments. The Ashby Inn is located to the west in Paris. To the east is Middleburg with the Red Fox Inn, Salamander Resort, King Street Oyster Bar, Side Saddle Cafe, and Thaiverse, to name but a few. Keywords: hunt box, country cottage, steeplechase, polo, fox hunt, English pub, fine dining, horse show, blue ridge mountains, the plains

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dan's. He was communicative and friendly from the beginning, proactively taking the time to discuss check-in and recommendations for restaurants and activities. The house was very clean, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. The kitchen was nicely equipped for cooking, and the bottled drinking water and bottle of wine were such thoughtful touches. We enjoyed our trips out to local vineyards (thank you for the suggestions!) and restaurants. We would definitely recommend Dan's place to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Caitlin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Dan’s place. It was ideally located across the street from the Hunter’s Head Tavern and just down the street from a great wine tasting room, The Local Taste. The house was sparkling clean. There were a lot of thoughtful touches like great linens, comfortable beds, quaint Virginia decor, and well appointed kitchen. We would definitely stay again when in hunt country!

    Patricia2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dan’s home is in a great location for a wine tasting weekend. The house is perfect and has everything you need. Very clean, plenty of linens and a comfortable living room to relax in. I would definitely stay there again next year.

  • Perfect house for my wife’s girls trip to VA wine country. It was perfect.

    Matt2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. We loved being directly across from the pub yet it felt like we were out in the country. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. House is old and charming with a modern kitchen and bath - perfect combination! It’s a great area - wineries everywhere, and we were lucky to be there at peak autumn color, which we were able to experience from nearly Sky Meadows State Park. Dan checked with us by phone a day before our trip to explain check-in and answer questions. We’ll be back!

    Susan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a long weekend with friends and their families. The kitchen is well stocked and the gas grill worked well. We enjoyed the perfect fall weather around the fire pit in the evenings. The location is convenient to Middleburg, local wineries, and Sky Meadows state park. It was also nice to have the pub across the street!

    Jennifer2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Dan’s. The house is just charming, comfortable and lots of added touches made it great. The kitchen is well stocked, lines and towels plentiful, wood for the fire pit available, and Dan’s resource guide added to our pleasurable time. The location is close to scenic wineries and having the Pub across the street was an added bonus. Dan was available for us before and during our stay. All directions were clear and entry was super easy. It was the perfect place for our wine country get-a-way.

  • A great cabin in a private location.

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin in the woods and mountain. Perfect cozy getaway. The pictures don't do it justice. Be aware it's a dirt road, but once you arrive, you never want to leave. All the amenities you need. Warm. Spacious. Very attentive hosts. Nothing bad to say.

    Nick2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we had a fabulous trip- it was definitely a bumpy ride up the mountain, but we knew that already! The place was spotless, the furniture cozy and comfortable, and having the firewood available allowed for some great fires! They thought of every detail from a bottle of wine to treats for my dog! We’d definitely recommend this home to everyone! The only negative was the downstairs double bed in the main bedroom was pretty hard- just could use a mattress pad perhaps?

  • We came late from Dulles Airport, so we were happy the checkin to be very uncomplicated, Berlinda answered very friendly and fast, m unforunately we couldn’t meet in person), the value for money is perfect. The area is very quiet and relaxant, even though the basement hot-water heat pump next door was pretty busy in the night (at least in the cold season). We‘d love to come back!

The location is serene, the view of the creek is lovely, and it’s only a few minutes away from downtown Middleburg. The cottage is incredibly clean, stylish, and functional. Sunsets, serenity and sensational views await you at this rustic retreat set in the mountains, just a few miles from Shenandoah National Park and a little more than an hour from Washington, DC. Enjoy the wood burning stove in the winter and the mountain breezes in the summer. Sip wine from the hot tub and gaze down on the Shenandoah River valley below. Visit the local winery and seasonal food co-op during your stay, or hunker down for peace and tranquility.
The cottage is set on 3 acres with tons of privacy. The house has a spacious great room and kitchen on an open plan layout, and has a fully finished basement with a family/recreation room. Wood floors and the pine ceiling give this cottage a homey feel with spectacular views from inside or out. Guests can find privacy on one of two westward-facing decks. Separate bathrooms on each of the two floors allow you and your friends/family to spread out. The fully stocked kitchen and grills on the patio are ready for your use. The cottage has cable, DVD players, a smart TV, board games and puzzles to get you through a cold or rainy day. There are many other nice touches such as cornhole and horseshoe games I inherited from the previous (and wonderful) Airbnb hosts. Pets and children under 2 years old can be negotiated. Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
The cottage is nested in the woods, and you will see more wildlife (deer, birds, squirrels) than you will people. It is just minutes to Fox Meadow Winery and many others in the area. It takes about 7 minutes to get down the mountain to Linden, and about 15 to get to downtown Front Royal.
  • Beautiful view! Alan is quick to respond to any questions and had prepared a binder with tips and tricks about not only the home, but also the area. Everything was clearly marked. Loved the hot tub! Felt like our group was well taken care of and already in talks of when we want to go again!

