  • This little cabin is the perfect getaway for a long weekend or anytime really. It's secluded enough that you have peace and quiet, but not too far away from everything. The view is amazing and this was our first time seeing the stars that bright. We enjoyed grilling and making s'mores on the campfire. Everything was amazing and we didn't want to leave!

    Adrian2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cabin. We loved staying here. Tim and Virginia made us feel very welcomed and gave us the privacy we needed. Everything was just great!

  • The cabin was so beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable. The little touches they provided were very thoughtful and appreciated. It's about 20 min off rt 81 but well worth the drive.

  • This place is magical! My boyfriend and I had the loveliest stay, it was such a great gateway from the busy city life. We loved spending time by the fire pit and cooking on the grill. The surroundings are beautiful, and the cabin is so cute! There were so many details that made our stay so cozy and comfortable. Tim and Virginia are so thoughtful and responded very quickly. You won't regret staying here!

  • Another great ski weekend. Private mountainside home with everything needed for a great time.

    Linda2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Would give 6 stars for value if possible.

    Shevaun2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a cozy and comfortable getaway this is the perfect spot. The house was adorable, warm and clean. There’s no service at all so if you’re looking to escape from your phone for a while this is the place to go. Highlights were definitely the fire pit plus there’s a TV with a VHS player and tons of movies, and we even brought a GameCube and hooked that up. Easy to find yet secluded at the same time. Hosts live just up the hill too if you need anything or if there’s an emergency. Would definitely stay here again! Easy 5 stars

    Sam2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • The host were absolutely amazing, so helpful and caring

    Anith2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Host is very accommodating and responsive. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this place to get away from the city. Very quiet place to be. Enjoy the great outdoor. They have a huge area of woods that you can explore

    Da Hui2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • House is much better than what is shown in pictures. We came in late at night, but the host was very cooperative and had a very good check-in, only problem was with the location and route to get to the house. But, it was perfectly described by host, we just had to follow his description. Overall it’s worth the money and it’s a great stay.

