Places to stay in Vanuatu
Stay with us in the tree top house and enjoy the amazing volcano view! Me, my wife and our 6 children will welcome you in our lovely lodge maintained by the local community.
Lodge is situated just opposite the Mt Yasur's entrance. Such perfect location allows you to admire the natural fireworks from balcony of the tree top house. In the house you will find basic bedding, mosquito nets and plastic container for food. You can admire the volcano view while enjoying a meal in our restaurant. Accommodation price includes breakfast, but we'll be happy to prepare lunch and dinner for you as well upon request.
There's a possibility to arrange a lot of trips around the island, so you can: - visit black sand beach - enjoy your time at Custom Village - experience Cargo cult during their weekly celebration - have a swim on the beautiful beach of Port Resolution - join the cannibal show - visit a waterfall - learn how to prepare a lap lap (local delight) - and more - just ask! What's the most important - whenever you want you can admire the beauty of the volcano which is just on the other side of the road!
  • The view on the volcano was very enjoyable :) The place is so calm you are in the forest and you can hear lots of birds as you are at the same level to them :)

  • Amazing location. Best place to stay on the island if you want to experience the volcano!!

    Annalise2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience, everything from the airport transfers, to the food, and of course the treehouse was great. Great local advice and was really nice to get a feel for the local culture. We met alot of people of the volcano tour that came from the other side of the island, so afterwards they had a long journey back and we just walked across the road, which is particularly important if you get bad weather on the volcano visit, as it means you can just go again the next day. We also did ash boarding and three wheelers at the volcano which was incredible. Noel (Thomas son) also knocked some coconuts out of the tree for us which were delicious. Would thoroughly recommend this place to all, 10/10. One tip to future travellers would be to bring a battery pack so you can charge your phone as power is intermittent as it's all run on generators. Thanks Thomas and Noel for being such fantastic hosts.

  • Awesome tree house overlooking Yasur volcano. Right in front of the entrance to volcano tours! Easy people to communicate with and lovely manner and hospitality! Would definitely stay again if I were to return. Peter

  • Really good!

    Xiangkun2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas’ treehouses and bungalows are literally mere steps from the entrance to the volcano, so it’s the perfect location to base in Tanna if you’re looking to visit the volcano, especially for the sunrise tour. It’s a long way from the airport, so sharing a ride helps with the cost to get out to Thomas’ place on the other side of the island. Once there, his family is very welcoming, offers to cook you dinner for an additional cost, and can book you tours and transport. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

  • Amazing experience staying at yasur view lodge. Right across from the entrance to the volcano. Tree house was incredible, with an awesome view. Thomas is very knowledgeable. Food was amazing that Thomas and his family cooked for me. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else to be honest.

    Donovan2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas and his family are amazing hosts. They take great pride in the Yasur View Lodge and work hard to make it a welcoming place for guests. Thomas also makes a great guide, explaining the area and answering questions as he picks us up from the airport (Thomas is always punctual and reliable for the airport!) We walked across the road to check into the volcano tour. The perfect location, especially if you are brave enough for the sunrise tour. Thomas has a list of local tours and activities on the board in the restaurant, I highly recommend the local village ancestor tour, it was very informative and interesting. We also walked to Port Resolution from the lodge and had lunch on the white sand beach at the little restaurant there at Thomas’ recommendation and he picked us up afterwards. One evening we requested the Hot Springs trip and Thomas took us to Sulphur bay where the ocean meets the hot springs. It was a beautiful spot and we particularly loved that Thomas’ wife and children came too, watching the children play made it even more special. We hope that we can go back to visit Thomas again soon!

This is such a beautiful and peaceful location. White sand beach which slope gently into crystal clear water to swim and snorkel in . The bay is protected by the outlying islands
  • The beach at Lonnoc is absolutely beautiful. We had it all for ourselves for 5 days. You could hop from the balcony hammock straight into the turquoise waters to snorkel off the shore. The bungalow has a cool outdoor bathroom that you could use for rinsing. We went to the restaurant for our meals where you can have a nice dinner for under 2000 vatu. You can get a beer for 500 vatu. Daniel’s breakfasts were delicious with plenty of bread and amazing freshly picked fruit. We enjoyed a nice meal with Daniel. Daniel can also drive you around for between 4-80000 Vatu per leg of the trip. Make sure to bring plenty of cash if you don’t have a car and have lots of trips in mind. Champagne beach is just 10 min away by foot and worth the trip even though It is hard to beat Lonnoc beach. We could use the restaurant’s WiFi and plugs as the cabin only has a solar lamp and no sockets. Great place to disconnect unwind and relax.

  • Daniel’s bungalows are incredible! The photos showcase exactly what you can expect from the views, you are literally metres from the baby blue waters of Lonnoc beach. There are currently four bungalows which are basic, bedding was comfortable and the sound of the beach and the sea breeze will soothe you to sleep each night. The location is remote, quiet and offers the perfect getaway to get off the grid for a few days...or longer if you can afford the time...though time is not something to concern yourself with once you arrive. Daniel and Christina see that you have everything you need, can organise any additional items on request and have some of the basics at their little shop. Daniel is also happy to organise tours around the island if you want a day out to see the blue holes or other attractions on Santos.

  • This is an idyllic escape from modern life! The beach was gorgeous and Daniel and Gloriana were the absolute sweetest! Take note the wifi is not in the room and there is no access to electrical outlets in your room during the day. Unfortunately, as I was planning to work online during the day, this was an inconvenience. But if you can truly unplug, this is the place for you!

    Stephanie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in Daniel's bungalow ! To be surrounded by untouched nature was an amazing experience and Daniel and Georgina's hospitality were unique :) Daniel drove us around the island to make us discover the incredible places there is to see and he took care of everything, booking the tours for us. He gave us good tips and answered all of our questions. If you want to go off the beaten track and disconnect from the busy world we live in, this is the right place for you ! Prepare to sit down, unwind and enjoy all the island has to offer. Thank you for everything :)

    Chloé2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel's bungalow is the best in Lonnoc Beach. On the one hand because he simply has the best view, the shortest distance to the sea and because with Daniel and his family the best hosts are simply part of it. Lonnoc Beach is just great, the beach is a dream, the people are so friendly and loving and besides the pleasant tranquility there are lots of things to do. Snorkeling was great, kayaking, our boys loved collecting crabs and playing with the kids on site. With Daniel we could go on great trips or borrow his car to explore the island ourselves. We had a wonderful time and will miss Lonnoc Beach and Daniel and his family very much. We look forward to coming back sometime. We can highly recommend the accommodation!

  • Daniels place is like paradies. We enjoy the time.

    Sven2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit to Daniel and Georgina's place at Lonnoc Beach has been our favourite airbnb experience. The view from the bungalow is perfection and waking up to fresh fruit and fresh bread delivered to our veranda was the perfect start to our days there. The facilities are very basic and that is one of the attractions of staying at Daniel and Georgina's place. We hope to visit again very soon........ Mark & Joanne

    Mark2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Was very good to stay at Daniel's bungalow at Lonnoc beach. He and Georgina are very nice people and worry to provide everything you need. He offer a nice trip to Blue Holes and Port Olry beach ( no rush). The place is very simple but very clean and tide. They always take care in change the shits, replace the toilet paper, the towels, clean the bathroom and the room, bring a fresh breakfast in the morning. The view of the bungalow is so nice and you'll spend peaceful days there! You can enjoy going to Champagne Beach by kayak (30-40'), amazing trip! If you don't want to cook, there are tre places to eat at the property, with good prices, but I strongly suggest his mom's Restaurant, Louise's restaurant. We tryed the fish curry, beef Curry and battered fish with sweet potato fries, all of them was very nice and the place is very clean as well. If you prefer you can rent a small stove, just let him know at the booking. Daniel is very punctual to get you to the airport and to trips as well. Was a very good experience for us, we come back for sure!

Beautiful Beach House on your own private tropical island. Swim in deep blue water off the white sandy beach in front of the house. Snorkel amazing coral gardens, explore the unspoilt bush of the 25 acre island only 5 minutes boat ride from mainland. Search Malvanua Island online or go to you tube to see videos of this amazing space and picture yourself in your dream destination.
2 double bedrooms each with en suite shower room. Central living/dining room with fully fitted kitchen, TV/DVD player and wifi. Large covered deck with BBQ and hammocks.
The Beach House is 5 mins off the East Coast of Santo - not far from world famous Champagne Beach. You can kayak to the beautiful Matevulu Blue Hole or out to nearby Turtle Island. There are 2 resorts on the bay which welcome non-residents for lunch or dinner.
  • Where do I even start.. the moment we stepped off the plane we were greeted by Torquil who helped us with our bags and ensured we had food for the night until he took us in to go shopping the next morning. Torquil and Marianna were amazing hosts who went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable trip! The accommodation was AMAZING, the rooms are mirror images so there was so arguing over the better room. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was ample outdoor furniture to lounge around in. The kayaks were fantastic as we could kayak to dinner or explore the blue holes and islands near by. Highly recommend travelling to turtle/ dany island for a bit of snorkelling. Torquil organised and accompanied us for a day of exploring the island as we were not comfortable driving in our own. All in all we had the most magical holiday - highly recommend to anyone wanting to relax and unwind. We will defiantly be returning. Thank you Marianna and Torquil for making our holiday very special.

    Georgie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous private location and hosts. Perfect spot to relax and unwind. Great to have the kayaks to use but we spent all our time in the water or on the balcony... Excellent communication and help in getting the groceries for our week as there are no options for food and drink close by, besides the resort across the water. However we were aware of this and came fully prepared and enjoyed the jungle like surroundings whilst the clear blue waters for swimming. Hosts live on other side of island but we rarely saw them and were respectful of our space. We took beach chairs and an umbrella for basking in the shallows with a cold beverage...which I would highly recommend. Overall couldn’t fault it and would go back again..

  • I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! :-) This airbnb is incredible and beyond expectations! Having your own island, kayaking around the island, swimming in the ocean and having wonderful hosts made our holidays unforgettable! Marianne and Torquil are fantastic hosts, they picked us up from/to the airport, and took us to town to buy groceries. This is the best airbnb / island travel we have ever experienced. It will be hard to top that! Thanks again for everything and Hope to see you soon again!!

  • What can I say- this is our second time back to this beautiful piece of paradise in Vanuatu. We love everything about it and will be back again!

    Tracey2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect island getaway. Absolute peace and quite, the perfect island accommodation with lovely breezes and fantastic views over the water, and the ability to explore from there under your own steam (kayaks or swim), easily hire a car or eat at a local resort, or just do absolutely nothing. Torquil and Marianne were fantastic hosts, helped ensure we had everything we needed for our stay and also gave us local information that was invaluable on the days we explored on our own. We are hoping to be back soon.

    Stanley2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Malvanua island is a true haven. We enjoyed the absolute peace and space. Marianne and Torquil are top hosts! Torquil went out of his way to help us stock up and plan our day trips. There's plenty to do from Malvanua. Walks around the island while gently soaking in its natural beauty. Walks on the reef at low tide, but be careful stepping on the coral which is alive. We kayaked (provided by the hosts) from Malvanua to a couple of blue holes and neighbouring islands. It was an added bonus to buy freshly made coconut oil and woven bags from the locals nearby (instead of the tourist shop). Things we definitely recommend taking along to Malvanua: reef shoes, snorkeling gear, mosquito repellent. Plan to self-cater, which we thought would be difficult, but the supermarket and market at Luganville have good produce. We hope to be back soon!

    Adrien2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The setting of the house was amazing. We were very well looked after by the hosts - they grabbed some groceries for us as our arrival was late in the day and helped ferry us when needed. We were awed by their ability to skilfully master a self sufficient life on the island while coexisting as one with their environment and the local community. We loved spending evenings listening to the water at the front of the house, lazying on the hammock as well as swimming and occasional kayaking. The rainforest around the island resembled a jungle from childhood story books and provided a shady walk in the afternoons when the sun is particularly hot. The option to do nothing and enjoy a perfect break from our busy lives or fill up our time with adventurous activities such as kayaking to the blue hole or visit neighbouring resorts were equally available to us depending on how we felt on the day.

