This is the LANDMARK western style apartment. There are lots of fun things to do in Oracle. Biking, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, a variety of dining options, the Arizona Zip Line, back road to Mt. Lemon, antique shops, sight seeing around this beautiful country, A.T.V. rentals and more. We can also host weddings and special events. Or just kick back and enjoy the serenity of small town Oracle.
  • The Landmark is a wonderful Air BnB experience. My husband and I highly recommend it to those who are planning to stay in the Oracle area. Very welcoming, comfortable, and lovely touches.

  • Carol and Carl have created a special lodging in an unusual and enjoyable small town. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which shares the second floor of a unique historical structure called the Landmark. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. It's private, quiet, and spacious. We stayed for four nights and periodically ran into Carl and Carol who were engaged in various chores around the property. Chatting with them made our stay more special as they were full of good cheer and info on the local area.

  • I can’t say enough about Carol & Carl, their beautiful, historic home & the apartment! They were so welcoming! I got to see a bit of the main home & the work they’re doing on it. The decor in the apartment is amazing & authentic. It’s like walking into the Old West. The mini bread loaves were delicious, along with the hardboiled eggs & juices provided. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, if you’re so inclined. It’s very quiet & I slept very well. Thank you so much!

Beautiful desert mountain sunsets from this studio casita. Separate from main house. About 25 minutes north of Tucson. Acreage borders state land. Refrigerator, toaster, microwave, hot plate and coffee maker plus dishware. Gas grill outside. Privacy and a real southwestern desert experience.
ideal for just 1 or 2 or 3 guests.
We live at the end of a dirt road. This road has a small section that is bumpy and does have ruts so you need to go slow. When we have a heavy rain the road can be at times impassable. Luckily we live in the desert where rain isn't a big issue. This place can be very difficult to find in the dark. It may not be the best place to book if your arriving late at night due to the bumpy dirt road and that your GPS will not be reliable. WIFI can also be unreliable. It usually works great, but cannot be guaranteed. This is because of our location and there is nothing I am able to do about it. This would not be the place for you if your in need of WIFI being reliable 100% of the time. This being said, there usually isn't a problem.
  • Great quiet spot in the desert. Would stay anytime I’m in the area

    Ryan2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute paradise. We loved every minute of our stay. Spectacular sunsets, millions of stars in the sky, and smack in the middle of one of the most beautiful stretches of desert you can ever imagine. And delicious fresh eggs from Kari's chickens. Bed was cozy as can be and the porch was perfect for morning coffee and great birding. I highly, highly recommend this place for anyone looking to explore the area, or just looking to get away from it all for a few days

  • Great host, awesome place. Very peaceful. Beautiful surroundings in nature.

    Richard2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being out in the dessert in Kari’a Casita. The surrounding area is beautiful, plus the sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking! There are three state parks in the area with outstanding hiking trails. We very much enjoyed our stay!

    Rebecca2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kari is the best host ever! The place is amazing. Everything you need is there. Make sure you have a vehicle with a little extra ground clearance.

  • This is a great location for those who want to be off the beaten path surrounded by nature. Nature walks, starry nights, gracious host. The Casita is surrounded by beautiful saguaro cactus and open desert space. We loved our stay.

  • Wonderful, quiet and tranquil place in the desert, exactly what we hoped to find. Joe and Pam were amazing hosts and allowed us to stay an additional night without any issues.

  • Beautiful place where you can park directly in front of the private door. Direct TV with local channels was a bonus!

    Rebecca2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as we expected and it worked out well. While the road is a bit rough, I thought it easy enough and added to the experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Kyle2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my time and found it to be very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. I also enjoyed walking and jogging on the dirt roads and the natural beauty and remoteness. There was rain and water on the road which must be unusual but not unheard of this season in the desert. We had a sedan and as I learned to drive in Vermont and Idaho I was not shocked by the road conditions. I observed that at least 1/3 of neighbors and others on the dirt road had regular passenger sedans but I do not recommend taking a low rider or fancy sports car on any desert dirt road. I hope this is helpful to other potential guests.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here at this Airbnb. I was staying in Tucson for the Gem show, but wanted to experience some nature as well; I also value privacy and prefer Airbnbs that are not a shared rooms in house etc. The space was cheerful with a comfortable bed, television, and a spacious hot shower with great flooring detail. Joe and Pam are lovely, approachable, and were generous to help me with recommendations and some help in working out some travel changes/ details etc. The area is quiet, scenic, has wildlife and even the occasional river.

Small Thoreau-like cabin on a working cattle ranch. We live in a quiet area not too far from Phoenix and Tucson. Wild life is all around and we're an Important Arizona Bird Area. Our place is rustic, like the real Thoreau experience! There is no bathroom! We do have an outhouse and a cold shower outside (practice your Wim Hof skills;)) Hear howling of coyotes and look around at Double Check Ranch!
It's on a working ranch, there are cows and workers! We do not have someone to specifically meet cabin guests, so it is a serve-yourself setup. We are available by phone if needed. There is a small kitchen and a BBQ.
Winkelman has a small grocery store: Giorsetti's and a Mexican restaurant: Maria's. If you want to see more of our ranch: visit us at the Farmer's Markets in Tucson and Phoenix!
  • Super! Great get away into nature. Nice green tree environment with endless desert around the corner. Clean and comfy with a quality book collection.........Paul went above and beyond to help us when we made a bonehead turn down a distant dirt road and got stuck in the mud. He sent help late in the evening and towed us out for free! Can’t beat that

    Samuel2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Thoreau-style cabin is exactly as you should expect...though Thoreau didn’t have conveniences like this little cabin has like a microwave, coffee maker and fridge. If you are looking for simple, clean and comfortable with access to the beautiful San Pedro River out your back door then don’t miss this little gem. perfect for solitude and reflection.

    Scott2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful little cabin on a cattle farm was the perfect place to unwind. Lots of seclusion and gorgeous vistas. +2 amazing puppies… I would definitely recommend this to any friends or family.

    Daniel2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • A simple small place on a quiet working Cow Farm. The cows are close and the land is beautiful. I enjoyed very much my couple of days there

    Knight2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great place if you are looking for some seclusion and get away from the city. This cabin was cozy but met our needs for lots of reading and board game playing. We loved all the wildlife spottings too

    Erin2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place to unplug, slow down and hear the sounds of nature. I spent my days just sitting outside reading my book with a bubbly on hand, and hot coco at night. It's almost like glamping because of the amenities (bed, gas grill, microwave, electric kettle) but it's still pretty rustic. Definitely worth going back to!

