  • Superb welcome to a fully equipped and enormously cosy ‘Swallows Nest’. Although outwardly small the ‘Nest’ is tardis-like with everything needed, or could be needed, for a weekend stay available. Indeed with a full range of kitchen equipment and a washing machine any stay could be much longer. There is more than ample space is the bedroom which contains a comfy bed. We would be more than happy to book the accommodation again and may well do so as our brief visit threw up a most interesting part of the country with unexpected delights.

  • AMAZING in every way. Hosts go out of their way to communicate quickly and ensure it is perfect. Warm, cosy with literally everything you need. Ideal base to explore the area. I will come back again and again. Thank you.

  • A lovely little home from home. Spotlessly clean. Lovely hosts. Really enjoyed watching the many birds attracted to the bird feeders.

  • A very well equipped and welcoming space. We didn't need a tonne of help but Angela was very responsive to messages.

  • Amazing accommodation. Lovely little property in a beautiful location. The spa bath is really nice added little touch. House is equipped with everything you need and the hosts even leave you a bottle of wine and box of chocolates as a welcome gift.

  • Spent three nights at Swallow's Nest while a kitchen was being fitted at a property nearby. The property is lovely — comfortable and cosy, and the spa bath is to die for! In summer the outside space at the back must be idyllic. Very comfortable bed, and excellent TV on tap (Sky, Netflix, etc). Will return if the need ever arises.

  • This one bedroom barn conversion has everything one can need for a holiday trip. Details are thought of such as providing shampoo, shower gel, etc and also tea, coffee, milk, salt, pepper, etc. It may seem basic but not everyone thinks of this. The amenities are also great, underfloor heating, spa tub (sadly didn't have time to utilise, has to be next time!). Self check in is also easy taking the pressure from arriving at a certain time. It did feel home away from home. And the location is brilliant, 10 minutes drive from Liskeard, in the heart of the countryside. Thank you also for the lovely welcome drink & biscuits :)

The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. • Wow, what a fantastic place to stay! Immaculately clean and very stylish. I found it hard to leave this beautiful place. The views are amazing - the location is superb. Only a short walk to the local pub. It is certainly great value for money too. My favourite Airbnb property so far. Thank you for such a great stay.

We went to the coast and explored tregantle beach, Looe and Polperro. Recommend the Crow's nest pub nearby, good range of veggie + vegan food.

  • Very friendly hosts, quirky and cozy accommodation in a lovely part of the world and great base for exploring.

  • I travelled with my wife and dog for a long weekend away of relaxation and dog walks on the beaches. Relax we did with the accommodation being off the beaten track and super quiet. Really lovely area and super quiet, we did a few local walks and explored the area but drove north to Polzeath and Boscastle which was only 40 mins away. There no pubs within walking distance but Martin recommended a few within a 10 mins drive and we opted for the Manor House Inn at Rilla Mill (great food, warm welcome, highly recommended). The room was as described, basic but very warm, cosy and clean. The bed was very comfortable and added to quietness we slept like logs. The shower was amazing and could’ve spent all morning just soaking it up. There’s no television but again no bad thing as it’s a get away from it all kinda place (but we did take a laptop and watched Strictly come dancing using the free WiFi). Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a get away from it kind of trip or use it as a base to explore.

Traditional and simplistic decor provides a relaxing retreat, around the beautiful setting of East Cornwall. The Granary is charming and characteristic, with a quirky detail....the bedroom and bathroom is downstairs! The living area is delightfully airy and light, with a decent size porch, capable of storing bikes, hiking shoes or a body board.
The Granary used to be part of our small but still working farm, it was converted around 25yrs ago to a beautiful, cosy cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped and you will have tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc for the first morning’s breakfast only. The bathroom is light and airy, with shampoo, conditioner and towels (but please bring your own beach towels!). The bedroom has a queen size double bed, bed linen and enough space for a fold- up bed or travel cot (both available upon request) walk-in wardrobe and hairdryer. There is a sofa bed in the lounge which converts into a small double bed, therefore the Granary can sleep 4 people.
Linkinhorne is 4miles from Minions, famous for the stone formations of The Hurlers and Cheesewring, and the edge of hikers paradise, Bodmin Moor. It is 4miles to the nearest town, Callington & nearby Kit Hill. The South coast, seaside villages such as Seaton, Downderry, Portwinkle & Looe are 40mins, and the north Coast with seaside towns such as Bude, Polzeath, Padstow, & historic Tintagel and Boscastle are around 45/50mins. The River Lynher, Rilla Mill and the new wedding venue of The Green only 2miles. The Eden project, Cotehele & Lanhydrock House are just a few of the inland magnificent attractions. The border to Devon the River Tamar only 7miles, historic beautiful Tavistock and the edge of Dartmoor just 10miles, so as you can see we are central to everywhere ! It is also worth noting that there are plenty of walks to be done locally as well, and we are on hand to advise or help you enjoy your stay in anyway.
  • Everything was great, the host, the little attention, the place, the location. If you want to spent time in a tiny village, in a clean and tidy home, it is the perfect place.

