Sightseeing
The Marlborough Sounds are stunning, and contain 20% of NZ’s coastline. Take a Greenshell Mussel Cruise with the Marlborough Tour Company and you will not be disappointed. Leaving Havelock around munch time, they will take you out into those blue waters, showing you what a mussel farm looks like and then serving freshly-cooked mussels and a glass of chilled white wine. Perfect!
Just amazing. You’d think it was more for blokes than girls, but when couples we’ve sent there return, they can’t praise it highly enough.
Sir Peter Jackson (of The Hobbit, and more, fame) has donated a lot of items, including some incredible WWI planes and pieces of militaria. It’s a real delight - come and see it!
There is now a second exhibition on the same site, dedicated to WWII, that has recently opened.

One of the best restaurants in NZ, we reckon, and right on our doorstep. How lucky is that!
The food is beyond delicious, and the presentation gives Art a whole new meaning. Staff are delightful and very welcoming. Lovely dining room too, with late afternoon Tapas as another option.