    Lora2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome and quiet place that really slows you down and makes you connect to nature, to the land ad to yourself again.

    Peter2017-04-13T00:00:00Z

La Casita is located on 2.3 secluded acres next to the Coronado National Forest. The comfortable vintage cottage has good light and sweeping views of the foothills and woodlands around it. A beautiful garden and sitting areas next to the house provide places to relax and enjoy the peaceful nature and many birds that live there. The hiking trailhead to Mt. Lemmon is just 5 minutes walk from the house. These features are what make your stay at La Casita so enjoyable and special.
The cottage is far from the road among the oak trees and native desert vegetation. This private environment is ideal for those who want a natural space to relax and revive in. It is excellent as a retreat or an undisturbed concentrated workspace. La Casita has the charm of a real home, it is vintage with an artistic flavor. The cottage is all about comfort with its sunny living room and beautiful views of the National Forest. There are two large tables with comfortable office chairs that make great working areas for computers with excellent WiFi. The small kitchen is very complete and set up for creating simple tasty meals. The house is LOW tech, there is a radio that receives NPR and local stations, but no TV. There are sleeping arrangements for 3 persons. The comfy double bed in the bedroom has a view of the sunrise shining on the mountain and the couch in the living room makes up into a comfortable full sized bed. A special feature of the property is the beautiful large 'Butterfly Garden' next to the house with shade trees and arid plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. This is where you will want to relax in the swing or eat your meals at the large table. At night the garden is lit with outdoor lights that create a magical inviting place to enjoy the evenings. There are several other outdoor sitting areas around the cottage with different views, that offer shade or sun depending on the time of year, day or night. Birders will be happy with the many species of birds around the bird feeders (bird food is supplied). Wildlife such as coyotes, javelinas, deer, rabbits, and bobcats come close to the house often to drink from the water station. Gorgeous sunsets can be seen from the house also at night the skies are perfect for stargazing because Oracle is in a Dark Skies Zone and the house looks out over a the dark expansive area of the National Forest from its hillside. These are just a few of the things that make La Casita so unique. Oracle is a haven for hikers, there are so many trails in the area and surroundings that offer amazing adventures and scenery. The Oracle Ridge trailhead that goes to the top of Mount Lemmon is five minutes walk from the house. It has amazing views in all directions and is definitely advised. Also, the Oracle State Park, 5 minutes by car, has wonderful trails that look out over the San Pedro Valley and the Galiuro Mountains, another great place is Catalina State Park 20 min away for spectacular lower desert scenery. Also there is the Zip Line 15 min away on the Mt. Lemmon Rd.
La Casita is located in the community of Oracle on the north sloops of the Catalina Mountains at 4800 ft. It is considered a High Desert eco system with its own unique combination of plant and animal species. Oracle is a cute little town, with many interesting and fun things to offer. There are several restaurants on American Avenue the main street. My favorites are the Patio Café for a really tasty breakfast or lunch and Rivera’s Mexican food, which has FABULOUS fish tacos on Fridays. The Oracle Inn is fun for a Friday or Saturday night, they often have live music and serve a good steak. The historic Arcadia Ranch Society is an interesting place to visit, it provides a unique view of the early frontier days of the area. If you like to explore a great vintage shop, be sure to visit The Ranch Store. They also offer on wednesday evenings the Farmer's Market with food and music, always a lot of fun. There is also the Oracle Post Office and Library. For general needs there is the Family General Store, but for food shopping the closest large grocery store and pharmacy is in Catalina about 20 min south of Oracle on the road to Tucson.
  • Beautiful, peaceful home in an outstanding location. Would definitely stay here again.

    Terrance2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Kathy! One of my favorite parts was being next to the trail head. I followed the trail up the mountain 2.6 miles till it reached a ridge where other trails joined it. Amazing and free to experience.

    Will2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I searched nearly two months to find just the right space that would provide total peace, comfort and solitude during my 30-day retreat from an otherwise frantic, busy life! From the day I arrived I began to "fall in" to La Casita. Kathy has taken great time and care to create an environment at La Casita - both inside and out - that feels literally "soul-restoring". Her site manager Chuck greeted me upon arrival, answered all of my questions, even brought by a bicycle for me to ride around town during my stay! A truly kind and generous soul. Inside I enjoyed a super comfortable bed, hot shower, and plenty of seating and working space options. And the mature landscaping outside - large lush native trees, shrubs, catuses, and rockscapes - and thoughtfully-placed statues, art pieces, and numerous comfortable seating options - truly made the outdoors as much a part of my stay as the inside! As an accomplished artist, Kathy's talents appear in every detail of La Casita, with its soft desert tones, eclectic worldly decor, and a casual, understated peaceful flow throughout the cottage. Large picture windows let in full light and full views of the high desert scenery and Coronado National Forest, which as her listing mentions is literally a five-minute walk from the driveway to an excellent trail head where I hiked twice a week! And before I forget, among the most memorable, "soul-restoring" elements of La Casita, without question, are the birds! Abundant hummingbirds, quail, jaybirds, cactus wren, finch, and cardinal, were my daily companions and have made La Casita their home! I also had occasional visits from a family of javelina, one coyote and a rare visit from a peregrine falcon, who perched for one morning on the porch! If you are one or two people in search of the most peaceful, private escape to UNPLUG (no TV but has excellent internet access) - La Casita is your answer and I can't recommend highly enough!

    Trisha2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita is in a wonderful private location. Kitchen is small, but serviceable. Many places to sit around the house. Very quiet and peaceful! We wish we could have stayed longer. Be sure to get groceries before you come! Nearest big grocery store is about 20 miles away.

    Abby2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is our favorite destination for a weekend escape from Tucson. It's typically about 10 degrees cooler, and the house offers a beautiful outdoor space with shaded seating under oaks, and you'll often see quail pecking under the manzanita. If you come during the colder months the sunroom has a beautiful view to the south and lots of cozy seating to choose from. This is a great choice for some peace and quiet - open the windows and enjoy the sounds of birds and crickets.

    David2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Charming space inside and out. Close to a trail head. Very natural setting with great light

    Robert2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • La Casita is everything I hoped for. Quiet, comfortable, surrounded by nature with birds, deer, javelina, and coyotes. There are many outdoor seating areas - in the shade of beautiful oak trees - to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views. Kathy's home is very clean and tidy, with lots of natural light from windows to observe birds. There is an efficient and complete kitchen, and a great shower/tub in the bathroom. I can't wait to return.

