Chill 'n Fill looks like a storefront for filling beer and cider growlers. HOWEVER, it's so much more than that! If you walk through an unassuming door to the left of the cash register, it opens out to a huge space with big TVs for viewing sports, pool tables, and seating for large and small groups. Typically a food cart runs out of the back area, so you can get dinner along with pints of your favorite brews. We like to swing by Chill ‘n Fill on Wednesdays, when most growler fills are $10. They have an online tap list and typically offer a few ciders, a wine, and kombucha, as well as a huge number of beers. We provide an empty growler for you to use.

Food scene

This place makes great sandwiches! Our fave is the toasted meatball sub, but they have many options, including building your own. It's a quick, easy walk from our house. The seating is more functional than cozy, because takeout is a big part of their business.

This nearby pizza place makes big, gooey pies. Our favorite is the Salerno stuffed pizza, which is a bit out of the ordinary: ricotta cheese, smoked ham, and red onion. Covid permitting, they have lots of seating (groups can gather) and a few pinball machines.

Two words: Ocean Roll. This cardamom bun made with flaky croissant dough is a showstopper. The line can be long, but it's worth the wait!

Sightseeing

Not only is the St. Johns Bridge beautiful, it also connects us to Forest park, with miles of forested trails. Even the underside of the bridge is cool, with arched support pillars, a park, and access to the Willamette River.
