Awarded 2019 Bookabach Unique Gold. Enjoy rural New Zealand via The Cowshed experience and discover the pleasure of living in the gold mining hills of Waihi - beside rivers and streams, over paddocks and through pockets of native bush. The Cowshed is a great place for family getaways, walking holidays, a romantic escape or just to experience life on a small working farm. Accommodation is provided in the character-filled cowshed, beautifully restored and furnished to showcase rustic luxury.
The Cowshed has been transformed from a cow milking shed into a unique two bedroom, two bathroom sanctuary. Quality furnishings are integrated with recycled materials from the farm to create a relaxing interior, while still retaining a feel of “The Cowshed”.
  • We had a great time at The Cowshed and especially enjoyed all the innovative design features, being dairy farmers ourselves.!!! Is a great central spot for all the outdoor activities the area offers and is situated in a lovely bush setting. Would certainly recommend it.

Spend the weekend in our beautiful yurt on a river amongst wildflowers at the foot of a mountain. We are an off grid, solar powered organic farm in Karangahake Gorge, Waikino / Waitawheta with a beautiful yurt for guests. Our back gate opens on to one of NZ's most popular spots with bush walks, waterfalls & river swimming. 5 min drive from Hauraki Rail Trail & 25 minutes from surf beaches. Escape into nature & have a soul nourishing adventure.
Our farmstay is 5 minutes away from the stunning Karangahake Gorge. Our 6 metre yurt style is modern retro, bohemian and quirky - a unique glamping experience. Staying in a yurt is a beautiful experience, you will feel so at home amongst nature. We have 10 hectares of meadows & native bush, and we invite you to be a part of our solar powered, earth loving lifestyle. The yurt includes a super king size bed, a double sofa bed and a single futon. The beautiful, sustainably built bathroom includes a flushing compost toilet and a hot shower. Self-contained, covered kitchenette with everything you need including a fridge and BBQ. You will get a key to our back gate which takes you immediately on to Conservation land, the many beautiful walks of the Karangahake Gorge, and even the Kaimai Ranges. Sit out on the deck and watch the sunset on the mountain, watch the galaxy of stars appear over your head as the native ruru and glowworms make an appearance. This is especially suitable for families as we are a family run farm with lots of kids! We have a great climbing tree with a swing and slide coming out of it, a fairy garden and lots of space to be wild and free.
Our eco farm stay is at the foor of Karangahake, on the Waitawheta River. We have bush walks and waterfalls and biking and hiking and swimming galore. Adventurers and people wanting to get in touch with nature will enjoy our busy working farm at this very popular summer spot. We are five minutes from the award winning Bistro with its incredible wood fired pizzas, and a 15 minute drive away from the two local towns, Paeroa and Waihi. The Karangahake Gorge is right at the foot of the Coromandel, from here you could do some great day trips up to Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cover. Or you might want to head to the local surf beaches, Waihi Beach or Whangamata or all the other family friendly activities such as the awesome Bullswool Farm just up the road.
  • Staying in the yurt is a great experience, extremely comfortable and spacious. A very peaceful environment with beautiful views. Swimming in the river is wonderful on site or at the nearby Dickey Flat. Lots of good walks nearby. Tim and Lucy are very hospitable and welcoming. We would gladly return.

  • Lovely place, very well located for all the walks in the area. The interior was cute and well matched and it was probably the best equipped little place we’ve been to. We took our 23 month old and it was appropriate for him too. The place would be well suited for someone who struggled with mobility too. We’d visit again if coming back to the Gorge!

    Katharina2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

My place is close to parks, art and culture, historical goldmines. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the high ceiling, the location is near the beach and other places to visit along with lovely bush walks. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). We've been hosting B & B guest since 1988.