    Serena2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's cottage in the mountain is exactly as pictured: beautiful, tranquil and well-appointed with fluffy fresh towels and linens. The place was super clean. My family enjoyed all of the thoughtful touches throughout the 3-acre space. The sectional looked brand new, and it was a delight to stretch out and watch the sun set through the windows while we kept a crackling fire burning in the wood stove. The nearby winery was a daily hangout for us, and the brochure rack on the wall had many other nearby attractions. I look forward to returning in the fall!

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very reasonable, spacious place that is exceptionally comfortable. We only had a short visit, but it was great to unwind after a busy day and rest up for the following day. Very close to shops in Marshall and Sky Meadows State Park, among many other places. We would gladly return in the future.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Alana’s and Lester’s place! The space was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. We felt right at home. There were also tons of board games and books and a nice living room space to relax. We live on a long dirt road, so the drive to their charming house very familiar. Drive slowly on Cobble Lane and you’ll be fine, you might even see some wildlife grazing! We definitely recommend!

The Log Cabin at Oak Hill Farm, dates back to 1790. This was the ancestral home of the Lodge family who came to Loudoun County in the late 1700s from Chester County, PA. Featured as a historical site in Eugene Scheel's historical map -Snickersville Turnpike, Loudoun County (1997). Oak Hill Farm is a working horse ranch. We have chickens and you will enjoy fresh farm eggs with your stay. We welcome small pets. Please select additional guest when booking to pay our $50 pet fee.
The Log Cabin at Oak Hill Farm is a place for you to reconnect with yourself, a loved one and history. With relaxing country views, you will be within easy reach of wineries, breweries, antique shopping, golfing, hiking (Appalachian Trail Head is near by) and dining. Enjoy the surrounding area, or sit down and start that book you always wanted to write. The Log Cabin itself has a beautiful first floor that includes a wood stove and cozy sitting and dining area. A queen size, four poster bed awaits you on the second floor. Additionally, there is an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances for you to cook or warmup a meal on the lower floor. Situated on 20 acres, the Log Cabin is located off of Route 7, about 1½ hours west of Washington DC in Loudoun County.
Many of our neighbors are working farms. You will see Alpaca, Llamas and Horses. Dirt Farm Brewery and Bluemont vineyard are just a few minutes away. You can see our farm from both - bring binoculars when you visit.
  • Our second stay at the cabin was excellent once again. By far the best Airbnb and cozy getaway that we’ve experiences, and this includes Ray and Christina. Trust all of these reviews and book immediately!

    Joe2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed!!! Ray and Christina’s cabin is beautiful, clean and in a great location.

    Melissa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ray and Christina's place is an amazing, romantic spot to get away for the weekend. Check in was easy, the cabin was festively decorated for Valentine's Day, and the wood-burning stove was ready to go with wood and fire starter. The kitchen is fully-stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, and glassware you need to make a home cooked meal! And the best part was that the bed was comfortable – something hard to find at an Airbnb. Quiet and beautiful scenery, we loved our vacation here!

    Megan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding amenities and thoughtful touches alongside a breathtaking scenery. Christina & Ray had it all covered. My fiancé and I enjoyed a romantic Valentine’s weekend getaway in this warm and cozy 1700’s cabin. The location was incredible as we were able to drive into town quickly and still feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We made good use of the wood stove and enjoyed waking up to the sunshine peeping through the cabin windows. Our dog Max also enjoyed his stay as there was plenty of green space for him to explore. We look forward to visiting in the future and highly recommend this beautiful cabin to all who wish for a slow, off the beaten path experience, tied to the preserved history of Round Hill & Leesburg.

