Drinks & Nightlife

Great place to have a local Mojito. Try the one on the corner of the back of the Building, where there is a Canopy with some chairs. It is a whole in the wall, but delicious Mojitos. Best days are from Thursday - Sunday. But you can really arrive any day. Gets crowded later, after 10pm.

Beautiful beach for a day trip. Make sure you walk it and see the old military tank stuck on the beach. It used to be a military island and they would test anti tank rounds.

Nice place to take a little boat and ride it to the cayos around the area (little islands where you can park the boat and jump on the water) and mangroves. Johnny boats (787) 460-8922 can rent you a small boat, very cheap.

Great Surfing. My favorite surf spot, when there is a nice swell. I like riding right waves and this spot has nice, somewhat slow waves. When it is really big, it is another story... I would say you need to sleep there one night at least. It takes 2h30min to get there.

Shopping

Outlet stores in Puerto Rico. There is another outlet in the island, but Barceloneta has more variety. No comparison to the Big outlets in the US, but if you live in an expensive country and want to look at some options, it may be worth. Please check the store on the Barceloneta website, before going there.
