Sightseeing

Enjoying walking around Temple Square and touring some of the historical buildings surrounding it. Something special during the wintertime: After Thanksgiving, Temple Square is a must-see place. It is completely decorated with lights and different nativity scenes from around the world. There are concerts, organ recitals, and more each night that you can participate in. When you get cold, stop by the “Nauvoo Cafe” in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to get some great hot chocolate, listen to beautiful piano music while viewing the large Christmas tree (that changes it’s decorations every year), and/or choose something to donate at the Christmas boxes.

Entertainment

Do you enjoy going to see a play or musical? Hale Center Theater is such a fun place to watch a play and/or musical because they have a circular stage; there is no bad seat! Not only is the stage circular, but some scenes drop from the ceiling or rise from the ground. The costumes are amazing and the actors are great!

Lagoon is a fun amusement park with great rides and shows! Our personal favorite rides are: tidal wave (a big boat), cannibal, wicked, and the spider. They also have a water park. If you’re here during October, Lagoon holds “Frightmares” which is basically a haunted theme park and rides; definitely a fun time to go if you like to be scared!