    Marlena2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s La Casita was everything we hoped for and more! The home itself is a perfect sized space, with the most amazing view. We truly felt surrounded by nature, and we loved watching the birds feed in the morning. Trails to hike were a quick walk up the street as well! Kathy was an excellent host from beginning to end, making sure we had everything we needed and communicating every step of the way. We genuinely loved our stay and highly suggest staying at La Casita to see for yourself!

Come and stay in an authentic Bunkhouse on a historic working cattle ranch! The home overlooks the beautiful Gila River and is nestled in some of the most amazing saguaro studded mountains. This home is located near the Arizona Trail head, and some incredible outdoor sports like kayaking, rock climbing, horseback riding, ATV riding and mountain biking. The A Diamond Ranch is just a short drive away from Kearny and Superior where you can visit local restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.
This home is beautifully decorated with art and furniture hand crafted just for this unique space. The Bunkhouse consists of 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, laundry room and a kitchen/living room area. There is a large outdoor space with tables for dinner, entertaining or simply to watch the river and drink coffee. There are several closets and storage areas for long term guests.
This Bunkhouse is part of a historical cattle ranch. Guests will often see the rancher working horses and cattle. Also located on the property is the owner's home and the main house that is also for rent through another rental company.
  • Such a lovely, relaxing place to stay! Amenities were just as described!

    Stephanie2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Bunkhouse is a great place to get away and disconnect from the hustle of life. Megan does a great job of providing a clean and relaxing space to enjoy. Enjoyed seeing the horses and dogs each day. It took me back to being on a farm as a kid. There was plenty of space and trails to walk around and enjoy the nature of the desert landscape. I look forward to coming out again.

  • This was our third stay and certainly won't be our last. It is our perfect place to unwind. We even got to check out a roundup this time. All the details are taken care of so all you have to do is kick back and enjoy

    Joanne2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouses was a great place to stay, my husband and I stayed 3 nights, it's was so clean and comfortable, Loved having the horses stopping by in the morning while we sat outside having coffee, it was a great get away for both of us, Will be back

    Sandy2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at A Diamond Ranch was amazing! We were enchanted by its rustic charm, refreshed by the peace and quiet, and delighted by the friendly horses. The guest house was quaint and beautiful. We especially loved the clawfoot tub, the high quality appliances, and the comfortable bed. This is a great place to escape from the bustling city stress and hit the reset button. We are already planning our next visit!

    Lindsay2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice touches and comfortable.

    Reagan2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkhouse is a ways out there. You pass a large open pit copper mine if you are coming from Superior, AZ. That has a visitors view point. After the turn onto the road that takes you to the bunkhouse the pavement ends and the dirt road begins on the way to the location. The dirt road is washboarded in some places, but I don’t mind since I drive on lots of dirt roads. The bunkhouse is located in a peaceful location where you can hear the Gila River flowing. There are short hiking trails on the property marked with a hiker and arrow. I explored with my two corgis who loved the area. They weren’t sure about the horse and mule who liked to come visit. There were 4 ranch dogs that I met. I liked that they guarded the property. The night skies were beautiful. The bunkhouse is perfect for a single traveler like me. I loved the look of the inside with a tall very comfy king sized bed and a claw foot tub. The porch was nice to hang out on with a picnic table. There is also a laundry room except the washer stopped working before I arrived. I was sad, but I understand since my own died before coming south from Citrus Heights, CA. Overall, I really loved this place and would recommend it to anyone especially those who love to get away from it all.

    Tina2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We thouroughly enjoyed staying at the Bunkhouse guest quarters at A Diamond Ranch, Kearny AZ. The Bunkhouse portrays a rustic and cozy style. The sound of the Gila River flowing near by, along with horses, cow dogs and barn cats (located in the barn down the way from the Bunkhouse), allows any guest to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life but still enjoy the amenities and luxuries of daily living. Megan is a great hostess, is very accommodating and is easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this clean, well taken care of get away.

Enjoy a special time to remember in beautiful Oracle, Arizona at what locals call the LANDMARK. It became known as the Landmark when passengers arrived at the stage stop across the way, our home was the first thing they saw. It is over one hundred years old and the apartment offered has been titled the Victorian, we have furnished it in Victorian style. Two bedrooms, one bath, living room with T.V., full kitchen, dining room, laundry, large patio with fire pit and horse coral and more.
The LANDMARK is a full apartment with full kitchen, full bath, two bedrooms (one bedroom with queen bed and the other with a full bed) dining room, living room, laundry room, restaurants close by and lots of outdoor activities just minutes away.
  • Carl and Carol are amazing hosts. They go way above and beyond what is expected. The amenities were great as well as the beautiful clean accommodations. Don’t pass on staying here. You certainly won’t regret it

  • This is a wonderful place to relax in complete comfort. The towels were the fluffiest I gave ever seen and fresh baked bread was available for breakfast each day. It is very spacious. We were a party of three but it would be perfect for two couples with plenty of privacy yet plenty of fathering space.

Charming home in secluded area. The lush surroundings leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. Large oak trees come right up to the top level porch and create a tree house feeling. Minutes away from BioSphere, hiking, Oracle zip line adventure, tasty restaurants, and a dedicated dark sky park! This home has so much charm and the pictures don't do it justice!
    No smoking inside house.
Home is located within a quiet neighborhood. Park, restaurants, hiking, and dark sky park , BioSphere all within minutes. We only have one TV in the downstairs bedroom. There is a DVD player with a few movies, but we do not provide cable.

  • We loved our stay at this super house. It met each of our five people's different needs just fine. The house was much larger than we anticipated with lots of privacy after a long day of visiting family in the area. Kristina's thoughtfulness was apparent in all the special touches. Her communication was top notch as well! It was ready to go and everything was explained clearly at the house. There was plenty of extra bedding, a wonderful, beautiful kitchen and everything we needed was right there. Would stay here again without a doubt. The area has so much to offer. Hope we go that way again!

This quiet little oasis is 23 miles from downtown Tucson, 32 miles from the Tucson Airport and features beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains. It has all the amenities of a tiny house. Also featured is a spacious picnic and barbecue area.
This Tiny House has a gorgeous view of the Catalina Mountains. It is easily accessible about one hour drive from the Tucson airport. Out door activities range from quiet R and R to hiking, mountain biking or road cycling. The kitchen is stocked with the basic cooking items along with essential condiments including coffee, tea and first mornings light breakfast foods. Bedding and towels are included.
The neighborhood is quiet, some distance from the busy road, with the sounds of wildlife including a variety of desert birds, coyotes and the occasional spade foot toad if its monsoon season. Relaxing in the hammock during sunset offers majestic pink glows on the mountains. Walking, Bicycling or Jogging are easy activities right out the door.
  • Lynn's place was a fantastic night away. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. We also really enjoyed the use of the fire pit and the friendly company of her dog :)

    Amanda2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place and property. Great stay. Just like camping! Lynn and Yampa the dog are awesome.

