Places to stay in Wingdale
Our perfect escape is just under two hours away and includes everything you need to relax, including: high-speed internet & wifi, speaker system throughout the house, projector, espresso machine, jacuzzi bath, a wood burning fireplace, a hot tub with a priceless view of the Hudson Valley, outdoor firepit and more. Get away from the city without having to spend four hours stuck in traffic! Your temporary haven is also conveniently close to many ski areas and a variety of beautiful hikes.
Relax in our large, cozy home nestled in the woods that we lovingly call ‘The Perch! Just the view alone from our deck and from inside our ample 6-person hot tub in the backyard is worth making the trip. Perfect for larger families or singles/couples that want to stretch their legs, our home has 3 comfortable bedrooms (two equipped with one king size bed each, one with a queen size) on the main floor and the loft. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the other has easy access to the entrance bathroom. Additional sleeping space is available on the basement floor with four twin XL beds that typically act as couches with limited privacy between them and a bathroom nearby, plus an additional 2 queen and 3 twin xl air mattresses to be setup anywhere in the house. All bathrooms are equipped with shampoo, soap, conditioner and towels. During summers, keep cool with our central A/C and rest assured you’ll keep warm during cooler weather with forced air heating plus a backup baseboard heating system (we also have a 20Kw backup generator). Bring some marshmallows or a good book to snuggle in front of our wood burning fireplace in the Great Room, where you can also enjoy records or digital music from Spotify, controlled via an iPad. WiFi enabled speakers are available in two bedrooms, the deck and outdoor area, the living room, and hot tub area (equipped with fresh towels) — you can also ask, "Alexa" or "Computer" to play music in most rooms. For those that prefer analog activities, we've got a bunch of board games and puzzles in the living room, from classics like Monopoly and Settlers of Catan to Kickstarter favorites like Cards Against Humanity. Bookworms can cozy up in our dedicated reading nook with a view, and if you forgot yours, you can borrow one from our small library in the downstairs bedroom/study. Entertainment can be found in our finished basement, including: a pool table, a full band setup (drum set, guitar, bass, keyboard), and a high quality 4K movie projector. There's also a sit/stand desk and a 28" external monitor if you have to take care of any work or need a place to work on your novel. To print something in a pinch, or to lookup that recipe, you can use a Mac Mini in our kitchen connected to a color printer. Chefs, bakers and dinner party enthusiasts will delight in our fully-equipped kitchen that includes: an electric oven and stove top, microwave, dishwasher, and subzero refrigerator/freezer, standing mixer, blender, crock pot, food processor, cappuccino maker, and more. Depending on the season, you can also enjoy the bounty of fresh vegetables and herbs from our outdoor garden during your stay. The deck also has a 3-burner Weber grill for any impromptu BBQ parties. Outdoor sports fans can find footballs, soccer balls, a bike, cornhole set, a bocce set, and various other sports equipment in a guest-accessible shed. We have our very own hike on the property that takes around 30 minutes called the Turkey Trail that can be accessed from the driveway. We do allow dogs for an additional $100 cleaning fee.
Our neighborhood is very quiet. It's residential, but we're on enough land with a long enough driveway for the house to feel very private. We're near a bunch of ski areas, lakes, ponds, hiking trails (including an Appalachian Trail waypoint), and just a hop skip and a jump from Woodstock, the Hudson Valley wine region, etc.
  • The Perch was simply perfect!!!!!! There were more alexa speakers, kitchen cooking gadgets, and activities to do than we could shake a stick at! We will 1000% be staying here again in the near future!

  • Amazing place for groups!

    John2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the perch far exceeded our expectations. We recommend it to everyone. Such a tranquil get away with enough room for a larger group of people, but was very quaint for two.

    Jennifer2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Zach was a great host. He was really communicative about check in and house rules, and anything else I needed answers to the whole stay. The house itself had everything we needed and in a great location. We would definitely recommend.

    Jeff2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bernadette and Zach's home is so beautiful with the wood accents, hill top view, and lofted cabin space. We had a large 10+ group on our trip but everyone was comfortable with the many additional pull out beds and 4 baths. The thoughtful touches like the plethora of books, board games, cooking utensils, and smart home made the trip extra fun and effortless. Lastly there's some great unique amenities like a hot tub, band set, and mini hiking trail!

    Karen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd time staying at the Perch and everything was great. Will definitely be back in the future.

  • It is a beautiful house, perfect for weekend getaway. The house was very nicely decorated, quiet and peaceful.