    Dalica2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I cant rate our hosts higher. They are helpful in every way, from picking up a few extra groceries for us to taking us in their boat to the local resort for a function. Considerate, respectful and accommodating. The house is clean and easy living - and the swimming just outside the front door is deep and azure. We loved our stay as it was the perfect venue to wind down after a very busy year. You can do as much or as little as you want - we chose the latter☺️

What you see on this website is a true reflection of what you will experience. An Airbnb SuperHost and Trip Advisor Excellence Award winner with over 115 'excellent' reviews. Modern pavillion style house. Ocean view from every bedroom and living area. One acre of beautifully maintained tropical gardens. 12m lap pool (green and black Italian glass mosaics) plus a large ocean pool. Stunning reef. Accom up to 6 people.
Reviews confirm what an exquisite place bukurabeachhouse is for the perfect holiday. People love it for all sorts of reasons. The residence is beautiful with exceptional grounds and ocean views where you can spread out if you are a large group and enjoy the fabulous 12m lap pool or the ocean swimming pool with tiny electric blue resident fish. It is incredibly private and the ocean view is simply spectacular, the perfect setting for your family get together, honeymoon or to write that novel you’ve always contemplated! bukurabeachhouse is situated on the waterfront of the Bukura Plantation, 15-20 mins by car from Port Vila. Entrance to the property is through a secure electronic gate, three pavilions make up the residence and each is designed to maximise stunning ocean views. Stainless steel mesh (Crimsafe) covers all louvres and doors allowing the ocean breezes to flow throughout. The main bedroom pavilion has a king size bed situated to capture the magnificent view of the ocean. There is an en suite with bath, toilet, hand basin and shower (with its own ocean view!). A balcony has steps leading to the ocean and lap pool. Next door is the living pavilion that includes the kitchen with high quality fixtures and fittings including a three metre Ceasarstone island bench and all stainless steel appliances. There is a BBQ on the balcony or you can might want to chill out in any of three comfortable couches where you can watch the ocean liners sail past in the distance, watch a DVD from the large DVD library, read a book from the book library or listen to a CD. Also in this pavilion is a small laundry with washing machine, dryer, toilet and hand basin. Eskeys and banana lounge covers are provided for your convenience. Entertaining areas abound. There are the table and chairs on the long balcony overlooking the ocean, the dining table inside the house, or another dining suite on the far side of this pavilion in a small courtyard surrounded by tropical plants. Outside there are a number of palm leaf fareas - a farea consists of a roof made with woven palm frond leaf - island style! - with lounges where you can simply relax or gaze out at the ocean pool and the coastline to Port Vila in the distance. There are two separate bedrooms in the guest pavilion. Options include a king bed or two singles depending on your requirements. All beds overlook the ocean through the beautiful tropical gardens and each bedroom has it's own dressing room with a shared bathroom which has two hand basins, Ceasarstone bench, toilet and a large shower overlooking the tropical gardens. You might want to try a swim in the ocean where you can jump off the edge of the reef into the crystal clear water and a variety of beautiful tropical fish swim with you through the colorful coral. If snorkeling is on your list of 'must dos' then you can practice in either pool before going out over the reef. Bukurabeachhouse lets you indulge in a relaxing break away from the noise and hustle bustle of the city. We respect your privacy so daily room servicing is not included but can be arranged if required at an additional cost.
The house is in an area mainly populated by Australian and New Zealand expats on land around 1-3 acres in size. It is very quiet but with lovely views across the water. Restaurants and activities are not within walking distance - about 10 mins by car. The Coco de Mer restaurant is great and the food at the Beach Bar is delicious. There is lots ot do - the Beach Bar has Friday night Fireshow and Tuesday night Movies on the Beach and Sunday night acrobatic show - all very popular. Mele Cascade Falls are also local and near the Secret Garden which has amazing artefacts, animals and stories of Vanuatu culture. You can easily drive to town for shopping and local restaurants.
  • Bukura Beach House has a great outlook with direct access to the ocean and coral reef which worked brilliantly for us as we love the marine and sea-life We watched dolphins from the garden which was lovely The pool is large and deep and great for a swim Ideal room arrangements for an extended family to be together but private if needed

    Jacqueline2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful home in stunning property with magnificent views. Bukara Beach house is situated in a great location but my only advice would be to hire a 4wd as devils point road is a dirt road that can be affected by weather. With that said it was truly amazing to wake up hearing the sound of the ocean and seeing the crystal blue water! We will definitely return to this property because Robin was an amazing host who was so fantastic with communication!!

    Wendy2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bukura Beach House is absolutely wonderful. The fact that it is about 20 minutes from the centre of Port Vila added to its appeal for us. We travelled , ( two retirees) with our teenage grandchildren and older daughter . We all like to cook so the well appointed kitchen was great for us. At the same time there are local restaurants quite handy. With its three separate pavilions everyone has their own space and privacy. What a joy to look from every window into the manicured gardens, lap pool and tidal ocean pool!!! Was lovely to sit on the roomy deck in the evening and enjoy a quiet drink.! The on site caretaker Eki is a real delight. As are her children!! Nothing was too much trouble for her and it was nice just chatting to her. Similarly, communicating with the owner, Robin was easy and she was always happy to give us tips and advice. The information package she emails on booking is extensive and informative as well as being interesting! In short you could not go past Bukura Beach House as a place to wind down a spend time getting to know the real Vanuatu. We will definitely return.

    Sally2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic property and Robin the owner was very good at maintaining communication throughout. The family onsite looking after the property were fantastic and considerate. The property has everything you need and is a great place to unwind. You can find plenty of space on the property for both kids and parents to relax and have fun. Hope to be back soon.

  • This property is an amazing place to stay. It is beautifully designed with seperate sleeping and living arrangements which is ideal for large families or groups. There is travel involved getting in and out but thats part of the fun and the distance ensures you get great views and privacy. Robin is great to deal with she was always prompt at getting onto any issues that arose and was most helpful. Couldn't recommend Robins place enough!

    Stephen2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay has everything you need location was perfect and views to die for. Thanks for having us to stay

  • We loved our stay at Bukura Beachhouse! Vanuatu is a very special place and Robin’s house is a fantastic base to explore. Set in lush gardens overlooking the sea this place is ideal to relax. With multiple on-purpose outdoor areas you could easily spend the entire day in the great outdoors in total holiday mode. The Rockpool is ideal for children and parents alike. We felt comfortable our entire stay. We enjoyed the proximity to lots of local attractions. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

    Kristy2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great facilities, great location, private getaway and awesome local couple living on site. 300 to 500 VUV each person gets you a ride into Port Vila. Watch the steps into the Ocean Pool as when wet they are slippery. Great having the main house seperate to the two bedroom blocks. Not a mosquito in site. Robin is a fabulous host who replied to any questions quickly. This is our 5th holiday in Vanuatu and will definately choose to stay at Bukura Beach House again.

The local people on Pele Island and neighbouring Nguna island are very welcoming and always keen to share their customs and knowledge of their piece of Vanuatu.
  • Wow... Just wow! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Charlie and his family for the most incredible stay at Turtle Beach bungalow! Also a huge thanks to Marty for organising the transport from Port Vila to Pele and all of his quick responses. Charlie went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay. The home cooked meals were delicious and substantial! Charlie took us over to Nguna and organised with the local village there for us to walk up the extinct volcano. After the 4hr walk the lovely locals had fresh coconuts, bananas and lemon water for us. The snorkeling straight off the bungalow was incredible and the bungalow being as private as it was made us feel like we had the whole island to ourselves. Charlie also took us snorkeling and fishing where we missed out on seeing a dugong but saw lots of beautiful reef fish and turtles. We were lucky enough for Charlie to catch and cook some fish for our dinner. After reading a lot of the reviews we were glad that we packed a few extra supplies like head torches, snacks (including 3 in 1 coffee sachets!) and a battery pack charger. Thank you again for an amazing stay, we can't wait to visit again!

    Emily2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed six nights by myself at Turtle Beach Bungalow. I'm not someone who normally travels solo but I had the time of my life! Highlights (in no particular order!): Snorkelling the coral gardens up the coast of Nguna Island; helping to plant new coral gardens in a neighbouring village; stand up paddle boarding in the middle of a pod of dolphins; hiking to the highest point of the island; having whole, crispy skinned fish for dinner (freshly speared by Charley); and relaxing on the beach every evening watching all the turtles right in front of me! I'm not a very outdoorsy person and I found everything totally adequate, but do note that this place is really basic. You are living island style. There's limited solar power to charge your phone and run a fan, and that's about it. You will see some bugs and plenty of ants and you will get used to 2 minute showers. If you need a lot of home comforts this may not be the right accommodation for you! But seriously this is not a place where you spend a lot of time inside - if you're keen to explore this beautiful island and get amongst the local lifestyle, food, and sloooow pace, then staying here is just perfect. A couple of tips: take your own snacks/supplies from the mainland, there's no fridge but you can boil water; take up Charley's offer of food at least a few times (I did breakfast and/or dinner every day, about $5 will get you a home-cooked Pele Island meal); take plenty of insect repellent; take ear plugs (because jungle noises can be scary at night time, even though there's nothing dangerous in there!); and don't be afraid to call or text Charley if you need anything, or if anything has broken. If you feel like an adventure then ask him - he might take you out on the boat fishing/snorkelling for a few vatu, or send his son as an island tour guide, or let you know about things happening in the villages, or even show you where to buy a cold beer on the island (there are no shops). If you want privacy then you might like to let him know - but note that this is island life, people drift past and sometimes turn up to fix things etc. I absolutely adored Pele Island, I loved the dogs Milky and Chocolate (who are a permanent fixture at the bungalow), and I loved spending time with Charley and his family, and Marty (who happened to be in Vanuatu but isn't always). This experience was unique, adventurous and relaxing all at once - I will be back!

  • Where to start on reviewing our amazing stay? What a place, what hosts, what food, what a trip. Charlie’s family and Marty were astonishing hosts and looked after us incredibly. We spent our time laying on the pristine beach, snorkelling the wonderful local reefs, exploring the wild island and mingling with the beautiful local islanders (not to mention their beautiful dogs, who are great walking guides!) We were also able to get a bit of deep sea swimming and fishing in as well. Our hosts were wonderful enough to cook us the caught fish, which was delicious. Regarding the food - wow. Charlie and Sepora’s cooking was astonishing and they kept us well fed, as well as being so hospitable. We cant’t wait to return and see the new developments of the property; it sounds so exciting! We couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

  • Thank you to Marty and Charly for a great stay on Pele. We love visiting and had a wonderful trip, we will be back to visit!

    Jen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful private beach, great snorkeling and picture perfect sunsets. We had a lovely few days at the bungalow. Thanks Charlie and family for lovely meals and chats.

    Ruby2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • amazing place! only a surprisingly short trip from Port Vila. Charlie is a total legend! and a mean cook (you get fed 3 ace meals a day - all local, fresh, soulful stuff) super friendly & genuine locals. Great place to unplug, dive out of bed and snorkel with a turtle! yep. I feel very lucky that it was possible for me to stay at a place like this.

    Benjamin2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Pele - a slice of paradise. Incredible location and stunning beaches. Charlie was an excellent host and the food was fantastic (loved the banana pancakes!). He also went out of his way to return belongings we left on the island - champion. Thanks Charlie!

    Elle2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful uncut diamond set in Paradise and I would recommend this to anyone who has ever wanted to experience a slice of life outside of their city based comforts. If you truely want to disconnect and find some peace this is for you. Every aspect of hospitality and respect was shown and the host was super friendly and helpful to answer a barrage of questions that followed. This is as close to naturally living in nature as you will get and it should not be confused with silver service afternoon tea at the ritz. It's an ideal simple setting for getting away, a safe and clean place and with the natural world on your doorstep

  • We had an extremely relaxing stay at Moso. Loved every minute of it! This was the perfect space to enjoy with our two families. Plenty of space for the kids to run around, great snorkelling straight from the shore, fun kayaking and a very relaxed, peaceful vibe. Would strongly recommend bringing your own food and drink supplies so you can stay in and do very little. Overall, a really lovely island experience. Wish we had’ve been able to stay longer!

    Melanie2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome time at the Moso Beach House. Exactly what I was after. Perfect setting and the accommodation was great. Relaxation personified! And everyone was so helpful and hospitable. It was so easy dealing with Joel and everyone else at The Moso Vanuatu. Even though you wernt part of the resort you felt as though you were. Highly recommend coming here and ill be back again!

    Jarrad2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Beach House is truly one of a kind. To help all future guests we thought it would be beneficial to provide as much feedback and tips as we can! The Beach House is not necessarily part of the resort on Moso, however Joel, Anton and the team do everything they can to make your stay as amazing as they can by organising day trips, coordinating grocery shops, and even baking a birthday cake! We recommend asking to stop at the supermarket and local market on your way in to stock up on all the food you'll need for your trip. The house has basics to use but if you are planning on cooking most meals yourself (the alternative is to dine at the resort, which was such a treat in itself!) make sure you over-cater your food supplies as its a bit of a mission to travel back to pick up forgotten food. You can place a grocery order with the resort but at the moment they are only able to collect this for you on Tuesday's and Saturday's. Bring reef shoes! The beach right outside the house has amazing coral and sea life to explore, but the coral can be sharp so its worth protecting your feet. Bring a pair of runners so you can walk easily to the secret beach on the other side of the island too. Things happen on "Island Time", so surrender yourself to a fluid timeline! Being completely off-grid, the resort is doing an amazing job to provide such a unique experience on Moso. We can't thank the staff for such an amazing experience, in particular Joel, Anton, Helen and Anna. We will definitely be back!