    Mike2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great stay at Ray and Christina’s place. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like coffee, creamer, snacks, and breakfast goods. Our favorite part of the stay was taking our morning coffee out on the deck (so peaceful) and building a fire for the evening. The cabin is conveniently located to many wineries and outdoor activities. Would highly recommend.

    Allison2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Like walking back in time. Peaceful and just lovely. Can’t say enough about the setting and how wonderful our hosts were. Highly recommend!!!

    Terry2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stop looking and book Christina and Ray’s lovely log cabin. The space is absolutely perfect, beautifully appointed with first rate antiques and all period appropriate. The wood stove and additional electric wood stove upstairs in the bedroom make for an incredibly cozy space. So many special touches: wood, kindling, gloves and lighters at the ready; eggs, creamer, sugar, muffins, croissants, tea coffee, marmalade for a quick breakfast, extra quilts to stay warm while watching TV downstairs. Truly a perfect space close to so many things to do and see in western Loudoun county. Don’t think twice. This is really many notches above.

Sweeping views of Ashby's Gap just minutes away from Upperville and Middleburg, 1 hour outside of DC. Newly renovated with a vintage flair, private and secluded. Ideal weekend get-away for couples, come sample the best the Piedmont has to offer!
One of a kind cabin with breathtaking views sitting overtop of Ashby's Gap. This cabin sits a half mile from the Appalachian Trail. The cabin was built a number of years ago and had been abandoned for over thirty years. A local family bought it and fixed it up with loving and tender care. If you want a quiet, private place to think or relax that is still close to wonderful restaurants, local vineyards, the cute towns of Paris, Upperville and Middleburg and it vibrant historical horse community, this is the place for you.
Secluded location, very private. You are close to the town of Paris with the acclaimed Ashby Inn. You are four miles from Upperville with the cute Hunter's Head Pub and about 11 miles from Middleburg, VA/
  • Had a relaxing visit. The views are breath taking and we loved how the space was styled. We had several fires in the well equipped and large fireplace and soaked in the glorious sounds of silence absent of TV, kids and dogs.

  • Perfect, every time we stay.

  • My husband and I returned to this magical retreat to celebrate our one year anniversary. It was everything that we remembered and more. There are not enough words to describe how relaxing it is to unplug and sit by the amazing fireplace. We also had a fabulous time at the Ashby Inn and Delaplane Cellars. We will certainly be back to visit again in the future!

In the middle of VA wine country and only minutes to the Appalachian Trail. Enjoy a private apartment in our mountain home with a separate entrance and your own deck with spectacular views of the Shenandoah Valley. There is an outbuilding with a cedar lined Swedish sauna, a hot tub on the deck, and a fire pit overlooking the valley, which is shared with our other Airbnb Guest House. Plenty of wildlife. A welcome basket includes breakfast items, coffee and tea, and bottle of wine.
Our home is located on a peaceful 10 acre mountain retreat in the middle of the woods. Since we are located on a higher elevation temperatures can average 6 to 8 degrees cooler than the surrounding area. The apartment has a mini Fridge, Microwave, Electric Kettle, Drip Coffee Maker and ROKU TV for your use. We have recently opened (Jan 2020) an additional private guesthouse on our property. The guesthouse is a larger space in a detached building with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. You can view it here at https://airbnb.com/h/skyhorseguesthouse Winter Note: The higher elevation also means that ice and snow are here much longer than down in the valley. While we are constantly clearing the deck, stairs, and road, we have no control over Mother Nature and cannot guarantee that the area is free of ice and snow. In particularly snowy weather we may advise that you will need a four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. Internet Note: We cannot guarantee that the internet will be up and running 100% of the time due to the nature of the point to point wireless connection with the ISP. Strong winds often knock the ISP towers out of calibration and the company is not the fastest to respond.
Peaceful, quiet, on top of a mountain, it's normally 6 to 10 degrees cooler than the valley. We are equidistant between Berryville and Purcellville (10 miles each way). We are about five miles from the small town of Pine Grove, which has The Horseshoe Curve (live music, bar and restaurant), Pine Grove restaurant (great breakfasts!) and the Pine Grove Market and Deli (grocery essentials, plus will deliver pizza on the weekends!)
  • Beautiful Mountain view and wonderful wood fired Sauna here. Bob was kind, helpful and communicative!