    Clement2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous hospitality and tips about the area. We loved our walk up to the cheese wring which Marcia recommended. The location of the property, although it felt remote, was really close to lots of places we had planned to visit.

    Georgina2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Marcia and Val, we had a fantastic stay. The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything that we needed. We have two grown up children and there was plenty of room for all of us. Marcia gave us some great tips on the local sights. The village was very peaceful and quiet. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and were provided with a very thoughtful welcome package which included organic bread, jam, butter and milk, thank you again XX

  • Lovely clean and well appointed apartment, has everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful stay. Nice touch on arrival was the essentials, tea, coffee, milk and fresh bread. Great location to use as a base for travelling around both Cornwall and Devon. Hosts Marcia and Val are lovely, friendly and approachable. Felt right at home straight away and would definitely stay here again.

    Andrew2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly and welcoming host! We had a quick and friendly tour around the property, which is lovely. The location is perfect if you want peace and quiet, but it's also in a good location to travel to different places around the area. The house itself was very clean and a bargain for the price! Definitely a place to go back to!

    Abigail2019-05-31T00:00:00Z

  • Lorraine and Jeff were perfect hosts who made us feel more than welcome on their beautiful property. The cottage was cosy with everything you could possibly need for a break away from home. The bed was so comfortable as was the lounge area and the well equipped kitchen. The hot tub was an amazing bonus and was really relaxing after a day of walking. There was even a cream tea on arrival and milk in the fridge which was a really welcome touch. Lorraine and Jeff's property has some great walks in tranquil surroundings which we and our dog loved! The nearest town with bigger supermarkets was only about a 10 minute drive away. The Hurlers, Cheesewring and Golitha Falls were only about 15 mins away too. Blue the labrador was a big softie who we loved to say hello to! All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break. Thanks again Lorraine and Jeff for a great, relaxing week at Christmas Cottage. We hope to see you again! Francesca, Ryan and Darcy x

When we arrived we were blown away by the cottage and not only that, we were also greeted with a cream tea! The surrounding area is breath-takingly beautiful and with Liskeard, Looe and Padstow nearby there was much to do.

  • Christmas Cottage is the perfect Cornish getaway for anyone looking for a peaceful weekend away! The cottage itself is outstanding, and combined with the beautiful views across the valley you couldn’t ask for anything better. Everything was spotless and most importantly the beds were insanely comfortable! Lorraine and her husband are perfect hosts and we couldn’t have had a better weekend away, we will definitely be looking to stay again!

  • Located in an undiscovered part of Cornwall in the village of Pensilva, this beautiful cottage is part of Glen Silva farm, which is also home to a shepherds hut and another cottage all equipped with modern and sleek amenities, the style and well equipped nature of all the rooms is stunning and practical. The hosts Lorraine and Jeff went out of their way to make us comfortable and show us the property we were renting and the surrounding area. They gave us a lift from right outside the Christmas cottage we were staying at and dropped us off at the wedding venue we were there to attend. We did not want to leave and made excellent use of the electronic hot-tub and had a cream tea waiting for us on arrival, that was fresh and rich. Absolutely heartwarming touch. We will all be coming back ofcourse, there is much more to be discovered on the farm and the surrounding area. We have already been bragging to friends and family about the experience and the stay. Thank you Chris, Leanne and Krystal

  • This Air B&B has the most wonderful setting on Bodmin Moor with fabulous far reaching views. The drive up is quite pot holed but worth the drive. The accommodation is wonderfully warm, sparkling clean, with a huge dining table which seats a very large group. The food at the hotel next door is very good, with great service, plus there's a takeaway service! I would happily recommend this accommodation.

  • When we got there we were a little disappointed as no one was there to greet us ( we later found out our host was poorly) Charlie turned up to greet us later she was a fantastic step in for the hosts and couldn’t do enough for us , the accommodation was absolutely fantastic & better than I could have expected, we had pizza on the Saturday (brilliant) & a roast on Sunday (fantastic value) overall I would recommend the stay to anyone thank you so much Charlie 👍👍

    Mike2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful and the previous comments on the accommodation were very accurate in terms of location and the stylish venue. The only problem we had was the driveway up to the hotel from the road as big pot holes. We had a great stay, you were very helpful over the bedding and sleeping arrangements and the children loved the toys. The nice touches of the milk and chocolates were thoughtful and it was lovely to have the bar and restaurant next door. Fabulous views over the Moor! Thank you :)

  • My family had a great stay at Mel’s place. It was light and airy with plenty of space for the kids to round around inside and out in the garden. They loved the chickens being so nearby and had fun saying hello to them. The kitchen was great in terms of utensils making it easy to cook and prepare food. There was also a lot of local information in the form of leaflets and maps inside the mill making it easy to find places to visit and understanding exactly where we were located. Mel was very easy to contact and always responded very quickly to calls or texts. Would definitely visit again with my family.