  • Oh. My. Goodness! This place is a dream and is even better than the pictures. The beds are comfy, the snorkeling right in front of the house is amazing and the caretakers of the house are genuinely sweet. We loved our week here and were absolutely heartbroken to leave.

  • We just got back from a great trip to Vanuatu including a week at Whispering Palms. Booking and contact with Marcello was great with quick responses by email every time. Whispering Palms is a great spot to relax but still has plenty of options. We hired a car, which certainly made things easy, but using the local buses is also an option. The caretakers, John and his wife Silvi looked after us, but there were no issues with the property at all. The kitchen has everything you need and we cooked plenty of meals including local Coral Trout on the Weber. I took a travel rod and had some great sessions bottom bashing with bait, catching one coral trout after another. We did have to get used to a few 'bumps in the night' with a few of the local dogs barking loudly one night. There was some great snorkelling straight out front of the property but you need to go at full tide to make it easier to manage the coral. We also walked a little further down the beach where there is a break in the coral and you can snorkel any time. The property is an easy drive from Port Vila. We combined a few day trips which passed through Port Vila - so we could pick up some more groceries. Morrisons Shop just up the road is okay for some biscuits, chips, noodles and drinks but you need to get all your staples in town. Overall a great place to relax but still plenty to keep everyone busy.

    Lester2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Whispering Palms is an amazing property. Silvi and John who caretake the property live in the neighbouring village, Siviri and they are very kind and welcoming. They helped us with any questions and with arranging a boat trip out to Pele Island. Our kids had a great time playing with the kids from the village too. The snorkelling off the beach is amazing and the reef so untouched! Having the kayaks to paddle off shore in was great too. The houses are rustic but comfortable and have everything you need to self cater. Loved being able to pick a paw paw straight from the tree on the property for breakfast. We hired a car to explore the island more as the property is quite a distance from Port Vila but local mini buses pass by regularly too and bread is delivered straight to your door. Such a magic spot and we hope to return again. Consider bringing soccer balls for the kids in the local village and school and also some stationary such as pencils and books for the local school. We arranged a visit to the primary school at Emua with the school principal who was more than happy to show us her school and let us spend time with a class. It was a great experience for our kids.

  • Fabulous holiday

    Sharyn2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Whispering Palms is a gorgeous holiday spot. It is a little oasis of its own, a place to escape and relax with the beach at your door step set in beautiful garden surrounds. As a family of 5 we used both the beach bungalows, the kids in the boat house and space to our selves in the cottage which worked out perfectly. The accommodation was fantastic, clean and homely with all the necessities of a great batch. The hammocks, kayaks, snorkeling gear and bar-b-que are some of the real pluses. Although the location is slightly remote north of Port Vila it provided an authentic Vanuatu experience, which we loved. Having the Siviri village next door and interacting with the friendly local children along the beach was just wonderful. We did catch the local bus which was fun but found with a longer stay hiring a car was the best way for us to explore the whole island, take day tours and eat out. Overall the organisation, information and contact by the hosts Marcello and Tina was excellent throughout the booking and stay. We also really appreciated the wonderfully warm welcome and send off from the caretakers John and Silvi. Thank you for sharing your amazing property. We highly recommend Whispering Palms as outstanding holiday accommodation and would definitely love to return one day.

  • Visiting North Efate is like stepping into another world, where everything slows down, life is simpler and everyone is genuinely friendly. Marcelo and Tina’s ‘Whispering Palms’ is a paradise within this paradise. The accommodation is very comfortable and modern/contemporary without feeling too precious. They have some of the best snorkelling in Vanuatu just off the beach and plenty of space to laze away the days reading or swimming either on the beach or in the beautiful grounds of Whispering Palms. Marcelo and Tina sent an extensive list of things to do or see and suggestions on ways to get around. We opted for renting a Moke from World Car Rentals and this was fantastic fun way to get around (perhaps not the most practical but definitely great fun with the top down cruising around). We also used Arthur (who lives next door) and his taxi to get in to Port Vila a couple of times and he is very reliable and good gentle company. If you want nightlife, constant stimulation , high speed internet and the buzz and excitement of the city, North Efate (and probably Vanuatu as a whole) is probably not for you. If you want beautiful scenery, friendly locals, comfortable accommodation, tropical climate, warm clear water teaming with colourful fish, coral and the odd turtle, then put Whispering Palms on you must do list. You won’t be disappointed.

  • An amazing Air BnB worth every great review on here. It is exactly as described and was so tranquil and peaceful. We hadn't been to Vanuatu before and are so glad we did. Everybody is so warm and friendly and they go out of their way to get to know you and help you in anyway possible. John and Silvi (the housekeepers) are a prime example of this and Silvis laugh and warmth is infectious. The location is quite isolated with no shops or restaurants within walking distance and thats what makes this place great, you really feel you are imbedded within island life and is a world away from the resorts in Port VIla. We toyed with not renting a car and am glad we did in the end, the island is tiny but with a car we had the freedom to visit the amazing natural sites and great restaurants. There is a guide which Marcello and Tina provide when booking and the depth of knowledge is amazing. We pretty much went to every suggestion they said and the food recommendations were spot on. They are also amazing at answering any questions you may have and were very quick with responses. The beach out the front of the house isn't ideal to swim in but we went on regular kayak trips and there are more amazing beaches round the corner so this was never a problem. It really felt like we had left the hustle and bustle of city life behind and had gone back to basics with the nature. Highly recommended Air BnB and lots of thought has clearly gone in to the place. I did a lot of research on accommodation before and couldn't have been happier with the choice.

    Jenna2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed by gracious hosts who really made sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. The location is away from the hustle of Port Vila yet close to day trips to other islands and popular spots. It’s easy to get around by local bus and plenty of swimming spots within walking distance. We stayed in the beach house for two weeks with our toddler and he enjoyed playing with the local children next door. We recommend getting fresh produce at the market in Port Vila as the shops can be expensive for some items. Overall a great place to unwind and experience local culture.

  • It's hard to find the right words to describe how amazing our experience was. We went to the house in a group of 11 people in their 30s and spent a lot of time at the house since most of us were working remotely. The support: Even before we got the island, Christiana went above and beyond to provide us a great experience. She arranged things like car rental with discount, private boat rental, transfer service, Christmas tree for the house, suggestions of place to eat, grocery store, etc, etc. Once we arrived, Christiana came to the house to say hello and kept giving us all the support needed, replying to WhatsApp messages and calling us every time we had a need, even during Christmas and new year. She acted fast when we had an issue with our fridge, gave us more recommendations and even helped with a medical emergency. It was like having a great local friend on the island. Apart from that, Eva also provided great support. She was around the house every day making it clean and tidy. She's very shy but it was great to get to know her a bit better. She invited us to a water dance ritual in which she was part, and we all loved the experience (make sure to ask her about it!). The house: I must say that the stay at the house far exceeded our expectations. There's just so much space to hang out around it. It never felt as if we were too many (even though we were 11!). There are different sofas, tables, and chairs all over the place, and the balcony is huge. Talking about the balcony, the view is simply breathtaking. Waking up and having nothing but the ocean, rocks, and trees around is priceless. There are no sounds other than waves and birds, and no nearby neighbors either. The house is surrounded by the balcony and you can pretty much open all walls which are sliding doors, making the balcony just an extension of the living room. We've left all these sliding doors opened for the whole trip. Another highlight is the natural swimming pool. I don't think the pictures really capture how majestic that place really is. The color of the water is mindblowing, and you can even see some different families of small fishes who live in the pool. Looking around you can also see a great extent of the island's coast. We've watched many sunsets at the pool and It's hard to imagine something more heavenly. The house is really well equipped with amenities. They just got a new sound system (JBL boombox) which was really appreciated. We had music playing during our whole trip, both in the house and in the swimming pool thanks to these speakers. The house also has things like hats and coral shoes which we borrowed throughout our stay. Apart from that, the kitchen is also well equipped and you will have no problem cooking and serving a large group. There's also a lot of space around the house. You can find space to play volleyball or other similar outdoor activities. The garden is also beautiful and well maintained. Worth going around if you have time. Parking multiple cars is also not a problem. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious and clean, look at the pictures from the house and you won't have any surprises. The beds were comfortable and Eva made the beds every day. I'll finish saying that Vanuatu is an amazing place, but the house played a huge deal on our holiday. The group was constantly mentioning how the house was being a highlight during our stay. I definitely recommend staying at this house if you want to have an amazing time.

  • We had a fabulous time at Vila Senang Masari. The views from the dining balcony over the ocean, with those magical sunsets were much loved (& photographed) and will feature in beautiful memories of good times had by all at this amazing holiday destination.

    Marian2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The sounds of the ocean, your own private rockpool and a great housekeeper made sure we had a relaxing holiday. Tamanu Resort, about 1km down the road had the best food on the island.

    Nigel2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very smart house that is set up like a home. It has everything you could want and an amazing swimming hole. Eva the house keeper is delightful and very helpful. There are a number of quality restaurants nearby, but shopping should be done in Vila beforehand. A Hilux or similar is recommended as the dirt roads are fairly rough. Overall excellent.

    Alexander2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a dream! Large, bright, it can accommodate many while having each his privacy. Even in gray weather there are plenty of places to hang out and enjoy the view you never tire of!

  • This is such an amazing place. Perfect for a get away with friends. The house got it all and you don't need to go anywhere to have a great time. If you want to go to town make sure you rent a car as it's about 30-45 minutes away. Also make sure all the valuable are locked away.

    Elodie2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We came here to celebrate my 65th birthday and we had a fabulous time. The villa is a lovely space and the bedrooms are perfect. Everyone loved the rock pool and the views of the ocean. • We loved our stay at Kooyu. The villa was perfect for us! Such a peaceful and relaxing space and the kitchen is incredibly well equipped which made shopping at the fruit/ veg market and supermarket even more enticing. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too! Getting into town takes about 15 minutes and by private bus (which Christine organised for us), was 2000vt. Coming back to Kooyu we caught a local bus outside the fruit/veg market which was 200vt each and all the drivers were very friendly and trusting. The restaurant nearby Kooyu at Paradise Cove Resort had a really nice atmosphere for dinner and great food (although we found it a bit pricey). The team at Kooyu were all very friendly and offered cleaning services if desired and a phone call away should you need anything/ help. Wifi was pretty good too! Would definitely come back to Kooyu Villas- it was the perfect place to unwind in a stylish and lovely setting. Definitely recommend!

    Millie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kooyu villas are stunning, we were so happy we decided to stay there - beautifully appointed, incredible location, possibly the best location on the island. Snorkelling at high tide right out front, paddle board and a kayak available for whenever you want. Blissful. Well equipped kitchen for all your self catering needs - which we would recommend as eating out gets expensive very quickly. About 15 mins drive from town - you can easily get one of the many local buses right out front of the villa. Minutes walk to several lovely resort restaurants. Note: the Bon Marche supermarket is VERY expensive. Get as little as possible there and then shop local markets. You won't be disappointed if you choose Kooyu.

  • Our second stay at this awesome villa. Right on the beach, with a fire every night, this place is heaven. Massive thanks to Brad and Christine for helping make the stay unforgettable.

  • Location is stunning, villa is well equipped perfect spot for chilling and getting away from stress of big city. All you need to bring are a few books.

    Sean2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot. Bring reef shoes for swimming. Beach is tidal. Snorkelling is awesome. If you don't have snorkelling gear, Brad will provide you with some. Recommend doing some grocery shopping at Le Bon Marche (just out of town, not the one next to the fresh food market) before heading out so that you have plenty of supplies. Also consider hiring a car for a couple of days to have the freedom to explore on your own terms. Villa is gorgeous - loved the outdoor shower in the private courtyard. Special thanks to Christine and Winnie for your care and beautiful smiles.

  • Stu's was a lovely and convenient place for our short stay on the island of Efate. Also a great location, the town centre is 5 minutes away from the nearby bus stop (150VT), but is still very quiet at night. The fresh water pool is amazing and shared with the hosts and other guests. Stu and his family are lovely and gracious people. The fans are provided in the bungalow are enough to keep cool. Separate kitchen provides the basics, including a washing machine. We highly recommend this place and thank Stu and his family for making our stay very pleasant.

  • The space was beautiful and Stu gave us plenty of tips for seeing the island!