Modern cabin with private garden and separate entrance at side of my Railway Cottage (Central PAEROA, New Zealand). Ideal for two with continental breakfast and snacks. Off street parking and cycle storage. Nice interior with kitchenette and bathroom. Quality linen. Wifi. Large flat screen TV. Very clean and comfortable and in the perfect central location for The Hauraki Rail Trail or using as a base to explore The Coromandel and surrounding scenic areas.
This cabin is the perfect get-a-away as it's right in central PAEROA and within walking distance to shops, cafes and all that Paeroa has to offer. Perfect base for cycling The Hauraki Rail Trail. If you are spending a few days here you will have plenty of time to visit Te Aroha (Spa Town), Waihi and Thames (Gold Mining Towns) plus, you are at the gateway to the scenic Coromandel.
Paeroa is the Antique Town of New Zealand with interesting vintage and antiques shops to explore. Check out where the locals eat at The Refinery Cafe and The Courtyard Cafe. The Falls Bistro & Restaurant is a secret I can't keep as the food and setting is amazing! The perfect place for brunch or dinner. The Hauraki Rail Trail is the one of New Zealand's most accessible cycle trails with Paeroa being the perfect base. Close to Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga it's the perfect couple of days or weekend away. The temperate climate on the Coromandel Peninsula and the Hauraki Plains provides a great all-year round riding experience. The trail has some of the best scenery in New Zealand and includes riding through the stunning Karangahake Gorge, one of the "14 wonders of New Zealand”. The trail follows the path of two historic railway lines, running from Paeroa through Waikino to Waihi. Plus there's the Thames, Te Aroha and Kaiaua rides.

    Narelle2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is a well positioned gem in sleepy Paeroa. The thoughtful touches such as the home made breakfast and extra blankets made us feel at home. It is not a large space but perfect for couples and the space is stylish and functional. We were able to walk into town and the fact there is on site parking was another plus. The room was immaculate and extra care had been taken in preparing it for guests. Thanks Kerrie for a great stay!

    Tara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend the studio. Perfect for a couple who comes to discover the region for a few days. The presence of the fan was very much appreciated because it is still very hot in the accommodation (we came in summer).

    Sophie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nickel location for a stopover towards the Coromandelles. We slept very well, calmly. We didn't meet Kerrie but still appreciated her touches of attention, like the generous breakfast. To recommend without hesitation

Dickies Flat swimming hole is a short drive away and also offers access to numerous walking trails in the Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park. A private setting for guests to relax in with easy access to a variety of local tourist worthy attractions.
  • Wow--what a great spot. We desperately needed a peaceful escape from the city and wish we could have stayed longer. Everything is super clean and comfortable. We loved the hilly views and enjoyed watching the animals roam around. We also appreciated the surprise snacks waiting for us in the room. Can't fault anything--thanks for a wonderful stay. We hope to return in the near future!

  • Great wee cabin, perfect for couples. Very picturesque location, lots of birdsong, perfect backdrop for a soak in the huge bath. Neil knows the area well, and it's nice and close to Waihi and Paeroa, local walks are beautiful, and Owharoa falls is a special highlight. Well stocked brekkie supplies too!

  • A beautiful wee “home away from home” placed in amongst nature where you can truly take a moment to breathe.. from the moment we got there it was peacefully quiet with easy check in instructions. Wonderfully clean, incredible bed, amazing treats and as promised a double bath!! Our favourite part was getting to wake up and open the double doors which looked out onto nature and you could hear the birds singing. A much needed night away which exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

    James2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Phenomenal! Wish we could have stayed longer. The cozy cabin had everything we wanted, was squeaky clean, and was tastefully decorated. We loved the welcoming touches: salts for the bathtub, farm-fresh eggs and tomatoes right from the backyard, and local snacks. Great location close to a small winery and a beautiful waterfall that is great for a swim. Highly recommended!

    Ilya2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous little guest house with beautiful, sweeping views of the property and surrounds. We enjoyed the thoughtful touches Neil left for us - the breakfast food, snacks and drinks left in the fridge - and waking to the sounds of bird song in the mornings. Thank you for a relaxing stay Neil.

    Andrew2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We're so glad we chose to stay here! Neil's Airbnb is located on his beautiful lifestyle block/smallholding, so is best suited for people who don't mind waking up to the ducks foraging around on the grass outside. The chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, cows and horses gave us endless amusement to watch, either from the shady deck or even through the window from the brilliantly deep bath. For us, it was perfect- stunning views, in a rural location that is still well appointed for many of the fantastic local walks and nature spots (you WILL need a car if coming here, as with most of New Zealand). The building itself is very cleverly designed, allowing for sleeping, cooking and dining in the main space, with a short indoor/outdoor covered corridor to the wonderfully spacious and modern bathroom. A powerful shower, comfy bed and ability to make simple meals meant we were extremely comfortable, and everything was sparkling clean. Neil's place is a choice you will not regret!