  • We had a really lovely stay here! The place is bright and open and has all the amenities you need. The place is built in a beautiful rustic style but everything inside is nice and modern. We stayed as a family of 5 and there was plenty of space for all of us. The location is very rural but this means you have access to some beautiful walks on Bodmin moor which we really enjoyed whilst we were there. Mel and Craig were easy to contact throughout our stay and provided us with all the information we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing break away in a beautiful part of the country.

  • Lovely cottage in a quiet location. Perfect for a small family to get away from it all. We had very nice time here.

  • We stayed at Merlin and Miranda's place in January 2020 for 6 nights with our twin kids. The cottage was very spacious and sparkling clean. We had everything we needed in the cottage. We came prepared with all baby stuff but if we didn't it had everything a baby needs. Amazing! Also, any query we had we received almost instant reply from the hosts. Overall we absolutely loved the place and hosts. Highly recommended...

  • A lovely stay in Mitchell's cottage, size is very deceiving, spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen, and touches like DVDs and games. The cottage is in perfect location, although the narrow lanes take some getting used to! We'd love to come back when the weather is drier! This home is very accommodating and had everything we needed for our young family. Many thanks 😊

  • We really enjoyed staying in Rebecca’s house, it is so peaceful and waking up to that view every morning was such a treat. The kids loved the play area on the mezzanine, the swings and sleeping in bunk beds. Perfect location for day trips around Cornwall too. We had the best holiday!

    Nicola2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing, the space is relaxing, light and inspiring. The kids loved it too, lots of adventures to have and its rural location is perfectly peaceful. Recommended if you get the chance!

  • This is a very special home and Rebecca and Gregory make you feel very welcome. They are easy to get in touch with and are always on hand should you need them. The place is stunning and situated in a lovely part of Cornwall. It's easy to explore the coastline of Cornwall and there are lots of interesting things to do. Thank you Rebecca and Gregory for letting us stay in your home. x

  • A beautiful home in an idyllic setting. The living space is fun, stylish and cosy making it ideal for a family holiday.

  • If you’re a big fan of silence, stunning views and amazingly designed architecture, this ticks all the boxes and the hosts were very welcoming, easy going people too. Everything we wanted to see was within easy reach (in the car), but if you like seclusion, this provides the best of both worlds. Would absolutely stay again.

    Lee2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to explore the North and South coast. Great local tips for days out from Rebecca that we used on a daily basis! Thanks for a great stay

    Ian2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was gorgeous. The indoor swing was a hit to everyone. The view was amazing to wake up to and that it was very quiet on the road.Rebecca responded to queries promptly and pointed out the presence of stairs in view that we have a toddler coming with us. I love it that we have access to a frequently used kitchen which means I have access to most things I would be using at my own home. Rebecca also sent me an email ahead of places to eat nearby. And the place was near most places we wanted to get to. Thank you so much.

Unique Shepherds hut nestled on the banks of a private fishing lake where guests would have exclusive use. The shepherds hut has a seating area which converts into a double bed that can sleep 2. There is also a hot shower and flushing toilet in the hut as well as a wood burner and hob. All bedding and kitchen utensils are provided. Out side the hut is an under cover seating area with Gas barbeque. Outdoor seating is provided as well as a fire pit for those cooler evenings.
The lake is fully stocked with Carp, Roach Rudd and Tench
The only neighbours you will have will be the wildlife and livestock in the surrounding fields.
  • Wonderful sweet little stay. The lake is beautiful and it is as remote and private as you could wish and hope for. BBQing our meals in the sunshine with all the fish and birds in our midst was a joy. Very helpful hosts with tips for local beaches and hikes. Very pleased.

    Gabby2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect peace in an idyllic setting! Take yourself to this lakeside shepherds hut if you like to escape from the daily bustle of life. Fields, farm, water and nature all surround you and will ensure you feel well rested from your stay. If you're into fishing the lake is sure to fulfill your catching needs, as we'd gone for the isolation and escape from our daily lives we didn't make use of this facility. Our host was welcoming and provided the ideal setting for a few days away. The place is cosy and perfect 1-2 people, we enjoyed the tranquility and great summer weather. Hut stays surprisingly warm at night time and is within easy travel distance of Launceston for sight seeing, food and shopping. Would happily return and recommend to others looking for somewhere a bit different to stay

    Alan2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is idyllic and set in woodland with its own private lake. Its peaceful, tranquil and a wonderful place to get away from it all! Our host accepted our request at very short notice after an emergency with our tent on West Cornwall in the evening and through the pouring rain when we arrived, made sure we got to the cabin safely and securely. I would definitely go again and we were super happy with everything she provided! It was a luxurious experience compared to our camping! I would highly recommend visiting and spending a good number of days to fully appreciate the beauty of it all.....