    Christopher2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in the Catalina Casita. This time, it was early March, so flowers were just beginning to bloom and the desert was turning green. Hiking in both Catalina and Oracle State Park is excellent and the casita a wonderful, comfortable place to stay. There's an endless dance of birds at the bird feeder while you sip your afternoon tea at the outdoor table and an abundance of friendly bunnies.

    Forest2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn has a peaceful spot, well maintained vintage RV, fully stocked utensils and necessities for your stay, and great instructions. I only stayed one night, but this would be a great place to enjoy longer. I have no complaints. Enjoyed it!

    Brian2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host, very clean and REALLY cute dog. :)

    Kara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best spots in Arizona to watch the sunset and the desert come alive. Very nice and welcoming hosts, especially their sweet dog, Yampa! If you need a getaway from the city, this is the place to go🥰

    Lorena2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn's place is perfect for that 'camper in you' style stay. Felt like we were staying in the wilderness, but just 10 min from the grocery store, restaurants and off road activities. Great value for money, yet stylish and eclectic surroundings. Would stay there again!

    Kathleen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A perch among perches! First, I was surprised to find a modest, hilly outcropping amid the sprawl that has become so familiar as I travel around the Arizona burbs. Then, I was tickled to perceive that the Catalina Casita, which I approached up small slope of a driveway, puts you at eye level with the tops of the surrounding cactus. It’s an eye-to-bird’s eye view! The birds are plentiful, diverse and busy - a playful whirl of activity, rounding out and winding down with the owls at night. The camper was plenty cozy while it rocked with a storm that dropped snow on the nearby mountaintops, warmed by thoughful appointments that I suspect are accumulations of past explorations from when this rig was still in motion. Now parked, but somehow still participating, this perch is a perfect place to find new perspectives.

Charming adobe casita in Aravaipa Canyon with a relaxing stone fireplace, cozy queen bed, and eclectic treasures at every turn. Known as a hiking and bird watching paradise, the beautiful Aravaipa Creek and abundant canyon wildlife encourage exploration, creation, and relaxation. Bring your camera, paint, sketch book, and journal. Life is sweet across the creek. Approximately 5 miles from the noted hiking trail in the creek, on the west side,(hiking permit is needed from the BLM)
My home is also made out of Adobe filled with art. I'm constantly planting around my home; surrounded by lemon trees, orange trees, herbal plants, Rose bushes, geraniums and much much more.
Being one with nature is peaceful and fulfilling. Catching the stars at night along a fire with a good drill is heaven on Earth. Being able to hear the creek and birds is music to our ears.
  • Carol was friendly and helpful with reservation and check-in. Lazaro and Victoria were very helpful, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay while we were there! A++ hosts! They recommended some great places in town to eat (which was great since we didn't pack adequate groceries) and even came up to jump our truck when the battery died while we were up the canyon 😬 The animals in the farm were friendly and so fun to watch. Hiking around the farm was definitely a highlight as well. We had purchased a permit to hike the canyon (but at the wrong trailhead) so spent the afternoon hiking around the canyon alongside the creek on the property. Wonderful, secluded, peaceful. It was a great and quiet way to spend our Anniversary weekend!

    Ashlee2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rural life is its own kind of charm. Our bed was wonderful, linens fresh, firewood piled as high as an elephants eye. Our adobe casita was chock full of paintings, handcrafted pottery and other artifacts evidence of a host with an artistic bent. Bring food and be sure you can cook things up in one pot. There is not a conventional stove and oven but there is enough to make do and then some. The road is dirt but very smooth all the way out to Aravaipa Canyon trailhead. Be sure to remember to pull a hiking permit. This is a rural rental and comes with solitude, quiet, birds and stars. I would have been crushed and the experience would not have been so positive had there been too much refinement, too much attention to making things too slick. Our week out on the road was spent two days visiting the canyon and staying with Carol. Best two days of our trip. Be sure to bring all the provisions you’ll need. Leaving is to break the magical spell and lose contact with this other magical rural world.

    Eileen And Dana2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s casita is a hidden gem, we absolutely love staying here! Carol is a wonderful hostess who makes you feel at home while you’re there. The casita is stunning and so are the surrounding grounds. I said this last time and I’ll say it again, the only bad part about our stay is having to leave. Can’t wait to go back for another visit!

    Steph2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • For a visit to a very special area near a well-known wilderness, Carol's cabin is the best. Furnished with style and comfort in mind, her cabin rated very high with us. Birding in the area attracted us, the pleasure in being there will take us back for a return visit.

    Stephen2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The only bad part about my stay was having to leave to go home today, I absolutely loved Carol’s casita and wished we could of stayed longer. So glad we got to ring in the new year watching it snow outside while staying warm inside this beautiful little gem. I look forward to staying here again.

    Steph2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room at Carol’s is magical. The eclectic and colorful authentic attention to detail will surround you in a comfortable studio apartment. Enjoy the chickens and the rooster cock a doodledooing. I slept great in the big comfy bed. Carol is a wonderful amazing woman and she is a gracious down to Earth host. The surrounding.Beauty and serenity are what you come here for. Hike along the year round aravaipa creek. This is an amazing find.

This quiet desert getaway is perfect for outdoor lovers. Located 23 miles from downtown Tucson, it features a beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains and proximity to miles of world-class mountain bike and hiking trails, and renown bird-watching areas. Located in a semi-rural spot just off of Oracle road (the main artery between Tucson and Catalina), it has plenty of shopping and restaurants within easy driving distances.
This guest suite is one-half of a duplex-type house with its own private, separate entrances. There are two bedrooms, each with its own entrance to a large covered outdoor deck with a view of the Catalina mountain range. The kitchenette has its own entrance, a small refrigerator, convection oven, hot-plate, coffee maker, electric kettle, and washer/dryer unit. It is stocked with basic cooking gear, coffee, tea, and spices.
Our street dead ends about a half a mile from us, so it’s fairly quiet. Homes in the neighborhood are on 1-to-2-acre parcels and several neighbors keep chickens, horses, and goats. You’ll often see neighbors walking with or without dogs in the early mornings and evenings, so please respect the 5-10 miles per hour speed limit on the dirt road. We have an arroyo that bisects the property and serves as a thoroughfare for the local wildlife: coyotes, javelinas (peccaries, or wild pigs), bobcats, and raccoons. We have a strict policy of not feeding anything but birds, so please take care not to attract wild mammals by leaving food out, and enjoy all wildlife from a safe distance.
  • This is a delightful little spot! Pleasant and peaceful with fun decor and nice touches throughout. We enjoyed being tucked away in the desert, and watching the birds in the feeders around the house and off the back deck. The location is great for hiking in the nearby Santa Catalina mountains or visits into Tucson. Murphy and Jim were lovely to work with and we really enjoyed our stay! Catalina Craft Pizza which is right in the neighborhood is highly recommended for a fun place for dinner and music.