  • The Perch is one of my favorite Airbnb homes I’ve ever stayed in. It has everything you need to relax and go off the grid, but also all the conveniences you might need to stay connected too. From the beautiful furnishings and spacious rooms to the stunning view to the modern technological amenities, this place really has everything! We spent evenings playing pool, relaxing in the hot tub, and unwinding in front of the cozy fireplace with a glass of wine. There is a fantastic sound system and tons of board games at your disposal too. And the beds were super comfy! The place was so big, we just kept saying “I don’t think we brought enough people!” But at the same time, it is perfect and cozy for just a couple too. We loved it so much, we just couldn’t wait to book again! Can’t wait to go back to The Perch again next month :)

  • My friends and I had a wonderful time at Bob’s beautiful home. It’s spacious, full of natural sunlight, and extremely relaxing surrounded by nature. Can’t wait to be back!

    Fanny2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Bob's home is beautiful and comfortable for a large group. The kitchen is bright and well stocked, and there are comfy couches surrounding a big fireplace. Bob was super responsive and helpful. We were lucky enough to arrive just before a snow storm, and we were able to enjoy the cozy home as beautiful snow fell outside. We then enjoyed sledding on the field below the house. We were two families with small children, and we fit nicely in the two areas of the house that have bedrooms. A lovely winter weekend.

    Jenny2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • As pictured. Perfect for our needs! Host was terrific.

    Deborah2020-01-16T00:00:00Z

  • Bob is a terrific host, and his house is a great place to escape from the city. There are plenty of spaces to spread out, a wonderful wood-burning fireplace, a charming lake and plenty of outdoor space. Close to Pawling and several good restaurants.

  • We had a lovely winter weekend getaway at Andrea's place. It was very cozy but plenty of space for our family of three (and then some). Andrea leaves the place incredibly well stocked with anything and everything you could need, from good, wine, chocolate and beer to toiletries and first aid. The surroundings are bucolic, very quiet and just what we had in mind for a getaway in the country. Also, all the AV worked perfectly, nice television setup with all the streaming services connected. Great place to get a away for the weekend!

    Arthur2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I greatly enjoyed our stay in Andrea's lovely home. It is close to Beacon, which is a plus, as we were traveling to visit the museum, Dia: Beacon. The location is also perfect for people who want to get away from the city—it's surrounded by trees and has some great nearby parks for strolls. The amenities were amazing. This was by far one of the best Airbnb experiences I have ever had. I hope to return in the near future. :)

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was probably the best airbnb experience I've had! Andrea's home was fantastic. The house itself is a beautiful, 200+ year old building which has been tastefully updated with modern amenities. Communication with Andrea was excellent and we were fortunate enough to be able to say hello in person shortly before we left. The house was extremely clean and Andrea added dozens of little touches to welcome us. Everything from leaving us two bottles of wine to recommendations on things to do in the area. The house is located on a very quiet street, surrounded by beautiful trees and plenty of space. This is the ideal place to stay for those looking to escape NYC for a weekend. We definitely hope to return in the future. Thanks, Andrea!

    Ben2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Five stars and then some!! Andrea went above and beyond and provided everything we needed. Great communication and a beauuuutiful old home. Historic much?? Definitely Little Women vibes. Go off Andrea!! 💖

    Kyle2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea has an amazing home and is a wonderful host. We loved the charming decorations and all the little personal touches. We could not have chosen a better stay in this area. Everything was very clean and organized. Highly recommended.

    Orlando2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place. I've stayed at a few AirBnBs before, but this place raised the bar! The place was so cute, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Andrea left a nice welcome note and has the place stocked to the top with snacks and sundries that you may forget. After traveling all day, it was nice not to have to get coffee for the morning. While we traveled for a weekend of flea marketing, we could have easily just chilled at the house, WiFi and streaming services are available, but just enjoying the surroundings could have been just as nice. My sister and I are already making plans for going back. This is a perfect place for leaf peepers, a country get away, visits to upstate NY and CT wineries. If you don't like relaxing, this isn't the place for you. If you're looking to get away from it all - make a reservation today!