    Hesan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place if you’re looking for somewhere rural and secluded. The hut is in its own huge field with a beautiful lake just outside the door. It also has running water and a shower and toilet inside which is great.

Little Barn is approached via a private, gated driveway, and provides independent living , suitable for a couple. There is room for a travel cot to be accomodated within the bedroom space. This is a newly build and reburbished detached barn, with its own parking spaces for several cars and private garden. It boasts remarkable far reaching views over the adjoining Cornish countryside. There is a shower room and plenty of wardrobe space. All standard amenities for a home from home stay.
There are tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and TV. Within the garden, there is a seating area. Private parking in a tranquil setting with plenty of wildlife. There is space for a travel cot within the bedroom (not provided).
The is a village pub less than two miles away, serving hot and cold food and real ales. 'Minions' heritage site is a short drive away, ideal for keen walkers and ramblers. The nearest beach is about ten miles away, with plenty of choice for scenery in every direction.
  • FAULTLESS - I have just come home from a 4 night stay at 'Little Barn'. Myself and my partner have had 4 amazing nights in the barn, and have come home feeling rested and relaxed. We arrived to the barn on Saturday (approx 1230pm), and whilst this was slightly before the 'check in' time given, the host was more than happy to accommodate our early arrival. Firstly, prior to our stay Bonnie (the host), sent me descriptive, precise directions, which got us to the barn without any hassle. On arriving, we contacted Bonnie, who after buzzing us in through the electric gate, greeted us on the driveway with the keys. She was very lovely, happy to offer advice about local attractions, but had an amazing ability to make us feel like we were completely alone in the world. Bonnie left us to our amazing holiday, but made it very clear that if we needed ANYTHING at all, she could be contacted. The barn is absolutely beautiful. It was spotlessly clean, felt homely and had everything you would want for a short stay (including hair dryer … always a bonus for me, as one less thing to carry). The cottage is set in a peaceful, off the beaten track, area, with the most picturesque views. Being a full time nurse, life is often hectic and stressful, the barn provided the calm atmosphere that I needed to enable me a lovely break. There is no wifi in the cottage (this to some may seem frustrating), but for my partner and I it was the perfect excuse to turn off from the outside world and just enjoy our break away. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with regards to the barn, its location, accessibility or indeed the host. I will absolutely be recommending this barn to friends and will DEFINITELY be returning.

The Lodge is located in a small walled garden with stunning views out towards Dartmoor. Star gazing is epic on a clear night. Local pub (walking distance) food and drink but bring a torch - it is very dark here at night!
We are located 1/2 mile outside of Pensilva village where there is a pub which does good pub food and a carvery Wednesday and Sunday. Also in the village is a general store selling newspapers, general provisions and cigarettes and alcohol. Farmers market once a month where you can purchase local produce. Walk through the village up to the edge of Bodmin Moor and enjoy seeing the moorland cattle, ponies and sheep that are free to wander
  • Jacquie and Roger were the most lovely hosts. Their home and the area around it is truly beautiful! So great for seeing wildlife and nature, the house itself had everything you need, couldnt have asked for more! They had the most friendly horses, and even took the time to show us around the stable. Great communication, lovely hosts. A must if you're looking for a place to stay in Cornwall.

  • Great place to stay, central to most tourist sites. Most are about an hour away. The furthest we went was Land’s end among other places and it took us 1hr 40mins. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. Jaquie is an excellent host, leaves you to get on with your holiday unless you have a problem, then she is quick to sort any issues (we couldn’t connect to WiFi when we got there). There is a friendly pub ten minutes walk away that serves large portions of good food. Will definitely stay again, even for the surprise scones in the fridge 😉

    Clare2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • jacquie is a wonderful hostess. The scones with clotted cream and jam on out arrival was a definite plus after out long journey. We were able to relax and have them with a nice cup of coffee. The little cottage was beautiful. A nice quiet retreat for anyone wanting a bit of peace. All of the amenities that you could need. The kitchen is well equipped. Definitely ***** five stars from me. Definitely give this one a try.

Our studio apartment is light and spacious, attached to our recently self built ecohome. It has a wood burner and well-equipped living/kitchen space. There is a sofa bed on the ground floor which can be used for an extra guest or two by arrangement. We provide sheets and towels. Eco features include heat recovery ventilation, photovoltaic panels, solar thermal panels, high levels of insulation and heating using logs from our 8 acres of deciduous woodland. Water is from our own spring. There is a short film showing the building of the house on the website of co-host tonyhillfilms.

It's ideal for people who want to spend some time in an unspoilt rural area slightly off the beaten tourist track - no crowds or traffic problems. Moors and beaches, Heligan and the Eden Project are within easy driving distance for days out. Plymouth is near enough for evening entertainment.
  • My husband and I had a really lovely time staying at Pat and Tony’s beautiful air b&b. Such a beautiful space with so many lovely small touches- we especially loved the homemade bread and jam that were waiting for us. Tony was super friendly and helpful and gave us so many tips for the local area. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking to stay in Cornwall!