    Christine2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Murphy and her husband Jim are so personable and provide such a inviting space. Great amenities and gorgeous Mountain views from the back deck. Murphy always responded to all my questions within an hour and was so kind helping to orient us to getting settled. Their hospitality and special touches of home are the reason why I choose AirBNBs over chain hotels.

    Mary Ann2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Murphy and Jim are very attentive hosts. The home is comfortable, clean, very well equipped, and we enjoyed the backyard life. Even got to see a hummingbird!

  • I had a very peaceful stay in this environmentally conscious and beautifully appointed airbnb, showcasing the Arizona high desert at its finest.

  • Great little place, very comfortable and nice host. Thanks!

    Ryan2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean, clean, clean and the hosts are lovely helpful people. I really enjoyed walking around their yard and looking at all the beautiful plants and landscaping. They had great recommendations for local food. If I were returning to the Tucson area I would not hesitate to re-book the B&B.

    Sharon2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent three nights at Murphy's place while we were exploring the area for a home to buy. This was at a time when the temperatures exceeded a 100 degrees every day. I missed the fact this unit did not have air conditioning but was cooled with a water evaporator or aka: "swamp cooler". This system cooled the entire unit equally as good, if not better, than an air conditioning unit. Murphy has thought of everything from having chocolate treats and all sorts of tasty teas and coffee and a pitcher of cold water in the frig. Even the bathroom is stock with little extra soaps and toiletries that you may have forgotten to pack. This is a place I will come back to. It is very quiet both during the day and night. While here we saw a lot of rabbits and all sorts of birds and even a few lizards of some kind.

The Cabin is a stand-alone building adjacent to the Main Ranch House. Historically was the home to a ranch hand in the cattle rustling days. Original artwork and artifacts fill the space and create a cozy, unpretentious vibe. You'll feel right at home in here. There's a large, sun-filled bathroom with a shower basin fashioned from an old water trough. All the features of the room are custom built with intriguing detail.
  • Incredible magical place! A must stay! The sculpture garden is amazing. Quiet and perfect for a vacation.

  • Sharon’s place was wonderful. Just what we needed and secluded from everything. There is a great eclectic sculpture garden that was entertaining. Sharon also cooked a lovely, unexpected, breakfast for guests. Would definitely stay again!

  • This is an absolutely wonderful ranch stay. And Sharon our hostess was the best. She saved us by accepting our request for one night on the same afternoon as our stay. The cabin was a true cowboy cabin, we loved it!

    Mary2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a fabulous host! We loved every minute at the ranch, starting with the home cooked breakfasts and conversations with her and guests at the long kitchen table. Our cozy cabin was clean and had everything we needed. And the walking night time GLOW show of art work was one of a kind and AMAZING!!! Our stay far exceeded our expectations and we would LOVE to return. You will not regret a stay at the ranch because it’s one of a kind, and full of beauty and joy! ✨✨✨

  • Sharon's place is incredibly unique! She was a great host, communicated quickly, and got me in smoothly even though I booked around 5pm the night of. Thanks Sharon!

    Zak2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host and such a unique property! I booked a small guest house for my husband and I for a quick one night stay. Sharon immediately upgraded us to the larger suite for no extra cost, which was such a great surprise! We got a quick tour of the grounds and surrounding sculpture garden, cool to see during the day but even cooler at night! Sharon turned on all the lights for us to explore in the evening, having it all to ourselves which was a great treat. In the morning we had an incredible egg and sausage breakfast made by Sharon, with fresh ingredients from her garden! Our stay was so short but much more than we were expecting and we are hoping to make it back in the Fall when there are more events on the property. 10/10 :)

Ideal for couples or families and friends wanting to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this beautiful home can accommodate up to 10 people, but it is also very cozy for individuals or couples who want a quiet retreat. It has 3 double bedrooms (one king, one queen and one full) with ensuites + sofa beds for 4 people + a crib. Oracle is a convenient location for people to stay if they need to be close to Biosphere 2 or the two SaddleBrooke active adult communities.
Tasteful interiors, sweeping desert and mountain vistas, memorable sunsets and the changing colors of the day, as well as starry night skies, make just being there a pleasure. The many living areas and well distributed spaces make it cozy for small groups but also very suitable for large groups. It is great for family gatherings and reunions of friends because of the large expandable dining room table, which makes it also good for celebrating special occasions. Rates are for up to 4 people staying > for large groups inquire. It is a real home away from home with a good selection of books, DVDs and internet access. There are two living rooms and two TVs which can be useful if children are part of your party. As far as TV channels go we use DIRECTV and, if you do not want to miss your favorite game, you might like to know that we subscribe to the Sports channel, too. Artists, academics and nature lovers find it a beautiful and peaceful place to work in and relax. The moderate elevation (4,800 feet) avoids extremes of temperature all year round: summers are never too hot and winters are never really cold.
Casa Linda is located in a small community called Oracle, on the north slopes of the Santa Catalina mountains, not far from Saddlebrooke and very close to Biosphere II. Visitors will find interesting wildlife and birdwatching opportunities on the 3 acres of land that belong to 'Casa Linda' as well as the whole area that surrounds this beautiful place. The home also offers good access to numerous trails in wilderness settings which are ideal for hiking and mountain biking. One of these trails can be reached on foot directly from our backyard. There are interesting local shops and restaurants nearby as well as a post office and library. Oracle is well known for its art festivals and thriving art community.
  • Casa Linda is a beautiful home nestled in Oaks with sweeping views and privacy. The house is spacious, filled with light, and decorated with art of the local area. Big enough for families and extended parties, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

  • Casa Linda is a spacious home in a lovely setting, located conveniently close to the sights, sounds, and flavors of Oracle. All of the conveniences of home are at hand, making for a comfortable stay that feels like home. It was a treat to have a separate bathroom for each bedroom, and we enjoyed the outside areas as well as the lovely views from inside. Highly recommended ... wonderful for a group!

    Shell2019-07-17T00:00:00Z

    Matan2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, spacious home with tons of picturesque windows letting in natural light, views of mountains, wildlife, and incredible bird watching. Super clean, quite, and all the amenities for getting ready for a wedding weekend!! Great little cafe in town, though not much else. Would recommend bringing food in to cook in big kitchen. Bonus, the complete darkness at night in this community allowed for epic star gazing!!