    Briel2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place for a quiet getaway!

    Kelli2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described and fantastic. Bob greeted us as we arrived and showed us around. The sauna was amazing. Perfect night away from the rush of DC. Was amazed when we woke up to the amount of fog, then driving off the mountain how it disappeared as we got closer to sea level, so cool.

    Shawn2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gracious hosts, a wonderful view, comfortable apartment stocked with anything you could need, close to a fantastic hiking trail, I would definitely recommend this AirBnB

    Alyson2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great weekend getaway! The hot tub and sauna was where we spent most of the weekend. The apartment is warm and had nice personal touches. Shower is new, clean, and had great water pressure. Bob, Nancy, and Xena (the best dog ever) we’re incredibly kind and welcoming. We will be staying here again!

    Katherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed one night on Valentines Day for a quick getaway. This is a great place to stay overall. The hosts were great with listening to and fulfilling requests, even trivial ones, and making us feel at home. The apartment was stocked with amenities, including snacks and drinks—even a bottle of bubbly! The one thing I that may distract some light sleepers is that the floorboards above us creaked whenever the hosts walked around their house. Not too much, but enough to be noticeable. To their credit, the amenities they provided included ear plugs, though I did not deem it necessary. We plan to visit again, and enjoy the hot tub next time (too windy/cold this time).

    Steven2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very beautiful and scenic place! A perfect place to get some R+R

    Ian2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a fabulous stay in this cozy apartment. The apartment itself was lovely and included snacks, nice toiletries, a Roku + connections to streaming services and other comfy amenities. Even in the winter, the view from the deck is lovely + the string lights are a nice touch. We also enjoyed using the sauna and hot tub that are nearby and well attended. Also, the location of the house is excellent, very close to hiking, wineries/breweries and restaurant. We had a perfect winter-weekend getaway from D.C. You can't go wrong booking this sweet little spot.

Need to social distance? Our quiet country studio is far enough from Washington DC to get away without being gone. Ideal for grabbing some space, a long run, a bike ride, or visiting local wineries. The Appalachian Trail is just a stone's throw away. We respect your privacy. No smoking is allowed and internet access is from your own hot-spot. The studio includes a satellite TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The queen-size bed and skylight make Rose End a cozy escape.
  • Great, cozy spot to rest/relax and get away from the city. Roger and Kar Kar's guest house is the perfect launching pad for you to visit wineries, Middleburg, etc. There's even a little fire pit you could use, but it was a tad cold so we didn't get to do that. Easy, prompt communication. Check-in is super easy (as long as you turn in the right driveway, it was dark and almost knocked on the neighbor's door, but then we read their instructions again and it was really clear which house it was!). We would definitely stay there again.

    Reed2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfortable place to stay, the area is gorgeous. I had decent cell signal and the the fact that there was a coffee maker just about made my day. I met Rodger in passing and he left a great impression on me.

    Devin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • It's a small, intimate space - a great break from the city, which is just what we needed. Wineries, restaurants, and breweries nearby were nice and affordable. The place was quiet and very clean.

  • Very cute private apartment with everything you need in a great location to enjoy wine country and the great outdoors! Hosts were quick to respond and extremely helpful. They even arranged a special gift for my wife’s birthday! Place was very clean and included very thoughtful bonuses like bottled water, coffee, tea, and many toiletry items in case you forgot something. Would definitely recommend as place to stay and can see myself returning when we want to explore this area again.

    Timothy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cozy apartment for its homey feel with artsy vibes. It has the best of both worlds with close proximity to owner’s home but the way it is situated makes it feel very private. We appreciated that the owner was quick to respond, especially since we made a last minute reservation. She also made an effort to make extras available like a bottle of wine and cream for coffee. One of the reasons we love Air BnBs over hotel rooms! As for the town of The Plains, it is very vibrant considering how small it is. Living close by in Gainesville, we’d always wanted a chance to explore it more and staying at Rose End for a night gave us the perfect opportunity. We could have wandered around it all day but we also chose to check out nearby Winery at La Grange in Haymarket and highly recommend that too. Overall, a great stay!

  • We really loved our stay here, it was beautiful, comfortable, and quiet with lots of thoughtful touches (like books, games, and movies neatly laid out). The grounds are very pretty as well, and there are lots of great restaurants, breweries, and wineries nearby. We also greatly appreciated being able to bring both of our dogs with us, and hope to return someday!