It's extremely spacious and private. The guesthouse has a large porch with amazing views of the mountains! Comfy and clean bed too. Would definitely stay again or recommend to a friend! The house sits on a bucolic plot of land with a large pond out back. This is not a fully functioning inn, but a historical home called the “Blue Bird” which operated as an inn after it was built in the early 1800s. The Blue Bird then served as my family’s homestead for decades, for which I am now caretaker.
Two bedrooms and a separate full bath with a private entrance, located on the second floor of a quiet country home. You’ll have a small private porch to enjoy. The green bedroom also overlooks the pond for easy bird watching with morning coffee.
This space is an ideal landing pad for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Located across the road from the Blue Bird is an entrance to a network of hiking trails called the Pawling Nature Reserve, and there is also direct Appalachian Trail access less than a quarter mile away. A day’s hike or less can take you through beautiful farm pasture, a boardwalk across the Great Swamp, and the Cat Rocks which overlook the Harlem Valley. Please message me directly about special accommodations I offer for hikers. The Blue Bird is a short drive into the sleepy village of Pawling, which has a variety of nice restaurants, taverns and shops. Mckinney and Doyle’s is famous for its bakery and restaurant, serving dinner and lunch weekdays, and weekend brunch. Pawling Bread Co. also offers an excellent beakfast/brunch on the weekends. For more casual fare we have great pubs including The Pawling Tavern and O’Conner’s Pub. For pizza and Italian food there is Gaudino's Pizza and Pasta and 3 Guys From the Bronx.
  • I enjoyed my stay at the Blue Bird Inn quite a bit. The apartment was very clean and charming. Checkin was easy. There were great local recommendations available. Dennis was a wonderful, thoughtful host who responded to my messages very quickly.

  • Cozy and clean ! Just as described cute and comfortable.

    Dasha2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do justice to this place. The big bedroom is adorable, with beautiful antiques and a LOT of space. There are many thoughtful touches making the guests feel taken care of: sparkling water in the fridge, coffee and tea (including decaf, which I use and never find anywhere!) and products in the bathroom. Check-in was simple, location was great, and Dennis was very responsive. We had all our privacy. I definitely recommend, and I’d love to see this place in the summer and try the hike so maybe we’ll be back!

    Alexandra2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • The Blue Bird Inn was our home away from home during a weekend getaway to Pawling, and we were blown away by the gorgeous location (including the pond in the backyard!) and adorable vintage aesthetic of the rooms. Dennis was a wonderful host and was very responsive and accommodating to our requests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the area!

My home is a 4 bedroom space, where I live with my 2 dogs and some of the time- my kids. It's really close to the W. Hikers enjoy putting their tent up on my deck and luxuriating in a hot shower, comfortable living room with fireplace, wiFi, washer/dryer and a propane grill on the deck! My home enjoys lots of beautiful natural light, plant food and a zen feel. I don't eat animal products nor drink alcohol or smoke.

  • Very nice rooms. Scott is very friendly and helpful and has a lot of tips for trips around Pawling.

    Andreas2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Host, house, and location are all wonderful! Scott is a warm and generous host -- he gave me tips about hikes in the area and made sure I had everything I needed. His dog Rosie is a lovebug and makes the place even more homely. The house itself is clean and well-stocked, and the bed is comfy. Finally, the location is great -- 20min walk from a beautiful section of the AT and a short drive from Pawling (or an hour's walk)

    Wiley2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • As Appalachian Trail hikers Scott was a great host with great tips about town, made sure we were super comfortable in his home. Offered us food and help with transportation. He was fun to chat with and his dinner recommendation was fabulous. If we ever come back to Pawling we would definitely stay again!

  • Scott's place was exactly what I was looking for. The neighborhood was beautiful. The house was spacious and there was even a nice outdoor space to relax and have breakfast or practice yoga. His suggestions for dining and a local supermarket were helpful. His dogs are sweethearts. He was extremely accomodating; especially with my checking in and checking out. He was truly a kind and thoughtful host.

Fancy something a little more unique? Tired of the usual? Come and enjoy a one of a kind converted tobacco barn filled with unique artwork and industrial lighting - plus a grand piano! We are located in the beautiful Litchfield Hills surrounded by great walking trails and local eateries- two pubs within walking distance and an Italian deli truck just down the road. Within two hours of NYC, this is an ideal getaway. Come and see why😀
The main living area is just six feet from the road up two steps . The bathroom and shower are on the main floor with the bedroom up a flight of stairs with a rail.
We are close to many great walking trails , eateries, antique shops and the two local towns of Washington and New Preston which have many boutiques and one off shops. I am planning to have a full guide book available in the apartment and am always only a door away for advice.

  • Once again the sun cottage exceeded my expectations as this was the third time I have been there. Each time Erin has upgraded details within the cottage. This time I even walked to two Local establishments both wonderful, 202 and Whitehorse Tavern are gems in the area. I highly recommend the “ relaxation station“ for anybody looking for an amazing view, wonderful location and most thoughtful hostess.