    Shelby2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just like in the pictures only better. We loved being able to see Four Peaks 85 miles away to the Northwest. There was a red headed hummingbird who spent his day guarding the feeder from other hummingbirds. Saw a Cardinal in the front yard and a parade of quail in the back yard. There are neighbors but we never knew it because they are over the hill. The house was clean and had directions posted where needed. Could not rate it better. We had a great time. Thanks Paola and Cathy

    Scott2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paola’s place was perfect for a staycation from Tucson with friends. The caretaker Nancy was incredibly welcoming. She left us with an entire book of possible outings but we like the place so much we didn’t want to leave. The house is incredibly spacious with a large great room, adjoining sun room, and three bedrooms located in opposite corners of the house. Myself and another guest had some work to do and had no problems finding quiet corners to do so. Most of our stay was spent playing board games on the porch, wining/dining by candlelight, or watching Stranger Things 2 (in honor of Halloween weekend) by the fire. We always bring some basic spices/oil (everyone in my group loves to cook) but that turned out to be completely unnecessary in this case as the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We can’t wait to come back.

  • We were visiting the area on business. We found the accommodation spacious and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. There was a good selection of DVDs to watch too. We struggled a bit with the wifi despite resetting the routers as instructed and we found the interior very dark during the day. Our host was very thoughtful - we were there on Halloween and came home to a jack o lantern in the garden and a delicious gift of cake left out for us too! Overall the accommodation was spacious and private and even though the hosts lived in the neighbouring house we were left to our own devices which suited us perfectly. Any quesiton I had was answered very quickly. Thank you Laura

When you go in the master bedroom you find a wonderfully comfortable queen bed covered in a beautiful quilt. Pull back the quilt and you find RealTree sheets! Black-out panels on the patio doors kept it nice and dark for sleeping in. Plenty of kitchen items to do whatever you need to do in there. We even had some muffins, homemade jelly, butter and fresh eggs - from her hens - left for us! It was like staying a your Aunt's house! There were lots of things to read about the area (past history and current info) and movies if you get bored. Laura's husband, Ron, has awesome knowledge of hunting in the area and pointed my husband in the right direction for his upcoming deer hunt. Thanks Laura and Ron! We will be back soon!

  • Expect a great host and wonderful experience, very nice place to stay and very clean and comfortable

    Kevin2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • I came here with 4 other adults and this place was more than comfortable! It was very clean and spacious. It's in a very nice quiet area. There is a new grill to use outside in a patio area. My whole group had a blast. We went hunting while there and used Ron's services. My group was inexperienced and Ron walked us carefully through the steps. What a great experience. We plan to come back again after summer and we'll definitely be staying here. Thank you for all extra things you did.

  • My husband and I got a rare night away from our young kiddos, and our stay at the ranch did not disappoint. Laura gave us a room upgrade (although our original room was equally nice, just a tad smaller), and she showed us outstanding hospitality. Don’t hesitate to stay at this ranch. It’s beautiful and peaceful. Also 10 degrees cooler in Oracle than in Tucson — perfect “staycation” spot. We will be back!

This yurt is situated on the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Catalina Mountains. The space is the 24 ft yurt AND the RV Casita. Both dwellings have heat and chilly AC . The full bathroom is in the RV as is the full kitchen. The Yurt has open living space including a kitchen but no bathroom. This is why the whole space is rented if the yurt is to be included. Otherwise the RV can be rented by itself. Abundant Star gazing, birds and laid back atmosphere is what you will find here.
Catalina is a small town located 20 miles north of Tucson. It is also 10 miles from the Catalina State Park which offers wonderful hiking trails and other events such as outdoor music, desert animal exhibits, and telescope star gazing. This area is also haven to bike riders (road or off road). Restaurants, shopping centers, and movie theaters are 10 minutes away. The airbnb is situated on 2 acres. Neighbors own goats and chickens and sheep and donkeys and when mixed in with a wide variety of birds and howling coyotes it makes for a wonderful concert. Star gazing is superb. Biosphere 2 is just up the road as well as the unique artist town of Oracle. GLOW happens in September and October if you love a night time glowing art party in Oracle at the Triangle L Ranch. Come stay in a yurt or a sweet RV and experience glamping at its best.
  • Terrific fun stay in the yurt and RV. We loved having a fire and watching the sunset and the moon rise. We would live to come back again.

    Caroline2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you've never stayed in a yurt before, I highly recommend it! The outdoor space was lovely and Lynn went above and beyond to make sure we had firewood and lighting. A perfect escape from the city!

    Sierra2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the yurt! Lynn has a wonderful and stunning space in the desert with numerous places to sit, relax, and take in the beauty of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Birds, coyotes, rabbits, mountainous desert landscapes, and quiet solitude. We're coming back!

    Joshua2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous airbnb with beautiful views!! So much attention put into every little detail. Lynn was a great host and did a great job communicating with us!

    Sarah2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fun place with lots of little touches. Would be great for a family trip, something different. Listening to the birds was fun

  • Good location and a unique experience for a night out of town.

    Jacob2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • There should be more AirBnB’s like Lynn’s! We had the most wonderful retreat with our two girls, and can’t wait to go back. Our favorite part? Eating supper outside as the moon rose over the Catalina peaks, then sitting by the fire as darkness fell and my daughter played the guitar (that she found in the yurt), leading us all in song late into the night. Such a gift to have the time, space, and encouragement to be together, and a blessing to leave bigger than when we arrived.

    Megan2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn place was a great desert getaway. She has great hospitality, communication, and willingness to serve her guests. Her place has all kinds of things to do and isn’t too far away from Tucson. The view is priceless and the Yurt is very quaint. Highly recommend!

  • This is our second time staying at the ranch and we loved it. The 1 room cottage has nice bathroom with a claw foot tub. The main room has a very comfortable queen size bed and there is a 3 season room with screen windows with 2 twin beds. There is also a convenient little pantry with a coffe pot, filter water dispenser and a mini fridge. It is in a great location outside Tucson. Everything from the Southwest-influenced design, to the delicious fresh pear compote and cheese & crackers waiting for us in the fridge, this room was exceptional. Aravaipa canyon is a hiker's paradise and Aravaipa Farms is the perfect place to relax after a long hike. The three-course dinner was to die for, which included freshly baked bread and herb butter. It's the most serene neighborhood I've ever lived in. People are quiet, the sky has a "wide open" character and appears VAST under a full moon! A person can get back to themselves out here. For those from Arizona: It's like Bisbee, before it got over-populated. The potential for growth here in San Manuel is enormous, but it retains it's country charm.