  • This is probably the best value for money AirBnB on Efaté. Stu is very well organised and offers a useful direct transfer from the airport. He allowed us to drop off our bags well before check in time and also encouraged us to stay and have an extra shower and swim when our flights were delayed 12 hours. The space that Stu has created is truly amazing. The pool area gives a great view over the water. It’s a great place to eat breakfast or read a books. The Kiwi Nest itself is well set out and comfortable with quality facilities (easy to cook at home). The location is also very close to town as well as the major supermarket. Would highly recommend

"The place was gorgeous, even better than the photos with everything you could possibly need including the most amazing private view of the lagoon and thoughtful touches everywhere.” - Brian and Karissa
What was once little used under-house storage and spare bedrooms has been totally transformed into a uniquely 'beach industrial' styled, one bedroom guest apartment. Accommodation consists of an open plan kitchen/living room, which has a custom made over-sized pallet sofa that is perfect for chilling out, napping, reading, and watching DVDs or Netflix. The kitchen has all the essentials to prepare your own meals. The bedroom has a super comfy Queen sized bed with aircon, ceiling fan, plenty of space to unpack and make yourself at home, and a stunning view of the lagoon to wake up to! Spare linen is provided along with a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board can also be provided on request, and you are welcome to use the washing machine in our place upstairs. The windows are fitted with mosquito / security screens so you can avail of the cooling lagoon breezes all day and night. There is a stereo, book swap, and selection of DVDs and reading material in the living room. Access to the lagoon is available just a short stroll away via the Ramada resort, where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks to head out on the water. We live on site with our three super friendly and well behaved dogs Kylie (German Shepherd) and sisters Fabes and Sadie (German Short Haired Pointer cross), and are more than happy to help out with ideas for things to do and see. We look forward to hosting your stay!
We are located in an area called ‘Nambatri' (number three in Bislama, the local language) a residential neighbourhood that is five minute drive from the town centre. A short stroll down the end of our road is the Ramada resort, which is a great place to get public transport, arrange tour or airport pickups, and take advantage of their poolside cocktail happy hours or rent kayaks and paddle boards to explore the lagoon. Also close by is a number of other resorts, restaurants, day spas and a well stocked supermarket. A little further afield but still just an easy bus ride is the gorgeous Honeymoon Beach in Pango.
  • Derek and Rik were the most accommodating, kind and helpful hosts we've ever had. They gave us so many great tips and advice regarding location, things to do and sights to see, and they were very quick to respond to our every query! The Bunker itself is absolutely gorgeous - very stylish and minimal with a fantastic air conditioner in the bedroom. It looks out onto the lagoon and some beautiful flowers and trees. The space was clean and tidy, and we were treated with some fresh fruit, wine, biscuits and coffee! The location was great - it was not too far from the main town and getting a bus was easy as the Bunker is a two minute walk from the Ramada Resort (from where you can also get picked up for tours, or enjoy their facilities for a small fee!). It's about a 10ish minute walk to the nearest supermarket, and about 30 to get to the main town markets and shops. We highly recommend The Bunker to any couples venturing to Vanuatu! It will truly make the experience worthwhile. Thank you again Derek and Rik! :)

  • Staying at Rik and Derek's place really made our trip. From the moment we got there, we felt taken care of. Our first night was spent in a serviced apartment next door, due to the power being out. Derek and Rik were quick and easy communicators. After everything was fixed, they refunded us for that night and also the days we were at Tanna Island. We were able to cook for ourselves, watch Netflix, play Nitendo, and enjoy the view. We grew attached to the dogs, and it made the bunker feel more like home. We were sad to leave, but hope to come back.

  • This is one of the best places and hosts youll ever find on airbnb Hosts are absolutely lovely and really go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and welcome, offering pick ups from the airport and lifts on check out to where you need to go! The dogs are adorable and friendly and definitely made my day seeing them happily walk up to come visit you.

  • Derek and Rik are the kindest and most helpful hosts. The house is super stylish (ways too cool for me!) And their communication and hospitality was excellent. I would recommend a trip here, they can give you lots of helpful tips for your stay :)

    Fern2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Bunker was amazing. Super stylish and great view/location. Felt like home for 4 days. While Derek was away, Rik was an outstanding host even while on crutches going outof his way to ensure our comfort and also show us around the town and his work. Thanks guys, highly recommended.

    Jamie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable and spacious stay at Derek and Riks' place. They are very well-equipped and there are 3 friendly dogs to greet you everyday =) we had a good time!

Peacefully located at the back street of a very quiet neighborhood (a little 10 min walk to the main street). It is secured with bars on the windows, digital dead bolt lock for late self-checkin. The bungalow is located in a back street with a no through road. Only local traffic access the area and being one of the last houses of the neighborhood we can guarantee you quiet days and nights.
Bellevue is located in Between the USP and Tassiriki. It is a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Located 5 minutes driving distance from most schools and groceries store.
  • Clean and bright space to lay your head after a day in the sun. The place is immaculate and the host is full of kindness and thoughtfulness. Great location and Charlotte is full of great tips to help you enjoy the most this lovely island has to offer. We’ll be back again!

    Maud2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Charlotte for being a wonderful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Port Vila. The place was spotless and very comfortable with a very easy check in. Once you find the shortcuts and figure out the buses the location is fine. It worked well for us for our longer term stay.

    Will2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • A small design bungalow, quiet location (but it does mean walking a bit for transportation). Thank you Charlotte for the extras (outdoor kitchen with all you need and enlarged bathroom), it was a nice surprise on arrival. It is ideal as a base in Port Vila! Nambawan!

    Josselin2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte’s place is a really cute and lovely place to stay with the couple. It’s a bit far by walk from town but she knows an amazing driver who can pick you up and bring you to the city in 10 min. :) it was a really nice staying.

  • Very nice apartment to land.

    Palouwamo2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte has a beautiful room with lovely touches. She was kind enough to look after our suitcases which we really appreciated. She has little extras in the room like tea, coffee, fridge and a few extra things in the fridge to eat. It is great value for money.

    Kelly2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Would thoroughly recommend Charlotte's studio as a perfect place to explore and enjoy Port Vila.

    David2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, beautifully decorated. Charlotte’s husband was incredibly kind and gave us a lift into town. Some minor bugs in the room but not an issue for us - to be expected in that part of the world. The WiFi is intermittent but again we were told about this prior to our arrival, and it seems to be sporadic all over the island. Overall a wonderful experience and lovely family. Would recommend.

  • Staying at Mele Bay In Cathy’s Bungalow was a big highlight of our stay. Such beautiful surroundings and views in a rural spot just 15 minutes out of Port Villa. The air conditioning fans and pool made it a cool retreat from the heat and amazing days of activities that Vanuatu has to offer for families with teenage kids. Having cable TV helped keep everyone entertained at night and Jerry was always there to fix any issues that developed. We had a great stay. I would highly recommend for other guests the zip line, Pele Island and hideaway island for snorkelling. Turtle Bay to had feed turtles and hold them and swim with them. Blue Lagoon for cool swimming and swinging from ropes into the lagoon and Au Fare restaurant for food. Thanks Cathy and Jerry for a great stay and 10/10 holiday.

The Surf House offers a beautiful tropical oasis garden and is located just a few minutes from the best Surf Beaches around Port Vila. You’ll love the place because of the outdoors space and the walking distance to the Erakor Lagoon where you will have great snorkelling! We also offer stand up paddle boards that you can use anytime during your stay! You will also be close to family-friendly activities such as Golf, Tennis, Swimming pool, also close from public transport, and the city center.
The Surf House has a fully equipped kitchen, offers a great master bedroom with its private bathroom and private outdoor relaxing area.
Very quite neighbourhood as we are on a private road with no traffic!
  • Fantastic spot! Thomas and Fanny are incredible hosts who make you feel welcome in Vanuatu from the moment you arrive. Their house is located a 5 minute drive out of Port Vila which was perfect as we were staying for a month whilst working in the hospital and wanted a bit of privacy and quiet. The property is located 100m from Erakor lagoon (beautiful) and walking distance to a number of quality resorts and restaurants. They had paddle boards available for us to use, and we even had a surf lesson with Thomas which was fantastic. The wifi is a bit sketchy (however this seems to be a common theme throughout vanuatu) so I wouldn't suggest staying here if you rely on staying connected, however if you are looking for a beautiful location a bit off the beaten track with everything you need, the Surfhouse is perfect! I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Julia2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay all thanks to Fanny, Thomas and fam! (including Sanko) Felt welcome, safe and comfortable in their space. If you’re travelling with a surfboard or you’ve thinking of giving it a crack Thomas is your man. His aptitude and energy in the water is incredible and his coaching is nothing short of amazing. Family went the extra mile when one of our party got crook. Honest reliable information and suggestions to help you navigate port villa! Thanks for the stay

    Mark2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Overall beautiful place. Hosts are amazing. Paddle boards are a big bonus. There is only aircon in 1 of the two bedrooms so if you need aircon, take note of that. The extra touches of bread and coffee really helped! Finding the place is tricky though, but well worth staying out of town!!

    Alida2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We are a family of four: two kids 11 and 13. The space was great for us; enough room. Very hot so air con in the kids room was useful. We found the location very good; quiet but easy to get to town on the local buses which come by all the time. We rented a car twice; once for going around Efate and the other for going to see places and buy souvenirs around town. Recommended! We also took advantage of Thomas’ surf lessons. I had never surfed before and was definitely challenged: the lessons were invigorating and rewarding when we actually caught waves in the water! Some worthwhile places to eat or drink just along Pangoa Road: Cafe Vila and Breakas resort, just a few minutes walk away. But bring a torch for the dark roads! The kitchen was very good for cooking our own meals. As everyone says, Thomas and Fanny were always available and willing to help with local advice and tips. Great home base for Port Vila. Would definitely come here again.

    Brendan2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great option if you prefer to do Vanuatu your way. Fanny and Thomas are fantastic hosts and the location is great, a short walk to the beautiful Erakor Lagoon where you can paddle to the resort for a sundowner or coffee. We appreciated Fanny and Thomas’s local knowledge and their breezy, homey space. Highly recommend a surf lesson with Thomas too!

    Penny2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, we absolutely enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. We also felt very safe ( mother traveling alone with two kids). My son loved the opportunity to surf everyday. Two resorts very close by, if you want to go out for dinner or swim in a pool for a change. It was also very easy to get to port villa. But the best part were Fanny and Thomas. They are such positiv and nice people and were always happy to help. They also took us to the movies, we loved it. Thank you, we enjoyed our time very much. We strongly recommend this place und would always come back. It was hard to leave.

    Britta2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • After having read all the wonderful reviews prior to travelling to the Surf House, it had quite a bit to live up to!! True to form the place was great but he hospitality of Fanny and Thomas was second to none. They truly were great people and extremely helpful with local tips on where to go and how to Surf and paddleboard. A true credit to the Air Bnb

    Michael2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Go surfing! Housing very nicely decorated, very well furnished and extremely clean. Fanny and Thomas are very hospitable and the place is ideal for surfers (beginners or advanced). We could not test the surf school of Fanny and Thomas, but were amazed by the learning method put in place by their care. It's about we will come back ...

A quiet cul-de-sac property only 200 meters from a popular surf location and surf school. A number of resorts within walking distance make relaxation, family friendly activities, and dining easy and diverse. Twenty minutes from the airport, five minutes from local supermarket, and ten minutes from town by cheap, regular, local transport. Despite all of this proximity, the property is relaxed and it is easy to imagine you are much further away from the hustle and bustle. Free airport transfers.
The spacious studio is in a yard with 2 other houses occupied by the owner and family. It is secure, clean and comfortable, situated to catch the sea breezes. There is a large verandah with day bed as well as outdoor setting. It is fully furnished and equipped with all the essentials - bed linen, towels, beach towels, kitchen and dining utensils. In the studio is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas stove and full sized fridge.
The property is set in a quiet location with easy access to public transport and other facilities. There are many family friendly activities easily accessible - golf, tennis, catamaran hire. Le Lagon resort is just 5 minutes walk away. Here you can have access to all the facilities including gym, and swimming pools in a day pass - approx AU$18 per person per day. Erakor Island resort is only a sort boat ride away. And Nasama resort is less than 10 minutes walk away. Both of these resorts also have day passes available.
  • Great location, and very well appointed studio. Carmen and the family were very welcoming.

    Elodie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, we enjoyed the staying a lot. There is a little private beach next to the house that makes it feel like paradise. The house is spotless and very relaxing. Close to the center but at the same time far enough to have zero noise. Would 100% recommend this place. The family is very helpful, respectful and nice. Won’t go wrong here!