    Akhil2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful farmhouse! It was just what we were looking for. A private & comfortable get-away. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Here at Whitewater Farm we welcome everyone that would like to spend some time on our farm in this incredibly special tiny house that we built and decorated with our own hands. We have busy lives on the farm taking care of our crops and animals and children, but we enjoy visitors of all sorts and are so thankful to share our farm this way.
This tiny house was a dream of ours to build. My husband did 90% of the work by himself and then I decorated it. We are so happy to share it with others who want to try out minimalist living! The tiny house is located on our 156 acre farm halfway between our house and garage (we also airBnB a rustic loft space above the garage that sleeps up to 7 so you may see other guests on site). The front porch features a small bench, which is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. Walking in to the tiny house, you’ll find the sleeper sofa (double sized; sheets are located under the sofa in a box if you prefer to sleep on the first floor) on your left. The kitchen is in the rear left and the rear right features the bathroom behind a sliding barn door. A sturdy ladder climbs up to the loft which features a queen bed. Note: the loft is NOT young children-safe whatsoever and a baby gate will not work to make it so due to the design of the railing. We do not recommend young children to be in the loft. In the kitchen there is a mini refrigerator (sometimes stocked with our farm eggs if we have extra) and I provide coffee that can be made in the French Press provided. There is also an electric hot plate for cooking/heating water as well as tea pot, pots, pans and general kitchen tools. There is cream and sugar available. The bathroom features a port-o-potty. There is no shower in the tiny house but if guests request a shower, they are welcome to use the guest shower in our main house, 150 feet away (please let us know if this is the case). We have also built an outdoor shower connected to our main house that has hot and cold water. Guests may use this as well. This tiny house has electricity but we don’t have plumbing or running water. We do have a sink with cold water in the bathroom and the kitchen area for drinking/washing up. There is a space heater for winter/cold temperatures. It seems to keep up really well if temperatures are 20F and above; if the nights are super cold, the space heater can struggle to keep the bottom floor really warm but the loft always remains toasty...heat rises, y’all! We experimented with different heat sources but this one seems the best option for 95% of the nights in Pennsylvania so we are sticking with it. For summer, we have two fans for air circulation (one on the first floor and one next to the bed in the loft). WiFi does reach the tiny house and password provided at check in. It is spotty, but is the best we can get in the country. Outside of the tiny house is our communal fire pit (shared amongst guests on site), a large charcoal grill and an outdoor camp kitchen. Wood is $5 per bundle, money goes straight to my husband for cutting and stacking it. You can also bring your own. Bring your own charcoal as well if you want to cook outside. If guests plan to walk the property or visit the barnyard of farm animals (we have goats, chickens and rabbits), a Liability Release Form must be filled out ahead of time and dropped off in the kitchen of our main house as this is private property. A welcome packet, map of the property, Liability Release Forms, and a list of all local attractions/restaurants is available when you walk through the front door of the tiny house. As we have two dogs on site, we do not permit guests’ pets on the property. For winter stays, please look at the photo of Whitewater Lane. It is relatively steep and during snow/ice can be slippery. There are 4 houses including ours that live up this lane and we all drive front wheel drive and/or all wheel drive vehicles. We are confident drivers in the snow and no one has gotten in trouble on the lane but for those guests who aren’t comfortable driving in snow and/or don’t have a properly equipped vehicle, I would recommend booking outside of the Winter season (usually December-February sees the most likelihood of major storms).
Local Information: White Water Farm is located just west of the Pocono Mountain range in northeastern Pennsylvania. The nearest city is Hazleton, PA with a population just under 20,000. Wilkes-Barre is a 20 minute drive away; Scranton is 35-40 minutes away. We are conveniently located within 1 mile of Interstate 80, the main east/west route through Pennsylvania. Easy on/off. Within a three mile radius, one has access to a grocery store, liquor/beer store, local restaurants, and several gas stations. Everything you would need is in this valley. Come see for yourself how beautiful Pennsylvania can be! The closest grocery store is Goulds' ShurSave located along Route 93 as part of Valley Plaza. Less than 2 miles away, it is located in a shopping center that has a beer store, liquor store, pizza restaurant, pharmacy, and tobacco shop. Also features an ice cream shop and mini golf course (open seasonally). There are a wide array of local restaurants with exceptional food, including The Frogtowne Bar & Grille (located just 1 mile away), Sally's Country Inn, The Meating House, Brass Buckle, etc. Local attractions include (search online for their websites): Knoebals Amusement Park, Elysburg, PA Centralia, PA (underground burning city) Laurel Drive-In (open seasonally), Hazleton, PA Jim Thorpe, PA (historic mining town with train rides available!) Cinema and Drafthouse, Hazleton, PA (featuring inexpensive new-release movies and a wide selection of beer, drinks and food) Ricketts Glen State Park (Great hiking with the ability to see 22 waterfalls and a man-made beachfront lake at the top of a mountain!) Eckley Miners Village, Eckley PA (recreation of a historic mining town including an anthracite coal museum) Many a guest have stayed with us as they seek out one or more of the many waterfalls that Pennsylvania has to offer. This link provides a detailed map to follow and we are right along the western border of the trail: http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/pennsylvania/pa-road-trip-waterfalls/

We really enjoyed meeting Blakeslee and her family and playing with the dogs, chickens, and goats. The hike around the property was such a highlight! The tiny house itself was so charming and had everything we needed. We are already looking forward to coming back!

  • Highly highly recommend staying at this tiny house. The owners make you feel welcome and at home and are always available to answer any questions. They truly go above and beyond. The tiny home is decorated perfectly and above all, the scenery is impeccable. Theirs a beautiful 3 mile trail on the farm that takes you past a nice river. They also have the worlds greatest dog who will guide you on your hiking adventures. My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice already and are planning to visit again soon.