    Debbie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I was working nearby, so this was an INCREDIBLE location at a fabulous price. Tom had a local meet me to give me the key and orient me to the place. Stayed 3 weeks, loved sitting on the back patio watching the birds. We cooked in the well stocked kitchen, walked the safe neighborhood. Neighbors were friendly and chatted with us often. Enjoyed waking up with the huge glass door in the master bedroom seeing a gorgeous Tucson morning. Beautiful landscaping, clean, extremely well maintained house. Appreciated the sky lights in the bathrooms and closet. (Tried turning off the lights more often than I care to admit!) LOL Used the washer/dryer and dishwasher. Overall, it was a fabulous experience. Only VERY minor thing I will mention, is that there is only one TV. Made no difference to me, but a co worker who stayed really likes a TV in her bedroom. The living room had a huge smart TV and the couches were very comfortable to lay on and watch until bed time. I plan to come back and stay again when I'm in the area! Thanks again Tom

There is one queen bed available in this space- very comfortable new queen mattress. Cable, WiFi, privacy, enclosed yard/doggy door, kitchen- microwave, griddle, George Foreman grill, toaster, coffee maker, fridge.
Best perks include- fully enclosed yard for any pet, doggy door, DirectTV (record your favorite shows), WiFi, please inquire about washer and dryer- in process of getting these. Laundromat very close. Our place is a clean, comfortable, and cozy Fifth Wheel Trailer. Although it is an older model, we tried to update the living space a few years ago by putting new tile on the floors, adding wood flooring to bedroom area, drywall to living room area, staining cabinets, replacing original toilet (still has a “trailer” toilet, but new), and added tile to bathroom sink area. We’ve had issues with cracking grout lines between tiles, we were disappointed that grout didn’t not hold up to test of time and a few moves- unfortunately, we used regular grout, not designed for mobile floors, end result- doesn’t look as good as it did. Trailer is sitting in the far corner of our 1 /2 acre lot/residence, with its own little fenced yard, door has built-in doggy door for any pets. We recently added a newer manufactured home to land, which is currently vacant. The far end sits along east side of trailers yard. When we are moved in, any facing windows e My husband, our son and I live in the smaller manufactured home farthest from trailer. It survived a fire that burned down our once beautiful patio, but thats a priority that’s being placed somewhat last- after our work of getting moved into the newer home. I would rather be clear about what is going on and our approx timelines here, rather than try to explain in person. Our final work mostly is what I call “quiet work” (texturing walls, putting in kitchen sink, etc, etc, etc), so don’t worry, no one’ll have to listen to “loud work” (tile grinding!) part of this setting up. Unless suggested otherwise, we leave the key in the lock of the trailer door around expected arrival time. We do appreciate knowing when you expect to arrive so we can set temperature and turn on water heater. Extra blankets and pillows are available, by request. In cold weather, space heater works great (additional heaters also available, by request please) and on hot days, we have two very good air conditioning units to cool it off quickly. We prefer our guests to only use the air conditioner in the window- and the one on the roof as needed. It blasts a lot of cool air and does the trick, but also wastes a lot of energy, so we just ask that it not be left on for long periods of time- unless you, using your own discretion. In the kitchen, there is hot water as long as it’s been turned on a while. The kitchen oven does not work, but we have 2 portable/convection ovens you can use to cook, just ask. There is a microwave, large griddle/skillet, toaster, coffee maker, and George Foreman grill. The 2 convection ovens are in storage building next door, just bring it in or ask us to get it (one is very big, fits a large turkey; the other is standard size.) Kitchen also has a small fridge, with little freezer that fits ice tray. The shower is not the newest, as seen in pictures. In order to take a hot shower, hot water heater switch must be turned on at least 20 min- an hour or more (switch located near corner of wall above ottoman, below shelves- can see it when entering in through front door)It’s an older trailer, hot water capacity only allows for at least a ten minute shower, longer if used sparingly. I recommend leaving hot water heater on most of time, if you like having hot water a lot. We have a BBQ- but it looks like something you might use camping. Circular style BBQ w/ashes that empty into a can, uses charcoal, but it does the trick- just please ask and we’ll bring over the charcoal, lighting fluid, etc. We are located in the small town of "Catalina" (but still considered Tucson), we are just off of Oracle Highway- not too far from the beautiful, majestic views of the Catalina mountains and Catalina State Park. Being at a slightly higher elevation, lower temperatures are unique to our area, and there are many popular hiking trails as well. Up the road is the town of Oracle, which is known as the gateway community for both the Arizona National Scenic Trail and Oracle State Park. For longer stays, there is a laundromat less than a half mile away. There is also a nearby grocery store, and large shopping center that includes a Walmart, Regency Movie Theaters, PetSmart, Best Buy, DSL, ULTA, etc (too many stores to list). We are about a half hours drive from downtown Tucson. JerryBobs right across the street, as well as many other locally owned restaurants. We welcome and love meeting all the different new people who stay here. We especially love when they are happy with their stay- which is why I do not want anyone to misunderstand or not realize that our trailer rental is not for the renter who treasures and values modern comforts and luxurious details. We do our best to make it as comfortable and clean as possible. But if you don’t mind living in a smaller space, possibly hearing the neighbors chickens crow in the morning, and foregoing the cemented sidewalks and driveways built-in to all the surrounding tract neighborhoods- then we would love to hear from you. I like to think we offer the best place for the lowest rate, but we are also willing to work with some renters request for a deal or discount- especially for longer stays, every offer is considered. We have some pet cats and there are different neighborhood stray cats that I see pass through our yard. Most of all, we like to stay out of your business as much as possible, but will always be available to answer any questions or help when asked. We ask please no large breed pit bulll type dogs, or other dogs known to bite (chow chows, boxers, dobermans, mastiffs, etc). We just learned our lesson, and with a small child around, better safe than sorry.
We are very close to the neighborhood pool, this neighborhood looks like it has been here for a while- mostly mobile and manufactured homes, some more modern than others- while not the most beautiful neighborhood in the world, it is very safe here, crime not being an issue.

  • Easy to find, and commute from, at very north end of Tucson. Rooster next door, and Christmas lights are neat accouterments! Nicer and so much easier than driving our antique motor home. Look forward to future visit.

  • They were both friendly and knowledge. It felt peaceful and slow paced, simply relaxing.