    Kristian2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, right near Erakor Island ferry. Pack your reef shoes and it's a two minute walk to the ferry or to the Warwick Resort where you can also do day trips. You can also catch the bus at the end of the street if you prefer. We spent most of our days on Erakor as day-trippers for half the price of actually staying on there. It's a beautiful island and you are directly opposite it. You can also just snorkel at the beach at the end of the street - we bought reef shoes which really helped at low tide, otherwise it can be a bit tricky. Carmen was away while we were there but her parents Roger and Henya were absolutely fantastic hosts, welcoming and as ex-pats of over 30 years in Vanuatu, rich in knowledge about where to go and, as we were very interested in the culture in Vanuatu, they were also a great source of information. Very tidy and neat apartment with everything you need and easy to get into town with the buses at the end of the street going literally every minute. We had our 11 year old son with us and they organised a spare mattress for him but there was also a click clack sofa bed which we could also have used but we opted for using that as a lounge instead. Very comfortable queen bed. I have a bad back so this was a big concern for me and it was great! Roger picked us up and dropped us to the airport. Would definitely stay here again and we totally recommend it. We totally recommend the Erakasup cultural tour as well for a great day out and a fabulous insight into the local culture.

    Marc2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Carmen’s Airbnb because it was sparkling clean and it had many thoughtful touches. We also enjoyed having breakfast on the outside deck as well as relaxing on the day bed. There is a beautiful lagoon a short walk away for a swim or snorkel. Carmen was also very flexible with our checkin and checkout times that was very much appreciated.

  • Carmen’s place is the perfect accomodation for a self-sufficient stay in Vanuatu. A lovely location, great deck, well stocked apartment and kitchen with everything you could need. The host family were lovely, friendly and extremely helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Carmen’s place, and hope to stay here again in the future. Thanks so much!

  • This is a great location. Easy access to the city using public buses. Great desk space to lounge about on, especially breakfasting to the sunrise. Good kitchen facilities meant we could make use of the local stores and be self sufficient. Swimming at the end of the lane. Our hosts were very welcoming, and the dogs were lovely. A holidaying spot that will really allow you to chill out.

Onsite night-time security guard to ensure guests safety.
This is the neighbourhood where my husband grew up. We love it because its away from the hustle and bustle of town and there are so many attractions on our doorstep. Our villa is the only one on our property surrounded by ocean, river and tropical gardens. (The grounds are large so our caretaker lives in a seperate dwelling on site).
  • My grown up daughter and myself spent a week at Villa Mali. For both of us it was exactly what we were looking for. A space away from stress and hustle and bustle of urban life. Most of our time we just spent around the outdoor space of the villa, reading or just daydreaming with the occasional outings to Port Vila to get fresh fish to cook on the bbq provided. Early morning swims in the ocean and late afternoon snorkelling at nearby Hideaway Island and a one day car hire to do the loop around Efate Island were our main activities during the seven days we stayed there. The sparkling plunge pool always was a few degrees cooler than the ocean and provided relief when midday temperatures were hot. The shower had very good water pressure, the bed was super comfortable, house keeping was excellent. I definitely would stay at Vila Mali again in the future.

    Ruth2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to relax and get away! The accommodation is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. We took advantage of the direct beach access and pool everyday. Close by is one of the most lively places on the island, Beach Bar, that has great casual food, entertainment on the weekends, and a Tuesday movie night. We made the walk several nights barefoot down the beach for a casual dinner and then a relaxing walk back with the waves lapping at our feet. At the end of the day, you can wade into the protected waters of the bay and enjoy the colours the sunset across the water. It's also easy to get into town. Walk down the drive to the main road and you can pick up a local bus to take you into 'Vila to do a grocery shop or to try the restaurants in town. the arrival pickup at the airport and stop at the Au Bon Marche grocery store was extra bit of hospitality that made the start of our trip effortless. Thanks, Samara for a wonderful break!

    Robert2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a relaxing stay at Samara's place. All the staff there were friendly and accommodating. We loved the fact that the beach was so close to the house. We enjoyed swimming at the beach every morning. Also the plunge pool was refreshing, especially at night. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We thought that it would be hard to catch a bus from here but this was not the case. There were plenty of buses driving through the village. We thought this was a great place to stay for a couple's getaway.

    Hamza2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is wow, this is one amazing place, from the time we arrived to the time we left everything about our stay was first class. I almost don't want to share a review as once I do many more people will know about how fantastic it is to stay here and we both really want to come back.

    Jane2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Samara's place is absolutely worth staying in! it's a very cosy place right next to the beach and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Vanuatu. Samara was also really helpful beforehand in providing information and arranging a pick-up and Sam took care of everything else there. I highly recommend this place.

    Maria2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing location, a beach stroll to the local bar and only slightly further to hideaway island at low tide for snorkelling at the reef, only metres off the beach! Being picked up from the airport in the middle of the night was a very thoughtful touch - over and above what we expected. We’ll be recommending Samara’s place to anyone travelling to Vanuatu. A much better experience than the typical resorts!

    Graham2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing little gem in your own little slice of paradise! A beautiful villa with everything you need to have a comfortable stay, while enjoying the beautiful beach, river and scenery. Would recommend 100%

  • Absolutely exceeded our expectations! This property is mind blowing. We travelled with a large group for a wedding and found most days they wanted to come back to our accomodation instead of their own! :) The beautiful spacious rooms/bathrooms are great. The outdoor kitchen/dining/lounge and projector screen was a huge hit with the kids on the one rainy day we had. The highlight was definitely the access to the ocean we spend days swimming and kayaking. Tanya & Edgar were so lovely! Keely has SO much valuable information that definitely helped us whilst over there. Super quick to respond too. We will certainly be back, THANK YOU ❤️

  • FANTASTIC PLACE! We loved all about it. Great local tips from Keely before arriving, which were very helpful! And Edgar and Tanya looking after the property are so helpful and friendly. • This place is a gem. A piece of South Pacific paradise not too far from Port Vila. Keely certainly is a super host, anticipating your every need and the caretakers, Tanya and Edgar are very welcoming and friendly. Thank you all for a lovely stay

  • If you are looking to throw off the shackles and pressures of modern-day life, look no further. When we first found Sunset Hideaway on AirBnB we couldn't believe our luck. Seriously.....private access to the bay where we could snorkel and watch a family of clown fish?? Beautiful, open pavilion-style accommodation as per the idyllic images of an island vacation. Privacy, tranquility, serenity and beautiful sunsets....this place has it all.   Waking up every morning to ocean views from the comfort of our bed was the most blissful way to begin each day. After a lazy start we simply made our way to the living area pavilion to put together our breakfast. The outdoor kitchen had everything we needed to prep/cook our meals with the groceries we picked up en-route from the airport and from the local markets (made SO easy with a pre-arranged driver! Thanks Keely!). Then we enjoyed a swim in the pool, or a snorkel, before spending the day reading books or jumping on the quad bike for some island adventures. Evenings were spent cooking dinner and enjoying a few Tuskers or red wines as Vanuatu turned on her dazzling sunsets. If we weren't dozing off early after enjoying too much fresh air, we happily watched one of the movies from the in-house dvd library on the projector.     The caretakers at Sunset Hideaway are very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated their advice, local knowledge and willingness to assist in any way they could.    Hideaway is suitable for a solo escape from the hustle and bustle, a romantic retreat for couples or a brilliant option for small families looking for some room to move, make some noise and to enjoy each other's company. Basically, it's suitable for anyone except, perhaps, for those who balk at a mosquito and prefer a more sealed environment, free of character.   From our first communications with Keely, we knew we were onto something very special. Keely has obviously put a great deal of love and attention into providing not just fabulous accommodation at Hideaway but a wonderful experience overall. This place is fantastic and one of the best holidays we have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

  • My favourite place in the Pacific. Everything was wonderful. Tanya and his family is just awesome. I highly recommend it.

  • Can’t believe this piece of paradise was ours for 4 nights!! We are a family of four (kids 13 & 14) and our extended family - a couple in mid 30’s. So private and exclusive & enough space to play and stay together but easy for time away from each other too. Could have stayed longer and wished we could have. Tanya and Edgar are so welcoming and all the special touches are so appreciated. Loved going for a snorkel first thing in the morning and any other time it suited. Sunsets every afternoon such a treat. Sunset Hideaway we’ll be back!!!!

    Lyn2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Keely's place is amazing. The reef is beautiful, the place is beautiful, Tanya is great... The only advice I would give to future travellers is to definitely have your own car. Pickup services in Vanuatu are expensive and the place is faaaaaaaaaaar away from everything that you can call civilisation. With all the benefits that come from a remote place and all the inconveniences too ;) Thanks again Keely for your hospitality, we truly loved staying at your place and will recommend it.

    Stefan2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • we had a wonderful time at Sunset Hideaway. The place is beautiful, the snorkeling is fantastic, and the hosts are so attentive and thoughtful. We hope to come again sometime soon.

Exquisite Private Beach with just 3 BASIC bungalows- with electric plugs and lighting. About 1 km from the beautiful, happy, friendly Melanesian village of Emua. No sound to disturb you but the gentle lapping of the lagoon in this sheltered cove. Each evening the sunset glows lighting the 3 islands which are a very short distance away. The local style thatched bungalows are set in a beautiful flowery tropical garden.
There are three bungalows- COCONUT CABIN (Nanui Farea) - this is the best and the one we recommend. ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT. It was built by a "Friend of Coral Sands"- Mattie. We think it is the height of Robinson Crusoe luxury- It is in the Western Style with aluminum window nets and bug proof doors and walls, tiled floor. There are louver windows. It has a covered veranda with chairs and table and a NEW PAVILION with a HAMMOCK and a day mattress to put on the floor for relaxing and OUTDOOR CURTAINS for sun protection while lazing in the hammock. There is a SINK just outside for handy water supply. There is a bedside light and plug points. The bed has a spacious fancy mosquito net and usually has nice linen in a pleasing color scheme. There is an electric kettle and coffee/TEA equipment. You may use the kettle to boil water for drinking if you wish. The bathroom is shared with the other beachfront bungalow. MANGO BUNGALOW (Nuapu Farea) - $ less cost than Coconut Cabin. ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT. This is a coral rock, forest timber and steel roofed local hut, tiled floor- it is very basic. It has a bedside light and plug points. The bed has a spacious fancy mosquito net and usually has nice linen in a pleasing color scheme. There is an electric kettle and coffee/tea equipment. You may use the kettle to boil water for drinking if you wish. It has a covered veranda with table and chairs, and shares the bathroom with Coconut. No pavilion, no netted veranda, no sink or running water. It is a smaller cabin. POPO PALACE (Maplo Farea) - $ less cost than Coconut Cabin. On the top of the hill, directly behind the other cabins- STUNNING BEACH VIEW. it has a steep stair climb to reach it. It is built in the local style with coral rocks, coconut mat roof, wooden walls. Has Steel window nets. It is very spacious and it has an en suite semi open air toilet. The shower is the communal one with the other bungalows. (Not suitable for older people.) It has a small covered veranda. It has no sink but the basin in the bathroom provides some cold running water, no netted veranda, no pavilion (Least recommended) MIDDAY HOT SOLAR SHOWER!! A new addition to our comfort is the OUTDOOR BEACH SHOWER in the most charming grotto. The indoor shower is cold water only, but it is so hot in tropical Vanuatu that I think hot water is not something that I have ever missed. Your delightful hosts and owners of Coral Sands (locally known as-" Vatupau Beach Bungalows"), are Emua villagers Kenneth and Anita. Kenneth is highly respected both in Emua Village and as an adviser to the government on Environmental Affairs. Annita is an integral member of the Mothers of Emua. They maintain village meal sharing schemes and raise money for local charities with the other nearby villages. Emua is a model village highlighting cooperative living at it's best. Anita will cook simple but delicious meals for you, if you wish. Your hosts do not sleep at the resort, and you may request privacy, as you desire.(URL HIDDEN) Locally owned Orovy Restaurant is recommended and is in Emua Village. They are open every day and are also a great place for sun downers. Emua- our village has a nightly MOTHER"S SUPPER SALE with items at 25c each. BYO plate and eat local dishes for $1.50 to $3 per person. Not open on Sunday. on the main road across from the shop and bank or in the village square near the church.. PELE ISLAND - Kenneth will arrange a very reasonably priced day trip in a local fishing boat to see the lagoon islands and to snorkel. Truly the color of the lagoon must be seen to be believed! We even saw a dugong (sea cow) and sea horses. The reefs are so unspoiled. The coral exquisite. (Ask for boatman and Pele Island bungalow owner-Charley) Kenneth and Anita will treat guests with a LAP LAP feast cooked in a traditional pit. I think this is an island experience to remember. (Extra cost.) BYO bottled water or boil your won with your kettle- it is mountain spring water, but please don't take the risk. Your own transport is desirable for a truly good visit- We have a friend - Franko- whose number I can give you, if you need a car. A minibus can bring you from airport or town to Emua Village. But it is a long drive with plenty of stops!! There is a shop in Emua that has island basics, and sometimes great freshly baked bread! Next door village- SAMA has great home baked bread and you can arrange for them to phone you when the fresh mother baked bread comes in (irregularly) $10 per day extra fee payable to Kenneth, if you need an extra bed, instead of just the double bed. Are you slightly afraid of being alone at the beach at night? Single ladies may request Kenneth and Anita to sleep in the next bungalow to keep them company- that is incredibly sweet I think!! Who are Laura and John then? We are regular guests at Coral Sands. Every year we spend a long holiday there. We love it so much, so it is our greatest pleasure to recommend it to people who enjoy a truly authentic local island experience. Kenneth does not have internet, so we text booking information to him from our home in Auckland NZ. WARNING this is a basic place, live the way the tribal people live, so don't expect Western Style amenities. Tuck that Mosquito net tight around you at night and BRING Deet personal REPELLENT AND a BARRIER BUG SPRAY to spray around the bungalow perimeter outdoors and you will love it, I promise. Please tell Kenneth if there are ants, or other insects in the bungalows- he will deal with it, (if he has enough money to buy spray. They are poorer than any Western person can imagine) Don't be shy, just tell him. (Please use the plastic box to store your snacks.) This is a "soft adventure" in paradise. NEWS UPDATE FROM "Friends of Coral Sands" 2019 August John, Laura and Shelley have been at Coral Sands for a 3 week work/ holiday. We have marveled at Kenneth, who has managed to obtain a GREAT WATER SUPPLY from the mountains behind Coral Sands and he also re-roofed Mango Cabin and replaced the bamboo walls with homemade weatherboards. John paneled inside Coconut cabin and arranged the delivery of the new roof for Coconut. Kenneth and his Custom Brother replaced the roof. At last we can all breathe easy again for the rainy season- the bungalows are safe and dry once again. THANK YOU FRIENDS OF CORAL SANDS who have contributed money to making all this happen both by coming to stay as guests and also through your generous contributions. To help a small business person to establish himself, is to help a whole village, this is not a handout, it is a helping hand. We also had time for a lovely time exploring our favorite spots and swimming in the warm waters. Shelley and John went snorkeling and scuba dived and took thousands of underwater photos and I just loved the beach from the pleasure of my hammock sheltered from the sun by that lovely outdoor curtain in the pavilion. We all put on heaps of weight because of the French Bakery...but then that's what holidays are for.
Emua Village is a beach front Melanesian tribal home. As a guest you will meet all the charming people who are so friendly and kind.
  • This place gets it right. Just simple enough to let the island experience shine through. Just luxury enough to accommodate for your Robinson Crusoe needs. Kenneth, the local who manages the space, is attentive and responsive and wonderfully warm in keeping the place ship shape. The bungalows are down a palm tree lined path from the village, where the "happiness quotient" renowned in Vanuatu is always evident. From church gatherings, to nightly volleyball, to the folks at the small market (try the lap-lap) - truly a town filled with positivity. Plus, some of the best snorkeling I've seen, straight out from the shore (though you should try a day at Pele Island, too).