The Cozy Inn is located on a working farm, nestled in Kent Hollow near Lake Waramug. The bed & breakfast is in the old Camps family farmhouse, which has just been fully renovated. The inn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the quiet rural community of Kent, Connecticut, or be a home base for exploring the rich cultural history and hikes of Litchfield County.
The farmhouse dates back to approximately 1760, and has been complete renovated to expose the original architecture with modern amenities. Each room has a private HVAC unit, a beautiful new toilet and shower or tub, and original wooden floors. The house has a small back deck, overlooking the lawn and the field, perfect for a quiet breakfast or sitting in the sun with a favorite novel. It's off the beaten path, with a pretty hop yard, garden, and open fields, to get some time in the country. And of course, Kent Falls Brewing Company is next door and is open for tours and tastings Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the perfect way to end a beautiful day.
The farmhouse is just a few yards away from Kent Falls Brewing Company, which is open for tasting and tours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The property is located near Lake Waramug in South Kent. It's a short drive to New Preston/Washington, Kent, and New Milford. There's plenty of hiking, bike riding, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
  • David and Anh have created a fantastic getaway space. The accommodations are even more charming in person than they appear in photographs (do not leave without soaking in the antique tub!), and the hospitality offered by them both made us feel welcome and taken care of. The farm is tucked away just far enough to feel like you are truly getting away from the hustle and bustle, but it is easy to find and near enough to town to be convenient. We would gladly reserve more time at David and Anh's B&B.

  • We loved our weekend stay at this adorable home. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen, enjoyed the sun-filled breakfast nook and warmed up by the wood stove at night. It has all the charm of an old farmhouse, but is modernized for comfort. We've already talked about coming back when the weather is warmer!

  • A beautiful and wonderfully peaceful home. The hosts were wonderful and responsive.

  • My friends and I had a perfect weekend getaway at this cottage. It had everything we needed to steal away from the city for stargazing, home-cooked meals, and cozy winter nights in front of the fire. Can't recommend it enough! Will definitely be returning for warmer weather as well.

  • A wonderful home with a host of charm and character throughout each and every room. The cottage is a lovely place to get cozy and saddle up by the fire. We were fortunate enough to have snow during our stay, which only added to the fairytale feel. We also took time to explore the Appalachian Trail, some of the local farms, shops, and nearby towns. It was a fantastic all-around weekend. Which also couldn't have been made possibly by Cory. He was so thorough, responsive, and his attention to detail made the entire process so smooth. It almost felt like we actually lived there for a few days. Highly recommend for those looking for a quaint getaway. Thank you, Cory!

  • The cottage was very warm and welcoming. Sharoan left some breakfast items and common cooking essentials like salt/pepper, oil spray, etc. so we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast both mornings we stayed. The cottage brings in a lot of light and has great views of the forest in the back of the cottage which gave the cottage an extra cozy feeling. She left DVDs that we could watch and the TV also has access to Netflix. We had a great weekend here, can't wait to stay again!

    Mariela2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sharoan's cottage was the perfect choice for our long weekend anniversary celebration. Impeccable taste, super clean, lots of little food extras. Great central location to visit many local towns, lakes, parks, etc. You will not be disappointed.

Colorful, sunlit bedroom in my private home for women or couple only. Cozy country cottage, extensive gardens. Share kitchen, bath and living spaces with owner. Near S. Kent School, 3 -1/2 miles from center of Kent, 4 miles to Appalachian Trail, in scenic rural Litchfield County.
People love my funny little house and I love it too. It's a 1946 lake cottage with lots of character, being lovingly renovated and with great views. The cheerful, clean and airy guest room has views in three directions - up the mountain into my gardens, out to the lake and through an old apple tree. It is uncluttered and colorful, with a good reading lamp, computer desk and empty bureau. The bed can function as a king-sized or as one or two singles - It has a roll-out lower trundle that can be raised to the same level as the upper mattress (and made up as one, with lovely soft sheets). Or it can be configured as two twins, either at the same level, or if one is left at the lower setting, it can be tucked away for more floor space during the day. Beds can be positioned side-by-side or rolled apart - Please let me know how you would like beds arranged. The bath is shared - it's a one bathroom house. Everything here is pretty much organic/no artificial anything, so you won't be assaulted with room fresheners, scented sheets or icky chemical cleaners. New mattress covers, pads, sheets, blankets and quilt cover the beds, which guests report are quite comfortable. There is great cellphone service in this neighborhood - not always the case in this mountainous area. During the week and in the off-season, one-night stays are fine. Peak-season summer and fall foliage weekends have a 2 night minimum, unless there is a last-minute vacancy or blocked days. Please note that this is not a hotel or commercial bed and breakfast, it is my home. I appreciate guests who fill out their profile and tell me something about themselves before asking to book the room . Do not turn into a driveway even if your phone tells you "you have arrived" unless you see the signpost and railing in the listing photos.
This is the country and there is no public transportation. It is just plain beautiful here - woods and water, mountains reflected in the lake, quiet and dark at night. It's not fancy or pretentious or overdeveloped, just nice. The historic Bull's Bridge, one of the few still-operating covered bridges in the state, is around the corner and is a sight to see when the waters are rushing by. Kent is full of permanently protected open space and it's a short drive to access to miles and miles of hiking trails from easy to challenging. It is dark and quiet here at night. Kent Falls and Lake Waramaug are nearby along with art galleries, antiquing opportunities and great restaurants.