  • Awesome accommodation, great location and a kind and welcoming host. Can't ask for anything more in a air bnb, all amenities and facilities included and in great condition. Recommended for all couples looking for a quiet rural retreat.

A lovely, self-contained, modern (with a retro twist) cottage on a Kiwifruit orchard overlooking wetland, farmland and beautiful native trees and plants. A quiet place to regroup, relax and rejuvenate as you listen to the birds, enjoy the fresh produce and herbs from the garden. The cottage is a light and bright space to enjoy some time out with comfortable spaces to hang out in. The fire keeps you warm and cosy in the winter and the deck is a great place to sit and watch nature go by.
Te Huia cottage is a wonderful retreat on a working Kiwifruit orchard hosted by Hana and Pete. We have travelled extensively, in New Zealand and around the world and we enjoy the opportunity to connect with people from all over the planet. Hana is a keen cook and we're blessed with lots of good food and produce from our home garden, orchard and from the beautiful Bay of Plenty. Guests will get to share our preserves, continental breakfast and baking. Hana is of Maori descent and Pete is a 5th generation Kiwi. We like looking after our planet so sustainability is important to us. We use eco-friendly products to reduce the impact on our environment. The cottage has some cool New Zealand art and collectibles. We have a good quality trundler bed which guests can use as an additional bed. There is a heat pump to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter and we have our very efficient Wood burner for the cool weather (and big stack of nice dry firewood). Te Huia Cottage is a great place to base yourself for a few days while you explore the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Coromandel and Hobbiton. Guests love to come back tp the cottage and unwind after a busy day of adventures where they can relax and plan their next adventure or kick back and take some time out.
Hana’s home is located in Aongatete, Katikati, Bay Of Plenty, New Zealand. We are in a rural setting surround by lifestyle blocks and orchards. Katikati is the Avocado capital of NZ and there is an abundance of fruit and produce. There is a well-stocked supermarket in town (8 minutes drive) and plenty of places within 30 minutes to dine. We have a character filled local pub which does pretty good bistro meals, Katikati Bird Gardens and Café and Leveret Estate Wines all within a 5 minute drive. There are plenty of things to do in the beautiful Bay of Plenty all within easy reach by car (bush and waterfall walks nearby and Waihi Beach, Tauranga and Mount Maunganui). There is a good local plant and produce market which offers great fresh food (fresh fish, prize-winning cheese, wood fired pizza, fruit, vegetables, baking, preserves, samosas) , flowers, plants and great organic natural health products on Fridays.
  • This accommodation far exceeded my expectations, a beautiful home away from home, you will not be disappointed. Private, sparking clean, modern fixtures, lots of hot water, gorgeous linen, comfortable bed and the couch so comfortable. The breakfast provided was plentiful, delicious and the homemade condiments and baking by Hana, was a wonderful personal touch. Set on a Kiwifruit orchard with views across rural land, you can't bet it, it's the best. The only noise I could hear was the odd cicada so you are guaranteed peace and quiet. Hana is an incredible hostess who genuinely cares about your stay, I'll say it again, you will not be disappointed.

    Shannon2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. You won't be disappointed . Lots of little added extras and sparkling clean

    Alison2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It is beautiful and well equipped. We would be very warmly welcomed. It's just mega!

    Niederhauser2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Te Huia cottage and we already want to go back! Hana’s place is one of our favorite Airbnb stays ever, and both she and Pete are wonderfully hospitable hosts. It’s so peaceful to walk to property amongst the kiwi fruit trees and the stock (sheep, cows, et al). We cooked dinner the first night, using some herbs from the garden, and everything we needed was available in the kitchen. Laundry facilities are provided with powder along with a clothesline for drying. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable, and air conditioning available- although it was just as comfy for us to sleep with the windows open. Oh, and what a treat to have homemade baked goods, homemade jams, and farm fresh eggs for breakfast, along with yogurt, coffee, and bread. Thank you Hana and Pete, we’ll be back!

  • Best Airbnb we have experienced in New Zealand.