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. It's a beautiful spot, great hospitality and delicious homemade food.

  • Beautiful, relaxed, private place adjacent to a lovely village. Kenneth and Annita run a great operation and they’re very obliging to their guests, eg they helped me to commission a pandanus mat. Truly, Emua is a top place to stay. You can buy garden food at the market, walk to the next village for fabulous snorkeling at Top Rock, Saama, and in the evening drink kava at a nakamal and listen to the local string band. I loved it. Also, I made a broom from coconut fronds! Em olsem ples blo mi PNG. Mi malolo gut tru, kaikai wankain olsem ples bilong mi, na tokpisin em i isi tru Lo harim na bekim. Tenkyu tru.

  • Best place to stay in Vanuatu! The location is great, with a stunning beach outside your front door. Great hospitality from Kenneth and Anita who were always happy to help us, would definitely recommend their home cooked dinner! It was great staying in a local village, we were able to get a local boat over to Pele Island for the day which was absolutely beautiful! 2 nights was not enough, would definitely stay longer! Good idea to stock up on food in port villa before you arrive. Thank you so much for the stay!!

  • Staying at Coral Sands (Vatupau/Kenneth’s place) was paradise. It almost felt surreal how perfect it was - set on a small private beach, clear water and coral reef for snorkeling, with kind and friendly locals who all smile and say hello. Getting to Coral Sands was simple- we caught a bus from Port Vila town center to Au Bon Mache Manples (150 Vatu). Ask the locals for the bus to Emua - which takes 45 minutes and cost 500 vatu. Once in Emua, George, the owner of Orovy Restaurant showed us the road to Coral Sands. Kenneth was there waiting for us and showed us his paradise, which we were lucky enough to have to ourselves! We stayed in the Coconut Cabin which was spacious, clean, tidy and cozy. It was very well netted, which was a bonus as mosquitos love me! There is a super handy hanging shelf and a rack to hang clothes. The shower and toilets are all in great condition. The real gem is the outdoor shower in the grotto - from which you can enjoy a view while showering. Both hammocks were well used during our stay. We had all the amenities we needed during our stay. We did bring food and snacks, but had Anita’s cooking for dinner (1000 vatu each) and breakfast (600 vatu each). The water supply at Emua has been low, so we bought water from the store when our Port Vila supply ran out (160 vatu for big bottle of water, 130 for soft drink can). We also bought lunch from the Emua road market one day (fish and rice 250 vatu). All in all, we pretty much spent our 2 nights, three days here in complete bliss - reading, swimming, snorkeling, chatting with locals, eating authentic food and feeling far away from the rest of the world. Kenneth and Anita are lovely and kind hosts who give you space but also know when to check in. 100% would love to return - hopefully for longer!

  • Very basic as described. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time snorkeling and strolling around the village. Beautiful location.

  • This place is just amazing. Beautiful beach facing Nguna and Pele islands, clean space, well designed bungalows, pretty comfortable... this was above my expectations. Kenneth and Anita are incredibly nice people, they did anything to make sure my stay was the best, and it was successful. The bungalow is clean, spacious and bug-proof enough - apart from a few ants on the floor (nothing too important) and the classic night-time cockroach on the sand, there is nothing to worry about in your bed with the fly-net. The coral reef just in front of the bungalows is nice and safe for a swim or snorkel. The view over Nguna island is astonishing - this volcano was calling me for a hike that I couldn't resist. The village of Emua is a beautiful example of how a community can do great cooperative things together. You will learn about their projects when you speak to the people, and there will be many opportunities to talk to them, everyone is so open to a chat! I spent a day on Nguna island - I went to the Emua wharf, waited for a local boat, walked and then got picked up by a truck to Rewoka village, instantly found a guide who took me to the top of the mountain. On the way back, I was invited to attend a ceremony with all the villagers, and I learned a lot about the local culture and the customs. I don't think I have ever experienced such a welcoming feeling anywhere in the world. I was travelling alone and I never felt lonely a second! I would really love to go back there and I will certainly recommend my friends to stay there. Thanks John and Laura for facilitating this on Airbnb.

  • Great place to stay for value/money. The large property more like a holiday village is nestled outside of the center at about 10 mins drive. We were greeted at the airport by Malakai, everything went smoothly. We stayed 3 nights, Rachel and Malakai have been very helpful - they gave us recommendations and gave us local tips. Breakfast is included, bread and delicious fruits prepared by the lovely Perry. This place is perfect for people who wants to experience the local life, it’s a family home stay and you might meet other travellers. As you will be in the nature be prepared to share the space with little friends such as ants.... but don’t worry they are totally harmless and this is Vanuatu! Thank you so much Rachel and Malakai! There are few places in the world with such a magnificent view. Location transports you to a forgotten world. You will enjoy stunning unobstructed views across the rainforest looking onto the active world famous Yasur Volcano. The newly built Bungalows sit in the heart of the rainforest and offer a unique experience on the beautiful island of Tanna in Vanuatu. You are near to a traditional village and will experience the warm hospitality of people, culture and island life.
Accommodation is private and Bungalows are built in the trees. You will feel the magic of the space as you enjoy the view of the rainforest, volcano and ocean in the distance. By night plumes of red smoke will rise from the volcano in the distance. On a clear night the starry skies above will amaze you. We offer simple and comfortable accommodation. Bed has mosquito nets. Bungalows have chair, table and night light. There is a separate restaurant, private bathroom and shower.
The view across the rainforest toward Yasur Volcano is amazing.
  • This place was amazing, to put it simply. We did and saw some spectacular things, this should definitely be top of your list when looking to visit Tanna. The room itself is very basic but has everything you need, there is a flushing toilet and a very refreshing powerful shower which was great! The tours were incredible, we did the the waterfall, hot springs and of course the volcano these are a must. Be prepared to walk some long distances however these walks are beautiful and take you all around the rainforest. The food was great and the hospitality from everyone around was even better. Get ready for your transport from the airport it’s a pretty fun ride! Keep doing what you’re doing Charlie it was fantastic!!

  • Amazing experience. Charlie was very receptive and communicative. Very unique experience with the window facing the volcano.

    Tharcilla2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie’s place is wonderful! The photos are accurate but don’t do the experience of staying there justice. The red glow of the volcano at night and the continuous rumbling in the distance is something we’ll never forget.

  • Outstanding views on Mt Yasur, a dream come true tree house and a really engaged host, who makes an incredible experience possible. Words can't describe this place, you have to experience it yourself! - Mario and Chamille ❤️

    Chamille2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This tree house was one the most unique places we have ever stayed. Absolutely loved our experience there. Charlie was an amazing host and our only regret was we didn't stay longer. Highly recommend.

    Anthony2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is what Airbnb is all about: feeling like you belong, anywhere in the world. Staying in this bungalow with Charlie (and his family) is an experience I will cherish forever. There’s nowhere on Earth quite like Tanna island, and they do everything in their power to make you feel like part of their community. Don’t expect a bastion of modern technologies or conveniences; expect an authentic village stay in rural Vanuatu. And more importantly, expect to feel right at home.

  • Wow! Amazing location, beautiful beach, Georgina and Daniel greeted us shortly after our arrival. They are very helpful and we felt welcomed. Daniel took us to Port Orly and recommended us an excellent beach front restaurant. He is super punctual and reliable. Breakfast is generous and delicious with fresh bread cooked just for you. Will definitely stay again. Thanks!

    Marine2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel’s bungalows are at a truly stunning location, right on the beach and are very nicely kept and put together. Everything was much nicer than we expected initially and Daniel’s great hospitality and willingness to help was the icing on the cake! I can’t stress enough how amazing the beach and the vibes are. Also Champagne beach which is also lovely is right next door. The bungalow it self was nicely prepared for our arrival with thoughtful touches (our towels were shaped like swans on the bed with flowers!) and very clean and we loved staying there. The only real issue we had was with mosquitos but Daniel supplies anti mosquito coils that you can light around the bungalow and they do a good job but you should definitely have repellent and after-bite cream just to be safe. There is a net on the bed too but it has an entry slit that you will need to close with pegs when you are in. Every morning we had lovely fruit and bread with peanut butter and jam waiting for us outside on the porch which is something we really appreciated. And in the evenings just a couple of bungalows down the beach, there was the restaurant for lunch or dinner with very friendly staff, reasonable prices, WiFi and great food. Keep in mind there is no charging socket in the bungalow so you will need to go to the restaurant if you need to charge anything. I still cant believe how such beautiful place wasn’t swarming with tourists. It was so nice a peaceful! I hope one day I can visit again and I highly suggest you do and if you do stay with Daniel!

    Andreas2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Georgiana are so friendly and always super helpful with everything. They provide everyday a delicious and generous piece of bread, coffee and fruit to start your day with a beautiful view just in front to the beach. Also, they have kayaks that you can use to go to champagne beach or just paddle and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this place. If you like to have a small snack between meals, I might suggest taking something from Luganville because there is nowhere to buy things like this. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, I recommend this place 100%.