A former granite built two bedroom miners cottage built circa 1840 complete with woodburner. Situated in the village of Minions which is an ideal base for touring Cornwall and visiting locations used in filming the TV series Poldark. The village is on the edge of Bodmin moor within the Cornish mining world heritage area making it an excellent base for walking and cycling . The world famous Jamaica Inn is a 20 min Drive across the Moor.
With the exposed beams and wood-burner set in an old granite fireplace, the lounge dining room is a lovely cosy room to relax and curl up in after a day’s exploring whatever the season. The Wood burner also heats the radiators to warm the whole house. There is a well equipped kitchen leading to utility/boot room with access to the rear entrance and parking. The family bathroom (with shower) is located on the ground floor.
Minions, the highest village in Cornwall and one rich in history, heritage and legend. It is located within easy reach of the rugged North coast which is approximately 45min drive and the South coast is around 30min. Very close to the cottage there are also many other recreations close by, from the top-quality walking and cycling. There are many local amenities within close walking distance including village shop, Café and the historic Cheesewring pub.
  • Great old miners cottage, with efficient Woodburner and large shower. Fabulously placed for the Hurlers stone circle and many more ancient sites, still to be discovered. Walk for miles, lose yourself in nature. We didn’t have to cook as the Cheesewring is on the doorstep with pub food. There are some (4?) steep steps down to the back door, but only small ones out the front. I noted this, as I was originally travelling with my elderly dog and he would have struggled, left him with family instead. We didn’t cook or use the TV so no comments on that! If you’re a real coffee drinker bring your own cafetière!

  • Lovely cosy cottage surrounded by great walks and easy driving to hidden coves. We sailed the seas, found pirates and smugglers, played on the beach, enjoyed cornish walks and visited the Eden Project. And returned to a snug home and comfy beds. Perfect

  • We had a lovely stay at Minnions. The cottage was fantastic, and a great location for us. Cannot praise our host Ian enough. There was a very small problem with the cleaners not turning up on time, but Ian was onto it straight away, with a positive outcome. Thanks Ian

  • The property is in the ideal location, great for dog owners. Nice areas for walking. Also a pub two tea rooms, one containing a small shop. The property was very clean. Ian went the extra mile texting to see if we arrived safely. Also contacting when my wife had left her walking boots. We will definitely be returning again.

  • A superb base to stay, while sightseeing with three teenagers. The cottage was cosy and had all the essentials and extra things in the cupboards if needed. The neighbours were friendly and gave recommendations and tips for places to visit. The post office/tea room had plenty of information and maps which we found useful. Ian was quick to respond to any queries we had. Plenty of historical places to see as well as the beautiful natural surroundings to navigate. All in all a restful stay.

The cottage boasts many appealing features with a charming kitchen/diner, a cosy and comfortable living room where you can snuggle down on one of the sofas a relax with a glass of red! An enclosed garden with views over the village, where you can enjoy the Cornish sunshine. A traditional staircase winds up to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom.
This charming cottage dates back to 1800’s and has recently been refurbished by its current owners to create a lovely cosy character feel. It is deceptive with an extension to the rear believed to have been added many years ago. The current owners Helen and Rob have retained the character yet created a modern feel too. Both the main dual carriageways of A30 and A38 are within 7 Miles of the cottage giving you the opportunity to explore other areas of this beautiful County.
  • The cottage was absolutely stunning and full of period features. We spent a very cosy new year there and loved the relaxed feel of the place. The log burner helps to add a cosy feel. The cottage had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. It felt like home! Thanks Di for a lovely stay!

    Catherine2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and comfortable cottage. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with lots of little touches that made us and our dog feel at home. Great communication from Di and a lovely cream tea on arrival! There is also a lovely friendly pub just across the road that serves good food. We will definitely be back! 😊 X

  • Wonderful base for exploring! We loved this cottage, it was such a warm and welcoming home away from home. It was easy to get to everywhere we hooed to visit, Looe, Polperro, Padstow, Newquay, St. Uves and Penzance. Great wifi, comfortable bed, cosy fireplace and dog friendly - what more could you want?!

    Laura2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant communication, Diane was super helpful and thoughtful before and during our stay. We felt well looked after and loved the welcoming table set for tea upon arrival. Perfect location for exploring Cornwall, we will definitely be back.

    Nicki2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really fantastic - lovely character, very clean, amazing location and felt very welcoming. Because the owners use the house regularly, it feels very homely and the cupboards had things like salt, pepper, herbs & oil - all stuff you may want for cooking but forget to bring with you! Kitchen was also very well equipped. Di was absolutely brilliant & very friendly. She was able to be flexible with our check-in and came round to make sure we had everything we needed. Very welcoming & warm. The pub over the road does amazing food too. A really wonderful Airbnb experience!!

