Our botanical gardens are gorgeous. Beautiful trails for walking and running, and an AWESOME playground for the kiddos! They also usually have some really fun events going on.

Local shopping

This is my FAVORITE bookstore. It is locally owned, cute and cozy with a great selection of reads. The employee suggestions have never let me down. After you snag your next read, pop next door to the chocolate shop!

This place is magical. If you are a dark chocolate fan welcome to Heaven. And if you are not, there a few other options too! Enjoy ice cream with espresso drizzled over it, a delectable variety of truffles, and cozy up to some homemade hot chocolate in the winter.

One of the best burgers in town, and I do not say that lightly. Wanting to check out the soccer game? This is the perfect spot. It is a small space so maybe hit them up for lunch or go early to grab a table for dinner.

This is my fave lunch spot (dinner is spectacular too, just a little pricier). Do not leave without getting dessert. Don't do it. My favorite is the white chocolate cheesecake. This cheesecake will change your life-seriously.

Don't let the ambiguous name fool you. This southern cuisine restaurant is no joke. Great prices and awesome food. My personal favorite is their buttermilk fried (you can get it grilled, but carpe diem am I right?)chicken sandwich. They have a great brunch as well as dinner. If you are in town on the weekend and want to go for dinner, go a little early, there will be a wait.

Music Scene

Athens is a music town. The Georgia Theater is a prime spot to catch a show. They also have a nice rooftop bar where they typically have live music (often for free, a great option if you are looking for a happy hour spot with some music).

Libations

This brewery has a lot of space and a nice variety of beers to try. You may recognize a couple of the local brews from Thor in End Game. Be like Thor, drink Athens beer. Also, on Wednesdays the farmer's market is held here.