    Fer2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel, his beautiful wife Georgina and his gorgeous family are the absolute sweetest humans on earth. From the moment Daniel picked us up from the airport, we felt at ease in the hands of a local who knows Santo, it’s hidden treasures and its community back to front. Nothing can prepare you for the beauty that is Lonnoc Beach. It’s literally breathtaking. My partner and I have travelled extensively, and this is hands down the most divine beach we’ve both ever experienced. Crystal clear waters, bountiful fish, coral and turtles, white powder sand, and a view to die for. The Bungalows are adorable and comfortable, and encapsulate the perfect island glamping experience. Nothing is better than a siesta of an afternoon after a long day of snorkelling or kayaking (literally metres off your bungalow balcony) under the coconut trees and palms, cool sea breeze, in your hammock. Daniel and Georgina deliver fresh bread, cut fresh fruit and hot water (for tea, coffee etc) every single morning. And there are simple little restaurants within walking distance with basic eastern, western and local meals and wifi. Daniel can provide you with an esky, or stovetop - which if you are staying for a long period, I’d definitely utilise. One thing to note is Lonnoc is 1 hr drive from the main CBD of Luganville, so your options for transport and supplies are limited. Definitely recommend stopping in town and stocking up on food, snacks, drinks, ice etc. Daniel is wonderful with lifts, and can take you anywhere for a discounted price. He knows most people on the island, and can organise horse riding tours, blue hole tours, for you. We went for a beautiful seafood lunch with Daniel, Georgina and his family to Port Olry, and saw dugongs and turtles. They became like family after our 8 day stay. This stay is an absolute gem, and is no doubt to deliver memories that will last a lifetime :)

  • Amazing bungalow by the sea, literally 20m from the water. Such a charming remote place where the time stop. Food options are good, including locally cooked typical meal. The bay is great for snorkeling and kayak. I will come again

  • Felt like a hidden gem. Had a great few days. Very forthcoming check-in and check-out-times. The host will help you with tipps and trips, don't be afraid to ask. If we get the chance we'll come back. Enjoy :)

We are located on the Erakor (first lagoon) with a beautiful view over looking the water where local kids spend most of their days when not at school swimming and playing in the waters. We are walking distance to Vanuatu's largest super market, Port Vila Central hospital, a number of great restaurants, the museum, The Chiefs Nakamal and just a 10min walk down town to the seafront and the harbor.
Guest have their own bathroom and small kitchenette with a fridge, Microwave , Electric Kettle, Toaster and utensils. There is an air conditioner in the room, but unfortunately due to the high cost of power in Vanuatu there is a surcharge of $15 per day if required. Guest also have their own Private outdoor space with table and chair where they can enjoy the beautiful views of the lagoon with a cup of tea or coffee from our in room facilities. We have a pool at the main house it is mainly for my family but guests are welcome to use the pool at anytime however the pool tile needs repair.
We have a very safe friendly neighbourhood . The locals who lives up the road from us spends most of their days in the lagoon fishing , looking for sea shells or just swimming and having fun.
  • Esther and Calvin received us very friendly and gave us valuable tips for Efate. The property is about a 15-minute walk from Port Vila. It is very clean and quiet. You have everything in the accommodation to cater for yourself. The dogs are great and very nice. We can recommend the accommodation without hesitation.

    Martin2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Calvin and Esther are great host. Have lots of tips for your vacation on Vanuatu.

    Trevor2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • It really is like paradise - just dive in and enjoy the local life (walk, swim in the lagoon, buy fruit from the market across the road, talk to people, catch busses).

    Marianne2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I can't even begin to explain how the accommodation was sooooo much more than we expected! Everything was absolutely hassle free, easy (and early) check in, parking provided, welcome coconuts in the fridge (how good is that after a long day of traveling?!). The kitchen is better equipped than ours at home, haha! The pool is super comfortable and even quite deep which w enjoyed. Rusty, Pepper and Lucky are super friendly dogs and we had such a nice time. Thank you Esther and Calvin for having us, we loved every second of it! Can't recommend this Airbnb enough, you will be very well looked after, I promise. Take care you two, hope to see you again!

    Lisa2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Esther and Calvin make you feel super welcome and give your all the useful tips for enjoying your stay in Port Vila. I highly recommend this place for the location, the amenities, the tips and all the rest.

    July2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Book this now! Esther and Calvin's place is amazing- only 8 minutes' walk from the nearest big supermarket and about 15 minutes' walk from the town centre. It has an amazing view of a river and a great pool! The place itself is lovely, you have your own place to cook if you wish (we did) and they provide some movies for you to watch on a usb stick. Esther went out of her way to accommodate us, even arranging a taxi for us to the airport at short notice for our very early 7am flight! Esther- we are forever grateful for your kindness and generosity. The whole family are lovely and their dogs are adorable! We will definitely try to stay again if we ever find ourselves there!

    Heather2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • My second stay at Esther and Calvin's place was as good as the first one (see my previous below). See you another time in Port Vila!

    Cédric2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and quiet place to stay in Port Vila, not far from the town centre and other restaurants, beautiful views over the water and friendly hosts. I would definitely recommend to stay with Esther and Calvin.

    Turtle Bay Lagoon
  • Clean and comfortable, self-contained beach house with a lovely outlook over the water. Great to be able to lock the fly screen and sleep with the door open! Alex is a great host - good to have kayaks and snorkelling gear free on site and really appreciated his local guidance. Just be aware that having a car is preferable if you stay here as there's really nowhere you can walk to. Also, common in rural areas, there are roosters next door and they wake up early!

    Tanya2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Alex's place is situated on the main road to port olry. You do not hear the traffic. Alex place overlooks turtle bay and surrounding islands. There are no food stores nearby. It is a short 10 min walk to turtle bay beach lodge which has restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Therefore if you do not bring your own food up from Luganville to Alex place can always eat at restaurant that has ok menu and Sydney prices. Luganville is approx 20-25min drive. You can either jump in the back of local vehicle or arrange taxi service with Willie or Alex. One of the many great things about Alex place is access to kayaks and stand up paddle boards for free. This allows you to explore the surrounding reefs and blue holes which are all stunning. The accommodation is comfortable, clean, good shower pressure and hot water. Perfect place to relax and explore.

    Suzanne2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and special place. The flat is big and comfortable, with very nice balcony (beautiful view) and just on a private beach. Great kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Alex was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We had a great time and we very much recommend it!

    Stav2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here, and my girlfriend and I frequently remarked that we think we chose the best location and property to stay on Santo. The location makes it central to visiting the attractions in the north and south by car, and there is a lot to do within walking / kayaking distance too. The bungalow is one of three on the property. It is a couple of steps from the water in the lovely bay, and has a great view of the bay, a deck to relax on, and a great hammock. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and comes with a microwave and electric frypans for cooking (although we used the electric bbq the couple of times we cooked). Alex has prepared a very helpful binder with lots of very useful practical tips. The accomodation includes the use of kayaks (single and double available) and SUPs which we used every day to explore the nearby islands, head out snorkling and swimming, and visit the amazing blue holes (the kayak up the river to the first blue hole was stunning). Alex is a great guy, who welcomed us warmly, and invited us along on several of his adventures. Thanks for having us :)

    Keith2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Idyllic location with great privacy and both sun and shade. Very nice local restaurant for dinner. Would happily go back tomorrow!

    Becky2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Turtle Bay Beach house was great. Unbelievable little spot on the water with heaps of little day drips right there, either on the water or on the road. Willie is brilliant

    Johnnyy2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location, spacious and comfortable. The welcome is warm. We were a couple from New Caledonia, and had a pleasant stay. The view on waking is magnificent. To recommend Thank you Marie & Willy, Thanks Alex

    Marylene2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Beach Cottage. Best part of this property is the fact that the ocean is literally on your doorstep and you have kayaks and SUP-boards you can use. We went out with kayaks almost every day and enjoyed it so much! Alex and Willie took good care of us and organised some great daytrips. Hoping to be able to go back one day! Thanks again Alex!

Tropical paradise with a 1 minute walk to champagne beach. You will be staying in a locally owned bungalow in a private setting. This location is kid friendly and a retreat you can make your own. There is a restaurant and bar available 7 days a week for breakfast lunch and tea. This is the only accommodation that offers free unlimited access to champagne. We also have a new restaurant that has opened up on champagne beach in April 2019.
There are kayaks available for hire and tours can be booked directly with your host Janeth toto. Transfers Available
Champagne beach is the number one asset to local area. we also have a hobby farm with chickens, pigs and cows. We have fantastic snorkelling approximately 100mt walk from your accommodation
  • Janeth and her beautiful family were nothing but welcoming to me. Janeth is so sweet and kind and you can really tell she cares about her guest. The location you cannot beat because it is literally a 5 minute walk to Champagne Beach (which as a guest at the Bungalows you do not have to pay to enter). BUT I would say the beach on the property is also stunning, doesn't have the beach front like Champagne, but you can walk out forever in crystal clear water. Have Janeth make you island food, I requested that I did not want tourist food and Janeth delivered every night. Also a lot of the ingredients come from the garden that they have on property they own. You are getting farm to table, also they raise beef cattle, pigs, and chickens on the property. If you are looking to have an authentic Vanuatu experience, I would highly recommend staying here. Note Wifi works, but coverage is not the best. So if you are not able to disconnect this might not be the place for you. I had no problem forgetting about my phone well I was here.

    Rebecca2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location! Janeth is a wonderful host, and was very helpful recommending and coordinating activists around the island. Her cooking is delicious! I’ll definitely be staying here when I visit again.

    Drew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place to stay. You can not get closer to the beautiful Champagne Beach and the hospitality we experienced from Janeth was the best we ever received. The breakfast was incredible, be sure to have some dinners here or at the beach too, great food. Next time we come back to Vanuatu this is where we will be staying again, thank you very much :).

    Charles Abraham2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Janeth's place is AWESOME! We spent 5 days in Janeth's. The bungalows are cozy but with a very lovely energy. You can listen to the waves as you go to sleep or have a nap on the hammock outside looking at the stars. The place is at the right side of Lonnoc beach, really close to Champagne Beach. The snorkeling is fun and you can easily swim from/to Champagne beach to Lonnoc (or just walk for 5 minutes, and you don't need to pay the entry fee). Janeth gave us a full-on beautiful breakfast every morning with a smile. We had really beautiful chats with her. Overall, we highly recommend this place for some roots holidays, to re-connect with nature and the sea. We would definitively come back to stay here again. The WiFi worked well.

    Roberto2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Towoc is as close as you could get to the famed Champagne beach, a 5 minute walk at most, and you don’t have to pay the entry fee. The bungalow location is tranquil, with animals around, at the Lonnoc beach waterfront. Janeth and her family are welcoming and make sure you got what you need, including delicious food. The spacey, clean bungalow came with a separat bathroom unit that was clean. There was a hammock at the porch which made it nice to wind down.

    Nicolas2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay at this beautiful place. Everyone was really friendly and we loved staying there!

    Marine2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay right near the water with healthy cows hanging out at the beach. Really close to Champagne Beach. Great hospitality from Janeth and her daughter.

Private, tranquil retreat with only our house with separate private bungalow. Away from the hustle & bustle of Port Vila but only 15 minutes to town &1 0 minutes from Airport. Villa Ducula can be as quiet and tranquil as you wish...or...visit bustling Port Vila town. The most gorgeous coral reef is right in front of the property. The bungalow has a generous layout and is well equipped for self catering. Car hire is available from the premises. Refreshing pool to enjoy.
This is a self contained bungalow, on its own at the bottom of our property, the ocean on your doorstep, lovely area, close to everything. Newly built pool just steps away from your bungalow. We are next to a resort which has a restaurant if you wish to eat out without needing transport to get somewhere. Lots of local buses go past the house, making commuting to town easy and its really cheap too. We have The Summit behind us offering fabulous mountain walks, we are also close to The Cascades and Beach Bar and Hideaway Island.
The neighbourhood is made up of beautiful private homes, a few resorts, opposite and behind is the famous Vanuatu Zip Line, and Wet 'n Wild. You can also enjoy a challenging walk up to The Summit, which is a mountain behind us with the most amazing views. This is where the Zip Line launch from. Our area is still quite undeveloped, that's the beauty of it. Its away from hustle bustle of busy Port Vila.
  • This is the place to stay! Lydia is an incredible host, easy to chat with, provides all the comfort and wonderful little touches like the flowers from the garden around the room. The bed is amazingly comfortable. It was just perfect for us and having a king size in this weather was amazing. The pool is phenomenal, it’s so lovely to have your own space to swim about in comfort while overlooking the ocean. Just remember to check for crabs first! The restaurant next door does amazing food - I wish I could eat there every meal! They are a little more relaxed with their hours so I would plan for just dinners there. The location is beautifully separated from the township, and so I suggest stopping for some milk and snacks on the way. There is a supermarket about 20-25 min walk, but often someone will stop to give you a lift. If you stay at Lydia’s place, you will relax and enjoy everything on offer! Thank you again Lydia, until next time! P.s - we love the doggies!

    Jess2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly a little paradise. It's not far from the town center, but it's very quiet and perfect for some relaxing time right at the oceanfront. The location is also great as a base to explore the Island, although you need to keep in mind that it's not always easy to get a bus or taxi as it lies a bit away from the main road. There is a short drive on an unsealed road to access it, although it should not be a problem even for 2WD cars. Lydia will also let you use her car for a small fee if it is available, which is perfect for some shopping in town or a visit to the many attractions closeby. The bungalow lies in the beautiful garden of the property with a great view of the ocean. It's offering everything you need with a well equipped kitchen and a nice deck to sit and relax. Lydia is a great host and will be happy to answer all your questions and help you with anything you need. She really went our of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The only negative I could possibly think of is that our stay here was over way too quickly...

