This is a beautiful restaurant. It is for those who like an "alternative" lifestyle and everyone who likes good food and atmosphere. It is also just a short walk away from Andrews road and Saint Samantha lane.

It sits right on the lake. It is a lovely place to relax and contemplate the water, and the mountains, after an invigorating morning or afternoon walk. We love it!

We love the food here! Amazing! One of our favorite! Slightly pricey but hey - delicious! Love the lamb and the local venison dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed, the place has history and its easy going. No formal attire needed. It is opened for all meals of the day. We like going for an early dinner (especially if we haven't had lunch) to beat the crowds. Arrowtown is a must visit too.

Parks & Nature

I love walking to the top of Queenstown Hill and back. The views are stunning! It is a pleasant hike that doesn't demand too much. There are some shortcuts from the apartment and for the best view follow my directions below: Cross to Highview Terrace (it is a small clearing by #10 Andrews Road. Follow the road around (make a curve) Right on Hensman Rd. Continue onto Edinburgh Drive. Turn right onto Belfast Terrace. Take the Queenstown Hill Walkway. Take a picnic and enjoy the best views of QT at the top. On the way back you can go through town and return by the lake. All in All about 3hrs or 8-10km depending what way you choose to go. I love taking this walk or parts of it, a couple of times a week (or more).

Essentials

We love New World Supermarket. It is by the airport and you would need a car to get there but they have the best (supermarket) bakery in town. We love their sourdough bread (has many flavours), as well as the variety of gourmet meats.

This the full package - the journey is just as spectacular as the destination! A must visit and a stop at the local Cafe (the one with the Moa bird) is one of our rituals. Food is superb, cakes are homemade, coffee is fantastic and the tea is special tea leaves.....Just go there!

If you like long walks and walking to the peaks (like 6-8hrs) with a beautiful view (maybe the best in Queenstown) you need to do this walk.