    Catherine2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really lovely with some wonderful quirky touches. Quiet village with lots of trees and birds, really peaceful. We loved our stay here.

    Lynn2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at the cottage exceeded all of our expectations, so cosy, the quality and well equipped for our self catering stay. Dianne had left a cream tea on arrival which was very thoughtful. The location of the cottage was remote enough for relaxation but close enough to visit every corner of Cornwall within an hour, we were particularly close to Tintagel and Looe 30 minutes in either direction. Only a 20 minute drive to Launceston and Lizkeard have supermarkets and well worth a look round. My family were very comfortable and enjoyed evening log fires and breakfast in the garden, even our English springer Norma thoroughly enjoyed her stay. We will definitely recommend Chartwell Cottage to our friends or just keep this gem as a secret for ourselves. Thankyou Di Xxx

  • The cottage is a lovely place with cute touches and details that will surprise you. I highly recommend it. Location wise was good, as we got everywhere in an hour the most. The pub across the road was ideal!

A modern and stylish self contained annex offering a secluded position on the edge of the pretty village of Rilla Mill. Netherhill has been converted by the current owners into a self contained holiday annex and they have worked hard on giving the annex its own privacy with its own garden and patio. Offering one bedroom accommodation with a double bedroom (having an en-suite shower room)
Netherhill Annex is ideally suited for couples. The accommodation is not really suited for young children. The annex is part of Netherhill house but very much has it own privacy with its own private entrance and own garden which is separate to the house. There is a large driveway for private parking and can accommodate larger vehicles. The property is situated in a peaceful valley yet being so accessible to all that Cornwall has to offer on both the North and South coasts. After a day of exploring you can relax in idyllic surroundings and get away from the hustle and bustle.
  • Comfortable and peaceful location in beautiful rural Cornwall. The property is perfect for functions at The Green (walkable) and has a superb family run pub very close by (also walkable). This accommodation is perfect for a couple and has everything you need, especially for a short stay like ours. There was an added bonus of a homemade chocolate cake from the owners. We had a very enjoyable stay.

  • Amazing hosts, very kind and helpful. Property is very nice and relaxing. Strongly recommend.

  • Great place to stay! Clean and quiet annex with welcoming and friendly hosts.

    Benjamin2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay for a chilled out few days or for a week, you are out of the way of all the noise, except the birds which is amazing. We will be going back to this little hide away.

    Scottish2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Rilla Milla. The annexe had everything we needed and we were warmly welcomed by our hosts. The chocolate cake waiting for us on arrival with tea set laid out was a lovely touch and much needed. You will need a car as Rilla Mill is down some very narrow country roads but it’s a perfect place to come back to at the end of a busy day touring Cornwell.

    Philip2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay, great space feels like home from home. Immaculately clean through out and a home made chocolate cake waiting on our arrival. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

  • This house is simply lovely and the hosts were brilliant. The area is lovely too we were able to go on a beautiful walk and a really tasty Sunday lunch at the manor house inn just round the corner. It was the perfect location for us to attend a wedding at the green as we were able to walk to it from the house (with wellies!)

Longhedge, in the centre of Minions, is perched on the top of Bodmin Moor, near the market town of Liskeard in Cornwall. As the highest village in Cornwall, Minions is a haven for walkers and the perfect place for a relaxing break or a base for exploring the wonderful county of Cornwall. It is perfect for people who like the beauty and seclusion of the moor, exploring the stones and the old mine buildings of the area, which became a World Heritage Site in 2006.
The house is an old stone cottage on the edge of the moor with plenty of bedrooms and communal spaces. It is well equipped with bedrooms, TV room and a bathroom upstairs and has a sizeable sitting room downstairs to spend time together along with a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, shower room with WC and space to store coats, shoes, bikes and other essentials of visiting the moor. It also boasts an attractive walled garden, sun terrace with picnic table, chairs and fire pit. It is perfect as a safe play area for young children.
Minions is a beautiful village, a stone's throw from the tourist hotspots of the cornish coast. It has a village shop and a pub right opposite. The moor is immediately behind the house, as is the famous "Hurlers" standing stone circles, the Cheesewring rock formation and numerous mine buildings and historical sites. Further afield, the Stannery town of Liskeard is a short drive or cycle ride (downhill, obviously), the famous Trago Mills provides many more shopping opportunities. There are numerous local sites to visit, including a watersports activity and fly-fishing lake, Siblyback. The house is well placed for access to the Eden project (35 mins), the seaside towns of Fowey and Looe (20 mins) and many other local places of interest. The National Trust properties of Lanhydrock, Cothele and Anthony House are close by and the North Cornish coast is less than an hour away, where you will find places such as Padstow, Rock and Tintagel. The Minions moorland, particularly its mining heritage, is a major film location and can be seen in series such as Poldark, Doc Martin and Jamaca Inn as well as Tim Burton's latest film "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children".
  • We were five friends meeting for our annual Cornish trip. The house was a good size for us, had everything we needed (wi-fi a little slow) and the location ideal for touring. Lovely welcoming basket of goodies. Local pub (30 yards away) a bonus and the locals very friendly.

