I've never been to Building 43, but AirBnB could not find the real gem next door, Rock Wall Winery! Fantastic place to taste wine, grab a bite, and look out over San Francisco and Bay. Kid friendly.

The nicest park on the island, ten minutes walk from the house. There is a children's playground, pool, tennis courts, and grassy picnic area.

Alameda's newest bakery, and it is SO GOOD. Excellent espresso drinks, and a wide extremely high quality range of bakery items from typical croissants and bread, to inventive cakes and other treats.