  • My husband and I loved our stay here in Karen’s cozy cottage in a quiet neighborhood. It is set back off a beautiful road across from a huge pond and located just minutes from beautiful downtown Kent! Small home but a very pleasant stay! Karen is a warm and a thoughtful host. She was very prompt with her correspondence and greeted us when we arrived. Karen made herself available to get to know us, and graciously opened her kitchen to us for breakfast. She always had great suggestions of where to eat and what to see in the area. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Karen! <3

Kent, CT is the place to be if you enjoy the outdoors; from hiking, birding, kayaking to fishing. It's also a great place for biking and walking as the scenery is beautiful. There is much to explore including gardens, farms and wineries/distilleries/breweries. This northwest corner of CT in the Litchfield Hills is a magical, laid back area of New England where you will find neighborhood bars, not clubs. Enjoy low key restaurants with gourmet food or cook at home with farm fresh ingredients.
Enjoy beautiful Litchfield County, CT from a well appointed art filled, one bedroom cottage that perches on a hill with sunset views of Hatch Pond. Access is by private road. Open floor plan in the living/dining/kitchen area with new stainless appliances. Very quiet and relaxing decor with large windows and deck looking out to Hatch Pond and wooded areas. Front porch deck overlooking Hatch Pond, shade garden, hammock, stone patio area, parking place for two vehicles, privacy, and four short miles to the town center of Kent. Stone fire place, hardwood floors, indoor dining area, gas grill and table for four on front deck during late spring to late fall. Fire pit on the stone patio. Kent is a four season area. Winter brings both down hill and cross country skiing, spring beautiful gardens, hiking and biking, summer fishing and swimming, and fall beautiful changing of the leaves, mums and pumpkins. Lake View Cottage is near many boarding schools including South Kent school around the corner, fishing, biking, on CT wine trail, Appalachian Trail, near Kent Falls and Bulls Bridge, antiquing on scenic Route 7, swimming in Lake Waramaug, great restaurants and shops in Kent, CT. This is the perfect place if you want quiet and relaxation, to read, sit by the fire or on the deck depending on the season, and just get away from it all. Kent is very low key and casual. If you are looking for night life or craziness this is not the place you want to book.......... Must be okay with cats as two sometimes live here (might or might not be there during your stay).............

The Milk House is located in the middle of a working farm in Dutchess County. Depending on when you arrive you might see us heading to market, moving cows to a new pasture, feeding chickens or pigs, taking out the compost or possibly (but not likely) taking the day off. We've got stars in the sky and outside of an occasional exclamation from the rooster, very quiet nights. The closest gas station is less than ten minutes away, but you'll be about twenty minutes away from a shot of espresso.
The cottage is cozy but there's a good chance you'll spend most of your time outside. We have 250 acres of property and views of Ten Mile River. We raise pastured beef, pork, chickens and dozens of varieties of herbs and vegetables, as well as mushrooms and honey. Your backyard overlooks open pastures and the Appalachian Trail is just a ten minute walk from the front door.
Our farm is the perfect place to unwind and unplug but close enough to town to grab a bite or take in a film. We'll send a list of our favorite farm stores, bakeries and restaurants upon booking.
  • Amazing weekend at the milk house! It’s the perfect place to unwind and disconnect. The fireplace was perfect and the bed was super comfortable. You should take advantage of the farm tour; Helga led our tour and it was one of the highlights of our stay. She’s a wealth of knowledge, warm and personable! We will be back.

    Lori2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Milk House was the perfect getaway from NYC. It was really comfortable for 7 of us. And the nice thing is, the couch is actually made up of two mattresses, so you can crash there too. Alicia was super communicative and helpful when I had questions. She gave us tips of things to check out in the area and looked into local skiing options for us. We didn’t end up skiing because Thunder Ridge (about 20 mins drive) is a really small mountain better for kids and beginners, and Catamount (about an hour drive) felt too far for us for the weekend. But there are a couple of options. The house was so cozy and nicely decorated. We used the fireplace the whole weekend and loved walking around, exploring the grounds and looking at the animals. The little “market” next to the Milk House was great. Cash only. We bought farm fresh eggs (they were beautiful and delicious!) and jams. It was great to eat locally. There is not a ton to do in the area, but that’s exactly what we were looking for. There are a couple of breweries within 30 mins driving distance, if you feel like driving. The staff on site was great. We met two (only got one name — Britta), and they were really helpful with refilling our water and helping us with the trash. Overall, this was a great stay and the perfect getaway from NYC. If you want somewhere quiet to go for a low key weekend within less than 2 hours drive of the city, definitely check out this unique and charming spot. Would definitely go back.