    Robert - Jacqueline2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! We had the best stay at Hana’s place. From the moment of booking and receiving prompt, thoughtful replies, to leaving with a heartfelt message saying she loved having us and anything in between..... On arrival there were fresh produce in the fridge and on the kitchen bench. Hana had baked the most delicious muffins to welcome us. Fresh flowers inside and outside made us feel extra welcome. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. A complete kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, BBQ. Airco ( don’t worry too much about electricity as the cottage completely runs on solar power) and fire place. Gorgeous front porch, undercover if needs to be, but we were blessed with the best weather. Little veggie patch in your backyard for fresh herbs and vegetables. The sound of sheep, cows and chickens around you, all of them living the best life. So peaceful and relaxing. Hana came over on our first morning and helped us plan our stay with the best local tips. We loved Hana’s place so much that we tried to extend our stay, but unfortunately could not change the flights. We had 5 nights at her place, but as there is so much to do and see around Katikati, we could have easily spend another 5 nights. Hopefully we can return for another delightful stay. Karin

  • This is a very easy place to stay and Joselyn and Pablo are very welcoming. Their little son Nico is also very entertaining. The town is well located for the Kharangahake Gorge, Waiti Beach etc - just be warned that there aren't many eating options of an evening (Monday at least)

  • The property is located not far from the city center in Paeroa, almost directly on the Hauraki Rail Trail, in a quiet side street. The room was large and very clean, as was the rest of the house. Joselyn and Paplo are a young and very nice couple with a young son. I had good conversations with them and they gave me good tips for staying in Paeroa and for my further trip to New Zealand. Many thanks for the great time.

  • We didn't sleep in the specified tiny house but in the garage extension, so I can't write anything about the room here. The room we had was equipped with a kitchen and living area and was awesome. Anyway, we really enjoyed our stay. Kylie is a very nice and courteous host. Gladly again.

  • This is without a doubt one of the best Airbnb I have ever been to. Jacky and Bruce are great hosts, always around for a chat and gave us many recommendations about the area. They welcomed us with open arms and made our stay unforgettable. They offer a superb breakfast and we could use their kitchen anytime we wanted. The house is perfectly clean and very modern. The room is spacious and we had our own bathroom (also very big and it has a great shower). I would definitely come back and can recommend their place 100%.

Our 2 EcoPods are set amongst extensive gardens overlooking our Persimmon orchard and are close to nature walks, tramping, mountain biking tracks, safe swimming and surf beaches. Town centre with numerous cafes, restaurants and shops is only 8 minutes drive away. A great place as a base to tour the Coromandel e.g. Hot Water Beach is 45 minutes drive. You’ll love our place because of the comfy beds, peacefulness and typical Kiwi Hospitality. Please note the cost is $60.00 per person per night.
My husband Russell and I have lived at our property for 34 years. We invite you to share our piece of paradise with us. If you are a group of 4 travellers, see our other pod listed as Kauri View! Each pod has their own heater in case it is cold outside! We enjoy meeting travellers and offering genuine Kiwi hospitality. Our unique EcoPods have their own tea and coffee making facilities and guests will enjoy the comfort of their outdoor space. Persimmon season in our orchard runs from the end of May to July. Come and enjoy them!!
We live in a small valley that has farms, forestry, orchards and native bush reserves. Our property is bordered by a quiet meandering stream and has direct access to Coromandel Forest Park and the renowned Wentworth Valley Falls walk.
  • Often I find that ratings given on Airbnb are far too generous. In this case I would like to give 6 out of 5 for hospitality and attention! The shared facilities are great. Lovely shower and a good kitchen. Everything is spotless. Have a great time at there!!

  • Absolutely gorgeous place where you easily feel at home! Jacky and Bruce were fantastic hosts and if I go back to the area I will undoubtedly stay there again!

  • Jacky and Bruce a great hosts! Everything was superclean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, especially the self-baked bread was delicious. The village is in low-season very quite, there is only a little not-licensed general store with a café. The beach and the lagoon are beautiful.

    Claudia2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best AirBNB’s we’ve stayed in. Jacky & Bruce were so hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The house is modern and comfortable, has all the mod-cons, and is just a hop-skip-and-jump from the amazing white-sand Whiritoa beach. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The Cabin on Reel is a self contained studio unit set for a low key relaxing beach getaway. There's a small equipped kitchenette for self catering, a BBQ is also available. The garden area outside is separated from the host family house, so is quite nice to sit out to enjoy the evening out when weather permits.
The Cabin is situated just 10 mins easy walk to a beautiful safe sandy beach. Vibrant Waihi Beach Village is only 5 mins drive away for great food, art, dining and shopping. Or just a short 2 mins walk to the Surf Shack cafe for a delicious coffee/brunch.
Waihi Beach is one of the undiscovered gem of NZ, with 9km of the safest ocean beaches. Great fishing, surfing, scuba diving as well as excellent bush walk nearby. Athenree Hot Mineral pool is only a short drive away for relaxing natural therapeutic soak.

