Everything Else

Wonderful local playground. Probably best for kids 2-6 years old, an easy walk from the house through Dolores Park. The playground is on the other side of the park from our house, but its a short stroll (1/4 mile) on a paved stroller-friendly path.

Food Scene

Rockstar local icon that carries the best local organic produce, meat and fish, prepared foods including great sandwiches, as well as a well-crafted selection of wines, oils, chocolate, breads, cheeses, snacks... you get the idea. Not cheap but not bad value either. Also Bi-Rite Creamery ice cream is sold in pint tubs in the back freezer (if the line is too long at Bi-Rite Creamery). Super friendly staff and fast moving lines even when it looks like no one else will fit in the store. Do not miss.

Sightseeing

Watch Sean Pean in the movie "Milk" before coming and then stroll up and down Castro street (from 19th to Market). Check out shows playing at the Castro Theatre and grab a bite in a window seat at Harvey's (its not a foodie joint but good sight seeing).