    Matthias2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Villa Ducula is a great and beautiful place. Very clean and safe. The view and the garden was just incredible. Lydia is a very friendly and nice lady and the kids loved her two cute dogs. The fireshow at mele beach, hideaway island with the undeewater postoffice and mele cascades are close by which was convenient. We would definitely come again.

    Britta2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely bungalow in a private oasis... Lydia is very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Always willing to share local tips and information and very friendly and genuine. Lydia was a pleasure to deal with and her effortless communication was appreciated. The room was clean, private with a beautiful outlook to ocean and tropical gardens. Highly recommended

    Loren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous place on the waterfront! Lydia is a wonderful host and gave us so much local knowledge. The bungalow is just perfect and a gorgeous modern space....we don't want to leave!!

    Kirstie2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 2 weeks, what a beautiful place with the sea to greet you every morning, so perfect for one or a couple. I really love that Villa Ducula is private and therefore much quieter than a crowded resort but if you want a taste of that, a simple stroll through a garden gate will take you to a most welcoming resort right next door that offers great meals (recommend the Margaritas), a lovely outlook over the sea and a casual and relaxing ambience. We found that the bus system gets easier the more you use it -trips into town or around the island become straight forward as you learn the system (or lack thereof) and there are some great restaurants, day trips and fabulous snorkelling and sailing trips to do (ask Lydia ahead of your trip). Lydia is an exceptional host; very supportive and wonderful at helping you navigate all the aspects of immersing successfully into Port Vila/Vanuatu. We Will be going back. A most memorable holiday, very relaxing. Thank you Lydia so much for making your space available!

    Bronwyn2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place right on the beach, I am so looking forward to staying here again

    Amanda2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lydia is a wonderful host - friendly and welcoming. The fresh fruit from the garden is a lovely bonus. Great location away from the main town, overlooking Mele Bay (we had a rental car, would recommend that). Kitchenette works well but the resort next door does great food when you can't be bothered cooking or driving. :)

  • Lovely little cottage, perfect for single or a couple who doesnt mind being 15mins out of town and small kitchen. Private beach front with canoes as view to wake up to everyday, host Genia is very lovely and friendly :)

    Kelvin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Your own private beach where you can take long walks or just enjoy swimming in blue water. I didn’t meet Genia in person, but all the communication and arrangements were done perfectly. Highly recommended!

    Mirko2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Genia was an amazing host and even went out of her way to leave a couple things in the fridge for us as our flight was canceled last minute until the next day. The cottage was absolutely perfect for myself and my partner for the 3 days we were there so very relaxing with the sounds of the ocean and the birds in the morning she also has two kayaks that can be easily dragged to the waters edge for a great afternoon sunset kayak and day beds you can easily relax on through out the day not to mention the snorkeling right at your doors step champagne beach is only 30mins up the road and an amazing restaurant called oceanic only 200mtrs north from the main entrance aswell. We would love to come back and stay again.

    Luke2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, breath taking location. Genia really helpful great host!!!! Thanks for a lovely time. Really clean, well thought through area. Pictures are all very reflective of the listing! Cheers!

    Emily2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage on the seaside with calm blue waters. Comfy bed, peaceful surrounds. Toaster, microwave, good sized fridge, cooktop and equipment. Genia was a lovely host very respectful of privacy but also warm and kind. Recommend stocking up on produce at the markets in Luganville. I brought and used reef shoes for the first time and these were very useful for strolling along the beach and out into the water as a few bits of old coral at shoreline, sandy beach, kayaks for use. Truly got in touch with island time. Poor internet connection which was eventually a relief and break from everything! ... I had digicel which rarely worked. All that’s needed is bathers, sunscreen and a hat. Pure paradise !! Will definitely be back !!

    Kerrie2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Genia was the perfect host, incredibly helpful and accommodating. The bungalow is perfect for a nice relaxed quiet getaway with all the mod cons you need right next to the gorgeous beach. A wonderful stay, can't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks again for having us Genia ;)

    Aidan2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay! The location is perfect with secluded private beach. Water is great for swimming and kayaking (watch for the coral during the low tide). We have stayed in the cottage, while the main house was empty, so had more privacy then when both houses are booked. Property located 15 mins from the town, transfers are expensive 2000-3000 Vatu (both ways), so worth buying the groceries in bulk. Genia was very responsive giving lots of tips about Santo and property manager on the ground very helpful with check in and property details. Highly recommend the stay!

    Aneta2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying here! Genia was so wonderful and very quick to respond when we had any questions. The beach was absolutely amazing with snorkelling straight off the beach. Two resorts are in walking distance where you can eat. Fantastic value for money! We had a great experience and will definitely be back. :)

It is equipped with shelves, hammock, ceiling fan, one double bed with mosquito net and outdoor chairs. The bathroom is equipped with shower (cold water), sink, toilets and seaview. All guests will be sharing the Lodge spacious and tranquil living-area which is complete with an equipped kitchen for your own use, food storage facilities, a wooden deck and comfy lounge chairs, an open fire & bbq place, hanging hammock and swings over the colorful lagoon. Catch a glimpse into the daily life of our Ni-van family and see how to prepare a traditional meal with Madeleine, explore our flower garden and discover our stone statues and black palm sculptures, grab a fresh coconut from our coconut trees and learn how to make your own coconut milk, relax on the deck, soak up the view and connect with the luxuriant nature.
Just in front of the Lodge is a beautiful and tranquil bay, protected by a reef and tropical islands, where you can spot a plane wreck, turtles and sometimes a dugong. Next to the Lodge is the mouth of a beautiful turquoise river with crystal waters leading to a wild Blue Hole with hanging ropes for more fun. A bit further is another and bigger Blue Hole where a magnificent BanyanTree offers its roots for good jump opportunities. Both are easy to explore by kayaking or walking from the Lodge. And if you're looking for some new activity, we also offer Freediving lessons on site. The best way to relax and discover the wonderful underwater world around the Lodge. The island of Santo itself is gorgeous and offer many tours and activities to discover : island tours, fishing and snorkeling tours, horse riding, kayaking, bat caves, trekkings and custom villages, hidden waterfalls, diving on wrecks ...
  • Beautiful location, very relaxing and peaceful. Close to 2 blue holes, good kyaking and swimming. Beautiful blue water. Good kitchen and outdoor living area.

  • This place is PERFECT. We had the most amazing time at Matevulu Lodge. Our bungalow was beautiful, sparkling clean (even the windows were shining :) ), right on the water. There is a huge common area with full kitchen and big open dining area; it's very easy to find your own space when you want it, but we loved the social/community feel around meal times. The bay is beautiful. We took the free kayaks along the beach and up the river to Riri Blue Hole as Gaëlle suggested - which was awesome. Matevulu blue hole also a short walk away. Gaëlle and Edu are amazing hosts, always available, super friendly, informed, and incredibly generous with their time. We loved the fresh breakfast with bread, fruit, home-made jams, tea, coffee, fresh juice. We also really appreciated their effort to be environmentally conscious. Our best airbnb stay ever; don't miss this place! We also heard their beautiful cat knows how to give high-fives!!!

  • The Funky house, as everyone likes referring at, gave to my parents and I the most wonderful experience ever. The place is a bit isolated, but this is the real beauty of it. A car could be provided for $58 per day and our host was so kind as to arrange a bus transfer from the airport to the house for $50 one way. The location was just perfect for exploring the island, we stayed only for the weekend, but it was plenty of time for doing the tour of the island and visit Mele cascades, Orovy beach and the Blue Lagoons. I don't know if we were lucky, but they were not so many tourists around and we could enjoy a real authentic experience thanks to the locals who smiled all the time. The house is close to two restaurants, so if you are not into cooking, Brekka restaurant offers great dinners. You have to consider that it won't be cheap though. They have the same price as in Australia, and there will be a fee to get access to the beaches. Close to the accommodation, 7 minutes walk there is a lovely beach (honey Moon beach), no touristic at all where kids were swimming all day. I wish you could enjoy the same beautiful experience as we did.

  • This fitted container is perfect for families! It is superb! The games area, swing was appreciated! A bit far away but you can take the bus a stone's throw away and the rental car is great and inexpensive!

  • Such a charming place to stay. Felt like we were in the middle of the jungle, far from everyone else. Was very nice to have a car as it is situated a little bit outside the town. 16 degrees were very helpful with everything that we needed.

  • Absolutely outstanding, 10 days stay here was not enough. I could have lived here for the foreseeable future.

  • We spent three nights here at the end of a two week trip. The funky container house is such a fun space with great personal touches that make you feel right at home. The space also has a great outdoor area which is really fun for hanging out in at night after a day at the beach or sight seeing. The location is great and a short drive in to town or nearby beaches. We rented the truck with property which made it very easy getting around. Our host Jinny was also great and very responsive. I would recommend this place to any friends visiting port villa.

    Rachel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Coco Cabana! The place is beautifully decorated and clean with lots of thoughtful touches. Jinny went above and beyond with helping us with information and arrangements to make our time enjoyable. The space was perfect for our family of 5, the 3 kids loved the yard and toys and hammock. Such a clever and compact little place. We wished we could have stayed longer!

I'm offering a fully self-contained one bedroom apartment with its own private entrance and access to a swimming pool. This apartment is just 2 minutes walk from centre of Port Vila. The property has two apartments. One is where I live with my husband and the other is the one bedroom apartment which I’m hosting on Airbnb. Transport is not a problem as the property is 100 mts from a busy road, shops and a bus stop.
Fully contained one bedroom apartment consisting of an open plan living/dinning room; separate kitchen with full size fridge and gas stove; large queen size bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The apartment is fully furnished and kitted out (bed linen, towels and kitchen/dinning utensils).
The property is situated off Pompidou Road and is just 2 minutes leisurely stroll to Port Vila’s CBD (dinning/shopping and banks). The area is safe and walking into and around town is not a problem. Port Vila has some great dinning with about 30 restaurants within the town area. The majority of these are within walking distance.
  • Marie and Morgan's flat is awesome and is fully equipped with everything you would need while on holiday. Marie can offer Airport transfers at low rate which is awesome and convenient. Location is perfect and is a short walk to town or there are small buses that operate like shared Uber that runs 24/7 and there is many buses that will take you anywhere in Vila for a very small fee of 150VUV per person. I was welcomed with so much fruit also which was really nice. The locals here are the friendliest people you will ever meet. I enjoyed my stay, I felt at home and will definitely be my first choice of accommodation if available for my next visit back to Port Vila. Thanks again!

  • This is a unique place on the planet in a culture that still abides by a much simpler and peaceful pace of living. Living here allows you a chance to immerse in an ease of being in a very relaxed society that we found extremely welcoming and friendly. And all this while enjoying all the modern comforts, architectural beauty and artful surroundings that Sails Beach House offers. It is isolated in a gorgeous natural setting with stunning sunsets and the ocean lapping at your door. It is relatively easy to catch a land or water taxi to get out shopping or exploring. The snorkeling is amazing. We fell in love with George and Selena, the resident caretakers and their children. Sweetest people in the world! Stay here! You'll love it!

    Pat2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a bit of paradise and a place to unwind and relax then Sails is just the place. Nellie was fabulous and George was on hand to make sure our stay was perfect. And it was ❤️

    Justine2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very private comfortable residence in a tropical paradise. Will not disappoint. Narelle can assist with all the necessary transfers to get to this lovely location from Luganville.

    Lynley2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted a haven; somewhere super comfortable, stylish and tranquil with aqua beaches - so our few days at Sails exceeded our expectations - this gorgeous house right on its own private beach is superb.

    Megan2018-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sails is a large comfortable home sitting on the beachfront of Aore Island, with stunning views of surrounding islands, just off Lunanville. Ideal for a restful holiday with some snorkelling and canoeing equipment at your disposal.

    Stephen2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sails is perhaps one of our most favourite houses we have ever stayed at! An absolute hidden gem and well worth making the effort to cross over the water from Luganville to the lovely island of Aore! The view from the deck is world class and each room has a special charm. George the caretaker is fantastic and was always there to help us if we had any questions and Michelle who lives nest door was wonderful. We visited the local village, swam at a beach with the most beautiful coral , saw turtles and plenty of Nemo, went for lunch at Aore resort, and visited the Freshwater plantation. It was very easy to relax in the hammock overlooking the pristine turquoise waters. I can honestly say we will be back without a doubt as 6 days spent at Sails did my family the world of good. Away from the rat race and it gave us the opportunity to have a really good insight into Island life. Thank you so much Nellie for letting us share your little bit of paradise!