  • Regina and Barry's home is one-of-a-kind and such a peaceful, wonderful place! We've been there three times and every single time is better than the first! It's the perfect place for a quiet break from the city, with lots of wildlife and scenery. It's also really close to Hickory Run State Park, which has some great hikes. The home is spotless, with all of the comforts you could need!

  • Beautiful cabin with a balance between traditional aesthetics and modern comforts. Huge property to explore on foot which was perfect for our dog. Kitchen has everything you need. Regina and Barry are excellent hosts and made our stay stress-free with timely communication and kindness. Late checkout is a huge plus and let us spend the afternoon as well.

  • Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The dogs loved the area and their dog, Wolf is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet and deserves to constantly be called a "good boy". This place is great if you just want to be disconnected from the world.

  • Regina was a great host, very friendly. Me, my boyfriend and our dog loved the cozy cottage. We are nature lovers and enjoyed the huge field and hikes into the Forrest. we went for 1 night in the winter so we weren’t able to use the saddle boats sadly but totally plan to come back in the summer!

  • Nice cozy home with a great view and plenty of room to wander and explore! Great for a family of 4 or 5. Tight squeeze for 6 or 7 but it’s manageable. There is only one bathroom, but TWO toilets - one is in the basement and comes in handy. Everything you will need for cooking and living is there already for you to use. Great family friendly place to stay!

Welcome to Whitewater Farm and thank you for checking us out!
Welcome to Whitewater Farm! My husband and I live along with our two sons (one infant and one toddler) on this property that has been in our family's hands for over 30 years. This rental is for the newly renovated loft space above our detached three stall garage. It currently features 3 twin beds, 1 full bed and 1 queen bed as well as a living room area with two couches (one is a sleeper sofa), large screen HDTV with Netflix, and VHS/DVD player. The remaining 1/4 of the space is filled with a kitchen nook featuring a traditional coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate and mini-fridge. There is no running water in the loft, so guests have full access to the two bathrooms and one shower located inside our home, which is approximately 100 feet away from the loft space. We also have an outdoor shower and an outhouse available for guest use. More details below: One bathroom is on the first floor past the kitchen and the second (with guest shower) is up the steps and to the right. This access is available 24/7 and guests should feel comfortable coming in and out of our house at any point. We are so used to it and truly live by the saying “our home is your home!” There is also a working and very clean traditional outhouse located 100 feet from the bottom of the loft steps for a true farm life experience (and also for any guests who don’t feel 100% comfortable walking in/out of our house). And finally, we finished building an outdoor shower with hot and cold water that is along the pathway to the outhouse. Guests may use this at any time of day or night. Please note: If there are more than 2 guests, there will be an additional charge of $10 per person per night. Maximum number of guests permitted is 7 people. Keep in mind there are only 5 beds, so sharing would be necessary. Also, please note that this space is only rented out to one group (or individual!) at a time so you will NOT be sharing the space with strangers. The style is rustic but with plenty of charm. Guests should expect coffee and/or tea in the morning. Cream and sugar available. All other food is supplied by guests, but they are welcome to use the oven, stovetop, and microwave in our main house to cook meals. The loft features a mini refrigerator that is quite spacious as well as a toaster oven. Jugs of fresh water are also provided in the loft for making coffee and/or drinking. I provide you with fresh bed linens and towels for your stay. Please bring outdoor/pet towels with you for swimming in our pond or river as I ask that the ones I provide stay inside. During summer months, the windows and doors can open to provide a cross breeze and there are 2 fans available for air circulation. During the fall/winter/spring months, there are 2 space heaters and I provide warm down comforters on each bed. Bring layers for nights below 25F but otherwise the space heaters do a great job. Pets: On our property we have 2 dogs and 2 two cats that spend their time in our house and yard. They can be completely unattended whether inside or outside. • Second time being there and I have nothing but great words to say about this place. Blakslee is such an amazing host with a beautiful loft. Spacious, clean, comfortable and all around a great time. Can’t wait until the next time.