    Ali2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely! Exactly as described. My group felt super comfortable the entire time. Would absolutely return, if not just to see the cows!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alicia is a great host! Super responsive and thoughtful. We stayed here in winter and there was plenty of fire wood to keep us warm all night, and the place is nice and cozy, good for groups. Would definitely recommend / come back in the future!

  • Like a little dream coming true, escaping the city in this cozy milk house, surrounded by a charming farm and beautiful nature. Simple pleasures: a glass of wine by the fireplace, comfortable beds, fresh air, good food (some can be purchased on site!), farm animals around. Was perfect for our family with 2 little ones (2 and 4 years old) and great hospitality of Alicia! Thanks a lot and see you soon again

This is a private suite in a beautiful home. It is an incredible, sunlit room in a beautiful natural setting. There's a private entrance to the suite via the back porch. the suite has an attached full bathroom. You may (if you wish) enter the common area of the house through a door (which you can lock from the inside). This is an ideal place for a private getaway or guests can enjoy shared spaces like the kitchen and dining area.
Very much like a hotel room but with an incredible sunlit bathroom and two sinks. The private entrance connects to your private back porch which can be seen through floor to ceiling glass windows. Located in the middle of the woods, there's a stream out back, and a hiking trail next door. It's the best place in the world to relax and escape.
There is no better place to relax and unwind between your trips to hike, swim, and shop at the best flea markets. Happy to help you find the best in the area, just ask.

Two bright, beautiful bedrooms with a bathroom. A perfect spot for a family or group to rest, or for a romantic getaway. Hiking, a stream on the property, and incredible views. You'll be rejuvenated by nature. Not to mention the free coffee.
This is a private wing of a beautiful home in the woods. No neighbors nearby.
The house is in a rural area but a short drive from New Milford, Sherman and Kent!
  • I really recommend this place! If you are looking for a relaxing stay, this place will definitely meet your expectation. Very clean room, towels provided including a very nice bathroom, as well as new appliances that you are free to use such as washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. I booked a private section of the house so we had two rooms. The kitchen and living room is shared with a private deck area where we had breakfast. My friend and I stayed in and cooked most of the meals. It was so convenient that this place had so many tools and dishes to use. Mind you, this place is BEAUTIFUL. Mirta decorated this place so tastefully.

  • Mirta was great! Quickly responded and so nice. My husband and I have never booked a private room before, we always get our own place. But it felt like our own place because Mirta let us be until we needed the heat turned on and she was there to help! Would definitely stay here again if we come out this way!

  • I had a very relaxing stay when I was visiting Kent. The rooms were very nice, super clean and did I mention relaxing? This home is in a very quiet area surrounded by beautiful woods. but very close to town as well.

  • Great space! Easy to find. Quiet. Comfortable. Just book it, you won’t regret it!

    Heidi2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Airbnb fell through so we were searching for a last-minute replacement near my mom's house and Mirta saved the day! She was immediately responsive to our inquiry about the set up of the space and if it was private to only our party (it was!). We were confirmed for two nights within an hour, which gave us such peace of mind to enjoy the rest of our weekend. Mirta was very accommodating for our late arrival, graciously welcomed us and showed us to the private wing (two bedrooms with a private bath) in their wonderful house. The house is on a beautiful country road and has a lovely brook at the edge of the backyard flowing out of the adjoining nature preserve. It couldn't be more peaceful and truly exceeded our expectations. Mirta and Gabriel provide a Nespresso machine with unlimited coffee, which we took out with our chairs to sit by the brook each morning. They are special people and keep the house is perfect order with love and attention. Everything is immaculately clean, there is beautiful art on the walls, and a collection of lovingly attended to house plants. Can't wait to return!

  • Quaint house in a quiet spot, we drove out to there from NY not knowing what to expect. To our great pleasure we were warmly welcomed by Mirta and her mom Elsa, 2 adorable, warm woman. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with them and are waiting for our next opportunity to get up there