  • This is a lovely property and the location is prefect for those who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of “everyday” life and to feel what it’s like to live in the real countryside...

    Mia2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed exploring around area and when back to the cottage, it was warm and wonderful to relax at this big cottage place. What a nice and quiet area to visit and great experience staying at this place. We also had a great time enjoying the DVD collection at this place. Definitely be staying at this same place next time visiting back to the area.

  • We had a lovely weekend and comfortable stay at the house. Delicious scones with jam and cream of course!

  • A very lovely old house with bags of character , a great location and surrounded by lovely countryside. And a very interesting library of biographies.

    Mike2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • A quirky old house with lots of character. Great for sleeping big groups with lots of bed combinations in different rooms. Was an ideal location for a nearby wedding for us, and also opposite a very friendly pub! Beautiful small garden to enjoy the sunshine. Host very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

    Emma2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place and our host was fantastic. The combination of being on the moor and able to go for a walk without getting in a car, and being only a few steps from the neighborhood pub, was FANTASTIC. The kitchen was filled with all the cooking and serving items we needed and the welcome basket was filled with the most delicious goodies. Plenty seating in both the living room and the dining room. The fireplaces were wonderful, as we were there in December. Unreservedly recommend staying here!

Mornick Farm is a listed farmhouse in a quiet hamlet; full of character - granite walls, huge fireplaces, woodburners, slate flagstones, sash windows etc. 4 bedrooms (3 double, 1 twin), big farm dining kitchen, 2 large reception rooms, 2 bathrooms, ideal for children. Secure parking in the old farmyard. 2 paddocks, lawns, treehouse, summerhouse. Enclosed grounds. Ideal base for walking. sightseeing & coasts. Many lovely beaches, castles, towns, historic houses in easy reach.
The farmhouse has a Tudor core, with Georgian and early Victorian additions, and is half a mile from the Church of Saint Sampson, South Hill, which has origins in the 8th century. It is part of a cluster of converted barns surrounding my farmyard. The wider hamlet of Mornick comprises 2 working sheep and cattle farms, in total 11 dwellings, all of traditional granite and slate, surrounded by fields, woods and the River Lynher. The house faces South West, looking over the courtyard (reception rooms, kitchen and 3 larger bedrooms). Just outside the kitchen entrance is the laundry (washing machine, boots and bike storage) and the basketball ring, outside dining table, chairs and gas BBQ. Log stores nearby (firewood is included in rental). Downstairs is a large (24 sq. metres) farmhouse dining kitchen, open to the rafters 5 metres above you and with a "Minstrels' Gallery", huge granite fireplace with massive woodburner, Aga Rangemaster range cooker, dishwasher, Illy Francis Francis Espresso Machine, dining table for 8, massive Delabole slate flagstones etc. The oil boiler is here providing central heating and hot water as you need it. A wide and long book-lined passage (12 sq. mts.) leads to the Sitting Room (21 sq. mts.) - massive fireplace with another woodburner (logs provided for this and the others free), 37" Smart TV and DVD player, sofa, armchairs, sash window with window seat. Good selection of DVDs. In the passage, Sitting Room and elsewhere are many books (including hundreds of children's books) - please do read (and replace) any that interest you. Small collection of local history books and maps. Through the Hall (5sq. mts.) to the Study/Playroom (24 sq. mts.) - another sofa, armchairs, 2 desks (the house has decent Broadband with routers upstairs and down, though the mobile phone reception inside is weak due to the granite walls). The Playroom has an old piano and a lot of toys - Lego, Brio railway, toddlers toys, building blocks, Bagatelle, musical toys (including a cymbal and drum!) etc. Here are also adults' games - Monopoly, Cluedo, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Jenga, Jigsaws (and a jigsaw board), shove ha'penny, chess etc. The room has a small woodburner. Please note that there are guards available for the kitchen and sitting room stoves, but the Playroom one should not be used if there are small children around. You can plug your iPad or iPhone into the desk speakers here, and the signal is also wired to the powered speakers in the sitting room and kitchen. Also leading off the rear passage is the Shower Room (7 sq. mts.) - WC, electric shower cubicle and basin. Three of the bedrooms are SW facing; the Twin Room looks East over the farmyard at the rear, and you may see the cows coming and going. The 3 front bedrooms have views across the courtyard of fields, trees and distant Bodmin Moor, 3 miles away. The double, Master Bedroom is large (16 sq. mts), with an antique brass bed, wardrobe, dressing table, writing desk and chairs, polished floorboards and a marble fireplace. The ensuite Bathroom (6 sq. mts.) has a roll-top bath, WC, basin and bidet. Mornick is a family home (4 children and now 4 grandchildren) and we share the use of this bathroom. The other large double room (15 sq. mts.) ("The Yellow Room") has a double bed, wardrobe, chests of drawers, books and a large dolls' house - a replica of Mornick Farmhouse. The smaller double, Middle Bedroom (9 sq. mts) has a double bed, writing table and chair and a chest of drawers. The bed is against one wall, though it can be pulled out about a foot if you prefer. The Twin Room (9 sq. mts.)has two 3 foot single beds, a chest of drawers and another dolls' house (Charles Dickens' London home). There is a full range of baby equipment - two travel cots (one with a bassinet for new-borns), baby bath, potty, fireguards, toys, two high chairs, nappy bucket etc. Inevitably with a house in the country you may come across spiders; the house has exposed stone and beams and there may even be the odd cobweb which has escaped our notice. The Farmhouse has large grounds - an acre of rough lawns ideal for football or cricket, with a treehouse and little wooden Wendy House (children) and a summerhouse (adults). Croquet lawn (sloping and not super-smooth!) and equipment; also the game of SMITE, cricket set, football goal, Twister, basket ball hoop etc. Two swinging seats. Picnic table. Baby and bigger swings. 5" gauge garden railway (I may be able to offer you and children rides depending on my whereabouts). Wonderful views of Kit Hill and two distant medieval churches. Mornick is within the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Historic Mining for tin and copper) - vast engine houses and stacks punctuate the moors and have been locations for Poldark and Jamaica Inn . The Moors (Bodmin and Dartmoor) are loved for their wild beauty , with the chance to be alone in a wide landscape of granite, bracken, gorse and heather. Launceston, Restormel and Tintagel Castles are in easy reach as are National Trust houses (Cotehele, Lanhydrock, Trerice, Saltram, Antony, Buckland Abbey etc.). Famous gardens include The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trelissick and The Eden Project. There are 5 good pub/restaurants within 15 minutes' drive. Towns worth visiting include Tavistock, Launceston, Bude, Bodmin and Okehampton. You can reach the south coast beaches in about 45 minutes, and an hour for the north coast with its magnificent cliffs, sweeping sands and surf. Mornick is an ideal base for walking & both coasts.
The hamlet is very quiet: you may hear sheep, cows, hens and a tractor occasionally. It is a farming hamlet (2 working mixed farms) of 11 dwellings, about a mile from the nearest village (Linkinhorne). We are halfway between the north and south coast of Cornwall, with their wonderful beaches, cliffs and the superb SW Footpath. About 4 miles away is the small town of Callington; about 10 miles away are Tavistock, Liskeard, Saltash and Launceston. Plymouth is 18 miles. Bodmin Moor 5 miles, Dartmoor 12 miles.
  • John was a great host including quick and clear communication, lots of tips for what to do and extra touches including a bottle of fizz to help mark a significant birthday. John's house has so much character and charm, and the location is great with walking and cycling from the door. For days out at the beach it was easy to head north or south depending on which side of Cornwall was getting the best weather. And the narrow gauge railway in the garden was a bonus!