Located in the historic Karangahake Gorge, this bed and breakfast offers a vast array of experiences accessible from it’s superb location. The 2 acre tree lined property borders the Hauraki Cycle-way and has entry to a swimming hole on the Ohinemuri River. John is a sculptor and Julie is a florist and they work from their studios on the property. They have also both worked in the hospitality industry for many years and take great pleasure in helping guests to have the best stay possible.
Offering a perfect space on the top floor of the house for a couple looking to get away, or suitable for a small family/group of up to five. A perfect environment to wind down and rest on the sunny side of the river. A wooden spiral staircase leads guests to a two bedroom, one living and private bathroom space. The interiors are tastefully decorated and arranged. Inside a warm palette ties the interior together. A mixture of modern furniture and retro furnishings fill the two main living spaces. Ornaments, ephemera and sculptures are specifically curated to give the space a sense of homely warmth. The main living area opens up to a large outdoor dining space, a deck and spa which both have great views across the property and the lush gardens.
The property is in the heart of the Karangahake Gorge. A sharply winding canyon formed by the Ohinemuri River, that runs between the Coromandel and Kaimai ranges, at the southern end of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. In this area there is a range of activities for those looking to enjoy the outdoors; The Hauraki Rail Trail Cycleway from Thames to Waihi borders the property. Explore the rocky terrain and rich mining history of Karangahake Gorge Historic Walkway, carved by the boulder-strewn Ohinemuri River. Hike or bike along the old railway line, inspect the remnants and ruins of the gold mining industry, and delve into some of the former railway and mining tunnels. Several old bridges span the foaming water, including a wire suspension bridge.

We are located in a spectacular part of the Coromandel area. The ideal base for a walking or cycling holiday. See www.haurakirailtrail. co.nz for details. Plus the stunning, family friendly Waihi Beach is only a 20 mins drive. Hobbiton near Matamata is a 50 min drive.
  • Amazing cottage in a stunning location. Best spot to check out the area. As close as you can get to the start of the walking trails at Karangahake Gorge. Highly recommend.

  • Cute cottage in fabulous location to lovely walks in the gorge. Everything you need there for a cosy stay

    Paul2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, spacious, updated three bedroom home that has a classic yesteryear vibe, and a well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, nice yard, and soothing hot tub.   There is convenient off street parking with an easy walk to the gorge.  The wifi was a bit spotty and slow at times, but the hosts advised us they are having the equipment updated shortly.  The AirBNB descriptions and photos are accurate. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

  • Mike and Lesley's place was nice and cosy, and very clean. It was a delight to stay there. Their responses were also always prompt.

  • Fantastic cottage! Homely and historic but with all the mod cons. Spotlessly clean too. A great location for walks, cycling, cafe etc. Convenient distance from 2 townships. Recommending it to all our family and friends.

    Tracey2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly special place. I came with my wife and we both loved the quaint little cottage. The gardens were spectacular and the hot tub was so relaxing after many hours hiking. Mike and Lesley provide many suggestions for the area. The kitchen was well stocked and the house had lovely touches. Very quiet at night and the bed was so comfortable it was amazing. The shower was also great. Close to town for any needs. I highly recommend The Falls Retreat restaurant for a special meal and Royal Flavours Indian in the nearby town (on a side street) was amazing.

    Luke2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place. Lush peach tree. Great little private hot tub. Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Khushi2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful Airbnb! Mike and Lesley have furnished it very thoughtfully, it feels personal and cozy and has every amenity. Bathroom and kitchen are updated and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The view from the backyard is stunning. Hosts were helpful and also gave us plenty of privacy. Windows walk in the gorge is not to be missed. This was a great base for the beginning of our nz holiday!