A spacious, very quiet, completely private first floor room with its own entrance at the back of my 1844 Italianate Victorian. There’s a queen bed, 2 upholstered chairs, and a wood table with 4 chairs where you can bring in food, your laptop, or borrow a game or jigsaw puzzle! The half bath is on the first floor, with a full bath (shower, no tub) on the second floor. The access and use is completely private.
This sunny room is large but very cozy with 10’ ceilings, reading lamps for reading in bed, an antique Hoosier cabinet containing coffee and tea making equipment with a variety of coffee and teas, a small fridge, a corkscrew with wine glasses, and a bottle opener. There’s a queen bed, lots of pillow options, and 2 upholstered chairs. The table offers plenty of space to work or draw, bring in food or play a game. The back yard and patio is a quiet place to relax with a table and chairs, and a swing seat hanging from the sycamore tree. The half bath is on the first floor, with a full tiled bath (shower, no tub) right above it on the second floor. This access is up one flight of stairs (they are somewhat steep and shallow, the old servant's stairs) and is completely yours alone, with nothing shared or access to or from the house. New Milford boasts one of the loveliest greens in New England. I'm in walking distance (under 5 minutes), there are many wonderful restaurants, a movie theater, live theater, fun shops, great breakfast spots and a newly opened walking/biking trail along the Housatonic River. With Roxbury and Washington to the east, Kent and Litchfield to the north, and so many other charming towns in the area, you’ll be centrally located for wining, dining and adventure. My home is situated between Canterbury School and the town green, and is a 5 minute walk in either direction. Saturday mornings host a vibrant farmers market from 9 to 12. Fresh plants, veggies and fruits, breads, beer, cider donuts, goat cheese and goat soap, natural pet food, local meats and farm fresh eggs are all available from local vendors.
Very quiet, the room is on the back of the house with little road noise. Parking is in the back as well and completely safe.
  • Room was spacious but cozy, beautiful house and neighborhood - we really enjoyed our stay!

  • We had a lovely stay for the night at Pat’s place. Pat met us in person and talked us through everything in the suite, as well as giving us some brilliant recommendations for dinner and drinks in New Milford. The town is really cute and there’s plenty to do there. After dinner we made the most of the board games cupboard and had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. Thanks Pat!

  • The one thing that my husband and I were looking for was a comfortable bed near Daryl's House (a small concert venue and club). Deborah's place fit the bill perfectly. The room was immaculately clean with the bathroom just next to it. We unfortunately didn't get to meet Deborah, but that's because our schedule was tight. But communication and location were perfect as well. If we need to be in Pawling again, we will definitely considering that comfy bed and great location and price.

Have you been wanting to hike the Appalachian Trail, but don't know where to start? Here you go! This is a cozy 3 bedroom, 1 bath, with full basement, and 3 acres of land. Located in quaint and historic town of Pawling, NY, about 90 minutes from NYC. Walking distance from the train! Enjoy mother nature at it's finest with a short hike up historic Quaker Hill section of the Appalachian Trail. Start from the steps out the back door! Pets and kids welcome!
This home has 3 bedrooms, with a newly remodeled bathroom, and kitchen. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. All bedding is new. Towels are provided. The yard itself is set on 3 acres, and is mostly covered in native forest. The trees around the house are filled with tree frogs, and there is plenty of room in the yard to stretch out and play some games. The property backs up to public lands, and the trail meets up with the Appalachian Trail. This section is called Hammersley Ridge. It is an excellent stopping point on the trail between Bear Mtn. and the Berkshires in Massachusetts.
Pawling is a historic New England town set in Upstate New York. Popular times of year to book include the fall during the changing of the leave's colors, and summer, where the backyard meets up with the Appalachian Trail.
  • House was very clean upon arrival! Address is easy to find and home was very comfortable .

  • If you have high expectations for a cozy, well-designed, incredibly well located and SPOTLESS home to stay in, you won't be disappointed. Actual steps to trailhead in Pawling Reserve and absolutely walking distance from the train station named "Appalachian Trail". You could conceivably leave Connecticut after breakfast and walk the AT to this house in time to cook dinner. If you are coming in out of the woods or off the slopes, there is a proper basement to hang out/store your gear, and full laundry. Practical items like fire extinguisher and first aid kit, other touches like actually enough pillows in the living room and sitting areas, and tons of spare blankets and towels. Cooking basics ( including Birthday Candles!!!) Expects to stay more than 2 sleeps...we wish we could have. Small note: beds are a bit soft, if that is info you need. Also: while this home comfortably can sleep six (in 3 legit bedrooms), there is one bathroom (one toilet). Just sayin'. Plenty of indoor and outdoor places to hang out, sit comfortably, eat, read, talk...even if people are sleeping in bedrooms (sometimes rare in AirBnB) Would love to get back in the Summer.