    Raymond2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Blakslee's place and it was just as nice as the first time. Very clean, very cute, with a lot of living space and a really convenient set-up (especially considering there is no plumbing, Blakslee makes an effort to provide water and a basin and things that make it easy to get by without that. Plus the walk to the bathroom in their house takes two seconds!) Will definitely stay again if I'm traveling to the area, and hopefully will have time to hang out around their cute farm animals (chickens! goats!) and hike in the area, too.

    Brandy N2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our seventh year staying on the farm, which I think says it all. We will keep coming back as long as they’ll have us!

    Jonathan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This location is absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing and connecting with nature. I loved the loft and using the outdoor shower two mornings. It was so peaceful and really was a refreshing way to start the day! I was a bit shy at first walking into the house and just using the indoor bathroom and shower, but Blakeslee and her family are so warm and inviting, l got over that pretty quickly. This was our first Air bnb experience so l am a newbie and wasn't sure what to expect. I had a great experience and lasting memories with my 3 boys. If you like the idea of an outdoorsy getaway with the option to hike, swim, fish or just sit around a nice bonfire, l would highly recommend this location. I felt kinda like l was camping, but with a homey vibe. The kids loved just doing outdoor activities that money can't buy and they loved the dog and feeding the animals. It's just a great place to reconnect and relax. The beds were super comfy and the temperature was just right in the loft. I will definitely be bringing my family back in the future!

    Catherine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Blakslee's place was a great location for us- close to the interstate, but when you're at her place, it's so secluded you can't tell you're close! We appreciated all the extras, like the outhouse, outdoor shower, goats and chickens, etc. and especially Blakslee and her family's hospitality. Blakslee has made this place beautiful, and even at night it is lit with lights beautifully so we can easily make it from the loft to the house for bathroom use. This is a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it!

    Candice2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful getaway! My father and I were able to escape the craziness of everyday life. The loft was super comfortable and the farm was exactly as described! Blaklee and family were so wonderful and easy to communicate with. I can’t wait to go back again!

    Emma2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Blakslee's place is very cute and the space was very functional despite no plumbing. Access to the restrooms in her home was easy and there was a nice pitcher of water and basin for quick washing up inside the loft, plus more for drinking, making tea or coffee, etc. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the snacks they left out, and the mini-kitchen, while mini, had basically everything I could want for a short stay. I also loved the cute dog and chickens and goats. My stay was very short but it was clear this is a great spot for a little outdoorsy get-away vacation!

    Brandy N2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Place is as advertised. The hospitality is unbelievable, the space is clean and with all the amenities needed. Plenty of room to sleep, hangout, located on a beautiful farm with a campfire in the back. Can't say enough about the hosts.

We are a working farm with horses, miniature donkeys, llamas and alpacas, dairy goats, angora goats, sheep, peacocks, chickens, ducks, honey bees, cats and dogs. We have a nature trail through the woods by our stream and you may visit all the animals with the innkeeper. Get your portrait done by the innkeeper and see all her art throughout the property. We are nearby Knoebel's Amusement Park, Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, Numidia Dragstrip, Eagle Rock Ski Resort and Bloomsburg University.
Our farm animals are very friendly and happy to meet all our guests with Gail, the innkeeper. We have our own organic eggs from our chickens, honey from our bees and beautiful yarns and rovings from our sheep, angora goats, llamas and alpacas... all are for sale to our guests right off the farm.
We are located in a rural farm community. There are restaurants, gas stations and all types of shopping within 20 minutes or less of our farm.
  • We rented the cabin on Gail’s property to be in the middle of nowhere, far from the city. It was exactly what we hoped for. The cabin was clean and spacious. The simple, delicious breakfast food was welcome after our late night arrival. We enjoyed walking/running the surrounding country roads and eating at convivial local restaurants. Highly recommend!

    Anita2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Wonderful experience! Amazing animals roamed around the forest and the cat lead us the entire way amazing all the animals are amazingly trained and Gail was an amazing host

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Gail’s house offers such a unique experience, that we highly recommend it for families with children. The animals are so gentle and the tour of the farm with Gail is definitely a special experience. The house had plenty of space for the 5 of us. When we got home, the kids asked when we are going back to Gail’s house.