    Stuart2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We all had a lovely week here. John is very welcoming and helpful. The location is lovely and peaceful, ideal to chill out. The kids were over the moon with the little train! Would recommend to friends and family. Thank you John for letting us stay at your house.

  • We had a great time at the Mornick property. The house is tucked far away from marked roads in farmland, far from city life. It was perfect for an extended family visit, with a large kitchen and living room for people to gather. The kids had lots of fun riding the train and in the yard. There are lots of day trips within easy reach. In particular, we liked going to Bodmin Moor. TIP: Follow Johns directions, not your sat nav!

    Zoe2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing! Perfect for families - loads of toys both inside and outside. Great setting - large beautiful garden perfect for a sunny day. John was a brilliant host - the house has everything you could want for a weekend away.

  • A warm house and vey nice for the dogs as well inside as outside the house. Communication to start was very pleasant, everything we wanted to know, everything we asked, answered almost immediately. The house is great, much space, authentic, great kitchen. Mornick farm is a great place to go back to after a day out, feels like coming home. Would we have another stay? YES!

    Nicole2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • John's house is INCREDIBLE. We were two families with children between 6 and 10 and our stay could not have been better. As John has grandchildren, the house is a treasure trove of toys, games and books. As adults we spent our time in the kitchen, cooking up a storm in front of the lovely wood-burner. The children loved the garden, and in particular being able to take the scraps out to the hens. No more than one hour drive either North or South takes you to the coast and then beautiful Bodmin in under 30 minutes. We cannot fault it and cannot wait to return. Thank you John,

    Jorja2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely house. We loved the children’s toys and the big kitchen. Very well equipped and great for families.

  • John's place was fantastic, all the extra touches and thoughtful tips made our stay even better. I can't recommend John's home enough