Our two EcoPods are set amongst extensive gardens overlooking our Persimmon orchard and are close to nature walks, tramping, mountain biking tracks, safe swimming and surf beaches.
We enjoy meeting travellers and offering genuine Kiwi hospitality. Our unique EcoPods have their own tea and coffee making facilities and guests will enjoy the comfort of their outdoor space. The Kauri View Chalet is furnished with two king single beds. If you are a group of 4 travellers, check out our other pod called Magpies Mirror. It has a Queen bed inside. :-)
We live in a small valley that has farms, forestry, orchards and native bush reserves. Our property is bordered by a quiet meandering stream and has direct access to Coromandel Forest Park and the renowned Wentworth Valley Falls walk.
  • Fantastic, everything was outstanding

    Joy2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t rate this air bnb more highly. This was our favourite experience in New Zealand and we have stayed at a lot of air bnbs! Great value for money. The pod itself is gorgeous, so so quiet with a lot of privacy. The beds are so soft, gorgeous linen we had an amazing sleep. You can hear the cicadas as you go to sleep, so peaceful and quiet. Everything was incredibly clean in the pod, I believe the sheets had even been ironed by the looks! The property is stunning, great location close to town, but amazing views. All was provided - soap, breakfast items, fruit, home baking, you name it! The shower was fantastic, high pressure, modern, fresh towels, everything. Every little detail has been thought of here for the most incredible stay. Most special are your hosts - Maryanne and Russell. They welcome you in the most warm and kind way. You can immediately tell that they are passionate about their air bnb, but also genuinely kind and warm people. This welcome set us up for such a positive retreat away and created a lovely start to the holiday. If you are travelling from overseas, they would be incredible hosts in terms of making you feel so at home and welcome. We will definitely be back for another incredible stay (and quiet, cosy sleep!). The photos don’t do this place justice, highly recommend.

The ideal couple get-away!! Paeroa Railway cottage is right in central Paeroa. 2 minutes to cafes, shopping and supermarket. Perfect location to explore the Hauraki Rail Trail and the Coromandel area. The entire cottage is yours and continental breakfast and snacks are provided. Comfortable bed with 5 star hotel linen and towels. Super clean & modern interiors. Air Con and heat pump, large TV and all amenities you would expect from a hotel stay! Plus, no cleaning fees!
Restored to it's former glory Paeroa Railway Cottage is over 100 years yet inside has all the features of an apartment. It's situated in a quiet sleepy street on the banks of the Ohinemuri river offering privacy and a comfortable, convenient space to explore the surrounding areas of Thames, Waihi, Te-Aroha and the Coromendel.
Paeroa Railway Cottage is situated just one street back from the centre of Paeroa . Right on the banks of the Ohinemuri river (Hauraki Rail Trail). You can stumble out of bed and on to your cycle! Paeroa is the perfect place to stay if you are exploring the Coromendel area. Each town you may visit like Te Aroha, Waihi, Thames, Hot Water Beach or even Hobbliton is not far away. Paeroa is full of interesting antique shops and I can personally recommend the Courtyard Cafe or The Refinery for breakfast or lunch. Both cafes will tempt you with their homemade creations!
  • Amazing place, great amenities and it was sparkling clean. Sadly we were staying just 1 night. Would definitely recommend this property.

    Aarati2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Angela and Chris are very genuine people. We.had so many things in common it was amazing. The bed was so comfortable and the room was spacious. Grand old house and surprisingly warm. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone. Really enjoyed my stay

  • Recommend to others traveling in the area to stay and share in the local history

    Mike2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the beautiful ancient Talisman House with Angela and her friendly family. The room itself was very large with beautifully high ceiling. Angela and Chris made us feel very welcome and at home and it was lovely to take part at their live for two days. The pooltable and the whole gamesroom are a cool additional place to use. Comfy beds. Highly recommended.

    Alex2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Talisman House is truly a historical building still on original foundations. It is beautifully preserved, keeping in mind that the present owners are in the midst of some major renovations and improvements. A good place to base exploring the Thames Coromandel and the Pacific Waihi side. Ngaruawahia is also only just through beautiful countryside -only one hour's drive away.

    Wendy2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Angela & Chris were both warm & friendly. This is a home where children are running about, but time is made to include visitors and make them feel very welcome. The house is delightful - an old place still needing work but very comfortable & warm. Loved our stay.

    Lindy2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • In my opinion the host is a very kind family. I want to stay again