    Giovanni2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gail rightfully earned her previous high ratings, with an obvious desire to create a warm welcome for her guests. The cabin had a cozy atmosphere, especially when compounded with Gail's attention to detail that allowed for a homey feel, such as the fresh eggs that highlights the farm environment, and the bed-side earplugs for anyone not wanting the morning rooster wake-up call. The well-maintained property extends past the home to a lovely trail that circles through trees around a nearby creek. Even the farm animals seemed to enjoy the company, whether it be the horses, alpacas, goats or cats, which neared the fence as we entered the drive each day.

    Scott2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Her talented artwork was very gorgeous to look at. You can tell host works really hard to make place feel like home. Animals were very sweet and comforting.

    Therese2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a remarkable experience! I love log cabins and farms, so this was the ideal atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the many friendly creatures that inhabit this lovely estate. The fresh free range eggs were delicious.

    Daniel2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for an escape from the city or just a place to get away look no further than Gail's AirBnB. We had so much fun waking up and seeing all of the animals - we were particularly thrilled to find there were three adorable baby goats. The property also has a beautiful backwoods trail that takes you along a small creek. I highly suggest staying with Gail - I have no doubts that you will find the same wonderful amenities and serenity that her property offers.

    Adam2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Can't say enough great things about Peaceable Kingdom, Gail/Conrad, and all the furry friends...they were all exceptional hosts! The cabin is immaculate and complete with all the finishing touches to make your stay away from home as close to home as they can! Wonderful selection of farm fresh eggs, milk, and baked goods were also supplied! Cannot wait to go back for another visit this summer!

  • The place is quirky and cozy and fun to explore. The views are beautiful and it was lovely to just be unplugged for a few days. The hosts are kind and responsive. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen had plenty of pots and pans to do so! We had to travel a bit for some hiking but, the local area was great for walking!

    Genevieve2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This house lives up to its reviews! If you’re looking for the TajMahal then this isn’t your place, but if you’re looking for a quaint, quiet country homey stay, this IS your place! Jamie was an excellent host & very responsive. The amenities were as described with a few extras. The property & views were absolutely gorgeous! We enjoyed our stay & will book again when we’re in the area.

Discover more on our website! Enter “Grier City Schoolhouse” in your search bar and the website will appear at the top of the results. The schoolhouse was built in the early 1900s. Grades 1 - 8 occupied the four classrooms, with two grades to each of the four classrooms. Many of the old architectural details remain, including the grand staircase, double door foyer entryway, original hardwood pine floors and original millwork. The windows are over 90 inches tall, providing light to all the rooms throughout the day. Guest comfort is of utmost importance. Unlike other properties, we have purchased linens specifically for guest use and do not use old hand-me-down towels and sheets. All items are selected for comfort and style--no clashing patterns or garish designs here. All beds include premium supportive down pillows (with pillow protectors!) and luxurious down comforters during the winter months. The mattresses are comfortable and not too firm for a great night's rest (they are also covered with protectors). Towels and washcloths are provided. All bedding (including duvet covers) and towels are washed after each guest. You can rest assured that your safety and hygiene are of the utmost importance. All decor has been hand selected and curated by the host. The Schoolhouse includes an array of unique antiques (hand painted signs, mod electric fireplace, typewriters, games) and features a curated selection of mid-century antique furniture. In addition, old photographs of the school during its operation are displayed around the room along with the owner's paintings and prints in the guest room, kitchen, foyer and bathroom. This is a unique space -- don't miss your chance to experience such a wonderful rural retreat!
The schoolhouse is located in a peaceful residential area surrounded by trees and grass. Very calm, quiet and tranquil! The road gets a light amount of traffic during the day and very little at night. As an important note, there are no amenities within walking distance of the property, a short five minute drive will take you to the closest grocery store. Local Attractions include: The town of Jim Thorpe featuring shopping, live music at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, restaurants, whitewater rafting, cycling and more! Only a 30 min drive. Tuscarora State Park is perfect for hiking, swimming, and fishing. They also offer rental boats during the summer season. Just a 5 minute drive. Locust Lake State Park features hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities. Just a 13 minute drive. Mountain Valley Golf Course is open to the public. They also have a nice brunch on Sundays. A 15 minute drive. Yeungling Brewery, America's oldest, is a 25 minute drive away in Pottsville. They offer tours open to the public. Great antique shopping is all over the area. I can give you a list of stores if you are interested. On Wednesdays from 8am -7pm (6 pm in the winter), the famous Hometown Farmer's Market is the place to be. Stop by for fresh produce, local wine and honey, Amish delicacies and many other inexpensive stores offering everything from antiques to electronics. There are also a number of stores serving a wide range of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Only a 5 minute drive.
  • The schoolhouse was incredibly charming. Maria was very responsive and check-in was easy. The games and decorations were fun! The kitchen and shared dining space were large and well-stocked with utensils alongside delicious coffee! A treasure in the area!