  • This place is very cool. We had a great time with breweries and wineries in the area and this place had a great location for that. Loved the space, very comfortable for a couple. Loved the wood burning stove. Teri was a huge help with some recommendations so I could make sure my husband’s bday was special. We’ll return to explore the grounds more; it was too cold for us to want to walk around much. Looks like lovely places to stroll right on the property. Great place.

There is an old stone fireplace, laundry room with washer/dryer, satellite TV w/Showtime, and a bathtub for bubblebaths.
Outside the many windows you will enjoy views of horses grazing in the adjacent pastures, Belted Galloway cattle meandering in the fields beyond, and a deep blue lake just below the grassy knoll. You can take a walk down to the pond and have a picnic by the stone waterfall while you feed the Canadian Geese, take a hike on the many trails surrounding the property, go fishing in the fully stocked lake, take a bike ride through the countryside, or simply lounge by the pool and catch up on a good book while you work on your tan.
In the nearby town of Middleburg, you can have a massage at the 5-star Salamander Resort, search through the antique shops for treasures, enjoy a cup of coffee at one of our quaint coffee shops, go wine tasting at our abundance of nearby wineries, and choose from simple to extravagant restaurants for a scrumptious dinner at the end of the day. Depending on the time of year you visit, you can attend the famous Middleburg Film Festival, enjoy the festivities of the Christmas parade, and experience the exhilaration of the many Point-To-Point competitions, horse shows, and fox hunting.
  • We loved this place! The guest house was perfect for our weekend couple's getaway from DC. The place was so cute and cozy, and the property was tidy and quaint. We certainly plan on making another visit and highly recommend spending a weekend in Middleburg. The place was better than we anticipated - one of our favorite parts was walking around the farm and visiting the horses, dogs, and cows.

  • A very cozy cottage surrounded by a horse farm and vineyards. Sounds too good to be true, yet here it is in Northern Virginia wine country. The place was very clean and comfortable. The interior decor is rustic farmhouse but with a modern flair. Christine was an excellent host who made our stay easy and enjoyable. She gave us helpful tips about dining and site seeing. We would definitely return.

  • We absolutely LOVED this place. My mom, sister, friend, and I had an amazing girls weekend! The cottage was perfect for the four of us. We felt so comfortable and the place was sparkling clean. Christine even left us a new deck of cards, after we’d asked if the cottage had one. Extra little touches like this make her a fabulous host and the place was just wonderful. We also had everything else we needed - kitchen was fully stocked and everything felt clean and ready to use! Thanks for everything, Christine!

    Becca2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Christine's cottage at Red Gate Farm is absolutely perfect! The place is super clean, comfortable, cozy and in a dream-like location. The grounds are gorgeous and very peaceful. My family and I stayed there for a wedding in the area and couldn't have asked for a better choice. Christine was easily accessible and responded immediately to any questions. She also offered great tips for places around the area. I will definitely be back to this beautiful place!

The Coach Stop, brand new in 2019, offers peace and tranquility for the weary traveler wishing to experience the country life. Located on the west side of Middleburg, the tranquil location offers the country life, but with the convenience of access to Middleburg's attractions. The town of Middleburg and many attractions such as vineyards are only minutes away.
The Coach Stop was totally rebuilt in 2019, with guest accommodations in mind. All the systems and finishes are new, including independent heating and cooling in every room. Accommodations include four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, living room, dining room, and patio. All four bedrooms have queen size beds. The bathrooms are centrally located between the four bedrooms, offering maximum convenience for any guest situation. Two roll away cots are available at an extra charge, and can be placed in the largest of the bedrooms. We pride ourselves in the cleanliness of the environment, and strive to provide simple but elegant accommodations with rural charm.
White Hall is situated on Snake Hill Rd, which is a historic gravel byway. Walk to Goodstone Inn, or just enjoy the still very rural western side of Middleburg while exploring Snake Hill Rd and Pothouse Rd. You will often see our horses on the road, being exercised, pulling carriages or doing farm work. The town of Middleburg is only a short drive away (less than 5 miles). Goodstone Inn and other eating establishments are 5-10 minutes away, as well as wineries and other attractions. Whereas other listings advertise “Middleburg”, and are actually in adjacent zip codes, the Coach Stop is actually in the famed 20117 Middleburg Zip Code.