  • WOW is hosted by a lovely and kind couple. They have extensive knowledge about the landscape and wildlife around their home, and they are clearly passionate about the animals that share their land. We were lucky enough to see many species in our short time there. They have a beautiful deck for relaxing and watching the hummingbirds, and the hiking from their property was beautiful. I can only imaging how incredible it must be in the spring! CJ also makes the BEST berry muffins on the planet. If you are a hiker/cyclist, I would stay at least 2 nights to explore to trails. If you have T-Mobile, plan on contacting the hosts a few minutes before you arrive. No T-Mobile signal at their house (they have WiFi).

  • What an oasis! We felt fortunate to have found this eden just north of metropolitan Tucson. Christopher and his wife went above and beyond from their welcoming and gracious introduction to their home to the thoughtful and DELICIOUS breakfast items they had for us. Warm home made muffins, home made yogurt, fruit, a smorgasbord of cereals, coffee & tea. An absolute treat! Our room was clean and relaxing with the soft, soothing sound of the fountain just outaide to lull us to sleep in the perfect bed! The property was bursting with animal life and Christopher was so kind in sharing this magical space with us. We saw so many different birds, a Bobcat that strolled by the indoor viewing area, Harris's hawks, squirrels and gophers and the entire time he shared his wealth of knowledge on each creature as they revealed themselves to us during the tour of the property. Absolutely extraordinary! Disappointed we only booked for one night. This experience and the exemplary stewards of the sanctuary have gifted us with one of the best highlights of our trip to Arizona. We will definitely be back!

  • This is truly an amazing experience. "WOWArizona" does not actually do it justice. Depending on your arrival time, you will either immediately see just how amazing it is, or you will understand what 'dark sky' is all about. In both cases you will not be disappointed. Christopher, who you will end up calling CJ and Mary Ellen, who you will call, well, Mary Ellen, are truly great hosts. The morning breakfast is highlighted by homemade muffins of a new variety each day, but be sure to sample the homemade yogurt and ask for some chocolate for your coffee (or just straight off the spoon). Activity at WOW starts early - the early bird here really does get the worm, or whatever CJ is offering up to the incredible menagerie of bird life gathering just outside the doors. Birds from the smallest hummingbird to the speedy Roadrunner to the family of Harris's Hawks are all on display and enjoy the same great hospitality as the humans. All topped off by a visit from the local Javelina tribe - yeah a little stinky maybe, but very cute and all part of the local experience. Enjoy the breakfast and the 'bird TV' and then head out onto the trails. Whether hiking or biking, the trails and the views are breathtaking. Follow the advice you're given and you will have a most memorable experience. Pretend you know better, and you could have a much different memorable experience - heed your hosts, they are there to ensure you have the best stay ever. I can't say enough about our time in Tucson, the hosts here are incredibly welcoming and kind, great conversation, and offer a wealth of local knowledge. We will definitely be returning.

  • Beautiful location! A bird watchers dream! The hosts were so thoughtful and attentive. They feed us a beautiful homemade breakfast with coffees and teas to suite all of our liking! We highly recommend this host. It was a total pleasure.

  • Beautiful setting, gracious hosts, and TONS of animals everywhere. First day we saw a roadrunner and a coyote, and of course Saguaro cacti to complete the scene. Mary Ellen treated us to a nice long guided hike into the Catalina mountains which are literally right out the back door. A great place to enjoy nature and good company.

  • This is a beautiful sanctuary full of local plant and animal life. You are treated more like family than a guest. Sip tea while watching wildlife chatter around you or cozy up next to the outdoor fireplace under the undeterred stars. Wake up to a colorful dish of fruits and homemade tasty treats and follow it with a quiet walk to a small secluded pond. This gem of a place will steal your heart!

Peaceful, comfortable home with beautiful views of the Catalina mountains from the back patio. Located in the center of the private adult community of Saddlebrooke. Guests have a private bedroom and bathroom, and share the common areas with me. I am very flexible and will work with your needs/desires for the use of the kitchen and other main areas of my home. Generous cabinet and refreigerator space are provided. I also travel, so I may be away for several days or more during your stay.
Saddlebrooke is located about 45 minutes north of downtown Tucson. We are near the Biosphere and Catalina State Park. Our skies are fairly dark, so you may enjoy sitting out at night to star gaze. Within the community there are several good restaurants, and a community theater, which brings in live entertainment as well as weekly movies during the winter months. The Tucson Gem and Mineral show comes to town each February, as does the Annual La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros, the Tucson rodeo and parade. You can learn about the natural history of the southwest at the Sonoran Desert Museum, located in the Saaguaro National Park. Also, Tombstone is just south east of Tucson, for a trip back in time.
The neighborhood is quiet. Lots of friendly walkers in the early morning and evenings.
  • Warm, inviting, comfortable and beautiful describes the home I stayed in at Saddlebrook As a hostess, Sally was very outgoing and so easy to talk to, yet her spacious home provided privacy. Her home was spotless, the well furnished patio has a fabulous view of the mountains. She even provided extra passes for my son and daughter-in-law to the pool and welcomed them to her home. I would highly recommended her home for a relaxing visit to this wonderful safe retirement village!

  • Terrific stay in a great home and welcoming host. I’ll hopefully stay here again.

  • Sally’s home is in a very quiet neighborhood. She keeps her home clean and tidy. Always willing to visit if you’re so inclined or to give you your own space. Two indoor sitting areas as well outdoor patio provide ample space. I enjoyed my time very much and would readily recommend it to others.

  • Sally is a great hostess, aiming to please. She is gracious and kind, and interested in her guests. Her home is beautiful, decorated in part by many of her considerably talented family's paintings. Her private back patio is a place of respite, with different seating options, plantings, art objects, the sun coming over the mountains, and the birdsong you can hear from the trees in hers and her neighbors' yards. Her home is a block from access to the Saddlebrook golf course, where you can walk before 8:00AM and after 6PM at this time of year (Fall) on the sidewalk that runs along the perimeter of all the links. You can go for miles if you wanted to. The Saddlebrook development is quiet, clean and interesting, with all the different house styles and their desert landscape plantings to note as you pass through the neighborhoods. Sally provided breakfast items, to be prepared by the guest, which was a great convenience. She also had ready a guest pass to use the amenities of the Saddlebrook community recreational center. Sally has semi-retired, and uses her home as her office now. So she may be there off and on during the day. She is a great communicator, so it was easy to make plans for the day, knowing when she might be out and about, or at home. There are several sitting areas in her home, with books and objects of interest scattered about. So if quietly reading is your cup of tea, that can be arranged! And there were several TV's, so you won't miss your favorite programs if that is your desire. II think you would enjoy staying in this well appointed home, with Sally looking out for you!