Located just two hours north of New York City, our cottage is the perfect getaway for those seeking room to breathe. A midcentury gem, built into a wooded hillside, with airy, spacious rooms.
Take in the views of the home's surrounding two acres from one of the many picture windows. Enjoy time with friends and family around the long farmhouse dining table. Cook up a meal in the spacious kitchen then watch some TV in the back den. Cozy up to the fireplace. Nap in the master bedroom (queen) or additional downstairs bedroom (full). On the second floor, find rustic wood ceilings running over a beautiful third bedroom (queen), a study, and a modern half-bath. The mossy green lawn encircles the house: a perfect spot to see wildlife during the day - bluejays, deer, chipmunks, and the occasional fox - or to take in the stars at night.
The home is located just three miles from the village of Kent - a great place to wander antique shops, peruse bookstores, or drop into a cafe for a bite. Visitors flock to the area to hike the Appalachian Trail, fish for bass on Hatch Pond, take in the fall foliage at Kent Falls, ski at Mohawk Mountain and Thunder Ridge, go canoeing, cycling, ice-skating - the list goes on - and it's all within a short walk or drive. Our home is also perfectly located for visiting parents of students at any of the many nearby schools: an easy walk to South Kent School, and a quick drive to Kent School or Marvelwood School.
  • Charming and quiet house, well appointed kitchen, and a quick drive to town. Thanks for a great stay, I hope to visit again!

  • Dawn made myself and my family feel at home at a quite stressful time during our month long wait towards our home closing. The location was perfectly close enough to keep us running smoothly and her hospitality made our stay feel welcomed and as cozy as our own home. Dawn was very communicative and the property is quite spacious and amazingly lovely. With a pool, hot tub, enormous yard and lovely, manicured grounds, there is nothing else we could have asked for. Thank you Dawn for making this transition a smooth one!!!

  • I absolutely loved my long-term, 10 week, stay with Dawn! Dawn was such an excellent host. Incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. She did above and beyond such as introducing me to the owner of the local bakery and inviting me to visit Sylvan lake. She’s takes very good care of her guests! The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. The pool, hot tub, and grounds are always well maintained. The apartment is very spacious, clean, private, and well equipped. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Cozy home nestled in a beautiful valley provides you with the perfect Hudson Valley country escape. Gorgeous stream views and loads of amenities make this rental the ideal getaway for your family and friends.
Formerly operating as dairy farm through the 1950's, the property extended across the road where the original farmhouse remains today. In the 1970's the property became the country residence of husband & wife actors Ben Gazzara and Janice Rule. After the property changed hands a few times and it was purchased in 2000 as a home of the current owners. An addition of a sun-filled living room was added. The country kitchen is stocked with dishware, appliances and a second living area has a Roku-enabled television and full-size dining table. The master bedroom offers views of the hills, stream and starry nights. A first-floor bedroom provides garden & stream views with handicap-friendly bathroom. A nature lovers paradise, the 7-acre property enjoys the benefits of being in a valley where both sun and water are abundant allowing for a diverse mix of plant and animal life. Yellow finches, wild turkey, blue heron, hummingbirds & deer are common to the backyard. An expansive backyard and field for all sorts of outdoor activities. Ample space for badminton, frisbee or a game of catch.
The house is located on a paved country road in a semi-rural environment. The 2018 film "A Quiet Place" featuring Emily Blunt and Jim Krasinski was filmed on the property down the road. The home is within walking distance to a seasonal farm stand and the Appalachian Trail. There is a separately rented cottage on the property that is occupied. There is one house across the street.
  • We had such a wonderful weekend at Adam and Mariana’s place!! They were lovely and easy to communicate with before and during! The home is so beautiful and felt so comfortable from the minute we walked in! We had everything we needed. The surroundings are so so beautiful and peaceful and just what we were wanting coming up from the city! I very much hope to visit their home again!

  • Perfect place to spend Christmas with our adult children. The house is in a beautiful country setting & was equipped with so many special touches, games, books, bath products. The kitchen is fully equipped & there is plenty of space to relax, read & gather with family. The village of Pawling & the Appalachian trail as well as Metro North train are within a few minutes.

My home is in a semi-rural setting and is close to great views, parks, hiking trails, wineries. You’ll love my place because of the views, the serenity, the ambiance and the sounds of nature. Very comfortable bed, extra blankets, private bathroom. Pets allowed @ $20/pet/night payable upon reservation (through an alteration to the reservation).
Gorgeous views of the foothills of the Berkshire mountains, a quiet little stream on the property, sliding glass doors from your guest room to the expansive lawn with two Adirondack chairs. You may see wild turkey, a fox family, deer, chipmunks and a woodchuck. Feel free to ask me for the lawn games (giant jenga, super sized connect four, tetherball, horse shoes, croquet).
The neighborhood is so quiet and the sky is so dark with amazing star viewing. Feel free to use the binoculars or telescope.
  • I stayed here for three weeks, transitioning from California to Connecticut. I loved the place, the views are perfect and it's clean, quiet and serene. Laura is a very nice and gracious host, she responded quickly to all my questions and was very helpful. Highly recommend this place.