Maria has done such a cool job with the style inside, creating a modern rustic feel while also paying homage to the history of the school house. Very cool, would highly recommend. Thanks Maria!

  • The schoolhouse was a perfect place for four teachers to stay while visiting family in PA. It was bigger than we expected and the renovations are unique and charming. Maria is quick to respond and her cat, Tarot, is an added bonus. There are pictures and articles throughout about the schoolhouse history. It is a very unique place to stay. We all loved it. Thank you Maria and Tarot.

The Llama loft is in a modern italian villa style house, with lots of tile and stucco. We are on a farm with lots of horses, miniature donkeys, goats, sheep, peacocks, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. None of our animals go into the guests spaces, even though they are all very friendly and would be happy to meet you. We generally do need 24 hour notice if you’d like to stay here because there are farm chores that need attention throughout each day.
The Llama Loft is a private space with its own large bathroom. It is on the second floor of the main house.
  • The location, scenery, amenities and hospitality were perfect for getting away from the grind and enjoying northeastern Pennsylvania. The complimentary guide cat for the walking trail is a nice touch.

Inside and outside is meticulously maintained. The arrangement is convenient and the sleeping quarters are very comfortable. Close the door and bedtime hours are peaceful. I would love to stay again and had a great time with the farm animals and my children.

  • Gina is a wonderful host. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at her house. She always greeted me with a smile and was so very accommodating. On check in, I arrived earlier than expected, but thankfully Gina quickly came home and let me in. If you ever need a place in Hazelton, stay at Gina’s. She’s conveniently located in “the valley” and she’ll give you all the local tips. It really was a pleasure staying with her.

  • I had another wonderful week at Gina's! She is an amazing host and really goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home during your stay. Her place is so clean and organized which really helps while you're traveling. It will be bitter sweet next week during my last stay at Gina's, but I am so looking forward to the trip knowing that I will be staying with her. She is an amazing host and a definite place to stay if you're going to be in the Hazleton area! I will definitely be staying with her again if I find myself traveling in that region!

    Christina2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • I found out last minute that I needed to do my clinical rotations in Hazelton for 3 weeks and am just so happy that I found Gina and her beautiful place! She is so kind and accommodating and will give you some great local tips. Her place is sparkling clean and it’s a nice big room in your own wing of her house. I am looking forward to my next 2 stays with her in the upcoming weeks.

    Lee2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The mattress is WONDERFUL! The room and the bathroom are sparkling clean! I am also a big fan of the tilework in the bathroom and kitchen. If I lived in the Hazleton area, that is the house I would want to live in. What a treat!

  • This place is the perfect getaway for the weekend! A group of friends and myself were up for a wedding near the area, and this was exactly what we needed! The house was very spacious with a number of beds, a kitchen supplied with just what we needed and endless amounts of blankets and pillows! The community was quaint and quiet. Not much in the nearby area what we saw, but a great place to hang out at for a weekend away.. would definitely recommend!
